Science Technology Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of science and technology presents both challenges and
opportunities. On one hand, the vastness and complexity of the subject matter can be
overwhelming. Science and technology encompass a wide range of disciplines, from physics and
chemistry to computer science and biotechnology. The sheer volume of information available can
make it difficult to narrow down a specific focus and create a coherent narrative.
Furthermore, staying updated with the latest advancements in these fields is crucial, as
technology evolves rapidly. This requires continuous research to ensure the information presented
is current and relevant. Additionally, striking the right balance between technical details and
accessibility for a general audience can be challenging.
Another aspect to consider is the ethical implications of scientific and technological
advancements. Addressing these ethical concerns in a thoughtful and nuanced manner adds an
extra layer of complexity to the essay. It requires a deep understanding of the potential
consequences of various technologies on society, privacy, and the environment.
Despite these challenges, writing an essay on science and technology also offers the opportunity
to explore fascinating topics and showcase the impact of human ingenuity on the world.
Crafting a well-structured essay involves weaving together diverse ideas into a cohesive
narrative, making the information accessible to readers with varying levels of background
knowledge.
In conclusion, tackling a science and technology essay requires a delicate balance between
breadth and depth, staying current with rapidly evolving information, and addressing ethical
considerations. Despite the difficulty, the process of exploring and articulating the wonders of
scientific and technological progress can be rewarding. For those seeking assistance or looking
for professionally crafted essays, a variety of services, such as HelpWriting.net, offer support
in producing well-researched and expertly written content on a range of topics.

Building Inside The Home Assembling Industry
With low fund rates more Americans are acquiring homes than any other time in
recent memory, however the nature of these mass developed homes is dropping.
Envision crushing your spirit for a long time to put something aside for your first
home and losing it all and more on the grounds that your home succumbed to a blaze.
This is a typical illustration of what may happen when a house is inadequately
developed. Homedevelopers are neglecting the highly required wellbeing regulations
when figuring their financial plans. In the development business time is cash, and
when time is an issue presents are frequently made. It is these offerings that are
bringing down the guidelines of building inside the home assembling industry,
costing Americans... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Who ought to be considered responsible? Possibly we ought to punish the
development organizations for overlooking what may appear like immaterial
preparatory measures keeping in mind the end goal to finish ventures on time and
inside plan. Then again would it be advisable for us to turn to the greater picture and
inquiry the state or national level regulation offices for their slacking implementation
and rare improvement of these basic administrative codes? Wherever the issue starts
from, it needs to be determined before the bid of being an American mortgage holder
loses its distinction. All the more critically, property holders are at a money related
and physical danger in light of the fact that security and quality control has lost its
need.
Acquiring a house is commonly a standout amongst the most critical speculations an
individual or family may experience. Most regularly, homes are financed over
periods running from ten to twenty years, yet sometimes this is an abundant time for
the respectability of inadequately built homes to weaken. This raises much concern
inside state administrative offices that disregard the lacking quality in a large
number of homes fabricated every year. Orgs, for example, the Texas Department of
Regulation and Licensing and OSHA give strict rules covering a wide range of parts
of development so as to guarantee quality and security all through the business. These
regulations spread everything from flame
Analysis Of The Movie Spike Lee
Spike Lee is an Afro American director who has developed more fame and
importance in the last 20 years. He portrays his stories in a way that nothing is
fictitious and many of them are written about some real events. Lee has co
produced many of his films and has acted in some small roles within them.
According to IMDb (2016), Lee s work consists of: 26 films, 30 television
programs, 45 commercials, 15 short films, starred in several films, and was a
producer and writer of many other works. Although, his films are somewhat irregular
in terms of color palettes, shots, and exposition. Regarding the plot, he is considered
a drama director. Also, his works always emphasize action and occasionally comedy.
Based on all the above, Lee s career will be analyzed from his early work in the film
industry, his career, and some of his most notable and recognized works.
For example, in many of the films I have seen so far, Spike Lee tends to
substantiate his works in many cultural, social, and political problems: besides the
racism suffered by many African Americans in the United States mainly. Lee
became a director of promise with his first long film, She has to have it (1986),
according to McGowan (2014). This film was shot in around two weeks and cost
around $175,000 to make, but grossed more than $7 million, becoming in one of
the most profitable films created in 1986. Lee often takes a critical look at race
relations, political problems, crime, and violence. His film Do the
Kidney Stone Research Paper
I have chosen the topic about kidney stone because my favorite comic book series
featured it as a character. Kidney stones, also known as, Nephrolithiasis or Renal
Calculi, are crystalized lumps formed by insoluble calcium compounds (Kidney
Stones). Normally, the two kidneys in the human body are in charge of filtering blood
to produce urine. The urine travel down to the ureters, then into the urinary bladder,
and finally excreted through the urethra (Baxter, 2016a). When there is not enough
water to dilute the waste products, they stay in the kidneyand increase the risk of
stone formation. As waste stayed in the kidney, it start to build up and form into a
kidney stone. Depending on the size of the kidney stone, some may slide down the
urinary tract without causing any discomfort. However, because of the small
diameter of the ureters, large usually get stuck and block the flow of urine (Baxter,
2016c).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the size of the stone are less than five millimeters in diameter, it should pass
through the urinary tract without the need of surgery or medicine. However, if the
diameter of the stone are bigger than ten millimeters, then it must be removed by
surgery or lithotripsy (Baxter, 2016b). In order to determine what kind of kidney
stones have formed, a 24 hour urine sample, blood screen, calcium loading tests,
and stone analysis has to be performed (Baxter, 2016b). Men between the ages of
twenty to thirty are most likely to be diagnosed with kidney stones (Kidney Stones).
Approximately 70% of men and 10% of women are diagnosed with kidney stones by
the age of seventy
Sheet Mask Risk
Risk of Using a Sheet Mask Sheet masks have been super popular these days, and I
do sometime use them for fun. Yet, did you know that almost all sheet masks that
are not required to be kept in a fridge contain a lot of preserva tives? Imagine there
s some food wrapped in wet tissue in a zip lock bag. If it s kept at room
temperature for a long time, it will spoil and mold will start to grow, right? The
same principle applies to sheet masks too. Sheet masks contain lots of great natural
ingredients and these ingredients are like foods. Natural ingredients attract microbes,
so preservatives are needed to keep the natural ingredients in the mask fresh. Sheet
masks are fun and very moisturizing, so you might be using them very frequently, but
I highly suggest you limit how much you use them. If you can, check the ingredient
list first before you pur chase a sheet mask. Natural ingredients are great, but if the
mask has a lot of preservatives so you don t have to refrigerate it, those chemical
preservatives counteract the benefits of the natural in gredients, right?... Show more

The sole ingredient is the tofu skin, and it s shipped with ice like foods. Once you
receive it, you have to keep it in the fridge. This insures the safety of the product as
well as the quality. Let s check an ingredient list of a very popular sheet mask. Water

Premature Babies
What is a premature baby? A premature baby, is an infant that was born earlier than
the original due date. These types of pregnancy s can be unexpected or they may
be needed due to medical conditions. These babies are typically born much earlier
than most. While reading the information provided, all readers will learn: how
early preemies are usually born, what causes prematurity, also can prematurity
cause health issues. Preemies are born quite some time before their due date. Most
premature infants are born within three to four weeks earlier, than babies born at
their full forty weeks. Spacefem.com states that 31.8% of U.S babies are born at
forty weeks, it also states that 43.4% of the U.S babies are born prematurely. Some
babies just can t wait to make their appearance into the world so they come at 37
weeks or earlier says EveryWeekCounts.Com like mentioned earlier they may be
unexpected or needed due to medical situations. Preemies are born fairly early, earlier
than they should be. But sometimes it s best, whether it s for the baby or the mother.

When We Are Growing Up We All Dream To One Day Be
An Adult
When we are growing up we all dream to one day be an adult that is a part of the
working force, but we rarely see behind the curtain, we don t realize the stress that
comes with it. We as kids are unaware of the many problems that can be associated
with the workforce, being forced to work overtime to make ends meet with this
month s rent, or getting enough food to put food on the table, so almost inevitably,
we end up working overtime, so what are the negative effects of this considering
that we all will have to do it at some point. Let s begin by breaking down some
numbers regarding the workforce. About 10 percent of the workforce is assigned to
irregular and on call work shift times and this figure is likely low.1 Add to this the...

Generally working overtime can be harmful, increased risk of error when dealing
with medicine. While certain studies may show that working overtime can
actually benefit patient outcomes, a roaring majority leans towards overtime
negatively impacting the patient s. The effects of working overtime on someone
that is generally in stressful situations can be much more impactful than people in
other career fields. In inhome work staff medical errors are more likely to occur in
the caretakers that work overtime on 30 hour work weeks than workers that
worked 16 hour shifts a couple times a week. The increase in error is an
astonishing 35.9%. According to a study conducted in 2005 there is at least 1
injury for every 100 worker hours overtime in jobs that require 40 hours a week,
when targeting jobs that require working 60 hours every week when working
overtime your chance of injury was increased by approximately 23%. What are the
effects on the patient s of these medical workers. In hospital nurses patients
receiving shots or requiring the use of a needle where 16% more likely for injury
to occur to them if they are being serviced by a nurse that is working overtime. The
risk of serious injury is increased by 15.5% which is very concerning when you
considered that on average about 20% of all registered nurses are involved in
critical care, the percent of patients that sustain an injury from a drop or fall while
under the care of a nurse is also around
The Repressions Of Women In Le Morte DArthur By
Thomas Malory
The impressions of women throughout history influenced the way authors depicted
women in their works. The belief that women are the cause of men s problems dates
back to the bible s first chapter. The chapter lead men to believe the ultimate fall of
humanity was at the hands of a woman. Consequently, this belief has been carried
from generations to generations throughout history. The legend of Morgan Le Fay
changes behaviorally from evil and spiteful in Le Morte D Arthur by Thomas Malory
to kind and nourishing in Avalon from Vita Merlin by Geoffrey of Monmouth
because of the different notions of women throughout history. During the Middle
Ages women went from being their father s daughters to their husband s wives to
their children s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Certain individuals decided to change their beliefs. Some began to see women as
nurturing creatures rather than the bane of all of man s existence. This idea
reflects in the poem by Geoffrey of Monmouth, Avalon from the Vita Merlini .
This poem tells the tale of a beautiful island where nine sisters live. The sisters are
generous and kind to all who visit their home. The poem then shifts focus to
Morgan Le Fay, almost bragging that she may cure sick bodies (Geoffrey of
Monmouth). This differs from the Middle Age text greatly. Even the tone of the
poem is light and airy in contrast to the dark and mysterious tone of the earlier
story. The poem goes on to tell a story of Morgan Le Fay saving someone,
explaining she saved a man that had gone into battle with her own honorable hand
(Geoffrey of Monmouth). This man was her half brother Arthur, and whether the
characters know of their relation is a mystery to the audience. In the poem Morgan
Le Fay saves her brother; in the story she nearly kills him. It is clear the narrator of
the poem admires Morgan Le Fay, as shown by the use of word honorable to
describe her on many occasions. The depiction of the women in this story reflects
how some people felt toward women in the Modern Ages, and once again turning
life into art. Art imitates life in these two works. The societal beliefs of the Middle
Ages were prominently against women having any power, though there are always

