1. Annotated Bibliography Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of an annotated bibliography can be both challenging and
rewarding. The difficulty lies in the multifaceted nature of the task, which requires not only a
deep understanding of the subject matter but also the ability to critically evaluate and synthesize
various sources. An annotated bibliography essay necessitates thorough research to identify
relevant literature, journals, and scholarly articles. Each source must be meticulously analyzed
and summarized, showcasing its relevance to the overarching theme.
The challenge further intensifies as one needs to provide insightful commentary on each source,
elucidating its strengths, weaknesses, and its contribution to the broader discourse. Additionally,
maintaining a coherent structure and flow throughout the essay while addressing the diverse
perspectives presented by the annotated sources demands careful consideration and meticulous
planning.
Moreover, the task involves mastering the art of citation and adhering to specific formatting
styles such as APA, MLA, or Chicago. Each citation must be accurate and consistent,
contributing to the overall credibility of the essay. The meticulous nature of the annotated
bibliography essay requires attention to detail and a keen eye for precision.
Despite its challenges, crafting an annotated bibliography essay offers the opportunity to delve
deep into a subject, enhancing one's research and analytical skills. It fosters a deeper
understanding of the scholarly conversation surrounding a topic and allows for the development
of critical thinking abilities.
In conclusion, the process of writing an annotated bibliography essay is no simple feat. It
demands time, dedication, and a high level of academic proficiency. However, the rewards lie in
the intellectual growth and the mastery of research and analytical skills that it brings. For those

2. Literary Analysis Of Hillbilly Elegy
Literary Analysis The memoir Hillbilly Elegy, written by J.D. Vance, is the
remarkable story of a young man s challenges of growing up in poverty. The book
focuses on the difficulties that come along with living in Appalachia, and the family
issues that go on as well. Living in poverty introduced Vance to a world filled with
toxicity and violence. This unhealthy environment caused Vance to develop a conflict
within himself, making him struggle with his self identity. In Hillbilly Elegy, Vance
uses Conflict to empathize the toxicity that surrounded his family. The introduction of
toxicity in Vance s life can be traced back to the absence of his biological father. At
a young age, Vance s father gave him up for adoption. This was shocking... Show

conflict with the children and the men their mother brought home made a toxic
environment. They were unable to create heathy relationships with the men due to
the fear and assumption of their eventual departure. The conflict between Vance s
mother and the men was also not healthy for the children, Vance writes, When I
heard [his mom] screaming at [one of the men], or weeping on the floor after an
especially intense argument...I felt guilty that she was going through this for my
sake (89). Although, the issues within the household were not related to Vance, he
still took on responsibility for his Mother s unhappiness. With the constant change
of men in Vance s life, came additional siblings to his already complicated family
tree. For a young child, the explanation of how many siblings he had was often
confusing and frustrating to explain. Without the ability to quickly summarize his
family ties, Vance became weary of the question and wanted to avoid it at all costs.
Being unable to confidently have an answer to how many siblings he had, Vance was
once again put into a toxic situation. The lack of stability and real relationships with
the people who were technically family to Vance, left him feeling disconnected,

The Impact of Computer Science on Health Care amp; Medicine
Abstract Computer science can be defined as the systematic study of algorithmic
processes, their theory, design, analysis, implementation and application. Its functions
in the modern society today expand far beyond the uses one could even begin to
imagine. Specifically, there is an increased influence in its practical application in the
field of medicine. In recent times, an interdependent relationship between medicine
and technology itself has been developed that did not exist before. Modern healthcare
relies heavily on the application of computer technology in furthering its
advancement of bioinformatics, biotechnology, artificial organ technology, robotic...

