I asked this question to find out
what genre of music people liked
best to get a better idea on what
to focus my magazine on. As you
can see from my results Rock got
picked the most, closely followed
by R’n’B. This would give me a
choice to focus my magazine on
one of the two, as majority of
the people chose those genres
I asked this question to get a
good idea of what magazines
people like to read. Kerrang was
most chosen, followed further
behind by vibe, then NME. This
help supports my idea on
following a rock or R’n’B
magazine .
This question was asked in order
to find out how much people
were willing to spend in
purchasing this magazine. As you
can see from the graph £2-£2.50
was the most picked, which
made me decide to sell my
magazine for £2.20, as its closely
between £2 and £2.50.
I asked what colour scheme
people like the sound of, to get a
better idea on what colours my
magazine should be. As you can
see from my results I got varied
results, even though ‘black,
white and red had the highest
vote by a bit, I've decided to mix
up the colours of magazine. This
would be between the top 3
colours that got the most votes
(‘black, white,red’
‘purple,red,black’ and ‘white
silver, blue’) probably one main
from each as they equally got
similar votes e.g. black, purple
and silver.
I asked this question to find out
what people mainly enjoy in a
magazine, so I'll get a better idea
what to mainly promote to the
readers of my magazine. I’ve
decided to use all of these for my
magazine, however I’ll make
celebrity gossip more noticeable
in the front cover than reviews
as celebrity got more views,
while reviews got the least.
I asked this question to find out,
how people preferred the front
image to be, this gave me a
better idea of how I should take
my front image. Mid shot got the
most votes, so I’ll take a mid shot
of my model during the
photoshoot.
I asked this question, so on the
front cover, I’ll be able to say
how long it takes to issue a
magazine. From the data I
collected I can see that weekly
was most selected.
I asked this question to find out
what people like when reading a
magazine. As you can see from
my results articles was most
picked, followed by freebies (far
behind). This would mean on my
front cover I would need to show
what's going to be inside the
magazine, to give people an
interest in what's going to be
inside, which will interest them
in reading the articles. Also, in
putting freebies in magazine, it
would interest people to see why
this product was given out in
magazine.
I have also decided to make a rock/indie magazine, due to the
data I collected and from my research. I've collected suitable
information and research for this genre, which gives me a much
clearer idea how I should set out my magazine.
Thanks to my questionnaires I found out (out of 25 people) what
magazines they preferred to read, the top three chosen were:
Kerrang, Vibe and Nme. This supports my decision , as rock/indie
type of magazines were most selected all together. Also, when I
was analysing the front cover of a magazine, one of the
magazines I analysed was Kerrang, which enabled me to see the
way they present their magazine and how its structured.
I’ve decided the target audience for my magazine, would be for
teens/young adults ranged from 14- 24. This is because the
questionnaires I handed out was mainly of people around that age
group, so based on my results they would be interested in my
magazine. Also, as young people like to constantly like to keep upto-date in music, and know what goes on with different
celebrity's, they are more likely to continually spend money on
magazines, to keep up with what's going on .
