Is There A God Essay. Whether Jesus Is a God or Not Essay Example Topics and Well Written ...
1. Is There A God Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of the existence of God presents a unique set of challenges that
reflect the profound nature of the subject matter. The difficulty arises not only from the
intellectual depth required to explore various philosophical and theological perspectives but also
from the inherent sensitivity surrounding matters of faith and belief.
Firstly, delving into the question of God's existence demands a thorough understanding of
diverse philosophical arguments, ranging from classical theism to atheistic viewpoints. The essay
must navigate through complex debates, addressing the ontological, cosmological, and
teleological arguments, among others. Articulating these concepts with clarity and coherence
requires a deep comprehension of intricate philosophical principles.
Additionally, discussing the existence of God involves treading carefully through the diverse
religious and cultural landscapes that shape individual beliefs. Balancing a respectful and
inclusive tone while critically examining different faith traditions adds an extra layer of
complexity to the writing process. Striking the right balance between analytical rigor and
empathy is crucial to fostering a nuanced and insightful discussion.
Moreover, the essay may encounter challenges in reconciling personal perspectives with scholarly
objectivity. Navigating the fine line between subjective belief and academic analysis requires a
deft touch to maintain credibility and resonate with a diverse readership.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of God's existence is undeniably challenging due to
the intellectual depth, cultural sensitivity, and the need for a balanced approach. However, it is
precisely these challenges that make the exploration of such a profound question both rewarding
and thought-provoking.

Report on Chemical composition and Structure of CSH

Introduction:
The C S H gel is the most abundant reaction product in cement, occupying about half
of the paste volume, it is also responsible for most of the properties of cement paste.
This is just not because it is a strong or stable phase but because it forms a continuous
layer that binds the cement particles together.
All the other hydration products of cement form discrete crystals that are naturally
strong but do not have good connections to the solid phases they are in contact with
hence cannot contribute much to the overall strength of the cement paste. C S H gel
gets the ability of the to act as a binding phase from its nanometer level structure.
As C S H gel grows outward from the cement particles, it does not form a single
large block or monolithic solid phase but instead develops a complex internal
system of tiny pores, called gel pores. Gel pores are hundreds or thousands of times
smaller than the original capillary pores which are relatively large. The liquid water
present in the gel pores is not part of the solid C S H phase chemically but it is
physically isolated, thus it cannot undergo any further chemical reaction with the
cement.
When hydrated cement paste is observed under microscope at moderate level of
magnification, we could see two apparently different types of C S H gel. One of
these gel is less dense and more porous that appears to occupy

1. What is (describe) the framework for managing and leading a security force?
A security force is comprised of a team with a mix set of specific skills applicable to
mission accomplishment. The supervisor is learned how to be led and groomed to
be a leader. The successful security force must be coached and mentored by a person
with balanced leadership and organizational management skills. According to
Christopher (2009), the security force is managed and led by someone who can
enable the element to accomplish expected goals. They provide guidance in the face
of adversity. These challenges are growing pains in the development of a security

Ebenezer Scrooge is a grumpy, mean miser who dramatically changes overnight!
Before this amazing transformation though, he was morose and very tough.
Employee Bob Cratchit states, He only paid me 15 shillings a week which was

new and improved Scrooge? Let s hear from his nephew Fred. He said he d rather die

new behavior is attracting people to like him much more. Even though Scrooge had

6. Red Terror Controversy
The Ethiopian Red Terror or Qey Shibir occurred between 1977 and 1978. It was a
violent period of bloodshed, torture and mass murders of Ethiopians from all walks
of life, language groups, genders, ages and professions. The Red Terror took place
in a time where Ethiopia was under the leadership of Mengistu Haile Mariam and
his regime known as Derg (Coordinating Committee of the Armed Forces, Police,
and Territorial Army that ruled Ethiopia from 1974 to 1987 after it took power
following the ousting of Emperor Haile Selassie). Its aim was to counterbalance
another assassination movement from opposition party called white terror. It began
shortly after the deposition of Emperor Haile Selassie but the official campaign of

