The Impacts of Anthropogenic Greenhouse and Trace Gas Emissions on the Ocean

Meteo 470: Video Research Project

Introduction:
Anthropogenic emissions of CO2 and other trace gases affect the atmosphere, ocean,
biosphere and cryosphere (IPCC, 2014). These components of the climate system
stimulate interactions between each other ranging from synoptic to microscale
processes and including everything in between. Since the industrial revolution,
human produced emissions have been changing the world around us (IPCC, 2014).
The phenomenon of having greenhouse gases and aerosols in the atmosphere is
natural and necessary to support life on Earth. However, the buildup of greenhouse
gases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This research is intended to further the understanding of how the Earth s climate will
be affected with rising anthropogenic emissions.
Each of the world s countries contributes different amounts of both gas and particle
emissions to the atmosphere influencing changes in weather and climate on a daily
basis. The main anthropogenic emissions in the climate system are Carbon Dioxide
(CO2), Methane (CH4), Nitrous Oxide (N2O) and Aerosols, each consisting of a
different atmospheric lifetime. Since the United States endorses open access to
scientific data, tools and resources to conduct research, it is more beneficial to
analyze the anthropogenic emission sources of the United States over other
industrialized countries whose data is not so freely available to the public (Auer et
al., 2007). The United States is the second highest emitter or polluter in the world.
The burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, and transportation produces most of
the United States emissions. Due to the country s dependence on fossil fuels, the
United States emission footprint is expanding. With a growing population and an
expanding economy, the United States is urbanizing at an expansive rate. The
increase in population as well as the modernization of our world is causing Americans
to increase their energy consumption through increased transportation and the
development of new cities. All in
Average Fuel Economy
. In 2012, President Obama signed into law a drastic Corporate Average Fuel
Economy (C.A.F.E.) standard whereas all new passenger cars and trucks must
increase fuel economy to 54.5 miles per gallon (MPG) by 2025. This new law touts
that it will save American consumers more than $8,000 in gas over the life of the
vehicle, reduce oil consumption by 2 million barrels of oil per day, and cut harmful
greenhouse gases by 6 billion metric tons over the life of the program (The White
House). On the surface, these statistics appear to benefit both the consumer, and the
earth. However, when one looks at the bigger picture and statistics, it does very little
to benefit either the earth or even less the consumer. If the administration really

Great Expectations By Charles Dickens
Commonly, a novel is either a plot driven novel, a character driven novel, or a mix of
the two. In order for a novel to be character driven, it must revolve more around the
characters individual thoughts, feelings, and inner struggles, rather than around the
quest of the story. Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens, is a characterdriven novel.
While the story does have a plot, it is not contingent upon that plot, but rather is
reliant upon its characters and their natures. This is evident from the beginning of
the novel. From the opening of the novel, it is clear that it is character driven. It
opens with an introduction to the main protagonist, Pip, who is a complex
character that faces much internal conflict during his development. The reader
learns of Pip s past and present conditions as well as his internal struggle. Pip best
describes it later as, Scattered wits take a long time picking up, and often, before I
had got them well together, they would be dispersed in all directions by one stray
thought,... (Dickens 103). It is common for character driven novels to open in such a
way where character description comes before plot description. This implies to the
reader that the characters are foundational ideas behind the story. Dickens created
many characters, and the fact that they are all highly developed indicates character
drive. The lives of the different individuals are very intertwined, so that their
interactions impact their character development. As Pip
Paganism Vs Neopaganism
When people hear the word pagan some get scared but others are intrigued. Perhaps
it was the time period that people would born into weather it was a an accepted term
or it was not. Weather it was what type of paganism were people being drawn too.
Paganism is envisioned from different perspectives due to the effect of different time
eras, the comparison of historical to neopaganism, and the way that society views it.
Paganism is viewed in many different perspectives around the world. While some
people highly advocate that paganism is earthly based and life fulfilling, others
believe that paganism is associated with the devil and witchcraft. Harvey Graham
states that Pagans are inspired in their quest to understand and celebrate the natural
world by a wide range of literature, including botanical treatises, ancient epics,
archaeological reports, and fantasy fiction. (par. 5). Pagans believe in life fulfillment,
they want to live their life to a full extent. They are very invested into themselves and

They believe that Wicca is associated with the Devil Cunningham explains that
many neo pagans, including Wiccans, have adopted the pentagram as a symbol.
This symbol consists of a circle with a five pointed star inside, with the tips of the
points touching the circle (par. 11) This symbol can be commonly connected to
association with Satan. This symbol is one of the reasons why some people are still
against Wicca. Another concept that people are weary about is the fine line between
sorcery and witchcraft. Smith and Green says The lines separating witchcraft form
sorcery are not clear from one society to the next or from one observer to the next
(1132 1133). Society does not fully understand the difference between the two. Some
might say that although they might seem similar they are different and other might
say even though they are different words they still have the same
Outliers Reflection
After reading the chapter in the book Outliers, The Story of Success, I believe that
Gladwell did a great job explaining how different cultures can cause an impact our
to the society and the individuals. Although I love working in a work place that
embraces diversity and is accepting of all kinds of people, this may lead to some
challenges due to the differences that we pertain. For example, every coworker I
work with is unique in his or her own way; we were all raised differently and were
born into other communities. Furthermore, this enabled us all have different ways
of doing things or handling situations. One thing that I was taught to do a certain
way may bother a coworker of mine if they do it differently and vise versa which
could lead to those challenges. A talent that someone may be superior at, may be
extremely difficult for somebody else. In the end, everyone has their own talents
which should be embraced and used in order to become successful. In the book, they
mentioned how Korean Airlines at the time were... Show more content on

Koreans are very similar to Colombians when it came to communication. Likewise,
Koreans are also respectful and passive people, which hindered them from
confrontations whenever faced in situations. They were submissive and often afraid
of communicating the errors in the aircraft to the flight captain, due to the authority
he had. In addition, they wanted to make sure that the Captains were less intimidating
and didn t act the American air traffic controllers, so the workers on the flight wouldn
t be submissive when it came to speaking up in an emergency. This taught Koreans
that they needed to improve their communication with one another, and learn from
the little mistakes that all three countries, Korea, Colombia, and America were both
doing. Korean Air did not succeed it did not right itself until it acknowledged the

The Myth of Money and Success
The American Dream is different for everyone, though it is most commonly
associated with success, freedom, and happiness. The concept of the American
Dream seems to have dwindled from where it was in the past few generations. It has
gone from success, freedom, and happiness to having lots of money and the nicest
possessions. In today s society, we all hope and strive for this dream, but how many
actually achieve the American Dream? Is it a reasonable goal that Americans should
strive for, or is it a myth that only leads to self destruction? According to Horatio
Alger and Toni Cade Bambara, they both believe the concept that the American

