The Awakening Kate Chopin Essay
Writing an essay on "The Awakening" by Kate Chopin can be a challenging but rewarding task.
The novel delves into complex themes such as feminism, societal expectations, and individual
identity. Crafting an essay requires a deep understanding of the characters, plot intricacies, and
the historical context in which the novel was written.
One of the challenges is navigating the nuances of Edna Pontellier's character development
throughout the story. The protagonist's journey toward self-discovery and the exploration of her
desires demand careful analysis to capture the essence of her awakening. Additionally,
addressing the societal norms and expectations of the late 19th century in the context of the
novel requires thorough research.
Moreover, forming a coherent argument and thesis statement that does justice to the richness of
Chopin's work adds another layer of complexity. The essay must go beyond summarizing the
plot and explore the underlying messages and symbols embedded in the narrative. It necessitates
a critical examination of the author's intentions and the cultural backdrop against which the story
unfolds.
Balancing the academic aspect with a personal interpretation can be tricky. It's essential to avoid
veering too far into subjective analysis while still injecting a unique perspective into the essay.
Striking this balance ensures a well-rounded and insightful exploration of the novel.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on "The Awakening" by Kate Chopin involves navigating
through the intricacies of character development, societal norms, and the author's intent. It
requires a careful blend of analysis, historical understanding, and personal interpretation to create
a compelling and coherent piece of writing.

Low Carb Diet Persuasive Essay
BBC News reported last year that a low fat diet is better than cutting carbohydrates
for weight loss. But, Mail Online contradicted this by telling that low carb diet is the
best way to lose weight. Sounds confusing?
By tradition, weight loss diet plans were based on the impression of following a low
fat diet. But the modern times proposed a new idea of no or low carb diets, making
Atkins diet and others more popular.
There was a diet experiment that studied 19 obese males and females for six (6) days.
The 6 day low carb diet yielded more weight loss compared to low fat diet. However,
the low fat diet caused more fat loss. In general, losing more fat tissues has better
effects to your health. Technically, both the reports of BBC News and Mail Online
are right. They both hold truth regarding two of the most popular diets of today....

They followed the concept of combining regular physical activity with limited calorie
intake. For them, this is a sustainable method to lose weight without depending on
any tricks.
The confusion on which is the best weight loss diet is quite understandable. The low
carb diet can result to more weight loss on the whole. On the other hand, low fat diet
will lead to more fat loss.
The researchers debated that the fat loss is more significant to those who are obese.
This indicates that the weight loss obtained in the low carb diet was not extended to
fat loss. Even though this idea was excluded in that study, an individual can lose
weight through losses in water and muscle.
According to Susan Jebb, a health expert, the best kind of weight loss is the kind
of diet that you can stick to. Regardless of following low carb or low fat diet, the
bigger issue is how you can sustain the diet in the long run.
The human body gets its energy from two (2) main sources: by burning carbs and
fats. Both are controlled by the insulin. Popular diets would frequently recommend
cutting carbs or
Social and Economic Decline in the Western Roman Empire
Essay
By the fourth century, the Roman Empire had developed exponentially with
significant growth in cultural, social, and political activity. Leading up to the Battle
of Adrianople of 378 AD, the Empire suffered significant division and its once
uniform body began to splinter. After multiple attempts to unify the empire, the East
and the West grew increasingly independent. The battle proved a critical turning point
in the prominence of the West significantly foreshadowing its future. While the
declining reputation of Rome was apparent long before the battle itself, it was clear
that the Roman defeat at Adrianople significantly contributed to the Western Empire
s gradual disintegration as the dominance of the East thrived. Nearing the fourth...

As the two mingled, conflict arose and the Goths revolted. The conflict grew and
the forces met at Adrianople. The Roman army numbered 30,000 as the Germanic
tribes numbered nearly 60,000 (Barbarians). The Western emperor, Valens, acted
in haste attacking the Goths head on using little strategy. The Romans ill prepared
army was defeated, losing two thirds of its men and even its emperor. The Roman
loss at Adrianople proved very significant to the decline of the Western Empire.
Being such a powerful empire, the inconsistency of leadership left the social and
economic order in a state of jeopardy. ...in the course of fifty years some twenty
three emperors succeeded to the imperial throne and with so many emperors, there
was little sincere leadership for the success of the Empire (Barbarians 5). As Valens
rose to power, he quickly became unpopular in the eyes of the people. Going into the
battle, he held a firm desire for swift victory on the apparent weak opponent, and
hastily sent his army with inadequate equipment because of reductions in available
funds for military spending (History). The insufficient training of the army was also a
predominant reason for their loss in the battle. With the economic conditions of the
Empire in gradual decline, Valens did not provide his army with the necessary
equipment and instruction to be victorious in the Battle of Adrianople, eventually
resulting in a dreadful

Events That Shaped Me That I Am Today
Some of the things that have shaped me into the person that I m today are my
family, the people that I grow up around, some of the events In my life. There are
many events that have shaped me in the the person that I m today. Also the people
that I have grown up around has dramatically helped shape me into the person I am.
My familyis one of the main things that have helped shape me into the person I m
today. One of my early memories are of my mom working and going to school at the
same time to take care of eleven kid son her own. We also used two have a garden
and we would go there everyday to take care of the plants. But my mom started to
work all of the time so we were no longer aboul to go there so me and my sister made
a garden in the back yard so that when my mom had time we could still garden. That
is why one of my hobbies is gardening.
Some of the events that had help shape me into the person that I m today is of me
and my family always going places. Most of the time we would go to the beach or
hiking. I was told by my sisters that one time when we were walking up a hill that
my older sister corina had slipped and rolled into some mud and was covered from
head to toe in it. Another event that shaped me into the person that I m today is
when my sister passed away and most of my sister we re not on good terms with
her. So when she passed away my sisters had a lot of regrets about not being aboul to
apologise to her. That me that you should never treat someone badly
Coffee As A Good Quality Coffee Essay
Coffee has been a part of the daily lives of human beings. Whether it is fresh, black,
with cream, 3 in 1, or 5 in 1 coffee; people drink it. However, the production of coffee
is not simple. First, the coffee beans are grown and ripe, and then they are
harvested. These coffee beans need to be roasted in order to make a coffeebeverage.
Roasted coffee beans vary in colour and taste. But no matter the strength of the
coffee taste, coffee will always be part of our lives. There are many processes
before the coffee beans become the coffee that you drink. First, coffee seeds are
planted in rich soil in order to grow a good quality coffee plant. The seed will be
taken care of for a long period of time until it is fully grown and bears fruit. Once
the coffee plant bears fruit, the farmers wait until the fruit is ripe before they start
harvesting it. Green coffee beans are then produced. After all the coffee plants
have been ripped of their fruits, the farmers will roast all the coffee beans. After they
are all roasted in the desired level, coffee beans are grinded into coffee powder. Once
pulverized, the resulting raw material will then be packed and is ready to be sold.
Roasting coffee is basically to control the flavour that comes out of the beans.
Green unroasted coffee beans are smaller and much heavier than a roasted coffee
bean. Unroasted coffee bean can also last for years when stored properly and
carefully. However, roasted coffee beans are equally needed by people
Boyz N The Hood Sociology
Boyz N the Hood, directed by John Singleton is one in many films to showcase the
harsh reality of African Americans living in the hood . Hood films, as characterized
by an identifiable urban setting, such as New York or Los Angeles, and within a
modern time frame, use themes of hip hop culture to highlight the issues that plague
urban minority communities (Massood 145). Singleton, with Boyz N the Hood,
offers a commentary on the harsh experience of young, urban black males by
demonstrating the issues faced by these young men, namely lack of upward mobility
and cyclical and internal violence. One of the main issues highlighted in the film that
plague the communities of young, urban black men is a lack of upward mobility.