They disagree with contents which basically say communist is bad, and the purely
evil portray of previous Ethiopian governments. As a place which will be used as a
historical reference in the future, they think a museum, which describe a certain
regime should present both positive and negative facts. The often raise questions why
good deeds of those governments are not found in the museum. As stated by Historian
Martin Meredith and many writers Emperor Haile Selassie is the king who trained
the well known South African racial segregation fighter Mandela and established the
still existing African Union Organization (AU). Mengistu Haile Mariam is also
known for sending troops for maintaining the Zimbabwe s civil war (1965 1979). But,
these stories are not found in the museum. Also, they think Ethiopians have bunches
of political philosophies that are stretched to the very opposite side. Thus, it is not for
a museum to articulate and show visitors that communism is evil with records, which
disguise the relationship Ethiopia used to have with Soviet Union just because the
Soviet Union was a communist
7. Pearson Custom Education, Five Educational Philosophies
In the book Pearson Custom Education, five educational philosophies are discussed
and what each one represents what a teaching and learning is distinctive to each
other and some of them is easily observable in nowadays moment when in contrast,
some of them are rarely to be seen. The first among the five philosophies is
essentialism. It is a teacher centered philosophywhich puts little stock in what
students want in terms of what and how they learn (Powell, 2015, p.71). There are
requirements for students such as: [their] interests not important, [they] must be
discipline; [and their] hard work emphasized (Powell, 2015, p.71). The mainly used
method for teachingwould be direct instruction, memorization, and proven methods
and such... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Its curriculum is mostly based on life experience where knowledge is obtained
through interactions, [and it is] constructed from what is seen, heard, [and] done
(Powell, 2015, p.73). It is like when Rafe takes his students to field trips to give his
students experiential learnings from real life involvement.
The next student centered philosophy is social reconstructionism which is to educate
students in ways that will help society move beyond all forms of discrimination to the
benefit of everyone worldwide. [Unlike from other philosophies], this philosophy
addresses such topics as racial equality, women s rights, sexism, environmental
pollution, poverty, substance abuse, homophobia, and AIDS (Powell, 2015, p.74). In
this philosophy, it wants students be actively involved and engaged with social issues
and teachers as who helps students feel the responsibility for humanity. How Rafe s
teaching assimilates with social reconstructionism is that Rafe also lets his students
face their own life issues during or outside of class and help them think and get to
solutions by themselves. However, Rafe does not force the responsibility for
humanity or any other types of social issue onto his students. He does make his
students know that they will be the future who could influence the world and what is
around them, but no such obligatory is given throughout his teaching. And last but
not least, existentialism is the

Martin Luther King Jr., one of the greatest speakers for the Black
civil rights movement, had written many great works in his time. Two of his
pieces stand out as his greatest works, Letter from Birmingham City Jail; a
letter written from a jail in Birmingham where he was arrested for
demonstrating peacefully, to clergymen who didn t agree with his views, and
I Have a Dream; a speech given by King in front of the Washington Memorial
at a huge civil rights tea party. Both works convey the same message: the
time has come where Black Americans will not stand for civil injustices any

only is this a show of intellect, but it is as well an appeal to the senses
of his audience, for they are, after all, clergymen, and he has justified
his actions on their terms.
By the fifth paragraph, he has stopped trying to use rhetorical
devices, and is well into stating the cold hard facts about the injustice
of Birmingham. He states facts that were obvious to his audience, but they
were unwilling to admit to themselves. Amongst them were the fact that
Birmingham [was] probably the most thoroughly segregated city in the
United States. , and that Its ugly record of brutality [was] widely
known. Not only that, but that Negroes [had] experienced grossly unjust
treatment in the courts. There [had] been more unsolved bombings of Negro

is trying to get rid of.
He goes on to explain how he could understand how they might be

legitimate concern. . By saying so, he has express a concern that he really

Investigating a Factor that Affects the Rate of Decent of a Parachute
Aim To investigate one factor that affects the rate of decent of a
parachute.
Plan
There are many factors that affect the rate of decent of a parachute, some of these
are: The weight of the object on the end of a parachute, the weight of the parachute,
the length of the strings on the end of the parachute, the surface area of the parachute,
and the shape of the parachute. As we were only instructed to investigate one of the
factors listed above we chose to find out how the surface area of a parachute affects it