Today, as well as back in the 1800 s when the story was written, most people s
dreams are to achieve success. This formally became known as The American
Dream . Although this may seem strange for everyone to have the same idea, it
really isn t when you look at it with an open perspective. Each and every person s
perception of success is extremely different and individual, which makes everyone
s dreams different. There may be people who strive for big goals, and there may be
others who take it one day at a time, achieving happiness on a less formal level. In
comparing the time period of the story to our society today, there are many
similarities and differences to consider. According within the world we live today,
people tend to set much higher goals and expectations for themselves, whereas, in
Ragged Dick, it was more of a day to day type situation. When people set smaller,
more realistic goals, it results in more happiness and comfort in their lifestyle.
However, in today s world, Americans have become so incredibly competitive and
successful, that the standards have been significantly raised to the point where
personal happiness is no longer good enough. After reading a novel like Horatio
Alger s Ragged Dick, you subconsciously make yourself realize the important
underlying message that he is trying to portray. To me, this message is to always be
optimistic, and no matter how bad your life is, it can always get better if you are
honest,
We Must Regulate the Advertising of Unhealthy Fast Food
Essay
Think back to last year s Super Bowl. What do we really remember about the event?
One might say the game winning drive, the players excitement, but what most of us
remember was the commercials. The hilarious Old Spice commericals, the creative,
funny, car commercials, and most importantly the dozens of commercials about food.
Ranging from Campbell s Soup, to Snickers, to Coca Cola, these commercials seem
to be shown just for our entertainment; however, although we might not realize it,
they do influence our decision making down the road. It no longer amazes people
when they hear about how companies pay millions of dollars for a few minutes of
airtime on events such as the Super Bowl. Over that past several years, research is
starting to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within these ninety eight hours of recorded program times, a total of 1344
advertisements were found. Out of these 1344 advertisements, thirty three percent,
around four and a half advertisementsperhour, were for food. The shocking thing
about these commercials however, was the fact that around seventy nine percent of
these food commercials were for candy, and fast food. Foods were classified as
healthy if they met Singapore s Healthier Choice Symbol, but the food being
advertised was clearly not.
The study from Singapore is just one specific example of how much pressure the
media is placing on children, and what they consume, and how unbeneficial this
pressure is. Another study conducted by Kristen Harrison and Amy L. Marske also
shows the correlation between food advertising, how it is geared towards children,
and the nutritional benefits, or lack thereof, of the foods being advertised. These
researchers focused on just the nutritional content of the foods being advertised
during hours of peak child viewers. They then coded the foods being advertised
based on what type of food it was, such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack food.
They found that fast food and sweets comprised eighty three percent of all the food
advertisement in hoursofpeak child viewers. Snack foods were depicted much more

God Created Humanity For A Purpose
Assess the claim that god created humanity for a purpose
It can be argued that god did create humanity for a purpose, as why would he
endow us with sense, reason and intellect if he intended us to forgo their use? It
therefore logically follows that we must have some purpose, hidden or not that we
are expected to fulfil, also why would the bible detail the creation of humans in such
detail as is demonstrated in genesis 2, why would god, in this story, prioritise
mankind over all others when the purpose if said entities is made apparent as
animals are made to feed man, so if god endeavoured to assign a purpose to those
supposedly subservient to mankind, why would he not give a purpose for mankind to
fulfil, why also, according to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However this is also subject to a counter argument, as perhaps it could be argued that
god has endowed us with intellect, so perhaps we are supposed to use that intellect
to discern what our purpose is, in my personal opinion, it is naГЇve to suggest that
mankind has a singular purpose, as I believe that our purpose is ever changing and
exists in a constant state of flux, as our purpose cannot be simply to worship god,
or to reproduce, no, I believe that mankind does not have a singular purpose as
such, as is implied in the question, as would god not have endowed us simply with
the qualities necessary in order to fulfil a singular purpose, therefore unless said
purpose was extremely intricate in its guidelines, we would have been left with
qualities missing, as if our purpose was simply to worship god, why would god
give us the sense of knowledge that leads us to question his very existence, would it
not be beneficial for him to limit us in our intellect, that we will flourish as a species
but not be granted the capability for critical analysis which leads us to doubt
The Sport Of Wrestling During The 16th And 16th Century
Do you know what sport was established in the 15th and 16th century? Many people
may not realize that the great sport of wrestling was established so long ago.
However, wrestling is much different now than it was when it first came about. Since
the sport of wrestling began, major changes and advancements have come about
which have changed the sport tremendously and made it what it is today. Wrestlingis
one of the oldest sports, and it has a lot of historical background. Wrestling was
established in the 15th and 16th century, but it was not a competitive sport at the
time. There have been cave drawings of wrestling found from 3000 B.C., which
shows that either the sport or at least ideas about the sport have been around for a
long time (Olympic). It was during the pioneer days that wrestling s popularity
began to grow. In Canada, there was a wrestling champion from each of the small
villages and settlements. After the champions were crowned, they would all
compete against each other and whoever won was the best of the best (Wrestling).
A wide variety of people were involved in wrestling, even some presidents,
including Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Washington was good enough
to win a tournament, and at one point in history, there was a style of wrestling
named after him. That style, however, is no longer used in today s sport.Wrestling
is a very popular sport not only in the U.S. but all over the world. In France,
wrestling was very popular. Wrestling was

The Museum Of Anthropology And The Smithsonian
Museum
Try, if you would, to recall your last visit to a museum or other similar institution. Did
you immediately accept the information presented to you as fact? Did you stop to
think about how a particular exhibit represents a culture and whether or not it was
accurate? Since their origin, museums were created for the purpose of preservation
and interpretation of the material culturethey exhibit, and have been the most widely
accepted method for the dissemination of information pertaining to other cultures.
That being said, there is an increasing amount of discourse today questioning the
value of museums and the ways in which their exhibition of material culture actually
serves to devalue or misrepresent their cultures of origin. For this research paper, I
have decided to focus in the collections of material culture present in the Beloit
College Logan Museumof Anthropologyand the Smithsonian Museum. First, I begin
by sharing what I have learned about the history surrounding the origins of museums.
Next, I identify the ways in which museums obscure and misrepresent the cultures
they display through their exhibits either intentionally or otherwise. Finally, I attempt
to utilize what I have learned in order to compare the two institutions and identify the
ways in which they have taken steps to keep up with modern museological and
discourse.
To begin, preservation and interpretation, the concepts that form the basis of
museums, originates from the human inclination to acquire
Odysseus And Moses In The Aeneid
Moses in Exodus and Aeneas in the Aeneid are the closest to each other with
regarding leadership. Both men were perceived to be the best leaders for their people
without thinking of their own personal gain. Both of these leaders began their
missions when their people were put into serious danger, which put both of these men
true leadershipabilities to the test. Aeneas and Moseswere two different types of
leaders when it came down to it. Moses and Aeneas both have to deal with the
concept that they both have no sense of free will . They are both being constantly
being toyed and played with by their different version of Gods. Truly, neither one of
them are leaders because they are being lead by their personal gods way of living and

