Essay About Friends
Crafting an essay on the theme of friendship presents a unique challenge, as it requires a delicate
balance between personal experiences, emotions, and a broader exploration of the concept. The
complexity arises from the intricacies involved in capturing the essence of friendships, which can
be highly subjective and nuanced.
One of the difficulties lies in avoiding clichГ©s and superficial expressions commonly
associated with the topic. While it's tempting to resort to generic statements about the
importance of friends and the value they add to our lives, a compelling essay demands a deeper
exploration. Striking the right chord between depth and relatability requires introspection and the
ability to articulate personal experiences authentically.
Another challenge is steering clear of overly sentimental or idealized portrayals. While it's natural
to want to celebrate the positive aspects of friendship, an effective essay should also
acknowledge the complexities and challenges that come with interpersonal relationships.
Balancing the portrayal of both joyous moments and inevitable conflicts requires a nuanced
approach.
Moreover, finding a unique angle or perspective that sets the essay apart from others on the same
topic can be daunting. With countless essays on friendship available, distinguishing one's work
requires originality and creativity. Whether drawing from personal anecdotes or incorporating
diverse cultural perspectives, the essay should strive to offer fresh insights that resonate with the
reader.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of friendship demands a delicate blend of
introspection, authenticity, and creativity. Overcoming the challenges of clichГ©s,
sentimentality, and achieving uniqueness in perspective can be a formidable task. However,
navigating these challenges can result in a profound and engaging exploration of the complexities
and joys inherent in the bonds we share with our friends.

Jack Doesn t Want For Start An Outbreak
Another Place, Another Time
Jack didn t want to start an outbreak. What eleven year old did? He didn t even
want to find The Kingdom. All he wanted was to get away from his babysitter,
Susanne. Now his whole town was infected with the Sickness, and it was all his fault.
He sat in his room, his back against the locked door, staring at his hands. The hands
were the first sign of Sickness. A slimy, black ooze would drip off your fingers,
seemingly coming from nowhere. He d seen it on his mom, and on Susanne, and on
the whole town. Now he saw it on himself. It spread up your arms and throughout
your body, turning your skin the color of midnight. You were still yourself then,
though. You were still you, until the Sicknessreached your brain.
Jack watched the black droplets splashing onto the ground and melting into the
floor boards. He knew he had to do something about the Sickness that had rapidly
taken his whole town. He swung his backpack over his back and put a cap on over
his fair haired head. Then he climbed out the window (thankfully, his room was on
the first floor) and started running towards the only place he could think to go: The
woods.
He recalled three weeks ago, when he had done the same. Jack had come to the
woods many times as a child. He loved the fresh air and cool breeze that came with
entering it. It reminded him of his father, who had gotten very sick and died a year
and three weeks before. On that day he had come here to be alone, and that s when
Nonverbal Communication In Nursing Essay
The importance of communication is the essential foundation of nursing practise; it is
primarily dependant upon verbal and non verbal communication. Encompassing both
speech and behavioural aspects, efficient delivery and receiving of the nurse patient
messages initiates advantageous relationships, or contrarily, generates significant
repercussions if applied ineffectively, thus affecting the quality of the nurse patient
relationship. This essay will discuss how effective verbal and non verbal
communicationin nursing practice will facilitate a mutually satisfying therapeutic
nurse patient relationship. It will firstly discuss verbal communication, followed on
by the complementary non verbal communication and lastly listening. However, for...

These styles of non verbal communication can be grouped together to form body
language. Chambers (2003) also adds touch, physical appearance and passive
listening . Through careful consideration of those non verbal signs, nurses are able to
gain a more profound insight into the emotional needs and experiences of patients,
thus encouraging additional patient investigation (Stein Parbury, 1999).
Clearly these signs of non verbal communication together with appropriate use will
endeavor to enhance the nurse patient relationship. According to Caris Verhallen,
Kerkstra Bensing (2002, p. 809) to express warmth and empathy the nurse need to
make eye contact with the patient . However, eye contact is a special exception in
non verbal communication (Vernallen, Kerkstra Bensing, 2002). It can reveal some
hidden and profound feelings that cannot be expressed in another manner that will
serve as a role in emphatic connection (Benjamin, 2005). For instance, in western
culture, looking people in the eye is assumed to indicate honesty and straight
forwardness, in Latin and Asian cultures it represents aggression and/or disrespect
(Le Roux, 2002). Certainly in these circumstances, the importance of limiting eye
contact and touch in appropriate cultures and regarding them as culturally dissimilar
ensures patient misinterpretation is avoided.
Additionally the use of touch can in some cultures be a sensitive issue for example in
the Muslim culture,

Imagine you were in the 1970s and someone told you that soon computers take
over everything from shopping to dating and that you would even own a handheld
device much more powerful than a computer. It would have seemed completely
ridiculous to say that but now all of that has happened. Science fiction has become
our reality and we don t even realize it. Today we re at a similar point in time but
with genetic modification. So why don t we talk about it where it came from what
we re doing right now and about a recent breakthrough that will change how we
live and what we perceive as normalforever I. Man has been editing life for millions
of years. Through a process called selective breeding, we strengthened valuable
qualities in plants and animals. We never really understood how selective breeding
and other methods really worked until the discovery of deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA
. You can imagine DNA a comprehensive instruction manual that instructs you body
to grow and reproduce. In the 1960s, sciences shot plants with a variety of
radiations. The radiations caused random mutations or defects in the plants, such as
roots growing in the wrong place. In the 90s the flavor saver tomato made its way to
shelves around the country. This genetically modified tomato had an extra long shelf
life due to an extra gene inserted that slowed down the buildup of enzymes that
caused rotting. The problem with these methods is that they were very time to
consume and cost a lot.
How Did The Triangular Trade Affect The Spread Of
African...
Many wonder about the spread of the African race. The answer to that mystery leads
back to the Transatlantic Slave Trade/Middle Passage. The Transatlantic Slave Trade
/ Middle Passage is the reason for the wide spread of the African society altogether.
The first stage included manufactured goods like clothing, food, and artilleries and
transporting them from Europeto Africa. The second stage was known as the Middle
Passage where the enslaved Africans would be shipped to the Americas. The third and
final stage of the trade was the shipment of the produce from the enslaved Africans to
Europe. The fifteenth century is when the trade began, and the Portuguese interests
for Africa turned from its natural resources and into its people who they will pursue
as slaves. The triangular trade included the Americas, England, and Europe.... Show

Africans were being forced to different lands. The forced removal caused the
separation of tribes and families. Prior to the Transatlantic Slave Trade, Africa was
well rounded. The great country was filled with historical monuments and valuables.
The communities were diversified and most were politically stable. For example,
some were kingdoms and others were city states. In some kingdoms like the empire
of Songhai, many advancements were taking place. The people of the kingdom were
learning and engaging in the advancement of art and technology. Also, many would
create items using domestic resources like ivory, gold, and bronze for local trade and
use. Many Africans were resourceful which demonstrates their brilliance and
uniqueness. Africans role in the world is more than significant. Africa has an
overwhelming amount of things to offer. The Transatlantic Slave Trade caused a
huge twist in the world for every single country. Europeans greed caused many

Triple Bottom Line In Tesco
Triple Bottom Line (TBL) is a concept, invented in 1994, that it has come up with
the three factors that company should follow in order to become sustainable
including people, planet and profit ( Triple bottom line , 2009). In the present time,
many companies are more aware of becoming a sustainable company. This is
because of the fact that many people today believe that in order for big corporations
to become successful, they must try to become sustainable. Tesco is an example of a
big corporation that is currently aware of the TBL. However, it seems like there are
still negative aspects of their sustainability.
Established in the United Kingdom, Tesco is one of the biggest retailer companies
that is now expanded all around the world. Tesco ... Show more content on

of apple from Tesco that was dumped into the trash each year which is the total of
28,000 tonnes. In addition to the article, Tesco is trying to find the solutions for
this leftover products. One of their solutions is to create an awareness campaign
including advertising in order to raise an awareness to the society about this
problem (Cardwell, 2013). Moreover, Tesco has also tried to reduce electricity
consumption. According to the organization that studied about people s living
condition in Europe called EMCC (2013), Tesco is responsible for 5.4 million
tonnes of carbon emissions in the UK, which its main cause is due to a high
electricity consumption. Therefore, they have come up with a strategy of reducing
their consumption. They have come up with a project called Zero Carbon business
, which its idea is to try to make as least of carbon emission as possible, even if
their expense will increase (EMCC, 2013). In addition, to EMCC (2013), one of the
ways that Tesco decided to do is to work collaboratively with non governmental
organizations (NGOs) in order to invent the new technologies that can help
companies reduce their carbon emissions. However, there are still many people who
believe that Tesco has not done enough to helping the environment. According to the
Describe The Victorian Era
The Victorian Age (1830 1901)
Introduction
The Victorian era is a term used to refer to the period during which Britain was
under the control of Queen Victoria. It was a period that was different from all the
other periods in the history of Britain. The Victorian era was before the Georgian
era. This period of British history has lasted about 63 years, starting from when
Queen Victoria began to rule in 1837 and ended when she died in 1901.
This essay aims to completely describe the Victorian era, the reason why I choose
this era specifically is because one of the greatest novels that I have read were
written in that era, therefore I would like to analyze this era in order to know what
happened in that era and what influenced the authors to write such great novels.