Biblical Criticism In In The Beginning By Chaim Potok
Chaim Potok s novel, In the Beginning follows David Lurie s scholarly journey as
he begins to study biblical criticism despite the opposition he faces from his
community and family, who consider biblical criticism an anti Semitic practice of
tearing apart the word of the Torah (Potok 1975, 372 374). Lurie s examination of
what critical biblical scholars have said about the Torah, gives a reflection, in
narrative form, of how academic study of the Biblecan be used to find appropriate
meaning within it. In Lurie s case, pursuing the study of biblical criticism was
necessary for him to gain a deeper understanding about the origins of the bible, its
text and what modern scientific perspectives argued about their application. In
doing so, he understood that he would be able to better address the deeper
questions and criticisms that targeted the teachings of Judaism, and which the
orthodox viewpoint of his community chose not to explore because of their values
regarding how to observe the bible. The point Potok makes with this novel applies
even when thinking of the Bible outside the context of Judaism. That critical study
of the Bible is necessary in order to look past the cherished ideas people hold about
what the biblical text say so that we may see the layers and ideas we are not taught, to
understand the authority of the Bible in cultural, historical and modern contexts and
to reveal the contradictions within the Bible so that conclusions can be made on how
we should

b. Data shows validity when the test or tool used to obtain the data is believable. Two
different ways of determining validity is internal and external. Internal research will
show whether the research tool used has measured what the research determined from
the beginning it would measure. External research can be used to generalize what the
research found into other areas that are similar to the research. A researcher can use
three methods to find the validity of a test. The content method decides what content
is going to be measured in the research. The construct method involves the researcher
verifying a theory behind the research question and then whether the test is adequate
to give valid data. A third method is the criterion related method in which c. A

It`s true that strict rules and tight regulations are necessary they protect consumers,
customer safety, environment and other things. However sometimes it causes some
burdens on businesses. It always increases the cost of operations. Also turnaround
time for repairs was highly critical and cost for flight delay was extremely huge.
Customers might be upset or even shift to other airlines if delays caused them lose
the connecting flights. Thus, the cost of aircraft delays was crucial element in
engineering. Bargaining power of supplier, difficulty to forecast demand and harsh
competitions were other important issues in aviation industry. As a result of tight
aviation regulations airline companies, as a customer, were constrained in supplier
selection. Spare parts solely supplied by only single dominated supplier as called
OEM (original equipment supplier). The limited choice and high concentration of
OEM`s limited airline operators` negotiation power. According to the M. Porter`s
five force analysis aviation industry has low entrance barrier and it cause very
intensive competition between airlines operators. A few decades ago flying with
airline was very expensive for ordinary people but today everyone can benefit from
this because airline ticket prices have constantly and significantly fallen. Finally,
demand forecasting was very difficult. The forecast for spare parts is made based on
maintenance information, scheduled maintenance plans and past usage patterns.

The Epic Of Gilgamesh Flood
Throughout history, there have been many different stories, fables, and myths, all
deriving from many different cultures, but all with the same basic elements and
storylines. One of the common stories we see in these cultures histories, is that of
a flood that wipes out the human race. In all of the flood accounts, we can learn a
little about what these cultures believe. Some say a flood like this actually
happened, while others believe this to be a symbol for a greater message. All the
flood stories have many similarities, but also many differences, resulting from a
difference in cultural beliefs. Based on this alone, it is easy to conclude that these
stories must be a symbol for something greater, and didn t actually happen. To begin,

First, in The Epic of Gilgamesh, with Utnapishtim, he brings his wife, craftsmen,
and riches on his ship with him. In contrast to this, Noah only brings his family
along on his ship. Also in Noah s story, it rained for forty days and forty nights, the
water lasted for one hundred and fifty days, and he spent forty days on the
mountain. In Utnapistim s story, the flood only lasted for seven days, and he was
only stuck on the mountain for seven days as well. When stranded on the mountain,
Utnapishtim sent out three birds. First, a dove that returns, next a swallow that
returns, and finally a raven that leaves and does not return. While Noah is stuck on
the mountain, he only sends out two birds, but one of which he sends out multiple
times. First, a raven that returns, next a dove that returns, then the same dove that
returns, but this time with an olive leaf, and finally the same dove again that
leaves and does not return. In Noah s story, there is only one God that is the
destroyer, the protector, and the promise maker all in one. In Utnapishtim s story,
there are three different gods that fill these rolls. The god Enil is the destroyer, the
god Ea is the secret giver and protector of life, and the god Bellet ili is the promise
maker. At the ends of both stories, both Utnapishtim and Noah are rewarded, except
Utnapishtim is granted eternal life, whereas Noah is given another three hundred and
Educators And Their Influence Of Empathy
Educators and their Influence of Empathy in Students Merriam Webster defines
empathy as the feeling that you understand and share another person s experiences
and emotions: the ability to share someone else s feelings (Empathy, n.d.). Studies
show that already one year old children engage in situations in which an adult needed
help to accomplish an action overcoming problems. These results also show that
infants readily provided help to adults in most conditions in which they are able to
interact. Additional studies suggest that children s prosocial behaviors become more
differentiated and less dependent on communicative cues with increasing age (Paulus
et.al., 2015, pg. 55). These situations are important in the development of empathyin
children because it allows the child to interact with others and begin the stages of
empathy. Martin Hoffman s theory of empathy includes information that cognitive
development is directly related to the development of empathy (Johansson, 2008, pg.
36). As children grow and interact with others, levels of empathy become evident.
Hoffman suggests that there are four levels of empathy in children:
Global empathy In the first year children may match the emotions they witness (e.g.,
by crying when another infant is crying, but the emotion is involuntary and
undifferentiated).
Egocentric empathy From the second year on children actively offer help. The kind
of help offered is what they themselves would find

Essay on What Is Feudal Warfare
War amp; Society in Europe Midterm There were a number of conditions that
would lead to the emergence of feudal warfare in the early Middle Ages and there
would be an equal number that would lead to its decline in the later middle ages as
well yet to find the meaning of feudal warfare one has to look first at where this
notion came from, and that was Feudalism. Feudalism was a contrasting system
dealing with political and military relationships existing among members of the
higher social class, Kings, Lords and other owners of large lands in Western Europe
during the Middle Ages. The Feudal system started by the granting of fiefs, chiefly in
the form of land and labor, in return the lordwould receive political and... Show more

While the Magyars would avoid pitch battles as much as they could they would
still win one major battle on the River Brenta (Keegan). Yet even though they
would make it as far as France in the end they stood no chance against the
organized Armies raised by the Feudal lords. One of the more difficult threats that
faced early feudal warfare and would later on lead to the decline of it was the
threat from across the ocean. This threat turned out to be the Vikings from
Scandinavia starting in the early 800s they too were like the Huns employing hit
and run tactics but they were able to move further and with more mobility striking
from what is now Denmark and Norway they were able to sail far inland to the
heart of Europe. They posed a major threat to every other group the feudal style
armies of Europe had not seen tactics like this before. While these invades played a
role in the prevalence of Feudal war they are also connected to the decline of it,
even at the height of its power feudal warfare would not have the resources or
proper bureaucracy, or the ability to raise funds. This would lead to a bad economic
situation and after multiple invasions it would be impossible to field armies based on
the feudal system. As mentioned by Keegan Military means alone could not have
sufficed to contain the devastations wrought by the various raiders of the night and
tenth centuries. It was evident
Analysis Of An Inspector Calls
This was written in 1945 but was set in 1912. The play is written about a girl called
Eva Smith who dies of a suicide consequently, The Birling family are questioned
about her death. Mr Birling is shown as a capitalist because he only cares about
himself and his business rather than his workers and his community around him. An
Inspector Callsis a play about morality which teaches the character and the people
who are watching or reading the play, not only to care about themselves and how to
treat others around them. J.B Priestley uses An Inspector Calls play to show how in

Another way Mr Birling talks about social classes is when the Inspector Goole talks
about looking after everyone not just in your social class and Mr Birling s response
was You d think everybody has to look after everybody else, as if we are all mixed up
together like bees in a hive in this quote he is basically saying he only has to look
after people in his own class and not in other classes. This line Priestley uses a simile
to show a comparison between humans and animals. Mr Birling believed in
Individualism.
An Inspector Calls shows the way society worked in the year 1912. Throughout
that time, men were in charge which was called a patriarchal society, in the phrase
when you re married you ll realise that men with important work to do sometimes
have to spend nearly all there time and energy on their business . You ll have to get
used to that, just as I had to. This line shows that was the status quo also when men
are away they are always doing business even if you know they are not you just
have to accept they did not always have time for you. We can also see this when
Mrs Birling says Now Arthur if you have nothing more to say, I think Sheila and I
had better go into the drawing room and leave you, men. this line is showing that
when the men have to talk about business and important topics, women are not
allowed to be in the room, which is basically saying only