Aeneas is already made to be a powerful heroic figure by nature. At the end of the
Aeneid he temporarily loses his heroism and his pietas. The burning of Troy
guards his ability to perform like a natural hero he is. I can tell that his heroism
will be an inner struggle within himself. Aeneas feels like he is no longer in
control of his own destiny. This makes him more of a hero than a leader. He has to
deal with battle everywhere he goes. Aeneas shows his true heroism and leadership
when he choses his duties as a leader over his love for Dido. He has to tell Dido he is
duty bound (973). Aeneas shows compassion and love, which are some rare traits
in heroes. To me, this makes him more of a hero because he can show his
emotions. He felt very guilty and thought he was the reason she took her on life.
Moses is more of a leader than a hero to me. Moses started out as an outsider because
of where he was raised. The same people who pushed him to the outside were the
same people he had to lead. He wads able to push past the barriers of being scared
and the feeling that no one would listen to him. He was able to lead the people and
gain their trust from the Lord s word. Some would say that Moses is a hero because
he split the Red Sea and led the Israelites to freedom. Moses had his doubts and fears
when he is asked to do the job of the Lord intended in him to do. Good leadership is
the ability to bring people to peace. Moses exemplifies instruction in his words and

Furthermore, fraudsters use social engineering to deceive the bank customers and gain
access to sensitive online credentials (Schneider, 2013, p. 480). Unfortunately,
fraudsters use phishing to hold clients customer data through making phone calls or
sending emails to determine information on the payment cards. Moreover, the
information obtained through phishing enables the fraudsters to obtain access and
make withdrawals, thus forging the customers identity. For example, backdoor
programs, such as Cart32, steal customer data (Schneider, 2013, p.430). Therefore,
phishing not only impacts negatively internet banking but also poses threats to the
bank payment system.
According to Schneider (2013), the phishing scheme involves the fraudsters using
stenography in spoofed emails to lead bank customers to a prototype of their bank s
websites that look legitimate. However, the fake website would be designed to steal
their information (p. 427). Thus, the websites save customers financial information
through coaxing bank customers to learn their credit card numbers and social security

appear to be sent by IB bank. Further, the advertisements contain website links that
replicate customers bank s website. Moreover, fraudsters may use mobile

Information System And Network Infrastructure Upgrade
At...
Purpose of Interview: Determine the requirements of the new information system and
network infrastructure upgrade at XYZ Hospital.
Questions:
1.What are the current issues with the existing network and information system at
XYZ Hospital?
One of the first things that comes to mind is the administrative and clinical staff are
complaining about how slow the network is. With an increase in staff over the years
at the hospital and an increase in the demand of the network and the existing system
is struggling to keep up. Staff are complaining about the weak and slow speed of the
network at the hospital. Along with the problems of the network, staff are also
having a hard time of being able keep patient medical records up to date and patient
billing correct.
2.What features should the new system have that the existing system does not
currently possess?
The hospital s existing information system and network were designed many years
ago when all that it was mainly used for was sending email, using the internet for
research, or saving files to a file server. We would like the new information system
and network upgrade to take advantage of being able to have an information system
where all patient medical records can be updated on a continual basis, where
medical inventory can be inputted into a patient inventory database to keep track of
what has or hasn t been used for patients, where patient billing is accurate and kept
up to date and accessible in real time. Where Clinical

The Government Intervention Of International Business
Essay
When governments amongst nations conduct in international business, it exposes
them to increased risks and costs through unfair trade and bribery in order to obtain a
competitive advantage or power. Mercantilism explains why the government
intervention of international business increases the chances of these risks.
Mercantilismis the theory that explains, the government will maintain their
economy and trade to promote their own domestic industry at the cost of the other
country leading to unfair trade (Pettinger,2016). As all governments will not play
by the same rules, there is an increase in risks such as unfair tariff policies or
bribery in order to gain a competitive advantage. In fact, many governments across
nations will use these unfair actions to gain an increase in power. Hill (2015) states
that nations like China are striving for a more neo mercantilist policy (a more
modern theory of mercantilism where economic power is the equivalent to a trade
surplus) to gain a trade surplus. During most of the 2000s, their exports have been
increasing whereas their imports have not grown because they have been limited by
an import substitution policy. While China is able to benefit from the trade surplus, it
is at the cost of another nation where the money that will be paid for those imports
will decrease. Therefore, government intervention in international business increases
risk like unfair trading to gain a competitive advantage. The government also
increases the cost of
Milton Friedman Capitalism And Freedom Analysis
Milton Friedman in his book, Capitalism and Freedom, analysis the relationship
between two very important aspects of a society, capitalism and freedom. Throughout
the book Friedman talks about complex issues that stem from from capitalism and
freedom. In chapter seven, Friedman focuses the discussion of discrimination and
how that plays a role in society as a whole. In the beginning of the chapter, Friedman
explains the difference between a lack of discrimination in the workplace and
discrimination in the workplace. Friedman blames discrimination in the workplace on
the government, and specifies the laws that are put into place that had a major effect
the future of all American citizens. As Friedman starts to speculate certain laws put

In this case discrimination has a effect of the labor force and depending on the
color of one s skin, which can create problems as Friedman points out. As a result
there is a long history of discrimination in the workplace. The problem is that the
employer was not given a choice with whom they hired. Friedman s main point is
that people must have a choice in who they hire for the better of the business. What
this case is more of an attempt of integration, this decision not only upsets the
consumers but you make the employee a victim. Another example of this happens
shortly after the repeal of Jim Crow laws, and new laws promoting integration had a
negative effect. When African Americans got placed into predominantly Caucasian
school, the rest of the students refused to attend school. They were so set in their
beliefs that it turned out to be more of a problem and the African Americanchildren
ended up suffering the most because of it. It is admirable by the government to
attempt to promote integration, however it can lead to more problems as a result as
Friedman points
Personal Narrative-Tyke Who Should Have Gained A Life

Tyke On August 20, 1994, an African elephant went berserk and killed her trainer.
She escaped and tasted freedom for what was only a few seconds until she was
shot eighty six times. How can we blame her for the numerous years held in
captivity in the circus, where she was abused and neglected? Will we ever learn
from our mistakes? Dedicated to Tyke, who should have lived a life in freedom. I
look into the eyes of you, my circus trainer, And even with my tears, you only see
me as an entertainer. My whole life has consisted of corruption and abuse; That has
no reasonable, rational excuse. I perform to fuel your avaricious greed For