During the Victorian era, women did not have any rights, and they were abused
and oppressed, as a result, policies in against discriminatory laws were existed.
Women could not vote, could not own a property and they could not hold
professional jobs apart from teachers or a domestic servant, factory workers or
agricultural labors. At that time society did not consider that women need a proper
education and consequently it was only for men. As a result, it was rare to find
women in skilled jobs that required higher or intermediate education. Women then
were generally expected to be housekeepers or housewives .The role of women did
not go beyond a wife or mother who took care of her children and maintained her
house of her husband in proper order. Furthermore, the status of women their rights
and duties cannot be generalized since they varied according to the social class a
woman come from. That means social class determines the traditional of women s
life in which they live and work depending
Exclusionary Rule And The Rule Of Law
Exclusionary Rule
Many constitutions all over the world provide basis for innocence until proven
guilty. As such, the courts of law must always factor in the provisions of criminal
procedure and natural justice when cross examining offenders. In light of this, the
exclusionary rule allows a defendant to argue his case if his privacy rights were
violated before arraigned in court. In essence, the provisions of the exclusionary rule
prevent the government authorities and machinery such as FBI and CIA from
gathering evidence from an individual in a manner that disrespects the United States
constitution. Therefore, the exclusionary law protects an individual against
unreasonable search or seizure in line with the provisions of the Fourth ... Show more

In addition, the freedom to information by government authorities must not
exceedingly surpass the rights and privileges that citizens enjoy (Re and Richard, pg.
1887).
What is more, the exclusionary rule provides that the extra evidence obtained
because of unreasonable search or seizure will not be used in a court of law, as it
will be considered fruit of the poisonous tree. In essence, the exclusionary rule
excludes any evidence collected out of unlawful searches. For instance, the Federal
Bureau of Investigation (FBI) may infringe on one his right to privacy by obtaining
information from the individual his computer, as this will amount to unreasonable
search and disrespect to the individual his privacy rights. As such, it is unreasonable
for the government agencies such as the Department of Justice to obtain information
from Google, Yahoo, Facebook, or any other online service provide, as this may be
presumed by a court of law as unlawful and unreasonable search that amounts to
infringement on one s privacy rights (O Brien and Michael, pg. 1889).
There has been an argument among legal experts that the provisions of the
exclusionary rule are merely to deter the misconduct of the law enforcement
personnel. In light of this, most courts do not adhere to the provisions of the
exclusionary rule as it is viewed as an extension of the Fourth Amendment. Ideally,
Police officers deem the law as an obstacle on their endeavors to
Exploring The Possibilities Of Discovering The Neural...
Exploring the possibilities of discovering the neural correlates of visual consciousness
In the ongoing strive to better understand the mechanism of consciousness, the
possibility of discovering the neural correlates of consciousness (NCCs) is arguably
the leading agenda in its scientific research. Although the question of whether
consciousness can be fully reduced to its neural correlates remains debatable, it is still
credible that whenever an appropriate brain process occurs, the associated subjective
experience follows (Chalmers, 2013). Thus, this essay will demonstrate that it is
plausible that the minimal brain processes necessary for a conscious percept can be
experimentally narrowed down to a smaller coalition of neurons. Understandably, the
complexity of the cortical system that is yet to be fully deciphered, along with the
technological difficulties in obtaining essential data has hindered the search for the
NCCs and have lead some to doubt the possibility of ever locating it (Fins Plum,
2004). It is also likely that there are numerous NCCs, each associated with different
modalities, which complicates the task further (Chalmers, 2013). For the purpose of
this essay, the possibilities of discovering the neural correlates of visual consciousness
are discussed in particular. This essay aims to define the foundational concepts of the
science of consciousness, outline the experimental projects in finding the neural
correlates of visual consciousness, and address
Rich And Rich Life
A Rich, Full Life Everyone s interpretation of a full, rich life differs. One person
might say that traveling the world or exploring new places is what makes a life
full and rich, while another might say that a full, rich life is having great
accomplishments or experiencing as many new things as they can. Each person
will view the answer to this question differently simply because each person is
different. Everyone has grown up with vastly diverse experiences. No two people
s lives are the same. No two people have the same likes and dislikes, and because of
this, everyone has a particular set of things they deem make their lives rich and
full. The definition, according to the Webster Dictionary, of a full, rich life,
according to these three words, apply to everyone. The definition, of full is, rich in
experience. Rich means, having high value or quality, and life is, the sequence of
physical and mental experiences that make up the existence of an individual
(Webster Dictionary). These definitions do not say that a full, rich life has to be
made up of any certain experiences or activities. They only say that it needs to have
experiences that have high value or quality to the person themself. For example, my
Mother describes a full, rich life as, ...all about relationships. I am happiest when I m
with people I love (Sayre, Lynette), while my Father describes it as, ...having taken
advantage of one s time while on this earth to obtain education, work, raise a family,
The First Atomic Structure And Its Impact On Science
In the year 400 B.C, the first atomic structure was made. It was thought that
everything could be broken down into very small particles. These small particles are
atoms, which it is what atomic structure is all about. Atomic structures are visual
demonstrations used to help understand how an atom looks like on the interior in the
inside and what it consists of. Over the years, atomic structures have greatly
improved and are still doing so. However, the first atomic structure had a great impact
on scienceand on other observations made about atoms. The philosopher Democritus
was the man behind one of the first atomic structures. Even though many studied the
atomic structure before, the greek philosopher is one of the most recognized
The Role Of Resocialization In An Ember In The Ashes
Erving Goffman created the idea of a total institution and the degradation ceremony.
This is something that is often seen in societies to resocialize people. In the book An
Ember in the Ashes, there will be many examples of how the total institution and the
process of resocialization work. Replacing one s sense of self with something
different, is an example of resocialization. This is done through the work of a total
institution. A total institution is, an institution that regulates all aspects of a person s
life, under a single authority... (Schaefer, 86) In the book An Ember in the Ashes, by
Sabaa Tahir explains what it s like to live in a total institution and what it does to
your sense of self. Erving Goffmancoined the term total institution. (Schaefer, 86)
There are also four rules of total institutions. The first rule is, All aspects of life are
conducted I the same place under the control of a single authority. An Ember in the
Ashes, takes place at an academy called Blackcliff, where students are trained to
become killers and the police of the nation. This all falls under the rule of the
Commandant. This is the single authority that Goffman explains must be essential to
a total institution. We don t hear the Commandant of Blackcliff Military Academy
approach; we feel her, the way you feel a storm coming. (Tahir, 27) This line shows
how the Commandant is the leader and force to be reckon with at the academy. The
second aspect of a total institution is, any

The team I m referring to is simply a cooperative unit. Being a part of a team
entitles you to be responsible for your actions, follow the orders of your
subordinates, and perform them with honor integrity and selfless service. How
can following orders in a time of war affect your team members? Imagine if you
are on deployment to Iraq and you or a fellow soldier were told by your supervisor
to fill up the gas cans and bring them down to the motor pool once they were filled
and fill the vehicles up. What if you or the soldier decided to perform the order in
your own time and you/ they forget. Now imagine your team is given an order to
move out due to hostile parties moving in. Your team goes to the vehicles start
them up and realize they are all low on gas. I hope that expresses the importance of
following orders while being a part of the armed services in a time of war. The
members of the armed forces are well know, and well respected for their discipline.
Part of that discipline comes from the ability to follow the orders of your
subordinates, even if they don t feel like it or don t agree with them. How
disciplined can a soldier be if they don t follow orders. The soldier in question can t
be very disciplined if they fail to follow instructions right? It goes against everything
a soldier stands for. This makes them a danger to their team members, especially in a
time of war. I do not think

blacks when he was a child. If Ruth, (James mother,) came home late from work he
would stay up late waiting for her to make sure she got home safe and wasn t

steal from other people. At that time he was feeling that he was getting back at the
world for injustices I had suffered (McBride 34). Several years later, James finally
realized how wrong he was. He felt horrible about the everything he had done, and
completely regretted all the decisions he made things he did as a teenager. James
even claimed that If you sat me down and asked me which injustices I was talking
about, I wouldn t be able to name them if my life depended on it (McBride 34). In
the beginning and the end of the book, James perspective on the world is very

