This study aims to examine the prevalence of anemia among stunted children aged 4-10 years and its impact on physical fitness. It will assess the nutritional status of 60 boy and girl samples through anthropometric measurements and 24-hour dietary recalls, analyze hemoglobin levels, and evaluate the effect on physical fitness using a 1-mile run test on 30 stunted children. Results and conclusions will then be drawn from statistical analysis of the collected data.

age and either sex were enrolled. Test group was given
treatment of nutritional intervention therapy, providing 2.5 to
3gm Protein and 90-100 kcal /kg body Weight/day, for the
three months. Their Anthropometric, and Biochemical
parameters were measured before and after the nutritional
therapy. Before the nutritional intervention treatment P values
for Serum Total cholesterol, Triglyceride, Weight for height
%, were insignificant suggestive of similar baseline
characteristics at enrollment. After nutritional intervention
treatment P values for Serum Total cholesterol, Triglyceride,
Weight for height % were highly significant. The r value of
Pearson correlation coefficient for triglycerides in the study
group and its ANOVA model was very significant, showing
poor positive correlation with weight for height % while for
total cholesterol it was found to be insignificant. Depending on
results we conclude that it is the most effective food supplement
for the speedy recovery of the impaired lipid metabolism in
SAM children and the use of weight for height % as a
anthropometric marker for the pre-indication of fatty liver in

This study examined the association between compliance with physical activity guidelines and obesity rates in 607 Portuguese preschool children aged 4-6 years. Accelerometers were used to measure physical activity, which found over 90% of children met guidelines of 3 hours of total physical activity and 1 hour of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day. The prevalence of overweight and obesity was higher in girls than boys. Not meeting the 1 hour moderate to vigorous physical activity guideline per day was associated with higher obesity rates in girls, but no significant associations were found for boys. This suggests low daily moderate to vigorous physical activity may play a role in weight status for young girls.

Early screening for diabetes in pregnancy using fasting glucose tests prior to 20 weeks may be sufficient to diagnose gestational diabetes (GDM) in women with elevated BMI, according to a study from a London, Ontario clinic. Of the 27 women in the study with BMI over 35 kg/m2 who were tested before 20 weeks and at 28 weeks, 16 (59%) had abnormal glucose screens early on. Most women with GDM were able to control blood glucose with diet and nutritional counseling, and only 4 of the 16 women who screened positive required insulin. The study concludes that early diagnosis and management of GDM may help reduce the need for insulin in high-risk pregnancies.

A birth weight that is too small could signal the occurrence of growth disorders or even growth deficiency, as well as a variety of disorders of bodily functions, including impaired glucose tolerance, insulin resistance and hypertension. However, so far the relation between birth weight and aerobic capacity has not been studied.
Objective: To compare the aerobic capacity of physically active young adults with different birth weights.
Methods: 159 people born at full term of a single pregnancy (F: 45%, n = 71; M: n = 88), first-year students studying Physical Education. In all cases the subjects’ body composition was estimated, height and weight (BW) was measured, and the maximal oxygen uptake during exercises performed on an ergometer bicycle was established.
Results: the smallest birth body weight (BBW) was 2200 g; 3% of students (n = 5) were born with a BBW of less than 2500 g, and only 2% were born with BBW deficiency (<2><1> 2 s);
2. We suggest that when enrolling women for sports disciplines requiring their best aerobic capacity, birth weight should be taken into consideration, and based on the observations from the study it is furthermore suggested that a search for talent should be conducted among girls with BBW between 2300 and 3800 g.

Three months of aerobic exercise training reduces depressive symptoms in pregnant women. A randomized trial assigned 80 nulliparous pregnant women to either a 3-month supervised aerobic exercise program or their usual activities. The exercise program consisted of walking, aerobic exercise, stretching, and relaxation 3 times per week. After the intervention, women in the exercise group reported fewer depressive symptoms on a depression questionnaire compared to the control group. Supervised aerobic exercise during pregnancy may help reduce symptoms of depression.