The film presents these well, by defining the hood in terms of the economic
destruction felt by South Central neighborhoods from the mid 1970s on, as places
brimming with poverty and unemployment (Massood 150). These areas faced huge
increases in unemployment, and because many of the lost jobs had required little to
no skills or education, many displaced workers were unable to move into other jobs,
and with the subsequent lack of adequate education needed to change employment
tracks and lack of mobility, urban communities, and especially that of young men,
would suffer greatly (Massood 150). The film portrays this by repeatedly showing
groups of young men on porches and street corners. One notable repetition is that of
Doughboy and his crew, since several times throughout the film they are depicted in
the same position. The four are sitting on the porch of the home of Doughboy s
mother and drinking 40 ounce malt liquor, and anytime they see a car they don t like,
they stand up and stare at the car. Groups of other young men are seen throughout the
film, such as at the beginning when they take Ricky s football, and in the
neighborhood in Compton. This re creation of similar scenes throughout the movie
helps to show the

The Lincoln s Inner Shield Process
While advances in welding technology have been frequent, arc welding products ,
in the main have hardly changed except for Lincoln s Inner shield process. The
most common Lincoln electrode, the Fleet weld 5P, has virtually been the same
since the 1930s. The most popular engine driven welder in the world , the Lincoln
SA 200, has been a gray colored assembly including a four cylinder Continental
engine and a 200 ampere direct current generator with two current control knobs
for at least three decades . A 1980 model, SA 200 even weighs almost the same as
the 1950 model and certainly is a little changed in appearance. All the of above
reflects the continued influence of the founder where he maintained his position as
an engineer and inventor and hence there has been little or diversion from the
founder s idea of making welding products. This can also be alluded from the fact
that the 1980 SA 200 almost weighs the same like the 1950 model which further ,
shows that there has been little change to the materials being used to manufacture this
welder but hence , only cost effective ways of manufacturing are at play.Consistence
was the main goal of the company. Even after his death, the present workforce still
highly rate their founder when it comes to depend on the model which was invented a
long time ago hence, the continuation and maintenance of the brand instead. Lincoln
saw the customer s needs as the raison d etre for every company, and hence,
Liberalism and Its Key Values
In the study of Liberalism and its key values, those of Democracy and Social
Justice have often been posited as providing the world with an ideology and
political philosophy which can guarantee peace between its adherents. The
Democratic Peace has been formulated in order to illustrate a world in which
democratic states do not engage in war between each oth er as fellow democrats live
with a stable and historically unique form of government. This essay shall explore
whether it is acceptable that one can portray liberal democracyin par ticular as
universally applicable in a standard form. This is a central tenet of the democratic
peace theory and as such requires questioning to determine whether or not liberalism
is indeed a force peace in world politics. Furthermore, it shall look at many pieces
of postcolonial International Relations (IR) theory, engage with democratic peace
theory directly, as well as some contemporary examples of liberal actions in order
to assess the peaceful state, thus far, of liberalism. It is my argument that although
the democratic peace theory does portray the best intentions of those Liberal States
who actively engage in world politics, it is not, howev er, accurate in portraying
liberalism as a whole as peaceful. Instead by accepting and discuss ing the peace
between liberal nations, it fails to highlight and in fact sometimes seeks to hide the
more aggressive and warring actions of liberals against those from outside of the para
digm.

The Demand Theory And Theories Of Corruption
Theories of corruption generally fall under two classifications i.e. demand theories
and supply theories. Demand theory models of corruption include two approaches:
resource allocation models and the principal agent relationship models (Jain,
1998). Resource allocation models evaluate the costs of the allocation of resources
to bribe seeking activities. The model is based on the principle that bribe seeking
is one aspect of any economic activity and thus part of a firm s resources are
devoted to this pursuit (Krueger, 1974). In a competitive system, bribe seeking
chances are produced either by agents over government policy or by underlying
societal features (Mauro, 1995).
Principal agent models of corruption postulate that the misuse of power by
individuals/organisations, which is driven by self interest (Shleifer Vishniv, 1993).
The fundamental dilemma comes from that agents are entrusted with authority on
behalf on the principal (citizens). In a democratic state, the elected officials and

Corruption is discussed in fields as diverse as economics, political science,
anthropology, sociology, history, organization studies, international business,
business ethics, psychology, and philosophy. According to Caiden (2001, 19),
anthropologists found that public officials were distinguished from the rest of the
population for their unique role in providing services and goods to the rest of the
population. These public officials are expected to possess professional integrity, and
consequently uphold the public interest. Therefore, the public officials also
contribute to good governance. Corruption is barely a problem that is exclusive to
developing countries (Klitgaard, 1998:3). Additionally, according to various
researches, (Transparency International, 2011 and Kligaard 1998) corruption is
mostly rampart in Africa.
The New York Times, By Jon M. Gibson
Introduction Kyle Cooper is one of the most prominent and influential designers of
both the 20th and 21st centuries. As Jon M. Gibson states, his title sequences have,
...brought attention to an art form that has long been considered an afterthought... .
With more than 150 title sequences, five Emmy nominations, the Title of Honorary
Royal Designer and the winner of the AIGA medal in 2014, Cooper has become a
huge affect with title designers in the 21st century. His creation of the title sequence
for Se7en (1995) is what brought the limelight to Cooper, after having such a
success with both the public and filmmakers all around the world. The New York
Times went so far as to say that this specific title sequence was one of the most
important design innovations of the 1990s. Influenced by the works of Pablo Ferro,
Saul Bass, Stephen Frankfurt and Maurice Binder, Cooper s style and designs
changed the way in which title sequences for movies, series and video games are
done nowadays, by evoking a revival in the importance of a meaningful and well
designed title; something that had been gradually lost in the previous decades.
Pre Se7en Era As a child, Cooper was highly influenced by American horror films
and horror comic books, which would leave him with an idea of ...evil as an active,
supernatural force in the world. A motif that is clearly seen in his work, as his
sequences usually include depictions of evil or have dark undertones, like in
Arlington Road (1999), where Cooper

SOCIETY OF ORESUND BRIDGE (WONG MING MING)
Relationship between Two Countries
The Oresund Bridge was agreed to build after the Danish and Swedish governments
signed the final agreement of building Oresund Bridge in year 1991. The
considerations of the impact of Oresund Bridge were being made such as using this
link to promote commuting and the exchange of culture between Copenhagen in
Denmark and Malmo in Sweden (Oresundsbro Konsortiet 2008, p. 2). Engineers
believed that culture exchange between Sweden and Denmark can make their
relationship even closer by knowing each other s culture.
For the culture of Sweden, Swedes normally are egalitarian, which means that Swedes
are the person who supports the principle of equality for all people (Oxford Advanced
Learner s Dictionary 2014). Swedes are humble and cannot accept boasting (Sweden
language, culture, customs and etiquette 2013). Swedes often give thanks and their
behaviours are strongly balanced towards moderation. Swedes work hard but not too
hard and they will go enjoy themselves without participating in something which is
extreme. Also, due to the strong egalitarianism, competition is not encouraged in
Sweden.
Meanwhile in Denmark, the Danes are being called as the world s happiest people.
Danes are always satisfied with the way they live (Danish culture and lifestyle 2013).
Danes are also generous because they are much aware of their high living standard.

