Are you interested in rock concerts?
To begin with, I asked this question because I wanted to find out whether the
audience I am marketing towards is a social audience or a more domestic one.
I also wanted to find out if fronting competitions to win tickets to converts, or
articles about concerts would interest the audience.
From the chart I learned that at least 60%, maybe more, of my audience is
interested in concerts, whereas the rest really don’t seem to care. In my
opinion, nothing went wrong with this question as it was simply yes or no,
however I could have included a middle ground option such as ‘somewhat’ or
‘possibly’.
In terms of my target audience, the results represent them as a more social
rather than introverted type of audience which is excellent as it means they
would spread the magazine around to other people. It also means that they
are loyal to specific bands, as well as the genre, and are willing to pay money
to see their favourites. This means it is possible to draw in a larger audience by
advertising competitions to win free tickets.

What type of rock would you like to see?
To begin with, I asked this question because I wanted to find out whether the
audience would like to see larger, mainstream artists and bands or smaller,
independents. From the chart, I can see that, by very close proportions, the
audience prefers to see mainstream rock. I think, in retrospect, I should have
included a ‘I don’t mind’ option, as some may not mind and will simply be
excited either way. In terms of target audience, I can conclude that there is a
very balanced mix between mainstream and indie fans. This means that in the
magazine I can provide articles on both and have the same outcome, as the
results are rather negligible.

I asked this question because I wanted to see which article I should include the
most of to draw in a larger audience. I didn’t include a DIY box because I
wanted to keep the list short and simple, as there are only a few different
types of article. Evidently New songs was a popular subject, followed closely by
events. This tells me that the audience likes to be up to date with new music
and are also interested in hearing the artists live and being able to socialise
with other fans. This also means that ticket promotions/ competitions could be
put in place to attract more attention to the magazine. This paints the primary
audience as an accepting and enthusiastic group, stereotypical of the genre.
Nothing went wrong for this result as its exactly what I expected. Taking into
account this information, I would make the cover artists of my magazine look
stylish so that they look like a ban that does gigs as well as the usual albums.

What colour scheme would you prefer?
I asked this question because stereotypically, rock is stereotyped as being a
darker coloured genre. However, from the results, we can see that the
audience is spit between a dark and light colour scheme. This gives a lot of
leverage in terms of alternating and contrasting colour schemes. This result
was somewhat surprising as I did expect there to be a majority voting for
darker colours, however I suppose the audience has changed, providing a
representation of a modern and accepting audience. It may show an increase
in younger audience members who prefer attractive colours and
antidepressant colour schemes. These results tell me tat the audience is a
sociable and fun-loving group when mixed with previous results.

  • 2. Yes No Are you interested in Rock concerts? Are you interested in rock concerts? To begin with, I asked this question because I wanted to find out whether the audience I am marketing towards is a social audience or a more domestic one. I also wanted to find out if fronting competitions to win tickets to converts, or articles about concerts would interest the audience. From the chart I learned that at least 60%, maybe more, of my audience is interested in concerts, whereas the rest really don’t seem to care. In my opinion, nothing went wrong with this question as it was simply yes or no, however I could have included a middle ground option such as ‘somewhat’ or ‘possibly’. In terms of my target audience, the results represent them as a more social rather than introverted type of audience which is excellent as it means they would spread the magazine around to other people. It also means that they are loyal to specific bands, as well as the genre, and are willing to pay money to see their favourites. This means it is possible to draw in a larger audience by advertising competitions to win free tickets. Mainstream Indie What type of Rock would you like to see? What type of rock would you like to see? To begin with, I asked this question because I wanted to find out whether the audience would like to see larger, mainstream artists and bands or smaller, independents. From the chart, I can see that, by very close proportions, the audience prefers to see mainstream rock. I think, in retrospect, I should have included a ‘I don’t mind’ option, as some may not mind and will simply be excited either way. In terms of target audience, I can conclude that there is a very balanced mix between mainstream and indie fans. This means that in the magazine I can provide articles on both and have the same outcome, as the results are rather negligible.

I asked this question because I wanted to see which article I should include the most of to draw in a larger audience. I didn’t include a DIY box because I wanted to keep the list short and simple, as there are only a few different types of article. Evidently New songs was a popular subject, followed closely by events. This tells me that the audience likes to be up to date with new music and are also interested in hearing the artists live and being able to socialise with other fans. This also means that ticket promotions/ competitions could be put in place to attract more attention to the magazine. This paints the primary audience as an accepting and enthusiastic group, stereotypical of the genre. Nothing went wrong for this result as its exactly what I expected. Taking into account this information, I would make the cover artists of my magazine look stylish so that they look like a ban that does gigs as well as the usual albums. Brighter colours Darker colours What colour scheme would you prefer? What colour scheme would you prefer? I asked this question because stereotypically, rock is stereotyped as being a darker coloured genre. However, from the results, we can see that the audience is spit between a dark and light colour scheme. This gives a lot of leverage in terms of alternating and contrasting colour schemes. This result was somewhat surprising as I did expect there to be a majority voting for darker colours, however I suppose the audience has changed, providing a representation of a modern and accepting audience. It may show an increase in younger audience members who prefer attractive colours and antidepressant colour schemes. These results tell me tat the audience is a sociable and fun-loving group when mixed with previous results.
