Planet Of The Apes Scientific Intelligence
Scientific Advancement and Intelligence with New Thoughts People have different thoughts towards
the genre of science fiction. These authoritative figures create ideas, which can be used in analyzing
science fiction works. The Psychology of Science Fiction, David Hartwell, and Isaac Asimov are
science fiction analyzers and well known people in the science fiction genre. The Psychology if
Science Fiction gives the authoritative idea of new trains of thought. New trains of thought are used
for a new idea for a person individually or for a group culturally. David Hartwell gives the idea of
intellect over irrationality and emotion. This idea is used when a character uses their intellect rather
than their emotions and irrational thoughts. Lastly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ender is one of the best commanders the International Fleet has ever wanted. He is put through the
physical task that no battle student has ever done before. At Battle School, Ender is the commander of
the dragon army, and is pressured everyday to compete in a battle against another army. Ender wins
seven out of the seven battles he played in a week (Card 186). This shows Ender s intellect over his
irrationality and emotion. It also shows a new train of thought, because no other army is put through
these stressful battle situations. When Ender takes part in the commander school training, there is a
part where Ender unleashes against Petra (Card 284). Ender let his emotions get to him as they
normally do. Ender sometimes lets his emotions too much, rather than think, he does irrational stuff.
Ender is a good for David Hartwell s idea, but yet he contradicts it. Ender finds himself in a hard
situation. He decides to go and restart the bugger colony. This scientific advancement that Ender
wants to bring to the buggers is pessimistic for the International Fleet, and they cannot do anything to

The Relationship Between School Choice And Segregation
School choice is a hot topic at the moment in the politics throughout Texas. Many seem to be against
it, but see the benefits in the choice. Through this paper I research what the relationship between
school choice and segregation is. Through this paper I will explore the isolation of the English
language learning students and the challenges they face because of it. The location of schools and that
reflects in their students, policies of the schools, and of the programs that they offer.
Literature Review
Charter schools enroll larger proportions of minority and low‐income students and smaller proportions
of White students than traditional district public schools statewide: African American students make
up 33% of the students in Texas open‐enrollment charter schools compared to 14% in Texas public
schools, overall. Hispanic students make up 48% of the students enrolled in open‐enrollment charter
schools, compared to the state average of 46%. Open‐enrollment charter schools have a higher
percentage of economically disadvantaged students (70%) than the state average (56%), a lower
percentage of students classified as limited‐English proficient (14%) than the state average (16%), and
a lower percentage of students served in special education (10%) than the state average (11%). o
Campus charter schools serve predominantly Hispanic and low‐income student populations.

What Made Up Theater During The Middle Ages
There is that smaller world which is the stage, and that larger stage which is the world, Isacc
Goldberg. These are important words, because theater is valued in our world today, and was especially
important during the Middle Ages. The church was the main source of order and security during this
time. Going to heaven was the only thing the people really lived for because they had nothing else.
Theater was one of the few things the people of this time could find entertainment in. Theater helped
the people escape from the unexciting and rough world they lived in, and allowed them to be placed in
an exciting new world. There were many different types of plays during the Middle Ages: traveling
performers, liturgical dramas, vernacular plays, cycle plays, and morality plays. All of these made up
theater during the Middle Ages, and helped it to grow and change into what it is today. The Middle
Ages, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These plays took place in Middle Ages between 1200 1350. Miracle plays were one type of vernacular
drama. They had the same concept of liturgical plays, but were more focused on the saints. Mystery
plays were also a type of vernacular drama, and were very close to liturgical plays. These plays were
usually acted by churchmen ( Vernacular ). As the church s control over the plays decreased, cycle
plays came in. Cycle productions were made up of several short plays. Unlike liturgical drama, these
plays did not have to be religious. Depending on the type, cycle productions could be relatively short,
or they could take days to finish. Three hundred actors were not unusual for these plays (Robinson).
Just like with other parts of society during the Middle Ages, women were not in theater. All of these
plays were impacted or controlled by the church. The plays were always reviewed by the church, and
they could disapprove a production. The churches impact on theater declined the most in the 14th

Abstract
Community engagement is the process by which the community benefits organization and individual

Sympatric Speciation Essay
Learning Journal Unit Seven
What is the difference between Allopatric Speciation and Sympatric Speciation?
Allopatric Speciation refers to an outside source begetting geographic separation between two or more
groups of animals obviating them from copulating with each other and leading to the speciation of
their lineage (University of California Museum of Paleontology, 2016a). In contrast, Sympatric
Speciation does not involve physical separation, but instead occurs when development of a habitat
reduces gene flow between a species (University of California Museum of Paleontology, 2016e). For
example, a species of bug typically lays its eggs on oranges, but the introduction of peaches to their
environment spurs some of the species to lay their eggs on the peaches instead. Moreover, with this
particular species, the females always return during mating season to the fruit they hatched from and

Out of the four lines of evidence, I have chosen evidence by example. Though no technology exists

evolutionary process, scientists can observe evolution via artificial selection in a laboratory or note
how modern organisms relate to each other to obtain an augmented understanding of how animals

Analyzing The Movie Top Gun
The first movie that comes to mind when I think of product placement is Top Gun. I personally do not
like this movie but my boyfriend watches it on a monthly basis which means so do I. Tom Cruise is a
big tough guy who enters The Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School to work on his pilot skills. He
consistently attempts to steal the attention of his beautiful flight instructor by trying to be a big shot
which causes tension with the rest of his team. The movie showcases Tom s incredible flight skills that
are extremely risking but very impressive. Once he gets ahold of his ego, he learns how to be a great
pilot, a great team player, and he even gets the girl. Because my boyfriend loves this movie so much,
he owns it on DVD and that is how we access the content. While it s the story that I don t enjoy, it
would be unfair if I didn t admit how attractive Tom Cruise is when he wore his leather jacket and Ray

How Did Galileo Build His Telescope
Galileo Galilei was an extremely important scientific figure. Known as the father of modern science,
Galileo s discoveries and advancements helped build the foundation of theorems and technology still
used today. From proving the Copernican theory to building his own telescope, he made a huge impact
that is definitely worth learning about and noting.
One of the most memorable things Galileo did was create his own telescope. In 1609, he created a
telescope more powerful than any at the time. He constructed it by using a convex objective lens and a
concave eyepiece. Galileo s initial telescope only magnified 8 times, but it was soon refined to 20. He
used this to look at the moon and its phases, the four satellites of Jupiter, a supernova, the phases of
venus, and sunspots. Through the information he collected during these studies, he was able to
disprove the Ptolemaic worldview (the idea that the Earth is the center of the universe) and bring the
Copernican theory to light. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

especially keen on this, often times threatening people with things like torture or (less extreme), house
arrest. Despite his Christian ways, Galileo was always doubtful of the Ptolemaic worldview, which is
partly what inspired his studies. Over the course of a few years with studying with his telescope, he
came to the realization that the Earth orbited the sun, rather than the other way around. He published
these studies, however, the church was not impressed, and Galileo was threatened with