5. Persuasive Essay On National Parks
National parks: protected areas of land throughout the world to express natural
beauty. Every year, people visit the many national parks we have here to offer in the
United States. Some of which being Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Aradia,
Arches, Zion, Joshua Tree, and Sequoia. Two of the most famous national parks here
in the United Statesare the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park. The beauty
of these parks attract many tourists year round and there is always something new
happening there.
National parks signify the beauty and compassion of our national heritage through
nature and wildlife. National Parks also deliver other invaluable economic, social,
cultural and health benefits. With many people traveling yearly, there is always
going to be someone new telling you to go to this way cool national park they
visited during their vacation. The generations that follow us should know the
importance of wanting to explore and appreciate nature around them and why there
are parks dedicated and protected to them. Nature should be experienced through a
kind and peaceful manner, so that everyone can enjoy. National parks have been
woven into American society since the mid 1800s, and have been enjoyed and loved
ever since.
On the 25th of August in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed an act proclaiming
that 35 national parks and monuments, and yet to be established monuments, are to
be protected and placed under good care. National parks today now compromise more

JKJ Property Services can use different methods and devices for their electronic
communication across branch offices, such as E mail, mobile phones, fax, text
and instant messaging. Email is an electronic mail method that allows the users to
communicate over communication networks, and it is a message that contains
text, files, images and other attachments to be sending to other individual or a
group of users. Email is a very efficient method of communication which uses a
computer, notebook, iPod, tablet, laptop and smartphones to be send. In my
opinion, this is a good electronic communication method for JKJ to send the
information to the staff in different branches, and to the customers as well, good
way to save them money and time as well and to keep the JKJ staff and customers
up to date in term of the services they provide as a state agent. Mobile phones: Is

messages between two or more mobile phones. This is a cheap and quick
communication method for JKJ to send up to date information s to the customers and

7. The Bell Jar Feminism
The Bell Jar: The Strain of Societal Expectations on the Feminine Psyche I saw
myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn t
make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one
of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to
decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the
ground at my feet. (Plath 73)
The Bell Jar illustrates the growing feminist itinerary prevalent during Cold War
America by describing Esther Greenwood, and Plath s own descent into madness.
Linda Wagner has described The Bell Jar as the female bildungsroman with its
principal elements being a growing up and gradual self discovery, ... Show more

She goes through many instances in which the most sane of people would not be
able to return unscathed. But we as readers refuse to credit her misfortune because of
our own insecurities and the constraints society has set upon us, even today. Esther
Greenwood lives and copes with a mental illness in this book, and that is not
something most people are comfortable with. We try to rationalize her actions,
stating that she is just pressured by those around her, or her feminist views are
what cause her troubles. The reality is a culmination of multiple factors, some of
which are unexplainable. Very much like Salinger s Catcher in the Rye, Esther s
story is taken with varying levels of sympathy and understanding. Many would see
her as the typical brooding teenager, one who makes mountains out of molehills.
She is unbelievably privileged, especially for the time in which her story takes
place. One could say that she has it all, even more. But who are we to decide what
is big and what is small? Who are we to decide what classifies one s feelings as
worthy of the label of illness or just simply disagreeable? The Bell Jar is indeed an
important bildungsroman, because it opens discussion to harsh realities of life, ones
in which many are unwilling to face. This unwillingness could have meant the end
for Esther Greenwood; her mother being embarrassed of her daughter s condition,
8. Comparing Universal Robots (A. U. R) And Interstellar
Although there is not a vast amount of knowledge on the topics of robots, here is
what we do know. The word, robot is a generalized term that includes machines
such as the following: cyborgs, artificial intelligence (A.I.), and androids. These
robots are essentially mechanical objects or beings that are built and programmed
by humans for humans. Therefore, they are ideally limited to the capabilities
programmed into them. Robots are created with the intention of being useful
companions to society, but they may also become destructive. Overall, as
knowledge grows in this area of expertise, robots will simultaneously advance.
Rossum s Universal Robots (R.U.R), a 1920s play, and Interstellar, directed by
Christopher Nolan, are two great works that use the concept of robots. In both
storylines, a relationship is depicted between the technology of robots and the
culture of humans. I argue that in both texts there is a significant relationship
between robots and humans and the slightly contrasting roles they play in (R.U.R)
and Interstellar. This relationship is predicated on three factors. The first factor is
that the robots are built based upon the ideals and knowledge base of humans. The
second factor is the idea of human inferiority vs. robot superiority that is a question
of why this belief exists and if the superior party recognizes it. The third factor is
whether these robots want to become human and the role they play in the
advancement or downfall of society. In
9. Analysis Of I Carry My Heart
A young man is currently in the thicket of love with his significant other. At the
drop of a pin the man would get her anything she could desire, regardless if it is a
need or a want. Some would question why, but it is because it is he who has fallen
head over heels for her. For she is the love his life, his one in a million, the
irreplaceable. She is the one who keeps his heart in a steady rhythmic beat, who
brightens his day like the early morning sun. This is relatable for millions of
people in the world today, it is so well known that it could be considered a universal
theme. E. E. Cummings explains a very similar meaning in the poem [i carry your
heart(i carry it in my heart)] . The theme of the poem is that the unity of loveis
dangerously powerful when it is between two in love. Cummings makes this happen
through using metaphors, personification, and repetition.
Cummings uses metaphors throughout the poem to show how much care he has
for her. E. E. Cummings starts the first line of his poem with a metaphor saying i
carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart) . He uses this metaphor to show that
even if he and his lover are far apart, she will always be on his mind, in his heart, and
close to him. E. E. Cummings uses another metaphor almost immediately after in line
6 saying, for beautiful you are my world,my true . In the use of this metaphor he is
emphasizing that she is that someone you hope to never lose, because you would be
nothing without them. The final

