Essay Structure Introduction
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay Structure Introduction" can be a challenging task, as it
requires a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in crafting a compelling introduction.
The difficulty lies in striking the right balance between capturing the reader's attention and
providing a clear roadmap for the rest of the essay.
One of the challenges is finding an engaging hook that not only sparks interest but also aligns
with the overall theme of the essay. Crafting a thesis statement that succinctly conveys the main
idea while leaving room for exploration further adds to the complexity. The introduction should
also seamlessly transition into the body of the essay, setting the stage for the in-depth analysis
that follows.
Moreover, achieving coherence and cohesion in the introduction is vital. Each sentence should
contribute to the overall flow of ideas, avoiding any abrupt shifts that may confuse the reader.
Striking the right tone and maintaining a formal yet engaging style further complicates the
writing process.
Additionally, considering the diverse nature of essay topics and the need for customization,
tailoring the introduction to fit the specific subject matter poses an additional challenge.
Balancing creativity with academic rigor is crucial, as an overly elaborate introduction may
detract from the essay's scholarly credibility.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the intricacies of structuring introductions demands a
thorough understanding of rhetorical strategies, coherence, and the ability to tailor the content to
the specific essay topic. It is a task that requires time, effort, and careful consideration to create
an introduction that captivates the reader while effectively paving the way for the subsequent
discussion.

How Do Humans Affect Polar Bears
The Polar bear lives in the artic and uses the area s costal waters and ice sheets.
They are well equipped to live in this environment because they have a thick coat
which serves as an insulator. They mainly prey on seals but have also been known
to consume dead whales. They can grow to be 7.25 to 8 feet tall and can weigh
around 900 to 1,600 pounds. Polar bears are a keystone species, if their numbers
decrease there is a possibility that the seal populations will increase which could be
devastating for crustaceans and fish. They help keep populations in balance. Global
Warming is an ongoing problem in the world which causes the average global
temperature to increase near the earth surface. This has affected many animals,
especially the polar
Social Work Observation Speeches
In order for my classmates and me to get to know each other better, our teacher,
Mrs. Henry, put us all in groups. We conducted interviews of each member of our
group, and it allowed us to become more familiar with each other. The people in my
group are Holly, Kaitlyn, and Gervante. I would like to tell you about their goals
accomplishments, and aspirations.
Holly is a thirty four year old athletic mother who wants to become a social worker.
In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball and softball. Also, finding activities
to do with her two kids is something she loves to do. Her oldest daughter, is named
Madeline, and she is fourteen. Her son, Drew, is the youngest at six. Holly graduated

Galileo Galilei And The Modern Experimental Method
Galileo Galilei was born in Pisa, Italy on February 15, 1564. His father, Vincenzio
Galilei, was a musician whose originality and polemic talents fomented a revolution
uniting practice and theory in music much as Galileo was to unite them in science. I
Galileo is credited with establishing the modern experimental method in a time when
most progress made by scientists and thinkers was based on hypotheses alone. He
began the practice of testing scientific theories by preforming experiments and
observing the results. Receiving his early education at a monastery near Florence, in
1581 Galileo entered the University of Pisa to study medicine, later devoting himself
to mathematics. II Unfortunately, he would not have the finances required to... Show

However, through his experiments he did eventually prove that all objects fall at
the same rate, regardless of weight. From 1602 to 1609 Galileo continued to study
speeds of falling objects, including pendulums. He studied these objects as they
moved in arcs and along inclines and developed the law of uniform acceleration,
which would later help Isaac Newton derive the law of gravity.VIII Overtime,
Galileo would contribute many works and discoveries to the field of science, and
is often referred to as the Father of Modern Science because of this. In 1593,
Galileo invented an early thermometer, which became one of the first instruments
for measuring used in science. It was crude and worked by having a pocket of air
that expanded or contracted based on the temperature which, in turn, moved a
column of water up or down.IX Later in 1609, he made improvements on Hans
Lippershey s telescope, which landed him a lifetime appointment to the University of
Venice.X Using this improved telescope, Galileo made new discoveries about the
heavenly bodies of our solar system and galaxy. In 1610 he observed that Venus went
through light and dark phases much like our moon, and concluded that this was
because Venus also reflected the Sun s light. Looking at the Sun itself, he discovered
that it had dark spots and that these sunspots changed in position

E. B. Priestley s My Novel
NANO WRIMO
GRADES
Ever attempted to write an exquisite, quality novel? Well I have, and I put my
transcendent efforts toward the novel. This includes an outstanding performance in
my characters, plotline, and setting. However, intermittently I reminisce on former
events in my novel. I have come to comprehend the fact that not everything that I
have recorded in my novel is completely professional and well developed. As I
construe my novel, I realize that I may not deserve the grade that I had originally
anticipated. Most people accord to themselves a much more sophisticated grade
then they may have earned. Others may potentially grant themselves a much less
desired score. After a stretched period of brainstorming and research, I believe I
know for certain what grade I deserve for my characters, setting, and plot. To begin, I
conclude that I have acquired the score of developing for the characters category.
First, all my essential character have a background that is precisely expressed. The
main character in my novel (Trip) is a homeless orphan who is desperate for a loving
family. Throughout this emotional story, mass background is provided for him, and
other characters he reconciles with along the way. Every now and then, information
is provided about his parent s past. In these explanatory flashbacks, the reader will
learn supplementary information about the antagonist is exposed. Also, the
characters in my novel are exclusive. They are all individual in their own unique

The Book Of Psalms
If the book of Psalms be, as some have styled it, a mirror or looking glass of pious
and devout affections, this psalm in particular deserves, as much as any one psalm,
to be so entitled, and is as proper as any to kindle and excite such in us: gracious
desires are here strong and fervent; gracious hopesand fears, joys and sorrows, are
here struggling, but the pleasing passion comes off a conqueror. Or we may take it
for a conflict between sense and faith, sense objecting and faith answering. I. Faith
begins with holy desirestowards God and communion with him (v. 1, 2). II. Sense

Without knowing the expected results, quality level or capability of the end product,
a project is difficult to plan, execute or conclude. A project is temporary in that there
is a defined start (the decision to proceed) and a defined end (the achievement of the
goals and objectives). Ongoing business or maintenance operations are not projects.
Because projects are temporary in nature, project managers are constantly evolving
and looking forward to the next new challenge in their career.

Serial Killers --
SERIAL KILLERS A serial killer is a person whom everybody knows as a friend, a
lover or even a father but no one knows about his killer instinct until it #8217;s to
late. Serial killers have plagued this country and others for many years. They are
hard to find and virtually undetectable until they start murdering the innocent. Serial
killers are usually young, white males who are quite intelligent and often come from
broken homes. They may have been abused either physically or sexually during
childhood and they have serious personality defects, such as low self esteem and a
lifelong sense of loneliness. Although no two serial killers are alike, they all fit this
description somewhat. In the sixth edition of Crimeand... Show more content on

The more sadistic of the killers who may use a video camera to tape their victims so
that they can relay them to relive the crime over and over again in their minds.
#8220;The anger of a serial killer usually surfaces when the killer is in his mid to
late 20 #8217;s and the first murder is usually the result of a #8220;precipitating
stressor #8221; some event that pushes him over the edge #8221; (Clark, p. 206).
Mass killers tend to be white, middle class, middle aged males. After they kill their
first victim, they may experience some remorse but after they kill again their
remorse dwindles and they enjoy the kill and the high that goes along with it.
Once the murder hunt begins, it never ends until the killer is caught, letting him
operate for years without being detected. No one knows what causes these men to
kill, they don #8217;t know themselves. Jack Levin notes #8220;the mass killer
may be depresses, disillusioned, despondent, or desperate, during the kill but
afterwards act like nothing has ever happened #8221; (Douglas, p. 137). A serial
killer may have a fascination with law enforcement. Some serial killers will get
involved in an investigation by going to bars where cops gather to try to overhear
the cases details, some may monitor the investigation of their own crimes and some
give bogus to throw off police (Clark, p. 206). When they are part of their own
investigation, it allows them to keep extending control over their

