2. This part on final cut, is to help you around with
effects, so for example as you can see by clicking on
that all the effects you can add on the trailer will
come up. The reason why final cut provides effects is
that way we will be able to make the trailer
smoother. Especially as looking at our rough cut, we
only had 2 effects etc, and looking at the complete
version you can see the difference it made to have
them there, as it made the whole transaction of the
trailer much easier.
As you can see on my left window, this is where you
edit etc. At this point, we were changing something
to do with the scene on the right window. When
using Final Cut, it was very hard especially in
comparison to iMovie. This programme is more
professional but as we went on, it got easier as we
started getting used to it.
On final cut, you have two windows, as I have
mentioned before & the one on the right is the one
where you will see the transformations/edits you
have applied to your footage, so every time we had
applied something into out trailer, including sound
this was the one we had to look at, as the one on the
left is for editing.
This part I have circled in this image, is the part of
the tools on final cut, i.e. if we want to crop a part of
footage on our trailer, this is the way to do it. It’s
very straight forward, as if you just let the mouse
touch the images they will tell you what they are for,
and also some of the symbols look like the ones from
Photoshop, and as we have used Photoshop on AS
this comes a bit easier to us.
In this part of the picture this is where you are able
to see the scenes and also the sounds you have
added, and because of so you are able to play a
whole trailer as all the video footage we have used

is the line that makes the video stop and start. This
line is very important, as this helps us render and it’s
also important that this line is also at the start
especially if you want to do editing and add sound as
it will space/delete parts of your video if you don’t
place it exactly where you want it. So as we went
along with using Final Cut, we started being more
cautious.
3. With Photoshop , this time round it
was much easier than the first time
we used in AS. This time we knew
exactly how to do everything we
needed to, so it didn’t come as a
problem when using it. As you can see
we created an image so we could edit
it into our trailer. We found a
background on the internet that
suited us, and we also got an idea of
the ‘Black Swan’ Poster as they have
some of this design on their. So we
also followed codes and convention.
Once we had done this, we just had to
worry onto making sure we would put
this on our trailer and made sure it fit
properly. As we initially had one, but
it didn’t go as it didn’t look
professional enough.
4. As you can see my arrow is pointing to the part that says share. This
is where we make our sound come to an mp3 usage. & afterwards
you save this onto your desktop etc, and you just apply this to your
trailer on film cut and you just have to make it suitable to your
image. Film cut is also helpful as you can crop a lot of the sound and
this makes it easier into fitting your scene on your trailer.
This part in garage band, allows you to see the length of the
song and you can play the song to the part you like etc, and
then from that you can decide where you’d like to crop some of
the music out. Also this part on garage band allows you to cut,
add more sounds and you can listen to two sounds at the same
time, so you’d be able to see what it’d be like if you had two
sounds in your trailer. So this is very helpful, as its very straight
forward for what we were looking forward to do.
This part, is simple as this is just showing how long the
song/sound you are listening to is. This is helpful, as then you
will know exactly if it’s too long etc. and you’ll know straight
away that you have to crop it.
This part on Garage Band, is where it makes it simple for
you and helps you choose the sort of music you are
looking for quicker. This is also helpful as for example you
can pick two things at the same time, i.e ‘Dark’ & ‘Intense’.
This is helpful, as it will help you get what you’re looking
for straight away and won’t have to look through a great
deal of music you wouldn’t think its appropriate for your
trailer.
As you can see as I have mentioned previously, this is the list
where you have all the music selection, after having picked the