Communicative Language Teaching Essay
Introduction
Communication is an essential tool in our daily life, an aspect that has led to the continuous demand
for learning and teaching of the English language that is widely spoken in the world. It has led to the
development of interest in most people to have the desire to enhance their capacity to the use of the
language, so as to have a good command of the semantic (Gupta, 2004). However, there are different
approaches through which people learn the language that include the formal and informal tactics. The
increased interest to learn English has led to the demand for an effective and efficient approach to
teaching the subject as will be discussed in the above paper. There is need to produce students who
can accurately and fluently communicate as required by the employers and the society in general.
Communicative language teaching, (CLT) has existed since the 1970s and has played a significant role
in the instruction and learning of language (Richards, 2006). Although there are new approaches to
English teaching, it is important to appreciate the fact that CLT still plays an essential role in the
language use and learning. The purpose of the above paper is to give evidence of the relevance of CLT

Who Is Billy Budd A Hero
In his work Billy Budd, Sailor, Herman Melville portrays the protagonist, Billy Budd, as an excellent
sailor and diligent worker who is emotionally underdeveloped. Billy is written as being naive and
good natured, and fails to see the evil that lurks within people. Billy s personal attributes, his
impressment by the British Navy, as well as the wrongful wishes of other men upon his his ship are all
attributes to the Handsome Sailor s downfall. After reading this novella, I have concluded that Billy
Budd is a victim of many wrongful deeds done by man and by man s wars, but Billy is a victim of his
own naivety as well.
In the first paragraph of the novella, the narrator describes Billy Budd as being the Handsome Sailor
of his merchant ship, the Rights of Man. He was well liked by his crewmates and also well respected
due to previous confrontations, such as his brief fight with Red Whiskers. Captain Graveling, when
speaking to Lieutenant Ratcliffe, even stated how they all love him (1). Unfortunately for Billy, his
natural physical ability in combination with his good naturedness made him a victim of his own
success. Upon boarding the ship searching for men to recruit for the navy, Lieutenant Ratcliffe ...

unable to fathom this spitefulness, returned to Dansker in hopes of a more clear solution. This was to
no avail, as Dansker merely repeated his warning. After this however, the narrator writes how two
officers, the Armorer and Captain of the Hold, began to began to cast upon Billy when they chanced to
encounter him (17). This played directly against Billy s naivety, another characteristic that proved to

While at first blush the protection of cultural diversity...
While at first blush the protection of cultural diversity seems like a worthy cause to support for many
of us, there are much deeper implications than the prima facie façade multiculturalism suggests.
Instead, there is a deep and growing tension (Okin,1999; p10) between the ideals of feminism and
those concerned with the protection of cultural rights. This tension is exacerbated when the protection
of those rights safeguards the continuation of practices such as female genital cutting (FGC) in the
name of culture and tradition. Every culture is dynamic, complex, and rich in its own ways. However
when cultures come together and interact there are inevitably tensions and one such tension is centred
on gender and gender norms. In this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this reason I will again turn to Okin (1999) to describe a claim made in the name of cultural rights
and in the context of basically liberal democracies (p10) that minority cultures or ways of life are not
sufficiently protected by the practice of ensuring the individual rights of their members, and as a
consequence these should also be protected through special group rights or privileges (p11). This
claim is at the forefront of many contemporary discussions around cultural group rights and even more
specifically the claim that groups, even the illiberal ones that violate their individual members rights,
requiring them to conform to group beliefs or norms have the right to be left alone in a liberal society
(Okin, 1999; p11). The latter is the claim I will be arguing against using the case study of FGC as an
example of why torture is not culture and therefore should not be left alone.
In the spirit of clarifying terminology I would also like to defend my use of the term female genital
cutting (FGC). While the World Health Organization (2013) uses the commensurable term female
genital mutilation (FGM), I feel that the use of the word mutilation carries a strong negative
connotation and is needlessly inflammatory, instantly slanting perceptions towards a negative
viewpoint. While the term cutting isn t free from these undesirable undertones, it is more of a
technical term to describe the actual procedures that take place. While it could be

All My Sons Research Paper
On September 1, 1939 Hitler invaded Poland which caused one of the worst wars ever known to man.
This war is known as World War Two. Many men who were born in 1923 in the Soviet Union, lost
their lives during the battle. Since most of the men left to fight, the women stayed behind and took
care of the factories and their homes. In a play called All My Sons by Arthur Miller, he wrote about
the struggles of a family who was greatly affected by the war.
One key member of the Keller family was Joe Keller. Joe and his business partner Steve Deever

ORIGIN AND GROWTH OF ELECTRICITY
The history of electricity can be traced back to the eighteenth century. The first instance of sensing the
phenomenon of electricity was the accidental observation of what was later found out to be neon glow
by Framas Bauksbw in 1709 at the Royal Society in London. Luigi Galvani observed moving of the
legs of a dead frog when touched with a metal scalpel. This also was later found to have happened due
to production of electricity by chemical process. Almost at the same time, Alessandro Volta made the
first form of battery. Thus a new phenomenon, the Electric current, was produced which paved the ...

The emergence of more Power Stations and Transmission lines throughout the country didn t take
much time. Till 1948, Electricity generation, transmission and distribution were governed by
Electricity Act 1910. The Government used to give licences for generation, transmission and
distribution of power. But this type of approach was not conducive to a balanced and sufficient growth
in this key sector. There was absence of co ordination and a meaningful orientation for fast
development of the power sector. The importance of electricity industry was duly recognized by that
time and an active role in the field was taken by the government.
State Electricity Boards
When India got independence, the installed capacity of the country was a meagre 1940 MW. The
enacting of the Electricity Supply Act 1948 paved the way for establishing the State Electricity
Boards. It was a major keystone in the history of Electricity in India, which brought this prime
industry under the public sector. There were major steps in the legal framework for the power sector.
The whole picture of enactments in the sector will be dealt with in detail, later in this chapter.
The State Electricity Boards presented a commendable picture in the growing independent India. Till

Anger And Forgiveness In The Film Smoke Signals
In the film Smoke Signals written by Sherman Alexie, anger and forgiveness play a major part in the
lives of the Native Americans who live in the Coeur d Alene Indian Reservation. Forgiving oneself or
forgiving others proves to be a hard battle to conquer. As you view throughout the movie the changes
that take place in each character, think about yourself and what feats you have overcome with anger
and forgiveness. The main characters in the film include Arnold Joseph, Victor Joseph, Thomas Builds
the fire, and Suzy Song. There are multiple areas within the film where offering forgiveness would
hold the key to finding inner peace, the question is do any of the characters actually reach inner peace?
Arnold Joseph battles within his own conscience throughout the film and it isn t obvious whether he
ever forgives himself for what he did. Victor Joseph goes through life with a lot of anger towards his
father, Arnold. He struggles to forgive him for abandoning him as a child, for his alcoholism, and the
physical abuse him and his mother were subjected to. Victor also shows anger towards Thomas Builds
the fire because of their differing views of Arnold Joseph. The only one who doesn t express anger and
is very forgiving is Thomas Builds the fire. He of all people has a right to be angry, after all, he has
lost the most at the hands of another, whether on purpose or by accident. But, he goes through life as a
happy go lucky person, an imaginative storyteller, and above all a caring individual to others.
Interesting enough, the character who changes the most as the movie goes on is Victor Joseph. It isn t
easy for him to forgive, but, as he grows as a person and learns the truth about his fathers actions he
eventually finds peace.
The setting for the majority of the movie takes place at the Coeur d Alene Indian Reservation in Idaho,
but changes when Thomas and Victor travel together to Arizona later in the movie. The movie begins
on July 4th, 1976 and sets the initial conflict early on. It quickly advances to 1998 when the boys are
grown, but, shows excerpts from the past throughout the movie as they reminisced. The Reservation is
portrayed well, showing how Native American societies lived and

