Forbidden Zones the Great War is a play based on World War One, and was
conceived and co directed by Leslie Ferris. I viewed the play on Saturday, April 1st,
in the Bowen Theatre inside the Drake Theatre Building. I was expecting a
somewhat dry play that focused primarily on the historical aspects of World War
One; the emphasis on the harshness of war, however, made the play more interesting
and engaging. The use of design elements such as the soldiers wearing similar
clothes on both sides and the focus on the emotions of individual people allowed the

Identity Development Model for LGBT Population
Cass (1979) introduced, what is still today, the most widely used identity
development model for the LGBT population. It was thought that gay identity
development would serve as the most significant moderator of the physiological
stress response. Findings from this study suggest that it affects the stressresponse, but
not to the degree that was expected. It is possible that a GayIdentity Questionnaire
(GIQ) will not accurately capture the gay identity development, or that the
homogeneity of the sample might not produce statistically significant results.
However, as one of the post hoc analyses self esteem could account for more of the
variance in the stress response. It is not to suggest that gay identity development is
not an important construct to understand, but perhaps it could be captured more
accurately. Mohr and Fassinger (2000) identified the many dimensions to the gay and
lesbian experience. It might be that this current study could support the difficulty in
quantitatively measuring one s global identity development, as many individuals

attractive destination. Utah Lake got 134,000 visits in 2017 which is pretty high
compared to other parks in Utah but it isn t that much compared the more visited

Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness is leaving a lasting impact on scholars due to its
range of interpretations. Early examinations left out the topic of racism because of
the time period; however, when Chinua Achebe highlights racism in Conrad s work
he starts the conversation. Whether Conrad is racist is intricate when contextualized
now or when it was written, late 1800s.
In Achebe s An Image of Africa, he discusses aspects of the Heart of Darknessthat
make it racist, concluding upon Conrad being a thoroughgoing racist. Achebe
defends his argument based on the white desire to view Africa as a foil to Europe.
He continues analyzing Conrad s antithesis between Europe and Africa, the River

as savage. He elaborates on the comparison referencing the meaning of Heart of

Introduction The purpose of this research study was to examine the relationship
between regular participation in the 21st Century Community Learning Centers
(CCLC) afterschool programs and academic achievement as determined by
changes in standardized test scores, and district benchmarks in Language Arts and
Mathematics. Specifically, this study examined whether there were differences in
rates of school attendance, measures of academic achievement, and number of
discipline referrals for students who attended the after school program regularly
for two years as compared to students who did not attend the after school program
regularly. A quasi experimental study was used for this research. This chapter
includes conclusions, summary of results, and action plan/recommendations. In the
final section of this chapter the researcher will provide prescriptive suggestions
and recommendations for future research. Summary of Results The data from 120
fourth grade and 120 fifth grade students were used in this study (Tables 1.1 and
1.2). All data were archived from school years 2010 2011 and 2011 2012 academic
school years. The required consents from parents, school district, and IRB of Kean
University in New Jersey were obtained. The results of this study indicated that the
21st CCLC afterschool programs proved to be significant in improving two of the
five target areas, math and language arts. Students in fourth grade who participated in
the 21st CCLC afterschool programs