Firstly we will cut out 8 differently ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We will use sellotape to attach the string to the corners of the parachutes, we must be
carefull to put the sellotape on flat so that the binliner doesn t ruckle and turn the
parachute into a funny shape so it affects the results. We measured both the parachutes
and the strings using a meter ruler.
Thirdly we will attach a lump of plasticine to the ends of the strings of each
parachute. The lump of plasticine must be put on at exactly the same point on the
strings on each parachute so that the out come isn t affected by the parachutes
being pulled down awkwardly or the strings being longer/shorter so that the
parachute touches down quicker/slower. The plasticine should also be exactly the
same mass (5grams) for each parachute because if there is more weight on some of
the parachutes those parachutes will be pulled down faster and if there is less
weight on some of the parachutes those parachutes will be pulled down slower. The
plasticine must also be stuck at the same point on each of the parachute s strings so
that the results aren t affected by the parachute being pulled down awkwardly or the
strings don t vary in length.
Once all of the parachutes are made we will drop each parachute from the ceiling,
which is 2.5m high, and time how long it
11. Melancholy, By Carina Del Valle Schorske
Melancholy, written by Carina del Valle Schorske, presents the reader with the
mystery of melancholy and its relation to clinical depression a relevant, urgent
issue that should indeed be addressed. However, the mystery remains unsolved as
the piece progresses, and not in a way that promotes open ended discussion. The
opening paragraph contains four central themes: melancholy does not equate to
depression; depression is hard to define; a number of well known artists and
writers deal with this affliction and try to capture the feeling in their work;
melancholy s difference from depression lies in its charms. As an introduction to
the piece, the themes clearly display del Valle Schorske s thoughts on melancholy
and depression. It s the body paragraphs that spawn confusion between the four
main ideas. Del Valle Schorske states: The charms of melancholy seem to be the
charms of van Gogh s quietly kaleidoscopic color palette: in one self portrait, every
color used on his face is echoed elsewhere in the surroundings. In only the second
paragraph, del Valle Schorske tackles two of her four themes artists suffer and
melancholy charms in a single sentence. And a few lines later, she throws in a third:
melancholy is not depression: The charms of his work become the charms of his
persona and his predicament. Here is where confusion begins to complicate the main
thesis; van Gogh s work is simultaneously melancholic and a product of depression,
which is a direct contradiction of,
12. Pay It Forward Reflection
A young boy in social studies class is given an assignment, along with the rest of
the students, to come up with an idea that could change the world. As well as
coming up with an idea, the students also have to put it into action. Trevor
McKinney (Haley Joel Osment) does not know nor understand how a kid his age
can change the world. When he is riding his bike home from school, he passes up a
site where a group of homeless people live, and the idea of how he can change the
world comes to him. He figures that if he helps one person, then that person can help
three, and so on. This begins his plan to Pay it Forward.
The movie Pay It Forward (based on a novel by Catherine Ryan Hide) is directed by
Mimi Leder at Warner Brothers Studio. It was released in the year 2000, being a PG
13 drama. Starring in this movie is Kevin Spacey (Eugene Simonet), Helen Hunt
(Arlene McKinney), Haley Joel Osment (Trevor McKinney), Jon Bon Jovi (Arlene s
husband), and Angie Dickinson (Arlene s mother). The main idea of the movie is
for a class of kids to come up with a way to change the world and do it not just talk
about it. The project does not go exactly as Trevor plans it, but it comes out bigger
than he could have imagined.
The acting portrayed in this movie by Haley Joel Osment as the young Trevor
McKinney is excellent. Trevor McKinney is a kid that is wise beyond his years and
very courageous. He is the type of person who is not afraid to speak his mind or take
a stand for what he
13. Customer Communications And External Communication
Customer communications involve a company actively engaging with a customer
directly. This can include direct mailings, texts, telemarketing, and other such
means. This form of external communication is also used by Walmart. Sale
circulars are sent to many households quite regularly. Users of the Walmart mobile
app get several notifications sent directly to their phone, and users can also sign up
to receive emails from Walmart if they choose. By tailoring these messages to target
recipients, a Walmart is able to keep customers engaged and mold their customer s
perception of the company. Social media has become a very popular form of
external communication. Customers now expect the products they use, the stores
they frequent, and the services they receive to be on some sort of social media
whether it is Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat, or the like. While this form of
external communication has its advantages (such as ease of communicating with
existing and potential customers), it also has its drawbacks. First off, the company
cannot control all the comments that come through social media. Negative aspects
of the company can leak through before a company has a chance to do damage
control. Moreover, with Twitter, a 140 character limit can cause a message to be
miscommunicated, possibly hurting a company s reputation. Walmart not only has a
social media presence as a corporation, but it also allows its stores to maintain
individual social media accounts. This allows

Marion Anderson s singing career. In Tepeyac , Sandra Cisneros uses high or

of her past. Describing her memory she states, Green iron gates that arabesque and

tone while explaining Anderson s career. He is unbiased towards her because this is
an informational passage, and the statements within are facts. What is stated in his