An Ethnic History of Europe Since 1945
Ethnicity, the rise of nationalism, the formation of new nation states in the aftermath
of the collapse of the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia and the peaceful split of
Czechoslovakia have become central topics for politics and scholarship in the 1990s.
Studies on ethnic conflict, nation building, and particular ethnic and minority groups
in Europe abounded throughout the last decade. However, a cohesive book that
provides a systematic and general picture of minority existence so far has been

for a challenging intellectual comparison leaving the reader with the question of what
the merits, but also the limits, of comparison are. The binding element offered by
Panayi is ethnicity that sets dispersed, localized, or immigrant minorities (the three
categories he uses) apart from majorities in a world of nation states. Thus, at the
outset of the book one expects to learn where the author places himself within the
camps of scholars who have passionately argued from the mid 1980s on about the
essence of ethnicity and nationhood. The reader is surprised from the outset that
Panayi does not bother with contextualizing his concept of ethnic groups and nations
within these debates. Instead we learn that ethnicity, nation, nationalism, nation state
and minority each [...] have a precise meaning which have become confused by [...]
over use in the media and social science discourse (p. 3 4). However, the
The Importance Of Paid Family Leave
Pregnancy and early child development is a fundamental aspect of human society, and
is pertinent to the development of a successfully functioning community. The
developmental and social progress of any civilization relies on children, as they will
compose the future working population. Therefore, a mother or father s involvement
in the child s development is of extreme importance, which is why family leavehas
been implemented all over the world. Family leave refers to the period of time
granted to the employee to care for their newborn child. As communities evolve
economically, financial stability is necessary, for what is perceived to be socially
successful for a child s development, which is why paid family leave is popular
throughout the world s nations. However, ABC News reports that the U.S. is only
one of three countries in the world that don t offer paid maternityleave (Kim, 2015);
the same is true for paternity leave. The United Statesgovernment has an interesting
track record dealing with family leave, but in order to analyze what the US
government and advocacy groups have done to solve this issue, there first needs to
be an understanding on why this issue is so difficult to resolve. The arguments that
support and oppose paid family leave in the United States are equally valid, therefore
causing a stalemate in the attempted policy making of legislative bodies. Paid family
leave is highly supported amongst many employed parents in the United States, and is

Responsibilities of Virginia Beach during a disaster.
The City of Virginia Beach upholds an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) that
defines all roles carried out during an emergency. Procedures are utilized
throughout each stage of the disaster by all involved agencies, in order to decrease
any adverse effects on the community. The state of Virginia utilizes the Incident
Command System for all large emergency response efforts. This system is a
structured system that coordinates local, regional, and federal organizations to
efficiently work together during mass casualties. Preparing for an emergency is a
collaborative effort between all members of the community and follows a mushroom
tier system during a disaster. All operations start at the local level of the population
and can possibly spread to regional and/or national resources. The level of resources
utilized depends on the level of destruction and demands that each event necessitates.

The city s Office of Anti terrorism and Disaster Preparedness, Director of Emergency
Management, Coordinator of Emergency Management, and the Deputy Coordinator
of Emergency Management are the officials that lead the city in the event of an

2. Body
2.1 History of Housing opened
The university opened the housing facilities for the students first time in its 10 year
history for the students for the 2011 12 academic year. The building location was
across the Market Street from the academic tower. University spokesman Steve
Infanti said the school expects to house up to 100 of its 822 full and part time
students in the building, which the school is operating under lease from city
developer Dan Deitchman.
Renovations are under way at the former Governor Hotel building at the southwest
corner of Market and Fourth streets. But Infanti said each finished unit will have
standard school provided furnishings, carpeting and window blinds, as well as Wi Fi
internet service. There also will be shared laundry and common areas, though
residents will be on their own for meals, which Infanti said in itself should provide a
jolt worth several hundred thousand dollars annually to the downtown economy
(C.T., 2017).
2.2Current Status of Student Housing
Currently, the school provides accommodation at two places at Harrisburg. First,
Residences on market place and second Market view place.

The Spirit Catches You And You Fall Summary
Culture plays a major role in the spirit catches you and you fall by Ann Fadiman.
Every chapter shares some aspect of Hmong history and culture: food, clothing,
language, family structure, birthing rituals, and so on. The Hmong traditionally
lived high in the mountains of Laos, where they practiced agriculture and subsisted
primarily on rice, vegetables, herbs, and occasionally pork and chicken if the family
could afford it. They believe most diseases have a spiritual cause that can be
alleviated through traditional forms of healing such as rubbing the skin with coins,
creating a vacuum by igniting cotton soaked in alcohol under a tiny cup, or drawing
disease out with an egg. A tvix neeb, or shaman, could conduct more powerful
healing; such a figure is thought to be able to get rid of evil spirits called dabs and
retrieve lost souls. Certain aspects of Hmong culture, such as taboos against medical
procedures, often conflict with the western culture of medicine, resulting in
communication issues. Other aspects, such as utilizing animal sacrifice in shamanic
ceremonies, to heal have led to conflicts with the American doctors to the point that
rituals were banned in hospitals. Lia lees outcome was preventable if communication

Richard Rodriguez
Growing up, people realize that around the time of reaching a mature state, education
has affected their personal family life in one way or the other. With that being said,
in his essay, The Achievement of Desire , Richard Rodriguez headed towards a path
where he was unconsciously distancing himself from his familyand becoming much
more independent than he had expected. Rodriguez gives the reader a sentimental
idea of the two contrary lives he had growing up, the life he had as a child, and the
life he has as an educated man. He continued believing in his aspiration of how
benefits of education can remarkably outweigh the past struggles of both his family
and himself. Like Rodriguez, I also, in the past, found some form of solitude... Show

Simultaneously, I never had the chance to learn the sole fluent language my father
knew, Bengali, and for this reason, as a child, I never had that intimate
conversation with my father. I too mentioned only small, obvious things and tried
to make our conversation seem like more than an interview , but because there was
really nothing else to talk about with my father, I wasn t able to develop a bond or
that father daughter connection with him that families normally have. As school
took up most of my time, my father and I never really had the time to have a heart
to heart conversation to catch up on what s been going on with each other s lives.
Fortunately, my story is not as melancholic as Rodriguez s because my father put an
effort into getting used to the ways and culture of America where he tried to keep at
least some form of relationship with me. Even though we speak in our own language
(he speaking in Bengali and I in English) when communicating with each other, my
father found a way not to alienate himself from his children. As for Rodriguez, it s
quite a depressing story, where he had that passionate relationship with his mother
once in the past which was eventually overshadowed by silence .
During the pinnacle of his bittersweet life, Rodriguez eventually realized that he had
sacrificed one of the biggest things in life to do what is best for himself, his family.

Love And Friendship In The Girl From Copenhagen By
Ruskin...
Use of Irony as a principle device to depict the theme of love and friendship in
Ruskin Bond s short story, The Girl from Copenhagen .
In the story The girl from Copenhagen what we see is a bond of love and friendship.
Here, there are many incidents, which invoke the universal feeling in the reader and
surprises one to see the vivid picture of the impossibilities.
The narrator, Ruskin Bond, makes it clear, in the very beginning of the story that it is
not a love story but a story about love.
The story is perfect blend of light Comedy, irony and surprises fulfilling some of the
basic premises of the story.

During his dance with Miss Ivors, he faces a barrage of questions about his non
existent nationalist sympathies, which he does not know how to answer
appropriately. Unable to compose a full response, Gabriel blurts out that he is sick of
his own country, surprising Miss Ivors and himself with his unmeasured response and
his loss of control.
Love seems impossible in The Dead. Lily is tired of the men who are only all
palaver and want they can get out of you, and Gabriel s aunts Julia and Kate and
his cousin Mary Jane are all unmarried. Miss Ivors seems married to her political
cause and Freddy Mallins to his drink. Certainly Gabriel loves Gretta, evidenced in
thoughts about her all night during the party and especially as they are making their
way homeward.
Nostalgia, a sentimental longing for the past and the people, places, and things
long gone, is a major theme in The Dead. The title itself is nostalgic, and the
characters in the story serve to reinforce this idea. Nearly every character, from
Gabriel and Gretta to Lily and Miss Ivors, has one foot in the past, idealising the
days gone by as compared with the current environment. Lily disdains the men that is
now and in her criticism we understand that she believes men in earlier generations
must have been more gentlemanly. Miss Ivors is certainly nostalgic, swept up in the
passion of the Irish revival, working to resurrect the language and culture from the
near dead.