Essay about Case Study Moss Mcadams
Bruce Palmer had worked for Moss and McAdams (M M) for six years and was
just promoted to account manager. His first assignment was to lead an audit of
Johnsonville Trucks. He was quite pleased with the five accountants who had been
assigned to his team, especially Zeke Olds. Olds was an Army vet who returned to
school to get a double major in accounting and computer sciences. He was on top of
the latest developments in financial information systems and had a reputation for
coming up with innovative solutions to problems. M M was a well established
regional accounting firm with 160 employees located across six offices in Minnesota
and Wisconsin. The main office, where Palmer worked, was in Green Bay,
Wisconsin. In fact, one of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, after 10 to 12 years with the firm, the manager was considered for
promotion to partner. This was a very competitive position. During the last five
years, only 20 percent of account managers at M M had been promoted to partner.
However, once a partner, they were virtually guaranteed the position for life and
enjoyed significant increases in salary, benefits, and prestige. M M had a
reputation for being a results driven organization; partner promotions were based
on meeting deadlines, retaining clients, and generating revenue. The promotion
team based its decision on the relative performance of the account manager in
comparison to his or her cohorts. One week into the Johnsonville audit, Palmer
received a call from Sands to visit her office. There he was introduced to Ken
Crosby, who recently joined M M after working nine years for a Big 5 accounting
firm. Crosby was recruited to manage special consulting projects. Sands reported
that Crosby had just secured a major consulting project with Springfield Metals.
This was a major coup for the firm: M M had competed against two Big 5
accounting firms for the project. Sands went on to explain that she was working
with Crosby to put together his team. Crosby insisted that Zeke Olds be assigned to
his team. Sands told him that this would be impossible because Olds was already
assigned to work on the Johnsonville audit. Crosby persisted, arguing that
Herbert s Dune
Moreover, the dominant theme within Frank Herbert s Dune is the theme of
ecology. Not only did Herbert focus on environmental ecology but, he also included
social, political, economic, and language ecologies. The term ecology deputes one
of the basic divisions of biology (Logan 51). Ecology is the study of the structure
and dynamics of the biological processes that compose and sustain the earth s
ecosystem (Logan 52). Within the ecology article, Logan orates the basic premises of
an ecological interpretation which include that all forms of life exist in co dependent
relationships, nature is lively rather than still, stability of nature depends on
assortment, and nature is fragile and limited. Pardot Kynes was an Imperial

within the Imperium and each had major events that shaped their beliefs. The first
was The followers of the Fourteen Sages and whose views are expressed in the
Commentaries and other literature produced by the Commision of Ecumencial

Much that was called religion carries an unconscious attitude of hostility toward
life. True religion must teach that life is filled with joys pleasing to the eye of
God, that knowledge without action is empty. All men must see that the teaching of
religion by rules and rote is largely a hoax. The proper teaching is recognized with
ease. You can know it without fail because it awakens within you that sensation that
tells you this is something you ve always known (Dune 818). One of the largest
symbols of religion within the novel is the Muad Dib which ended up being Paul
Atreide. The Muad Dib is essentially a prophet which was in accordance with the

Firoozeh Dumas The F Word Analysis
The F Word by, Firoozeh Dumas, is about how ethnic people with hard or ethnic
names can be mistreated and mispronounce. When she came to America many kids
and teachers would mispronounce her name and they would sometimes shorten it
to make it easier. In the fifth grade she wanted to change her name to be more
American to be able to fit in. She changes her name to Julie which people actually
remember. People and kids remembered her name and her life became simpler.
Although people though she was American and not Irian some people would call
bad name to those who are Irian. She went back to using her real name in college
but once she graduated she was being rejected in jobs even though she graduated at

Persuasive Essay On Drinking And Driving
When alcohol is present, people enjoy it whether it is out having a good time with
others or alone in the comfort of their own home. In contrast, people abuse alcohol
to numb pain or emotion they are feeling at that moment. People portray they know
their limit when it comes to alcohol, and think that after a couple of drinks they are
fine to drive, which they are not. Drinking and driving is against the law, and it is
the cause of more car accidents or deaths in today s time period. If people are
involved in a drunk drivingaccident, more times or not the survivors are those who
drank rather than those who did not. The photograph I observed is an ad by
Toyota; there are three handicap parking spaces with handicap symbols doing
something different. The stick figured person remains the same sitting position,
but there are small changes in the setting in each parking spot. With the images as
handicap parking spots sets the tone of the seriousness of drinking and driving
because people who do such a thing result in injuring innocent people whose
lifestyle will change temporarily or permanently. Accidents are not planned, but
they are preventable. People blame alcohol for unrecalled actions they did, or
choices they made. A careless decision of drinking and driving will lead to
consequences such as a DUI, death, or becoming handicap. Instead of taking the
initiative to drive after consuming alcohol, people to plan ahead of time to get to
the next destination, rather than put themselves and others in danger. Drinking
alcohol gets the body loose, interferes with vision and speech impairment. People
could say alcohol boosts up a person s confidence to rendezvous with others. In the
first parking spot, the handicap image is sitting in a chair having a single drink.
There is not more than one drink in the first parking spot, so this shows that it only
takes one drink to cause a car accident. Though the image shows one drink in the
person s hand, near the top left of the parking spot lays multiple tin barrels. The
barrels could represent a party took place at a residence, or a tailgate party in a
parking lot was held with kegs full of alcohol. It is a possibility that Toyota wants to
make people believe that it only

way he is now. With nature implicating struggles on that buck it will be forced to

Does Brutus Love Portia
At first, it appears that Portia and Brutus have a combative marriage. The readers
first meet Portia in Act II, scene I, page 11, line 242. She is up in the wee hours of
the morning to confront Brutus about his odd behavior. The way Brutus reacts to
Portia at first may seem hostile and discriminating; however, this is not the case. The
reader can see that Brutus truly loved Portiaas an equal to himself because Brutus is
guarding his secret to protect Portia, and they re relationship is much different from
that of Caesar and Calpurnia s.
Brutus truly loved Portia as an equal to himself because he refuses to tell Portia
what is troubling him, in order to protect her. In the play, Brutus tries to convince
Portia that he is simply sick and that she should go back to bed and not worry (act
II, scene I, page 12, lines 265 and 268). Portia later proclaims that if she is strong
enough to bear a self inflicted stab wound, then she can handle what is weighing
on Brutus s mind. Brutus proceeds to wonder aloud how he is worthy of such a
noble wife (act II, scene I, page 13, lines 310 313). Readers can see that Brutus
loves his wife as an equal to himself because he wants Portia to go back to sleep for
the safety of her own health. When Portia stabs herself, Brutus does not react angrily
or even frightened. He recognizes that this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Women married for money and protection not for love. An example of that kind of
marriage is Caesar and Calpurnia s marriage (act II, scene II, page 3, lines 50 56).
Due to the fact that Brutus and Portia lived during this time period, many may think
that their relationship is like everyone else s; however, this is not the case. Brutus
tells Portia that she is truly dear to him, and that she is an honorable and noble wife
(act II, scene I, page 13, lines 296 and 313). Brutus truly loved Portia as an equal to
himself, and this is apparent throughout their conversation

I think Chaplin went with sound because he wanted to get in dept with what he
was saying. I think the speech sound is that he get louder and ge get emotional
about what he is talking about. He is easily considered one of the most important
figures in industries, with a career that spanned more than 75 years. I think he was
great, he was trying to show that he was getting so emotional. He felt sad because
he thought that some people didn t believe what he was saying was true. He want
people to take his word in life and use it to let your life be better. Chaplin was the
that comedies to create a show for the little kids to have fun to watch. He made
over a decade after he made his first sound. He was frequently trying to attempted
the Nazis comedy. Him and the Nazis had a refusal to accept anything other than
joke. Chaplin exposes his feeling by bursting and swollen his bubble of meanful
words. He was giving this message because they wanted him to feel famous to
everyone. This explain that he know what he talking about. He really want people
to listen to what he is talking about because it s really important to him.I think that
he is scared to talk.He like to help everyone. The issue of the film is when the
barber is given the opportunity to speak to the people of the two warring countries as
the dictator. . In fact, Charlie Chaplin felt that this would twist his message and
eventually his success would fall apart.

The Perception Of A Child With Adhd In Don Delillo s

You re thirteen years old. Back in middle school (aka the good ol days ) when your
teacher lectures on and on about dangling modifiers or equilateral triangles.
Naturally, you lose interest and begin to look around at all of the colorful
laminated posters stuck to the wall with that blue goop. Your mind begins to
wander, you shake your leg to keep you alert with the occasional pencil drumstick
solo. To some, this is an example of how we all acted as a child. To others, this is
an example of a child with ADHD. We have all sat in that 13 year old s shoes and