11. How Does Thomas Treat Criminals
Throughout Thomas Mores Book on Utopia, he brings light on how criminals are
treated. Criminals in Utopia are treated fairly well compared to the society that he
lives in. Even some poor foreigners come into Utopia to have a better life as a slave
instead of being homeless in their home country. By having criminals being sentenced
to slaveryin Utopia, it seems like the harmless route for the prisoners. Although
Mores proposal sounds promising, it can result in negative consequences in the real
world. But first, let s briefly explore the topic of how criminals are dealt with in
Utopia. For criminals in general, they would serve a prisonsentence for a certain
amount of years, but in the country of Utopia, they are sentenced for life into slavery.

By this statement alone shows how terrible the conditions are in Mores world for
the poor people. Another thing to consider is that Utopian slavery is properly using
modern democratic concept from other countries by making the criminals and
prisoners work in labor schemes. These schemes are designed to help rehabilitate
prisoners or is a certain form of institutionalized abuse is certainly based on the
conditions of labour. The labour in Utopia is very demanding but not intended to be
harsh in any way. In most modern prisoners at that time, Utopians believe that every
person has a chance for redemption. By allowing criminals to do their dual diligence
toward society, they can have their sentences shortened or ended through displaying
good behaviour. From what has been addressed in this paragraph, one might ask what
could be negative about this way when dealing with criminals? A negative result that
could be presented is based on what crime the person has committed. Throughout the
book, Thomas More fails to discuss what types of crimes that these criminals and

My Neighbor Totoro makes us question if it s necessary to have an enemy or major
conflict in order to make a great movie. Although some might have found this film
strange due to simplicity and anti climactic plot I believe that is what helped it
become so popular around the world.
The film My Neighbor Totoro was one that was focused on the adventures that
Satsuki and Mei took as they moved into a new home in order to be closer to their
mother due to her being ill. My Neighbor Totoro has become one of the beloved of
all family films (Ebert) the positive message that this film gives substitutes for not
having that enemy or conflict other movies are so concentrated on. The Wizard of
Oz has Dorothy, who needs to find her way back home In order to be safe and
Finding Nemo has Nemo, who has to go through extreme measures in order to be
back with his father, both examples of popular movies that used an enemy or bad
situation in order to help create an exciting movie. Although My Neighbor Totoro did

The children movies nowadays in America are filled with little bits and pieces of
aggression and rebellious attitude, movies such as The Lion King and Moana are both
great examples since a movie such as the lion king, was all about killing in order

if it is something that you are not allowed to do and these are movies that are
extremely popular with children today. The positive and friendliness message My
Neighbor Totoro gives throughout the whole movie is one you definitely want your

that My Neighbor Totoro has become extremely popular not only in Japan but in the