The Impact Of Organizational Change On Change
Management
Introduction
Change is a phenomenon which is inevitable in every aspect of human life and it is
always constant despite the fact that people do resist change due to some reasons.
Organizational change is also a phenomenon which cannot be avoided by
organization, because internal and external factors exist which can cause an
organization to change. According to Mills an et al (2008) organization change can
be defined as an alteration of a core aspect of an organization s operations. Theses
core aspects involve culture of the company, the technology used or the structure of
the organization. This report will evaluate the impact of organizational changes.
Change Management
The change Management function will assess the nature and magnitude of the
change as a result of the change programme and who it will affect. In parallel to
this, the team should put in place measures to assess how ready people are for the
change. As an output of the change readiness assessments, and any areas of the
organisation who look to be particularly resistant to change or are facing a significant
volume of change can be given specific focus. The readiness to change will be
measured across the project lifecycle to monitor and track the sentiment of the
organisation.
Policies and Procedures against the Strategic Plan
Once reviewed, policies which had been developed in response to meeting the
requirements of the strategic plan must b reviewed to identify those that require
change. The time taken

Erin Brockovich is a film from 2000. It is a dramatized version of the life of Erin
Brockovich (played by Julia Roberts). Erin is an unemployed single mother of
three children desperately in search of a job. In the first scene of the movie she
gets into a car accident and gets sued by the doctor responsible for the

Erin s unethical behaviour and quick to anger personality loses her the case. After
the incident in the courtroom, Masry won t answer her phone calls. This leads to
Erin going to his office. Still looking for a job, she successfully forces him to

The food and beverage department is a much known part of the hospitality industry.
In restaurants, 70% of the profit would mostly come from the consumption of the

Manual for Yard Domination
Have you ever woken up on a beautiful Sunday morning only to find that your yard
has grown completely out of control? Well don t fret, this paper will guide you
through the steps required to have your lawn look like you ve been mowing your
whole life. Having the skills to conquer any yard will make you a star in the field
of landscaping worldwide. By mastering the strategies contained within these lines
you, too, can be the Master of the Yard. The key sections of a good mow job are,
preparing the equipment, the cutting of the grass, and inspection and clean up. Let s
take a look at how to first prepare your mower for the task at hand. ... Show more

When pulling the cord, it is good to provide a strong full stroke in order to have to
best chance of the mower starting. What pulling the cord does is it starts the
crankshaft of the motor into motion and from there the normal cycles of the engine
take over to keep the mower running. Most mowers are equip with a drive system
that reduces the effort required to maneuver the mower around the yard. This will
come in either an always on form, meaning if the mower is running the wheels are
spinning, otherwise, it will require you to also hold some kind of switch or pull bar
to activate the drive system.
Now it s time to get down to business. When mowing the lawn, it is good to have
some kind of pre thought out pattern in order to avoid running over the same areas
twice. This pattern may be either diagonally across the yard, horizontally,
vertically, or even is a spiral toward the center. A custom pattern may be necessary
depending on the size or unique shape of your lawn. No matter what you pattern of
choice, it is good to alternate the pattern you use every month or so. This will
avoid marks to your yard caused by the mower running over the exact same areas
every time you mow. Using a pattern that utilizes many straight aways and few turns
will make you your mowing more efficient by conserving time and gas. If your
mower has a guard on the side instead of an attached bag

How did college basketball form and how has it changed over the years?
Basketball is one of the most watched or frequently played sport in history, on top
of soccer, football, or baseball. In this essay, I will answer the question, and tell
about some important events in basketball history. Basketball started in 1891. It
has now grown into one of the most popular sports in history. Basketball was
invented in December 1891 by Canadian James W. Naismith. An instructor at the
YMCA Training School in Massachusetts, he sought a suitable indoor game to keep
his students fit and warm during the cold New England winters. With wire mesh
backboards. He formulated 13 rules, most of which still apply today. In 1893, the
first women s game was played at the Smith College, in Northampton,
Massachusetts, USA. And soon to spread all over the world. Rules of the game of
basketball. Basketball is a team sport. Two teams of five players each try to score
by shooting a ball through a hoop elevated 10 feet above the ground. The game is
played on a rectangular floor called the court, and there is a hoop at each end. The
court is divided into two main sections by the mid court line. If the offensive team
puts the ball into play behind the mid court line, it has ten seconds to get the ball
over the mid court line. If it doesn t, then the defense gets the ball. Once the
offensive team gets the ball over the mid court line, it can no longer have possession
of the ball in the area in back of the
Summary Of The American Embassy
Summary: This book was a very interesting read. The story was written by the former
award winning correspondent for the Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post,
Mr. Ronald Kessler in 1989. He gave us an insight on how KGB, one of the world s
most effective information gathering organization penetrated the United States
Embassy in Moscow (Moscow Station). A Marine by the name of Sgt Clayton
Lonetree, is known throughout the Marine Security Guard program, because of his
conviction of espionage against the United States. He was used by the KGB to
access the most vulnerable parts of the U.S. Embassy, and help provide a threat to
our national security. The Russian spies used the term which is called the honey pot

So Violetta knew she had him where she wanted him. She introduced Lonetree to
her Uncle Sasha , who was in charge of the KGB at the time. They basically bribed
Lonetree into helping them penetrate the national security of the United States
Embassy. He would walk around the Embassy and allowed the Russian spies to
place bugs in the most sensitive areas to gather classified information. Once his
relationship with Violetta went sour, and he realized he got taken advantage of, he
turned himself in to the CIA agents. Corporal Arnold Bracy and a few other
Marines was arrested after months of investigations for being the lookout for
Lonetree, as he escorted the KGB throughout the hard lines of the U.S. American
Embassy, Moscow. This story is one of many that had been used as examples to the
new Marine Security Guards today. It gives us insight on how intelligent and smart
our enemies are compared to what we may think. In Marine Security Guard School,
the instructors teach us to always remain vigilant to our surroundings and who we
talk to. The Clayton Lonetree Story is a prime example of this lesson. If you fail to

Introduction
Throughout this essay, the author will define and look into many different aspects of
research in relation to everyday nursing practice. A research topic of the use of
distraction for children undergoing medical procedures will also be shown through
different research processes.
Evidence based nursing practice
Schmidt and Brown (2012) defined evidence based practice as practice based on the
best available practice, patient preferences and clinical judgement. Evidence based
nursing is the collection, interpretation and use of research derived evidence to better
patients care in the clinical setting (Nursing Research: Principle, Process and
Issues, pp.447).It is very easy to see the significant changes that have transformed
the nursing practice in recent years. It is no wonder, therefore, that evidence based
nursing practice has been a central figure in professional practice (Rose and Glass,
2008). Hickman et al (2014) states that to have the best evidence based practice, a
nurse must provide patients with the best, up to date evidence in contrast to care
that is simply based on the traditional ways of nursing. However within evidence
based research, Maloney et al (2016) found that it is extremely important to focus on
knowledge based on the nurses own area of practice so that the best evidence based
practice is given to their patients. Following the Briggs report in 1972, there has been
more commitment within the health care profession to utilise evidence based
The Vulnerabilities And Cyber Kill Chain
A. ICS Vulnerabilities and Cyber Kill Chain
1. Reconnaissance Summarize plausible active gathering, passive gathering, and
active reconnaissance techniques that the adversary could have executed to gain
intelligence on the target in the scenario.
Reconnaissance is the act of collecting background research necessary to identify and
select targets. (1) Cyber reconnaissance is an important stage of a well organized
cyber attack, and is also one of the most time consuming activities. This phase can
exploit the information gathered about the target s weaknesses. The type of
information the hacker is looking for is how to actually get in: firewall ports that are
open, network hosts, services that are running. Critical information that should be
obtained during the reconnaissance phase include network information, host
information, security policies, and human information.
Active reconnaissance is a type of computer attack in which an intruder engages with
the targeted system to gather information about vulnerabilities. (2) This type of
information gathering involves doing something on the target network, which could
potentially be tracked back to you. The idea of this phase is to gather IP addresses,
subnet masks, network topologies, user names, operating systems, firewalls,
password requirements and change frequency.
Passive reconnaissance is focused more around public information and not engaging
with the targeted systems. Typical passive reconnaissance can include
Parodies of Victorian Lifestyle Essay
Parodies of Victorian Lifestyle in Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking
Glass and What Alice Found
It is no accident that the grotesque style in literature tends to be prevalent in eras
marked by radical change and stress. Such was the Victorian period, within which a
whirl of social, economic, and religious change took place . . . (Chang par. 2). This
distorted writing can be unquestionably seen in the works of Lewis Carroll, namely
his world famous pieces, Alice s Adventures in Wonderlandand Through the Looking
Glass and What Alice Found There (commonly known as Alice in Wonderland and
Through the Looking Glass ). In several instances throughout the Alice books,
Carroll mocks Victorian lifestyle. These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accepted norms now seem foreign to Alice, and in many ways she becomes an
outcast (Polisner par. 3). Carroll is mocking the Victorians because with every new
thing that Alice learns, they seem to cancel out her past lessons.
Since Victorians were so concerned with learning more about themselves and the
world around them, they came to be great inventors; they were the first to invent to
create solutions to problems and better themselves. Alice realizes the fruitlessness
of the White Knight s inventions upon discovering the mousetrap on his horse s
back. In response to this, she remarks, it isn t very likely there would be any mice
on a horse s back Not very likely, perhaps, said the Knight; but if they do come, I
don t choose to have them running all about (Through the Looking Glass ch. 8).
Instead of making like simpler, the solutions to the Knight s problems create more
problems. I see you re admiring my little box, the Knight said in a friendly tone. It
s my own invention to keep clothes and sandwiches in. You see I carry it upside
down, so that the rain ca n t get in. But the things can get out, Alice gently
remarked. Do you know the lid s open? (Through the Looking Glass ch. 8). The title
of the chapter, It s My Own Invention , suggests that Lewis Carroll is making a
mockery of Victorian inventions. This also holds true because of the repetitive use of

The Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Boogeyman, and Santa Claus, what do all of

innocence of a child and brings the magic to Christmas. Looking back on this picture

Integrated Marketing Communication
IMC, brand communications, and corporate cultures Client/advertising agency co

Lynne Eagle, Philip J. Kitchen. European Journal of Marketing. Bradford: 2000. Vol.
34, Iss. 5/6; pg. 667
Abstract (Summary)
The concept of integrated marketing communication (IMC) has received considerable
coverage in the literature, but even its most ardent supporters have noted problems in
translating the concept into reality. Reports on an extensive two phase study of the
New Zealand advertising and marketing industry, undertaken as part of an
international series of studies of IMC implementation and usage, which was
conducted over the 1997 1998 period. The findings of the first phase, conducted in

The first part of this paper represents a phase of a longitudinal multinational
investigation (i.e. Schultz and Kitchen, 1997; Kitchen and Schultz, 1998) of the
emergent concept and field of Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC). Both
parts of this study and paper were conducted with the full support of the two major
industry organizations; the Association of New Zealand Advertisers (ANZA)
representing major marketing organizations, and the Association of Advertising
Agencies (3As). Advertising agencies were selected as they are the dominant
marketing communication supplier in New Zealand. Public relations, direct
marketing and sales promotion organizations, while important providers of marketing
communications, take a subservient role to advertising agencies in strategy
development and many of these organizations are either owned by, or combine in
strategic alliances with, advertising agencies.
Literature review
There is no doubt that the marcom industry (in all of its multifaceted formats) is
transitioning through a period of marked, sometimes turbulent, change, forcing a
reexamination of roles and responsibilities of both marketers and of marketing
communications (marcoms) suppliers. Most marketing texts (i.e. Boyd et al., 1998)
stress variations of the conventional received wisdom that planning and co ordination
of all company activity be centered around the primary goal of satisfying customer
needs. This is perceived to be the most effective
Unequal Students Problem
The issue of unequal rights for students is a persistent problem that is affecting the
entire nation. Years of studying the difficult topic has still been unsuccessful in
finding a plausible solution. However, some causes of this problem have been
discovered. The toughest thing is to take action and acknowledge. The causes of
students being treating unfair in the classroom are racial stereotypes and inability to
properly train teachers to deal with special situations. This causes the problem of the
inequality within the classrooms across the nation that is steadily growing. Teachers,
faculty, and staff bring most of these issues to existence because of their common
beliefs of minorities. They believe that because someone is from a foreign country,
Summary Of On Thin Ice
In modern times, when individuals think about environmental problems, climate
change seems to always be at the forefront. Whether people learned through the Paris
Climate Accord or the internet about the devastating effects that a warming climate
could bring, most of society can at least acknowledge that climatechange is a hot
political talking point. Because of this, more and more research has been focused on
the effects that a changing climate could bring about. Research on the effects of
climate change range from the percentage of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and
its effects on global temperatures, to the rate at which glacial iceis melting and sea
level rise. This documentary, On Thin Ice, is concerned with the relationship between
a warming climate and the rate at which the Gangotri Glacierhas been melting over
several years. This film discusses the different effects that a rapidly melting Gangotri
has on water scarcity in Indian villages located downstream as well as the ways that
Americans could be affected by this environmental phenomenon. On Thin Ice begins
with the host, David Brancaccio, presenting the main focus of the film: the effects
that a warming climate could have on the endangered Gangotri Glacier. Brancaccio
then introduces Conrad Anker, an accomplished mountaineer and environmentalist.
Both Brancaccio and Anker decide to go on a long hiking trek to see firsthand, the
ways that the Gangotri Glacier has been affected by climate change. Dr. Vandana
Branding and Marketing Strategy for a Proposed Business...
As the product manager for Spirou Biodegradable Garbage Bags, my team and I will
start formulating the branding strategy by first performing a brand assessment. This
will involve a lot of research on current and prospective consumers, transaction trends
related to the trash bag market and service quality. We need to determine the business
environment including competition, suppliers and economic forecasts. The
assessment is needed to determine what the value our product has for our customers,
our competition, and the consumer perception of the competition and our company.
We can see the value of our bags in comparison to the current drawstring plastic bags
on the market. The technologically advanced bags we offer are our key selling point,
our value, our distinction. Second I will need to determine our brandpromise. The
brand promise should achievable and one that connects our strategy, our people, our
positioning, and our customers. We have determined our differentiating factor; the
bags disintegrate into dust together with the garbage inside them. Using this factor,
we can develop the promise we will deliver to our intended consumers: no more full
bags ripping or hauling bags to the trash barrels, an easy way to make the
environment cleaner, no more overflowing landfills. And the company MUST deliver
on the brand promise.
Third we develop the brand blueprint. The brand blueprint will aid us in
communicating our promise and creates our communication building

last year, Miami still finished a full 19 games out of first place. In the race for the
Wild Card, the deficit was even higher. By the end of the season, the Marlins were
26 games back.

The offseason was a rather quiet one for the Marlins.
Miami seems content moving forward with its young cast of players. The Marlins
only moves were a few free agency additions to the pitching staff. Their biggest
haul was the signing of Wei Yin Chen to a five year, $80 million contract, while the
Marlins also signed pitcher Edwin Jackson, who could bounce back from bullpen
duties in 2015 to earn a rotation spot. Jackson s ERA as a starting pitcher increased

Unfortunately for the Phillies, they finished below the Braves last year in the NL
East. Philadelphia wasn t only last in the division, the Phillies also had the worst
record in MLB at 63 99. However, the dreadful season earned Philadelphia the first
pick in this year s MLB Draft in June.

The Phillies rebuild began when they
finally decided to dismantle the old core that won the World Series in 2008. From
that title team, the Phillies traded the middle infielders who began their careers
with the organization. Philadelphia traded shortstop Jimmy Rollins after the 2014
season and second baseman Chase Utley in August of last season. Both players
were traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers and brought back a few pitching prospects.
The Phillies biggest return came from trading pitcher Cole Hamels to the Texas
Rangers in an eight player deal at the deadline last year. Philadelphia sent Hamels
and reliever Jake Diekman to the Rangers for pitchers Matt Harrison and Jake
Thompson, minor league pitching prospects Jared Eickhoff and Alec Asher, catcher
Jorge Alfaro and outfielder Nick Williams. However, Harrison has battled back
issues, so his castoff was merely a way for the Rangers to get the contract off their
books.

As this offseason began, it was new Phillies general manager Matt
Klentak s job to continue the rebuild. Klentak s first move was trading closer Ken
Giles and shortstop Jonathan Arauz to the Houston Astros for former No. 1 overall
pick Mark Appel and pitchers Thomas Eshelman, Brett Oberholtzer, Vincent
Velasquez and Harold Arauz. The Phillies deals have replenished their farm system
after years of being trade deadline buyers depleted it. While most of their prospects
continue to develop in the minor leagues, a few could contribute to the Phillies this
year.

Using the Foundation of Knowledge Model, I would explain to the vice president that
knowledge acquisition, which occurs through education and research, occurred in our
department during a morning huddle, where HIPPA standards were first introduced
to members of our department (McGonigle Mastrian, 2012). Through an introduction
of what HIPPA meant for healthcare providers, staff learned that HIPPA meant
confidentiality of protected health information ( Health insurance, 2013). This meant
staff were to only access patient information for patients they were taking care of and
they needed to be cautious with whom and where patient information was discussed.
All staff were required to complete a learning module and pass the module and...

are often interacting with the distribution of power. They create machines that can