Satirical novels such as Delillo s piece act as a medium to reflect on the defects of
America at that time and how similar those events are to current issues. I aim to
contribute to the growing conversation of the faults of America s quick paced
lifestyle and how the media caters to that. While I understand that these illnesses
have the ability to actually hinder someone s day to day life, I believe that doctors
and parents are all too quick to diagnose and seek medical treatment. My plan of
action is to show the benefits of stopping to take a deep breath, listening to your
children, and observing that this behavior stems from a deeper issue: fear. In Don
Delillo s White Noise, a constant fear of chronic illness and dependency on
medication mimics our society s increasingly hypochondriacal behaviors, which leads
to a withstanding social commentary piece, acting as a warning to current and future
An Influential Key Player Within The Real Estate Industry...
1.Introduction
CapitaLand has been an influential key player within the real estate industry with a
diversified portfolio from homes to mixed apartment leveraging on its expertise in
industry knowledge and financing capabilities. In recent years, opportunities within
the Asia Pacific region, particularly Singapore, has grown impressively due to
motivational factors such as increased travel with cheaper options made available
from budget airlines and global events Formula One Night Race and Youth Olympic
Games (CapitaLand, 2014).
In Vietnam, projects such as The Vista Verde, ParcSpring apartments (HCM) and
Mulberry Lane Apartments (Hanoi), Vista Verde project in District 2 would be
projected as a world class and a large scale project to continue to assert the brand and
name the investors CapitaLand.
As a result, CapitaLand is determined to set aside a hundred million as an initial
investment capital in financing a project to be built within Singapore.
1.1 Goals
Unlike our competitors, CapitaLand is focused to differentiate its product by offering
a unique conceptual hotel with a sole purpose of housing only international students
offering amenities such as tutoring agency, clinic and food businesses within the
building to cater to these students daily needs. Once the hotel residence is built,
CapitaLand targets revenue to cover 20% of its costs.
While Vista Verde s design is expected to focus on small and medium families;

This was a cross sectional study done to determine the relationship of 1,2
Dichloropropane (1,2 DCP) and cholangiocarcinoma in Japanese men working in a
printing company. The researchers took men who had developed the disease already,
compared their liver and bile duct samples to those of healthy individuals, and found
some noticeable differences in those who were more exposed to 1,2 DCP. They had
a test group of 8 men with cholangiocarcinoma and a control group of 13 human
livers from autopsy files in order to do an immunohistochemical analysis to determine
the effects of 1,2 DCP on the genes and proteins. They chose the sample that they did

The extent of the GST T1 1 expressions differ from person to person. Hardly any
normal human samples had the expression for CYP2E1. Comparing the diseased
human livers to those of the control group, the test group had similar expressions of
GST T1 1. None of the test group samples showed an expression for the gene
CYP2E1. For the test group, there was the dominant presence of a marker of DNA
double strand break, Оі H2AX. For the control group, less than half of the liver
samples displayed this marker. It was clear that those who were exposed to 1,2 DCP
had more of an expression of this DNA marker in their non neoplastic biliary
epithelial cells of the large bile duct than those in the control group with no
exposure to 1,2 DCP. Those livers which had been exposed to 1,2 DCP had signs
of a tumor protein in their cells and bile ducts called p53. This study is extremely
difficult to read if it is something you are not used to. The researchers are assuming
that you know all of the concepts which made this especially difficult to comprehend.
Also, there may not have been enough liver and bile duct samples to make a
definitive claim of the relationship between 1,2 DCP and cholangiocarcinoma. The
researchers were extremely thorough and did not have to spend too much time
searching for the affected men or the healthy livers which saved time and money for

What Is The Purpose Of The Alchemist By Paulo Coelho
Paulo Coelho does not use any actual places or times in his book, The Alchemist
because it takes away from the moral and purpose of the story and uses typical
situations to make it hard to pinpoint the time period. A reader can find men
walking hand in hand (Coelho 36) in the book as well. He adds that into the story
because it has happened since the beginning of time so there is even more mystery
to the time period of the series of events. The story that Melchizedek tells the boy
is about what the wisest of wise men told a boy who came to see him. The wisest
of wise men told the boy to take a spoon full of oil and to let any of the oil out of
the spoon while he went throughout the man s castle. The boy came back and the

Reflection On Community-Based Human Service
Organizations
Community based human services organizations are essential in addressing human
service needs and often provide assistance in instances of crisis. These agencies are
involved with entities such as domestic violence shelters, job training, employment
programs, child care centers, foster care, child protection, prisoner reentry and day
programs for seniors and the developmentally and intellectually disabled (Norris
Tirrell, 2014). These services are often play pivotal roles in promotion of the overall
quality of life for the vulnerable individuals and communities that are served. Non
profit human service organizations have historically been challenged during times of
economic down turn; to find or maintain adequate funding (Mosely, Maronick,...

consolidate jobs and reduce workforce across the board or to close a center. Laying
off a couple of individual employees would not be ideal but it would affect less
people than closing an office that serves entire communities. There is also the
potential to allow employees whose jobs do not have to be in a dedicated office to

The Use Of Satire In Jon Stewart s The Daily Show
Satire is the use of humor and or sarcasm to expose bigger issues. Jon Stewart
addresses topics through his talk show on the Daily Show. He brings up important
arguments that are going on in our country and shows how ridiculous they are by
his use of humor. Through his political influence and controversial work, Jon
Stewart renewed the success of The Daily Show with his unusual use of satire that
connected with the younger generation. Before Stewart made his big break on the
Daily Show, he was a stand up comedian doing all shows that he could. This led
him to the network, Comedy Central, with his own show called The Jon Stewart

Daily Show, the proposal was outstanding and could not be passed up. Stewart
offered the show a faultless new outlook on comedy that Kilborn could not bring,

on the Daily Show, Marc Peyser and Sarah Childress from Newsweek wrote, The

the falsification of historical events for the benefit of the party. However, Winston

article will seek to convey and articulate if climate change has affected the rise of
ocean levels, and if so what are the detrimental affects on coastal communities. This
article will also reveal what specific regions and events that are happening that are
elevating ocean level rise. The objective of this research article is to inform people
about the plight that humanity has found itself in and how to prevent ecological

Climate Change Due to the immense anthropogenic release of green house carbon
emissions into the atmosphere, there has been and will be major detrimental
effects on human resources and the ecosystem. For example, by the middle of the
21stcentury, River runoff will increase by 40% in northern latitudes and also in a
few tropical areas, while in dry regions it will decrease by 30%. Some of these
tropical areas have already reported and are experiencing water droughts that will
only get worse (Gillman 2008). In addition, if temperatures continue to increase to
1.8 5.4 degrees, food productivity and resources will be affected. When the
temperatures reach the lower latitudes of what is predicted, there will be a slight
increase in food productivity for a little while. However, when the temperatures reach
the higher end of the latitudes, food productivity will

Literary Analysis Of The Telephone By Maya Angelou
The poem I chose to perform for the choral reading project is The Telephone by
Maya Angelou. This poem is about a woman waiting for her phone to ring while
all of her neighbors are constantly getting phone calls. The poem has a calm tone
throughout while at the end it becomes extremely angry. The speaker remains the
same throughout the poem, a woman waiting for her phone to ring. However, the
work has an underlying theme of jealousy, as the speaker seeks the phone calls that
her neighbors get. In the performance of this poem the performers made some
choices in order to emphasize the meaning of the poem. The first choice made in
the choral reading regards the tone of the poem. In the first three stanzas the
speaker speaks slowly and calmly. The performer did this in order to emphasize
the emotion that the speaker feels while waiting for the phone to ring, and how
drawn out it feels, which she expresses in the line From Monday, the morning of
the week, / through mid times / noon and Sunday s dying / light. (Angelou 16 19).
In this line she expresses that she has been waiting for the phone to ring forever, so
the readers chose a slow pace to read the poem. At the end of the poem there is a
shift with the line Ring. Damn you! where the tone suddenly becomes angry (24).
For this line the performers chose to scream ot loudly after a pause to represent the
pent up rage and angerthe speaker has towards the phone that won t ring. In the
performance the readers chose to begin with a slow and calm voice and to end with
a loud, screaming voice to represent the tone of the poem.
The next choice made for the performance is to have gestures. The first gesture has
to do with the lines In red and chaperons my life. / Sitting like a strict which
personifies the phone, and where the performer picks up the phone and then put it
down on the word sitting (3 4). The phone is picked up and looked at to represent
the longing for the call and then put down to convey that the call did not come. The
next gesture comes with the lines It tats the day, crocheting / other people s lives / in
neat arrangements / ignoring me where Hannah picks up the phone, wraps the cord
around her arm, detangles it, and then puts the phone
Tim Burton Cinematic Techniques Analysis
Many people have wondered about Director Tim Burton s movies and how come they
have a childlike innocence. Burton uses different cinematic techniques to create a
peculiar, and childlike innocent mood. Some of these cinematic techniques are,
lighting, sound and camera movements..
Burton used many different lighting techniques throughout all of the movies he
directed. For example, Tim Burton uses a mix of high key and low key lighting in
the cookie factory flashback scene. In the background during this flashback, it is
dark, and the machines are well lit and the audience can see the machines very
clearly. When the inventor walks in, he has warm and bright lighting showing his
facial expressions and his actions. The mood that the viewers might get from this
scene, is most probably going to be happy. When Burton added in this scene, he
meant to make the lighting the way it is to make the very eerie or spooky castle,
less spooky and eerie . Seeing the inventor happy, might make ... Show more content

