applied in Macau Baptist College

2. In 1999
Macau Baptist College commenced to
connect to the internet and also
embedded the application of internet
in our high forms computer studies
curriculum. Besides, we also organized
many times of teacher training for our
teachers in order to facilitate their
teaching.

3. In 2002
Macau Baptist College moved to a new
campus located at our north district of
Macau. We established our first school-
wide intranet infrastructure. Our
students and teaching staff can connect
to each other and internet in every
classroom and every office terminal.

4. In 2007
Macau Baptist College was selected by the DSEJ
to be the first group of schools to initate the
three-year-IT plan. In this three-year-plan, we
improved our infrastructure and built up our
wireless network in a specific area of the school.
Besides, we also implemented our first intranet
environment. Our students, parents and teaching
staff were connected to this environment in
terms of teaching, learning and communicating ,
etc.

5. In 2008
Macau Baptist College started to implement the
smart board in our lower level classes of our
primary section. Until 2011, the smart boards
were implemented in each class of our primary
section. The smart board enlarged the
interaction between students and teacher.
However it also bring a lot of challenges to our
teachers in preparing the lesson plan. Thus, we
held a lot of professional trainings and activities
in order to encourage our teachers to adapt to
this culture.

6. In 2011
Macau Baptist College tried to use the
tablets to do the e-learning and taught
our students to write simple apps for
the tablets. Besides, we also developed
a school-base student conduct
application to help our class monitors
to perform their duty.

7. Vision of IT Development :
• Make IT connect to each part of our
daily life
• Build up IT culture
• Establish an e-learning community to
facilitate our learning and teaching
• IT becomes a basic ability of every
teacher
• IT becomes a study tool as important as
CHINESE, ENGLISH and Mathematics.

8. Challenges of IT Development :
• Reluctant to change of some
teachers
• Limited resources
• Parents ‘social and economical
status
• Conflict of the text book publisher
• Environment problem