Beautiful and sad. A narrative from a father to a son. Initially I thought it was tragic
and heartbreaking. It is a true story and a real reflection on the default of being
human. If for loss of compassion for this side of humanity, I would say in an
objective and extremely distant point of view that it is pathetic.
It is good that I am reading it in my 20s, being a daughter, single and childless.
I truly get the father s anguish and grief. The poems express oscillating feelings that
explore the dimensions of extent of strong human emotion. At the same time I
understand the son s rebelliousness to a parent who insists that he (the father) listens
yet strongly occurs as imposing. Unfortunately, the love desperately being
communicated does not go across. The story revolved in the father s thoughts, dreams
and memories without an actual dialogue: an attempt to truly listen and get his son.
The father s hopes to someday laugh at these poems with his son is a very real
illusion that humans live in by default. Hopes and wishes become so real a reality
in the fantasy world of our minds that who we become and act according to what is
taking place is regrettably misaligned to the future that we say we want to

Social Media s Impact On Business
Long before social media, a business reputation and advertisement that was based
on word of mouth and newspapers. Although, now that the times have changed,
and we live in a world based off social media. Social media opens the door to a lot
of professional, ethical behavior and business ratings and ponders negative impact
towards a business. Nearly 73% of the populations in the United States have had a
social media profile with the leading uses of Twitter, Facebook or other various
forms of social media. That percentage equals out to be an approximate of 327
million mobile users in the United States that has access to internet via cell phones
and tablets. We now live in a world that lives based on technology at the touch of a
finger or a voice command. Now this is very beneficial as well as non beneficial in
the same way towards many businesses. The use of technology has been beyond
beneficial for businesses across the world. Consumers are able to access almost
every business around the world by either a social media site, website, or apps.
Social media allows businesses to connect personally with their customers. The touch
of a button, you can see what kind of products a business has, prices, their menu
items, order items, and ratings of their business.
Now, that is where the issues of social media come into play. Negative things are
said, regardless of the facts of it being true or not, this tends to spark tension,
professional ethics, and questionable
Battle Of The Sexes Analysis
The Battle of the Sexes Sherlock Holmes is the fundamental character of the
wrongdoing/puzzle novel and scene arrangement. Holmes demonstrates the way his
observational aptitudes help him to prevail as an investigator. Holmes is considered
to demonstrate no feeling along these lines, directing him as the machine . Holmes
demonstrates a ton of routes on how he makes sense of the cases he researches. The
viewer can see the connection amongst Adler and Holmes indicates the way they tend
to each other. In the film Holmes demonstrates his character is more observational
than in the story. Holmes communicates his observational abilities and apathetic traits
diversely in A Scandal in Bohemiathan in A Scandal in Belgravia .
The short story A Scandal in Bohemia concentrates on how Irene Adlerbreaks
Sherlock Holmes down. Sherlock Holmes is known for being the most brilliant
individual in the room. Holmes never needs to stress over somebody out hurting
him, until the point when he meets the woman . Everybody knows Holmes to be
the man that knows how to explain any case that is tossed at him, aside from in
this one. In the story, Holmes is procured to make sense of where Adler has the
critical photos covered up. Holmes goes to discover Adler, however discovers she
has been away for some time. Adler leaves a snapshot and letter for Holmes.
Knowing Holmes as the best criminologist ever, he has never been out smarted by
anybody. As Adler being a lady Holmes never anticipated that her mind would have
the capacity to deceive him. Men are customized uniquely in contrast to ladies
which influences Holmes self image to diminish by being incited by a lady, the
best plans of Mr. Sherlock Holmes were beaten by a woman s wit (Doyle; 26).
Holmes is tested by affliction with Adler deceiving him, which then gets him to
crumble. Perusers can tell that Holmes feels like he lost his heart or soul. Watson
says, And when he speaks of Irene Adler, or when he refers to her photograph, it is
always under the honourable title of the woman (26). After him coming up short,
Holmes still alludes to her as the woman rather than Irene Adler. Holmes can t even
mention Alders name which the reader can tell how she has influenced his

Case Study On Bajaj Pressure Cookers
Bajaj realized that there are gaps in the pressure cooker category. So it decided to
conduct market research for analyzing the gaps in the pressure cooker category.
The project required speaking to the retailers asking them why the customers are not
preferring the Bajaj Pressure Cookers and what are they expecting. And suggesting
some new ideas or initiatives which can improve the sales of Bajaj pressure cookers.
For this purpose the retailers were interviewed. Visits were made to retailing stores
in west Nagpur area. Lastly, an analysis of the competitors like Prestige and Hawkins
was also carried out to find out about their activities in the retail direction.
From the findings it was clear that the retailers and customers are no so happy ...

Matching is used to find competitive advantages by matching the strengths to
opportunities. Converting is to apply conversion strategies to convert weaknesses or
threats into strengths or opportunities. An example of conversion strategy is to find
new markets. If the threats or weaknesses cannot be converted a company should try
to minimize or avoid them.
Internal and external factors
The aim of any SWOT analysis is to identify the key internal and external factors that
are important to achieving the objective. These come from within the company s
unique value chain. SWOT analysis groups key pieces of information into two main
categories:
1.Internal factors
The strengths and weaknesses internal to the organization.

General Mills
The company can trace its history to the Minneapolis Milling Company, an
organization founded in 1856 by Illinois Congressman Robert Smith which leased
power rights to mills operating along Saint Anthony Falls on the Mississippi River.
Cadwallader C. Washburn acquired the company shortly after its founding and hired
his brother, William D. Washburn to assist in the company s development. In 1866,
the Washburns got into the business themselves, building the Washburn B Mill at the
falls. At the time, the building was considered to be so large and output so vast that
it could not possibly sustain itself. However, the company succeeded, and in 1874 he
built the even bigger Washburn A Mill.