Burton uses sound in many ways, and it s mainly to create a certain mood and tone
for that scene. The non diegetic sound creates the mood of each scene, for example,
during the opening of Edward Scissorhands , the music starts out as heavenly, then
proceeds to transition into ghastly music and foreshadows that something has gone
wrong. Something has happened and now the inventor has passed away. Kind of like
in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory , the oompa loompas start to sing every time
one of the children are taken away. Why? Because it s foreshadowing that the child
has gone wrong, is spoiled and disobeys almost everything and anything their parents
say. This technique is a different way to show viewers boring facts and turn them into
interesting facts, to make viewers want to watch again. Burton uses sound in many
ways, and he does it to create tone, mood and to show the emotions of current actors
Burial Customs In America Essay
According to an article submitted to the Berkeley Planning Journal, approximately
800,000 gallons of formaldehyde is buried in the United States every year. To put the
amount of this hazardous chemical that Americans use to bury their people in
perspective, it is enough to fill one and a quarter Olympic sized swimming pools
each year (Calderone). Unfortunately, this is only one of the many issues that is
hurting the environment and has arised from modern burials. Because of the negative
environmental effects that modern burial customs are causing, Americans should
switch back to natural burials in order to decrease the impact that modern burial
practices have left on Earth. In antebellum America, burial customs were onced a
personal family issue. As custom, the families of early Americans were expected to

Up until the Civil War, Gary Laderman, the Professor of American Religious
History and Cultures at Emory University, explains that, ...most Americans had no
knowledge of the [preserving] procedure and abhorred any unnatural intervention

natural decaying process in order to have sufficient time to identify their loved
ones who lost their lives during the war.. Because transportation in the mid 1800 s
is nowhere near as good as modern transportation, families had to wait several days,
even weeks, to receive the body of their loved one. Therefore, the Civil War was
responsible for the emergence of the embalming process in the United States. In the
1850 s, Dr. Thomas Holmes had experimented with the French method of arterial
embalming and soon created his own embalming fluid to which he was then hired to
embalm the corpses of dead Union officers (Kelly). As a result of the growing
popularity of embalming, Laderman explains that the number of undertakers was
Judaism Truly Value The Culture Of Non Violence
The wolf shall lie with the lamb and the leopard with the kid. Isaiah 11:6. One of the
more commonly known verses from the Hebrew bible. There are many verses such as
this that express the longing for a culture without violence that is attributed to the
ethical values of Judaism. Upon further research including an ethnographic study it
was clear that followers of Judaism truly value the culture of non violence. It is these
ethicsand values within the Judaistic tradition for the development of non violence
that are invaluable for contemporary society as they help to create a safer civilisation.
Firstly, the Torah or Hebrew bible has many different examples and teachings on
violence, non violence, punishment and war (Freeman, 2015). Isaiah 2:4 states
He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They
will beat their swords into ploughshares And their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.
The thirst for a world without violence is clearly portrayed in this passage and it
appears to reflect one of the strongest values of Judaism. However in Joel 4:9 10
this idiom is reused in a far more barbaric manner (Heft, 2004). Announce this to the
nations: Proclaim a holy war! Alert the warriors! Let all the soldiers report and
march! Beat your ploughshares into swords, and your pruning knives into spears;
Let the weakling boast, I am a warrior! Of these passages, which shows
Analysis Of Jon Krakauer s Into The Wild
Jack Sellas Period 2 ERWC Cagley December 9, 2014 Life on the Road? In Jon
Krakauer s Into the Wild, A young man named Chris McCandless decides to escape
the annoyance of his current life and live on the road, he pursues an incredible
journey of adventure, danger and companionship. McCandless is a narcissist and
believes that he can overcome any challenges that he faces because he is
independent and is smarter than the average person. Krakauer emphasizes that
arrogance will lead to failure in life; Just like McCandless believed everything was
going to work it ultimately caused his death. He directs his message to any
adventurers seeking to begin a journey on the road. If one is focused and clear
minded they will survive and experience a life changing pilgrimage, if one is
egotistic and unorganized they will encounter a fatal tragedy. Krakauer s message
relates to his own personal experience, John Waterman s climb, Gene Rosellini s
experiment and my own personal experience with my friends. Krakauer and
McCandless both share a common interest for adventure and living on the road,
however their approach to these interests is much different. McCandless ventured
out to pursue his dreams with no experience living on the road; however he had
high expectations for a life changing experience. His motivation for doing this was
too escape his parent s ignorance and to detach himself from society in order to
restart his life and begin something new. It was his time to measure himself
The Elaborate Inheritance Of Chad Deity Essay
Kristoffer Diaz s play, The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, is a play that
revolves around a character named Mace, and his career as a wrestler in The
Wrestling league, as Diaz so refers to the American Wrestling Association within

during World War I in Nazi Germany. He was disgusted by the world around him,
as he witnessed many of his friends sent off to die in the war. Because of Brecht s
opinions on the world around him, he negatively viewed the classical form of
theater, what he called dramatic theater , and created a new idea of theater known as
epic theater . I believe Kristoffer Diaz s play, The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity,

inequality based on racial demographics, specifically within the category of people
of color . Mace is from Mexico, and is racially profiled as such in both his character
on set and within the play itself as his wrestling character. He and VP, an Indian

wrestling presented is representative of the United States and the degradation of
people of color especially immigrants. At the end of the play, Mace opposes his

their battles, as he is to never win a match, even in his finishing match he is still

The Relationship Between Bivariate Correlations And
Linear...
The data has been graphed in previous studies (Lauristen Hiemer, 2009); however,
authors have stated that future research will benefit from tests of statistical
significance (Lauristen Hiemer, 2009). Bivariate correlations and linear regression
are common methods of estimating association between variables, linear trend
(slope), and statistical significance in time seriesdata (Baumer Lauristen, 2010;
Hashima Finkelhor, 1999; Lauristen, Rezey Heimer, 2013).
The many caveats associated with time series data, trend analysis, and linear
regression were accounted for preliminary to analysis. It is common for time series
data to be highly auto correlated and thus contain residuals lacking independence
(Asteriou Hall, 2011). The Durbin Watson statistic was used to confirm residual
correlation was not problematic for reported findings (Fields, 2005). Data normality,
linearity, homoscedasticity, and presence of outliers were assessed by evaluation of
skewness and kurtosis, the Shapiro Wilks test, and visual inspection of plots (West,
Finch, Curran ,1995).
Multicolinearity, often difficult to overcome in time series data (Asteriou Hall,
2011), was assessed through insuring bivariate correlations of independent variables
were less than .9 in strength, variance inflation factor values did not exceed 10, and
tolerance levels were above .10 (Tabachnick Fidell, 2001). Spurious regression is
possible with non stationary data or when two variables are trending overtime.
The Importance Of Chinese Culture
The country I would like to teach in would be in China, specifically Shenzhen.
Chinese culture is vast and unique and has been changed through many factors
throughout history. Mainland China is a beautiful place right next to to the equally
beautiful Hong Kong. Shenzhen itself has been influenced by western culture just
like Hong Konghas, but with its roots in the mainland, it still maintains its policies
and traditions. It s culture can be considered a hybrid of both Mainland and Hong
Kong Chinadue to proximity.
In China, there s the culture you see on the surface and the culture you see below
the surface. There are many real world lifestyle differences that can be perceived
and even more that must be experienced. When moving to China, you will first
encounter surface level cultural differences, some of which being population
density and dress expectations. Population in China is vastly different and much
denser than the U.S. or most places in the world for that matter. China has over 160
cities with a population of over 1 million as stated by the University of Missouri,
Kansas City. In China, dressing is much different as well, clothing styles that would
be considered the norm in America can be considered taboo in China. In the U.S.
showing some skin is perfectly acceptable due to the general agreement body
confidence is good. But if you wear something revealing (e.g. a crop top), it comes
with a very negative connotation, people asssuming your in a lucrative
What Is The Value Of The Motion Picture Industry
It is no surprise to know that there has been an increase in interest towards the motion
picture industry. Largely because the motion picture industry has become a
significant source of revenue in many countries. Thousands of movies are made each
year, and they total to billions of dollars in revenue. For example, in 2006, more than
3,000 movies were in theaters totaling to $23.8 billion in revenue. Motion pictures are
also instrumental in shaping worldwide impressions of a country s intellectual,
historical, and cultural environment. In this paper, my objective is to address certain
issues pertaining to the motion picture industry, specifically its value chain, the
competitive landscape, the notion of net profit, cost allocation considerations, and the
key elements to consider when conducting a cost variance analysis. The value chain
of the motion picture industry consists of three stages production, distribution, and
exhibition then it finally arrives for the consumption, where the audiences can see the
final product. As the saying goes it takes a village in each of these stages to get the
motion picture to consumers, but it is no easy task to make a motion picture. There
are four phases involved before, during, and after the production stage: development,
pre production, production, and post production. In the development phase, the
producer acquires intellectual property. There is no particular order in which this is
done, but the producer needs to purchase the rights to make the film, acquire a
screenwriter, and obtain initial financing. This is easier for major studios, because
hiring well known screenwriters, actors and actresses, as well as the director, makes
it easier to obtain financing. Independent studios, on the other hand, have a limited
budgeted and are only able to show a preview for major or subsidiary studios.
Then the studio decision makers determine whether the film will be successful and
compare it to other films. They also develop a scenario analysis of potential box
office revenues and determine if they should move forward with the film. Films are
only given the green light once the executives are satisfied with the predicted
probability, and once they secure financing.