Analysis Of The Harper Article
DFW s thesis in the Harper s article is about how he glorifies Bryan A. Garner s dictionary because it
challenges the difference between Democracy and Authority. It helps people understand why language
is important, why we shouldn t end a sentence with a preposition and why/how different dialects can
be helpful to know throughout a person s life. Throughout the article DFW uses harshness, wittiness,
empathy, sympathy and some bold words to affectively get his points a crossed to the reader. In
Harpers article DFW speaks about how important it is to speak multiple dialects. SWE and SBE are
two of the most common dialects. SWE is the abbreviations for Standard Written English, and SBW
stands for Standard Black English. Most successful people use standard written English such as
politicians, lawyers, and news reporters. In schools teachers drill it into the student s head that SWE is
the correct dialect and that any pother that they use is wrong. In this article DFW stresses the
importance of being able to use different dialects in different situations. He then begins describing the
scene of someone who is just getting their paper handed back to them, but when they look at it the
teacher has corrected their paper so that it is in proper SWE format. He then goes on to say that [i]n

For the last three decades, there has been significate improvement, interest, and understating on how
the brain decodes and processes daily information. This increase from the field of neuroscience and

At the bottom back of the brain is where the occipital lobes are located; they are covered by the visual
cortex. This area of the brain is involved in object recognition and is an area of interest in research on
decoding, because it has been suggested to house a word form area. This area is a part of the visual
cortex specialized for recognizing print (Hruby, Goswami, Frederiksen, Perfetti, 2011). As we move
upward, we encounter the parietal lobes. These lobes are responsible for receiving tactile information
such as temperature, pain, and pressure, and integrate this information with sights and sounds (Wolf
Nevills, 2008). The temporal lobes, are covered by the auditory cortex. This area is responsible for
taking in and interpreting auditory stimuli (Wolf Nevills, 2008). Within the temporal lobes lies the
area where speech and memory are produced. These two areas are Wernicke s area and the
Hippocampus. Wernicke s area is the semantic processing center and is a key component of conscious
comprehension of the spoken words (Wolf Nevills, 2008). The hippocampus is where short term
memory is converted to long term memory. According to Zull (2002), the hippocampus does not store
memory itself, instead it finds a way back to various parts of the cortex in a form that is susceptible to
recall, or reassembly, any time later. The last lobes are the frontal lobes. The cortex covering these
lobes is known as the association cortex (Wolf Nevills,

Social Actors And Organizations As One Working Unit
Blumer lastly notes that although many methodologies observe large social actors and organizations as
one working unit, this does not allow the understanding of how the organization functions.
Researchers should look at the individuals within the organization to see how those individuals fit

of how the organization functions and makes its decisions. Blumer sums up his essay perfectly by

His reasoning behind why he believes this is a bit confusing and does not fully explain why this data is
unreliable. He does explain that data created from a recreated world is not useable which is
understandable because it is not being taken from the real world, but he does not fully explain why
quantitative data taken from the real world is inherently wrong. He dismisses any validity it may hold.
This is also confusing for the reader because he is very vocal about testability. He sees testability as
important but throws out research types with clear testability. Many believe that Blumer s symbolic
interactionism lacks hard evidence and testability. A person interprets a symbol and acts how they
choose to act. This lacks the ability to be tested incorrect. Because this theory allows for the actor to
respond in any way they want, then the theory can never be proven wrong meaning there is no
testability (Melzer, Petros, and Reynolds 1975). Skidmore (1975) points out that Blumer s theory does
not account for why an actor will make the same choice in a given situation. This paper allows for the
assumption that every time an actor faces a situation they consciously interpret it and then make a
choice on how to respond. This does not account for the unconscious acts and feelings that go into an
action. Some actions are made without a full understanding of why

Why Is Eczema Important
ECZEMAAND PROBIOTICS Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic allergic disorder
that mainly involves the skin (Sears 89). As reported in, The Allergy Book, of all the allergic
disorders...eczema is the most troublesome to treat (89). In addition, eczema care is much more than
skin deep; the whole body must be healthy to minimize eczema (Sears 98). Our immune system s
response to allergens is what causes millions of us to suffer from allergic disorders (Sears 3). In
addition, epidemiologic data showed that atopic children have a different intestinal flora from that of
healthy ones (Ozdemir par. 4). Researchers are beginning to link the introduction of probiotics as an
effective way to treat/or prevent eczema. Per Dr. Ozdemir, children who ... Show more content on

5). Probiotics are bacteria that are native to your digestive tract, which means, they are normally found
in healthy small and large intestines and can influence the mucosal barrier (the inner lining of the
digestive tract), which in turn can affect immune system functions (EczemaFree.org par. 2). Lack of a
sufficient mucosal barrier allows food and environmental antigens to cross over into the blood stream,
activating the immune system and leading to hyperactivity, which is the hallmark of eczema
conditions (par. 2). This is an example of how usage of probiotics can improve conditions within the
intestinal tract, and in turn reduce eczema symptoms. Unaltered probiotics such as Lactobacillus GG,
with its anti inflammatory powers, may help prevent the development of eczema and other allergic
disorders (Sachs 230). The first clue that gut bacteria could play a role in risk for developing eczema
came in the discovery that breastfed babies have a reduced incidence, prolonged onset and decreased
severity to eczema

The Stolen Party By Liliana Heker
Imagine being the most amazing helper in the world, and the suddenly realizing that you are nothing
but a paid helper. Well thats what the short story The Stolen Party by Liliana Heker is all about. The
adventures Rosaura the maid s daughter and her experience of going to her first rich persons party and
how she interprets it. Throughout the story we see that Rosaura does certain tasks for the owner of the
house Señora Ines and at the end of the party she is paid for these task. We can interpret this in many
ways, but for this essay we will say that Señora Ines did right to pay Rosaura at the end of the day and
that she was teaching rosaura a valuable lesson in life, and that she was wrong to not have taken the
money. Throughout the story we see that Señora Ines is clearly using Rosaura as a maid, that Rosaura
is still enjoying the party even thought she is working and also near the end Señora Ines gives Rosaura
the money so she realize the work she has done does not go without reward. These are clear arguments
that Señora Ines is teaching Rosaura a lesson in life.
During the party Señora Ines gives Rosaura certain jobs throughout the night, reinforcing the fact that
she is using Rosaura as help, she does not give over bearing tasks to Rosaura because she still wants
her to enjoy the party cause in Señora Ines s eyes she is also still a guest to the party. The author really

The H. scobina pries open barnacle plates then uses its proboscis to feed on the organism inside. It can
also feed on mussels, oysters and other molluscs by drilling through their skulls with its radula.
The largest abiotic factors the H. scobina faces is the wind currents and exposure to air, so it has
developed the following adaptations to help it survive:
The H. scobina has the structural adaptation of a strong muscular foot to open up plated organisms,
this helps it feed in this environment as well as keeping it surfaced while large wind and ocean
currents try and push it along. Another structural adaptation is its tough, waterproof outer shell that