The Power Of Macbeth
Who has the most power? Imagine doing whatever it takes to make it to the top.
Would you risk it all? Or would you play it safe? In Macbeth, Shakespeare makes
control a demand for all of the characters. Macbeth is the thane of Glamis who is
killing to have another title. He goes to extreme measures to become the king of
Scotland. His wife, Lady Macbeth, wants this just as much and she tries to
manipulate his actions to gain control over him. After the death of Duncan, Malcolm
and Macduff flee to another country which makes them look like suspects and
Macbeth has an advantage over the title as king. After Macbeth becomes king both
him and his wife encounter a downfall that causes both of them to die with a guilty
conscious. All of the characters want to get to the top of the social class but only a
few will go to the extreme to get there. Macbeth has the most power throughout the
whole play because even when things became pathetic for him he always knew he
was in charge of his own destiny. In the play, The Three Witches possess partial
blame for the outcomes during the story. Also known as The Weird sisters, take
control over Macbeth in different aspects with their prophecies. In document D it
states that Macbeth visits them only to find out the different predictions that they
have made for him. Within the document it states Macbeth asking Whate er thou art,
for thy good caution, thanks.... (Document D), showing that they had some control
over the actions of Macbeth
Is The Combined Prolonged Exposure ( Pe ) And Cognitive...
The research question that I am interested in answering is whether a combined
prolonged exposure (PE) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) approach is
useful in treating veterans with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The ideal
study would include four groups: one to receive PE, one to receive CPT, one to
receive both PE and CPT, and one that does not receive an intervention. The groups
would consist of an equal 50/50 male to female ratio (half of the participants would
be male, half would be female) to control for gender. The participants would be
contacted based on information gathered about veterans with PTSDby the local U.S.
Department of Veteran s Affairs offices in Orange County, California.
In this scenario, the independent variable is the type of treatment and the values are
the treatment groups. The dependent variables are the patient s measurable PTSD
symptoms, including frequency of dissociative reactions, recurrent distressing
dreams, negative alterations in cognitions and mood, and marked alterations in
arousal and reactivity (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). The demographic
variables in this study are age and ethnicity. The control variables are gender,
geographic location, and PTSD.
Measurement of Variables Identified Variable. The Posttraumatic Cognitions
Inventory (PTCI) is a scale used to measure a person s trauma related to their
thoughts and beliefs to determine if they have PTSD (Foa, Ehlers, Clark, Tolin,
Orsillo, 1999). For the
Analysis Of The Man In Mccarthy s The Road
In a world that was changed by chaos, The Man remained the same man from the
beginning of the novel until the end. Throughout his journey on The Road, The Man
s dedication to the survival of The Boy and never faltered, and stayed constant no
matter what life threw at him. The Man ended his expedition on The Roadthe same
manas when he started it.
At the beginning of the novel, the reader is introduced to the one defining character
trait of The Man: his devotion to his son. This concept is a staple in The Man s
personality, and greatly affects his actions. We see his devotion through small acts
like how The Man sleeps with The Boy to keep him warm and how The Boy
always drinks, eats, and bathes before The Man. The reader sees a larger example of
this commitment when a bad guy threatened The Boy with a knife. The Man swiftly
and ruthlessly shot the man who fell back instantly and lay with blood bubbling from
the hole in his forehead. (McCarthy.). Rather than simply incapacitating the bad guy,
The Man made sure that at least that man would never be able to hurt or threaten The
Boy again. The Man is not only devoted to his son, but he is committed to his goals
of heading South. Even though they made some stops along the way, the idea of
getting South and to the shore never wavered from The Man s head. The intensity
that The Man devoted to protecting The Boy continued as their journey did. When
someone started shooting the two men with arrows, the readers were treated to

Nazi Propaganda Poster Analysis
The intended goals of the influential posters were to influence public opinion
whether it be for or against a precise political agenda. These propaganda posters
manipulated public attitude into viewing things into their way of thinking. The
pictures and words on the posters were meticulously chosen and used deliberately
to influence the way one thinks. The strategies utilized in the posters appealed to
emotions rather than logical reasoning and always had motivational factors to
influence. Nazi ideology was portrayed in posters as part of Hitler s plan to
reshape German minds into his way of thinking. For example, in poster #2 a
smiling, good looking, well groomed German student is depicted holding a Nazi
flag. The young student is regarded in the community because of his education.
The poster emphasizes that he is proud to serve Nazi Germany in hopes of
influencing other young people to serve in the military. His proud stance suggests
that he feels privileged to be carrying a swastika which is the emblem of the
German Nazi Party. The student appears to embrace becoming a Nazi by creating a
sense of pride in the poster in an effort... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We follow you, leader. The poster emphasizes and tries to persuade the public
opinion that Hitler was the epitome of what a supreme leader is. The poster
portrays an oversized picture of Hitler positioned to appear to look like a strong
minded leader. The community is looking up at him with raised hands in an
approving and adulating manner. The poster attempts to influence people how they
should feel about Hitler by persuading them to believe he is the ultimate leader. His
stance with the clenched fist indicates that he is ready to rule outwardly and take
care of the people. The poster tries to show the people if they stand behind Hitler
and follow his lead good things will happen. The propaganda message symbolizes a
forced belief and was intended to deceive the people even though it gained more
Larkin Is Misogynist
Larkin is a misogynist who hates marriage and children. Discuss how far you agree.
I agree with this statement to some extend but not fully. I think Larkin can come
across in these ways however to put a definite label on him would be an assumption.
Also I think that by saying he hates children and marriageis too much of a strong
statement and perhaps he personally never chose to do these particular things in
life or couldn t understand them. Larkin comes across as a misogynist from the
way he presents women as just objects for the purpose of men. For example in the
poem For Sidney Bechet he writes sporting house girls like circus tigers (priced far
above rubies) which is perhaps referring to wild prostitute women who have been...

He describes the dresses and the cheep fabrics of nylon and fake colours lemons
mauves and olives and from the way he uses foods can be interpreted to have a
significant symbolic meaning in the sense that these organic foods become out of
date in time, which could be suggesting he has a bitter opinion on marriage that it
will soon become dull over time and never last. In the penultimate stanza he writes
how none thought of the others they would never meet or how their lives would all
contain this hour he really expresses Larkin s view on marriage and commitment,
as he appears to feel that marriage limits chances and options it also raises the
question as to whether he feared marriage and the change it could have on his life
and freedom. This would suggest that as opposed to hating marriage Larkin merely
feared it. The line sun destroys the interest of what s happening in the shade
metaphorically could be interpreted to show how fabulous display of a wedding
can destroy or distract what happened out of view from the public like the stress,
disputes and reality of faults in the relationship. The imagery of the sun also creates
a bright beautiful link with weddings that people see on the surface juxtaposed with
the reality of dullness as the years go on. In the poem Self s the Man he portrays Man
to be more superior to women. His opinion of love s initial excitement contrasted with

Why is it necessary to use excess sodium hydroxide solution when separating iron

Extra NaOH must be used when precipitating iron (iii) ions because three NaOH
molecules are needed to react with each ion of iron as shown in the reaction below.