in his time, but that only scratches the surface of how and what he did to change
the world. Leo Tolstoy changed the world by starting schools which allowed
peasants to get an education, influencing leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Martin
Luther King Jr., and changed the world through his writings. Leo Tolstoy was a
Russian author who was born September 9, 1828 at Yasnaya Polyana, Russia and
died of pneumonia in the winter of 1910. Today Tolstoy is buried at his Yasnaya
Polyana estate in Russia. Both of his parents died when he was just a child, and he

Leo Tolstoy also started schools for peasant children. The peasants were like
Tolstoy s second family. Tolstoy realized how important a good education is and
wanted to make it available to the peasants who, being the lower class, wouldn t
normally get any education. Tolstoy believed that education was a necessity, and
that everyone should have a right to it. So when the local peasants were declined
that right, he felt the need to fix it. He took it upon himself to make a good
education available to anyone and everyone. He started his first school for
underprivileged children at his home, Yasnaya Polyana. Tolstoy wrote this in his
article about popular education, I could write whole books about the ignorance that
I witnessed in the schools of France, Switzerland, and Germany; Anyone who cares
about education should study schools not from the reports of public examinations,
but from extended visits and conversations with teachers and pupils in the schools
and outside the schools (http://www.sras.org/). He started up other schools as well.
He opened fourteen schools in all, but sadly none lasted. Eventually he was forced
to close down all of his schools due to other more important obligations such as
family and writing. Tolstoy started writing letters and notes to his family once he
joined the military. This writing eventually turned into a hobby and then a career.
Tolstoy wrote lots of literary works, most notable of which are, in no particular order,

Jack Kerouac and The Beat Generation Essay
Born to die
The Beat Generation, made up of writers, artists and misfits, was forged not long
after the end of World War II. People wanted change, the old ways and traditions
were slowly being neglected and social rules of that time were put into question. The
Beat Generation were the ones leading the way in questioning the old rules and
regulations not because they wanted to but because America wanted it. The Beat
Generation was a bohemian hipster like movement that got its drive and inspiration
from sexuality, drugs, booze, crazy people and situations and religions like
Christianity, Judaism and Buddhism. The Beat Generation embraced creativity
untouched by culture. These artists found inspiration in past and current art
movements like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Death is a phenomenon that many do not understand in America. America tells
many that life should be lived in a certain way in order to live life to its fullest
before death comes creeping along. Humans create this false pursuit of happiness
before they leave this world. It leaves many in fear of death. Religious beliefs teach
humans to embrace death. If that is the case, then why is it that citizens in north
America still fear death when living a happy life in a first world country. Jack
Kerouac is inspired to write spontaneously through his travels in Mexico because of
Tristessa s junk addiction and how she embraces death even though her life is
miserable. The romantic s wrote many poems about death and many artists from
that era embraced death because it evoked a high level of curiosity in humans.
Kerouac seems to embrace this notion too because it expresses an essential truth
about the human condition. He was inspired by a dove in Tristessa s house, Yet so
much like Tristessa s eyes that I wish I could comment and tell Tristessa: Thou hast
the dove s eyes. (Kerouac 26) the Dove represents the communication between the
two worlds and more importantly it represents peace of the deepest kind. It sooths
all our worries and troubled thoughts. It helps to appreciate the little things in life.
Kerouac wrote in spontaneous prose style at this moment in time because he was
captivated by the image of the dove in Tristessa s house looking over her
Measuring Density Lab
The purpose of this lab was to review the techniques for measuring mass and
volume. Also using raw data to calculate the density of each of the metal samples.
The final objective was to compare the density values with the values on the reference
tables and calculate percent error.
Introduction: 1.Matter can be classified as a pure substance or a mixture of other
substances. A pure substance could be either an element like carbon or a compound
like water. A mixture can be either a homogenous mixture like salt solution or
heterogeneous mixture like soil. Matter is also separated by extensive and intensive
properties.
2.A pure substance could be an element or a compound. A pure substance also has the
same properties and composition throughout it. IT is a collection of non similar

Unknown samples of a pure substance may be identified using the properties of that
substance by finding the density of that unknown sample or the boiling and melting
point of that sample and compare them to see if they are identical.
5.A physical property is a quality of a substance that can be observed or measured
without changing the substance s composition. An example of a physical property is
color and hardness. A chemical property is when a substance undergoes a chemical
change or reaction which change the identity of the substance. An example of a
chemical property would be heat of combustion.
6.Density is a characteristic property of a substance. Density is equal to the amount
of mass in a substance divided by the amount of volume of a substance. Density is
the relationship between mass of a substance and how much space it takes up which
is volume. Density is an intrinsic property. Mass and volume are both extrinsic on
their own but when put together in a ratio for density the number will remain
constant. It is important to understand the difference because it is easy to get mixed
up since it can be an either or

This is rather contradictory given the fact that Kerala produces a major proportion of
graduate and diploma nurses every year and most of the institutions that provide
nursing programs fare quite decently with regard to quality of education and training
facilities.
The study is aimed at understanding the different roles and responsibilities nursing
personnel carry out in a district health service system in the context of Kerala. This
will help to draw inferences upon what the nurses are expected to do legally and what
they actually do. These observations shall form the base upon which suggestions
regarding the rationalization of the professional practice can be made. With the
education and training nurses receive it would be highly beneficial for the health
system if their expertise is rightly tapped within the system.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Nurses if optimally utilized in the health care system can have a great impact in the
health outcomes of the population as well as on a larger note in bringing down the
cost of health care in a system. However nursing remains a largely unexplored area
when it comes to its actual utilization in India. The scenario remains largely the same,
perhaps marginally better when it comes to the public health care sector in Kerala.
There is a dire need to focus more on the comprehensive utilization of
School Dress Codes Fair
There is no guy that has ever said, Oh my god! That girl s shoulder is showing,
therefore it s impossible to do any of my school work. Many girls have been offended
by the school dress code for a long time now because they are usually sexist and only
directed towards girls. Many cases have been made against having a dress codeand
whether or not they are fair for everyone because of this. The school dress code is
not fair for girls because it body shames them and takes away their education.
Girls dress codes are fair because how people dress affects everyone, there is less
bullying, and there is more concentration on their educations. Firstly, boys and girls
can be distracted by another student s attire. In the article it says, Like an offensive ...

First, girl s can t wear certain things because they are considered sexual objects. In
the article says, Instead of body shaming girls and telling them they re responsible
for boy s actions we should be focusing on not turning females into sexual objects.
(source 7) This quote shows that girls all over the world are known as sexual
objects so they have to check what they can wear just so boys aren t distracted.
Secondly, when it s hot outside girls should be able to wear shorts but they have to
wear shorts but they have to wear jeans instead. In the article it says, Bodies are
not offensive. It s not unnatural for a girl to wear shorts on a hot day. What s
really unnatural is a girl being shamed into wearing pants against her wishes in
summer, no matter what her body size is. (source 2) This quote shows that girls
can t wear shorts even when it s obviously hot, making them uncomfortable
wearing jeans. Last, girl s are ruled by boys because boys think of girls as sexual
objects and get distracted by them. In the article it says, When teacher punish girls
for wearing clothes deemed too distracting for boys to handle, it teaches a damaging
lesson. (source 5) This quote shows that boys have the power over what girls can
wear making girls not feeling confident. Dress codes make girls feel unconfident and

Rhetorical Analysis of Coming to Our Senses
Equipped with our five senses, along with telescopes and microscopes and mass
spectrometers and seismographs and magnetometers and particle accelerators and
detectors across the electromagnetic spectrum, we explore the universe around us and

Neil deGrasse Tyson, an American astrophysicist, and director of the Hayden
Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History used this quote to clearly
express his idea in his writing Coming to Our Senses that we need technology with
our senses to fully explore the world. Neil deGrasse Tyson used many different types
of rhetorical devices to convince his thoughts to his audience.
Tyson being an astrophysicist made him more appealing to his audience because they

Kill Shelters And Animal Abuse
Kill shelters and animal abuse are a big problem in society. Animals are equal to
people and they should be treated just the same. Animals do not deserve to be
treated harshly and they also do not deserve to live in horrible conditions. I believe
that animals have as much of a right as humans do, to be free of labor. The reality
is that all shelters, regardless of label, euthanize or send pets out to be euthanized.
All pets have the right to live even if their owner returned them. Kill shelters are
not the best place to send your pets off to. Many people do feel sad about pets and
other animals who get euthanized even if they are not theirs. Animals have made a
big impact on many people, so why don t people make a great impact on them too?
The Vietnam War Was An Expensive And Fatal Conflict...
The Vietnam War was an expensive and fatal conflict between the North and South
Vietnam regions. The communist government from the north and their southern
allies, the Viet Cong, were heavily against South Vietnam and their benevolent allies,
the United States. The main purpose of the Vietnam War was to reassemble the
country of Vietnamunder the rule of communism. From the perspective of the Viet
Cong, the conflict against the South and United States seemed as a colonial strife.