Multitasking Affects Student Success
Multitasking In the Internet Age: How Multitasking Affects Student Success
The growth and subsequent expansion of communication technology have resulted to
a tendency of doing more than one activity at a time creating a generation of students
who think that they are using more time in effective ways through the indulgence into
more than one tasks at the same time or simultaneously. Multitasking is used to refer
to the concurrent procession of more than one tasks (preferably more than two)
through a process of switching contexts. However, researcher in the neurosurgeon
field have come with contrasting findings into how multitasking in class impacts on
the performance of students (Gasser, Urs, Palfrey, 2009). Majority of these findings

Imagining the scenario of a student who is chatting during a lecture implies that the
brain concentrating in the lecture is 10 points less than their normal IQ. This is
actually a case of a misplaced priority in the side of the student making them gain
even less from both activities.
David Silverman (2010) in his article In Defense of Multitasking , offers a number of
positives from the practice of multitasking. He begins by mentioning that it cannot be
denied that concentrating on a single task often produces high quality in that
particular task. He mentions that multitasking makes all the tasks to slow down but
argues that some individuals can actually multitask and if they can then the better
because they deliver more than one result in significantly almost the same time that

Human Embryos
Introduction The concept of altering human genomic DNA has been around for
decades, with pioneering studies in the late eighties illustrating the insertion of
homologous DNA sequences at defined locations within mammalian chromosomes
(Smithies et al., 1985). Only now, are these rudimentary techniques being replaced
with rapid, inexpensive, and more efficient tools for genomeediting (Zhang et al.,
2014). Tools like CRISPR/ Cas9, which, were once a bacterial defense mechanism
but have since been adapted to create a system of targeted genemodifications (Jinek et
al., 2012). Although a lot of ethical questions remain, CRISPR/ Cas9 has without a
doubt, become a staple in the field of genome editing. International debates on the

However, there are important limitations to this approach, as data suggests more
than two hundred and twenty million spontaneous abortions occur worldwide each
year (Ord, 2008). To assume that embryos were in fact persons would be to assume
that the greatest death toll of our generation is a result of natural embryo death
(Douglas et al., 2009) Additionally, with each egg representing a valuable source of
hESCs, we must not be oblivious to statistics that show approximately 1.7 million
embryos created for IVF treatments, have been thrown away without being used
(Daily Mail, 2012). Opponents may argue that these embryos are clinically useless
due to imperfections, however, research suggests that even these poor quality
embryos have the potential to generate stem cell lines (Lerou et al., 2008). Never
has a single tool been this disruptive to the field of biology, with many opponents of
CRISPR/ Cas9 in fear that, any further developments will promote non therapeutic
treatments. This has lead some scientists to argue that a moratorium should be placed
on all future studies, as it is both dangerous and ethically unacceptable (Lanphier et
al., 2015). But this reasoning is flawed, as there is no accurate method to judge
technologies affects on future generations. Take for example the GPS, initially
developed for the United States Military in 1973, the technology wasn t

Simplicity
Simplistic living to me means to live a life free of frivolous details. Wikipedia
defines simplicity as the state or quality of being simple. My husband and I have
considered adopting a more simplistic style of living for a few years now, we are
more motivated now to commit to this change. We have reached a new level of
maturity discovering that less is more. I have learned that simplicity is a virtue
and vital to the Quaker faith. Robert L. Smith, author of A Quaker Book of
Wisdom wrote, A person who is preoccupied with materialistic desires is ill
prepared to sit in silence with other worshippers and listen for the still small voice
of God. The Bible confirms this statement, mentioning that God s voice as quiet as
a gentle whisper. I also believe that stillness is necessary when seeking the voice of
God. When you are living a busy lifestyle surrounded by material possessions, it
becomes difficult to hear what God is saying consequently making it easier to grow
distant in your relationship with Him. According to Smith, the fundamental of
simplicity includes asking, What do I need? He later adds that, Acquiring too much
stuff can get in the way of happiness that can obscure what is best in us, leading to
boredom and emptiness, (Quaker Book of Wisdom, Smith).
With two children, I would agree that an access amount of toys, clothes and other

The Betrays Of Betrayals In William Shakespeare s Julius...
While reading the story of Julius Caesar (William Shakespeare) there is many lies
and many lairs. So much betrayal is going around it is no surprise when
Shakespeare threw another one at us by using Brutus to kill off Caesar. One more
betrayal to top it off. Although, some people think differently and believe that
Brutus was a patriot. Some believe that even though Brutus committed a crime, he
was trying to do the right thing. He wanted to end Caesars reign for the good of
Rome and for the good people of Rome. This is in fact true. Brutus wanted to
protect Rome. He believed that in his heart, if something was not done, Rome
would not be Rome much longer. However, the way he went about it was wrong.
Though his heart was in the right place, his head was not. After all, the road to hell
is paved with good intentions. Had it been anyone else there is no doubt that they
would have been killed but Brutus was the most noble man in Rome thus giving
him a chance to redeem himself by winning the peoples favor. After killing Caesar,
he was to give a speech. In this speech, he was to give an explanation as to why he
killed Caesar. Surprisingly a simple thing to do since he committed treason. When
Brutus spoke, the romans agreed with what he was saying. However, they soon
changed their minds when Anthony was asked to speak as well. In his speech, he
used logic and emotions to reach the audience and speak to them. It is because of this
that he gained the peoples favor. One of the main
Factors That V Leiden Thrombophilia
Factor V Leiden Thrombophilia Thrombophilia is a disorder that contains several
genetic components that can cause an individual to form arterial and venous
thrombi more readily. Many serious medical complications can result from
thrombus formations that are often times fatal. In fact, a venous thromboembolism
(VTE) is relatively common and a thrombosis of the deep veins of the legs or
pelvis can lead to morbidity and mortality. Small portions of this patient population
even develop pulmonary emboli (PE), which can be fatal. This major medical
problem affects 1 in 1,000 persons per year and approximately 1 in 130 Americans
younger than age 65 develop a VTE (Crow, 2003; Kujovich, 2011). Interestingly
enough, inherited thrombophilia can be identified in half of the patients presenting
with VTE (Kujovich, 2011). In 1993, European investigators Dahlback and his
colleagues recognized a new mechanism for familial thrombophilia. Their research
was initiated in order to investigate the cause for a number of young adults that
presented with VTE, who had a family history of thrombosis but no detectable
genetic link. As a result, a previously unrecognized mechanism associated with
activated protein C resistance (APCR) was found Factor V Leiden mutation (Crow,
2003). Factor V Leiden is considered the single most common cause of hereditary
thrombophilia and is often linked to thrombosis due to hereditary hypercoagulability.
Studies have indicated that factor V Leiden is a
Theu.s. Constitution And The Constitution
The U.S Constitution is one of the most, if not the most, important documents ever
written in political history. The constitution established America s national
government and provided the fundamental framework for the present and future legal
parameters by which the american people would be governed by. The Constitution
was officially signed September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia during a constitutional
convention. In order for the constitution to actually be an official document, it had to
have been ratified meaning that at least nine of the thirteen states present had to
approve this document. It was easy for the first seven voters to make their decisions
who were pro constitution (federalists), but nevertheless, there were people, anti
federalists, who did not support the constitution. Although they did not want the
Articles of Confederationin place, neither did they want to ratify the constitution
because they opposed of having a strong central government. The ratification of the
constitution changed the face of the United Statesand set forth a model for future
documents to come. Federalists fought very hard against their opposing party. Why
was it so important to the federalist to get this constitution ratified? The constitution
not only meant something to the federalists, but without this ratification, it could
have led to secession, and this ratification was needed to make improvements to the
government. What exactly did the constitution mean for the federalists? The
Anime And Manga Of Anime
Anime and Manga
According to Stewart (2013), Japanese culture is becoming increasingly popular
within Western society , particularly anime, cosplay and games. In the comic world
of Japan, comic books are called manga, and anime means that animation cartoon.
Manga is a visual narrative to gratify readers through the capability of its plot and
characters, and many animation, movie and computer game stories are from manga.
In the academic and art fields, fan culture, the majority of visual images, fictional
characters plots and signs are the most attractive features in anime and manga. This
subculture is popular among teenagers and young adults and also creates the unique
fandom activity cosplay (Chen, 2007).
What is Cosplay
Cosplay or kosupure (Japanese) is a combination words which means costume and
play or role play (Rahman et al., 2012; Peirson Smith, 2013; Winge, 2006). In the
academic and popular culture field, the origin of cosplay is from Japan, that is
similar to western masquerade (Chen, 2007). It is a performance art that fans
dressing up and performing the roles as from comic books, movies or anime (Gn,
2011; Chen, 2007). These enthusiasts or fans of role play are called cosplayers or
cosers (Ziran, 2006). Through costume, they can transform with the characters they
want to become. For them, costume therefore is a kind of magical instrument
(Peirson Smith, 2013). In the comic convention, it not only can see the comics,
anime, fictions or games, but also often
History of the Eucharist
History of the Eucharist The Sacrament of Eucharist is the most frequently received
Sacraments in the Catholic Church. The matter in the Sacrament of Eucharist is the
bread and wine, which changes into the body and blood of Jesus Christ. The
Sacrament of Eucharist is dated in the Bible as far back to the Old Testament,
indirectly as the Israelites flee from Egypt in the desert, and God gives them manna to
eat. This happens multiple times while the Israelites are searching for the Promised
Land. The most important part of the Bible when the Eucharistis received, is when
Jesus and the Apostles are at the Last Supper. Through the Sacrament of Eucharist,
Jesus breaks the bread and passes it around to his apostles. Then, Jesus says that
one of them will betray him, and whoever dips the bread in the wine at the same
time he does will be the one who will betray him. As we know Judas was the one
who betrayed him, and must have been the one to dip the bread in the wine at the
same time as Jesus. Even though all the Gospel writers wrote about Jesus Matthew,
Mark, and Luke wrote about the meal Jesus had with his Apostles the night before his
death, not John. Between the Resurrection of Jesus, and the conversion of the
Emperor Constantine to Christianity. During this period of time in the Roman
Empire, people who were Christians, were persecuted in public, just because of their

