Essay On Ethics And Values
Writing an essay on the topic of ethics and values can be a challenging yet rewarding task. The
difficulty arises not only from the vastness and depth of the subject matter but also from the
need to navigate through complex philosophical concepts and real-world applications. Ethics and
values encompass a wide range of perspectives, including cultural, religious, and personal beliefs,
making it crucial to approach the topic with sensitivity and open-mindedness.
Crafting a well-rounded essay on this subject requires thorough research to understand various
ethical theories, historical perspectives, and contemporary issues. Addressing the interplay
between individual values and societal norms adds another layer of complexity. One must strike
a balance between presenting a broad overview of ethical principles and delving into specific
examples to illustrate their application in different contexts.
Moreover, the challenge lies in maintaining a coherent and logical flow of ideas throughout the
essay. The writer must articulate their thoughts clearly, providing a strong thesis statement and
supporting it with well-structured arguments. The essay should also acknowledge and address
counterarguments to demonstrate a nuanced understanding of the topic.
Furthermore, the task involves delving into case studies, real-world scenarios, and ethical
dilemmas to exemplify how values guide decision-making processes. Analyzing the implications
of ethical choices on individuals and societies requires a thoughtful and critical approach.
Balancing theoretical concepts with practical examples is essential to create a comprehensive and
compelling essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on ethics and values demands a combination of research, critical
thinking, and effective communication skills. Navigating the complexities of this topic requires a
commitment to exploring diverse perspectives and presenting a well-rounded view. While it may
be challenging, the process of grappling with ethical principles and values can lead to a deeper
understanding of one's own beliefs and the complex nature of morality.
If you find yourself struggling with such assignments, it's worth noting that assistance is
available. Various resources, including professional writing services likeHelpWriting.net, can
provide support in crafting essays on complex topics, ensuring a well-researched and well-
articulated final product.

Analysis Of Timothy s God And The Lord Jesus Christ
In 2 Timothy 4:1 4 Paul charges Timothy along with Christians of today with God
and the Lord Jesus Christ as his witnesses to, Preach the Word! This exhortation
does not come without merit, Paul gives his reasons in verse three and four why it
is important. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but
according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up
for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be
turned aside to fables. NASB reads, But wanting to have their ears tickled and this
is exactly what is going on in the churches of Christ of today before they totally fall
away to false doctrine. They want to please their own desires and instead of
glorifying God they glorify themselves. In Current Issues Facing the Church notes,
Robert Stapleton wrote a list of the things plaguing the churches and they all have
to do with what man wants and not what the Lord wants. When it comes to
worship of the church the sovereignty of God has been displaced by the
sovereignty of the consumer, what we have ended up with is worship that is user
friendly. In other words, whatever pleases man is the rule. The list reads this way

Simpsons Semiotics
The Simpsons is not just another animated television show, it is the animated
television show. Never has a North American cartoon had such an impact on daily
living then The Simpsons. The Simpsons is now credited as the longest runnning
american show, with 384 episodes forming eighteen seasons. It s longvity has not
gone unnoticed either. The Simpsons has won many awards and had this year
received its 9th Emmy Award for best animated program. Aside from their successes
The Simpsons as an icon can be analyzed with semiotics. They are symbolic,
expressive, and represent many different ideologies. The Simpsons are a yellow
skinned family with 3 children, a dog, a cat, and 2 cars. They are a middle class
family living in a small town, Springfield. They represent the average middle class
american family with each character in the show representing another symbol
separately. They take from real life, put a twist on the details and then feed it back to
the people so that they seem to mock and mimic the American Dream at the same
time. The Simpsons family strives for the things we as a society strive for. They
represent our society even though they are just fictional ... Show more content on

Australia Neotectonic Overflow Essay
Australia s neotectonic evidence and record
No less than three distinct characteristics of neotectonic surface deformation are

The Article, Media Bias And Reputation By Jesse M.
Shapiro
1. The article, Media Bias and Reputation by Jesse M. Shapiro, discusses the
interpretation of information based upon previously existing expectations. This is
believed to lead news organizations to generate information being generated that
appeals to specific demographics of consumers in order to build their own reputations
among the public. In addition, the severity of media bias is discussed and the
negative impact it has on public views as compared to unbiased information. The
article purposes that competition between newsoutlets is a cause for decreased media
bias, as opposed to an increase in its occurrence.
2. The main points of the article are focused around the way in which news is
presented to the public. Through identifying multiple sources of news information,
such as the New York Times, Fox News, and an English website, AlJazeera.net, to
name a few, the article points out the varying differences and biases generated based
upon the omission of certain factual information, the choice of words, and the
credibility of the sources. Despite journals being presented with the same underlying
information, the information that is presented to the public varies greatly in both the
tone and mission from news article to news article. This is further elaborated as a
way for the news media to appeal to certain types of demographics. For example,
through wording an article in such a way that presents a military action conducted by
the U.S. military as a ruthless act of
Similarities Between Blade Runner And Blade Runner
Science fiction in film is used to depict speculative phenomenons that are not
socially accepted by ordinary science, mostly raising the question what does it
means to be considered human? . Frequently, artificial intelligence is what science
fiction uses to answer this question. After watching two sci fi films one being
Blade Runner and the other being Forbidden Planet I noticed that each are
centered around immensely divergent portrayals of artificial intelligence. Blade
Runner, directed by Ridley Scott and written by Hampton Fancher and David
Webb peoples, is about four replicants that steal a ship in space and return to earth
to find their creator each being terminated by Blade Runner, Rick Deckard
(Harrison Ford). Forbidden Planet, directed by Fred M. Wilcox and written by
Cyril Hume an Irvin Block, is about A starship crew going to investigate a planet s
colony only to find two survivors and a secret that one of them has. By using
Asimov s Law of Robotics I will be comparing/contrasting these two movies. In
Forbidden Planet, Robby the servant and bodyguard to Dr. Morbius and Altaria,
considered to be one of tv s friendliest robots was created to protect the two
remaining survivors. The robot will not harm any human being which is apparent
when the starship crew visits the two survivors house and Robby is nothing but
hospitable clearly coinciding with Asimov s law one of robots which states that a
robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a