Stalin began his replacement of the NEP with the first of the Five Year Plans. The
First Five Year Plan concentrated on heavy industry, such as coal, iron, steel, oil,
and machine production in order to improve the nation s industrialization by 300%
(Marshi). Also, to insure that sufficient electricity is maintained, electricity
production was planned to increase by 600% (Marshi). After the First Five Year
Plan failed, the Second Five Year Plan was put into place. Its intention was to create
a fully socialist economy with the disappearance of money within 1933 1937
(Marshi). The Second Plan was mainly built upon the achievements of the First Plan,
ultimately realizing the successes of the First Plan. While the Second Five Year Plan
did not fail, Stalin still set even higher goals initiating the Third Five Year Plan which
lasted up until 1941. The Third Five Year Plan was focused on huge increases of
production, and completing the process the first two plans laid the foundation for,
enabling the USSR to begin the transition to communism (Oxbridge). Stalin s
propensity to increase production was also found in his want to increase agricultural
productivity, evidenced by collectivization. Collectivization was put into place in
order to finance the industrial development of the USSR as it could not do this with
the old fashioned methods of strip farming, which used antiquated technology
(Rudbeck).
16. Essay on Low Carbohydrate Versus Low Fat Diets
The purpose of this essay is to compare Low carb and Low Fat diets and examine
their similarities and differences. Two studies in the New England Journal of
Medicine provide evidence that in the short term, a low carbohydrate diet helped
people lose weight without any adverse effects. In the last decade, several leading
nutritional scientists have taken the side effects into consideration. They have begun
to think that the low carb diet may be partly right about losing weight, and scientists
are now finally studying whether low fat dietsreally work. However, many people still
question the low carbohydrate diets long term effectiveness and choose to stick to the
traditional low fat diet. In the short... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And therefore, the fat does not get burnt off and there is no weight lost. On the
other hand, in the long term, most nutritional experts are wary of the low
carbohydrate diet s recommendations because of the dramatic, and possibly
hazardous, changes the diet can have on the body. Among the many concerns are
possible vitamin deficiencies, dehydration, gastrointestinal problems, and kidney,
heart and gallbladder disease. Some short term benefits from a low fat diet have
been documented, but similarly to the low carb diet, none have held up long term.
In the short term people lower their cholesterol by eating less fatty foods. It was
subsequently shown that saturated fats, as well as dietary cholesterol, elevate
plasma total and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol by down regulating the
LDL receptors in the liver. There is little doubt that Americans have improved their
health by lowering their dietary intake of fat. Low fat diets are often advocated for
weight reduction and to lower the risk of coronary heart disease and certain forms
of cancer. However in the short term, there is no universal agreement about the
value of low fat diets, because over time most people seem to gain the weight back.
In the long term, there have been several lasting effects of the Low fat diet. First,
low fat diets often cause an inadequate protein intake. Without protein our bodies can
t rebuild properly. Low fat diets also

18. Chapter 2 Basic Aerodynamics
Chapter 2
Basic Aerodynamic
What is aerodynamics?
Aerodynamics is the way air moves around things. The rules of aerodynamics
explain how an airplane is able to fly. Anything that moves through air reacts to
aerodynamics. A rocket blasting off the launch pad and a kite in the sky react to
aerodynamics. Aerodynamics even acts on cars, since air flows around cars.
What Are the Four Forces of Flight?
The four forces of flight are lift, weight, thrust and drag. These forces make an
object move up and down, and faster or slower. How much of each force there is
changes how the object moves through the air. What Is Weight?
Everything on Earth has weight. This force comes from gravity pulling down on
objects. To fly, an aircraft needs something to push it in the opposite direction from
gravity. The weight of an object controls how strong ... Show more content on
Helpwriting.net ...
Lift is the push that lets something move up. It is the force that is the opposite of
weight. Everything that flies must have lift. For an aircraft to move upward, it must
have more lift than weight. A hot air balloon has lift because the hot air inside is
lighter than the air around it. Hot air rises and carries the balloon with it. A
helicopter s lift comes from the rotor blades at the top of the helicopter. Their motion
through the air moves the helicopter upward. Lift for an airplane comes from its
wings.
How Do an Airplane s Wings Provide Lift?
The shape of an airplane s wings is what makes it able to fly. Airplanes wings are
curved on top and flatter on the bottom. That shape makes air flow over the top
faster than under the bottom. So, less air pressure is on top of the wing. This
condition makes the wing, and the airplane it s attached to, move up. Using curves
to change air pressure is a trick used on many aircraft. Helicopter rotor blades use
this trick. Lift for kites also comes from a curved shape. Even sailboats use this
concept. A boat s sail is like a wing. That s what makes the sailboat move. What Is

22. The M16 Essay
The M16
With its light weight of less than six pounds and its powerful ammunition, small
5.56mm circumference, short 38.80 inch long body, a whipping 3,250 feet per
second muzzle velocity, and a maximum efficiency range of 460 meters the M16 is
the most versatile standard issue rifle of any army. You may think that the brains of
the government s army may have devised the plan to make the M16, but it was none
other than the brains of
John Hopkins University where the development of the M16 first began in
September of the year of 1948.1 The ability of being selective firing was the main
point of interest for the army. Also another high point is that the ammunition must be

The cartridges were lighter and so was the gun. The recoil or kick was down to an
incredible two inches from the enormous ten inches put out by the now obsolete
M14. Because the ammunition of the M16 is a lot smaller the
United States soldier can carry a whole lot more ammunition than he previously
could. The lower size and weight means that the M16 assault rifle is maneuvered
better and is also handled easier.5 Eugene Stoner took many features from other army
s standard issue rifles and made the ultimate weapon above and beyond any other gun
available just for the United States
Army s soldier. Stoner also made the M16 extremely cheap to manufacture, and
also easy to use.6 When the M16 was first field tested it had a few bugs to pull out
and fix. Stoner promptly fixed them and it was tested again. It was fine except the
army told the soldiers that the
M16 did not need to be cleaned. This led to severe problems.
The army used a ball gun powder instead of the regular gun powder to give the M16
some more kick. The ball powder melts and becomes gummy and clogs up the gun s
barrel causing the
M16 to jam and malfunction.7 The M16 was first put into action in the year of 1968 in
Vietnam. Some soldiers had loaded guns but when the soldiers were within arm s