Essay on Formalistic Analysis of Kate Chopin s Desiree s...
Formalistic Analysis of DГ©sirГ©e s Baby
The short story DГ©sirГ©e s Baby is told by a third person omniscient point of
view. The narrator, whose character or relationship to the story never receives any
discussion, is a seemingly all knowing observer of the situation. Although the narrator
does not take sides towards issues that arise during the course of the text, her general
view does shape the overall characterization of the white Southern society. The text
exhibits interesting clues such as word choice, tone and mood, reappearing symbols
and references that enrich the story and intensify its underlining message.
The choice of French names and words reminds the reader of the stories setting and
helps create an irony ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
L Abri means shelter in French. It is ironic how Madame ValmondГ© shudders at
the sight of it and finds it to be a sad looking place . In the beginning the plantation
virtually becomes a place of harmony and goodness since it is the home of
DГ©sirГ©e and her joy. As the plot advances, however, this previously mentioned
grimness begins to break through, until the young mother is forced to leave the
plantation. Armands prestigious estate therefore proves to be less than a shelter for
his sensitive and gentle wife.
The tone and mood created throughout the text and its drastic shift greatly affect the
readers feelings on the situation. The first couple of paragraphs depict the
newlyweds as a happy couple, filled with the joy of the birth of their son. As
DГ©sirГ©e s mother visits her daughter appears to be overfilled with happiness. The
descriptive details that first introduce the reader to DГ©sirГ©e make the young
woman and her surroundings appear overly idyllic. She enthusiastically tells about
her husband and it becomes evident that her life revolves around him and his well
being. The narrator further mentions that young Armand s roughness had been
softened by the presence of his loving wife and son. The overall mood created
throughout the first part of the story is one of joy and harmony. This clashes with the
atmosphere created by the description of the latter part of the story. Almost

The Global Cruise Ship Industry
It is the first day of your Caribbean cruise vacation and you are overwhelmed with
excitement. After months of anticipation you have arrived at the port of
embarkation only to be welcomed by a line that circles around the arrival lounge.
(Fig.1) Undenounced to a rookie in the game of cruise ship travel, this lengthy
embarkation line is only the first to be encountered in every port to be visited while
on cruise. This is only the first hiccup while on what is supposed to be the stress free
vacation you have been anticipating. As shipcapacities increase along with passenger
attendance, regular customer service operations are taking longer than usual to
process. The recent enhanced developments within these processes are ancient for

Given the expected growth within the cruise ship industry it is understandable that the
investment in new technology to remain competitive in the market is imminent.
Which is why the cohesion of the passenger s smart devices and the total cruise ship
experience will give the competitive edge in this progressing market.
The chart below proves that the demographics of passengers that bored a cruise ship
are the most susceptible to the implementation of smart technology thus helping to
alleviate the problems encountered while aboard. (Fig. 2)
Cruise Passenger Demographic StatisticsData
Average age of a cruise passenger50 +
Average household earnings$109,000
Percent of passengers who are college graduates86 %
Percent who are married and work full time62 %
Percent of people age 25+ with earnings of $40,000+ who have taken a cruise44.6 %
Percent of the total US population who have taken a cruise19.9 %
Average spent per person per week on their cruise$1,770
Average spent per person per week on a non cruise vacation$1,200
Fig. 2
Market Analysis
The table reveals that passengers are normally older, educated, financially stable,
which leads to the assumption that they are well versed in technology and would be
willing to use the RFID s if they were to be implemented. The passengers are also
willing to spend more money than they would on a conventional vacation, and that in
itself sets up the expectation for a seamless
UI Essay
How To Apply For UI
All states and territories of the United States have an unemployment office that
handles unemployment applications and manages the benefits. Unemployment
insurance (UI) provides displaced workers with temporary financial benefits while
they seek a new job.
UI benefits are administered by each state under the Federal State Unemployment
Insurance Program. Workers must meet specific requirements established by each
state before they can get unemployment benefits. If you need to apply for
unemployment benefits, follow these steps.
1.Contact your state Employment Development Agency.

4.Appeal the ruling, if necessary.
File an appeal within 10 to 30 days of the ruling, depending on each state. (Check
your state s requirements to be absolutely certain.) You ll be able to present proof
that your claim should have been granted. Your former employers will be given a
chance to be there and present evidence as well.
You may bring evidence or witnesses to the appeal hearing to support your claim. If

Essay On Ablooproteinemia
Abetalipoproteinemia (ABL) is a rare inherited disorder affecting fat metabolism.
Abnormal fat metabolism prevents the body from completely absorbing dietary fats,
cholesterol, and fat soluble vitamins. Without treatment, people affected by this
disorder can experience progressive neurological deterioration, muscle weakness,
difficulty walking, and blood abnormalities in which the red blood cells deform
resulting in low levels of circulating red blood cells (anemia). Dietary fats and
vitamins are essential for proper growth and development of various body systems.
Consequently, degeneration of the retina of the eyes may also occur in affected
people. This can potentially result in loss of vision, a condition known as retinitis
pigmentosa.
This disorder is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait and is caused by mutations in
the microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTTP) gene. Beta lipoprotein that work
to carry fats and cholesterol in the blood is missing due to the MTTP gene mutations.
The MTTP gene provides instructions for making microsomal triglyceride transfer
protein, which is essential for creating beta lipoproteins. The mutations in this gene
lead to abnormally short microsomal triglyceride transfer protein, causing the
nutritional and neurological problems. ABL is also called Bassen Kornzweig
syndrome because Dr. Bassen and Dr.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This signifies that individuals with ABL inherited two abnormal alleles from the
same trait from each parent. Those that receive one normal allele and one allele for
the disease are considered carriers for ABL. They usually do not show symptoms
of ABL, however their offspring can inherit the disorder. Two carrier parents have
25% chance of having affected child indicating they both passed their defective
gene to their child. Two carrier parents have 50% chance of having a carrier child and
25% of chance of having a normal
Slave Trade the Industrial Revolution
The Atlantic slave trade was a key driving force to the industrial revolution in Britain
Britain experienced a huge industrial development from 1750 onwards. This
development led to Britain being one of the wealthiest countries in the world. The
changes and development happened at the same period of time that the slave trade
was at its peak and Britain was one of the countries most heavily involved. Britain
also played the biggest role in the trade out of any other European country. Is this
merely coincidence or is there a connection between these two? Was the slave trade
causing Britain s growth in economy and industrial development? Seeing as the
ports, such as the ports in Bristol and Liverpool became wealthy, more jobs were
created, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Liverpool soon became the largest slave trading port in the Atlantic slave trade
system. From this, Liverpool gained a lot of money from taxes on imports and
exports which was hugely beneficial to the economy. The government gained about
5% of their income from the taxes paid on these ports which meant that the slave
trade was accumulating significant amounts if money. Many jobs were also created
by the trade as dockworkers, sailmakers, sailors and ship reporters were needed.
Because of the job increase, the economy grew because of taxes and there were
fewer unemployed people.
From all the money that was being accumulated from the slave trade, Britain was able
to finance a lot of new technology, such as the steam engine. This proves that the
slave trade was highly involved in the industrial revolution. Huge profits were being
made by investors, merchants and plantation owners and they were investing these
profits into banking, insurance and the development of industries which allowed
Britain to develop and advance in technology.
New machines and techniques also came with the revolution and it also had a
revolutionary effect on farming and manufacturing goods. New factories were
developed and the manufacture of cotton became very important and a lot of the
cotton being supplied by Britain was produced by slave labour.

Music is Mine Everyone has a key. That key is what makes the gears shift in one s
thoughts. That key is one s morals. That key to someone is what makes them do
what they do. Some keys maybe family. Some maybe friends. Some could even be
privacy. Family is the inspiration and the main goal of one s thoughts, if that s one
s key. Friends are ones morals. Their friends are the reason how they got these
morals and those morals are very important to one. Privacy is the reason why one
does good in school or work. How one has the time and motivation to get things done
because of the privacy they have.