Transportation Equipment
This industry is responsible for 22% of sales and 22% of profits for
1995. The nature of this group is cyclical. Bombardier manufactures subway cars,
high speed trains, passenger cars, and a variety of other equipment, which is primarily
sold in the North American and European markets. Bombardier has made many
acquisitions in this industry that are usually acquired at a loss.
These acquisitions along with the huge loss in the Eurotunnel contract has made it
difficult for Bombardier to show it s real profitability in this industry.
Revenues have increased by 20% since 1994. Bombardier has 28% and 12% of the
North American and European markets respectfully. The outlook for expansion in the
North American market is encouraging with the contract with Am Trac to supply
high speed trains and equipment for use in the United States. Recent developments in
Mexico has led to an increase in demand for railway cars in that
country.
What Is Meant by the Kingdom of God Essay
Outline what Jesus must have meant when he used the term: Kingdom of God . The
term Kingdom of God (or as is otherwise referred to as Kingdom of Heaven in
Matthew s Gospel) is mentioned throughout the Four Gospels. Over the centuries
many scholars have reached the same conclusion that the central theme of Jesus
message regards the Kingdom of God. But what did Jesus mean by this term? This
essay aims to discuss the meaning of the term Kingdom of God and what Jesus must
have meant by this.

Consequently it is fair to say that to the Jewish people of Jesus time the term
Kingdom of God was interpreted as a time when God s rule would be restored
through a descendant of David and things would be good again. Macquarrie sums
their view precisely when he states, The coming of the Kingdom would mean the
judgement of the existing order, the overthrow of all evil and demonic powers and a
new order in which God s perfect reign would be manifested.
In contrast Pope Benedict XVI s book, Jesus of Nazareth, stated that the Kingdom of
God is ... an inner disposition characterised in daily behaviour by adopting the
mind and outlook of Christ... A teacher of the law once asked Jesus, Which
commandment is the most important? He deemed loving God and your neighbour
as the two most important. So here it is clear that Jesus is talking about love as a
major theme in personal conduct a theme which is exemplified by biblical stories
of Jesus own behaviour. Jesus demonstrated his love for others on many occasions
and in many different ways. He spoke to people who were outcasts or disliked such
as the woman at the well and Zacchaeus. He met people s physical needs through
some of his
Theme Of Christian Justice In The Play Measure For
Measure
The title Measure for Measure gives us a glimpse into what resonates in this play
the exchange or trade of one for another. On the surface, the play seems to be
accepting this kind of contractual justice , which is seen as conventional
throughout the play. However, beneath the surface, as pointed out by Manderson J,
there is [...] a kind of contempt for the idea of contract in Measure for Measure.
Shakespeare is trying to point out that strictly abiding to contracts or rules is not the
way to uphold justice. The flaws in the idea of contract become the barrier to
achieve justice. Shakespeare s ideas about justice help lawyers understand the
interplay between mercy and justice . Shakespeare s ideal Christian Justice is
presented in the play by emphasizing on the indispensability of one s moral
conscience and mercy. This paper will discuss Christian Justice presented in the play

The contract made between rulers and citizens, it is called social contract . The
authority to govern, social contract theorists contend, is ceded by free and equal
individuals who accept the arrangements as being conducive to the pursuit of the

Leviathan, argues that the only way to secure peace, security and order is for
everyone by covenant to relinquish their natural rights and submit to the authority of
a coercive power, which through the threat of punishment, will ensure that promises
are kept and rules obeyed. This [social] contract is constituted by two distinguishable
contracts. First, [the people] must agree to establish society by collectively and

Colonies In The Spanish Colonies
Colonies By Kira H.
It is 1550, and there are a bunch of Spanish colonists in New Spain. Spanish wanted
workers so, they made American Indians slaves to help on their land. By 1607
colonists were heading to Virginia to go to Jamestown. Near a river they called,
James River, they built a settlement and they called it,Jamestown. There were many
people that took a big role back then. Like John Smith. John Smith was an explorer,
soldier, and writer too!
Slavery
In 1550, there were a bunch of Spanish colonists that came to New Spain. With the
discovery from gold, and silver, a bunch of colonists came to New Spain hoping to
get rich. Spanish wanted more workers to help them on their land. They made
American Indians slaves, to help grow crops, and mine. A lot of the slaves died from
overwork on slavery, and hunger. Some even died from diseases that settlers brought.
Colonists were concerned of the way the slaves were being treated. A colonist
named, Bartolome De Las Casas stood up for the American Indians from being
treated badly. More Indians died, so the Spanish wanted more and more workers.
The Spanish began to make Africans slaves in New Spain. The African slaves were