23. Their Eyes Were Watching God Literary Analysis
The arrival of spring brings with it the blossoming of many easily swayed, naive
adolescents. In Zora Neale Hurston s novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God , Janie
(the main character) positively radiates these types of emotions. It becomes known
to any reader that the evocation of these experimental behaviors is a clear indication
of Janie s point of view on what loveshould really be like. The sheer fact that the
subject is so very reoccurring transforms this simplistic symbol into a motif. This
prompt shall discuss the reason as to why Hurston chooses to revisit this idea of a
pear tree in blossom whenever Janie experiences a seemingly familiar and yet
unknown form of love in the few men she meets.
The prevailing theme in the story would be Janie s many ups and downs when it
comes to how she confronts her inner self; especially when it comes to her
youthful vision of love. An example of this would be, She had glossy leaves and
bursting buds and she wanted to struggle with life but it seemed to elude her.
(Hurston 11) This statement fulfills the assumption that with all the coddling life
has done to Janie, she will consequently receive a more oriented and richer of who
she is. She is given time to explore herself, and as a teenager, she starts to come of
han age in which she realizes what it means to love in her mind. Her sense of love
is constantly brought up again and again in order to engrave the idea that Janie may
never be truly satisfied with the love she
24. Description Of A Graph
Use the map to create a graph where vertices represent street intersections and edges
represent streets. Define c(u,v) = 1 for all edges (u,v). Since a street can be
traversed, start off by creating a directed edge in each direction, then make the
transformation to a flow problem with no antiparallel edges as described in the
section. Make the home the source and the school the sink. If there exist at least
two distinct paths from source to sink then the flow will be at least 2 because we
could assign f(u,v) = 1 for each of those edges. However, if there is at most one
distinct path from source to sink then there must exist a bridge edge (u, v) whose
removal would disconnect s from t. Since c(u, v) = 1, the flow into u is at most 1.
We may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Exercise 26.2 10
Suppose we already have a maximum flow f. Consider a new graph G where we set
the capacity of edge (u, v) to f (u, v). Run Ford Fulkerson, with the mod ification
that we remove an edge if its flow reaches its capacity. In other words, if f(u,v) =
c(u,v) then there should be no reverse edge appearing in residual network. This
will still produce correct output in our case because we never exceed the actual
maximum flow through an edge, so it is never advantageous to cancel flow. The
augmenting paths chosen in this modified version of Ford Fulkerson are precisely
the ones we want. There are at most |E| because every augmenting path produces at
least one edge whose flow is equal to its capacity, which we set to be the actual flow
for the edge in a maximum flow, and our modification prevents us from ever
destroying this progress.
Problem 26 5
a. Since the capacity of a cut is the sum of the capacity of the edges going from a
vertex on one side to a vertex on the other, it is less than or equal to the sum of the
capacities of all of the edges. Since each of the edges has a capacity that is ≤ C,
if we were to replace the capacity of each edge with C, we would only be
potentially increasing the sum of the capacities of all the edges. After so changing
the capacities of the edges, the sum of the capacities of all the edges is equal to C|E|,
potentially an overestimate of the original capacity of any cut, and so of the
minimum cut.

Gwendolyn Brooks was sitting in her dimly lit living room, which she had kept this

question her about her recent achievement. She knew that when they went to plug

when they plugged everything in, all of it worked perfectly. Someone had been

28. The United States Should Allow Refugees
A couple months ago, 2017 arrived and brought controversial topics and arguments.
Some of these political disagreements are about the 2016 election and the current
president of the United States, Donald Trump. President Trump has already made
executive orders in his time in office. One executive order was to tighten the vetting
of immigrants and visitors and ban the refugees who want to settle in the United States
. This order ignited protests and riots among some groups of people who were and
are still upset and want to help others who are escaping their country and coming to
the U.S. to seek safety. The United States should allow refugees into its county.
Allowing refugees into the United States has worked before; it is difficult to come
into the U.S. as a refugee, and it is humane to help others.