The company may not distribute the whole of its profits among its shareholders. It

5. Term loans from banks
As with short term finance, banks are an important source of longer term finance.
Many industrial development banks, cooperative banks and commercial banks grant
medium term loans for a period of three to five years. For businesses, using bank
loans might be relatively easy but the cost of servicing the loan (paying the money
and interest back) can be high. If interest rates rise then it can add to a businesses cost.

Impact Of Hunting On Tropical Forests
In the article Impacts of Hunting on Tropical Forests in Southeast Asia, by Harrison
and others, the authors examine how a wide variety of factors have influenced
hunting practices in Southeast Asia and led to a rapid decline in animal populations
in the region. According to the criteria outlined by Clark, the problem in this article is
well defined: the practices employed by hunters are unsustainable and indiscriminate,
destroying large numbers of vulnerable and rare animal species. Solutions must be
found to protect these species while also respecting the cultural rights of those to hunt.
Hunting in Southeast Asia is largely an informal, indiscriminate activity that is often
undertaken by amateurs. Hunters often venture out without a specific quarry in mind
or hunting may be incidental to other activities...Indiscriminate methods, such as
snares and gum traps (for birds), are commonplace, and even hunters with shotguns
frequently shoot smaller quarry. (Harrison, 2016, Pg. 975)
Because little emphasis is placed on selecting certain species, rare and endangered
species often fall victim to non selective hunting methods, but certain species can be
purposefully targeted as well. ...the highest value items, such as elephant ivory,
rhinoceros horn, tiger bones, turtles, and pangolin, are inevitably traded illegally to
Vietnam or China... Indeed, the killing of a rare animal is sometimes celebrated
because of its rarity (Harrison, 2016, Pg. 975).

As I finished the last words of the novel, my jaw dropped. It s such an incredible
classic book. Not truly a science fiction lover, I did not really think I would enjoy it,
as I don t really like the aliens and spaceships in other science fiction novels. The
novel is, at first glimpse, a little peculiar and strange, but once you really get into it,
you realize how sad and how good of a moral this story has. It really draws you in
and opens your eyes to the world around you.
The story is told in such a unique way that it hooked me in after the first chapter. It
is told in progress reports of the main character, Charlie Gordon, which is such an
academically genius idea because the reader is able to see how Charlie s intelligence
grows. The opening paragraph (the first progress report), throws us into this world.
Personally, I really do recommend reading this book. The impact the novel can
make on a person and how it easily the novel shies away from the stereotypical ideal
classical novel is incredible. It is definitely required reading in my

Diary Entry 1
July 31, 1943
My name is Primo Michele Levi. Todays my birthday. I am 24 years old, born in
Turin, Italy. I have one sibling, Anne Maria Levi. Anne Maria and I have always
been very close, I was always considered small and shy, and I was a frequent target
of bullying. I also thought poorly of myself aswell, I often thought others viewed
me as ugly and scrawny. I had also excelled academically, always having straight A
s and was the smartest student in my grade. By early teens I had liked chemistry a
lot. When I was 11 I entered the Massimo d Azeglio Royal Gymnasium. In class I
was the youngest, the shortest, and the smartest. I was also the only Jewish kid.
When I was 13 I joined the Avanguardisti movement. I joined the ski division, and
spent every Saturday during the season on the skiing above Turin. When I was 17, I
failed my final exam. It was my first bad grade ever. At the end of the summer I
took the exam again and passed, and in October. I got into the University of Turin
to study chemistry. I spent three months taking classes, and in February, after
passing my oral exam, I was chosen to do a full time chemistry class. In 1941, I
graduated. Today, my family and I are fleeing to northern Italy, where we plan to join
an Italian resistance group.

Lorenzo De Mussolini Beliefs
Lorenzo de Medici was the most important member of the Medici family. He was
called the Magnificent because he was the one that saved Florence, and because
he played a very important role in patronizing arts. He was born in Florence in a time
were Italy was tarring apart because almost every city state was having problems in
economics, and political situations. Lorenzo was the son of Piero de Medici, and the
grandson of Cosimo de Medici. Cosimo knew that his son Piero was weak, and he
wasn t capable of being the ruler of Florence, so what Cosimo did was to train his
grandson Lorenzo since he was a little boy, he gave him the proper education, and
advice him the most wisely ways on how to put authority, and be a leader.
Lorenzo de Medici started ruling Florence when he was 20 years old with his
brother Guliano after his father Piero died. Lorenzo started ruling a Florence with
economy problems despite that Cosimo made Florence wealthy, Florence money
was decreasing because of the wars, political expenses and the mismanagement.