I will always remember that moment, in the bathroom, contemplating whether living
was worth it. Than I decided that I do have something to live for, the future. I have
so much to look forward to now that I have realized it!
Music is the reason why I do what I do. It is the reason why I am learning how to
play the ukulele. Since music has helped me so much, I figure it can help others
too! Maybe when I m older I can start a band or just professionally play music to
help other people who have gone through the same things I have. Music is my
friend that has always been there for me! Music was there to make me happy when
I m depressed. It was there to make me maintain my happiness. It has helped me
realize things in life that people don t like to talk about like how suicide is an actual
problem and how there are people who can feel the same emotions as me. Music
has made my morals and changed them throughout the different genres and bands
and composers etc. I listen to. I have learned from some that life is short so I need
to be grateful and live like there is no tomorrow. Which I struggle with sometimes
but it s a reminder. I have aquired the knowledge that I need to be myself and just do
what I want to do no matter the criticism that others give (ex. drawing, singing,
instruments, video games). People are always going to hate on me just because they
want to, for no good reason they
Morgan Freeman Mentor
Tennessee born actor Morgan Freeman often plays the role of a mentor or father
figure. This can be seen in numerous films starring Freeman, including, An
Unfinished Life, Last Knights, Lean on Me, The Magic of Belle Isle, and Robin
Hood: Prince of Thieves. In all of these films, he is a mentor to at least one person
who has lost a father. However, although he has been pigeonholed as the mentor,
Freeman is capable of portraying a wide variety of characters, and demonstrates this
in the aforementioned films as well as others. In Last Knights, London has Fallen,
Dreamcatcher, and Lean on Me, Freeman s characters Lord Bartok, Allan Trumball,
Colonel Curtis, and Joe Clark are strong leaders who refuse to submit to opposition.
Although these characters... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Freeman plays the role accordingly, saying his lines in a stereotypical, strong black
dialect akin to Uncle Remus from Song of the South, with the noticeable quirk of
pronouncing the letter r with two syllables. Freeman s delivery in this manner helps
emphasize Hoke s lack of education in English suggested by the grammatical
structure of his lines. He maintains a calm countenance throughout most of the film,
showing that, like Red, he is acclimated to his circumstances, but his tone is jollier,
reflecting Hoke s optimism in contrast to Red s more solemn
The Russian World Russian Federation Essay
The present day Russian Federation involves a democratic system, given the
presence of elections, an independent judiciary, and the supremacy of law. Yet, in
democracy, the crux of it involves an inevitable paradox: law limits state power,
but the state must have the power to enforce the law. However, finding the balance
of the ability to enforce laws, and therefore maintaining order, while not infringing
on civil liberties, requires a mutual understanding, a social contract, between the
rulers and the ruled. This requirement has not found its place in the Russian
political arena, especially since creating a rule of law based sate out of dictatorship
is not easy (Bressler 2009). In addition, the Russian psyche views authority as a
source of force and violence (Yakovlev 1996), an etymological result of a continuity
beginning from imperial Russia. Although the Russian Federation, the Union Soviet
Socialist Republics, the Russian Empire, and the Tsardom of Russia differ
significantly, a strong state remains prevalent in the core of Russian history and
politics. In short, the nature of political rule in Russia involves a never ending tug of
war between the seemingly undying authoritative soulless entity known as the state
and the equally undying Russian people s hunger for liberty.
Seemingly Undying Authoritative and Soulless State
Under Monarchical Russia Describing the tug of war necessitates full understanding
of the parties involved, the first being the state, in all of
Elephants In The Vietnam War
Elephants have been used in war for 2,300 years. The first known use of them was
in Ancient Greece and they have more recently been used in the Vietnam War.
Alexander the Great was well known for the most instrumental spread of elephants as
a weapon of war (Knodell, 2014). Elephants were the tanks of the ancient battlefield
(Knodell, 2014). The mere sight, or smell, of these beasts could cause the enemy to
retreat. If the enemy did not retreat, however, the elephantswould often disrupt their
formation. Even cavalry horses were afraid of the smell, sight, and sounds of the
oncoming elephants. The horses would refuse to proceed.
A driver would sit atop the neck of a domesticated elephant and command it. A

Essay About Friends.pdf

  • 1. Essay About Friends Crafting an essay on the theme of friendship presents a unique challenge, as it requires a delicate balance between personal experiences, emotions, and a broader exploration of the concept. The complexity arises from the intricacies involved in capturing the essence of friendships, which can be highly subjective and nuanced. One of the difficulties lies in avoiding clichГ©s and superficial expressions commonly associated with the topic. While it's tempting to resort to generic statements about the importance of friends and the value they add to our lives, a compelling essay demands a deeper exploration. Striking the right chord between depth and relatability requires introspection and the ability to articulate personal experiences authentically. Another challenge is steering clear of overly sentimental or idealized portrayals. While it's natural to want to celebrate the positive aspects of friendship, an effective essay should also acknowledge the complexities and challenges that come with interpersonal relationships. Balancing the portrayal of both joyous moments and inevitable conflicts requires a nuanced approach. Moreover, finding a unique angle or perspective that sets the essay apart from others on the same topic can be daunting. With countless essays on friendship available, distinguishing one's work requires originality and creativity. Whether drawing from personal anecdotes or incorporating diverse cultural perspectives, the essay should strive to offer fresh insights that resonate with the reader. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of friendship demands a delicate blend of introspection, authenticity, and creativity. Overcoming the challenges of clichГ©s, sentimentality, and achieving uniqueness in perspective can be a formidable task. However, navigating these challenges can result in a profound and engaging exploration of the complexities and joys inherent in the bonds we share with our friends. • 2. Jack Doesn t Want For Start An Outbreak Another Place, Another Time Jack didn t want to start an outbreak. What eleven year old did? He didn t even want to find The Kingdom. All he wanted was to get away from his babysitter, Susanne. Now his whole town was infected with the Sickness, and it was all his fault. He sat in his room, his back against the locked door, staring at his hands. The hands were the first sign of Sickness. A slimy, black ooze would drip off your fingers, seemingly coming from nowhere. He d seen it on his mom, and on Susanne, and on the whole town. Now he saw it on himself. It spread up your arms and throughout your body, turning your skin the color of midnight. You were still yourself then, though. You were still you, until the Sicknessreached your brain. Jack watched the black droplets splashing onto the ground and melting into the floor boards. He knew he had to do something about the Sickness that had rapidly taken his whole town. He swung his backpack over his back and put a cap on over his fair haired head. Then he climbed out the window (thankfully, his room was on the first floor) and started running towards the only place he could think to go: The woods. He recalled three weeks ago, when he had done the same. Jack had come to the woods many times as a child. He loved the fresh air and cool breeze that came with entering it. It reminded him of his father, who had gotten very sick and died a year and three weeks before. On that day he had come here to be alone, and that s when
  • 3. Nonverbal Communication In Nursing Essay The importance of communication is the essential foundation of nursing practise; it is primarily dependant upon verbal and non verbal communication. Encompassing both speech and behavioural aspects, efficient delivery and receiving of the nurse patient messages initiates advantageous relationships, or contrarily, generates significant repercussions if applied ineffectively, thus affecting the quality of the nurse patient relationship. This essay will discuss how effective verbal and non verbal communicationin nursing practice will facilitate a mutually satisfying therapeutic nurse patient relationship. It will firstly discuss verbal communication, followed on by the complementary non verbal communication and lastly listening. However, for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These styles of non verbal communication can be grouped together to form body language. Chambers (2003) also adds touch, physical appearance and passive listening . Through careful consideration of those non verbal signs, nurses are able to gain a more profound insight into the emotional needs and experiences of patients, thus encouraging additional patient investigation (Stein Parbury, 1999). Clearly these signs of non verbal communication together with appropriate use will endeavor to enhance the nurse patient relationship. According to Caris Verhallen, Kerkstra Bensing (2002, p. 809) to express warmth and empathy the nurse need to make eye contact with the patient . However, eye contact is a special exception in non verbal communication (Vernallen, Kerkstra Bensing, 2002). It can reveal some hidden and profound feelings that cannot be expressed in another manner that will serve as a role in emphatic connection (Benjamin, 2005). For instance, in western culture, looking people in the eye is assumed to indicate honesty and straight forwardness, in Latin and Asian cultures it represents aggression and/or disrespect (Le Roux, 2002). Certainly in these circumstances, the importance of limiting eye contact and touch in appropriate cultures and regarding them as culturally dissimilar ensures patient misinterpretation is avoided. Additionally the use of touch can in some cultures be a sensitive issue for example in the Muslim culture,
  • 4. Persuasive Speech On Animal Testing Intro. Imagine you were in the 1970s and someone told you that soon computers take over everything from shopping to dating and that you would even own a handheld device much more powerful than a computer. It would have seemed completely ridiculous to say that but now all of that has happened. Science fiction has become our reality and we don t even realize it. Today we re at a similar point in time but with genetic modification. So why don t we talk about it where it came from what we re doing right now and about a recent breakthrough that will change how we live and what we perceive as normalforever I. Man has been editing life for millions of years. Through a process called selective breeding, we strengthened valuable qualities in plants and animals. We never really understood how selective breeding and other methods really worked until the discovery of deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA . You can imagine DNA a comprehensive instruction manual that instructs you body to grow and reproduce. In the 1960s, sciences shot plants with a variety of radiations. The radiations caused random mutations or defects in the plants, such as roots growing in the wrong place. In the 90s the flavor saver tomato made its way to shelves around the country. This genetically modified tomato had an extra long shelf life due to an extra gene inserted that slowed down the buildup of enzymes that caused rotting. The problem with these methods is that they were very time to consume and cost a lot.
  • 5. How Did The Triangular Trade Affect The Spread Of African... Many wonder about the spread of the African race. The answer to that mystery leads back to the Transatlantic Slave Trade/Middle Passage. The Transatlantic Slave Trade / Middle Passage is the reason for the wide spread of the African society altogether. The first stage included manufactured goods like clothing, food, and artilleries and transporting them from Europeto Africa. The second stage was known as the Middle Passage where the enslaved Africans would be shipped to the Americas. The third and final stage of the trade was the shipment of the produce from the enslaved Africans to Europe. Triple Bottom Line In Tesco Triple Bottom Line (TBL) is a concept, invented in 1994, that it has come up with the three factors that company should follow in order to become sustainable including people, planet and profit ( Triple bottom line , 2009). In the present time, many companies are more aware of becoming a sustainable company. This is because of the fact that many people today believe that in order for big corporations to become successful, they must try to become sustainable. According to the organization that studied about people s living condition in Europe called EMCC (2013), Tesco is responsible for 5.4 million tonnes of carbon emissions in the UK, which its main cause is due to a high electricity consumption. Therefore, they have come up with a strategy of reducing their consumption. • 8. Describe The Victorian Era The Victorian Age (1830 1901) Introduction The Victorian era is a term used to refer to the period during which Britain was under the control of Queen Victoria. It was a period that was different from all the other periods in the history of Britain. The Victorian era was before the Georgian era. This period of British history has lasted about 63 years, starting from when Queen Victoria began to rule in 1837 and ended when she died in 1901. This essay aims to completely describe the Victorian era, the reason why I choose this era specifically is because one of the greatest novels that I have read were written in that era, therefore I would like to analyze this era in order to know what happened in that era and what influenced the authors to write such great novels. At that time society did not consider that women need a proper education and consequently it was only for men. As a result, it was rare to find women in skilled jobs that required higher or intermediate education. Women then were generally expected to be housekeepers or housewives .The role of women did not go beyond a wife or mother who took care of her children and maintained her house of her husband in proper order. As such, the courts of law must always factor in the provisions of criminal procedure and natural justice when cross examining offenders. In light of this, the exclusionary rule allows a defendant to argue his case if his privacy rights were violated before arraigned in court. In essence, the provisions of the exclusionary rule prevent the government authorities and machinery such as FBI and CIA from gathering evidence from an individual in a manner that disrespects the United States constitution. In addition, the freedom to information by government authorities must not exceedingly surpass the rights and privileges that citizens enjoy (Re and Richard, pg. 1887). What is more, the exclusionary rule provides that the extra evidence obtained because of unreasonable search or seizure will not be used in a court of law, as it will be considered fruit of the poisonous tree. In essence, the exclusionary rule excludes any evidence collected out of unlawful searches. For instance, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) may infringe on one his right to privacy by obtaining information from the individual his computer, as this will amount to unreasonable search and disrespect to the individual his privacy rights. As such, it is unreasonable for the government agencies such as the Department of Justice to obtain information from Google, Yahoo, Facebook, or any other online service provide, as this may be presumed by a court of law as unlawful and unreasonable search that amounts to infringement on one s privacy rights (O Brien and Michael, pg. 1889). There has been an argument among legal experts that the provisions of the exclusionary rule are merely to deter the misconduct of the law enforcement personnel. In light of this, most courts do not adhere to the provisions of the exclusionary rule as it is viewed as an extension of the Fourth Amendment. Ideally, Police officers deem the law as an obstacle on their endeavors to
  • 10. Exploring The Possibilities Of Discovering The Neural... Exploring the possibilities of discovering the neural correlates of visual consciousness In the ongoing strive to better understand the mechanism of consciousness, the possibility of discovering the neural correlates of consciousness (NCCs) is arguably the leading agenda in its scientific research. Although the question of whether consciousness can be fully reduced to its neural correlates remains debatable, it is still credible that whenever an appropriate brain process occurs, the associated subjective experience follows (Chalmers, 2013). Thus, this essay will demonstrate that it is plausible that the minimal brain processes necessary for a conscious percept can be experimentally narrowed down to a smaller coalition of neurons. Understandably, the complexity of the cortical system that is yet to be fully deciphered, along with the technological difficulties in obtaining essential data has hindered the search for the NCCs and have lead some to doubt the possibility of ever locating it (Fins Plum, 2004). It is also likely that there are numerous NCCs, each associated with different modalities, which complicates the task further (Chalmers, 2013). For the purpose of this essay, the possibilities of discovering the neural correlates of visual consciousness are discussed in particular. This essay aims to define the foundational concepts of the science of consciousness, outline the experimental projects in finding the neural correlates of visual consciousness, and address
  • 11. Rich And Rich Life A Rich, Full Life Everyone s interpretation of a full, rich life differs. One person might say that traveling the world or exploring new places is what makes a life full and rich, while another might say that a full, rich life is having great accomplishments or experiencing as many new things as they can. Each person will view the answer to this question differently simply because each person is different. Everyone has grown up with vastly diverse experiences. No two people s lives are the same. No two people have the same likes and dislikes, and because of this, everyone has a particular set of things they deem make their lives rich and full. The definition, according to the Webster Dictionary, of a full, rich life, according to these three words, apply to everyone. The definition, of full is, rich in experience. Rich means, having high value or quality, and life is, the sequence of physical and mental experiences that make up the existence of an individual (Webster Dictionary). These definitions do not say that a full, rich life has to be made up of any certain experiences or activities. They only say that it needs to have experiences that have high value or quality to the person themself. For example, my Mother describes a full, rich life as, ...all about relationships. I am happiest when I m with people I love (Sayre, Lynette), while my Father describes it as, ...having taken advantage of one s time while on this earth to obtain education, work, raise a family,