Diet intake trends among pregnant women in rural area of rawalpindi, pakistan
Background: Adequate and healthy diet during pregnancy is essential for the health of both mother and new-born. This study was designed to know the health status of pregnant women and new-born by determining food taking habits of pregnant women. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted on pregnant women of 2nd and 3rd trimester in a rural area of district Rawalpindi. Food frequency questionnaire and 24 hours dietary recall methods were used to identify their food consumption practices. Analysis was done by SPSS, while Nutrisurvey software was used to check the presence of Vitamin A, C, and Iron in specific fruits or vegetables. Results: A total of 110 pregnant women participated in the study. Most of them were illiterate, had low household income, and unemployed. Intake of meal frequency was according to the standards of Institute of Medicine (IOM), but food group consumption was not according to the recommendations of the United State Department of Agriculture (USDA). Most participants 102 (93.2%) knew that food is important during pregnancy. However an increase in frequency intake was observed in 63 (57.3%); while, 19 (17.3%) reported no change in food intake practices. About 67 (61%) were taking some sort of dietary supplements. Avoidance of any food 24 (22%), intake of additional food 51 (46%), craving 86 (78%), and aversion to any sort of food 42 (38%) was also identified in the study sample. No significant association was found between food group consumption, food availability and accessibility. Dietary diversity score, calculated according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) guidelines, indicated that about half study participants were not consuming adequate food. Conclusion: Study results show that food intake practices of pregnant women in the study area were not satisfactory. The results suggest that pregnant women need nutrition counselling regarding food intake practices during pregnancy.

The researchers conducted anthropometric measurements on 3000 children from schools in Kerala, India. A birth weight that is too small could signal the occurrence of growth disorders or even growth deficiency, as well as a variety of disorders of bodily functions, including impaired glucose tolerance, insulin resistance and hypertension. However, so far the relation between birth weight and aerobic capacity has not been studied.
Objective: To compare the aerobic capacity of physically active young adults with different birth weights.
Methods: 159 people born at full term of a single pregnancy (F: 45%, n = 71; M: n = 88), first-year students studying Physical Education. In all cases the subjects’ body composition was estimated, height and weight (BW) was measured, and the maximal oxygen uptake during exercises performed on an ergometer bicycle was established.
Results: the smallest birth body weight (BBW) was 2200 g; 3% of students (n = 5) were born with a BBW of less than 2500 g, and only 2% were born with BBW deficiency (<2><1> 2 s);

We suggest that when enrolling women for sports disciplines requiring their best aerobic capacity, birth weight should be taken into consideration, and based on the observations from the study it is furthermore suggested that a search for talent should be conducted among girls with BBW between 2300 and 3800 g.

Three months of aerobic exercise training reduces depressive symptoms in pregnant women. A randomized trial assigned 80 nulliparous pregnant women to either a 3-month supervised aerobic exercise program or their usual activities. The exercise program consisted of walking, aerobic exercise, stretching, and relaxation 3 times per week. After the intervention, women in the exercise group reported fewer depressive symptoms on a depression questionnaire compared to the control group. Supervised aerobic exercise during pregnancy may help reduce symptoms of depression.

Diet intake trends among pregnant women in rural area of rawalpindi, pakistan
Background: Adequate and healthy diet during pregnancy is essential for the health of both mother and new-born. This study was designed to know the health status of pregnant women and new-born by determining food taking habits of pregnant women. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted on pregnant women of 2nd and 3rd trimester in a rural area of district Rawalpindi. Food frequency questionnaire and 24 hours dietary recall methods were used to identify their food consumption practices. Analysis was done by SPSS, while Nutrisurvey software was used to check the presence of Vitamin A, C, and Iron in specific fruits or vegetables. Results: A total of 110 pregnant women participated in the study. Most of them were illiterate, had low household income, and unemployed. Intake of meal frequency was according to the standards of Institute of Medicine (IOM), but food group consumption was not according to the recommendations of the United State Department of Agriculture (USDA). Most participants 102 (93.2%) knew that food is important during pregnancy. However an increase in frequency intake was observed in 63 (57.3%); while, 19 (17.3%) reported no change in food intake practices. About 67 (61%) were taking some sort of dietary supplements. Avoidance of any food 24 (22%), intake of additional food 51 (46%), craving 86 (78%), and aversion to any sort of food 42 (38%) was also identified in the study sample. No significant association was found between food group consumption, food availability and accessibility. Dietary diversity score, calculated according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) guidelines, indicated that about half study participants were not consuming adequate food. Conclusion: Study results show that food intake practices of pregnant women in the study area were not satisfactory. The results suggest that pregnant women need nutrition counselling regarding food intake practices during pregnancy.