Comparative Essay David Hume vs. John Locke
Comparing John Locke against David Hume : Empiricism
John Locke and David Hume, both great empiricist philosophers who radically
changed the way people view ideas and how they come about. Although similar in
their beliefs, the two have some quite key differences in the way they view
empiricism. Locke believed in causality, and used the example of the mental
observation of thinking to raise your arm, and then your arm raising, whereas Hume
believed that causality is not something that can be known, as a direct experience of
cause, cannot be sensed. Locke believed that all knowledge is derived from our
senses, which produce impressions on the mind which turn to ideas, whereas Hume s
believed that all knowledge is derived from experiences, ... Show more content on

Hume rejected lockes theory of experiencing cause. He argued that you do not feel
the connection between your mind and arm, and thus don t sense the cause of the
muscles contracting to raise your arm. Cause, in Hume s mind, is a synthetic
experience used to explain the unobservable things in reality. To help explain he
used the billiard ball experiement. Ball A is hit and put into motion towards ball
B.When ball A collides with ball B the cause of ball B s movement is not
experienced, there is no observable connection between the two. This would mean
that there is no way to be certain that everytime Ball A collides with ball B that ball
B will move, ball A could just as likely bounce off and begin rolling in a random
direction. He believd that there is no way of knowing for certain the outcome of an
event without being able to perceive the cause.
John Locke s theory of knowledge stated that all knowledge is derived from the
senses, that are converted into impressions, that are then made into ideas, either
simple or complex. Simple ideas are ones that involve only one sense, whereas
complex ideas consist of multiple simple ideas being combined to create a vivid one.
Ideas have two qualities, primary qualities, and secondary qualities. Primary qualities
are things that are perceived the same for everyone, and secondary qualities are the
individual perceptions of

Examples of Jung’s Analytical Archetype Theory in the
Film...
Martin Scorsese directed the movie Shutter Island, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, that
came out on February 19, 2010. The movie portrays many different examples of
critical theory. Having watched the movie before my analysis, when I heard of Jung s
Analytical Archetype theory I linked it with this movie almost immediately. Carl Jung
, a Swiss psychiatrist, developed the idea that all archetypes are universal images that
come from the collective unconsciousand are almost instinctive to us all. Jung s
critical theory examines the unique personal collective unconscious of the characters
in the film. These can vary anywhere from forgotten memories to traumas, keeping all
religious, spiritual, and mythological symbols and experiences intact. It is from this
point of view that it becomes easier to explain all the similarities between stories.
There are three factors when you look at archetypes, which are characters, situations,
and symbols.
Plot Overview
Shutter Island is set in the 50 s and Edward Daniels, Teddy, is the protagonist we
first encounter in the beginning of the movie. He s portrayed as a US Marshall who
s sent to Shutter Island where there s a psychiatric facility, Ashecliffe Hospital to
investigate the disappearance of a female patient with his new partner Chuck Aule.
Teddy tells Chuck that he wanted to get this case because the man who killed his
wife in a fire, Andrew Laeddis, was also on the island and went missing months ago.

the extent to which it affects the people, depression, poverty, and stress is closely
connected to alcohol abuse and appears to be the same for both men and women

Government assistance is needed to help low income women out of their current
situations. Research has found that while stress contributes to alcoholism, a positive
social support can prevent alcohol abuse from taking place (Mulia, Schmidt, Bond,
Jacobs, Korcha, 2008). African Americans represent 12 percent of the U.S.
population, and more than half are women, and about 35 percent of those women live
in poverty (U.S. Census Bureau, 2000). There are various patterns when it comes to
drinking and alcohol addiction. Trends in alcohol use among African American
women show four percent of women aging from 19 to 29 years of age consume
alcohol daily, while women ages 40 to 49 have the highest intake of alcohol
consumption for women. Even though admissions to substance abuse treatment
centers, among African Americans, have declined over the past twenty seven years,
African American women continue to make up 25 percent of the center s population.

The Negative Influences Of Procrastination
Negative Influences of Procrastination We ve all had a paper due on a Wednesday
that we had known about for the past two weeks, but for some unknown and
involuntary reason, we choose to save it for a Tuesday evening, which turns into a
Wednesday morning as we frantically work to finish an assignment we probably
could have finished in class over a couple of days. We may have been preoccupied
those couple of weeks, with a job, or sports; maybe even putting together a
fundraiser of some sort. Or maybe, we haven t been busy at all, and have chosen to
go home after class and eat rice cakes and watch Netflix all afternoon, into the
evening, and continuously tell ourselves I ll get it done tomorrow. Many of us have
a habit of making nearly every important task, (whether it be homework, paying a
bill, making a phone call, or even booking a trip) an oh, I ll do that tomorrow type of
job. What most of us realize, but choose to ignore, is that continuously putting of
these duties of ours will not only have negative consequences on the result of the job
that needs to be done, but on our mental physical and mental health as well. People
may have excuses for leaving things to the last minute, but the hard truth that they
need to accept is that they are a habitual procrastinator. It is imperative that we
understand that procrastinationwill (eventually, if not immediately) have effects on
our lives, from downward spirals in our happiness and personal satisfaction, to
destroying our
Pros And Cons Of Buying Organs
While I agree that a persona has a right to choose what happens to/with their body, I
do not think patients should be able to sell and/or purchase needed organs. If
people were allowed to buy and sell organs, I think we would be opening a big can of
worms, as the saying goes, that we do not want to open. There are multiple reasons
why this would not be a good idea.
First of all, if we were to institute the system of buying and selling organs, a gap
between the upper class and those in the lower class would most likely form. It
would separate the people who could afford organs from the people who could not.
This could also interfere with the donor registry. For example, say you found a donor
that matched someone from the upper class and another patient from the lower class.
If the person of lower economic standing was next in line for the organ, but the donor
(or the donor s family, if diseased) was offered money from the wealthy recipient,
that organ could go to the wealth person, rather than the one who would have been
next on the list (and possibly having more of a need for it). Therefore, I think it is
unethical to buy/sell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once again, money is a significant incentive for people to do things they may
otherwise not have done. If someone is in need of money, and they are offered a
large amount to say, donate a kidney, I don t believe this would be considered ethical.
It is reminiscent of prostitution, in that a person is sell their body (or in this case
part of their body) in exchange for money. A couple reasons prostitution is
considered immoral in society is because it can involve exploitation and coercion.
Similarly, those who are desperate for money can be exploited and coerced into
becoming involved in selling their organs. Not only is this behavior immoral, but
there may also be health consequences for the living donors who sell their organs for
Professionalism Skill
Professionalism skill is characterized by our inward character, the conduct we
show, as well as the picture we anticipate. It is about great administration to others
through our work as well as a sharp regard for others rights. Employers reveal to us
that these are the qualities most significant to achievement in the working
environment as well as are regularly viewed as more essential than the expertise of
the business. They need labourers who can coexist with others, are
straightforward, touch base at work on time, have high moral benchmarks as well
as great relational abilities. From their point of view, it is this collection of
characteristics that portray a significant employee as well as a true expert. Pulling
into as well as continuing attracted also unflinching labourers are vital to the
accomplishment of a business. Enabling capable improvement shows our gathering
we consider their progress and in addition their future, and also it motivates
steadfastness in employees. Employees are continually being evaluated on their
insight as well as abilities. So we can remain on top of the business. Professionalism