Ficus Elastica Monologue
The morning smells like wood left out in the rain.
My Ficus awakes from the sun s scream. Watering is our daily ritual but it wasn t
always this way. When I first discovered my Ficus, I had no clue how to care for it.
I researched specific care for a Ficus and discovered many types of this plant.
Eventually, I came across photos of Ficus elastica and realized this is the type.
Home Depot provided me with instructions but their advice was dead wrong. My
Ficus was dying fast. Thankfully, I studied the history of Ficus elastica I didn t
realize how much care is required. But this information saved my Ficus life. The

I watered and supplied adequate sunlight but this was not enough. Since then, I
strayed from owning plants. This one time, a gathering of purple, pink, and green
plants lured me towards their direction. They begged for my ownership for a place
in my home. I was skeptic but decided to purchase a couple of them. Two of them
died in my hands. I swear I could feel their last breaths. The soil from their pots
crumbled between my fingers. Dandelions dismantled by the wind as fresh cut grass
stuck to the bottom of my sneakers.
This is my memory from age eight when I attended elementary school. I had little
regard to plants and flowers. At recess, green grass stains painted my knees. I would
search for Lady Bugs and roll around on the grass. In class, I received a green mark
for good behavior. Green always meant good except for the time I was attacked by a
frog. My childhood friend and I played with her pet frog for hours. One day, I tried to
kiss the frog a reference to Prince Charming. My friend and I joked if I kiss the frog
would it indeed turn into a prince. We were wrong, dead wrong because the frog
jumped on my face. But my Ficus is green and good. My Ficus

trauma patients were admitted for head injuries. Among the trauma cases, burn and
polytrauma were the second and third leading causes (15.3%) of admission.
Postoperative patients and medical patients accounted for the rest of the admitted
cases (28.2% and 27.6% of the cases respectively). The leading cause of admission
and death was trauma. Postoperative and medical causes of admission were also
significant. The mortality rate in the PICU was very high, and this could be due to
various factors. The overall mortality rate was 40%. The majority of the children
were in the age range of 10 14 years (38.8%).Of the 170 paediatric patients admitted to

Contamination In Gasland
Water contamination is a recurring theme in Wyoming. Encana Corporation, a natural
gas company in Wyoming, has planted over 50 oil wells in Pavillion Field,
Wyoming, and uses hydraulic fracturing, a technical machine that blasts a mix of
water and chemicals 8,000 feet into the ground, to drill for natural gas. During this
process, more than 596 chemicals are used and are deposited into groundwater, some
chemicals being potentially toxic. In regards to being transparent with the chemicals
that they use during hydraulic fracturing, Encana Corporation does not disclose this
information, and local residents who live nearby Pavillon Field learn the hard way, in
which they discover that their healths become negatively impacted and that their water

I also find it morally incorrect for the state government, despite listening to the
complaints of the people, to ignore the people s cry for safe drinking water while
investing interest in how hydraulic fracturing will produce capitalism for the
economy. The local residents of Wyoming whose rights to safe drinking water are
deprived center in on the analytical framework of Carolyn Merchant s argument in
her article, Interpreting Environmental History. According to Merchant, some key
themes in environmental history is the use of power and justice, as well as our
consciousness. For instance, in the case of the local residents in Wyoming, residents
face injustice as they are being deprived of their right to safe drinking water. Not only
that, but the costs to hydraulic fracturing are health hazards and water that is unfit for
consumption for residents; whereas, natural gas companies and state government
benefit from hydraulic fracturing because of the increased natural gas production,
source of capitalism being made from these drilling activities, and thousands of jobs
produced for people. And natural gas companies are conscious of how they are
negligent in responding to the complaints of residents in Wyoming; even now,
Encana Corporation and other natural gas companies
Colonialism In Brian Friel s Translation
Colonialism
Every country has their own culture and it is expressed through their own
traditional factors such as language and education. When a culture attempts to
dominate a different culture, individuals of minor culture could easily be isolated.
In Brian Friel s Translation, he shows a several issues that could be simultaneously
occurred by colonialism. The first scene of Translation takes a place at the Hedge
school which is where Manus and Owen s father Hugh is headmaster at and teaches
Greek, Latin and Gaelic. By setting a first scene at the school, Friel correlates
education with language. English isn t considered as a major language that students
should learn at the Hedge school. Students at Hedge school are educated to have their

This shows that Owen is the only medium of communication that can connect Irish
people and the British army as a translator and implies that there is going to be an
event which might affect the identity of Ireland. When Captain Lancey explains the
British government s plan of re naming places in Ireland to English to presume the
ownership of land, only Owen and Manus could understand him before Owen
translates his word for them. Friel expresses a short effect that could grow from the
collision of two cultures by the behaviour of villagers. When a culture attempts to
dominate a different culture, a conflict of ideology between the two cultures is
inevitable and which could cause some short term effects on individuals such as
confusion and growing apprehension that their culture might be replaced by the other
permanently. Re naming process is not only problem in presuming ownership of the
land but also the fact that by accepting English as the dominance language, they will
lose their own culture. Assimilation would create a hierarchical relationship in mind
of Irish people. To avoid this kind of unilateral communication is essential. Owen
doesn t translate exactly what Captain Lancey says to the villagers, instead he twists
his words to relieve them. Manus notices that Owen doesn t perform his job

Disney Swot Analysis
Discussion
Strength
Strength is a positive aspect internal to your business. Firstly, Walt Disney
Company has strong product portfolio. Walt Disney s products include broadcast
television network ABC and cable networks such as Disney Channel or ESPN,
which is one of the most watched cable networks in the world. Combining the large
audience reach of these cable networks, (ESPN has nearly 300 million and Disney
Channel 240 million subscribers) and the solid growth of cable television, Disney s
product portfolio provides a competitive advantage for the company over its
competitors.

Subsequently, this company has expands its movie production to new countries.
Disney has an opportunity to expand its movie production to such countries as India
or China, where movie production industries have developed good quality
infrastructure. This would result in lower movie making costs and more localized
movies for India and China s markets.
Threats
Threats are challenges created by an unfavorable trend may lead to decrease revenues
or profits. Intense competition is a Disney s threat. Disney operates in very
competitive industries such as media, tourism, parks and resorts, interactive
entertainment and others. The competitive background changes quite radically in the
media industry, where news and TV go online and new competitors with new
business models compete more successfully than incumbent media companies.
Disney s parks and resorts business segment also receives strong competition from
local competitors who can offer better adapted product. This results in growing
competitive pressure for Walt Disney Company.
Also, increasing piracy of Disney s products. The advancements in technology allow
copying, transmitting and distributing copyrighted material much easier. With an
increasing number of internet users and the speed of internet, this poses a great
risk to Disney s income, as fewer people would go to watch movies in a cinema or
buy its DVD, when it s freely available online.

Were the Dark Ages really Dark The Dark Ages is a layman s term that refers to the
Middle Ages. This was the time when The Roman Empire collapsed. After the
Roman Empire came the Italian Renaissance. During this time, there was also the
age of discovery. Many people refer to these as The Dark Agesbecause they look at
the negative things that characterized this time. A scholar called Francesco Petrarca
is the person who came up with that definition. He felt that the quality of Latin

The dark ages were not really dark. There were many positive things that developed
at this time. People developed culturally and intellectually. The reasons the dark
ages were not really dark are this age saw scientific foundations laid, art and
architecture and religious unity. Education institutions made scientific foundations
possible because people began to learn and they could apply the learnings in their
scientific research. Art and architecture also gained traction during these ages. For
example, art in the early ages was devoid of color and was only in religious forms.
After some time, artists began to experiment with different types and genres of art.
These art styles and pieces became a reference point for scholars today. One way
for people to appreciate art is to study the works of those who created art before
them. Religion became a unifying factor for people because they could believe in
teachings and doctrines. People became intuitive and they could understand the
creeds and canons of the religion. The Catholic Church was the main religion at the
time. It helped the west to develop because it prompted people to make commitments
to live right. All these show that the ages brought more good than

Wyatt Earp, born Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp, was born on March 19, 1848 in
Manmouth, Illinois to Nicholas and Virginia Earp. When Wyatt was two, his
parents moved him across the Mississippi River to Pella, Iowa. He was considered
a great western lawman. His first experience as a lawman was as a constable of
Lamar, Missouri for four months in the year 1870. In April, 1875, he was
appointed to the Wichita Kansas police force only to be released from that job on
April 2, 1876 for insubordination. After that, Wyatt moved to Dodge City, Kansas

A very historical event occurred soon after Wyatt took the detective job with
Wells, Fargo Company; the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. This event is very
controversial even today. According to the name of the event, the shutout occurred
in the back entrance of the O.K. Corral. Yet, according to the research that I have
done, the shootout actually occurred about half a block over from the O.K. Corral
in the side yard of ex mayor William A. Harwood and from there it spread out into
the middle of Fremont
Street. Of course, the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral sounds much better than the
Gunfight in Harwood s Yard and Fremont Street so I guess someone decided to
change it. O.K. Corral has much more of a Western ring to it. Personally, I think the
Gunfight in Tombstone sounds pretty good, but there s no point trying to change it
now.
Virgil, Wyatt s older brother, was Tombstone s city marshal at the time of the

He was also a deputy U.S. marshal. At the time of the gunfight, Wyatt considered

also some of the Old West s best known villains . The three Earp brothers; Virgil,

as a focal point in Descartes Meditations. Descartes defines error as a privation or
lack of some knowledge which somehow should be in me. As a thinking thing , which
he defines as a thing that doubts, understands, affirms, denies, is willing, is unwilling,
and also imagines and has sensory perceptions В№, Descartes must... Show more

Judgments made when there is some disparity between intellect and will are
potentially erroneous, and must be avoided due to this (pp.38 41). Descartes states,
...the scope of the will is wider than that of the intellect; but instead of restricting it
within the same limits, I extend its use to maters which I do not understand
(Descartes, 40). Error exists because of this, and it is seen in a complex interaction
between the faculty of intellect and the faculty of will. While it is clear that one
cannot become all knowing, he can be free of errors as long as no judgments are
made on subjects that are not completely understood. As the intellect merely presents
ideas in the mind, the errors made are in their judgments, and the incorrect use of
free will. It is important to be aware of the distinction between the faculty of free
will and the actual use of free will, as the faculty is perfect yet error may exist in its
use. Error is shown as a result of the incorrect use of the tools granted to us, and it
stands that error can be eliminated when these tools are only used to the best of their
ability; any further use is clearly how we come to err (p. 43).

