The Event That Changed My Life Essay
Describe an event from your past and how it shaped you as a person. nbsp; I m a
victim, I thought. The books were closed. The papers were signed. It was official. The
next school year, I would enter the fifth grade again. nbsp; I knew I was gifted and
capable of more, but after we moved from urban Oklahoma City to Tulsa before the
fourth grade, my intelligence was meaningless. Suburban school luxuries like computers,
advanced math, and special ways to learn English flooded my brain. Homework was an
afterthought. nbsp; Homework was not an afterthought to my fifth grade teacher,
however. With her annoying, dogged persistency, Mrs. Thomas gave me zero slips
whenever I forgot an assignment. She was on a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Tears welled up in my eyes but anger manifest itself instead. It s not fair. My grades
may be bad, I grumbled angrily, but I m NOT stupid. nbsp; Yet stupidly, I refused to
ask for help. nbsp; Stupidly, I let the entire year pass me by. nbsp; The end of school
came eventually, and I abandoned dreams of the sixth grade. Luckily, I was
transferring to another elementary school, but this offered me little consolation. Only
dummies have to repeat a grade. nbsp; The final bell rang, and students erupted in a
joyful chorus of cheers as summer break began. I sang a melancholy dirge of self pity.
My bitterness increased as I waited for my mother to pick me up. She came at last and
I jumped up, anxious to leave forever. Again, Mrs. Thomas thwarted my plans; she
came outside to talk to my mother, undoubtedly about my ignominious fate. As they
murmured, I viewed the co conspirators with hostile eyes. I m a victim, the final sigh
of my fifth grade year whispered wearily. nbsp; Before I could escape, she had to
heighten my torture with a few words of wisdom and the obligatory good bye. I
ignored her words as she stood before me. Her words had not averted this horrible
moment. I prayed that she was done, but soon she had her arms around me. Not
strangling my incorrigible neck, but hugging my ten year old shoulders. nbsp; I
remember few details of this hug. First,
Range Of Motion
Range of motion refers to the full potential movement of a joint. This movement
typically comprises the range of flexion and extension along a particular axis. Limited
range of motion is caused by a decline in a joints ability to move like it should. This is
caused by pain, swelling, or stiffness in the jointarea. A goniometer is a tool that is used
by therapists to measure the range of motion of a joint in a client s body. This is done by
the therapist placing the center of the goniometer on the joint that is being evaluated.
Next, the therapist aligns the main arm of the goniometer with the trunk of the client s
body while moving the measuring arm with the client s arm or leg as they flex or extend
their limb.

I have personally witnessed many times that an occupational therapist used these
techniques to assess their client. Not only does this measurement let the therapist know
how much the client is improving over time, but it can also build confidence in the client
by knowing that the work they are putting into therapy is paying off. Recording a client s
range of motion is a good way to keep track of what stage of the recovery process the
client may be in. Many times a client will go to an occupational therapist, because they
cannot complete their full range of motion without experiencing pain or fatigue.
Through my research, I was surprised to see how many different types of tools there are
available for testing range of motion and other therapy related tests. I learned a small
amount about a Baseline Wrist Inclinometer, a Baseline AcuAngle Inclinometer, and a
Baseline Scoliometer. Although not all of these tools measure the range of motion, they
are still fun to learn about. I look forward to learning more hands on techniques

Essay on Protest Songs Throughout the Vietnam War
Throughout all the anti war protests and marches during the Vietnam War, it is
interesting to note the changes in the music of that time. From the beginning of the war,
where support and loyalty from Americans was present in songs, to the end of the war,
where anger and distrust was evident in musical lyrics, American s opinion changed
about the war. This change in opinion was easily recognized by the altering of musical
lyrics about the war when Americans grew tired of the constant sending of U.S. troops to
Vietnam. The growing dissatisfaction with the Vietnam War led to increasing levels of
anger and hostility in the popular music of the time. In 1965, Lyndon Johnson, with solid
support from the American public, made the decision to... Show more content on