Dressing up suitably is an absolute necessity. Nonetheless, in this advanced as well
as time, a few organizations are not that specific any longer with regards to

assess our working environment. It is as yet safe to wear clothing that requires an

The Importance Of Foreign Policy In The Asia-Pacific
Australia s position in the Asia pacific remains strategically important to our domestic
and international interests. Therefore, it is vital to maintain stability in this region for
Australia s economic prosperity and continued preservation of Australia s values of
cooperation and freedom in international territories.
Summary
Foreign policymakers within Australia face the challenge of establishing policy that
retains American engagement with Australia (based on our historic alliances), while
acknowledging Americas recent shift toward domestic priorities. Foreign policy will
need to promote ongoing security, political and economic stability within the APR,
continuing to acknowledge the global shift of international trade toward Asia. ... Show

125). President Xi s rise and uncanny resemblance to authoritarianism of the past,
alongside Chinas growing military and GDP is a concern for the region. Though sea
lanes are becoming more crowded and contested with the balance of economic weight
shifting, it is not wise to presume that military engagement is inevitable. Rather it is
important to align Australias interest with long term regional security goals and
continued skepticism of Chinese movement south and their defencive/offensive effort
to retain and increase access to energy and other resources. Though it is assured by
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang that China will never seek dominance (Roggeveen
2017), Australia should proceed with caution and firmness. Our alliance with the US
historically has been to continue support of their presence in the APR though an
increase of this could prove damaging based on what Levy describes as military
escalation due to organisational structures and implementation (Levy 1986 pg. 193).
Consideration is also needed in regard to America s foreign policy outlook and the
Trump administrations domestic prioritisation. The outlook over the next decade
requires Australian foreign policy makers to consider the further growth of our
economic relationship with our Asian neighbours, the continued advancement of
China and India, as well as the United States resolve to remain
Comparing The Masks Of The Carnevale Di Viareggio
The Carnevale di Viareggio is an annual festival held in the beautiful city in Venice.
The Carnival ends with the Christian celebration of Lent, which is forty days before
Easter, on Shrove Thursday. The festival is world famous because of its elaborate,
detailed and amazing masks.
Masks have always been an important feature of the Venetian carnival. Usually people
could wear them between the festival of Santo Stephens s day and the start of the
carnival season, midnight, on Shrove Tuesday.
Venetian masks can be made of leather or porcelain. The original masks were rather
simple and plain in design, decoration, and often had a symbolic and efficient
function. Nowadays, most Italian masks are made with the materials of gesso and
gold leaf and
Compare And Contrast Jonathan Swift And A Modest
Proposal
Perhaps, Jonathan Swift is a more successful and entertaining writer to read than
George Orwell. For example, novels like Gulliver s Travel demonstrate the talent
Swift has in literature over Orwell s. They both wrote various well known novels
but also, made social critical essays. On this occasion, essays like Shooting an
Elephant by George Orwelland A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift. In these essays
may be found big similarities and small differences; being as they are both
criticizing different things. There are more differences than similarities as expected.
Also, both of the essays are of different topics in all manners. Both try to solve the
social critic in similar ways, and that is affecting the community in a negative way

In fact, the essays talk about how both authors used to live, which is what makes the
essays a social critic. Another thing they have in common in that both authors wrote
the essay in first person. As a matter of fact, as the essays were social critics, the
authors wrote about their disagreements with the situation represented in the essays.
Each of the authors gives their opinion of the topic and gives different solutions,
whether negative or positive, but in this case, both knew there were better ways to do
things. George Orwell as well as Jonathan Swift wanted to change the perspective of
the audience through their essays. Although, they didn t achieve to make the change
they hoped they had hope that somebody would pay attention to what they wrote.
Without a doubt, that is what took these two authors to be the successful and
recognized today and be given to children in English literature. Both essay are written
making reference to different social problems but written the same way. The essays
both have important symbols which stand for important part of each authors
Dichotomy Of Order In The Lego Movie
Lego Paper The Lego Movie illustrates Friedrich Nietzsche s theory of the opposing
Apollonian and Dionysian impulses. The terms come from two gods of Greek
mythology, Apollo and Dionysus. Apollo representing order and stasis and Dionysus
representing movement and instinct. In the movie, the opposing impulses are
manifested in the free spirited Master Builders and systematic Lord Business. The
battle between the Master Builders and Lord Business shows the two impulses in
competition, in the end both groups work together to create a balance between the
two extremes of anarchy and standardization. Friedrich Nietzscheused the terms
Apollonian Impulse and Dionysian impulse in his book The Birth of Tragedy to