The...
Phase change materials are widely used source of thermoregulation (TM) systems and
in latent thermal energy storage (LTES). PCMs capability to absorb and release large
latent heat during phase change transition processes provides a wide range of phase
change temperatures for thermal management systems. The incorporation of PCMs
can achieve the same or even better performances with a smaller volume. PCMs can
meet the thermoregulation requirements of various applications. Currently, the low
thermal conductivityof PCMs (usually less than 1 W mKв€’1) greatly limits their heat
dissipation performance in thermal management applications. Currently main focus
of research is to increase the thermal conductivity of the PCMs. In this regard
different kinds of materials such as metal and carbon composites with PCMs are
produced. The intensive experimental and theoretical investigation are made to
improve the performance of PCMs. This paper discusses in detail the fabrication and
thermal conductance measurement techniques, and mathematical modeling of PCMs
composites. Moreover applications of PCMs in TM and LTES system are also
mentioned with examples.

researches have encouraged the inclusion of additional variables to the TPB
framework that may help to increase predictability (Conner Armitage, 1998). In
research undertaken by Turchik Gidych, six variables were added to extend the
model, the first three; past behaviour, anticipated affect and moral norms, have

researchers have argued for their permanent inclusion in the model (Turchik Gidycz,

CI is the collection of information, internal, external and from competitors, but also
from customers, suppliers, technologies, environments, and potential business to

Competitive Intelligence (CI) comes from shadows of company secret agent (spy) vs.

17. The Big Bertha Project
The Big Bertha Project The City of Seattle enlisted the world s largest tunnel boring
machine called Big Bertha back in 2013. Since then, the boring machine has faced
numerous challenges. Since it s arrival to Seattle in 20113, Big Bertha has traveled
only 1,280 feet out of the 9,210 foot destination. At this point, the tunnel was
expected to be almost done by now. But, due to the errors occurring with the machine
and unexpected geographical problems it has set Seattle back by two years of
drilling. With so much time lost, many are questioning whether the city should
continue to support the project. The reason why Seattle is undertaking the drilling of
this underground highway is to have an alternative to the 99 Viaduct in case of a
major earthquake. The current highway system starts at the bank of downtown
Seattle s Waterfront. Engineers have determined that the Viaduct will not be safe at
all if a major earthquake strikes Seattle. One major issue today with Big Bertha is that

Corporate Charities The Right and Wrong Ways for Big Business to Give Back to the
Community Introduction
Why do people who have money feel inclined to give it away? Throughout history,
reasons for philanthropy have ranged from guilt to concern for personal image, from
religious principles to simple generosity. America is awash with corporateCEO s who
have so much money that they could never spend it in a lifetime. What is pocket
change to them could save thousands of lives in a third world country. And yet only
some of them choose to give their money away. Even then some of the ones who do

but is not indicative of anything good or noteworthy as will be come apparent in my

Some notable contributions Wal Mart has made to local communities include
giving over $85 million in community grants to date, $206 million to local United

Miracle Network (CMN), $80 million in scholarships since 1979 and $1.8 million in
environmental grants in the year of 2003. The scope of these charities, however, has
been limited to only those communities that have a Wal Mart store. The foundations
website even has a small disclaimer at the bottom saying that eligibility for funding
from the foundation requires that the program be in a Wal Mart community. So
wherever there is a Wal Mart store, there is philanthropy, but nowhere else. What is
ironic about this is the fact that the communities that are hurt most by the Wal Mart
Corporation are those that have a Wal Mart store! Ultimately all of Wal Mart s
claims of philanthropy can really be

The movement of Virginia Woolf s Kew Gardens is quite the mutineer towards the
traditional writing format of a beginning, middle and ending. Although, the story
does eventually end, Woolf creates a space in time within this story s reality where
there really is no beginning, nor a way to end it. We just become in the moment,
infinitely moving through space and time, observing all tiny details around us. To
analyze this story, we have to think of it as an abstract painting, and assume there
will be thousands of ways to articulate it, but no matter how long we spend looking
at it there will be still so much that we don t understand. That is the gist of how
inventively complex KewGardens is, and the only way we re going to decipher...