This area in San Francisco named after two interesting streets became a mecca, of sorts
for the hippie movement. It was a generally peaceful movement advocating universal
love and rejection of conventional values. They used songs such as Where have all the
Glowers Gone and Blowin in the Wind to convey an anti war message, that still had a
peaceful tone. In Where have all the Flowers Gone, the girl in the song could be
considered a metaphor for society in general repeating cycles of history, such as war,
without learning from them. When Bob Dylan sang Blowin in the Wind he alluded to
the answer to war being right in front of us but the inability to grasp it: Dylan says, Yes,
n how many deaths will it take till he knows/That too many people have died/The
answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind, (Lyrics.com).
As more and more troops were being sent to Vietnam, and the casualties began to rise,
people began to question the government s involvement. Even military troops came to
mistrust their government s reasons for keeping them there, as well as Washington s
claims that the war was being won .(Vietnam War) The Vietnam war was the first war
to be broadcast on television. This meant that for the first time the American people
were able to see the war instead of just hearing about it on the radio. They were able to

Like Water For Chocolate Mother
How do the mother and child relations, in the books, Blood Wedding and Like Water
For Chocolate reveal the characteristics of the mothers? Mother and child relations are
portrayed in our factual life, which affect the child, and it s up bringing. Some relations
are very solicitous and create a greater bond between each other, while some do not. The
authors Federico Garcia Lorca and Laura Esquivel implement characters with relations of
mother and child to show the characteristics of the mothers through their relations with
their children, and form the plot. These relations and feelings between the two books
Blood Wedding and Like Water For Chocolate connect to our real world. The qualities of
a mother are expressed, through the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrary, Laura Esquivel portrays Mama Elena as a widow, who does not allow
Tita to marry anyone, as long as Mama Elena lives; as per the De La Garza tradition.
Mama Elena enforces her do all the chores in the house and treats her like a
housekeeper. For Mama Elena, tradition was above her daughter, which obstructs Tita
from being loved by her mother. Thus, this shows the affection between mother and
child in the two books was opposite, which hints the audience the character of Mama
Elena to be a selfish, stern and a ruthless mother, while the Bridegroom s Mother to be
an affectionate, tender woman. Both the authors, Federico Garcia Lorca and Laura
Esquivel show deep affection in between the mother child bond. In Like Water For
Chocolate, Tita nurses and feeds Rosaura s child, without being a mother, which builds a
mother and child relation between the two. Similarly, such affection is also portrayed
when Leonardo s wife sings a lullaby to her child, to put him to sleep. Thus, there is
common affection in the books, to enable the reader/audience understand the real
connection between mother and child. Both the mothers are possessive and care about
their child to different extents. In Blood Wedding, the Mother lets her Husband and
Leonardo s son leave, which causes their death through Felix. Therefore, due to this loss
the Mother suffered, she is more affectionate towards Leonardo. She then requests the

Medieval Music And England During The Time Of 1066-1500
Medieval Music in England from 1066 1500s
What significant developments or achievements from Medieval Music in England
during the time of 1066 1500 CE has had an impact on today s music and how?
The Medieval Times had a lot of trading and invasions of new lands. Countries exchanged
ideas to other countries, introducing new discoveries and inventions. During Medieval
England, music was a current and changing development, with composers changing their
music all the way to the growth and decisions of the Catholic Church. But without other
foreign countries and kingdoms such as France and Germany, todays would have not
been what it is now. The Importance of Medieval Musicin England
Music was a very important asset to the peoples society. According to historians, the
medieval period was the beginning of the unbroken tradition of notated Western
music. Music was the one thing that all classes could enjoy, royals, nobles, women,
slaves, anyone could listen to music being played out on the streets. Music was used
in cathedrals and abbeys, dances and was even part of poetry. Most of the poetry from
the Medieval Period known today were sung in front of crowds during events and
festivals. Vocal music was very important in churches and worshipping. Back in the
medieval time, there weren t any radios, so all of the music was played live. Festivals,
celebrations and the holiday season were very popular times for music. During an
important holiday, Mayday, the dancers danced to high
The Hobbit Movie Vs Book
One Dwarf. Two Dwarf.Three Dwarf. Beorn!
ВЁThe HobbitВЁ written by J.R.R Tolkien, movie directed by Peter Jackson is a tale
that tells of a party who longs to reclaim their long forgotten gold, and how characters
develop throughout the story. This storyline is of twelve dwarves, a wizard, and one
hobbit going on an adventure. An adventure of a mountain full of treasure and
frightening beings. When Beorn, (someone who helps the dwarves survive during the
quest) is first introduced, he is introduced as a man in the book and is, really important
,but in the movie he is introduced as a creature that takes the form of a bear. The changes
that director Peter Jackson made are effective because, it will interest the viewer more so