Emmett s plan is to make an Octan delivery spaceship according to instructions in
order to blend in with all the other ones and sneak in the building. The Master

impulse that contradicts their usual Dionysian style. Unikitty wants to put flowers
on the spaceship and Emmett has to remind everyone to stick to the instructions.
The lego characters are all an imaginative story of a young boy playing with his
father s legos. Emmett jumps off the top of Lord Business s tower and enters the
real world where we see the boy and his father. The boy follows his Dionysian
impulse like the Master Builders and wants to mix the sets of legos. The dad is
Apollonian like Lord Business, the legos are not toys but his sculptures that he
wants to preserve with the Krazy glue. Just as Lord Business and the Master

The Sistine Chapel By Michelangelo
The Sistine Chapel was painted by Michelangelo during the High Renaissance.
Michelangelo depicted nine scenes from the Old Testament onto the Sistine Chapel
ceiling. The Sistine Chapel was painted between 1508 and 1512 by Michelangelo.
Michelangelo was originally a sculptor. Some common characteristics that can be
found in the paintings are depth, blue backgrounds, anatomy, detail and more. Many
characteristics from the Renaissancecan be found in the Sistine Chapel, which proves
that the Sistine Chapel is Renaissance art. My thesis is the use of these new
techniques have not been seen in earlier art periods such as, depth, detail, bold colors,
realism and more displays that the Sistine Chapel is Renaissance Art.

Holden Caulfield Hypocrite
In J.D. Salinger s novel titled, The Catcher in the Rye the main character named
Holden Caulfield tells us about his life adventures after he got expelled from his
previous high school, Pencey. Caulfield learns many things from his adventures
and learns important life lessons. You see, Holden is a complex character who
exhibits many traits. For one, Holden is a hypocrite; he believes one thing when
he really does not. For example, he preaches that people should be themselves and
not be phony but yet he fakes his name most of the time and tries to be someone he
is not. Although Holden is a hypocrite, he stands up for his morals, and he is very
empathetic. Holden cares for others, even though it might seem as if he does not.
Holden is quite remarkable because he is willing to do anything if it means that he
gets to stand up for what he believes in. He is also a remarkable person due to the
fact that he learns from his past and tries not to make the same mistakes again. You

hat that I d bought in New York that morning. It was this red hunting hat, with one
of those very, very long peaks....The way I wore it, I swung the old peak way
around to the back very corny, I ll admit, but I liked it that way. I looked good in it
that way (Salinger 21). Although, he always tries to lose the hat when he is in
crowds, indicating that he is a bit self conscious of himself even though he tries to
make himself stand out. Holden does not like phonies because they are foolish and
immature. Yet again, he is foolish and immature himself. For these reasons, Holden is

The Gaviscon antacid was the most effective at neutralising the hydrochloric acid as
an entire tablet, with 90.1 mL neutralised.
2.Using your data, determine which antacid is more effective at neutralising acid per
gram.
The most effective antacid per gram was also Gaviscon, with 107.26 mL of HCl
neutralised per gram of the antacid.
Discussion/Errors:
Firstly, although it was written in the controlled variables earlier, my group did not
follow the idea of one person performing the same job each test. This may have
altered the results, as each member of the group would measure, pour, calculate (etc.)
substances differently to each other. However, this could simply be avoided for next
time by ensuring that each student has only one or two specific jobs, and they do not
change to others during the
Speech About Communication
The people we interact with on a day to day and throughout our lives have a sway
over the path our lives take us down. I have been influenced by friends, family,
neighbors, strangers, classmates, we re even influenced by the people we interact
with on a day to day and those we meet due to a chance encounter. The people we
encounter speak their own language whether it be with their bodies, their speech,
or the archetype they fall into. We speak back and these endless conversations we
re having influence not just our day to day but our quality of life. I am most
literate in friendships the people, I ve chosen to keep company with, they ve
influenced me in many ways for better and worse. I ve succeeded at school because
of a good friend group, I have a nearly failed out of school due to some friendships,
and I am here today on the opposite side of the country from where I grew up
because I wanted to not only distance myself from past relationships but because I
strive to be better than the people I have come to know. Friends are the people we
choose to spend our time with and by being literate in the language these people
closest to us speak we can improve our relationships even improving our selection of
friend. Communicationis a skill essential to everyone we all need to be able to
communicate and understand one another without that ability life is nearly
impossible. We communicate with everyone differently we tailor our language to

that have a set religionsuch as Christianity, Catholicism, Judaism, or simply being

Similar to shamans are priest and ministers; they have higher authority in a religious
community. They also guide people through prayer to fight off evil energy/spirits.
Shamans help communities too. They claim to have special powers, although they
are not religious. Another religion that intertwines with shamanism is Buddhism.
They both have strong spiritual beliefs, and meditate to go into a different state.

Negative Self Esteem
Positive self perception and self esteem is crucial to the well being of all
individuals. Therefore, the negative self perception and low self esteem of children
and adolescents who have attracted disability labels is concerning, especially because
these qualities seem to digress as students progress from elementary grades, to middle
years, and to high school. While society has made many strides toward full inclusion
of students with disabilities, it is clear that, for various reasons, simply including
students who attracted disabilitylabels in the classroom is not improving how these
students perceive or feel about themselves. Understanding why and what can be
done is critical to ensure that all students well being, including a positive sense of
self and sense of belonging, is supported by our schools and by society in general.
While the development of self esteem is fundamental for children s and adolescents
adaptive functioning and perceived well being , many children who have attracted
disability labels report negative self perceptions and low self esteem (JemtГҐ, Fugl
Meyer, Г–berg, Dahl, 2009, p. 568). In fact, many of these children have been
taught to hate themselves because of their disability and lack of any abilities deemed
positive (Rodis, Garrod, Boscardin, 2001a, p. 18). They often feel less than those
around them, partly because others perceive them as less than , too. For this, they
feel guilt and embarrassment, frustration and loss of control
Sn2 Reaction Lab Report
Theory:
SN2 reactions are one class of organic reactions that deal with substituting one
group with another group. The group that leaves is known as the leaving group
and the group that substitutes is the nucleophile. In order for SN2 to occur, there
needs to be a good leaving group and good nucleophile. Good leaving groups are
those that are weak bases. Nucleophiles should be strong for SN2. Solvent also
plays an effect for SN2 reactions. Polar aprotic solvents are polar solvents without a
hydrogen. That play a role with SN2 reactions. SN2 are bimolecular meaning that the
rate of the reactions depends not only of the alkyl halide or other starting material but
also the nucleophile or the material that substitutes. However, the reaction is ... Show