Gender Imbalance In Fast Food Advertising
When you see a fast food commercial or watch most fast food advertisements, I bet you don t notice
the problems behind the main content of the commercials. You just see either beautiful women, half
naked, playing with their food, entertaining a man. or eating something that indicates that she s
healthy. Or you might also see a man happily enjoying a steak or any meat of any kind while being
macho with his boys. Another thing you might see is a man taking the lead in the commercial and
having a woman as his silent, sexy partner who in some way contributes to selling a product. The
problems that you failed you see are the oversexualization, animalization, and objectification of
women. Most of the fast food commercials that we see in our daily lives are usually presenting bad
images and representation of women. Though, it is argued that fast food commercials are more aware
of these issues that they present; I believe there is a gender imbalance in fast food advertisements. To
begin, men being superior to women in fast food advertisements have always been around since the
invention of fast food. As time comes along, advertisers have tried to make these issues less obvious.
Advertisers use the heteronormative method for their commercials. In Carrie Packwood Freeman and

Speech On Freedom Of Expression
Is freedom of expression really a right of American citizens, and if so, are there any limits? To start
off, freedom of expression is the right to express one s ideas and opinions freely through speech,
writing, and other forms of communication, but without deliberately causing harm to others character
and/or reputation by false or misleading statements. There is no such thing as full freedom of
expression. There are many articles and laws stating that a person has complete and utter freedom of
expression, but they really do not.
In 1789, the first congress of the States created the Constitution of the United States of America. The

Figure 1. (An illustration showing that both men fighting have no freedom of expression, because they
have invaded personal space and property .)
The limits of expression are physically hurting someone or something, slandering, or breaking a law.
To take a deeper perspective on this, if someone was to act in calumny about a different person, this
could possibly limit their freedom of expression. If they were saying different statements to hurt or
offend someone they have no freedom of expression. As well as if someone was to look at someone or
touch someone in a lecherous way, their freedom of expression is gone, because they have violated
someone else. Another case is if someone was to gibe at someone else and the person was hurt by the
words or phrases, the person who committed the act would lose all of their freedom of expression. To
conclude, if a person offends or invades personal space or property, they have and will lose all of their
freedom of expression, the rights an individual has ends at the point when it affects another person.
Freedom of expression has been an on going issue since the early 1900s. There have been many

Jerry Mason, senior vice president and general manager at Morton Thiokol, and Morton Thiokol were
on the brink of negotiating the booster rocket contract renewal with NASA. Although, it is not an
acceptable reason, we could see how engineers and others below the authority of Jerry could be afraid
to state something contrary to what he stood by. When someone s self interest and pride gets in the
way of engineering, it can neglect the welfare of the public, and cause them harm. This case study
highlights many irresponsible, and ethical failures in a professional work environment. Jerry Mason
failed to abide by the following impediments for responsible action; self interest, ignorance, and group
thinking. Ethics should always be the base of any engineering project. There are some instances where
people, like Jerry Mason, become self interested and forget that at the core of engineering, lies the
responsibility to act with the public s welfare in mind, above all else. The Challenger incident shows
us how Jerry Mason acts contrary to the standards that the public expects professionals engineers to

The Use Of Technology In Neil Postman s Brave New World
The invention of technology has made life easier but has it really helped? Neil Postman s writing
AMUSING OURSELVES TO DEATH from 1985 brings up the concern about the use of new
technology and how it s negatively affecting our society. Neil Postman s unique and very fitting title
AMUSING OURSELVES TO DEATH helps to portray what Postman tries to explain through this
writing. Postman also uses two authors Orwell who s the author of Nineteen Eighty Four and Huxley s
who is the author of Brave New World . The transition from the market of ideas to the market of

valid points about technology and the affect it has on society but it s debatable whether technology is

Central Park Five Summary
In the Central Park Five documentary, the five boys who were falsely accused of a crime that they did
not commit. Because they had no lawyer to defend their cases. I as an underage minor believe that
people who are underage minors ought to have a lawyer to defend them when they are being
interrogated. In addition, underage minors should understand their rights in order to make a decision.
They would not have been in jailed for ages, if they just had a counselor to defend them. Therefore,
minors should always have a legal representation whenever they are being interrogated, since they do
not understand the miranda rights. Some of us might ask ourselves, what are miranda rights? Why is
miranda rights so important? Miranda rights is a right to silence warning which is stated by the police
to criminal suspects in police custody before they are questioned. Miranda warning is significant
because it lets the accused in custody to know what their rights are. For instance, there was an issue
about a 13 year old boy whom the police felt of involvement with robbery. The police did not grant the
boy a miranda warning to notify his rights. So after the police questioned the boy, the supreme court

that, underage minors lie all the time. In some point, substantial amount of kids have lied to their

women. According to the recent facts and figures from American Cancer Society about the number of
deaths from breast cancer in US in 2013, among all ages, has gone up to 39,620. This portrays a
massive number, nevertheless analyzing the mortality trend from 1990 2010, one can grasp the death
rate has been decreased to 34%. Consequently, the known reason behind this decline is attributable to
the improvements in our health care system in terms of treatment, in conjunction with the early

The Reflection Of Ludwig Van Beethoven And Beethoven s...
When one thinks of the most influential composers of the Classical period, who comes to mind? To
name a few, most individuals would state Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. All three of these men made
great contributions to Classical music. However, Beethoven s Ninth Symphony was considered one of
the greatest works of Classical music by both complying to and stretching the norms of the era. Not
only did Beethoven represent the formal ideals of the era, but he also opened the era to new
possibilities of freedom.
A symphony is a musical composition for an orchestra, it employs several movements. This music is
usually disciplined and lengthy. The word symphõnia is of Greek origin meaning notes sounding
together. It often indicated ensemble music in the 16th century. Symphonies for instruments only arose
in the Baroque period (Libin, LE). At this point in time someone usually conducted, but not in the
same manner we see today. The symphony genre that is displayed in Beethoven s Ninth is the product
of the classical period. The strings were then imperative and each instrument carried its own language.
In addition to this, orchestras were gaining size and sounds were changing. Currently, the orchestra is
experiencing freedom. The sections are interchangeable with size, so it changes to the composers
liking ( A Short History of the Symphony Orchestra ).

entire world. Most of the time ideology refers to a set of political beliefs or a set of ideas that relate to
religious views. In a simpler meaning, ideology means having a views or opinions based on your ideas
of that thing.
The Republican ideology today is based on conservatism. They believe in free market economy and
the government s job is to provide for its citizens with military protection. A conservative is someone
who values the heritage that comes from the past. They believe in classical principles and tend to be
more self righteous. Conservative Republicans believe in tradition, less regulation and free enterprise.
They believe in their rights and are hard working. This is the belief that you get what you work for but
the government still helps the ones in need.
Democrats think it is the responsibility of the government to care for all individuals. Democrats are
weak compared to the rest of the political ideologies. They believe the government knows what is best
for the citizens. A Democratic liberal is where democracy uses the principles of liberalism. This
includes social and economic equality. Liberals want the government to help with the lower class and
regulate the rich to ensure they do not have too much power. Liberals do not want a completely free