My dad is a heavy drinker. Every single day after work he comes home with a six

been like this for a couple of years. If he doesn t get his beer he begins to act out. He
becomes un easy, aggravated, inpatient, grouchy, loud, and intolerable. His health is
in bad conditions, but he is not letting that stop him from drinking. Alcohol is

for the body, long term alcohol consumption can become an addiction. Just like any
other drug, alcohol is bad on the body. One of the most common causes of cirrhosis

Folk medicine is created through groups of individuals and spreads due to the

region, folk medicine is important in creating the knowledge and treatments of

influence of Native American, African American, and Euro American cultures. Due
to isolation of the region, the elements of Appalachian folk medicine is comprised of

The Appalachian region is an isolated area due to the geography, which has made it

therefore, the people have relied on their own folk remedies for the a cure

provided an environment favorable to the rapid spread of contagious or infectious
diseases. The improper disposal of human waste accounted for the high prevalence
of typhoid fever, hookworm, roundworm, cholera, and dysentery. Many families
instead of having an outhouse or latrine, simply evacuated (Cavender 20) in closed

where they should be placed; therefore, waste seepage from outhouses infected wells
and streams in the vicinity (Cavender 20 21). Due to isolation and poor lifestyles, the

31. Lord of the Flies Violence
How does Golding use violence in the novel Lord of the Flies ?
In the novel Lord of the Flies , Golding uses the theme of violence surfacing
throughout the text. One reason for this was, Golding believed that every individual
has the potential for evil and that the flawed human nature is seen in mankind s
essential sickness . His belief in this arrived through his time spent in war, so his
aim was to challenge Ballantyne s novel Coral Island , and in which Golding s book
the truth would be shown about his own thoughts of the darkness of mankind. As the
theme of violence is in the heart of the novel, another reason of this is due to the
quick breakdown of civilisation on the island. Through the breakdown, an ideal

The first act of destruction on the island follows the idea of the diseases and fallen
human nature, is the pushing of the boulder. After three of the boys have noticed the
boulder, they decide to accept the challenge , which they succeed in doing so. The
fact that they didn t need to remove the boulder from the mountain portrays the fact
that the smallest things that the boys notice in their way have to be somehow
destroyed. This displays the temptation in which the island is leading them to, as if
they are obsessed by the thought of destruction in these early stages. The pushing of
the rock symbolises the naturally destructive instincts that loses the innocence inside
the children who are immediate to disturb the harmony of the island, following
Golding s theories. The islands reaction to the rock is through the forest shaking with
the passage of an enraged monster . Golding uses the word monster to describe this,
to imply that the boys have let out a metaphorical beast onto the island which
portrays the evil inside of the boys beginning to become exposed and their evil nature
beginning. Furthermore, this portrays the battle between the diseased mankind and
the natural world starting to corrupt the island.
However, in contrast to this when Jack comes across a pig, evidentially to kill as he
assigned himself the role of hunter, Jack is unable to murder the animal. Golding

He also accidentally killed his puppy and Curley s wife. However, after each death,
Lennie showed immediate remorse and extreme distress. He never intended for the
death of any individual but due to his mental handicap and enormous strength, it
seems to be a common occurrence. If Lennie was not prematurely killed by George
the future confrontation with Curley and the other farm hands would not have ended
without blood due to Lennie s incredible strength. Thus Lennie s death not only
secures the safety of himself but other individuals. Lennie is a danger to those around

circumstances, it only reinforces George s decision as morally

Qualities of a troop commander on operations today. Encapsulating
A leader is a dealer in hope (In the Service of the Sultan) is perhaps the most
effective quote from the set reading for summing up the role of a troop commander
on operations today.
Obviously the task, that is, the job that needs to be accomplished by the troop
commander and his troop vary on a day to day basis and (depending on the conflict
or situation) can be incredibly diverse. Despite this fact the responsibility of the
troop commander remains the same whatever the job, to control and motivate those
under his command to get the job done. The key to achieving this responsibility is
the ability to deal hope or perhaps a better term is to inspire .

A troop commander needs to make good decisions and a good level of judgement is
essential in the decision making process. This ability to understand and apply
information also affects the essential relationship between a troop commander and
the NCO s within his platoon. A troop commander (as Sydney Jary points out and
repeatedly demonstrates in 18 Platoon) must be able to work with and use the
experience of his NCO s in order to come to the best course of action and a good
sense of judgement in order to establish when to use or reject suggestions by those
under ones command is an important quality in building and maintaining the
professional relationships essential in commanding a troop. Tied into this is the
ability to judge the best method of managing the troop and individuals within the
troop, to establish whether or not firmness or a greater degree of informality is best
for achieving a grip on the troop.
A troop commander on operations also must be a good communicator, in order that
his decisions and judgements are understood clearly by those under his command.
This is not only essential in ensuring that the task is carried out the way intended but
is also crucially important in maintaining a workable relationship with the troop, so
that those under ones command understand why decisions have been taken the way
they are. The ability to communicate is also