Is America A Republic Essay
The United State of America from the very beginning is a republic and still remains
a republic. It has never been a democracy even though some people argue that it is a
democracy. The founding fathers gave the country a republic and this was a result of
their beliefs that democracy is evil and dangerous. According to Ron Paul, the
republicsystem was instituted to protect individual and property rights from tyranny.
He further claims that the individual rights of minorities are endangered by majority
rule or democracy. ( see Williams .P. Meyers; America: Republic or Democracy)
Americans are generally made to believe that, they the people hold the utmost
power to their nation. However , it would be safe to a reasonable extent that
America is nowhere near being a democratic nation. Note that the only reason why
America is said to be a democracy is simply because it allows its citizens the right to
elect those who will represent them both at the state and district level.
Nowadays , many people now agree that America has never been or nor had the
intention to be purely a democratic nation. Looking from various views of scholars,
some have classified America as a federal republic or as a constitutional republic. In
facts this is true. A true representation of the framers of the... Show more content on

76.5 Based on the data, solubility of Potassium Nitrate and temperature are directly
proportional. This is indicated in the results of the experiment because as the amount
of solute in the solution increases, the solubility of the solution increases. As the
solubility increases, the temperature also increases, meaning that the relationship is
directly proportional. Most of the fish death occurred in the month of December,
when water temperature was relatively cold compared to other months in the year.
Because it was experimentally determined that solubility and temperature is directly
proportional, if the water temperature is low, this means that the solubility is also
low. By analyzing the solubility curves of Ammonium Nitrate and Ammonium
Phosphate, it can be concluded that enough Ammonium Nitrate or Ammonium
Phosphate can be dissolved in the river water during December that would be
dangerous to the fish.
However, by looking at the data of the Nitrate and Phosphate Concentrations in the

How Does Ginsberg Influence The Beat Movement
Poetry is the one place where people can speak their original human mind. It is the
outlet for people to say in public what is known in private. Allen Ginsberg. These
words truly capture Allen Ginsberg s feelings of poetry as an expressive art form. In
his writing he speaks things that people wouldn t dare to usually touch upon. With
his audacity and cynical outlook on life, Ginsberg countlessly influenced the Beat
Movement of the 1950 s. Born in Newark, New Jersey, 1926, Allen Ginsbergwas
known in the poetryworld for the cutthroat social commentary presented in his
work. With a mentally ill mother, and a strict disciplinarian father, Ginsberg s
troubled childhood is considered to be one of the main inspirations for his writing.
His father introduced him to poetry, and his main influence was his high school
mentor, William Carlos Williams. (Allen Ginsberg 1) Ginsberg was a major figure
in the Beat Poetry movement. The Beat Movement involved a literary group
challenging materialism and conformity while also focusing on expressing their
individuality. It took place from 1950 1959, in Post War America. The movement s
main branches were in San Francisco, Southern California, and New York (Beat

Who Is Benedict Arnold A Traitor
Desiring recognition and the feeling of pride brings a fullness in life so if you
were to not being given the proper recognition, if you were utterly ignored, if you
were tossed aside and others received credit for your very own work, is if you were
faced to choose between taking the high road and becoming a better human being
or would you act out in vengeance? Benedict Arnold s historical acclaim is often
associated with the traitor activity, by examining the experiences with Arnold,
Americans are able to appreciate his leadership prior to his betrayal; his character
is really revealed through his past and all that he accomplished for his beloved
country. Benedict Arnold sacrificed a lot for the greater good of the American
people. Arnold is not given recognition for all of the victories that he had been
involved in and at a time during a promotion he gets passed up by low ranking, less
talented, less dedicated men than himself. Major General Horatio Gates took
credit for the victory. As if that weren t enough of an insult, Congress had
promoted five officers all Arnold s juniors and most far less talented over him.
Even back then politics was part of the equation as Congress ignored Washington s
consistent backing and praise for Arnold, whom he admired as a fierce soldier.
(Beck 105). Also, Benedict Arnold was a hero before he turned traitor. And just how
he turned is a complicated story. Arnold made his name in upstate New York,

well as the aboriginal community, as they can help explain the context of what is

As it was stated, DeBeers was attempting to mislead the public by only providing
information about certain water sources that they did not contaminate, but decided to
hide information about the ones that had various chemicals in them that were
released. (Bridge, 2016) This is quite concerning as mercury and methylmercury,
which is a relative to mercury are both highly toxic, and can both pose a danger to
not only the animals, fish and vegetation in the area, but humans as well if it builds
up in the waterways. Their reports can be used not only with the Ontario government,
but with the company as well showing that they previously did not follow their
agreements, allowing the community to have a stronger voice during the negotiation
process.
It should be noted that the Ontario government requested the company to self monitor
itself and report on the mercury and methylmercury levels near the open pit Victor
mine, but the Wildlands League reports otherwise and this is a concern for the
community these events can happen in their area as well. This also raises concerns
with the government failing to provide proper oversight on the company s operations.
If the government sees that DeBeers did not follow their previous agreement that
they signed then this will mean stricter rules and oversight on the company. Plus
there will be harsher fines if they do not follow.