The researchers conducted anthropometric measurements on 3000 children from schools in Kerala, India. Objectives: We provide estimates of caffeine intake in children in
absolute amounts (mg) and in relation to body weight (mg/kg) to
examine the association of caffeine consumption with sociodemo-
graphic factors and describe trends in caffeine intake in children in
the United States.
Design: We analyzed caffeine intake in 3280 children aged 2–19 y
who participated in a 24-h dietary recall as part of the NHANES,
which is a nationally representative survey of the US population
with a cross-sectional design, in 2009–2010. Trends over time be-
tween 2001 and 2010 were examined in 2–19-y-old children (n =
18,530). Analyses were conducted for all children and repeated for
caffeine consumers.
Results: In 2009–2010, 71% of US children consumed caffeine on
a given day. Median caffeine intakes for 2–5-, 6–11-, and 12–19-y
olds were 1.3, 4.5, and 13.6 mg, respectively, and 4.7, 9.1, and 40.6
mg, respectively, in caffeine consumers. Non-Hispanic black chil-
dren had lower caffeine intake than that of non-Hispanic white
counterparts. Caffeine intake correlated positively with age; this
association was independent of body weight. On a given day,
10% of 12–19-y-olds exceeded the suggested maximum caffeine
intake of 2.5 mg/kg by Health Canada. A significant linear trend
of decline in caffeine intake (in mg or mg/kg) was noted overall for
children aged 2–19 y during 2001–2010. Specifically, caffeine in-
take declined by 3.0 and 4.6 mg in 2–5- and 6–11-y-old caffeine
consumers, respectively; no change was noted in 12–19-y-olds.
Conclusion: A majority of US children including preschoolers con-
sumed caffeine. Caffeine intake was highest in 12–19-y-olds and

By enabling people to track their lifestyles, including activity level, sleeping, and diet, technology helps clinicians to treat patients suffering from "lifestyle diseases." However, despite its importance compared to other lifestyle factors, it is not easy to record food intake consistently. Although researchers have attempted to solve this problem, most have not considered its applicability in the clinical context. In this paper, we aim to (1) understand food-journaling practices and (2) explore the applicability of lifestyle data in the clinical context. By observing 20 patients who recorded data including food logs, steps, and sleeping time, we found that patients recorded their food logs diligently, as they were conscious of clinicians. Clinicians were surprised by the high adherence rate of journaling and tried to overlap food data with other data, such as steps, sleeping time, etc. This paper contributes by providing qualitative insights for designing applicable strategies utilizing lifestyle data in the clinical context.

Data was collected from 4 randomized controlled trials involving 137 subjects aged 65-85 years old. The studies found that whey protein supplementation increased muscle mass compared to a placebo, but results for muscle strength and fat mass were mixed. While whey protein supplementation may help increase muscle mass when combined with resistance training in older adults, its effects on muscle strength and fat loss were unclear based on the limited available studies.

1) They have deficient immune responses that make it harder to fight infections like bacteria and viruses that cause pneumonia.
2) When infections reach the lungs, the lack of a strong immune response allows bacteria to easily spread through the fluid-filled air spaces.
3) Several studies have found that the lack of nutrients like leptin due to severe malnutrition increases the risk of death from pneumonia through respiratory failure and shock.

Effect of Cinnamon,clove and bayleaf on Diabetes
This study evaluated the effects of consuming a mixture of cinnamon, clove, and bay leaf powder on blood glucose levels in 100 type 2 diabetes patients aged 30-70. The experimental group (n=33) consumed 6g per day for 6 weeks, while the control group (n=31) did not. Fasting blood sugar significantly decreased in the experimental group compared to controls. Both fasting and post-prandial blood sugars also significantly decreased within the experimental group pre- and post-intervention. Protein intake increased and fat intake decreased significantly in the experimental group as well. The study concluded the herbal mixture can help control blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes patients.
Nutritional status of elderly
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of a nutrition and lifestyle education program on the nutritional status of 150 elderly adults (ages 50-95 years) living in two old age homes in Mumbai, India. The study assessed nutritional status, nutrient intake, nutrition knowledge, and happiness levels before and after the 2-month education program. The results showed slight improvements in BMI, fruit and vegetable intake, physical activity, and nutrition knowledge after the intervention. However, no significant differences were found in energy, protein, fat, or carbohydrate intake between BMI groups before and after the program.