Of Cannibals And Thomas More s Utopia And Michel De
Montaigne
An ideal society is a model that strives to function the most efficiently. Both
Thomas More s Utopia and Michel de Montaigne s Of Cannibals state the
fundamentals of specific ideal societies. The differences in these perfect societies
are driven by the principles they are based upon. More s society is based off
cultural order while Montaigne s is based on natural order. The two foundations cause
geographic, social, and political differences.
Geographic differences include physical and human characteristics of a society. This
includes where the civilization is located, and the specific features of each
landscape. In Of Cannibals , the situation of their country is along the sea shore,
enclosed on the other side towards the land, with great and high mountains, having
about a hundred leagues in breadth between. (Montaigne 3). Similarly, Utopia s
ideal society is also by the ocean but it is a crescent island, that is naturally
protected by rocks that surround the island (More 49). While these locations may
seem to offer similar advantages, More s island is specifically different because the
maze of rocks that surrounds it. The reasoning behind this is to have the entrance to
the island be a secret between the citizens. The added protection is a geographic
difference that originates from cultural order.
Another environmental difference between the societies is the development.
Montaigne s civilization lacks all types of infrastructure except housing. He states
their buildings are very long, and of capacity to hold two or three hundred people,
made of the bark of tall trees (Montaigne 3). While these structures seem large, these
are the only types of buildings they have, so overall the land is quite
underdeveloped. On the contrary, in More s society There are fifty four splendid big
towns on the island, all with the same language, laws, customs, and institutions.
(More 50) In Utopia, there are excess buildings for commerce and government. These
geographic disparities stem from the principles of nature and culture.
The final geographic difference is in agriculture. In Of Cannibals there is no form of
agriculture. The absence of cultivation is because the society does not encourage
technological
The Problem Of Safe Injection Sites
There are many ways in which people who are addicted to intravenous drugs are
perceived by our society. People sometimes believe the addicted person is to blame
for their circumstance and substance dependence and some feel serious drug addicts
are a lost cause due to a lack of values or flawed character. Persons who struggle with
addictions often are depicted as criminals or prostitutes, weak, lazy and morally
corrupt (Bartlett, R., Brown, L., Shattell, M., Wright, T., Lewallen, L. (2013). These
stereotypes paint people with addictionnegatively; a percentage of people who live
with serious addiction are capable of recovery with the right attitude, support and
healthcare. Street level healthcare services such as; safe injection sites, provide
accessable resources at street level for people to make the choice to live healthier
lifestyles. Govement funding and support is needed to make these projects possible
to improve the health of Canadians. Safe injection sites are proven to be positive
contributions to communities, save lives, reduce harm and open doors towards
recovery for people from the grip of addiction.
The ethical implications of the Canadian government funding and supporting these
projects, considering current drug laws and policies, are questioned by some. People
believe that the government should not participate in enabling drug use (Globe Mail,
(2011) and that zero tolerance approaches should be taken. In opposition to zero

Iron Man Character Analysis Essay
Tony Stark s Character Growth in Iron Man In the beginning of Iron Man, the
main protagonist, Tony Stark, was generally a bad person. He was an extreme
example of the celebrity stereotype flashy, arrogant, self absorbed, and rude. Stark
took personal honors, as well as relationships with others, for granted. But that all
changed when Stark was kidnapped by a terroristic rebel group. During his time as
a prisoner, Tony saw what horrors his technology could be used for, and later
escaped captivity humbled and changed. From the moment he returned, Stark s
character started growing into a caring and heroic figure. Specifically, Tony Stark
emerged as a new man, actually caring for his assistant, Pepper Pots, being concerned
about what... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Oftentimes these extremely powerful weapons ended up in the wrong hands, like
insurgents. When Tony s convoy was attacked, a rocket lodged into the ground in
front of him, bearing the inscription of Tony s own corporation. Upon his return,
having seen the horrors of his weaponry firsthand, Stark set out to right the wrongs.
At his first press conference after coming home, Tony said, I saw young Americans
killed by the very weapons I created to defend them and protect them. And I saw that
I had become part of a system that is comfortable with zero accountability . (Iron Man
) He then proceeded to shut down the weaponry arm of Stark Industries. These
actions are the sign of a changed man. Tony Stark went from war profiteering to
whistleblowing for corrupt arms dealing. Finally, Tony Stark s most obvious
change was simply in becoming a superhero. From the start of the movie, Stark
was a rich, self interested playboy who would be more concerned over a scratch on
the finish of his Audi R8 than the fate of the free world unless it benefitted him.
Taking a completely different direction, Tony used his Iron Man suit to pursue
those who wrongfully used Stark Industries weapons. Stark even stated, I shouldn t
be alive... unless it was for a reason. I m not crazy, Pepper. I just finally know what
I have to do. And I know in my heart that it s right . (Iron Man) This