4. Precipitation reactions are often used in quantitative analysis to determine the
precise amount of metal cation in solution. The most common method for the
analysis of barium ions, for example, involves precipitation with sodium sulfate to
form barium sulfate, which is insoluble in water.
a. Write a formula equation and a net ionic equation for the precipitation reaction of
barium chloride with sodium sulfate.
Here is the formula equation

Awards are an advantage for most employees as it legally protects them from any
malpractices and provides them with entitlements which all employers must adhere
by. It also means that employers can not alter anything that can disadvantage a
particular employee. An employer can also specify the terms and conditions by
which his employee has to work. It allows for negotiation of terms and conditions
after wage exceeds 100 000 and employee wishes to opt out, as they can now get a
common law contract. It means that even if an employee is not working hard enough
or the employer wants them to work harder by doing something negative to them, eg.
wage reduction, they are legally not allowed to. It also restricts employers in what
they can do with their employees. They can not be negotiated between employer and
employee as they are common in between all companies in certain industries. The

Introduction To Patient Othello For Paranoid Personality...
Intro: The purpose of this study is to examine patient Othello for Paranoid Personality
Disorder. There are seven signs that signal that an individual has this illness and
Othello displays four of these signs, which is enough to diagnose him with PPD. The
signs consist of the patient suspecting that he is being harmed without sufficient
evidence, is preoccupied by doubts about friends and associates, persistently bears
grudges, and suspects that his/her spouse are cheating on them without any real
evidence. It is recommended for patient Othelloto be diagnosed with Paranoid
Personality Disorderand receive immediate treatment for his condition.
Paragraph 1: To begin with, Othello suspects, without sufficient evidence, that he is
being harmed and deceived by close colleagues. This feeling Othello perceives can
fit under two of the categories listed in the DSM 5 manual. The manual states, [The
subject] suspects, without sufficient basis, that others are exploiting, harming, or
deceiving him or her, and [The subject] is preoccupied with unjustified doubts about
the loyalty or trustworthiness of friends or associates (American Psychiatric
Association, 2013). Othello loses all his trust in one of his high officers, Lieutenant
Cassio. Evidently, this is due to the fact that Othello believes that Cassio is sleeping
with his wife and is out to get him. One of Othello s men Iago, plants this idea into
Othello s head which springs him into the constant dwelling of the idea that
Medea Essay
Euripides always expressed his point of views towards the culture of Ancient
Greeks, mostly hatred and enmity. However his safety was a major concern due to
the irrational behaviour of the ancient Greeks and his close friends and family
members. Thus he expressed his notions by giving speaking power to his characters.
Medeahas been given the same property. In Medea, Euripidesdiscusses exclusively
about the gender segregation and inequality. He criticises men for considering
themselves a dominant figure of the society. However this criticism is presented in
form of a tragedy which unfolds in the city of Corinth. Medea, a contrast of the
ancient Greek women, shows the empowerment and courage of women by executing

This power provided her a strong base to plan for revenge from Jason. As mentioned,
her cruelty had no set boundaries and limitations. Thus she didn t hesitate to
continue with her cruel plan and murdered the princess in attempt to revenge
Jason. Executing her plan was a suicidal attempt and hence she managed to escape
due to her future planning. This symbolises the true ambition and desire of Medea
and her determination and so Euripides also conveys his ideology about women.
Medea, a distinct character conveys strong message across the audience and allows
them to reconsider the legal rights of women. Not in the modern era but in the
ancient times, recognition of women was a major dilemma for the society. Other
than that Euripides tries to justify Medea s evilness by providing reasons and by
letting Medea express her love for Jason. She chooses vengeance over law, this
doesn t only show the dignity of Medea, it also presents the deep emotions of hers
which conquered her mind and forced her to commit an unforgivable crime. After
all she did for Jason, she only asked for his loyalty and integrity. Upon Jason s
betrayal, Medea shattered into pieces as she trusted Jason and his moral values.
Jason s compelling behaviour turned Medea into an evil who later turns into a
murderer of the royal family and her own

the animal and/or continue to remain within close proximity to said animal.
Obviously, animals can sense when a person is petrified and may translate that
sense into an alert to danger, which may cause an undesirable action. IF our dog
were to ever bite, hurt, attack anyone, as responsible pet owners, we would
absolutely address the situation immediately and would not wait around to be
reprimanded by someone who was not even there and is seemingly biased to the
perspective of only a select group of individuals, which clearly do not include the

Heritage Essay
Rename, or Don t.

Heritage plays an important role in self identity, and hence the heritage of a country
defines it. As a people we learn and improve through our past experiences and our
history. This is especially relevant in a country like South Africa; having such an
eventful and colourful past, it is essential we recognise all places, buildings, roads
and dates that played a role in shaping our country today.
Whereas the history of a given article is the cold, hard happenings of the past,
heritage is what one identifies with in their history, and this can be tangible hereditary
heritage (skin colour) or cultural heritage and ... Show more content on

After the fall of Apartheid, the indigenous peoples felt the need to have their heritage
acknowledged by renaming cities and streets in the vernacular or based on more
deserving people.
The issue becomes contentious as to where the line is drawn. While there are
numerous cases of obvious villains of history (i.e. Hendrik Verwoerd) whose
memory should not be celebrated, there are many more cases of differing peoples
vying for recognition and pride, and it is difficult to insure that renaming remains an
act to promote national heritage and not to laud one group over the other.
It is for this reason that I believe the only way to approach the issue of renaming is
to be practical. While the obvious villains of history and enemies of human rights
must be removed, it is a cold hard fact that naming of Cape Town streets and places
are largely European, and to try to rename everything to equally distribute pride and
self identity amongst all the peoples of South Africa is simply impractical.
In our capitalist country, one must think of the use of money with priority. There are
lots of alarming and immediate issues in South Africa (poverty, education, healthcare,
etc) that require funding more pressingly than renaming does, and that in itself is the
practical outlook of the issue.

Down Syndrome Research Paper
Have you ever thought to yourself, what is Down Syndrome? How is it possible to
get Down Syndrome? Why do they look the way they do? Well, lots of people can
get Down Syndrome. Although most people have heard of Down Syndrome, they
don t truly understand its characteristics, its type its Medical condition, and how
Down Syndromeoccurs. What is Down Syndrome? Down syndrome is where an
individual has a full or partial extra copy of chromosome21. (NDSS) Also, every cell
in the body contains genes that are grounded along chromosomes in the cell s
nucleus. Continuing forward, there are a normally 46 chromosomes in each cell 23
inherited from the mother and 23 from the father. (Medical News Today). In
addition, 80 percent of the babies born with Down Syndrome are born to women
under 35 (NDSS). In conclusion, this is what Down Syndrome is and how it develops.

Some more characteristics of Down Syndrome are, low muscle tone, small stature
and short neck, flat nasal bridge, single deep creases across the center palm,
protruding tongue, large space between large and second toe. (Medical News
Today). Those are just many of the types of characteristics of Down Syndrome, but
there s still many more out there. There are three main types of Down Syndrome,
which are, trisomy 21, translocation, and masochism. Did you know Trisomy 21 has
47 chromosomes in each cell instead of 46. (Medical News Today). Translocation is
where one chromosome breaks off and attaches to another chromosome 21
chromosomes and 1 attaches to another chromosome. Finally mosaicism has a total
of 46 chromosomes, but there s an extra copy of #21 making 47 cells. As a result,
those are the most common types of Down Syndrome that develops in the human
Hugh Howey s Wool
Wool, a story of fear, conspiracy, and the truth What would happen, if a person
were to live in a world that was deadly? The images outside, maybe not true.
Choices that could kill or save lives. Renowned author Hugh Howey illustrates in the
irresistible story of Wool, the horror of living in a dystopian landscape and trapped in
a giant silo. Immersed in the story is the character of Juliet, a young mechanic that is
forced to become the new sheriff, due to the fact that her predecessor had committed
suicide. Juliet being a curious minded person decides to figure out why Holston, the
previous sheriff, decides to kill himself. This, unfortunately, in turn, leads her to find
out the truth and other secrets not meant to be uncovered which causes an uprising.
Howey, therefore, portrays an intoxicating story that also touches on major concepts.
That s the problem with the truth, Darcy said. Liars and honest men both claim to
have it. The power which is supposed to be evenly distributed throughout the many
departments in the silo is a farce. Ultimate control lies with the IT department and
Bernard, the leader of It, unbeknownst to all. The majority of the electrical power
generated from the depths of the silo (Mechanical) which goes to show how much IT
consumes. The energy is used by the Information... Show more content on