Willow Glen was first founded in 1950. The juniors and seniors were able to bring
one color from their former schools to make the classic colors of red and gold for
Willow Glen. The San Jose High School students brought the color red and the
Lincoln High School students brought the color gold. In the year 2005 Willow
Glen installed an all weather track. Before it had been a dirt track. John Owens,
who was a teacher at Willow Glen, became the Willow Glen Track coach. He began
that journey in 1982, and to this day still continues to coach track athletes. He has
mentored over one thousand athletes in his time at Willow Glen. The track for
some is a place to workout, while for others it s a place for victory. This place is
significant to me... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The runners who were naturally gifted often did not work hard, did not go the
extra mile, and when faced with hardships would often quit. The ones who worked
hard were dedicated and stronger runners as individuals. I fell in the place of the
hardworking group. I became more dedicated than most with my practice, diet, and
workouts. Coach would look to dedicate himself to the strongest from the talented
and hardworking individuals. When I stayed back with the few other dedicated
runners, it became rewarding knowing that I was going the extra mile. I slowly
began to learn that in order to keep up with my competitors I would have to work
twice as hard as them to only get half of their talent. I taught myself that practice
doesn t make perfect and perfect practice doesn t make perfect. I knew I would have
to practice until I could not get it wrong and that stuck with me during all my
practices and meets.
Laying down in bed the night before the meet was always nerve wracking,
wondering who was going to show up to the meet the next day. The drive over to the
track was often long and silent. Often thinking of every outcome of each race could
drive a runner insane. Finally arriving and seeing all the athletes, spectators, and the
crowd. The roar of the announcer echoing through the stadium. I stepped on the track
hoping to see a few familiar faces. The cold breeze blowing against my tracksuit. I
began to warm up and tuned out
Benefits Of Leather Jackets
Introduction
Is there anything more synonymous with the biker lifestyle than a leather jacket?
From James Dean to Armin Tamzarian, history s most beloved bikers all used
leather jackets as a means of rebelling against the suits and shattering conventions.
Today, however, bikers are shying away from leather jackets, largely due to the
expense. Novice bikers are instead purchasing cheaper textile and mesh models,
which while indeed effective, don t offer the same protection or style as a leather
model.
While the vast majority of worthwhile leather motorcycle jackets will set you back
at least a couple of hundred dollars, there are a number of quality models which can
be purchased for less. In this article, I m going to be showing you some ... Show more

It is this dedication to all aspects of the leather jacket experience which has made the
brand s Vintage Cafe Racer Leather Jacketso successful.
Pros
Handmade
Many motorcycle brands rely on a collection of machines to mass produce their
products, which has been known to drastically decrease the effectiveness and
longevity of the completed garments. The ABz Leathers Vintage Cafe Racer
Leather Jacket is handmade, so you can be sure careful attention was paid to every
stitch in order to make it as durable and as reliable as possible.
Multiple Pockets
You can have the most sturdy, padding packed motorcycle jacket in the world, but it
doesn t mean a thing if the jacket doesn t come with pockets in which you can store
essential items such as your wallet and smartphone. Motorcycles don t offer a
whole lot of storage room, so if you don t have pockets on your jacket, you can t
really bring anything with you. The Vintage Cafe Racer Leather Jacket boasts a
total of four deep front pockets, giving you plenty of room to store the items you
need to go about your daily

Analysis Of Timothy s God And The Lord Jesus Christ In 2 Timothy 4:1 4 Paul charges Timothy along with Christians of today with God and the Lord Jesus Christ as his witnesses to, Preach the Word! This exhortation does not come without merit, Paul gives his reasons in verse three and four why it is important. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. NASB reads, But wanting to have their ears tickled and this is exactly what is going on in the churches of Christ of today before they totally fall away to false doctrine. They want to please their own desires and instead of glorifying God they glorify themselves. In Current Issues Facing the Church notes, Robert Stapleton wrote a list of the things plaguing the churches and they all have to do with what man wants and not what the Lord wants. When it comes to worship of the church the sovereignty of God has been displaced by the sovereignty of the consumer, what we have ended up with is worship that is user friendly. In other words, whatever pleases man is the rule. The list reads this way not numbered in order of importance, 1. If we want mechanical instrumental music we have it, 2. If we want drama we have it, 3. If we want choirs we have them, 4. If we want testifying we have it, 5. If we want hand clapping we have it, 6. If we want.... we

Shapiro, discusses the interpretation of information based upon previously existing expectations. This is believed to lead news organizations to generate information being generated that appeals to specific demographics of consumers in order to build their own reputations among the public. In addition, the severity of media bias is discussed and the negative impact it has on public views as compared to unbiased information. The article purposes that competition between newsoutlets is a cause for decreased media bias, as opposed to an increase in its occurrence. 2. The main points of the article are focused around the way in which news is presented to the public. Through identifying multiple sources of news information, such as the New York Times, Fox News, and an English website, AlJazeera.net, to name a few, the article points out the varying differences and biases generated based upon the omission of certain factual information, the choice of words, and the credibility of the sources. Despite journals being presented with the same underlying information, the information that is presented to the public varies greatly in both the tone and mission from news article to news article. • 8. Similarities Between Blade Runner And Blade Runner Science fiction in film is used to depict speculative phenomenons that are not socially accepted by ordinary science, mostly raising the question what does it means to be considered human? . Frequently, artificial intelligence is what science fiction uses to answer this question. After watching two sci fi films one being Blade Runner and the other being Forbidden Planet I noticed that each are centered around immensely divergent portrayals of artificial intelligence. Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott and written by Hampton Fancher and David Webb peoples, is about four replicants that steal a ship in space and return to earth to find their creator each being terminated by Blade Runner, Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford). Forbidden Planet, directed by Fred M. Wilcox and written by Cyril Hume an Irvin Block, is about A starship crew going to investigate a planet s colony only to find two survivors and a secret that one of them has. By using Asimov s Law of Robotics I will be comparing/contrasting these two movies. In Forbidden Planet, Robby the servant and bodyguard to Dr. Morbius and Altaria, considered to be one of tv s friendliest robots was created to protect the two remaining survivors. The robot will not harm any human being which is apparent when the starship crew visits the two survivors house and Robby is nothing but hospitable clearly coinciding with Asimov s law one of robots which states that a robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a