Tolkien s intent on including Beorn in the book is to allow the dwarves to be in a
situation of which they can not decide their own fate; that it is up to Beorn to help
them or not to help them. Beorn is portrayed as the antagonist in this particular scene in
the movie because of the frightening music and the dull, dark lighting ,and the way his
character looks. Jackson did this to, in a way, trick the viewers. In order to have this
done he had to make Beorn act and look unpredictable. This was to create suspense
about the film. Overall, he he had to look scarey but then reasonable.
Those who disagree believe that the book was better: for some yes. It is better because
they have a vivid imagination. It allows people to have the opportunity to try reading for
once and experience that same feeling readers get with noses in boo
In conclusion, the novel and movie are about greed in the world, how people take things
for granted, and how a destitute people reclaim their home. The movie is better because
there is more action and unimaginative people can still experience the same excitement of
the tale just like the imaginative people who read the book do. The author uses these
themes throughout the story line. However, the exciting action scenes and the dramatic
music in the background allows viewers to feel the emotions of the movie and its
Jehovah s Witness And Blood Transfusion
Jehovah s Witness and Blood Transfusion
Ruta Urbstaite
Framingham State University
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to identify the characteristics, values and beliefs of Jehovah
s Witness group. It will discuss their reasoning for refusal to accept blood transfusions.
The paper will elaborate on the best approach to offer appropriate care, advice and
education while treating patients with respect in regards to their religious beliefs. British
Journal of Nursing (2009) suggests that good, honest communication, without any
element of coercion or scare tactics, is the key in the management of Jehovah s Witness
patients.
A lot of people are unfamiliar with Jehovah s Witnesses (J.W.) population and their
religious believes. As stated in the Funk Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia, J.W.,
Christian sect, founded in 1872 in Pittsburgh, Pa., by the American clergyman Charles
Taze Russell, with congregations throughout the world. The legal governing body of J.
W. is the Watch Tower Bible (Funk Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia, 2014). After
researching the values and beliefs of J.W. and comparing them to Christianity, Professor
Watson found quite a few differences (Walston, R., 2004). One of the major
differentiating characteristics of J. W. is their refusal to accept bloodtransfusions because
it is considered to be a sin. Members of this sect refuse blood mainly based on the Book
of Acts that says to abstain from blood. They see blood as
Necrophilia Murder
Necrophilia and its Relation to Murder Necrophilia is defined as, recurrent sexually
arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving intercourse with dead bodies
(Colman, 2009) Necrophilia in the past has been something that presented itself as an
opportunity because of where someone worked. Professions that had people dealing
with corpses on a daily basis lead to a form of comfort around the bodies, then when a
person became curious they would start to experiment with the bodies. There are rumors
that this was popular with the embalmers of ancient Egypt and that it became necessary
that the bodies of highly born women were not embalmed immediately after deathbut
allowed to become slightly putrid, as a deterrent. (Blakemore, Jennett, 2001) Krafft Ebing

They are regular necrophilia, having sex with a person who has passed away. (Rathus,
2005) Necrophilic homicide, killing someone in order to have sex with his or her
corpse. (Rathus, 2005) Ted Bundy as an example has been described as an organized,
necrophilic murderer. (Moes, 1991) Lastly, Necrophilic fantasy is thinking about having
sex with a corpse but never acting on those thoughts. (Rathus, 2005) Necrophilic
fantasies have been considered therapeutically to result from childhood trauma.
Sometimes this can result from a humiliation, often from the mother, in regards to the
human body. (Lemma, 2013) It leads to again, the conclusion that the base of
necrophilia is to have a subject that is incapable of resistance or of rejection. Referring
back to Ted Bundy, his relationship with his mother and father was very poor. His father
was absent and his mother has been called cold. (Moes,

Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) and Rheumatic Heart Disease
(RHD)
Acute rheumatic fever (ARF) is defined by Mosby (2010) as a systemic inflammatory
disease which is enabled development with inadequate treatment of upper respiratory
tract infections of group A beta hemolytic streptococci. Repeated episodes of ARF can
cause autoimmune reactions within the heart which in turn inflicts damage upon the
heart muscle and heart valves, a condition termed as rheumatic heart disease (RHD)
(Mosby, 2010). Predominately ARF and RDH cases are found to effect people living in
developing countries. Steer and Carapetis (2009), have linked this issue with the lowered
socioeconomic conditions, household crowding, inadequate health care and poor
hygiene. In comparison both ARF and RHD have virtually been eliminated in... Show

Although the pathogenic mechanism of ARF and RHD is not yet fully understood, a
correlation between rheumatogenic GAS strains and inheritably liable hosts, results in
abnormal immune responses and the development of autoimmunity (Steer Carapetis,
2009). This is caused by antibody cross reactivity and more specifically a result of
molecular mimicry (Porth Matfin, 2009). In the usual situation of a streptococcus
infection, an immune response will be instigated involving B cell presentation of the
antigen, CD4 T cell differentiation, helper T cell formation and plasma B cell antibody
production. Through this process the antibodies are enabled to destruct the precise
protein structure of the GAS cell wall. However in this case, the targeted protein of the
bacterium has considerable similarity to antigens presented on the heart and kidney
tissues which causes autoimmune activity. Once the micro organisms have been
eradicated, the remaining antibodies mistake the identity of certain somatic cell resulting
in inflammation and the onset of ARF symptoms two to three weeks after the absence of
the infection (Porth Matfin, 2009).
Typical presentations of rheumatic fever (RF) include a history of sore throats, head
aches, fever, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, swollen glands and other common
signs and symptoms of streptococcal infection (Porth Matfin, 2009). The presentation of
RF can be acute, recurrent or chronic. The acute stage
Tripartite Model Of Attitudes
Baker (1992) describes attitudes as hypothetical constructs which are formed from
threefold components : Affective, behavioural and cognitive. This tripartite model is one
of the most cited models of attitudes. These components are usually connected, but recent
research in social psychology suggests that not all of them will necessarily be
represented in any given attitude and that they can not always be distinguished from one
another ( Bohner Wanke, 2002 ). The structure of attitudes is clearly described in the
following figure :

Where it all began
The Greeks and Romans were the first to use it. It was considered a luxury good in the
American Colonies. The White House was even painted with it. Lead based paint was a
hot item. It was durable, flexible and weather resistant. The use of white lead pigment
peaked in 1922. While the primary public health concerns were things like tuberculosis
and Spanish influenza, the extremely washable lead based paint seemed like a great
alternative to germ harboring wallpaper. Continuing into the 1950s, the U.S. government
overwhelmingly recommended the use of lead based paints.

The test took two days just to analyze a sample. This made the test unsuitable for larger
scale testing in communities. The technology that enabled community wide screenings
for blood lead levels became available in the mid 1960s. This allowed health officials to
depart from relying on painfully obvious symptoms such as pale skin, slurred speech,
loss of appetite and cognitive deficits.
The first ban on lead paint
The first restriction on the use of lead paint in the U.S. came about in 1951 when the
Baltimore Public Health Department issued a ban on its use as interior paint. Since then,
the restrictions on the use of lead paint have come a long way. In 1978, paint containing
more than .06% lead (in the dry product) was banned for residential use in the United
States.
Why so much focus on children?
If you look through the federal rules concerning lead paint, you will see that the lion s
share of defining standards are all about buildings inhabited by children. Aside from the
obvious need to protect our children, this is because children are more susceptible to
the effects of lead poisoning. For example, a child s cerebral membrane is still largely
permeable until the age of