Essay on HS320 Microbiology Unit1 Assignment
A Basic Understanding of Microscopy
Assignment 1
Kaplan University Microbiology
Since microorganisms are not visible to the eye, the essential tool in microbiology is
the microscope. One of the first to use a microscope to observe microorganisms was
Robert Hooke, the English biologist who observed algae and fungi in the 1660s. In
the 1670s, Anton van Leeuwenhoek, a Dutch merchant, constructed a number of
simple microscopes and observed details of numerous forms of protozoa, fungi, and
bacteria (Introduction to Microscopes, n.d.). During the 1700s, microscopes were
used to further explore on the microbial world, and by the late 1800s, the light
microscope had been developed. The electron microscope was developed in the
1940s, thus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another limitation is out of focus light from outside the focal plane reducing image
clarity or requiring constant adjusting. On the other hand, under the right conditions,
light microscopy allows for viewing of samples that are still alive. There are aids
such as fluorescent proteins, that can be used to track proteins in real time in cells
though the viewing of where the proteins are may not be very high in resolution, you
may see roughly where the protein is in the cell, but will not be able to see the shape
of the protein itself. Lastly confocal light microscopy gives moderately higher
resolution, and significant enhancements in optical sectioning by limiting out of
focus light.
The Electron Microscope
In electron microscopy, on the other hand, a beam of electrons with a negative
charge, instead of light is sent through a very thin slice of the specimen. Because the
electron beam has a far smaller wavelength than light used in light microscopy, it
achieves far better resolution, the current resolution of limit of the best electron
microscope is approximately 0.05 nm atomic resolution, and 4000X better
magnification than that of a conventional light microscope (BSP, S., 2010). This
means that with an electron microscope you can potentially achieve enough
magnification to observe the shape of the protein machinery that carries out the work
inside of cells. The major limitation of electron microscopy is that specimen
Socrates Vs Cepachus
Socrates is invited into Polemarchus home, he begins to engage in a conversation
with Cephalus where they eventually discuss the meaning of justice using Socratic
dialectic. A Socratic dialectic is a cooperative discussion where common opinions,
that most people will say when asked, are exchanged through socialization. To
showcase Socratic dialecticin the conversation, Cephalus answers Socratesquestion
and states his own view of what is justicewhich is to follow the law, which is divine,
and to tell the truth. Socrates begins to engage Cephalus stance on justice which
leads to the deduction behind his viewpoint. Cephalus reasoning for this definition
hails from his elderly age where his wealth is enabling him to be just via paying...

Socrates and Thrasymachus discuss examples of such proficient individuals such
as a doctor or a pilot and their roles such as the doctor who is sought by those who
require medical care or the pilot who is commander of the sailors, Thrasymachus
citing these examples as proof of his claims. Socrates uses Thrasymachus examples
to counter his argument by claiming it is the exact opposite by stating how the
doctor is the one who is dependent on the sick for his art, and if there were no sick
people, he would be useless and thus powerless. The pilot depends upon his men to
accept his authority and follow his commands, for if they so desired, they could
easily mutiny and overthrow him. This can be applied to the rulers of a nation, as
they may also not know if the laws they are implementing can be good or not,
which also carries the risk of losing the support of the masses. Socrates makes the
case that without all these people to rule, the doctor, pilot, and ruler would all find
themselves without power for it comes from the ruled, after which the discussion
turns to these positions being self centered such as the doctor being a wage earner
and not concerned over their distribution of
The Development Of Human Growth And Development
Essay
Human growth is a fact of life we all experience it whether we want to or not. It is
what we are expected to do. There are many theories that are associated with human
growth and development but one thing that remains true throughout is that all
humans go through stages of development from birth to death. We all experience
change in our life times. These changes help to shape us as human beings and
hopefully as well adjusted human beings. Everything from our environment to our
learning styles to our interactions with others can be described as human
development and growth. Our interactions with scripture and how we interpret it is
also part of our development. The Bible should play an important role in our
development. It should be one of the many factors that contribute to it. We, as
Christians, should learn what the bible says about human growth and development
so that we may pass it on to future generations. Since we are relentlessly trying to
explore human behavior, it should seem reasonable to Christians that their source of
knowledge, the bible, should be used as the textbook on intellect and human
behavior. This should be the most authoritative textbook on the subject of human
behavior. It is respected, it is impartial, and should be the final word on the subject.
It should not matter whether people accept the principles of God s Word or whether
they agree with them or not, because every one (young, old, rich, poor, black, white,
legal or illegal) are
Serial Killer Nature Vs Nurture
Serial Killers: Nature vs. Nurture
Crime over the years has become a very popular subject. There are countless movies,
shows, books and documentaries about such events. Individuals are very entertained
for one reason or another by these types of shows. There have been many
discussions, debates and research studies done particularly pertaining to the question
What causes someone to become a serial killer? Psychologists, criminologists and
scientists agree that the Nature nurture debate is the most essential phenomenon in
psychology. Researchers have conducted a lot of research to be able to answer the
question What causes a person to commit a murder? . The popular and logical
hypothesis is that criminal behavior is more complicated than it had been thought
and they say that a person s genetic makeup creates criminal behavior (It is called
nature.) While others suggest that criminal behavior is solely related with a
person s upbringing and life experience (It is called nurture.) (Newton 2006). Both
opinions of this subject are on polar opposite sides. While one side states that if0
someone has a rough childhood and are faced with severe adversity they have a
greater chance of becoming a serial killer. An example would be Edmund Kemper.
The opposing side states that a person is born with a certain set of genes that could
turn them into a serial killer. A prime example would be Ted Bundy or Charles
Manson. This is a highly diverse debate among scientists and criminologists
Get Out Of Your Own Way Research Paper
Get Out of Your Own Way First!
Often we are influenced heavily by our peers, family and friends to do certain
things or say certain words. Sometimes they hinder us or pose as an obstacle to what
we want to achieve in daily life. However, most times the major obstacle that s
preventing you from getting where you want to get to is yourself.
As we all know, the mind is a very powerful thing and your own mind can have a
powerful control or influence over what you do, say or think. It is one of the many
contributing factors that prevent you from achieving what you want to achieve. If
you want to get out of your own way, take small steps in identifying what your mind
is telling you. Is there a voice in your head that speaks negative words or talks ...

Having a happy childhood experience can aid your development, whereas having
an abusive childhood experience could lead to an abusive or criminal life. There
have been studies conducted on this and do show that childhood experiences play
a significant role in determining what the child would grow up to be like in the
future. So what have your childhood experiences showed you? Take a moment to
reflect on what has happened in your childhood and how it affected you, be it a
positive or negative way. Did you take any happiness or trauma away from it?
Does it come back to you when you re peacefully reminiscing about the past or are
you haunted by your childhood experiences through dreams or nightmares?
Whatever your answer may be, take it and use it to your advantage. Everyone s
childhood experiences are unique, and it is ultimately up to you to shape it as part
of your learning experiences on the journey of life. Don t necessarily let it define
you for who you were back then. Use your childhood experiences as a platform to
base what you want to define yourself as. You re not that naГЇve little kid anymore.

Six Steps In Conflict Resolution
Conflicts in intimate relationships subsist inevitable. Despite the degree to which
individuals stand alike, differences in opinions and beliefs will transpire. This chapter
taught me that it does not stand as the topic of disagreement that retains importance,
but rather the way in which the couple resolves the conflict. According the text, six
steps exist to aid in conflict resolution; The steps are: (1) clarifying the issue; (2)
finding out what each person wants; (3) identifying various alternatives; (4) deciding
how to negotiate; (5) solidifying agreements; and (6) reviewing and renegotiating
(Olson, DeFrain, Skogrand, 2014, p. 154). Upon reading the descriptions and facts, I
find these six steps to rest highly effective and imperative to conflict resolution. When
a disagreement emerges, couples tend to play the blame game, ignore their parent s
perspective, and explore for a quick solution. While it stands evident that these
behaviors do not persist effective, these six steps provide a solution. Although I do
find these six steps to exist accurate, I cannot guarantee how realistic they stand. Just
as any other process, to remain realistic, the steps require two individuals who value
their relationships and desire its continuation. This process requires individuals to not
only voice their opinion, but also to clarify, identify, and negotiate this issue at hand.
These steps will not occur with ease or speed, but they will sanction for the complete
resolution of
The Drug Of Drug Testing Welfare Recipients
Drug Testing Welfare Recipients To test or not to test has been has been the
question at hand for many states that are dealing with whether or not to pass the
law that welfare recipients should or should not be drug tested in order to receive
assistance from the government. Florida was the first state to mandate the law in
2011 and thereafter twenty four other states in the last year have also passed this
law in our own state of Oklahoma being one of them. Although alcohol is legal it is
abused far more than marijuana or hard core drugs, According to the 1996 study by
the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism the differences between the
proportion of welfare and non welfare recipients using illegal drugs are statistically
insignificant. Although some states have decided to pass the law for welfare
recipients in order receive government assistance, I believe it s ineffective to drugtest
these welfare recipients in order to receive their benefits. Welfare in the United States
commonly refers to the federal government welfare programs that have been put in
place to assist the unemployed or underemployed. Help is extended to the poor
through a variety of government welfare programs that include the Women, Infants,
and Children Program, which is referred to as WIC, Medicaid, and Temporary
Assistance to Needy Families commonly known as TANF and Aid to Families with
Dependent Children. Drug testing welfare recipients is negative because drug tests
performed on welfare
“the Case for Contamination” by Kwame Anthony
Appiah Essay
Article: The Case for Contamination by Kwame Anthony Appiah In The Case for
Contamination the author Kwame Appiah analyzes and points out the many ways in
which the world is becoming globalized. He uses many extensive examples to show
that the world is getting contaminated . By contamination he means that the mixture
of all the innovative values and traditions are damaging and eventually destroying
what our ancestors have left us. In his analysis, he describes the gradual
transformation of many cultures and different religions to support his points but in
his personal opinion he is very open minded and is not greatly influenced by his
religion. His tone is informative and gives the reader the freedom to decide between...