In 1956, South Vietnam, along with the help of the Americans, rejected to host

Cong, were underway to clash with the South government of Vietnam. In an act to
help the South s government, the United States of America deployed 2,000 military
advisors, which later increased to 16,300 advisors in 1963. Due to the run down
military conditions, South Vietnam forfeited the high yielding Mekong delta to the
Viet Cong. Lyndon Johnson, the 36th U.S. president, intensified the war by calling
air strikes on North Vietnam in 1965 and sent ground troops in 1968. I shall not seek,
nor will I accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your president
(History.com). During the political campaign at the time, Johnson wanted to focus on
peace, but the conflict in Vietnam precipitated pain and distress to him during his last
month in the office, which caused him to call in artilleries and ground forces to
Vietnam. The Tet Offensive of 1968 by the Northern Vietnamese turned several
Americans against the conflict. Richard Nixon, the president after Johnson,
recommended Vietnamization, which removed American soldiers and gave South
Vietnam greater responsibilities to fight their own war. In the previous
administration, we Americanized the war in Vietnam. In this
Samsung Phones And Its Effect On Communication
My research question was Why do people 18 24 prefer to have an IPhone rather than
Samsung phones and what s is emoji s effect on communication. It is no secret that
IPhones are the dominate phone in the world, everywhere you turn you see an
IPhone. I did my research to figure out why this is, and what about IPhones are so
appealing where everyone has to have one. Me personally think that Samsung phones
are better than the IPhone, I think the IPhone is slightly overrated and Samsung
phone does everything the IPhone does but also have countless of more features. So
being that I own a Samsung I wanted to see why so many people like IPhone and the

My First Trip To Football
CARLISLE 28 EATON 20 USED ROSTERS FROM HUDL.COM
Last night my travels took me to Carlisle, Ohio to watch the hometown Indians host
the Eaton Eagles. This was my first trip to Carlisle and it would mark the first time
since the 2015 season, that I have watched the Indians. I would be seeing the Eagles
for the first time ever.
I expected a much larger crowd but as many times this season it was not the case, but
those who were there got to see a good competitive game, that was entertaining
especially from the defensive side of things.
The Indians defense would set the tone early in this one, when Daniel Smith teamed
up with teammate Gage Smith, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Heading into the second quarter this one looked very even, even though the Eagles
offense was yet to soar, while the Indians offense had shown a glimpse of going on
the warpath a couple of times.
Just twenty six seconds into the second quarter Moore fumble the ball and
scooping it up and going about fifty six yards for the score for the Eagles was Chip
Parker. Parker easily outran the offense, who looked like a fighter, who had just been
tagged by a Ali right cross. The point after kick was missed causing this to stay a 13 7
Eagles lead.
The Indians offense would work the ball down to the Eagles thirty four yard line
and from there Chambers electrified the crowd, with a Archie Griffin like run, back
when he was running for the buckeyes. The point after kick gave the Indians the
lead at 14 13, with 5:31left in the half. On the drive the Eagles defense again had
problems tackling and this really led to a lot of extra yards for the Indians.
With 3:41 it appeared their was pass interference on the Indians receiver, but the ref
said the ball was tipped before the interference happened and this led to a interception
by Moore on the pass thrown by Ryan Venable. This play really seem to change the
game and in my way of thinking the Eagles fought hard but never overcame this call.
Defense was big again, with :27 seconds left in the half, when Moore was taken
down by #54(Not on the Eagles roster)
The Invasion Of Rome
Cities: When Rome was created in Italy. The first and main city of Rome was
named Rome, it was named after the founder of Rome, Romulus. The geography of
Rome was a peninsula. Rome was vulnerable to attack because of its boot shaped
peninsula. The three sides of water made Rome vulnerable to attack ships which
Rome could not defend because of the limited about of ships in Rome s navy. One
advantage of Rome is the mountain ranges north of the city. This made it harder for
invaders to invade because they would have to cross the mountain or go around it.
Government: Rome had a large government that was split into three parts. This is
called a tripart government. the Romans decided to divide themselves into two
groups the rich and the
The Application Of New Technologies
The Application of New Technologies to Improve Business Communications
Technological advancements have the capacity to affect every aspect of the business
world. With an exponentially growing communications sector, new communication
technologies are constantly providing ways to improve and optimize business
correspondence. The business world clearly values tradition; over time, most core
business principles and methodology have remained the same. Business owners are
sometimes weary of experimenting with new communication technologies because it
is a blurred line between informal communication, and one that is simply quick and
efficient. The adoption of new technologies has the potential to vastly improve
business communications, saving businesses time and money, while promoting
lateral communications. These new technologies range from devices to apps , but
the focal points of this essay will be almost exclusively app related and cover a
couple emerging devices that are uniquely applicable to business environments.
The first application that is largely unused by businesses is Telegram. Telegram is
a new era messaging app, with many more unique capabilities than the commonly
used WhatsApp or iMessage. Telegram Messenger LLP is headquartered in Berlin,
and was launched in 2013 by Russian entrepreneur brothers Nikolai and Pavel
Durov. Telegram is available for download on a wide array of devices, including
iPhones, Androids, Windows Mobile, Mac computers, Windows PC s, and a

Strengths And Weakness Of Writing For Nurses
The purpose of this paper is to promote the enhancement of one s writing skills
through recognition of various strengths and weaknesses. This heightened awareness
of one s self will promote appropriate interventions that may be warranted in order to
see changes in writing proficiency.
Strengths and Weakness of Writingfor Nurses
As a nurse, one is more experienced in documenting objective assessments and
evidenced based interventions (Diehl, 2007). Registered nurses are accomplished
with shorthand writing style that one may have forgotten how to analytically write.
An integral skill that this nurse has utilized since undergraduate years is the ability to
draft ideas prior to initiating any written pieces. Creating a rough draft allows a
person to liberally compose and put thoughts into perspective. A stronger thesis is
formulated by evaluating the correlation of the claims with the main point, while
eliminating any unnecessary redundancies.
An additional strength this nurse possesses is the ability to include affirmative data
to support all assertions. Evidence that is congruent with the premise provides sound
reasoning for readers to comprehend. The audience might be more susceptible to
accept the author s view point if the evidence behind it is logical (Hacker Sommers,
2015, p. 100). In addition, countering standpoints have a place in one s writing piece.
By introducing a conflicting position, this adds credibility to the argument since it
shows the audience that the

Essay Structure Introduction

  • 1. Essay Structure Introduction Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay Structure Introduction" can be a challenging task, as it requires a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in crafting a compelling introduction. The difficulty lies in striking the right balance between capturing the reader's attention and providing a clear roadmap for the rest of the essay. One of the challenges is finding an engaging hook that not only sparks interest but also aligns with the overall theme of the essay. Crafting a thesis statement that succinctly conveys the main idea while leaving room for exploration further adds to the complexity. The introduction should also seamlessly transition into the body of the essay, setting the stage for the in-depth analysis that follows. Moreover, achieving coherence and cohesion in the introduction is vital. Each sentence should contribute to the overall flow of ideas, avoiding any abrupt shifts that may confuse the reader. Striking the right tone and maintaining a formal yet engaging style further complicates the writing process. Additionally, considering the diverse nature of essay topics and the need for customization, tailoring the introduction to fit the specific subject matter poses an additional challenge. Balancing creativity with academic rigor is crucial, as an overly elaborate introduction may detract from the essay's scholarly credibility. In conclusion, writing an essay on the intricacies of structuring introductions demands a thorough understanding of rhetorical strategies, coherence, and the ability to tailor the content to the specific essay topic. It is a task that requires time, effort, and careful consideration to create an introduction that captivates the reader while effectively paving the way for the subsequent discussion. They can grow to be 7.25 to 8 feet tall and can weigh around 900 to 1,600 pounds. Polar bears are a keystone species, if their numbers decrease there is a possibility that the seal populations will increase which could be devastating for crustaceans and fish. • 4. Galileo Galilei And The Modern Experimental Method Galileo Galilei was born in Pisa, Italy on February 15, 1564. His father, Vincenzio Galilei, was a musician whose originality and polemic talents fomented a revolution uniting practice and theory in music much as Galileo was to unite them in science. I Galileo is credited with establishing the modern experimental method in a time when most progress made by scientists and thinkers was based on hypotheses alone. He began the practice of testing scientific theories by preforming experiments and observing the results. Receiving his early education at a monastery near Florence, in 1581 Galileo entered the University of Pisa to study medicine, later devoting himself to mathematics. However, through his experiments he did eventually prove that all objects fall at the same rate, regardless of weight. From 1602 to 1609 Galileo continued to study speeds of falling objects, including pendulums. He studied these objects as they moved in arcs and along inclines and developed the law of uniform acceleration, which would later help Isaac Newton derive the law of gravity.VIII Overtime, Galileo would contribute many works and discoveries to the field of science, and is often referred to as the Father of Modern Science because of this. In 1593, Galileo invented an early thermometer, which became one of the first instruments for measuring used in science. It was crude and worked by having a pocket of air that expanded or contracted based on the temperature which, in turn, moved a column of water up or down.IX Later in 1609, he made improvements on Hans Lippershey s telescope, which landed him a lifetime appointment to the University of Venice.X Using this improved telescope, Galileo made new discoveries about the heavenly bodies of our solar system and galaxy. In 1610 he observed that Venus went through light and dark phases much like our moon, and concluded that this was because Venus also reflected the Sun s light. Looking at the Sun itself, he discovered that it had dark spots and that these sunspots changed in position