sonatas. Sonata in D Major, K.491 is the second piece of the triptych, which was

James Baldwin s Remember This House By James Baldwin
James baldwin was an American novelist, essayist, playwright, poet, and social critic.
His essays were mostly of racial, sexual, and class distinctions in Western societies,
mostly in mid 20th century America. Some of Baldwin s essays are book length, for
instance The Fire Next Time (1963), No Name in the Street (1972), and The Devil Finds
Work (1976). An unfinished manuscript, Remember This House, was expanded upon and
adapted for cinema as the Academy Award nominated documentary film I Am Not Your
Negro. Writer and playwright James Baldwinwas born August 2, 1924, in Harlem, New
York. One of the 20th century s greatest writers, Baldwin broke new literary ground
with the exploration of racial and social issues in his many works. He was especially well
known for his essays on the black experience in America.
Baldwin was born to a young single mother, Emma Jones, at Harlem Hospital. She
reportedly never told him the name of his biological father. Jones married a Baptist
minister named David Baldwin when James was about three years old. Despite their
strained relationship, he followed in his stepfather s footsteps who he always referred
to as his father during his early teen years. He served as a youth minister in a Harlem
Pentecostal church from the ages of 14 to 16.
Baldwin developed a passion for reading at an early age, and demonstrated a gift for
writing during his school years. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx,
where he worked on the school s magazine
Grassroots Campaigning Via Social Media
Grassroots Campaigning via Social Media: Mobilization and Fundraising on Facebook
Abstract: While recent studies examine social media adoption by politicians, this study
follows in the path of Gainous and Wagner (2014) by examining the content of social
media communications from U.S. Senators and candidates for the Senate. We develop
a marketing based theory to explain which candidates are more likely to use social
media for mobilization and fundraising. Through content analysis of over 15,000
Facebook posts made by candidates for the U.S. Senate, our analysis provides insight
into the determinants of grassroots behavior on social media. We find that grassroots
campaigning more commonly among challengers and Tea Party candidates who lack the
name recognition and resources of more established candidates. Additionally, race
characteristics, such as competitiveness and the relative positioning of candidates,
influences social media posting strategies, with candidates in competitive races and
candidates trailing their opponent more actively engaging in online grassroots
campaigning. Social media platforms are among the most visited websites in the
United States, comprising three of the top 10 most frequented sites as of February
2015 (YouTube #2, Facebook #3, and Twitter #7). Given their widespread use among
the public, it is not surprising that nearly every member of Congress and would be
legislator has a social media presence. These politicians provide

Hieroglyphics are also written in columns. The oldest hieroglyphics is written on a
tomb called the Musaba Tomb. Hieroglyphics are practically just symbols. There is
about 700 to 800 symbols in the Egyptian hieroglyphics called glyphs. One symbol
could mean two different words. If you use one symbol and put it with another symbol,
you get a brand new word. There is no punctuation or any spacing in between each
symbol. Also there is absolutely no vowels in hieroglyphics. Just consents. Some
hieroglyphics represent sound. That would be called a Phonogram. Some glyphs
/symbols show what it s trying to say. That would be called an Ideogram. Glyphs that
represents a word or phrase is called a Logogram.Hieroglyphics are basically symbols or
Phonetic symbols. Alphabetic signs means it represents just one sound at a time. Syllabic
Signs means a combination of two or three consonants. Word Signs means pictures of
items that suppose to represent an item. Determinative means a picture of an item that

Who Is Hermia In A Midsummer Night s Dream

strong willed woman who wants to be free to marry her true love Lysander. She cannot
marry him, because her father, Egeus, is making her marry Demetrius. She has two
other choices, to either become a nun or die. She is not happy with his decision and
feels he is being unfair. Lysander and Hermiaplan to run away with each other to escape
her father and the Athenian law. Hermia s friend, Helena, may stop those plans though,
because she is in lovewith Demetrius. She hopes to win Demetrius back by foiling
Hermia s plans. We will hear more about this intriguing story in just a bit. Hermia will

Egeus says; As she is mine, I may dispose of her, which shall be either to this man or to
her death, according to the Athenian law (1.1.43 45). My father is saying that he can
decide who I shall marry. He has gotten this idea from the Athenian law and Theseus,
who is forcing Hippolyta to marry him. If he decides who I marry, that will make me
less likely to love them. If there is not love in a marriage then you should have no
marriage at all. When I marry someone, it will because I love them. It will not be
because my father has chosen that