Thus, people who are attempting to preserve cultures by denying this right to new
opportunities are trapping people in ideals they rather change. Once a culture accepts
the innovations that come along with globalization it depends on each community to
either completely transform their way of living or keep their traditions. As Appiah
notes, how people respond to these cultural imports depends on their existing cultural
context (Appiah 3) meaning that people interpret the innovations according to their
former beliefs and cultures since things might change but their mentality does not.
However, in my opinion globalization has more advantages than disadvantages and
it is up to each individual to apply those advantages for the best while still following
their old traditions. For example, families that are secure and rich usually have the
power to control their children in guiding and supporting them throughout their
teenage lives. Hence, the younger generations are more open to following their
family traditions. However, the families that have issues to support their families by
using food stamps or working 3 different jobs usually have less influence and control
over their children. Therefore, these children begin to question their families core
values and traditions and begin to adapt their own new way of life. Nevertheless,
religion is something
A Short Note On The Components Of Radar
4.1 COMPONENTS OF RADAR
Radars are extremely intricate electronic and electromagnetic frameworks and
complex mechanical frameworks as well. Radar frameworks are made out of a wide
range of subsystems, which themselves are made out of various segments. There is
an extraordinary assorted qualities in the configuration of radar frameworks taking
into account reason, yet the basic operation and fundamental arrangement of
subsystems is the same.
4.1.1 ANTENNA
Recieving wire is an article which utilized as a move between wave spreading in free
space, and the fluctuating voltages in the circuit to which it is joined. A reception
apparatus either gets vitality from an electromagnetic field or transmits
electromagnetic waves created by a high recurrence generator It guarantees that the

similarly in all headings. This sort of radiation is known as isotropic radiation.
Radar recieving wire is profoundly directional so more vitality is proliferated in our

The vitality emanated from a reception apparatus shapes a field having an
unequivocal radiation design. A radiation example means plotting the transmitted
vitality from a reception apparatus and this vitality is measures at different points at
a steady separation from the recieving wire. The state of this example relies on
upon the sort of radio wire utilized. The radiation of a recieving wire is mix of

Amee Latour s Article Analysis
INTRODUCTION
Self esteem is essentially how you feel about yourself and how you judge your
value. It is a state of mind that can be changed. These days many people are having
low self esteem issues. In this article by Amee LaTour, she has talked about what
are the causes of low self esteem. She presents her points in the form of an article.
This paper will review Amee LaTour s arguments and will assess the quality of her
writing and concentrate on any zones of shortcomings in this article.

One if it is she used to many bombastic words in her writing. This might cause the
reader to be confused with what they are reading. For example the usage of the
word existential crisis (Amee LaTour 2014) (p.14) (line 108). This problem also
continued when she used the word inadequate (Amee LaTour 2014) (p.12) (line 95).
Another shortcoming in this article is that it is hard to know where to go with
LaTour s arguments. In expressing her concerns about the causes of low self esteem,
LaTour thinks that the choices a person make can improve their self esteem (p.18)
(line142) . This is an unrealistic argument. The choices that a person might not be the
only affect of this issue as their surrounding and environment can also be a factor of
having low self esteem. CONCLUSION
This critical review has reviewed an article 8 common causes of low self esteem by
Amee Latour . This article is very interesting and factful. It offers the dark side of
having low self esteem issues. She does a good job in making her article reader
friendly. However her writing is weakened by the presence of bombastic words and

Why Do Unhealthy Foods Be Taxed
It would be more effective if unhealthy foods were taxed because then the people
that are eating all the unhealthy foods wouldn t be able to eat as much of all those
unhealthy choices. All those things that are being taxed are the healthy foods that
are good for you. This is one of the things that is becoming a big problem with all the
people who are getting sick from all the unhealthy foods they are eating.
Some of the reasons that people eat and drink all the unhealthy foods is because
they are cheaper than buying all the healthy nutrients that you body needs to survive
and thrive. Although the government thinks that all the attempts to the solution to
taxing unhealthy foods aren t working, but I think that all the foods that are being
taxed are the healthy produce that will go bad in a couple of weeks or even days.
One of the solutions to this is that if there are less and less of the unhealthy foods
there will be less and less of the unhealthy people in the United States. Some people
think that where someone lives is based on what they eat and that can be true, but if
we just make less of the unhealthy foods, we will live longer lives and thrive more.
All these different attempts to trying to get the government ... Show more content on

One of the other reasons that people are wanting to eat more and more of the
unhealthy foods is because there are more of the different product being made.
There are more and more produce being made and wasted because it goes bad before
everyone can buy it. This puts farmers and packagers in a drought because they are
not able to produce all the different crops for the market. If there is lower food
income from the farmers, there will be less food to sell to the different stores. If
there is lower income for the stores, the farmers don t get paid as much as they need
to keep their farms going. This puts lots and lots of people in a loss of
Extensible Business Reporting Language Analysis

connection with the SEC s disclosure modernization initiative. In a Fact Sheet

would require the use of Inline XBRL format for the submission of operating

The proposal would also eliminate the requirement for filers to post XBRL data on

It is possible that any new obligations and associated costs could be significant. On
April 7, 2017 the DOL finalized a 60 day delay in the applicability date of the new
fiduciary rule. On May 22, 2017 the DOL issued a New Temporary Enforcement
Policy on the Fiduciary Rule, stating that during the phased implementation period
ending on January 1, 2018, the [DOL] will not pursue claims against fiduciaries
who are working diligently and in good faith to comply with the fiduciary duty
rule and exemptions, or treat those fiduciaries as being in violation of the fiduciary
duty rule and the exemptions. On June 9, 2017 compliance with the Fiduciary
Rule was generally required. However, the day before, on June 8, 2017, the House
of Representatives passed the Financial CHOICE Act, which includes a provision
to rescind the Fiduciary Rule, this Act is still pending in the Senate, and analysts
state that the Republicans will face a difficult task to gather enough votes to pass
the legislation. On July 3, 2017, the DOL filed an amicus brief in a case
challenging the fiduciary rule, in which the agency conceded that the portion of the
BIC Exemption that would require providers to waive contractually the ability to
insist on arbitration and to consent to being sued in a class action (in relevant part
currently suspended) is invalid under other federal law. On August 31, 2017, the
DOL published a proposal to delay (from January 1, 2018 to July 1, 2019) the

Science Technology Essay. Role of science and technology essay. The Role Of Science And ...

  • 1. Science Technology Essay Writing an essay on the topic of science and technology presents both challenges and opportunities. On one hand, the vastness and complexity of the subject matter can be overwhelming. Science and technology encompass a wide range of disciplines, from physics and chemistry to computer science and biotechnology. The sheer volume of information available can make it difficult to narrow down a specific focus and create a coherent narrative. Furthermore, staying updated with the latest advancements in these fields is crucial, as technology evolves rapidly. This requires continuous research to ensure the information presented is current and relevant. Additionally, striking the right balance between technical details and accessibility for a general audience can be challenging. Another aspect to consider is the ethical implications of scientific and technological advancements. Addressing these ethical concerns in a thoughtful and nuanced manner adds an extra layer of complexity to the essay. It requires a deep understanding of the potential consequences of various technologies on society, privacy, and the environment. Despite these challenges, writing an essay on science and technology also offers the opportunity to explore fascinating topics and showcase the impact of human ingenuity on the world. Crafting a well-structured essay involves weaving together diverse ideas into a cohesive narrative, making the information accessible to readers with varying levels of background knowledge. In conclusion, tackling a science and technology essay requires a delicate balance between breadth and depth, staying current with rapidly evolving information, and addressing ethical considerations. Despite the difficulty, the process of exploring and articulating the wonders of scientific and technological progress can be rewarding. For those seeking assistance or looking for professionally crafted essays, a variety of services, such as HelpWriting.net, offer support in producing well-researched and expertly written content on a range of topics. Building Inside The Home Assembling Industry With low fund rates more Americans are acquiring homes than any other time in recent memory, however the nature of these mass developed homes is dropping. Envision crushing your spirit for a long time to put something aside for your first home and losing it all and more on the grounds that your home succumbed to a blaze. This is a typical illustration of what may happen when a house is inadequately developed. Homedevelopers are neglecting the highly required wellbeing regulations when figuring their financial plans. Who ought to be considered responsible? Possibly we ought to punish the development organizations for overlooking what may appear like immaterial preparatory measures keeping in mind the end goal to finish ventures on time and inside plan. Then again would it be advisable for us to turn to the greater picture and inquiry the state or national level regulation offices for their slacking implementation and rare improvement of these basic administrative codes? Wherever the issue starts from, it needs to be determined before the bid of being an American mortgage holder loses its distinction. All the more critically, property holders are at a money related and physical danger in light of the fact that security and quality control has lost its need. Acquiring a house is commonly a standout amongst the most critical speculations an individual or family may experience. Most regularly, homes are financed over periods running from ten to twenty years, yet sometimes this is an abundant time for the respectability of inadequately built homes to weaken. This raises much concern inside state administrative offices that disregard the lacking quality in a large number of homes fabricated every year. Orgs, for example, the Texas Department of Regulation and Licensing and OSHA give strict rules covering a wide range of parts of development so as to guarantee quality and security all through the business. These regulations spread everything from flame
  • 3. Analysis Of The Movie Spike Lee Spike Lee is an Afro American director who has developed more fame and importance in the last 20 years. He portrays his stories in a way that nothing is fictitious and many of them are written about some real events. Lee has co produced many of his films and has acted in some small roles within them. According to IMDb (2016), Lee s work consists of: 26 films, 30 television programs, 45 commercials, 15 short films, starred in several films, and was a producer and writer of many other works. Although, his films are somewhat irregular in terms of color palettes, shots, and exposition. Regarding the plot, he is considered a drama director. Also, his works always emphasize action and occasionally comedy. Based on all the above, Lee s career will be analyzed from his early work in the film industry, his career, and some of his most notable and recognized works. For example, in many of the films I have seen so far, Spike Lee tends to substantiate his works in many cultural, social, and political problems: besides the racism suffered by many African Americans in the United States mainly. Lee became a director of promise with his first long film, She has to have it (1986), according to McGowan (2014). This film was shot in around two weeks and cost around $175,000 to make, but grossed more than $7 million, becoming in one of the most profitable films created in 1986. Lee often takes a critical look at race relations, political problems, crime, and violence. His film Do the
  • 4. Kidney Stone Research Paper I have chosen the topic about kidney stone because my favorite comic book series featured it as a character. Kidney stones, also known as, Nephrolithiasis or Renal Calculi, are crystalized lumps formed by insoluble calcium compounds (Kidney Stones). Normally, the two kidneys in the human body are in charge of filtering blood to produce urine. The urine travel down to the ureters, then into the urinary bladder, and finally excreted through the urethra (Baxter, 2016a). When there is not enough water to dilute the waste products, they stay in the kidneyand increase the risk of stone formation. As waste stayed in the kidney, it start to build up and form into a kidney stone. Depending on the size of the kidney stone, some may slide down the urinary tract without causing any discomfort. However, because of the small diameter of the ureters, large usually get stuck and block the flow of urine (Baxter, 2016c).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the size of the stone are less than five millimeters in diameter, it should pass through the urinary tract without the need of surgery or medicine. However, if the diameter of the stone are bigger than ten millimeters, then it must be removed by surgery or lithotripsy (Baxter, 2016b). In order to determine what kind of kidney stones have formed, a 24 hour urine sample, blood screen, calcium loading tests, and stone analysis has to be performed (Baxter, 2016b). Men between the ages of twenty to thirty are most likely to be diagnosed with kidney stones (Kidney Stones). Approximately 70% of men and 10% of women are diagnosed with kidney stones by the age of seventy
  • 5. Sheet Mask Risk Risk of Using a Sheet Mask Sheet masks have been super popular these days, and I do sometime use them for fun. Yet, did you know that almost all sheet masks that are not required to be kept in a fridge contain a lot of preserva tives? Imagine there s some food wrapped in wet tissue in a zip lock bag. If it s kept at room temperature for a long time, it will spoil and mold will start to grow, right? The same principle applies to sheet masks too. Sheet masks contain lots of great natural ingredients and these ingredients are like foods. Natural ingredients attract microbes, so preservatives are needed to keep the natural ingredients in the mask fresh. Sheet masks are fun and very moisturizing, so you might be using them very frequently, but I highly suggest you limit how much you use them. If you can, check the ingredient list first before you pur chase a sheet mask. Natural ingredients are great, but if the mask has a lot of preservatives so you don t have to refrigerate it, those chemical preservatives counteract the benefits of the natural in gredients, right?... While reading the information provided, all readers will learn: how early preemies are usually born, what causes prematurity, also can prematurity cause health issues. When We Are Growing Up We All Dream To One Day Be An Adult When we are growing up we all dream to one day be an adult that is a part of the working force, but we rarely see behind the curtain, we don t realize the stress that comes with it. We as kids are unaware of the many problems that can be associated with the workforce, being forced to work overtime to make ends meet with this month s rent, or getting enough food to put food on the table, so almost inevitably, we end up working overtime, so what are the negative effects of this considering that we all will have to do it at some point. • 8. The Repressions Of Women In Le Morte DArthur By Thomas Malory The impressions of women throughout history influenced the way authors depicted women in their works. The belief that women are the cause of men s problems dates back to the bible s first chapter. The chapter lead men to believe the ultimate fall of humanity was at the hands of a woman. Consequently, this belief has been carried from generations to generations throughout history. The legend of Morgan Le Fay changes behaviorally from evil and spiteful in Le Morte D Arthur by Thomas Malory to kind and nourishing in Avalon from Vita Merlin by Geoffrey of Monmouth because of the different notions of women throughout history. During the Middle Ages women went from being their father s daughters to their husband s wives to their children s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Certain individuals decided to change their beliefs. Some began to see women as nurturing creatures rather than the bane of all of man s existence. This idea reflects in the poem by Geoffrey of Monmouth, Avalon from the Vita Merlini . This poem tells the tale of a beautiful island where nine sisters live. The sisters are generous and kind to all who visit their home. The poem then shifts focus to Morgan Le Fay, almost bragging that she may cure sick bodies (Geoffrey of Monmouth). This differs from the Middle Age text greatly. Even the tone of the poem is light and airy in contrast to the dark and mysterious tone of the earlier story. The poem goes on to tell a story of Morgan Le Fay saving someone, explaining she saved a man that had gone into battle with her own honorable hand (Geoffrey of Monmouth). This man was her half brother Arthur, and whether the characters know of their relation is a mystery to the audience. In the poem Morgan Le Fay saves her brother; in the story she nearly kills him. It is clear the narrator of the poem admires Morgan Le Fay, as shown by the use of word honorable to describe her on many occasions. The depiction of the women in this story reflects how some people felt toward women in the Modern Ages, and once again turning life into art. Art imitates life in these two works. The societal beliefs of the Middle Ages were prominently against women having any power, though there are always some