Within the first few sentences of Woolf s prose, we are immediately submerged into
a world of extreme detail, in the rich colors of the flowers and vegetation of a single
oval flowerbed, sitting in the center of the Royal Botanic Gardens of London:
From the oval shaped flower bed there rose perhaps a hundred stalks spreading into
heart shaped or tongue shaped leaves half way up and unfurling at the tip red or
blue or yellow petals marked with spots of colour raised upon the surface. (Woolf

closer and closer to the stock of a singled out flower. The narrator appears to have
found awe in the beauty of such flowers in nature based on these descriptions.
These vivid details come together to bring this scene to life by capturing the pure
aspects of the reader s senses: sight, smells, hearing, and feelings. The work of
Woolf s prose in this section of detail make the subjectivity and objectivity of the
narrative s voice as it focus on every little bright image that it finds moving or in
motion. In the next scene, we move further down to the ground of the flowerbed,
20. The Cause And Causes Of The American Revolution
The American Revolution started due to a defiance against Britain. The 13 colonies
located in America were getting heavily taxed due to Britain demanding money after
the French and Indian War. The British wanted the colonies to pay for their downfall
due to the British thoughts that the war was fought for their defense of the colonies.
Another cause of the revolution the Tax Act of 1773, and the Stamp Act. This caused
the frustration of the 13 colony states as they were constantly being taxed. The
people in the colonies revolted by not using British goods. Many colonists in order to
demonstrate their frustration by drinking coffee and not the beloved tea. This became
so large that violence soon plagued, and a more organized demonstration of
frustration became known as the Boston Tea Party. The American patriots began to
fight against the British Empire. The British began to send their army to try to
resolve the riots and have the colonists pay their taxes. The preceding year the
American patriots wanted to be dissolved from the British Empire. The colonists
wrote their perspectives down for their Declaration of Independence , which sought
after their freedom, to have their own rules and regulations and tax policies. The war
continued for a span of five years until Britain could no longer continue to their lack
of army. Once the war ended, we officially became the United Statesof America. The
colonists had developed a new state known as The Articles of Confederacy, which

24. Vasoconstrictor Effect
The beneficial effect of the vasoconstrictor as a component of local anaesthetic
carpule has been well documented. There are many types of vasoconstrictors that
differ in their selectivity on receptors. In particular, adrenaline remains the most
popular vasoconstrictor and it has a huge impact on the dental work in terms of the
various effects it provides when used as part of the local anaesthetic. 1,10
However, as with all drugs, vasoconstrictors interact with other medications or have
an enhanced impact on compromised body systems that make us cautious in using
them in some cases. 1,2 As a historical fact, Adrenaline was first discovered by Abel
in 1897 and was introduced to be part of the local anaesthetics in 1903 by Braun. 2

Local anaesthetics are naturally vasodilators; that makes their action shorter and less
profound. Adrenaline with its vasoconstrictive role increases the depth and the
duration hence makes the action of local anaesthetic more profound. 1,2,3,4,9 This
action is governed by many factors like the type of the anaesthetic used, the
concentration of the epinephrine and site of injection. For example, one study shows
that the use of the 1% Lidocaine with 1: 100 000 epinephrine has better anesthetic
effect in maxilla if compared with 4% Articaine without epinephrine. The same
review reports a study that shows 1% Lidocaine without epinephrine doesn t have an
effect when used for infiltration in the maxilla.1 In the mandible, one study shows
that epinephrine in a concentration of 1:100 000 significantly affects the duration and
onset of action of 4% Articaine. The author argues that other aspects such as intra
and post operative pain and injection pain remain unaffected. Hence it is suggested
that when this property is not needed, such as in simple extractions of lower teeth,
IANB with plain 4% Articaine can work well. 11Another beneficial effect of
epinephrine is related to producing hemostasis that helps with the visibility of the
working area and hence increases the efficiency and accuracy of certain procedures.9
It is evident that this effect is primarily governed by the concentration of the
epinephrine and the

Tannen
Women versus Men: The Art of Miscommunication There is often miscommunication
between the sexes, whether it is spouses, friends, siblings, or parents. The
miscommunication between the sexes is not intentional; it is simply because of the
differences in the way men and women think and interact. In Deborah Tannen s essay,
But What Do You Mean?, Tannen identifies the seven primary differences in which
men and women interact. Of the seven differences between women and men
interactions than Tannen points out, the most notable ones that I have seen to be
true are apologies, jokes, and criticism. Apologizing is, from what I have seen
growing up, probably the most misunderstood. Tannen points out in her essay that
women use the term I m sorry as a way for both parties in a conversation to take
part of the blame, and show equal footing or to show that it is okay. I have seen
plenty of examples of this, especially with my grandma and my aunt. When my
grandma would forget something, she would apologize, then my aunt would say that
it s okay, and then she would apologize to my grandma. Growing up, I did not
understand why my aunt would apologize, as it was not her fault, but reading Tannen
explain it in her essay, I understand that she was just saying it to tell my grandma that
it is okay and not to worry about it. Another reason that I have personally seen women
apologize more that Tannen did not elaborate on, is that when women are in
conversations about something bad