Some tangled knots only made sense once unraveled. When Juliet had exposed the
long lost conspiracies of IT, she never thought about what was going to happen if
she were to fight back. Knowing Juliet as a rather proud and stubborn character,
this consequently leads to multiple problems including her being sent outside .
During this time period, the entire section of Mechanical and Supply revolts against
the conspiracies of IT. Ideas like this go to prove the wisdom of Hugh Howey in his
style of showing how certain problems were more worse than good when placed in the
Impeachment of Andrew Johnson
With the assassination of President Lincoln, the presidency fell upon an old fashioned
southerner named Andrew Johnson. Although an honest and honorable man, Andrew
Johnson was one of the most unfortunate Presidents. Over time there has been a
controversial debate as to whether Johnson deserved to be impeached, or if it was an
unconstitutional attempt by Congress to infringe upon the president s authority. The
impeachmentof Andrew Johnsonwas politically motivated. The spirit of the
Jacksonian democracy inspired Andrew Johnson. In 1857, Johnson was then elected
to represent Tennessee in the US Senate. While serving in the Senate, Johnson
became an advocate of the Homestead Bill, which was opposed by most Southern
Democrats and their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the Republicans, this was a clear violation of the law. Around the same
time Johnson violated the Tenure of Office act by removing Stanton and not
receiving the Senate s approval. With these two violations committed by Johnson the
Judiciary Committee voted to submit a report recommending impeachment. 7
The House of Representatives drafted eleven articles of impeachment. The first eight
articles described specific actions by the President that violated the Tenure of Office
Act. The ninth article charged the President with trying to persuade an army officer
to violate the 1867 Army Appropriation Act. The tenth article charged that in
numerous public speeches the President deliberately tried to set aside the rightful
authority and powers of Congress by subjecting it to disgrace, ridicule, hatred,
contempt, and reproach. 8 The eleventh article charged the President with declaring
in a public speech that the Thirty Ninth Congress, as a Congress of only some of the
states, had no authority to exercise legislative power. Rumors of an armed conflict
between the President and Congress spread. Grant ordered the army garrison in
Washington to remain on alert for trouble and stationed extra troops at the War
Department building. 9
The expected clash never occurred however. On February 28, 1868, when the house
voted along strict party lines to impeach President Johnson, the
The Indian Removal Act Of 1830
My friends, circumstances render it impossible that you can flourish in the midst of a
civilized community. You have but one remedy within your reach...that is to [move]
to the west...The sooner you do this, the sooner you will commence your career of
improvement and prosperity. These were the words spoken by Andrew Jacksonto
Congress on the Indian Removal Act of 1830. The Indian Removal Act (aka the Trail
of Tears) was a brutal, unfair tragedy that should not have happened to the Native
Americans. The way the Native Americans were forced out their homeland was the
wrong way for Andrew Jackson to gain land. Before Europeans arrived in America
there were about one to two million Indians. Then, by the 1800 s there were about
two hundred and fifty thousand Native Americans left. Ten percent of the
population died from torture, violence, slavery, and relocation. The first recorded
contact with the Europeans that the Choctaw Tribe encountered was Hernando De
Soto s Expedition in the 1540 s. Hernando was supposed to conquer Florida but
failed terribly. As De Soto s brutalities became known, the Choctaw Tribe greeted
him and his army with a great celebration and later attacked them. The Choctaw
Tribe gave De Soto and his troops about six hundred and forty four arrow wounds
wherever armor didn t protect them. The Chickasaws later trapped De Soto and his
army in a fire so hot that the Spaniards had to build up a forge and fix the steel in
their swords. Europeans had more

in the Antarctic environment
Introduction:
The name Antartica comes from a greek word which means the opposite of north.
Antarctica is the southernmost continent and is known for having cold and windy
conditions. It is the fifth largest continent out of seven other continents in the world
and the area of Antarctica is 14,000,000 km2 and around 90% of it is covered in ice.
The conditions in Antartica (min, max, average temps and wind, water and food
availability) and how these conditions would affect animal survival
The environment conditions in Antarctica is very harsh, it is known for being the
most coldest and windiest continent in the world as 98% of it is covered in ice
which is 4.7 kilometres thick. Antarctica is considered a desert due to the fact that
it barely rains and how dry it is around the continent. The weather temperature in
Antarctica can go as low as 89.6 degrees celsius and a high of 12.3 degrees celsius
with an average temperature of 49 degrees celsius. This is because of the height
above sea levels, the atmosphere and the land masses around Antarctica which is
why the continent is an extremely cold place. In Antarctica the strong winds that are
caused is due to the strong winds which are the katabatic winds. The cold and dry
katabatic wind is caused by the downslope gravity flow which is formed by the cold
air. The highest wind velocity in