  • 10. Biblical Criticism In In The Beginning By Chaim Potok Chaim Potok s novel, In the Beginning follows David Lurie s scholarly journey as he begins to study biblical criticism despite the opposition he faces from his community and family, who consider biblical criticism an anti Semitic practice of tearing apart the word of the Torah (Potok 1975, 372 374). Lurie s examination of what critical biblical scholars have said about the Torah, gives a reflection, in narrative form, of how academic study of the Biblecan be used to find appropriate meaning within it. In Lurie s case, pursuing the study of biblical criticism was necessary for him to gain a deeper understanding about the origins of the bible, its text and what modern scientific perspectives argued about their application. In doing so, he understood that he would be able to better address the deeper questions and criticisms that targeted the teachings of Judaism, and which the orthodox viewpoint of his community chose not to explore because of their values regarding how to observe the bible. The point Potok makes with this novel applies even when thinking of the Bible outside the context of Judaism. That critical study of the Bible is necessary in order to look past the cherished ideas people hold about what the biblical text say so that we may see the layers and ideas we are not taught, to understand the authority of the Bible in cultural, historical and modern contexts and to reveal the contradictions within the Bible so that conclusions can be made on how we should

Internal research will show whether the research tool used has measured what the research determined from the beginning it would measure. External research can be used to generalize what the research found into other areas that are similar to the research. A researcher can use three methods to find the validity of a test. The content method decides what content is going to be measured in the research. The construct method involves the researcher verifying a theory behind the research question and then whether the test is adequate to give valid data. A third method is the criterion related method in which c. The Epic Of Gilgamesh Flood Throughout history, there have been many different stories, fables, and myths, all deriving from many different cultures, but all with the same basic elements and storylines. One of the common stories we see in these cultures histories, is that of a flood that wipes out the human race. In all of the flood accounts, we can learn a little about what these cultures believe. Some say a flood like this actually happened, while others believe this to be a symbol for a greater message. All the flood stories have many similarities, but also many differences, resulting from a difference in cultural beliefs. • 15. Educators And Their Influence Of Empathy Educators and their Influence of Empathy in Students Merriam Webster defines empathy as the feeling that you understand and share another person s experiences and emotions: the ability to share someone else s feelings (Empathy, n.d.). Studies show that already one year old children engage in situations in which an adult needed help to accomplish an action overcoming problems. These results also show that infants readily provided help to adults in most conditions in which they are able to interact. Additional studies suggest that children s prosocial behaviors become more differentiated and less dependent on communicative cues with increasing age (Paulus et.al., 2015, pg. 55). These situations are important in the development of empathyin children because it allows the child to interact with others and begin the stages of empathy. Martin Hoffman s theory of empathy includes information that cognitive development is directly related to the development of empathy (Johansson, 2008, pg. 36). As children grow and interact with others, levels of empathy become evident. Hoffman suggests that there are four levels of empathy in children: Global empathy In the first year children may match the emotions they witness (e.g., by crying when another infant is crying, but the emotion is involuntary and undifferentiated). Egocentric empathy From the second year on children actively offer help. The kind of help offered is what they themselves would find

Feudalism was a contrasting system dealing with political and military relationships existing among members of the higher social class, Kings, Lords and other owners of large lands in Western Europe during the Middle Ages. While the Magyars would avoid pitch battles as much as they could they would still win one major battle on the River Brenta (Keegan). Yet even though they would make it as far as France in the end they stood no chance against the organized Armies raised by the Feudal lords. One of the more difficult threats that faced early feudal warfare and would later on lead to the decline of it was the threat from across the ocean. This threat turned out to be the Vikings from Scandinavia starting in the early 800s they too were like the Huns employing hit and run tactics but they were able to move further and with more mobility striking from what is now Denmark and Norway they were able to sail far inland to the heart of Europe. They posed a major threat to every other group the feudal style armies of Europe had not seen tactics like this before. While these invades played a role in the prevalence of Feudal war they are also connected to the decline of it, even at the height of its power feudal warfare would not have the resources or proper bureaucracy, or the ability to raise funds. This would lead to a bad economic situation and after multiple invasions it would be impossible to field armies based on the feudal system. As mentioned by Keegan Military means alone could not have sufficed to contain the devastations wrought by the various raiders of the night and tenth centuries. It was evident

Studies on ethnic conflict, nation building, and particular ethnic and minority groups in Europe abounded throughout the last decade. However, a cohesive book that provides a systematic and general picture of minority existence so far has been missing. The last section is dedicated to the role of the state in recognition of minority existence of minorities, and briefly describes the role of modern media in their inclusion or exclusion. The author s approach, including indigenous as well as migrant minorities, provides for a challenging intellectual comparison leaving the reader with the question of what the merits, but also the limits, of comparison are. The binding element offered by Panayi is ethnicity that sets dispersed, localized, or immigrant minorities (the three categories he uses) apart from majorities in a world of nation states. Thus, at the outset of the book one expects to learn where the author places himself within the camps of scholars who have passionately argued from the mid 1980s on about the essence of ethnicity and nationhood. The reader is surprised from the outset that Panayi does not bother with contextualizing his concept of ethnic groups and nations within these debates. Instead we learn that ethnicity, nation, nationalism, nation state and minority each [...] have a precise meaning which have become confused by [...] over use in the media and social science discourse (p. 3 4). The Importance Of Paid Family Leave Pregnancy and early child development is a fundamental aspect of human society, and is pertinent to the development of a successfully functioning community. The developmental and social progress of any civilization relies on children, as they will compose the future working population. Therefore, a mother or father s involvement in the child s development is of extreme importance, which is why family leavehas been implemented all over the world. Family leave refers to the period of time granted to the employee to care for their newborn child. As communities evolve economically, financial stability is necessary, for what is perceived to be socially successful for a child s development, which is why paid family leave is popular throughout the world s nations. However, ABC News reports that the U.S. is only one of three countries in the world that don t offer paid maternityleave (Kim, 2015); the same is true for paternity leave. The United Statesgovernment has an interesting track record dealing with family leave, but in order to analyze what the US government and advocacy groups have done to solve this issue, there first needs to be an understanding on why this issue is so difficult to resolve. The arguments that support and oppose paid family leave in the United States are equally valid, therefore causing a stalemate in the attempted policy making of legislative bodies. Paid family leave is highly supported amongst many employed parents in the United States, and is