This is something that is often seen in societies to resocialize people. In the book An Ember in the Ashes, there will be many examples of how the total institution and the process of resocialization work. Replacing one s sense of self with something different, is an example of resocialization. This is done through the work of a total institution. How can following orders in a time of war affect your team members? Imagine if you are on deployment to Iraq and you or a fellow soldier were told by your supervisor to fill up the gas cans and bring them down to the motor pool once they were filled and fill the vehicles up. What if you or the soldier decided to perform the order in your own time and you/ they forget. Now imagine your team is given an order to move out due to hostile parties moving in. Your team goes to the vehicles start them up and realize they are all low on gas. I hope that expresses the importance of following orders while being a part of the armed services in a time of war. The members of the armed forces are well know, and well respected for their discipline. Part of that discipline comes from the ability to follow the orders of your subordinates, even if they don t feel like it or don t agree with them. How disciplined can a soldier be if they don t follow orders. The soldier in question can t be very disciplined if they fail to follow instructions right? It goes against everything a soldier stands for. This makes them a danger to their team members, especially in a time of war. I do not think

  • 18. The Impact Of Organizational Change On Change Management Introduction Change is a phenomenon which is inevitable in every aspect of human life and it is always constant despite the fact that people do resist change due to some reasons. Organizational change is also a phenomenon which cannot be avoided by organization, because internal and external factors exist which can cause an organization to change. According to Mills an et al (2008) organization change can be defined as an alteration of a core aspect of an organization s operations. Theses core aspects involve culture of the company, the technology used or the structure of the organization. This report will evaluate the impact of organizational changes. Change Management The change Management function will assess the nature and magnitude of the change as a result of the change programme and who it will affect. In parallel to this, the team should put in place measures to assess how ready people are for the change. As an output of the change readiness assessments, and any areas of the organisation who look to be particularly resistant to change or are facing a significant volume of change can be given specific focus. The readiness to change will be measured across the project lifecycle to monitor and track the sentiment of the organisation. Policies and Procedures against the Strategic Plan Once reviewed, policies which had been developed in response to meeting the requirements of the strategic plan must b reviewed to identify those that require change. What pulling the cord does is it starts the crankshaft of the motor into motion and from there the normal cycles of the engine take over to keep the mower running. Most mowers are equip with a drive system that reduces the effort required to maneuver the mower around the yard. This will come in either an always on form, meaning if the mower is running the wheels are spinning, otherwise, it will require you to also hold some kind of switch or pull bar to activate the drive system. Now it s time to get down to business. When mowing the lawn, it is good to have some kind of pre thought out pattern in order to avoid running over the same areas twice. This pattern may be either diagonally across the yard, horizontally, vertically, or even is a spiral toward the center. A custom pattern may be necessary depending on the size or unique shape of your lawn. No matter what you pattern of choice, it is good to alternate the pattern you use every month or so. This will avoid marks to your yard caused by the mower running over the exact same areas every time you mow. Using a pattern that utilizes many straight aways and few turns will make you your mowing more efficient by conserving time and gas. If your mower has a guard on the side instead of an attached bag

Basketball is one of the most watched or frequently played sport in history, on top of soccer, football, or baseball. In this essay, I will answer the question, and tell about some important events in basketball history. Basketball started in 1891. It has now grown into one of the most popular sports in history. Basketball was invented in December 1891 by Canadian James W. Naismith. An instructor at the YMCA Training School in Massachusetts, he sought a suitable indoor game to keep his students fit and warm during the cold New England winters. With wire mesh backboards. He formulated 13 rules, most of which still apply today. In 1893, the first women s game was played at the Smith College, in Northampton, Massachusetts, USA. And soon to spread all over the world. The game is played on a rectangular floor called the court, and there is a hoop at each end. The court is divided into two main sections by the mid court line. If the offensive team puts the ball into play behind the mid court line, it has ten seconds to get the ball over the mid court line. If it doesn t, then the defense gets the ball. The story was written by the former award winning correspondent for the Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post, Mr. Ronald Kessler in 1989. He gave us an insight on how KGB, one of the world s most effective information gathering organization penetrated the United States Embassy in Moscow (Moscow Station). A Marine by the name of Sgt Clayton Lonetree, is known throughout the Marine Security Guard program, because of his conviction of espionage against the United States. He was used by the KGB to access the most vulnerable parts of the U.S. Embassy, and help provide a threat to our national security. Introduction Throughout this essay, the author will define and look into many different aspects of research in relation to everyday nursing practice. A research topic of the use of distraction for children undergoing medical procedures will also be shown through different research processes. Evidence based nursing practice Schmidt and Brown (2012) defined evidence based practice as practice based on the best available practice, patient preferences and clinical judgement. Evidence based nursing is the collection, interpretation and use of research derived evidence to better patients care in the clinical setting (Nursing Research: Principle, Process and Issues, pp.447).It is very easy to see the significant changes that have transformed the nursing practice in recent years. It is no wonder, therefore, that evidence based nursing practice has been a central figure in professional practice (Rose and Glass, 2008). Hickman et al (2014) states that to have the best evidence based practice, a nurse must provide patients with the best, up to date evidence in contrast to care that is simply based on the traditional ways of nursing. However within evidence based research, Maloney et al (2016) found that it is extremely important to focus on knowledge based on the nurses own area of practice so that the best evidence based practice is given to their patients. Following the Briggs report in 1972, there has been more commitment within the health care profession to utilise evidence based