  • 7. E. B. Priestley s My Novel NANO WRIMO GRADES Ever attempted to write an exquisite, quality novel? Well I have, and I put my transcendent efforts toward the novel. This includes an outstanding performance in my characters, plotline, and setting. However, intermittently I reminisce on former events in my novel. I have come to comprehend the fact that not everything that I have recorded in my novel is completely professional and well developed. As I construe my novel, I realize that I may not deserve the grade that I had originally anticipated. Most people accord to themselves a much more sophisticated grade then they may have earned. Others may potentially grant themselves a much less desired score. After a stretched period of brainstorming and research, I believe I know for certain what grade I deserve for my characters, setting, and plot. To begin, I conclude that I have acquired the score of developing for the characters category. First, all my essential character have a background that is precisely expressed. The main character in my novel (Trip) is a homeless orphan who is desperate for a loving family. Throughout this emotional story, mass background is provided for him, and other characters he reconciles with along the way. Every now and then, information is provided about his parent s past. In these explanatory flashbacks, the reader will learn supplementary information about the antagonist is exposed. Also, the characters in my novel are exclusive. They are all individual in their own unique

The Book Of Psalms If the book of Psalms be, as some have styled it, a mirror or looking glass of pious and devout affections, this psalm in particular deserves, as much as any one psalm, to be so entitled, and is as proper as any to kindle and excite such in us: gracious desires are here strong and fervent; gracious hopesand fears, joys and sorrows, are here struggling, but the pleasing passion comes off a conqueror. When he was debarred from his outward opportunities of waiting on God, when he was banished to the land of Jordan, a great way off from the courts of God s house. Note, Sometimes God teaches us effectually to know the worth of mercies by the want of them, and whets our appetite for the means of grace by cutting us short in those means. We are apt to loathe that manna, when we have plenty of it, which will be very precious to us if ever we come to know the scarcity of it. (2.) When he was deprived, in a great measure, of the inward comfort he used to have in God. He now went mourning, but he went on panting. Note, If God, by his grace, has wrought in us sincere and earnest desires towards him, we may take comfort from these when we want those ravishing delights we have sometimes had in God, because lamenting after God is as sure an evidence that we love him as rejoicing in God. Before the psalmist records his doubts, and fears, and griefs, which had sorely shaken him, he premises this, That he looked upon the living God as his chief good, and had set his heart upon him accordingly, and was resolved to live and die by him; and,

Serial killers are usually young, white males who are quite intelligent and often come from broken homes. His first assignment was to lead an audit of Johnsonville Trucks. He was quite pleased with the five accountants who had been assigned to his team, especially Zeke Olds. Olds was an Army vet who returned to school to get a double major in accounting and computer sciences. He was on top of the latest developments in financial information systems and had a reputation for coming up with innovative solutions to problems. During the last five years, only 20 percent of account managers at M M had been promoted to partner. However, once a partner, they were virtually guaranteed the position for life and enjoyed significant increases in salary, benefits, and prestige. M M had a reputation for being a results driven organization; partner promotions were based on meeting deadlines, retaining clients, and generating revenue. The promotion team based its decision on the relative performance of the account manager in comparison to his or her cohorts. One week into the Johnsonville audit, Palmer received a call from Sands to visit her office. There he was introduced to Ken Crosby, who recently joined M M after working nine years for a Big 5 accounting firm. Crosby was recruited to manage special consulting projects. Sands reported that Crosby had just secured a major consulting project with Springfield Metals. This was a major coup for the firm: M M had competed against two Big 5 accounting firms for the project. Sands went on to explain that she was working with Crosby to put together his team. Crosby insisted that Zeke Olds be assigned to his team. Sands told him that this would be impossible because Olds was already assigned to work on the Johnsonville audit. Crosby persisted, arguing that

  • 16. Persuasive Essay On Drinking And Driving When alcohol is present, people enjoy it whether it is out having a good time with others or alone in the comfort of their own home. In contrast, people abuse alcohol to numb pain or emotion they are feeling at that moment. People portray they know their limit when it comes to alcohol, and think that after a couple of drinks they are fine to drive, which they are not. Drinking and driving is against the law, and it is the cause of more car accidents or deaths in today s time period. If people are involved in a drunk drivingaccident, more times or not the survivors are those who drank rather than those who did not. The photograph I observed is an ad by Toyota; there are three handicap parking spaces with handicap symbols doing something different. The stick figured person remains the same sitting position, but there are small changes in the setting in each parking spot. With the images as handicap parking spots sets the tone of the seriousness of drinking and driving because people who do such a thing result in injuring innocent people whose lifestyle will change temporarily or permanently. Accidents are not planned, but they are preventable. People blame alcohol for unrecalled actions they did, or choices they made. A careless decision of drinking and driving will lead to consequences such as a DUI, death, or becoming handicap. Instead of taking the initiative to drive after consuming alcohol, people to plan ahead of time to get to the next destination, rather than put themselves and others in danger. Drinking alcohol gets the body loose, interferes with vision and speech impairment. People could say alcohol boosts up a person s confidence to rendezvous with others. In the first parking spot, the handicap image is sitting in a chair having a single drink. There is not more than one drink in the first parking spot, so this shows that it only takes one drink to cause a car accident. Though the image shows one drink in the person s hand, near the top left of the parking spot lays multiple tin barrels. The barrels could represent a party took place at a residence, or a tailgate party in a parking lot was held with kegs full of alcohol. It is a possibility that Toyota wants to make people believe that it only

To others, this is an example of a child with ADHD. We have all sat in that 13 year old s shoes and many of us still experience the symptoms of an active mind: thoughts wander and attention shifts. My plan of action is to show the benefits of stopping to take a deep breath, listening to your children, and observing that this behavior stems from a deeper issue: fear. In Don Delillo s White Noise, a constant fear of chronic illness and dependency on medication mimics our society s increasingly hypochondriacal behaviors, which leads to a withstanding social commentary piece, acting as a warning to current and future

Hardly any normal human samples had the expression for CYP2E1. Comparing the diseased human livers to those of the control group, the test group had similar expressions of GST T1 1. None of the test group samples showed an expression for the gene CYP2E1. For the test group, there was the dominant presence of a marker of DNA double strand break, Оі H2AX. For the control group, less than half of the liver samples displayed this marker. It was clear that those who were exposed to 1,2 DCP had more of an expression of this DNA marker in their non neoplastic biliary epithelial cells of the large bile duct than those in the control group with no exposure to 1,2 DCP. Those livers which had been exposed to 1,2 DCP had signs of a tumor protein in their cells and bile ducts called p53. This study is extremely difficult to read if it is something you are not used to. • 31. Literary Analysis Of The Telephone By Maya Angelou The poem I chose to perform for the choral reading project is The Telephone by Maya Angelou. This poem is about a woman waiting for her phone to ring while all of her neighbors are constantly getting phone calls. The poem has a calm tone throughout while at the end it becomes extremely angry. The speaker remains the same throughout the poem, a woman waiting for her phone to ring. However, the work has an underlying theme of jealousy, as the speaker seeks the phone calls that her neighbors get. In the performance of this poem the performers made some choices in order to emphasize the meaning of the poem. The first choice made in the choral reading regards the tone of the poem. In the first three stanzas the speaker speaks slowly and calmly. The performer did this in order to emphasize the emotion that the speaker feels while waiting for the phone to ring, and how drawn out it feels, which she expresses in the line From Monday, the morning of the week, / through mid times / noon and Sunday s dying / light. (Angelou 16 19). In this line she expresses that she has been waiting for the phone to ring forever, so the readers chose a slow pace to read the poem. At the end of the poem there is a shift with the line Ring. Damn you! where the tone suddenly becomes angry (24). For this line the performers chose to scream ot loudly after a pause to represent the pent up rage and angerthe speaker has towards the phone that won t ring. In the performance the readers chose to begin with a slow and calm voice and to end with a loud, screaming voice to represent the tone of the poem. The next choice made for the performance is to have gestures. The first gesture has to do with the lines In red and chaperons my life. / Sitting like a strict which personifies the phone, and where the performer picks up the phone and then put it down on the word sitting (3 4). The phone is picked up and looked at to represent the longing for the call and then put down to convey that the call did not come. The next gesture comes with the lines It tats the day, crocheting / other people s lives / in neat arrangements / ignoring me where Hannah picks up the phone, wraps the cord around her arm, detangles it, and then puts the phone