I Am About to Vol tear Your Mind Apart
Keyotta L. McRae
AP Literature Composition
Abstract
During the Restoration period and the Eighteenth Century , people were exposed to
new ideas that challenged their religious points of view. Many philosophers believed
in blind optimism and the reason behind that optimism was God. Although Voltaire
thought differently, and his lack of belief provoked him to write the novella Candide
to express his feelings toward the philosophy through the character Candide
experiences. Candide was raised believe in the philosophy , but through the
experiences he learned otherwise. This paper takes a peek into Voltaire s life that
allows the readers to understand how Candide came to its existence. Also this paper
focuses on the actual tragedies that occurred during this time period, and Voltaire s
usage of the tragedies to help inspire him to write the novella.
Opening Eye to The Restoration 18th century During this time period, the new
explanations that the people were exposed to began affecting some of the people s
religious points of view (Marshall, Mongello, Vignery, 2006). If comets were not
sent by God warn people, perhaps God didn t interfere at all in human affairs.
Perhaps the universe was like an immense piece of clockwork, set in motion by a
Creator who more or less withdrew from this perfect mechanism and let it run by
itself (Marshall, Mongello, Vignery, 2006). ...in the best of all possible
worlds,...all is for the best ( Voltaire, 1759). Many philosophers agreed that
whatever happened in a person s life was for the best; whether the event that took
place had a negative or positive impact to his or her life; however, Voltaire disagreed
with that philosophy. A Peek at Voltaire s Life
Francois Marie Arouet De Voltaire, the son of a notary and of Marguerite Daumard,
was born in Paris, on November 21st, 1694 ( Carmody F.J., 1967). His father s
associations introduced Voltaire into such aristocratic circles as that of the
Richelieus, and emphasized his desire, typical of the period to rise in social status
(Carmody., 1967). Voltaire went to school

personalized by the owner. While this definitely makes the home more livable for
that person, it makes it a hassle to sell, as potential buyers may be turned off by these
personal quirks.
However, if you and your clients are willing to depersonalize their home before
putting it on the market, you can almost instantly increase its value and sell it more

What Does It Mean To Depersonalize A Home?

30. Different Requirements For Sports Coaches
The DMSP model purpose is to identify a pathway for junior sports participants to
follow. Therefore, its relevance and importance to sport coaches who wish to be
successful is substantial. This model allows coaches to identify what category their
participaints are in, which enables coaches to cater for individual s specific training
needs. The model identifies that there are three possible pathways that can be
followed, each of which has varying characterisitics. The pathways are recreational
participationthrough sampling, elite performance through sampling, and elite
performance through early specialisation (Cote Fraser Thomas, 2007). Each of these
pathways needs to be understood by sport coaches. As the ideology upon which the
DMSP was constructed dictates coaches must be able to adapt their methods and
philosophy to cater for varying stages of development. A representation of the
different requirements for each pathway is exhibited by the varying amount of
deliberate play and deliberate pratice implemented throughout each stage. O Connor,
(2009) states that through the sampling years coaches should be employing a higher
level of deliberate play. Baker, Cote, and Abernethy, (2003) state that deliberate play
is vaulble in this context as it develops player perceptions of competence, which Kirk,
(2005) links to continued participation. O Connor further expands on this notion by
identifying that deliberate play aims to maximise enjoyment and creativity, which is