Cause Of Air Pollution Essay
Air pollution is the introduction of chemicals, particulate matter, or biological materials that cause
harm or discomfort to humans or other living organisms, or cause damage to the natural environment
or built environment, into the atmosphere.
The atmosphere is a complex dynamic natural gaseous system that is essential to support life on planet
Earth. Stratospheric ozone depletiondue to air pollution has long been recognized as a threat to human
health as well as to the Earth s ecosystems.
Indoor air pollution and urban air quality are listed as two of the world s worst pollution problems in
the 2008 Blacksmith Institute World s Worst Polluted Places report.[1]

Smog is a kind of air pollution; the word smog is a portmanteau of smoke and fog. Classic smog
results from large amounts of coal burning in an area caused by a mixture of smoke and sulfur
dioxide. Modern smog does not usually come from coal but from vehicular and industrial emissions
that are acted on in the atmosphere by ultraviolet light from the sun to form secondary pollutants that
also combine with the primary emissions to form photochemical smog.
 Ground level ozone (O3) formed from NOx and VOCs. Ozone (O3) is a key constituent of the
troposphere (it is also an important constituent of certain regions of the stratosphere commonly known
as the Ozone layer). Photochemical and chemical reactions involving it drive many of the chemical
processes that occur in the atmosphere by day and by night. At abnormally high concentrations
brought about by human activities (largely the combustion of fossil fuel), it is a pollutant, and a
constituent of smog.
 Peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN) similarly formed from NOx and VOCs.
Minor air pollutants include:
 A large number of minor hazardous air pollutants. Some of these are regulated in USA under the
Clean Air Act and in Europe under the Air Framework Directive.
 A variety of persistent organic pollutants, which can attach to particulate matter.
Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are organic compounds that are resistant to

Fairytales Double Standards
Throughout time, double standards have always been present in every type of situation and every type
of literature; they are even present in children s fairytales. Though fairytales were intended for adults,
they were soon transformed to entertain children; and double standards of men and women are still
present in today s variations of the tales despite the changes made to them. There are many types of
double standards presented in a variety of ways. One of those standards is who can and who cannot
marry royalty despite the fact that they are not royalty themselves. This double standard can be seen in
such tales as Cinderella , Diamonds and Toads , Jack the Giant Killer , and Tom Thumb . The double
standard of who can and who cannot marry royalty despite the fact that they ... Show more content on

In many tales, women can marry royalty if they are not royalty themselves, as long as they are worthy,
beautiful, and have not committed any kind of social transgression of that particular time period. In
older time periods, especially that of the medieval time period, royalty only married royalty and on
very rare occasions they would marry nobles. The requirement was money and title. A prince would
only marry a princess or queen and a princess would only marry a prince or king. It was not socially
acceptable for royalty to marry those that were not royalty. In the instances of Cinderella and
Diamonds and Toads , this is not necessarily the case; princes did marry women of lower social status
based on their beauty, self worth, and the fact

Advantages And Disadvantages Of The British Army
with the advantages, the British soldiers had more money to buy supplies such as weapons; they did
not have to worry about whether how many armed men were coming up to them and what weapons
were they carrying because they knew that they were the most powerful in this matter. As well as the
advantages, the British army had disadvantages. One of their disadvantages was that they fought from
home, which made them have poor communication with their leaders. The British had a hard job; they
needed to make the Americans to give up their claims of independence. The British army also had less
reasons to fight this war, they were fighting because it was their job, unlike the Americans who were
pursuing freedom. Additionally, the British were fighting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The British decided to end the war in part because of military setbacks but also because London
merchants were eager to renew trade with America. The British government had also concluded that
the war was not worth the cost. The war virtually becomes to an end in 1781 but, it was not until 1783
when the Treaty of Paris made it official. The Treaty of Paris served as a negotiation between the
United States and Great Britain as a way of ending the war. The American Congress named a group of
Americans to discuss the peace negotiation with the British; they included John Adams, John Jay and
Benjamin Franklin. Great Britain finally recognizes that the thirteen former colonies belong to the
Americans and they agreed that the Mississippi is part of the United States serving as a boundary. The
war for independence had effects in political, economic and social life. People started to be treated as
equal, this government became a form of government where power was given to people. Women
became politically active and thousands of slaves were set free. The Articles of Confederation were
created as a great outcome of the Revolutionary

The Neural Basis Of Conceptual Knowledge
Background: Although decades of neuroscience research has shed light on how the brain represents
different types of information, far less is known about the neural basis of conceptual knowledge. Early
neuroscientist in the nineteenth century proposed that concepts are anchored to sensory and motor
experiences; however, there has been much disagreement ever since [old grant 15, 28]. This idea has
gained momentum under the title of embodied cognition [OLD grant 1]. In particular, the theory
argues that over time our conceptual knowledge is refined and built upon by engaging multiple
sensory modalities. Later in development, previous concepts help anchor the instantiation of new
memory instances. What this theory leaves unclear is how the brain integrates more than one source of
sensory information (i.e. supermodal information) to form a representation of a concept. The brain
contains entire areas of cortex that lie between sensory and motor areas that appear to be convergent
zones , that is they bind information from two or more modalities [3,7, 15, 24]. Thereafter, convergent
zones then converge onto even higher cortices to form representations [13]. These supermodal areas
could help capture the similarities and differences between semantic categories, allowing one to
understand the difference between a cat and dog , due to differences in the objects attributes, despite
their similarity as pets. Also unclear is if emotion effects the representation of a concept, which

When an organization builds trust, customers will beat a path to their cash register. One way that Anne
Arundel Community college builds trust is through their affordability. AACC charged the lowest
tuition and fees of its four peer community colleges in fiscal year 2016. It also offers a free tuition
payment plan that allows students to spread the cost of their education throughout the semester. The
college believes no student should be prevented from attending because of limited financial resources.
Many students receive financial aid through a combination of need based federal and state grants,
federal student and parent loans, employment through the Federal Work Study and Institutional
Student Employment Programs, interest free payment plans, or an extensive list of institutional,
community and state scholarship funds. Because of the variety of financial options, the class of 2016
saw a record 2,340 students graduate with 1,154 certificates and 1,850 degrees.
Consistency: Consistency is fundamental for any business. Consistency within Anne Arundel
Community College lets students know what to expect. If AACC s products or quality is inconsistent
the student will stop coming. It also lets them why they should do business with you. And lastly it
allows you to measure and benchmark. This allows an organization to see how they are doing and
what they need to do to improve.