The Awakening Kate Chopin Essay

  • 1. The Awakening Kate Chopin Essay Writing an essay on "The Awakening" by Kate Chopin can be a challenging but rewarding task. The novel delves into complex themes such as feminism, societal expectations, and individual identity. Crafting an essay requires a deep understanding of the characters, plot intricacies, and the historical context in which the novel was written. One of the challenges is navigating the nuances of Edna Pontellier's character development throughout the story. The protagonist's journey toward self-discovery and the exploration of her desires demand careful analysis to capture the essence of her awakening. Additionally, addressing the societal norms and expectations of the late 19th century in the context of the novel requires thorough research. Moreover, forming a coherent argument and thesis statement that does justice to the richness of Chopin's work adds another layer of complexity. The essay must go beyond summarizing the plot and explore the underlying messages and symbols embedded in the narrative. It necessitates a critical examination of the author's intentions and the cultural backdrop against which the story unfolds. Balancing the academic aspect with a personal interpretation can be tricky. It's essential to avoid veering too far into subjective analysis while still injecting a unique perspective into the essay. Striking this balance ensures a well-rounded and insightful exploration of the novel. • 2. Low Carb Diet Persuasive Essay BBC News reported last year that a low fat diet is better than cutting carbohydrates for weight loss. But, Mail Online contradicted this by telling that low carb diet is the best way to lose weight. Sounds confusing? By tradition, weight loss diet plans were based on the impression of following a low fat diet. But the modern times proposed a new idea of no or low carb diets, making Atkins diet and others more popular. There was a diet experiment that studied 19 obese males and females for six (6) days. The 6 day low carb diet yielded more weight loss compared to low fat diet. However, the low fat diet caused more fat loss. In general, losing more fat tissues has better effects to your health. Technically, both the reports of BBC News and Mail Online are right. They both hold truth regarding two of the most popular diets of today.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They followed the concept of combining regular physical activity with limited calorie intake. For them, this is a sustainable method to lose weight without depending on any tricks. The confusion on which is the best weight loss diet is quite understandable. The low carb diet can result to more weight loss on the whole. On the other hand, low fat diet will lead to more fat loss. The researchers debated that the fat loss is more significant to those who are obese. This indicates that the weight loss obtained in the low carb diet was not extended to fat loss. Even though this idea was excluded in that study, an individual can lose weight through losses in water and muscle. According to Susan Jebb, a health expert, the best kind of weight loss is the kind of diet that you can stick to. Regardless of following low carb or low fat diet, the bigger issue is how you can sustain the diet in the long run. The human body gets its energy from two (2) main sources: by burning carbs and fats. Both are controlled by the insulin. Popular diets would frequently recommend cutting carbs or
  • 3. Social and Economic Decline in the Western Roman Empire Essay By the fourth century, the Roman Empire had developed exponentially with significant growth in cultural, social, and political activity. Leading up to the Battle of Adrianople of 378 AD, the Empire suffered significant division and its once uniform body began to splinter. After multiple attempts to unify the empire, the East and the West grew increasingly independent. The battle proved a critical turning point in the prominence of the West significantly foreshadowing its future. While the declining reputation of Rome was apparent long before the battle itself, it was clear that the Roman defeat at Adrianople significantly contributed to the Western Empire s gradual disintegration as the dominance of the East thrived. Nearing the fourth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the two mingled, conflict arose and the Goths revolted. The conflict grew and the forces met at Adrianople. The Roman army numbered 30,000 as the Germanic tribes numbered nearly 60,000 (Barbarians). The Western emperor, Valens, acted in haste attacking the Goths head on using little strategy. The Romans ill prepared army was defeated, losing two thirds of its men and even its emperor. The Roman loss at Adrianople proved very significant to the decline of the Western Empire. Being such a powerful empire, the inconsistency of leadership left the social and economic order in a state of jeopardy. ...in the course of fifty years some twenty three emperors succeeded to the imperial throne and with so many emperors, there was little sincere leadership for the success of the Empire (Barbarians 5). As Valens rose to power, he quickly became unpopular in the eyes of the people. Going into the battle, he held a firm desire for swift victory on the apparent weak opponent, and hastily sent his army with inadequate equipment because of reductions in available funds for military spending (History). The insufficient training of the army was also a predominant reason for their loss in the battle. With the economic conditions of the Empire in gradual decline, Valens did not provide his army with the necessary equipment and instruction to be victorious in the Battle of Adrianople, eventually resulting in a dreadful

But my mom started to work all of the time so we were no longer aboul to go there so me and my sister made a garden in the back yard so that when my mom had time we could still garden. That is why one of my hobbies is gardening. Some of the events that had help shape me into the person that I m today is of me and my family always going places. Most of the time we would go to the beach or hiking. I was told by my sisters that one time when we were walking up a hill that my older sister corina had slipped and rolled into some mud and was covered from head to toe in it. • 7. Coffee As A Good Quality Coffee Essay Coffee has been a part of the daily lives of human beings. Whether it is fresh, black, with cream, 3 in 1, or 5 in 1 coffee; people drink it. However, the production of coffee is not simple. First, the coffee beans are grown and ripe, and then they are harvested. These coffee beans need to be roasted in order to make a coffeebeverage. Roasted coffee beans vary in colour and taste. But no matter the strength of the coffee taste, coffee will always be part of our lives. There are many processes before the coffee beans become the coffee that you drink. First, coffee seeds are planted in rich soil in order to grow a good quality coffee plant. The seed will be taken care of for a long period of time until it is fully grown and bears fruit. Once the coffee plant bears fruit, the farmers wait until the fruit is ripe before they start harvesting it. Green coffee beans are then produced. After all the coffee plants have been ripped of their fruits, the farmers will roast all the coffee beans. After they are all roasted in the desired level, coffee beans are grinded into coffee powder. Once pulverized, the resulting raw material will then be packed and is ready to be sold. Roasting coffee is basically to control the flavour that comes out of the beans. Green unroasted coffee beans are smaller and much heavier than a roasted coffee bean. Unroasted coffee bean can also last for years when stored properly and carefully. However, roasted coffee beans are equally needed by people
  • 8. Boyz N The Hood Sociology Boyz N the Hood, directed by John Singleton is one in many films to showcase the harsh reality of African Americans living in the hood . Hood films, as characterized by an identifiable urban setting, such as New York or Los Angeles, and within a modern time frame, use themes of hip hop culture to highlight the issues that plague urban minority communities (Massood 145). Singleton, with Boyz N the Hood, offers a commentary on the harsh experience of young, urban black males by demonstrating the issues faced by these young men, namely lack of upward mobility and cyclical and internal violence. The film presents these well, by defining the hood in terms of the economic destruction felt by South Central neighborhoods from the mid 1970s on, as places brimming with poverty and unemployment (Massood 150). These areas faced huge increases in unemployment, and because many of the lost jobs had required little to no skills or education, many displaced workers were unable to move into other jobs, and with the subsequent lack of adequate education needed to change employment tracks and lack of mobility, urban communities, and especially that of young men, would suffer greatly (Massood 150). The film portrays this by repeatedly showing groups of young men on porches and street corners. One notable repetition is that of Doughboy and his crew, since several times throughout the film they are depicted in the same position. The four are sitting on the porch of the home of Doughboy s mother and drinking 40 ounce malt liquor, and anytime they see a car they don t like, they stand up and stare at the car. Groups of other young men are seen throughout the film, such as at the beginning when they take Ricky s football, and in the neighborhood in Compton. This re creation of similar scenes throughout the movie helps to show the