Common Knowledge: 17th Century Puritan Influence in Common Sense There can
be little doubt as to the fact that Thomas Paine was one of the most incisive minds of
the Enlightenment, an intellectual movement that began in Europe and quickly
spread to the surrounding continents including the United States of America, where
Paine immigrated to. The embracing of concepts such as Deism and other ideas that
favored man s prowess and knowledge over the traditional influence of a divine power
during the turn of the 18th century, was a fairly practical source of inspiration, if not
justification, for the Founding Fathers in their pursuit of an armed revolution against
Britain that would eventually result in the liberation of the colonies and the founding
of today s nation. Paine, of course, authored one of the most radical treatises
advocating this separation from the British rulers of the colonies when he penned
Common Sense, which was essentially a pamphlet widely disseminated amongst
colonists beginning in January of 1776. This date would prove to be of immense
importance both for Paine s work and the way in which the author wrote it, since it
was preceded months before by the beginning of the Revolutionary War. Yet, the most
prudent scholars cannot deny that despite the zeitgeist of Paine s day (The
Enlightenment), there are indisputable influences of the 17th century Puritan religion
that wove their way into Common Sense, and proved to be the deciding factor in how

Where friends became family in a week? Where the atmosphere is positive? Maybe
you haven t experienced this place, maybe you have. I have been to many places,
but the place I love best is Simpson Park. This place so innocent and sweet can
bring many people into one unity with Christ. Simpson Park Youth Camp isn t just
a camp, it is more than one thing. Simpson Park is a home, a tabernacle, a place
where being yourself and worshipping God isn t frowned upon. Where what you
wear doesn t matter, what you look like, or who your friends are. This beautiful
place can do many miraculous things. People become followers, relationships with
friends and Christ get renewed, where your faith is built up. New things can be
nerve wracking, but when I got to Simpson Park Youth Camp all the butterflies
flew away. Coming from church and receiving a blessing from the Northland United
Pastor, I was very nervous. Now that I was there I was excited and overjoyed. The
two hour drive to Romeo was already worth it. I gazed out the window and saw what
looked like a tiny village laid before my eyes. When I stepped out of the car I felt the
atmosphere change, it was like I stepped into a magical realm. Miranda and I walked

35. Examples Of Editing In Run Lola Run
The 1998 German film Run Lola Run interestingly told three separate narratives of
the same story and characters. Each of the narratives began the same way, however
each one saw a slight temporal or behavioral difference in the lives of Lola and
Manni, which caused drastically different outcomes for each of the separate realities.
The filmfollowed Lola and Manni s journey to acquire one hundred thousand dollars
to make up for Manni s loss of the money to his drug dealer. The same story was told
three separate times, and each story illustrated slight changes in the characters
timelines that drastically shifted the outcome of their situations. Through the use of
editing, the film was able to jump through time and space and clearly portray the
transition from one run to the next. The film also had a fast rhythm that captured the
frantic nature and peril of Lola and Manni s situation, with innovative editing
techniques such as showing the two shots of Manni and Lola side by side. Altogether,
the transitions were effective in telling the story with a unique, and clear sequencing
pattern that made sense and contributed to the thrilling atmosphere of the film.

most important of all Chagas disease. Chagas disease will be our only focus in the

Malaria for example was given recognition and Chagas disease was distorted as a
myth; which lead to a more dominant spread of T.cruzi throughout the Latin America
countries. Reason being why it was no longer believed was the fact that there were
significant problems trying to diagnose Chagas disease in the chronic stages. This
meant that men like Kraus believed that Chagas disease was not the culprit behind
the chronic stages and even later named the disease instead as parasitic thyroiditis
(Armus, 82). Rudolf Kraus was an experienced bacteriologist that came from
Europe and moved later to Argentina. He was very jealous of Chagas and
influenced others to betray him and instead provide information for Kraus. People
distorted much of Chagas work and it must be noted that his own friends as well

“Superorganism” That
A beehive is a complex and intricate superorganism that consists of different types of
bees, each doing a different job, to create, grow, feed, and protect the colony. Queen
bees, workers, and drones provide each a special function and unique responsibility to
maintain their colony and hive. Whether it is the Queen beelaying to grow new bees,
the drone bees mating with the Queen or the worker bees performing many other
functions, the beehive operates like a well oiled machine. The beehive itself is also
a fascinating and highly developed physical structure that exists in a way perfectly
suited for the needs of the bees. Unfortunately, for reasons scientists don t fully