South Beach Diet
According to health care company, Mayoclinic (2014), the three phase South Beach Diet claims it
contains a balance of good carbs, lean protein and healthy fats, making it a nutrient dense, fiber rich
diet that can be followed for a lifetime of healthy eating (Mayoclinic, 2014). It also focuses on eating
foods with a low Glycemic Index and is lower in carbohydrates, yet higher in protein and healthy fats,
than a typical eating plan (Mayoclinic, 2014).
Dietician Juliette Kellow (n.d.) from England s weight loss resources explains the theory behind the
South Beach Diet. Carbohydrates in food get broken down into sugars (namely glucose) which in turn
is absorbed into the blood, causing a rise in blood sugar and energy (Kellow, n.d.). Furthermore, foods
with a high GI, as seen in the graph above, cause a rapid increase in blood sugar then a rapid decrease
in blood sugar, leaving one feeling lethargic and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As seen in Appendix 1, the diet provides more fiber (30 37g) than the RDI for both teen boys (24 28g)
and girls (20 22g). It also provides much more Calcium (1932mg) and Vitamin D (46mcg) than the
RDI for teenage boys and girls (800 1050mg and 5mcg, respectively). It also contains less sodium
(1560 1886mg) than the RDI of 460 920mg for teenagers (Appendix 1).
Furthermore, as US News reports, the South Beach diet seems to be an effective way to lose weight
short term. Weak evidence also points to potential cardiovascular health by slightly reducing LDL i.e.
bad cholesterol (US News, 2015).
According to Mayoclinic (2014) this diet is generally safe however, if one were to severely restrict
their carbohydrate intake, ketosis may form. This occurs when there isn t enough glucose in the body
for energy, so the body breaks down stored fat and forms ketones. Side effects include nausea,
headache, mental fatigue and bad breath (Mayoclinic,