The Impacts of Anthropogenic Greenhouse and Trace Gas Emissions on the Ocean By: Lexie Herdt, Meredith Fish, and Samantha Ballard Meteo 470: Video Research Project 12/15/14 Introduction: Anthropogenic emissions of CO2 and other trace gases affect the atmosphere, ocean, biosphere and cryosphere (IPCC, 2014). These components of the climate system stimulate interactions between each other ranging from synoptic to microscale processes and including everything in between. Since the industrial revolution, human produced emissions have been changing the world around us (IPCC, 2014). The phenomenon of having greenhouse gases and aerosols in the atmosphere is natural and necessary to support life on Earth. However, the buildup of greenhouse gases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This research is intended to further the understanding of how the Earth s climate will be affected with rising anthropogenic emissions. Each of the world s countries contributes different amounts of both gas and particle emissions to the atmosphere influencing changes in weather and climate on a daily basis. The main anthropogenic emissions in the climate system are Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), Nitrous Oxide (N2O) and Aerosols, each consisting of a different atmospheric lifetime. Since the United States endorses open access to scientific data, tools and resources to conduct research, it is more beneficial to analyze the anthropogenic emission sources of the United States over other industrialized countries whose data is not so freely available to the public (Auer et al., 2007). The United States is the second highest emitter or polluter in the world. The burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, and transportation produces most of the United States emissions. Due to the country s dependence on fossil fuels, the United States emission footprint is expanding. With a growing population and an expanding economy, the United States is urbanizing at an expansive rate. The increase in population as well as the modernization of our world is causing Americans to increase their energy consumption through increased transportation and the development of new cities. In 2012, President Obama signed into law a drastic Corporate Average Fuel Economy (C.A.F.E.) standard whereas all new passenger cars and trucks must increase fuel economy to 54.5 miles per gallon (MPG) by 2025. This new law touts that it will save American consumers more than $8,000 in gas over the life of the vehicle, reduce oil consumption by 2 million barrels of oil per day, and cut harmful greenhouse gases by 6 billion metric tons over the life of the program (The White House). On the surface, these statistics appear to benefit both the consumer, and the earth. • 4. Great Expectations By Charles Dickens Commonly, a novel is either a plot driven novel, a character driven novel, or a mix of the two. In order for a novel to be character driven, it must revolve more around the characters individual thoughts, feelings, and inner struggles, rather than around the quest of the story. Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens, is a characterdriven novel. While the story does have a plot, it is not contingent upon that plot, but rather is reliant upon its characters and their natures. This is evident from the beginning of the novel. From the opening of the novel, it is clear that it is character driven. It opens with an introduction to the main protagonist, Pip, who is a complex character that faces much internal conflict during his development. The reader learns of Pip s past and present conditions as well as his internal struggle. Pip best describes it later as, Scattered wits take a long time picking up, and often, before I had got them well together, they would be dispersed in all directions by one stray thought,... (Dickens 103). It is common for character driven novels to open in such a way where character description comes before plot description. This implies to the reader that the characters are foundational ideas behind the story. Dickens created many characters, and the fact that they are all highly developed indicates character drive. The lives of the different individuals are very intertwined, so that their interactions impact their character development. As Pip

Perhaps it was the time period that people would born into weather it was a an accepted term or it was not. Weather it was what type of paganism were people being drawn too. Paganism is envisioned from different perspectives due to the effect of different time eras, the comparison of historical to neopaganism, and the way that society views it. Paganism is viewed in many different perspectives around the world. While some people highly advocate that paganism is earthly based and life fulfilling, others believe that paganism is associated with the devil and witchcraft. Harvey Graham states that Pagans are inspired in their quest to understand and celebrate the natural world by a wide range of literature, including botanical treatises, ancient epics, archaeological reports, and fantasy fiction. This symbol is one of the reasons why some people are still against Wicca. Another concept that people are weary about is the fine line between sorcery and witchcraft. Smith and Green says The lines separating witchcraft form sorcery are not clear from one society to the next or from one observer to the next (1132 1133). Society does not fully understand the difference between the two. • 6. Outliers Reflection After reading the chapter in the book Outliers, The Story of Success, I believe that Gladwell did a great job explaining how different cultures can cause an impact our to the society and the individuals. Although I love working in a work place that embraces diversity and is accepting of all kinds of people, this may lead to some challenges due to the differences that we pertain. For example, every coworker I work with is unique in his or her own way; we were all raised differently and were born into other communities. Furthermore, this enabled us all have different ways of doing things or handling situations. One thing that I was taught to do a certain way may bother a coworker of mine if they do it differently and vise versa which could lead to those challenges. • 7. Myth of Money and Success Essay Joshua Nooe Professor Hart RWS 200 20 October 2011 The Myth of Money and Success The American Dream is different for everyone, though it is most commonly associated with success, freedom, and happiness. The concept of the American Dream seems to have dwindled from where it was in the past few generations. It has gone from success, freedom, and happiness to having lots of money and the nicest possessions. In today s society, we all hope and strive for this dream, but how many actually achieve the American Dream? Is it a reasonable goal that Americans should strive for, or is it a myth that only leads to self destruction? According to Horatio Alger and Toni Cade Bambara, they both believe the concept that the American Dream ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Today, as well as back in the 1800 s when the story was written, most people s dreams are to achieve success. This formally became known as The American Dream . Although this may seem strange for everyone to have the same idea, it really isn t when you look at it with an open perspective. Each and every person s perception of success is extremely different and individual, which makes everyone s dreams different. There may be people who strive for big goals, and there may be others who take it one day at a time, achieving happiness on a less formal level. In comparing the time period of the story to our society today, there are many similarities and differences to consider. According within the world we live today, people tend to set much higher goals and expectations for themselves, whereas, in Ragged Dick, it was more of a day to day type situation. When people set smaller, more realistic goals, it results in more happiness and comfort in their lifestyle. However, in today s world, Americans have become so incredibly competitive and successful, that the standards have been significantly raised to the point where personal happiness is no longer good enough. After reading a novel like Horatio Alger s Ragged Dick, you subconsciously make yourself realize the important underlying message that he is trying to portray. To me, this message is to always be optimistic, and no matter how bad your life is, it can always get better if you are honest,

One might say the game winning drive, the players excitement, but what most of us remember was the commercials. The hilarious Old Spice commericals, the creative, funny, car commercials, and most importantly the dozens of commercials about food. Ranging from Campbell s Soup, to Snickers, to Coca Cola, these commercials seem to be shown just for our entertainment; however, although we might not realize it, they do influence our decision making down the road. Out of these 1344 advertisements, thirty three percent, around four and a half advertisementsperhour, were for food. The shocking thing about these commercials however, was the fact that around seventy nine percent of these food commercials were for candy, and fast food. Foods were classified as healthy if they met Singapore s Healthier Choice Symbol, but the food being advertised was clearly not. The study from Singapore is just one specific example of how much pressure the media is placing on children, and what they consume, and how unbeneficial this pressure is. Another study conducted by Kristen Harrison and Amy L. Marske also shows the correlation between food advertising, how it is geared towards children, and the nutritional benefits, or lack thereof, of the foods being advertised. These researchers focused on just the nutritional content of the foods being advertised during hours of peak child viewers. They then coded the foods being advertised based on what type of food it was, such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack food. They found that fast food and sweets comprised eighty three percent of all the food advertisement in hoursofpeak child viewers. Snack foods were depicted much more than any other

God Created Humanity For A Purpose Assess the claim that god created humanity for a purpose It can be argued that god did create humanity for a purpose, as why would he endow us with sense, reason and intellect if he intended us to forgo their use? It therefore logically follows that we must have some purpose, hidden or not that we are expected to fulfil, also why would the bible detail the creation of humans in such detail as is demonstrated in genesis 2, why would god, in this story, prioritise mankind over all others when the purpose if said entities is made apparent as animals are made to feed man, so if god endeavoured to assign a purpose to those supposedly subservient to mankind, why would he not give a purpose for mankind to fulfil, why also, according to the ... Many people may not realize that the great sport of wrestling was established so long ago. However, wrestling is much different now than it was when it first came about. Since the sport of wrestling began, major changes and advancements have come about which have changed the sport tremendously and made it what it is today. Wrestlingis one of the oldest sports, and it has a lot of historical background. Wrestling was established in the 15th and 16th century, but it was not a competitive sport at the time. There have been cave drawings of wrestling found from 3000 B.C., which shows that either the sport or at least ideas about the sport have been around for a long time (Olympic). It was during the pioneer days that wrestling s popularity began to grow. In Canada, there was a wrestling champion from each of the small villages and settlements. After the champions were crowned, they would all compete against each other and whoever won was the best of the best (Wrestling). A wide variety of people were involved in wrestling, even some presidents, including Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Washington was good enough to win a tournament, and at one point in history, there was a style of wrestling named after him. That style, however, is no longer used in today s sport.Wrestling is a very popular sport not only in the U.S. but all over the world. In France, wrestling was very popular. Wrestling was