While supporters of prison labor argue that it helps the economy as well as benefits
prisoners. On this issue I stand on the side of the supporters. By having prisoners

ending cycle going. So one useful way inmates can pay their debt to society is by
prison labor. When inmates are working a percentage of their wages is withheld and
that money goes to house inmates and run prisons, thus relieving the economic
burden of the government and taxpayers. Since these people committed the crimes,
there is no reason why the entire society should support them. Having inmates
contribute to the costs, especially when it benefits the prisoners as well is a great
way to reduce spending
42. Marriott Honor College Motto
The University of Utah Honors College motto engraved on the rock outside of the
Marriott Honors Center reads Serve the World . The motto assumed to be written
and approved by the donor and honors boards is an attempt to inspire college
students through a short phrase. It s safe to say the people on these boards have
good hearted motives in writing a phrase they believe will drive honors students to
have an unstoppable drive to produce a positive change in the world. Aspiring to be a
phrase vague enough to make students want to find the solution for climate change,
cure cancer, and end world hunger; while also being a phrase that is powerful enough
to make students feel like they have the power to change serve the world, the motto
attempts to reach near impossible heights. The well intentioned... Show more content

The motto written by unknown author however is too abstract to convey any
directional importance, is too similar to the motto s of BYU, and it is short and
overwhelming. It is important to understand and appreciate what the board was
trying to do, whether they were trying to please donors, they were donors, or
maybe that s just what the board found the most uplifting, but if the organization is
expecting to create critically minded students like the Honor s College tries to
pride itself in doing; the motto needs to convey that. It not only needs to reflect
and satisfy what the donors and board are trying to do but also accomplish the
goals of the University s Honors College as well, so that money continues to flow
into programs like the Honors College, but the programs can also carry out their
objectives. If satisfying the donors is too distant of a distraction from the end goal, it
is not worth their donations. Taking a quote from a well known respected
philosopher could be the answer to the

Theater in the Elizabethan Era When people think about theater in the Elizabethan
Era, people usually think of William Shakespeare first. The Elizabethan theater was
so much more than just Shakespeare. Theater In this time was not only plays, but
included things such as bear baiting, cock fighting and public executions (
Elizabethan Theatre ). The Elizabethan Era was during the reign of Queen Elizabeth
which lasted from 1558 until 1603 (Singman 6 7). The social, economic and
political climate of the era all help to make theater popular with all social classes.
The Elizabethan Era was a time of renaissance or rebirth of culture and arts in
England. Along with this came the popularity of the English Theater.
Elizabethan Era
The Elizabethan Era began in 1558 when the prior Queen, Queen Mary I died and
Queen Elizabeth I took the throne ( Elizabethan Age Begins ). Queen Elizabeth I
was the half sister of Queen Mary and both were the daughters of King Henry VIII (
Elizabethan Age Begins ). Queen Elizabeth I was a protestant and after taking the
throne established the Protestant Church of England as the official church in
England ( Elizabethan Age Begins ). Queen Elizabeth also encouraged exploration
by backing such explorers as Sir Francis Drake and Sir Walter Raleigh ( Elizabethan
Age Begins ). Queen Elizabeth was known as the Virgin Queen because she was
worried that marrying would weaken her power while on the throne.
45. Woodrow Wilson s Impact On The World And Foreign...
Woodrow Wilson saw the end of the Great War as an opportunity to attempt to remake
the World and foreign relations with progressive ideals. His ultimate goal was to
establish permanent global peace and international cooperation among a concert of
democratic nations. Wilsonianism would greatly impact modern era Presidents
Foreign policy attempts to influence the world in the twentieth and twenty first
centuries. Specifically, after World War II during the Cold War
the U.S. was
instrumental in the promotion of the safety of all nations from, poverty, want, chaos
and authoritarian rule (CP 142). Truman as President took international action to
keep the world safe for democracy by carrying out his own interpretation Wilsonian
foreign policy known as the Truman Doctrine. The Truman Doctrine sought to
combat the spread of communism through financial and military counter forces. Not
all of Truman s efforts for U.S. intervention were as fruitful for the U.S.
internationally or economically as his advisors had predicted. Nor did the Truman
Doctrine always create the intended and desired outcomes they had hoped to achieve
in securing democratic nations as trading partners and allies against the expansion of
communist regimes. The attempts of the United States to remake the World after
WWI and WWII were only partially achieved. The United States pursued a successful
policy of containment with in Western Europe; however the U.S. failed to accomplish
these policies globally with to the
46. A Brief Note On The Dormant Form Of Tuberculosis ( Tb )
A huge caution associated with the use of adalimumab is its ability to reactivate, or
make one more susceptible to infection. This is because it inhibits TNFО± which
plays a role in the fighting of infections. Reactivating the dormant form of
tuberculosis (TB) is one of the most important infectious adverse reactions in those
taking adalimumab. Consequently, patients are assessed for tuberculosis before being
offered adalimumab. Other infections include septicaemia and hepatitis B. As a
general rule of thumb, evaluation for infection before, during and 4 months post
treatment should occur. Treatment should not be started until the infection is
controlled and it is advised that adalimumab be avoided in patients on drugs that alter
immune function (e.g. immunosuppressants). Respiratory tract infections such as
sinitis, lower and upper tract infections are most commonly reported. Other common
side effects are nausea, headaches and rash. Live vaccines are also advised to be
avoided in patients taking adalimumab, despite the lack of supporting evidence that
concomitant use causes significant harm or affects the efficacy of either treatment.
Asides from infections, adalimumab has been shown to cause reactions at the
injection site including rashes (sometimes in the form of urticaria itchy rash),
eczema, reddening skin sometimes accompanied by pain and swelling. As an
antibody, adalimumab is structurally able to trigger an immune response where parts
of it can be
47. Fraud As A Civil Wrong
Fraud is unfortunately a subject that many companies and even people have
problems controlling. Fraud is defined as deliberate deception to secure unfair or
unlawful gain. It is said that fraud is both a civil wrong where a fraud victim may
sue the fraud perpetrator to avoid the fraud or recover monetary compensation and a
criminal wrong where a fraudperpetrator may be prosecuted and imprisoned by
government authorities. There are many purposes of fraud that may include
monetary gain or other benefits. As a civil wrong in common law jurisdictions,
fraud is referred to as a tort. It is stated that while the precise definitions and
requirements of proof may vary among jurisdictions, the necessary elements of fraud
as a tort generally are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In cases of fraudulently induced contract, fraud may serve as a defense in a civil
action for breach of contract or specific performance of control. As a criminal
offense in common law jurisdictions fraud takes many different forms, some general
and some specific to certain categories of victims. The necessary elements of perhaps
most general form of criminal fraud, theft by false pretense, are the intentional
deception of a victim by false representation or pretense with the intent of persuading
the victim to part with properly and with the victim parting with property in
dependency on the representation or pretense and with the perpetrator intending to
keep the properly from the victim. It also reads that in civil law systems and other
legal systems the concept of fraud seems to exist, but its elements and application
may or may not vary significantly from the common law system concepts discussed.
There are many types of fraudulent acts. Fraud can be committed many ways which
include mail, wire, phone, and the internet such as computer crimes and internet
fraud. Internet fraud is something that we have all heard of many times before. With
international dimensions of the web and ease with which users can hide their
location , the difficulty of checking indentity , and the simplicity with which hackers
can divert browsers to dishonest sites and steal credit card details have all
contributed to the very rapid growth of internet