These authoritative figures create ideas, which can be used in analyzing science fiction works. The Psychology of Science Fiction, David Hartwell, and Isaac Asimov are science fiction analyzers and well known people in the science fiction genre. The Psychology if Science Fiction gives the authoritative idea of new trains of thought. New trains of thought are used for a new idea for a person individually or for a group culturally. Ender sometimes lets his emotions too much, rather than think, he does irrational stuff. Ender is a good for David Hartwell s idea, but yet he contradicts it. Ender finds himself in a hard situation. Many seem to be against it, but see the benefits in the choice. Through this paper I research what the relationship between school choice and segregation is. Through this paper I will explore the isolation of the English language learning students and the challenges they face because of it. The location of schools and that reflects in their students, policies of the schools, and of the programs that they offer. Literature Review Charter schools enroll larger proportions of minority and low‐income students and smaller proportions of White students than traditional district public schools statewide: African American students make up 33% of the students in Texas open‐enrollment charter schools compared to 14% in Texas public schools, overall. Hispanic students make up 48% of the students enrolled in open‐enrollment charter schools, compared to the state average of 46%. Open‐enrollment charter schools have a higher percentage of economically disadvantaged students (70%) than the state average (56%), a lower percentage of students classified as limited‐English proficient (14%) than the state average (16%), and a lower percentage of students served in special education (10%) than the state average (11%). o Campus charter schools serve predominantly Hispanic and low‐income student populations. https://www.tasb.org/Legislative/Issue Based Resources/documents/charters.aspx ......................................... • 4. What Made Up Theater During The Middle Ages There is that smaller world which is the stage, and that larger stage which is the world, Isacc Goldberg. These are important words, because theater is valued in our world today, and was especially important during the Middle Ages. The church was the main source of order and security during this time. Going to heaven was the only thing the people really lived for because they had nothing else. Theater was one of the few things the people of this time could find entertainment in. Theater helped the people escape from the unexciting and rough world they lived in, and allowed them to be placed in an exciting new world. There were many different types of plays during the Middle Ages: traveling performers, liturgical dramas, vernacular plays, cycle plays, and morality plays. All of these made up theater during the Middle Ages, and helped it to grow and change into what it is today. The Middle Ages, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mystery plays were also a type of vernacular drama, and were very close to liturgical plays. These plays were usually acted by churchmen ( Vernacular ). As the church s control over the plays decreased, cycle plays came in. Cycle productions were made up of several short plays. Unlike liturgical drama, these plays did not have to be religious. Depending on the type, cycle productions could be relatively short, or they could take days to finish. Three hundred actors were not unusual for these plays (Robinson). Just like with other parts of society during the Middle Ages, women were not in theater. All of these plays were impacted or controlled by the church. The plays were always reviewed by the church, and they could disapprove a production. The churches impact on theater declined the most in the 14th ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Allopatric Speciation refers to an outside source begetting geographic separation between two or more groups of animals obviating them from copulating with each other and leading to the speciation of their lineage (University of California Museum of Paleontology, 2016a). In contrast, Sympatric Speciation does not involve physical separation, but instead occurs when development of a habitat reduces gene flow between a species (University of California Museum of Paleontology, 2016e). Known as the father of modern science, Galileo s discoveries and advancements helped build the foundation of theorems and technology still used today. From proving the Copernican theory to building his own telescope, he made a huge impact that is definitely worth learning about and noting. One of the most memorable things Galileo did was create his own telescope. In 1609, he created a telescope more powerful than any at the time. He constructed it by using a convex objective lens and a concave eyepiece. Galileo s initial telescope only magnified 8 times, but it was soon refined to 20. He used this to look at the moon and its phases, the four satellites of Jupiter, a supernova, the phases of venus, and sunspots. • 10. Communicative Language Teaching Essay Introduction Communication is an essential tool in our daily life, an aspect that has led to the continuous demand for learning and teaching of the English language that is widely spoken in the world. It has led to the development of interest in most people to have the desire to enhance their capacity to the use of the language, so as to have a good command of the semantic (Gupta, 2004). However, there are different approaches through which people learn the language that include the formal and informal tactics. The increased interest to learn English has led to the demand for an effective and efficient approach to teaching the subject as will be discussed in the above paper. There is need to produce students who can accurately and fluently communicate as required by the employers and the society in general. Communicative language teaching, (CLT) has existed since the 1970s and has played a significant role in the instruction and learning of language (Richards, 2006). Although there are new approaches to English teaching, it is important to appreciate the fact that CLT still plays an essential role in the language use and learning. Billy is written as being naive and good natured, and fails to see the evil that lurks within people. Billy s personal attributes, his impressment by the British Navy, as well as the wrongful wishes of other men upon his his ship are all attributes to the Handsome Sailor s downfall. After reading this novella, I have concluded that Billy Budd is a victim of many wrongful deeds done by man and by man s wars, but Billy is a victim of his own naivety as well. In the first paragraph of the novella, the narrator describes Billy Budd as being the Handsome Sailor of his merchant ship, the Rights of Man. He was well liked by his crewmates and also well respected due to previous confrontations, such as his brief fight with Red Whiskers. Captain Graveling, when speaking to Lieutenant Ratcliffe, even stated how they all love him (1). • 12. While at first blush the protection of cultural diversity... While at first blush the protection of cultural diversity seems like a worthy cause to support for many of us, there are much deeper implications than the prima facie façade multiculturalism suggests. Instead, there is a deep and growing tension (Okin,1999; p10) between the ideals of feminism and those concerned with the protection of cultural rights. This tension is exacerbated when the protection of those rights safeguards the continuation of practices such as female genital cutting (FGC) in the name of culture and tradition. Every culture is dynamic, complex, and rich in its own ways. However when cultures come together and interact there are inevitably tensions and one such tension is centred on gender and gender norms. In this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this reason I will again turn to Okin (1999) to describe a claim made in the name of cultural rights and in the context of basically liberal democracies (p10) that minority cultures or ways of life are not sufficiently protected by the practice of ensuring the individual rights of their members, and as a consequence these should also be protected through special group rights or privileges (p11). This claim is at the forefront of many contemporary discussions around cultural group rights and even more specifically the claim that groups, even the illiberal ones that violate their individual members rights, requiring them to conform to group beliefs or norms have the right to be left alone in a liberal society (Okin, 1999; p11). The latter is the claim I will be arguing against using the case study of FGC as an example of why torture is not culture and therefore should not be left alone. In the spirit of clarifying terminology I would also like to defend my use of the term female genital cutting (FGC). While the World Health Organization (2013) uses the commensurable term female genital mutilation (FGM), I feel that the use of the word mutilation carries a strong negative connotation and is needlessly inflammatory, instantly slanting perceptions towards a negative viewpoint. While the term cutting isn t free from these undesirable undertones, it is more of a technical term to describe the actual procedures that take place. While it could be ... • 16. Anger And Forgiveness In The Film Smoke Signals In the film Smoke Signals written by Sherman Alexie, anger and forgiveness play a major part in the lives of the Native Americans who live in the Coeur d Alene Indian Reservation. Forgiving oneself or forgiving others proves to be a hard battle to conquer. As you view throughout the movie the changes that take place in each character, think about yourself and what feats you have overcome with anger and forgiveness. The main characters in the film include Arnold Joseph, Victor Joseph, Thomas Builds the fire, and Suzy Song. There are multiple areas within the film where offering forgiveness would hold the key to finding inner peace, the question is do any of the characters actually reach inner peace? Arnold Joseph battles within his own conscience throughout the film and it isn t obvious whether he ever forgives himself for what he did. Victor Joseph goes through life with a lot of anger towards his father, Arnold. He struggles to forgive him for abandoning him as a child, for his alcoholism, and the physical abuse him and his mother were subjected to. Victor also shows anger towards Thomas Builds the fire because of their differing views of Arnold Joseph. The only one who doesn t express anger and is very forgiving is Thomas Builds the fire. He of all people has a right to be angry, after all, he has lost the most at the hands of another, whether on purpose or by accident. But, he goes through life as a happy go lucky person, an imaginative storyteller, and above all a caring individual to others. Interesting enough, the character who changes the most as the movie goes on is Victor Joseph. It isn t easy for him to forgive, but, as he grows as a person and learns the truth about his fathers actions he eventually finds peace. The setting for the majority of the movie takes place at the Coeur d Alene Indian Reservation in Idaho, but changes when Thomas and Victor travel together to Arizona later in the movie. The movie begins on July 4th, 1976 and sets the initial conflict early on. Throughout the article DFW uses harshness, wittiness, empathy, sympathy and some bold words to affectively get his points a crossed to the reader. In Harpers article DFW speaks about how important it is to speak multiple dialects. SWE and SBE are two of the most common dialects. SWE is the abbreviations for Standard Written English, and SBW stands for Standard Black English. Most successful people use standard written English such as politicians, lawyers, and news reporters. In schools teachers drill it into the student s head that SWE is the correct dialect and that any pother that they use is wrong. In this article DFW stresses the importance of being able to use different dialects in different situations. This increase from the field of neuroscience and education, has helped us expand our understanding of the neural chemistry, physiology, and growth processes that support behavior, cognition, language, emotion, sociality, and their development (Hruby, Goswami, Frederiksen, Perfetti, 2011). The recent advances in cognitive neuroscience has caught the attention of educators. Naturally, people interested in learning and education might want to know how results from relevant cognitive neuroscience research could be applied in the classroom (Ansari, Coch, Smedt, 2011). This area of the brain is involved in object recognition and is an area of interest in research on decoding, because it has been suggested to house a word form area. This area is a part of the visual cortex specialized for recognizing print (Hruby, Goswami, Frederiksen, Perfetti, 2011). As we move upward, we encounter the parietal lobes. These lobes are responsible for receiving tactile information such as temperature, pain, and pressure, and integrate this information with sights and sounds (Wolf Nevills, 2008). The temporal lobes, are covered by the auditory cortex. This area is responsible for taking in and interpreting auditory stimuli (Wolf Nevills, 2008). Within the temporal lobes lies the area where speech and memory are produced. These two areas are Wernicke s area and the Hippocampus. Wernicke s area is the semantic processing center and is a key component of conscious comprehension of the spoken words (Wolf Nevills, 2008). The hippocampus is where short term memory is converted to long term memory. According to Zull (2002), the hippocampus does not store memory itself, instead it finds a way back to