Did you immediately accept the information presented to you as fact? Did you stop to think about how a particular exhibit represents a culture and whether or not it was accurate? Since their origin, museums were created for the purpose of preservation and interpretation of the material culturethey exhibit, and have been the most widely accepted method for the dissemination of information pertaining to other cultures. That being said, there is an increasing amount of discourse today questioning the value of museums and the ways in which their exhibition of material culture actually serves to devalue or misrepresent their cultures of origin. For this research paper, I have decided to focus in the collections of material culture present in the Beloit College Logan Museumof Anthropologyand the Smithsonian Museum. First, I begin by sharing what I have learned about the history surrounding the origins of museums. Next, I identify the ways in which museums obscure and misrepresent the cultures they display through their exhibits either intentionally or otherwise. Finally, I attempt to utilize what I have learned in order to compare the two institutions and identify the ways in which they have taken steps to keep up with modern museological and discourse. To begin, preservation and interpretation, the concepts that form the basis of museums, originates from the human inclination to acquire

Aeneas is already made to be a powerful heroic figure by nature. At the end of the Aeneid he temporarily loses his heroism and his pietas. The burning of Troy guards his ability to perform like a natural hero he is. I can tell that his heroism will be an inner struggle within himself. Aeneas feels like he is no longer in control of his own destiny. This makes him more of a hero than a leader. He has to deal with battle everywhere he goes. Aeneas shows his true heroism and leadership when he choses his duties as a leader over his love for Dido. He has to tell Dido he is duty bound (973). Aeneas shows compassion and love, which are some rare traits in heroes. To me, this makes him more of a hero because he can show his emotions. He felt very guilty and thought he was the reason she took her on life. Moses is more of a leader than a hero to me. Moses started out as an outsider because of where he was raised. The same people who pushed him to the outside were the same people he had to lead. He wads able to push past the barriers of being scared and the feeling that no one would listen to him. He was able to lead the people and gain their trust from the Lord s word. Some would say that Moses is a hero because he split the Red Sea and led the Israelites to freedom. Moses had his doubts and fears when he is asked to do the job of the Lord intended in him to do. Good leadership is the ability to bring people to peace. Unfortunately, fraudsters use phishing to hold clients customer data through making phone calls or sending emails to determine information on the payment cards. Moreover, the information obtained through phishing enables the fraudsters to obtain access and make withdrawals, thus forging the customers identity. For example, backdoor programs, such as Cart32, steal customer data (Schneider, 2013, p.430). Therefore, phishing not only impacts negatively internet banking but also poses threats to the bank payment system. According to Schneider (2013), the phishing scheme involves the fraudsters using stenography in spoofed emails to lead bank customers to a prototype of their bank s websites that look legitimate. Mercantilismis the theory that explains, the government will maintain their economy and trade to promote their own domestic industry at the cost of the other country leading to unfair trade (Pettinger,2016). As all governments will not play by the same rules, there is an increase in risks such as unfair tariff policies or bribery in order to gain a competitive advantage. In fact, many governments across nations will use these unfair actions to gain an increase in power. Hill (2015) states that nations like China are striving for a more neo mercantilist policy (a more modern theory of mercantilism where economic power is the equivalent to a trade surplus) to gain a trade surplus. During most of the 2000s, their exports have been increasing whereas their imports have not grown because they have been limited by an import substitution policy. While China is able to benefit from the trade surplus, it is at the cost of another nation where the money that will be paid for those imports will decrease. Therefore, government intervention in international business increases risk like unfair trading to gain a competitive advantage. The government also increases the cost of

Friedman s main point is that people must have a choice in who they hire for the better of the business. What this case is more of an attempt of integration, this decision not only upsets the consumers but you make the employee a victim. Another example of this happens shortly after the repeal of Jim Crow laws, and new laws promoting integration had a negative effect. He goes to extreme measures to become the king of Scotland. His wife, Lady Macbeth, wants this just as much and she tries to manipulate his actions to gain control over him. After the death of Duncan, Malcolm and Macduff flee to another country which makes them look like suspects and Macbeth has an advantage over the title as king. The research question that I am interested in answering is whether a combined prolonged exposure (PE) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) approach is useful in treating veterans with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The ideal study would include four groups: one to receive PE, one to receive CPT, one to receive both PE and CPT, and one that does not receive an intervention. The groups would consist of an equal 50/50 male to female ratio (half of the participants would be male, half would be female) to control for gender. The participants would be contacted based on information gathered about veterans with PTSDby the local U.S. Department of Veteran s Affairs offices in Orange County, California. In this scenario, the independent variable is the type of treatment and the values are the treatment groups. Throughout his journey on The Road, The Man s dedication to the survival of The Boy and never faltered, and stayed constant no matter what life threw at him. The Man ended his expedition on The Roadthe same manas when he started it. At the beginning of the novel, the reader is introduced to the one defining character trait of The Man: his devotion to his son. This concept is a staple in The Man s personality, and greatly affects his actions. We see his devotion through small acts like how The Man sleeps with The Boy to keep him warm and how The Boy always drinks, eats, and bathes before The Man. The reader sees a larger example of this commitment when a bad guy threatened The Boy with a knife. The Man swiftly and ruthlessly shot the man who fell back instantly and lay with blood bubbling from the hole in his forehead. (McCarthy.). Rather than simply incapacitating the bad guy, The Man made sure that at least that man would never be able to hurt or threaten The Boy again. The Man is not only devoted to his son, but he is committed to his goals of heading South. Even though they made some stops along the way, the idea of getting South and to the shore never wavered from The Man s head. The intensity that The Man devoted to protecting The Boy continued as their journey did. When someone started shooting the two men with arrows, the readers were treated to

These propaganda posters manipulated public attitude into viewing things into their way of thinking. The strategies utilized in the posters appealed to emotions rather than logical reasoning and always had motivational factors to influence. After the fall of Apartheid, the indigenous peoples felt the need to have their heritage acknowledged by renaming cities and streets in the vernacular or based on more deserving people. The issue becomes contentious as to where the line is drawn. While there are numerous cases of obvious villains of history (i.e. Hendrik Verwoerd) whose memory should not be celebrated, there are many more cases of differing peoples vying for recognition and pride, and it is difficult to insure that renaming remains an act to promote national heritage and not to laud one group over the other. It is for this reason that I believe the only way to approach the issue of renaming is to be practical. While the obvious villains of history and enemies of human rights must be removed, it is a cold hard fact that naming of Cape Town streets and places are largely European, and to try to rename everything to equally distribute pride and self identity amongst all the peoples of South Africa is simply impractical. In our capitalist country, one must think of the use of money with priority.