Link 1 Serial Killers have fascinated the imaginations Jeffrey Dahmer Spencer Link
2150760 Serial killers have fascinated the imaginations of people for a long time.
One of the most notorious serial killers is Jeffrey Dahmer whose gruesome
murders shocked the nation. Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer also known as Milwaukee
monster was a notorious American serial killer and sexual offender in the 1980s
and early 1990s. Between 1978 and 1991 Dahmer had murdered 17 men. His
victims were usually raped, tortured, dismembered, and cannibalism was also
involved. Jeffrey was a troubled child psychologically and his social skills had a
lot to be desired. All the way through his childhood he was ignored and had queer
fantasies of cadavers. In his adulthood this psychosocial status quo didn t change
and was in fact aggravated. Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer was born on May 21st, 1960 in
West Allis, Wisconson. He was born to Mother, Joyce Dahmer and Father, Lionel

automobiles and industrial lubricants sector and its known for presenting an
extensive assortment of greases, oils and related products for mainly those

50. Labor Unions And The American Labor Relations Act Of...
Before the 1930s, labor unions had little to no voice in the contracts of industrialized
companies. Labor Unions are organizations of workers whose primary objectives are
to improve the pecuniary and nonpecuniary conditions or employment among their
members (Ehrenberg Smith, pg. 451). The Christian Labour Association of Canada
(CLAC) and the United Automobiles Workers (UAW) are different unions in Canada
and the Unites States. Even though they have some similarities, the two groups have
many differences as well. Some similarities include how they bargain and negotiate.
However, they differ in the type of union, what they stand for, how large they are,
why and when they started, and what they negotiate for. Unions were finally able to
form in the Unites States because the National Labor Relations Act of 1935 passed,
which required employers to bargain with unions that represented the majority of
their employees (Ehrenberg Smith, pg. 453). Because of the National Labor
Relations Act, unions could legally form and be recognized by employers. The
United Automobiles Workers (UAW) began in May of 1935 in Detroit, Michigan.
Initially, 200 delegates from different automobile companies met in Detroit to
establish the UAW, and its power over negotiating strengthen just a few years after
forming. The UAW created a union for auto plant workers, which made them an
industrial union. The UAW represents different types of workplaces from
multinational corporations, small