If a young queen is produced during the winter, the colony would be in major
trouble because there are no male drones for her to mate with. Drones do not
appear to have any special effect on the colony and hive. They don t possess the
organs or senses to collect pollen and nectar, or have the was glands to build a
comb. The drones also cant protect themselves because they don t have a sting. A
drone is a powerful flyer and has large eyes that enable him to seek for young
queens that are ready to mate. His whole life s work is devoted to this job. The
broad abdomen of a drone is somewhat square at the end and has a fringe of hair,
and his head and antennas are larger than those of a worker or queen make him
different from all other bees. A colony carries no drones during the winter months,
because this would use up precious food. Also the young queens are only raised
during the summer, so there would no purpose for the drones in the winter. The
make drone comes from a unfertilized egg, while the fertilized eggs produce the
female workers. Worker bees do everything besides mating and egg laying. The
worker bees preform every task, besides mating and egg laying, in and out of the
hive. The newly emerged bees spend a few days on cleaning out vacant cells, and
during this time they consume the pollen that is stored in the hive. After a couple of
weeks of being a house bee, the young worker enters

As a young mothers pregnancyit is 1 in every 200 pregnancies to have this problem,
for older mothers the rate is 1 in every 20 pregnancies. (schonberg tifft, 2007) Some

39. Argumentative Essay On Transgenic Cats
Despite the societal discord that exists around the ethics of genetic modification,
certain genetically modified organisms (GMOs) undoubtedly offer incredible
opportunities for the advancement of medicine. In particular, transgenic domestic
cats have contributed to the generation of biomedical models of humandiseases over
the past several years. What have come to be known as glow in the dark cats are
actually cats whose somatic cells have been injected with fluorescent proteins via
transgenesis. Efficient techniques are indeed needed for introducing transgenes into a
living organism so that it will express a certain new trait and subsequently transmit
that trait to its offspring. The introduction of exogenous genes into living organisms
has the potential to treat, cure, and prevent diseases because it allows for the
manipulation of the organism s genomic structure.

By showing his readers the downfall of depending on men, Tennessee Williamsis
sending out a clear message to women to stand up for themselves and to be
independent. In contrast, the movie supports independence by having Stella stand
up for her newborn baby and herself by leaving Stanley. Why the stark difference
you ask? Back in the 1950s, the rape scene was considered controversial and taboo so
the director Elia Kazan was forced to punish Stanley by having his wife leave him
at the end of the film. Even the slight suggestion of a rape scene necessitated
Stanley s punishment. Realistically, Stella would ve stayed with Stanley because
she had no support for herself or the baby. Blanche s and Stella s reliance on men
and inability to support themselves are used to illustrate the subliminal pressure for
women to follow society s norms. Women without men are seen as weak, and those
who break away from their rigid social classes are looked down upon. Since these
social norms have been instilled into Blanche, she believes that she has to have a
man fawn over her feet at all times. She realizes that she is aging and thus by
engaging in sexual trysts with men, she thinks that she is still wanted and that she

Children need role models. Think back to when you were once a young child for
just a moment, do you remember specific times in your early childhood where
following the leader meant more then just simply; walking behind someone ? I
certainly trailed behind the footsteps of my own older brother quite frequently. More
so I was emotionally behind him one hundred percent in everything we did and
everywhere we went. In this short story, The Laughing Man you re taken on a similar
journey of follow the leader, with a few twists to keep you interested and hidden
away from the truth until the very end. Very much like an early Christmas morning
knowing you have presents waiting to be unwrapped, but not foreseeing what may

Deep within the rainforests of the Manu Provincial Park in Peru resides an indigenous
tribe of hunter gatherers known to us as the Mashco Piro tribe. This tribe has
remained un contacted by modern culture until recent years and as such, the tribe
continues to be a source of interest among anthropologists and civilians alike, for
whom the secluded nature and primitive cultureof these people generates curiosity.
The Mashco Piro tribe has actively avoided contact with non native individuals,
however in recent years there have been a handful of sightings and interactions with
the tribe reported, including a video of the tribe released by the Ministry of
Environment in Peru as well as photographs of tribe members released by Survival

With recent sightings and interactions becoming more and more prevalent many
different issues arise, and precautions must be taken. Following this, the Peruvian
government has banned any contact with the Mashco Piro people as they may come
into contact with bacteria and diseases for which they have not built up immunity.
Further, issues regarding the preservation of culture have also been brought to light in