  • 5. Range Of Motion Range of motion refers to the full potential movement of a joint. This movement typically comprises the range of flexion and extension along a particular axis. Limited range of motion is caused by a decline in a joints ability to move like it should. This is caused by pain, swelling, or stiffness in the jointarea. A goniometer is a tool that is used by therapists to measure the range of motion of a joint in a client s body. This is done by the therapist placing the center of the goniometer on the joint that is being evaluated. Recording a client s range of motion is a good way to keep track of what stage of the recovery process the client may be in. Many times a client will go to an occupational therapist, because they cannot complete their full range of motion without experiencing pain or fatigue. Through my research, I was surprised to see how many different types of tools there are available for testing range of motion and other therapy related tests. I learned a small amount about a Baseline Wrist Inclinometer, a Baseline AcuAngle Inclinometer, and a Baseline Scoliometer. Although not all of these tools measure the range of motion, they are still fun to learn about. I look forward to learning more hands on techniques throughout this
  • 6. Essay on Protest Songs Throughout the Vietnam War Throughout all the anti war protests and marches during the Vietnam War, it is interesting to note the changes in the music of that time. From the beginning of the war, where support and loyalty from Americans was present in songs, to the end of the war, where anger and distrust was evident in musical lyrics, American s opinion changed about the war. This change in opinion was easily recognized by the altering of musical lyrics about the war when Americans grew tired of the constant sending of U.S. troops to Vietnam. The growing dissatisfaction with the Vietnam War led to increasing levels of anger and hostility in the popular music of the time. In Where have all the Flowers Gone, the girl in the song could be considered a metaphor for society in general repeating cycles of history, such as war, without learning from them. When Bob Dylan sang Blowin in the Wind he alluded to the answer to war being right in front of us but the inability to grasp it: Dylan says, Yes, n how many deaths will it take till he knows/That too many people have died/The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind, (Lyrics.com). Tolkien s intent on including Beorn in the book is to allow the dwarves to be in a situation of which they can not decide their own fate; that it is up to Beorn to help them or not to help them. Beorn is portrayed as the antagonist in this particular scene in the movie because of the frightening music and the dull, dark lighting ,and the way his character looks. Jackson did this to, in a way, trick the viewers. In order to have this done he had to make Beorn act and look unpredictable. This was to create suspense about the film. Overall, he he had to look scarey but then reasonable. Those who disagree believe that the book was better: for some yes. It is better because they have a vivid imagination. It allows people to have the opportunity to try reading for once and experience that same feeling readers get with noses in boo In conclusion, the novel and movie are about greed in the world, how people take things for granted, and how a destitute people reclaim their home. Jehovah s Witness And Blood Transfusion Jehovah s Witness and Blood Transfusion Ruta Urbstaite Framingham State University Abstract The purpose of this paper is to identify the characteristics, values and beliefs of Jehovah s Witness group. It will discuss their reasoning for refusal to accept blood transfusions. The paper will elaborate on the best approach to offer appropriate care, advice and education while treating patients with respect in regards to their religious beliefs. British Journal of Nursing (2009) suggests that good, honest communication, without any element of coercion or scare tactics, is the key in the management of Jehovah s Witness patients. A lot of people are unfamiliar with Jehovah s Witnesses (J.W.) population and their religious believes. One of the major differentiating characteristics of J. W. is their refusal to accept bloodtransfusions because it is considered to be a sin. Members of this sect refuse blood mainly based on the Book of Acts that says to abstain from blood. They see blood as

Repeated episodes of ARF can cause autoimmune reactions within the heart which in turn inflicts damage upon the heart muscle and heart valves, a condition termed as rheumatic heart disease (RHD) (Mosby, 2010). Predominately ARF and RDH cases are found to effect people living in developing countries. Although the pathogenic mechanism of ARF and RHD is not yet fully understood, a correlation between rheumatogenic GAS strains and inheritably liable hosts, results in abnormal immune responses and the development of autoimmunity (Steer Carapetis, 2009). This is caused by antibody cross reactivity and more specifically a result of molecular mimicry (Porth Matfin, 2009). In the usual situation of a streptococcus infection, an immune response will be instigated involving B cell presentation of the antigen, CD4 T cell differentiation, helper T cell formation and plasma B cell antibody production. Through this process the antibodies are enabled to destruct the precise protein structure of the GAS cell wall. However in this case, the targeted protein of the bacterium has considerable similarity to antigens presented on the heart and kidney tissues which causes autoimmune activity. Once the micro organisms have been eradicated, the remaining antibodies mistake the identity of certain somatic cell resulting in inflammation and the onset of ARF symptoms two to three weeks after the absence of the infection (Porth Matfin, 2009). Typical presentations of rheumatic fever (RF) include a history of sore throats, head aches, fever, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, swollen glands and other common signs and symptoms of streptococcal infection (Porth Matfin, 2009).