Every chapter shares some aspect of Hmong history and culture: food, clothing, language, family structure, birthing rituals, and so on. The Hmong traditionally lived high in the mountains of Laos, where they practiced agriculture and subsisted primarily on rice, vegetables, herbs, and occasionally pork and chicken if the family could afford it. They believe most diseases have a spiritual cause that can be alleviated through traditional forms of healing such as rubbing the skin with coins, creating a vacuum by igniting cotton soaked in alcohol under a tiny cup, or drawing disease out with an egg. A tvix neeb, or shaman, could conduct more powerful healing; such a figure is thought to be able to get rid of evil spirits called dabs and retrieve lost souls. Certain aspects of Hmong culture, such as taboos against medical procedures, often conflict with the western culture of medicine, resulting in communication issues. This one time, a gathering of purple, pink, and green plants lured me towards their direction. They begged for my ownership for a place in my home. I was skeptic but decided to purchase a couple of them. Two of them died in my hands. I swear I could feel their last breaths. The soil from their pots crumbled between my fingers. Dandelions dismantled by the wind as fresh cut grass stuck to the bottom of my sneakers. This is my memory from age eight when I attended elementary school. I had little regard to plants and flowers. At recess, green grass stains painted my knees. I would search for Lady Bugs and roll around on the grass. In class, I received a green mark for good behavior. Green always meant good except for the time I was attacked by a frog. My childhood friend and I played with her pet frog for hours. One day, I tried to kiss the frog a reference to Prince Charming. My friend and I joked if I kiss the frog would it indeed turn into a prince. We were wrong, dead wrong because the frog jumped on my face. But my Ficus is green and good. My Ficus

Of the total number of patients 170 admitted, 34.7% were trauma cases, 45.8% of whom died. The highest percentages, 69.5%, of trauma patients were admitted for head injuries. Among the trauma cases, burn and polytrauma were the second and third leading causes (15.3%) of admission. Postoperative patients and medical patients accounted for the rest of the admitted cases (28.2% and 27.6% of the cases respectively). The leading cause of admission and death was trauma. According to Merchant, some key themes in environmental history is the use of power and justice, as well as our consciousness. For instance, in the case of the local residents in Wyoming, residents face injustice as they are being deprived of their right to safe drinking water. Not only that, but the costs to hydraulic fracturing are health hazards and water that is unfit for consumption for residents; whereas, natural gas companies and state government benefit from hydraulic fracturing because of the increased natural gas production, source of capitalism being made from these drilling activities, and thousands of jobs produced for people. And natural gas companies are conscious of how they are negligent in responding to the complaints of residents in Wyoming; even now, Encana Corporation and other natural gas companies

When a culture attempts to dominate a different culture, individuals of minor culture could easily be isolated. The first scene of Translation takes a place at the Hedge school which is where Manus and Owen s father Hugh is headmaster at and teaches Greek, Latin and Gaelic. Friel expresses a short effect that could grow from the collision of two cultures by the behaviour of villagers. When a culture attempts to dominate a different culture, a conflict of ideology between the two cultures is inevitable and which could cause some short term effects on individuals such as confusion and growing apprehension that their culture might be replaced by the other permanently. Re naming process is not only problem in presuming ownership of the land but also the fact that by accepting English as the dominance language, they will lose their own culture. Art and architecture also gained traction during these ages. For example, art in the early ages was devoid of color and was only in religious forms. After some time, artists began to experiment with different types and genres of art. These art styles and pieces became a reference point for scholars today. One way for people to appreciate art is to study the works of those who created art before them. Religion became a unifying factor for people because they could believe in teachings and doctrines. People became intuitive and they could understand the creeds and canons of the religion. The Catholic Church was the main religion at the time. It helped the west to develop because it prompted people to make commitments to live right. All these show that the ages brought more good than

The Meditations by Rene Descartes In Descartes Meditations, his goal to prove the existence of things could only be accomplished if he was logical, clear, and correct in his thoughts and writings. The most important issues he noted were the threat of being deceived and the potential of being incorrect in his judgments, both of which would lead him into error. Error exists as a problem that individuals encounter on a regular basis, and it also exists as a focal point in Descartes Meditations. Descartes defines error as a privation or lack of some knowledge which somehow should be in me. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Judgments made when there is some disparity between intellect and will are potentially erroneous, and must be avoided due to this (pp.38 41). Descartes states, ...the scope of the will is wider than that of the intellect; but instead of restricting it within the same limits, I extend its use to maters which I do not understand (Descartes, 40). Error exists because of this, and it is seen in a complex interaction between the faculty of intellect and the faculty of will. While it is clear that one cannot become all knowing, he can be free of errors as long as no judgments are made on subjects that are not completely understood. As the intellect merely presents ideas in the mind, the errors made are in their judgments, and the incorrect use of free will. It is important to be aware of the distinction between the faculty of free will and the actual use of free will, as the faculty is perfect yet error may exist in its use. Error is shown as a result of the incorrect use of the tools granted to us, and it stands that error can be eliminated when these tools are only used to the best of their ability; any further use is clearly how we come to err (p. 43). In the 1670s, Anton van Leeuwenhoek, a Dutch merchant, constructed a number of simple microscopes and observed details of numerous forms of protozoa, fungi, and bacteria (Introduction to Microscopes, n.d.). Another limitation is out of focus light from outside the focal plane reducing image clarity or requiring constant adjusting. On the other hand, under the right conditions, light microscopy allows for viewing of samples that are still alive. There are aids such as fluorescent proteins, that can be used to track proteins in real time in cells though the viewing of where the proteins are may not be very high in resolution, you may see roughly where the protein is in the cell, but will not be able to see the shape of the protein itself. Lastly confocal light microscopy gives moderately higher resolution, and significant enhancements in optical sectioning by limiting out of focus light. The Electron Microscope In electron microscopy, on the other hand, a beam of electrons with a negative charge, instead of light is sent through a very thin slice of the specimen. Because the electron beam has a far smaller wavelength than light used in light microscopy, it achieves far better resolution, the current resolution of limit of the best electron microscope is approximately 0.05 nm atomic resolution, and 4000X better magnification than that of a conventional light microscope (BSP, S., 2010). This means that with an electron microscope you can potentially achieve enough magnification to observe the shape of the protein machinery that carries out the work inside of cells. The major limitation of electron microscopy is that specimen

There are many theories that are associated with human growth and development but one thing that remains true throughout is that all humans go through stages of development from birth to death. We all experience change in our life times. These changes help to shape us as human beings and hopefully as well adjusted human beings. Everything from our environment to our learning styles to our interactions with others can be described as human development and growth. Our interactions with scripture and how we interpret it is also part of our development. The Bible should play an important role in our development. It should be one of the many factors that contribute to it. We, as Christians, should learn what the bible says about human growth and development so that we may pass it on to future generations. Since we are relentlessly trying to explore human behavior, it should seem reasonable to Christians that their source of knowledge, the bible, should be used as the textbook on intellect and human behavior. This should be the most authoritative textbook on the subject of human behavior. It is respected, it is impartial, and should be the final word on the subject. It should not matter whether people accept the principles of God s Word or whether they agree with them or not, because every one (young, old, rich, poor, black, white, legal or illegal) are

There have been many discussions, debates and research studies done particularly pertaining to the question What causes someone to become a serial killer? Psychologists, criminologists and scientists agree that the Nature nurture debate is the most essential phenomenon in psychology. Researchers have conducted a lot of research to be able to answer the question What causes a person to commit a murder? . The popular and logical hypothesis is that criminal behavior is more complicated than it had been thought and they say that a person s genetic makeup creates criminal behavior (It is called nature.) While others suggest that criminal behavior is solely related with a person s upbringing and life experience (It is called nurture.) (Newton 2006). Both opinions of this subject are on polar opposite sides. While one side states that if0 someone has a rough childhood and are faced with severe adversity they have a greater chance of becoming a serial killer. An example would be Edmund Kemper. The opposing side states that a person is born with a certain set of genes that could turn them into a serial killer. A prime example would be Ted Bundy or Charles Manson. This is a highly diverse debate among scientists and criminologists

Despite the degree to which individuals stand alike, differences in opinions and beliefs will transpire. This chapter taught me that it does not stand as the topic of disagreement that retains importance, but rather the way in which the couple resolves the conflict. According the text, six steps exist to aid in conflict resolution; The steps are: (1) clarifying the issue; (2) finding out what each person wants; (3) identifying various alternatives; (4) deciding how to negotiate; (5) solidifying agreements; and (6) reviewing and renegotiating (Olson, DeFrain, Skogrand, 2014, p. 154). Upon reading the descriptions and facts, I find these six steps to rest highly effective and imperative to conflict resolution. When a disagreement emerges, couples tend to play the blame game, ignore their parent s perspective, and explore for a quick solution. While it stands evident that these behaviors do not persist effective, these six steps provide a solution. Although I do find these six steps to exist accurate, I cannot guarantee how realistic they stand. Just as any other process, to remain realistic, the steps require two individuals who value their relationships and desire its continuation. This process requires individuals to not only voice their opinion, but also to clarify, identify, and negotiate this issue at hand. These steps will not occur with ease or speed, but they will sanction for the complete resolution of

As Appiah notes, how people respond to these cultural imports depends on their existing cultural context (Appiah 3) meaning that people interpret the innovations according to their former beliefs and cultures since things might change but their mentality does not. However, in my opinion globalization has more advantages than disadvantages and it is up to each individual to apply those advantages for the best while still following their old traditions.