various parts of the cortex in a form that is susceptible to recall, or reassembly, any time later. The last lobes are the frontal lobes. The cortex covering these lobes is known as the association cortex (Wolf Nevills, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Social Actors And Organizations As One Working Unit Blumer lastly notes that although many methodologies observe large social actors and organizations as one working unit, this does not allow the understanding of how the organization functions. Researchers should look at the individuals within the organization to see how those individuals fit together and how they interact. The interactions of the people within the organization paint a picture of how the organization functions and makes its decisions. Blumer sums up his essay perfectly by saying respect the empirical world and organize a methodological stance to reflect that respect (Blumer 1986, p. 60). His reasoning behind why he believes this is a bit confusing and does not fully explain why this data is unreliable. He does explain that data created from a recreated world is not useable which is understandable because it is not being taken from the real world, but he does not fully explain why quantitative data taken from the real world is inherently wrong. He dismisses any validity it may hold. This is also confusing for the reader because he is very vocal about testability. He sees testability as important but throws out research types with clear testability. Many believe that Blumer s symbolic interactionism lacks hard evidence and testability. A person interprets a symbol and acts how they choose to act. This lacks the ability to be tested incorrect. Because this theory allows for the actor to respond in any way they want, then the theory can never be proven wrong meaning there is no testability (Melzer, Petros, and Reynolds 1975). Skidmore (1975) points out that Blumer s theory does not account for why an actor will make the same choice in a given situation. This paper allows for the assumption that every time an actor faces a situation they consciously interpret it and then make a choice on how to respond. This does not account for the unconscious acts and feelings that go into an action. Some actions are made without a full understanding of why ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As reported in, The Allergy Book, of all the allergic disorders...eczema is the most troublesome to treat (89). In addition, eczema care is much more than skin deep; the whole body must be healthy to minimize eczema (Sears 98). Our immune system s response to allergens is what causes millions of us to suffer from allergic disorders (Sears 3). In addition, epidemiologic data showed that atopic children have a different intestinal flora from that of healthy ones (Ozdemir par. 4). Probiotics are bacteria that are native to your digestive tract, which means, they are normally found in healthy small and large intestines and can influence the mucosal barrier (the inner lining of the digestive tract), which in turn can affect immune system functions (EczemaFree.org par. 2). Lack of a sufficient mucosal barrier allows food and environmental antigens to cross over into the blood stream, activating the immune system and leading to hyperactivity, which is the hallmark of eczema conditions (par. 2). This is an example of how usage of probiotics can improve conditions within the intestinal tract, and in turn reduce eczema symptoms. Unaltered probiotics such as Lactobacillus GG, with its anti inflammatory powers, may help prevent the development of eczema and other allergic disorders (Sachs 230). The first clue that gut bacteria could play a role in risk for developing eczema came in the discovery that breastfed babies have a reduced incidence, prolonged onset and decreased severity to eczema ... To start off, freedom of expression is the right to express one s ideas and opinions freely through speech, writing, and other forms of communication, but without deliberately causing harm to others character and/or reputation by false or misleading statements. There is no such thing as full freedom of expression. There are many articles and laws stating that a person has complete and utter freedom of expression, but they really do not. If they were saying different statements to hurt or offend someone they have no freedom of expression. As well as if someone was to look at someone or touch someone in a lecherous way, their freedom of expression is gone, because they have violated someone else. Another case is if someone was to gibe at someone else and the person was hurt by the words or phrases, the person who committed the act would lose all of their freedom of expression. To conclude, if a person offends or invades personal space or property, they have and will lose all of their freedom of expression, the rights an individual has ends at the point when it affects another person. To name a few, most individuals would state Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. All three of these men made great contributions to Classical music. However, Beethoven s Ninth Symphony was considered one of the greatest works of Classical music by both complying to and stretching the norms of the era. Not only did Beethoven represent the formal ideals of the era, but he also opened the era to new possibilities of freedom. A symphony is a musical composition for an orchestra, it employs several movements. This music is usually disciplined and lengthy. The word symphõnia is of Greek origin meaning notes sounding together. It often indicated ensemble music in the 16th century. Symphonies for instruments only arose in the Baroque period (Libin, LE). At this point in time someone usually conducted, but not in the same manner we see today. The symphony genre that is displayed in Beethoven s Ninth is the product of the classical period. The strings were then imperative and each instrument carried its own language. In addition to this, orchestras were gaining size and sounds were changing. Currently, the orchestra is experiencing freedom. The sections are interchangeable with size, so it changes to the composers liking ( A Short History of the Symphony Orchestra ). • 40. Taking a Look at Political Ideologies It s an understatement to say our ideology shapes the way we live our lives every day. It affects the way we view and react to different people. Ideology is a set of beliefs that affects our outlook on the entire world. Most of the time ideology refers to a set of political beliefs or a set of ideas that relate to religious views. In a simpler meaning, ideology means having a views or opinions based on your ideas of that thing. The Republican ideology today is based on conservatism. They believe in free market economy and the government s job is to provide for its citizens with military protection. A conservative is someone who values the heritage that comes from the past. They believe in classical principles and tend to be more self righteous. Conservative Republicans believe in tradition, less regulation and free enterprise. They believe in their rights and are hard working. This is the belief that you get what you work for but the government still helps the ones in need. Democrats think it is the responsibility of the government to care for all individuals. Democrats are weak compared to the rest of the political ideologies. They believe the government knows what is best for the citizens. A Democratic liberal is where democracy uses the principles of liberalism. This includes social and economic equality. Liberals want the government to help with the lower class and regulate the rich to ensure they do not have too much power. Liberals do not want a completely free ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The atmosphere is a complex dynamic natural gaseous system that is essential to support life on planet Earth. Stratospheric ozone depletiondue to air pollution has long been recognized as a threat to human health as well as to the Earth s ecosystems. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Smog is a kind of air pollution; the word smog is a portmanteau of smoke and fog. Classic smog results from large amounts of coal burning in an area caused by a mixture of smoke and sulfur dioxide. Modern smog does not usually come from coal but from vehicular and industrial emissions that are acted on in the atmosphere by ultraviolet light from the sun to form secondary pollutants that also combine with the primary emissions to form photochemical smog.  Ground level ozone (O3) formed from NOx and VOCs. Ozone (O3) is a key constituent of the troposphere (it is also an important constituent of certain regions of the stratosphere commonly known as the Ozone layer). Photochemical and chemical reactions involving it drive many of the chemical processes that occur in the atmosphere by day and by night. At abnormally high concentrations brought about by human activities (largely the combustion of fossil fuel), it is a pollutant, and a constituent of smog.  Peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN) similarly formed from NOx and VOCs. Minor air pollutants include:  A large number of minor hazardous air pollutants. Some of these are regulated in USA under the Clean Air Act and in Europe under the Air Framework Directive.  A variety of persistent organic pollutants, which can attach to particulate matter. Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are organic compounds that are resistant to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In many tales, women can marry royalty if they are not royalty themselves, as long as they are worthy, beautiful, and have not committed any kind of social transgression of that particular time period. In older time periods, especially that of the medieval time period, royalty only married royalty and on very rare occasions they would marry nobles. The requirement was money and title. A prince would only marry a princess or queen and a princess would only marry a prince or king. It was not socially acceptable for royalty to marry those that were not royalty. In the instances of Cinderella and Diamonds and Toads , this is not necessarily the case; princes did marry women of lower social status based on their beauty, self worth, and the fact ... Advantages And Disadvantages Of The British Army with the advantages, the British soldiers had more money to buy supplies such as weapons; they did not have to worry about whether how many armed men were coming up to them and what weapons were they carrying because they knew that they were the most powerful in this matter. As well as the advantages, the British army had disadvantages. One of their disadvantages was that they fought from home, which made them have poor communication with their leaders. The British had a hard job; they needed to make the Americans to give up their claims of independence. The British army also had less reasons to fight this war, they were fighting because it was their job, unlike the Americans who were pursuing freedom. Additionally, the British were fighting ... • 44. The Neural Basis Of Conceptual Knowledge Background: Although decades of neuroscience research has shed light on how the brain represents different types of information, far less is known about the neural basis of conceptual knowledge. Early neuroscientist in the nineteenth century proposed that concepts are anchored to sensory and motor experiences; however, there has been much disagreement ever since [old grant 15, 28]. This idea has gained momentum under the title of embodied cognition [OLD grant 1]. In particular, the theory argues that over time our conceptual knowledge is refined and built upon by engaging multiple sensory modalities. Later in development, previous concepts help anchor the instantiation of new memory instances. What this theory leaves unclear is how the brain integrates more than one source of sensory information (i.e. supermodal information) to form a representation of a concept. The brain contains entire areas of cortex that lie between sensory and motor areas that appear to be convergent zones , that is they bind information from two or more modalities [3,7, 15, 24]. Thereafter, convergent zones then converge onto even higher cortices to form representations [13]. These supermodal areas could help capture the similarities and differences between semantic categories, allowing one to understand the difference between a cat and dog , due to differences in the objects attributes, despite their similarity as pets. Also unclear is if emotion effects the representation of a concept, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. South Beach Diet According to health care company, Mayoclinic (2014), the three phase South Beach Diet claims it contains a balance of good carbs, lean protein and healthy fats, making it a nutrient dense, fiber rich diet that can be followed for a lifetime of healthy eating (Mayoclinic, 2014). It also focuses on eating foods with a low Glycemic Index and is lower in carbohydrates, yet higher in protein and healthy fats, than a typical eating plan (Mayoclinic, 2014). Dietician Juliette Kellow (n.d.) from England s weight loss resources explains the theory behind the South Beach Diet. Carbohydrates in food get broken down into sugars (namely glucose) which in turn is absorbed into the blood, causing a rise in blood sugar and energy (Kellow, n.d.). Furthermore, foods with a high GI, as seen in the graph above, cause a rapid increase in blood sugar then a rapid decrease in blood sugar, leaving one feeling lethargic and ... Weak evidence also points to potential cardiovascular health by slightly reducing LDL i.e. bad cholesterol (US News, 2015). According to Mayoclinic (2014) this diet is generally safe however, if one were to severely restrict their carbohydrate intake, ketosis may form.