Reconnaissance Summarize plausible active gathering, passive gathering, and active reconnaissance techniques that the adversary could have executed to gain intelligence on the target in the scenario. Reconnaissance is the act of collecting background research necessary to identify and select targets. (1) Cyber reconnaissance is an important stage of a well organized cyber attack, and is also one of the most time consuming activities. This phase can exploit the information gathered about the target s weaknesses. The type of information the hacker is looking for is how to actually get in: firewall ports that are open, network hosts, services that are running. Critical information that should be obtained during the reconnaissance phase include network information, host information, security policies, and human information. Active reconnaissance is a type of computer attack in which an intruder engages with the targeted system to gather information about vulnerabilities. (2) This type of information gathering involves doing something on the target network, which could potentially be tracked back to you. The idea of this phase is to gather IP addresses, subnet masks, network topologies, user names, operating systems, firewalls, password requirements and change frequency. Passive reconnaissance is focused more around public information and not engaging with the targeted systems. Typical passive reconnaissance can include

Although the Marlins finished in third place in the NL East last year, Miami still finished a full 19 games out of first place. In the race for the Wild Card, the deficit was even higher. By the end of the season, the Marlins were 26 games back.

The offseason was a rather quiet one for the Marlins. Miami seems content moving forward with its young cast of players. The Marlins only moves were a few free agency additions to the pitching staff. Their biggest haul was the signing of Wei Yin Chen to a five year, $80 million contract, while the Marlins also signed pitcher Edwin Jackson, who could bounce back from bullpen duties in 2015 to earn a rotation spot. Philadelphia wasn t only last in the division, the Phillies also had the worst record in MLB at 63 99. However, the dreadful season earned Philadelphia the first pick in this year s MLB Draft in June.

The Phillies rebuild began when they finally decided to dismantle the old core that won the World Series in 2008. From that title team, the Phillies traded the middle infielders who began their careers with the organization. Philadelphia traded shortstop Jimmy Rollins after the 2014 season and second baseman Chase Utley in August of last season. Both players were traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers and brought back a few pitching prospects. The Phillies biggest return came from trading pitcher Cole Hamels to the Texas Rangers in an eight player deal at the deadline last year. Philadelphia sent Hamels and reliever Jake Diekman to the Rangers for pitchers Matt Harrison and Jake Thompson, minor league pitching prospects Jared Eickhoff and Alec Asher, catcher Jorge Alfaro and outfielder Nick Williams. However, Harrison has battled back issues, so his castoff was merely a way for the Rangers to get the contract off their books.

As this offseason began, it was new Phillies general manager Matt Klentak s job to continue the rebuild. Klentak s first move was trading closer Ken Giles and shortstop Jonathan Arauz to the Houston Astros for former No. 1 overall pick Mark Appel and pitchers Thomas Eshelman, Brett Oberholtzer, Vincent Velasquez and Harold Arauz. The Phillies deals have replenished their farm system after years of being trade deadline buyers depleted it. The narrator, whose character or relationship to the story never receives any discussion, is a seemingly all knowing observer of the situation. Although the narrator does not take sides towards issues that arise during the course of the text, her general view does shape the overall characterization of the white Southern society. The text exhibits interesting clues such as word choice, tone and mood, reappearing symbols and references that enrich the story and intensify its underlining message. It is ironic how Madame ValmondГ© shudders at the sight of it and finds it to be a sad looking place . In the beginning the plantation virtually becomes a place of harmony and goodness since it is the home of DГ©sirГ©e and her joy. As the plot advances, however, this previously mentioned grimness begins to break through, until the young mother is forced to leave the plantation. Armands prestigious estate therefore proves to be less than a shelter for his sensitive and gentle wife. The tone and mood created throughout the text and its drastic shift greatly affect the readers feelings on the situation. The first couple of paragraphs depict the newlyweds as a happy couple, filled with the joy of the birth of their son. As DГ©sirГ©e s mother visits her daughter appears to be overfilled with happiness. The descriptive details that first introduce the reader to DГ©sirГ©e make the young woman and her surroundings appear overly idyllic. She enthusiastically tells about her husband and it becomes evident that her life revolves around him and his well being. The narrator further mentions that young Armand s roughness had been softened by the presence of his loving wife and son. The overall mood created throughout the first part of the story is one of joy and harmony. This clashes with the atmosphere created by the description of the latter part of the story. • 45. Essay On Ablooproteinemia Abetalipoproteinemia (ABL) is a rare inherited disorder affecting fat metabolism. Abnormal fat metabolism prevents the body from completely absorbing dietary fats, cholesterol, and fat soluble vitamins. Without treatment, people affected by this disorder can experience progressive neurological deterioration, muscle weakness, difficulty walking, and blood abnormalities in which the red blood cells deform resulting in low levels of circulating red blood cells (anemia). Dietary fats and vitamins are essential for proper growth and development of various body systems. Consequently, degeneration of the retina of the eyes may also occur in affected people. This can potentially result in loss of vision, a condition known as retinitis pigmentosa. This disorder is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait and is caused by mutations in the microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTTP) gene. Beta lipoprotein that work to carry fats and cholesterol in the blood is missing due to the MTTP gene mutations. The MTTP gene provides instructions for making microsomal triglyceride transfer protein, which is essential for creating beta lipoproteins. The changes and development happened at the same period of time that the slave trade was at its peak and Britain was one of the countries most heavily involved. Britain also played the biggest role in the trade out of any other European country. Is this merely coincidence or is there a connection between these two? Was the slave trade causing Britain s growth in economy and industrial development? Seeing as the ports, such as the ports in Bristol and Liverpool became wealthy, more jobs were created, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Liverpool soon became the largest slave trading port in the Atlantic slave trade system. From this, Liverpool gained a lot of money from taxes on imports and exports which was hugely beneficial to the economy. The government gained about 5% of their income from the taxes paid on these ports which meant that the slave trade was accumulating significant amounts if money. Many jobs were also created by the trade as dockworkers, sailmakers, sailors and ship reporters were needed. Because of the job increase, the economy grew because of taxes and there were fewer unemployed people. From all the money that was being accumulated from the slave trade, Britain was able to finance a lot of new technology, such as the steam engine. This proves that the slave trade was highly involved in the industrial revolution. Huge profits were being made by investors, merchants and plantation owners and they were investing these profits into banking, insurance and the development of industries which allowed Britain to develop and advance in technology. New machines and techniques also came with the revolution and it also had a revolutionary effect on farming and manufacturing goods. New factories were developed and the manufacture of cotton became very important and a lot of the cotton being supplied by Britain was produced by slave labour. The invention of

This can be seen in numerous films starring Freeman, including, An Unfinished Life, Last Knights, Lean on Me, The Magic of Belle Isle, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. In all of these films, he is a mentor to at least one person who has lost a father. However, although he has been pigeonholed as the mentor, Freeman is capable of portraying a wide variety of characters, and demonstrates this in the aforementioned films as well as others. • 49. The Russian World Russian Federation Essay The present day Russian Federation involves a democratic system, given the presence of elections, an independent judiciary, and the supremacy of law. Yet, in democracy, the crux of it involves an inevitable paradox: law limits state power, but the state must have the power to enforce the law. However, finding the balance of the ability to enforce laws, and therefore maintaining order, while not infringing on civil liberties, requires a mutual understanding, a social contract, between the rulers and the ruled. This requirement has not found its place in the Russian political arena, especially since creating a rule of law based sate out of dictatorship is not easy (Bressler 2009). In addition, the Russian psyche views authority as a source of force and violence (Yakovlev 1996), an etymological result of a continuity beginning from imperial Russia. Although the Russian Federation, the Union Soviet Socialist Republics, the Russian Empire, and the Tsardom of Russia differ significantly, a strong state remains prevalent in the core of Russian history and politics. In short, the nature of political rule in Russia involves a never ending tug of war between the seemingly undying authoritative soulless entity known as the state and the equally undying Russian people s hunger for liberty. Seemingly Undying Authoritative and Soulless State Under Monarchical Russia Describing the tug of war necessitates full understanding of the parties involved, the first being the state, in all of