Unfortunately, this is only one of the many issues that is hurting the environment and has arised from modern burials. Because of the negative environmental effects that modern burial customs are causing, Americans should switch back to natural burials in order to decrease the impact that modern burial practices have left on Earth. There are many verses such as this that express the longing for a culture without violence that is attributed to the ethical values of Judaism. Upon further research including an ethnographic study it was clear that followers of Judaism truly value the culture of non violence. It is these ethicsand values within the Judaistic tradition for the development of non violence that are invaluable for contemporary society as they help to create a safer civilisation. Firstly, the Torah or Hebrew bible has many different examples and teachings on violence, non violence, punishment and war (Freeman, 2015). Isaiah 2:4 states He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into ploughshares And their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. The thirst for a world without violence is clearly portrayed in this passage and it appears to reflect one of the strongest values of Judaism. However in Joel 4:9 10 this idiom is reused in a far more barbaric manner (Heft, 2004). Announce this to the nations: Proclaim a holy war! Alert the warriors! Let all the soldiers report and march! Beat your ploughshares into swords, and your pruning knives into spears; Let the weakling boast, I am a warrior! Of these passages, which shows
  • 35. Analysis Of Jon Krakauer s Into The Wild Jack Sellas Period 2 ERWC Cagley December 9, 2014 Life on the Road? In Jon Krakauer s Into the Wild, A young man named Chris McCandless decides to escape the annoyance of his current life and live on the road, he pursues an incredible journey of adventure, danger and companionship. McCandless is a narcissist and believes that he can overcome any challenges that he faces because he is independent and is smarter than the average person. Krakauer emphasizes that arrogance will lead to failure in life; Just like McCandless believed everything was going to work it ultimately caused his death. He directs his message to any adventurers seeking to begin a journey on the road. If one is focused and clear minded they will survive and experience a life changing pilgrimage, if one is egotistic and unorganized they will encounter a fatal tragedy. Krakauer s message relates to his own personal experience, John Waterman s climb, Gene Rosellini s experiment and my own personal experience with my friends. Krakauer and McCandless both share a common interest for adventure and living on the road, however their approach to these interests is much different. McCandless ventured out to pursue his dreams with no experience living on the road; however he had high expectations for a life changing experience. His motivation for doing this was too escape his parent s ignorance and to detach himself from society in order to restart his life and begin something new. It was his time to measure himself

The Elaborate Inheritance Of Chad Deity Essay Kristoffer Diaz s play, The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, is a play that revolves around a character named Mace, and his career as a wrestler in The Wrestling league, as Diaz so refers to the American Wrestling Association within the play. Bertolt Brecht, a theatre practitioner, playwright, and poet, was a teenager during World War I in Nazi Germany. He was disgusted by the world around him, as he witnessed many of his friends sent off to die in the war. Because of Brecht s opinions on the world around him, he negatively viewed the classical form of theater, what he called dramatic theater , and created a new idea of theater known as epic theater . In the play by Kristoffer Diaz, the main injustice that is being focused on is on the inequality based on racial demographics, specifically within the category of people of color . Mace is from Mexico, and is racially profiled as such in both his character on set and within the play itself as his wrestling character. He and VP, an Indian character, represent two minority groups who are oppressed within America. The wrestling presented is representative of the United States and the degradation of people of color especially immigrants. At the end of the play, Mace opposes his boss in outrage for the greater population of people of color who are unable to win their battles, as he is to never win a match, even in his finishing match he is still defeated by Chad Deity. The data has been graphed in previous studies (Lauristen Hiemer, 2009); however, authors have stated that future research will benefit from tests of statistical significance (Lauristen Hiemer, 2009). Bivariate correlations and linear regression are common methods of estimating association between variables, linear trend (slope), and statistical significance in time seriesdata (Baumer Lauristen, 2010; Hashima Finkelhor, 1999; Lauristen, Rezey Heimer, 2013). The many caveats associated with time series data, trend analysis, and linear regression were accounted for preliminary to analysis. It is common for time series data to be highly auto correlated and thus contain residuals lacking independence (Asteriou Hall, 2011). The Durbin Watson statistic was used to confirm residual correlation was not problematic for reported findings (Fields, 2005). Data normality, linearity, homoscedasticity, and presence of outliers were assessed by evaluation of skewness and kurtosis, the Shapiro Wilks test, and visual inspection of plots (West, Finch, Curran ,1995). Multicolinearity, often difficult to overcome in time series data (Asteriou Hall, 2011), was assessed through insuring bivariate correlations of independent variables were less than .9 in strength, variance inflation factor values did not exceed 10, and tolerance levels were above .10 (Tabachnick Fidell, 2001). Spurious regression is possible with non stationary data or when two variables are trending overtime.

  • 41. What Is The Value Of The Motion Picture Industry It is no surprise to know that there has been an increase in interest towards the motion picture industry. Largely because the motion picture industry has become a significant source of revenue in many countries. Thousands of movies are made each year, and they total to billions of dollars in revenue. For example, in 2006, more than 3,000 movies were in theaters totaling to $23.8 billion in revenue. Motion pictures are also instrumental in shaping worldwide impressions of a country s intellectual, historical, and cultural environment. In this paper, my objective is to address certain issues pertaining to the motion picture industry, specifically its value chain, the competitive landscape, the notion of net profit, cost allocation considerations, and the key elements to consider when conducting a cost variance analysis. The value chain of the motion picture industry consists of three stages production, distribution, and exhibition then it finally arrives for the consumption, where the audiences can see the final product. As the saying goes it takes a village in each of these stages to get the motion picture to consumers, but it is no easy task to make a motion picture. There are four phases involved before, during, and after the production stage: development, pre production, production, and post production. In the development phase, the producer acquires intellectual property. There is no particular order in which this is done, but the producer needs to purchase the rights to make the film, acquire a screenwriter, and obtain initial financing. This is easier for major studios, because hiring well known screenwriters, actors and actresses, as well as the director, makes it easier to obtain financing. Independent studios, on the other hand, have a limited budgeted and are only able to show a preview for major or subsidiary studios. Then the studio decision makers determine whether the film will be successful and compare it to other films. They also develop a scenario analysis of potential box office revenues and determine if they should move forward with the film. Films are only given the green light once the executives are satisfied with the predicted probability, and once they secure financing.

He took it upon himself to make a good education available to anyone and everyone. He started his first school for underprivileged children at his home, Yasnaya Polyana. Tolstoy wrote this in his article about popular education, I could write whole books about the ignorance that I witnessed in the schools of France, Switzerland, and Germany; Anyone who cares about education should study schools not from the reports of public examinations, but from extended visits and conversations with teachers and pupils in the schools and outside the schools (http://www.sras.org/). Eventually he was forced to close down all of his schools due to other more important obligations such as family and writing. Tolstoy started writing letters and notes to his family once he joined the military. This writing eventually turned into a hobby and then a career. Death is a phenomenon that many do not understand in America. America tells many that life should be lived in a certain way in order to live life to its fullest before death comes creeping along. Humans create this false pursuit of happiness before they leave this world. It leaves many in fear of death. Religious beliefs teach humans to embrace death. If that is the case, then why is it that citizens in north America still fear death when living a happy life in a first world country. Jack Kerouac is inspired to write spontaneously through his travels in Mexico because of Tristessa s junk addiction and how she embraces death even though her life is miserable. The romantic s wrote many poems about death and many artists from that era embraced death because it evoked a high level of curiosity in humans. Kerouac seems to embrace this notion too because it expresses an essential truth about the human condition. He was inspired by a dove in Tristessa s house, Yet so much like Tristessa s eyes that I wish I could comment and tell Tristessa: Thou hast the dove s eyes.