Instead by accepting and discuss ing the peace between liberal nations, it fails to highlight and in fact sometimes seeks to hide the more aggressive and warring actions of liberals against those from outside of the para digm. • 13. The Demand Theory And Theories Of Corruption Theories of corruption generally fall under two classifications i.e. demand theories and supply theories. Demand theory models of corruption include two approaches: resource allocation models and the principal agent relationship models (Jain, 1998). Resource allocation models evaluate the costs of the allocation of resources to bribe seeking activities. The model is based on the principle that bribe seeking is one aspect of any economic activity and thus part of a firm s resources are devoted to this pursuit (Krueger, 1974). In a competitive system, bribe seeking chances are produced either by agents over government policy or by underlying societal features (Mauro, 1995). Principal agent models of corruption postulate that the misuse of power by individuals/organisations, which is driven by self interest (Shleifer Vishniv, 1993). With more than 150 title sequences, five Emmy nominations, the Title of Honorary Royal Designer and the winner of the AIGA medal in 2014, Cooper has become a huge affect with title designers in the 21st century. His creation of the title sequence for Se7en (1995) is what brought the limelight to Cooper, after having such a success with both the public and filmmakers all around the world. The New York Times went so far as to say that this specific title sequence was one of the most important design innovations of the 1990s. Influenced by the works of Pablo Ferro, Saul Bass, Stephen Frankfurt and Maurice Binder, Cooper s style and designs changed the way in which title sequences for movies, series and video games are done nowadays, by evoking a revival in the importance of a meaningful and well designed title; something that had been gradually lost in the previous decades. It is good that I am reading it in my 20s, being a daughter, single and childless. I truly get the father s anguish and grief. The poems express oscillating feelings that explore the dimensions of extent of strong human emotion. At the same time I understand the son s rebelliousness to a parent who insists that he (the father) listens yet strongly occurs as imposing. Unfortunately, the love desperately being communicated does not go across. The story revolved in the father s thoughts, dreams and memories without an actual dialogue: an attempt to truly listen and get his son. When you are living a busy lifestyle surrounded by material possessions, it becomes difficult to hear what God is saying consequently making it easier to grow distant in your relationship with Him. According to Smith, the fundamental of simplicity includes asking, What do I need? Factors That V Leiden Thrombophilia Factor V Leiden Thrombophilia Thrombophilia is a disorder that contains several genetic components that can cause an individual to form arterial and venous thrombi more readily. Many serious medical complications can result from thrombus formations that are often times fatal. In fact, a venous thromboembolism (VTE) is relatively common and a thrombosis of the deep veins of the legs or pelvis can lead to morbidity and mortality. Small portions of this patient population even develop pulmonary emboli (PE), which can be fatal. This major medical problem affects 1 in 1,000 persons per year and approximately 1 in 130 Americans younger than age 65 develop a VTE (Crow, 2003; Kujovich, 2011). Interestingly enough, inherited thrombophilia can be identified in half of the patients presenting with VTE (Kujovich, 2011). In 1993, European investigators Dahlback and his colleagues recognized a new mechanism for familial thrombophilia. Their research was initiated in order to investigate the cause for a number of young adults that presented with VTE, who had a family history of thrombosis but no detectable genetic link. As a result, a previously unrecognized mechanism associated with activated protein C resistance (APCR) was found Factor V Leiden mutation (Crow, 2003). The constitution established America s national government and provided the fundamental framework for the present and future legal parameters by which the american people would be governed by. The Constitution was officially signed September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia during a constitutional convention. In order for the constitution to actually be an official document, it had to have been ratified meaning that at least nine of the thirteen states present had to approve this document. It was easy for the first seven voters to make their decisions who were pro constitution (federalists), but nevertheless, there were people, anti federalists, who did not support the constitution. Although they did not want the Articles of Confederationin place, neither did they want to ratify the constitution because they opposed of having a strong central government. The ratification of the constitution changed the face of the United Statesand set forth a model for future documents to come. Federalists fought very hard against their opposing party. Why was it so important to the federalist to get this constitution ratified? The constitution not only meant something to the federalists, but without this ratification, it could have led to secession, and this ratification was needed to make improvements to the government. What exactly did the constitution mean for the federalists? The

  • 31. History of the Eucharist History of the Eucharist The Sacrament of Eucharist is the most frequently received Sacraments in the Catholic Church. The matter in the Sacrament of Eucharist is the bread and wine, which changes into the body and blood of Jesus Christ. The Sacrament of Eucharist is dated in the Bible as far back to the Old Testament, indirectly as the Israelites flee from Egypt in the desert, and God gives them manna to eat. This happens multiple times while the Israelites are searching for the Promised Land. The most important part of the Bible when the Eucharistis received, is when Jesus and the Apostles are at the Last Supper. Through the Sacrament of Eucharist, Jesus breaks the bread and passes it around to his apostles. Then, Jesus says that one of them will betray him, and whoever dips the bread in the wine at the same time he does will be the one who will betray him. As we know Judas was the one who betrayed him, and must have been the one to dip the bread in the wine at the same time as Jesus. Even though all the Gospel writers wrote about Jesus Matthew, Mark, and Luke wrote about the meal Jesus had with his Apostles the night before his death, not John. Consequently it is fair to say that to the Jewish people of Jesus time the term Kingdom of God was interpreted as a time when God s rule would be restored through a descendant of David and things would be good again. Macquarrie sums their view precisely when he states, The coming of the Kingdom would mean the judgement of the existing order, the overthrow of all evil and demonic powers and a new order in which God s perfect reign would be manifested. • 41. Of Cannibals And Thomas More s Utopia And Michel De Montaigne An ideal society is a model that strives to function the most efficiently. Both Thomas More s Utopia and Michel de Montaigne s Of Cannibals state the fundamentals of specific ideal societies. The differences in these perfect societies are driven by the principles they are based upon. More s society is based off cultural order while Montaigne s is based on natural order. The two foundations cause geographic, social, and political differences. Geographic differences include physical and human characteristics of a society. This includes where the civilization is located, and the specific features of each landscape. In Of Cannibals , the situation of their country is along the sea shore, enclosed on the other side towards the land, with great and high mountains, having about a hundred leagues in breadth between. (Montaigne 3). Similarly, Utopia s ideal society is also by the ocean but it is a crescent island, that is naturally protected by rocks that surround the island (More 49). While these locations may seem to offer similar advantages, More s island is specifically different because the maze of rocks that surrounds it. The reasoning behind this is to have the entrance to the island be a secret between the citizens. The added protection is a geographic difference that originates from cultural order. Another environmental difference between the societies is the development. Montaigne s civilization lacks all types of infrastructure except housing. He states their buildings are very long, and of capacity to hold two or three hundred people, made of the bark of tall trees (Montaigne 3). While these structures seem large, these are the only types of buildings they have, so overall the land is quite underdeveloped. On the contrary, in More s society There are fifty four splendid big towns on the island, all with the same language, laws, customs, and institutions. (More 50) In Utopia, there are excess buildings for commerce and government. These geographic disparities stem from the principles of nature and culture. The final geographic difference is in agriculture. In Of Cannibals there is no form of agriculture. The absence of cultivation is because the society does not encourage technological
  • 42. The Problem Of Safe Injection Sites There are many ways in which people who are addicted to intravenous drugs are perceived by our society. People sometimes believe the addicted person is to blame for their circumstance and substance dependence and some feel serious drug addicts are a lost cause due to a lack of values or flawed character. Persons who struggle with addictions often are depicted as criminals or prostitutes, weak, lazy and morally corrupt (Bartlett, R., Brown, L., Shattell, M., Wright, T., Lewallen, L. (2013). These stereotypes paint people with addictionnegatively; a percentage of people who live with serious addiction are capable of recovery with the right attitude, support and healthcare. Street level healthcare services such as; safe injection sites, provide accessable resources at street level for people to make the choice to live healthier lifestyles. Govement funding and support is needed to make these projects possible to improve the health of Canadians. Safe injection sites are proven to be positive contributions to communities, save lives, reduce harm and open doors towards recovery for people from the grip of addiction. The ethical implications of the Canadian government funding and supporting these projects, considering current drug laws and policies, are questioned by some. People believe that the government should not participate in enabling drug use (Globe Mail, (2011) and that zero tolerance approaches should be taken. In opposition to zero tollerance attitudes some
