The pathophysiology of the two types of Diabetes Mellitus are described by
Schilling (2010). Type 1 Non InsulinDependent Diabetes Mellitus starts with a viral
infection or other triggering condition that forms antibodies that destroy the beta
cells within the pancreas. This causes the pancreas production of insulin to drop
over time. Initially, the body uses the insulin that was already produced, but as the
insulin decreases, the cells within the body are not able to receive and use the
glucose. The sugar remains in the bloodstream after digestion and the negative
effects of hyperglycemia become more damaging. With Type 1, about 90% or the
beta cells are killed by the antibodies.

DAY 11 I got up, ate my cold mushy oatmeal and prepared for my day s trek. I spent
time looking back on my trip thus far which happens when you re all alone on the
world s largest mountain. I realized that I might not be the sole survivor. When my
team members ran into their tents, they might have been getting their avalanche
packs. An avalanche packis basically the climbing equivalent to an airbag. If you get
caught in an avalanche, you deploy it and it can prevent you from sinking into the

My Views On Art As A Child
Admittedly, I never retained much of an interest in art as a child. Yes, I knew the
basic mechanics behind mixing primary colors to make secondary ones, and had

with a fellow classmate to work on our first outside of class writing assignment,

layout from a previous visit as a little girl, three oil paintings from the Victorian era
caught my eye. While they share an initial similarity with each other in their

Symptoms And Treatment Of Patients
RESULTS
This study included 30 patients (21 females and 9 males, table 1) who received 45
TAP blocks. The blocks were performed after patients failed medication
management. Twenty five patients reported one or more abdominal surgeries
before the development of pain and attributed their pain to surgery (Table 2). Eight
blocks were performed on the left side, 12 on the right side, and 25 bilateral. One
patient missed the follow up, 9 blocks were reported to be ineffective (3 patients in
this group were labelled opioid seekers), and 6 patients reported ongoing
improvement. The procedure improved pain in 79.5% of the performed blocks. At
presentation, 17 patients reported some gastrointestinal symptoms in addition to the
chronic abdominal pain, while the rest of the patients reported no gastrointestinal
symptoms or complaints and pain was the sole complaint (Table 3). The percent
improvement was 54.7% В± 36.4% for a duration of 0 490 days and ongoing for the
44 blocks with complete data (excluding the one patient with the missing follow up).
We also reported medication consumption before and after the procedure, accounting
for all medications used for treating pain, anxiety and sleep. We found that there was
no significant change in medication use for the following medications before and
after the procedure: acetaminophen, alprazolam, aspirin, baclofen, buspirone,

Saving Private Ryan is a film staged within World War II, during which an incredible
mission to locate and bring home Private Ryan is launched in behind enemy lines
within Europe. The return of Private Ryan is hoped to increase moral in the homeland
and benefit combat efforts. Captain Miller is in charge of the reluctant team tasked
with the rescue mission of Private Ryan, not knowing where he is at or if he is
even alive. The company finally finds Private Ryan even after several enemy
encounters and finding another soldier named Private Ryan . Once Private Ryan is
located they give him the news that his three brothers were killed while fighting in
the war. Private Ryan chooses not to go home and continues to fight in the war....
His fear overcame him and he froze up resulting in failing to accomplish his duty as a
soldier. Once again, using deontological ethics, if the presence of a good will is what
makes an action morally good, regardless of its consequence (Rosenstand 2013, page
284). So, even though the Corporal was not able to engage the enemy due to his fear
overcoming him, he is still admirable for attempting to do the right thing. Although
the film Saving Private Ryan can be viewed through several moral views, overall the
film can be best viewed through the deontological ethics. The majority of the film is
based off of someone intending to do the right thing even when the consequences
were high. The company had duties to uphold as soldiers and they did what they had
to in order to fulfill them. According to Kant, humans usually know what they ought
to do, and that is almost always the opposite of what they want to do (Rosenstand

Character Analysis Of The Godfather
The Godfather was directed by Francis Ford Coppola and was released in 1972. It
starred Al Pacino and Marlon Brando as the two main characters. This movie is
one of the best films to grace the big screen to this date. It has a very well executed
plot as well. I like this movie a lot, portrays generally unlikeable characters in a
sympathetic light and by the end of the movie you are truly rooting for them. I like
that Coppola takes a very unlikeable subject and generally bad people and turns them
into people that you are rooting for and want them to generally succeed. The way
Coppola does this is through the way he develops the characters. The development of
these mobsters throughout this movie is fantastic. Michael Corleone(Al Pacino) is the
epitome of this concept. At the beginning he is a returning Veteran who wants
nothing to do with the family crime business. By the end he has transformed to a
ruthless yet caring mob boss. He has a personal conflict that most people can relate
to. He is conflicted between pleasing his parents and pleasing himself. In the end he
takes a hybrid route choosing to be a caring yet ruthless mob boss; separating
business and personal matters. Michael may be the best example, but the whole

In his first essay of Ways of Seeing, John Berger claims that all power, authority,

Research Methods And Methods Of Research
Studying research method was not a new experience since I have studied about it in
my under graduate school. In comparison from the previous one I had, ULMS 515
Applied Research Methods Module has enhanced my understanding about how to
conduct a research in an appropriate way to be implemented in the real world setting.
I learned to appreciate the nature of researchand the research process in academic and
practical contexts. This module also enables me to develop my understanding in the
differences between primary and secondary data, the awareness to carefully identify
research methods and technique related to data collection. This brings me to be able
to identify the suitable methods for collecting data and analysing data that will result
in the answer of the research question.
For me, the most meaningful experience was when I started to feel that doing
research is not that boring. Previously, I thought that doing research was very boring,
difficult, and useless. This might be because of the situation in my organisation
where there were so many research papers that has no meaning to be implemented in
the organisation. Having experienced this module learning, I now realise that
research can be very challenging but useful if we can serve it in an appropriate
practical way. This module has taught me that the complexity in doing research can

Communication is an important part of a business to work. For a working
environment to succeed, a company s ideas, knowledge, or opinions are useless
unless there is effective workplace communication. Upward communication is the
flow of information from frontline employees to managers, supervisors, and directors.
This process differs from the more commonly used method of downward
communication. Both communication processes require individuals to exchange
information with one another with the mindset to influence one s thoughts,
behaviors, increase understanding, and help the organization function smoothly.