Impact Of Hunting On Tropical Forests In the article Impacts of Hunting on Tropical Forests in Southeast Asia, by Harrison and others, the authors examine how a wide variety of factors have influenced hunting practices in Southeast Asia and led to a rapid decline in animal populations in the region. According to the criteria outlined by Clark, the problem in this article is well defined: the practices employed by hunters are unsustainable and indiscriminate, destroying large numbers of vulnerable and rare animal species. Solutions must be found to protect these species while also respecting the cultural rights of those to hunt. Hunting in Southeast Asia is largely an informal, indiscriminate activity that is often undertaken by amateurs. Although similar in their beliefs, the two have some quite key differences in the way they view empiricism. Locke believed in causality, and used the example of the mental observation of thinking to raise your arm, and then your arm raising, whereas Hume believed that causality is not something that can be known, as a direct experience of cause, cannot be sensed. Locke believed that all knowledge is derived from our senses, which produce impressions on the mind which turn to ideas, whereas Hume s believed that all knowledge is derived from experiences, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hume rejected lockes theory of experiencing cause. He argued that you do not feel the connection between your mind and arm, and thus don t sense the cause of the muscles contracting to raise your arm. Cause, in Hume s mind, is a synthetic experience used to explain the unobservable things in reality. To help explain he used the billiard ball experiement. Ball A is hit and put into motion towards ball B.When ball A collides with ball B the cause of ball B s movement is not experienced, there is no observable connection between the two. This would mean that there is no way to be certain that everytime Ball A collides with ball B that ball B will move, ball A could just as likely bounce off and begin rolling in a random direction. He believd that there is no way of knowing for certain the outcome of an event without being able to perceive the cause. John Locke s theory of knowledge stated that all knowledge is derived from the senses, that are converted into impressions, that are then made into ideas, either simple or complex. Simple ideas are ones that involve only one sense, whereas complex ideas consist of multiple simple ideas being combined to create a vivid one. Ideas have two qualities, primary qualities, and secondary qualities. Primary qualities are things that are perceived the same for everyone, and secondary qualities are the individual perceptions of

The movie portrays many different examples of critical theory. Having watched the movie before my analysis, when I heard of Jung s Analytical Archetype theory I linked it with this movie almost immediately. Carl Jung , a Swiss psychiatrist, developed the idea that all archetypes are universal images that come from the collective unconsciousand are almost instinctive to us all. Jung s critical theory examines the unique personal collective unconscious of the characters in the film. These can vary anywhere from forgotten memories to traumas, keeping all religious, spiritual, and mythological symbols and experiences intact. It is from this point of view that it becomes easier to explain all the similarities between stories. Pros And Cons Of Buying Organs While I agree that a persona has a right to choose what happens to/with their body, I do not think patients should be able to sell and/or purchase needed organs. If people were allowed to buy and sell organs, I think we would be opening a big can of worms, as the saying goes, that we do not want to open. There are multiple reasons why this would not be a good idea. First of all, if we were to institute the system of buying and selling organs, a gap between the upper class and those in the lower class would most likely form. It would separate the people who could afford organs from the people who could not. This could also interfere with the donor registry. For example, say you found a donor that matched someone from the upper class and another patient from the lower class. If the person of lower economic standing was next in line for the organ, but the donor (or the donor s family, if diseased) was offered money from the wealthy recipient, that organ could go to the wealth person, rather than the one who would have been next on the list (and possibly having more of a need for it). Hypothesis: It is predicted that the tablet advertising double strength will be the most effective at neutralising the hydrochloric acid either Mylanta or Gaviscon . Variables: Independent: The brands and types of antacid tablets as well as their weights will be the only independent variables in this prac. Dependent: The amount of hydrochloric acid poured into the antacid solution is the chemical to be measured in the experiment. Controlled: The substance that will be kept the same is the distilled water for the solution. Also, the same person must perform the same job for each antacid test. The most effective antacid per gram was also Gaviscon, with 107.26 mL of HCl neutralised per gram of the antacid. Discussion/Errors: Firstly, although it was written in the controlled variables earlier, my group did not follow the idea of one person performing the same job each test. This may have altered the results, as each member of the group would measure, pour, calculate (etc.) substances differently to each other. However, this could simply be avoided for next time by ensuring that each student has only one or two specific jobs, and they do not change to others during the

  • 36. Negative Self Esteem Positive self perception and self esteem is crucial to the well being of all individuals. Therefore, the negative self perception and low self esteem of children and adolescents who have attracted disability labels is concerning, especially because these qualities seem to digress as students progress from elementary grades, to middle years, and to high school. While society has made many strides toward full inclusion of students with disabilities, it is clear that, for various reasons, simply including students who attracted disabilitylabels in the classroom is not improving how these students perceive or feel about themselves. Understanding why and what can be done is critical to ensure that all students well being, including a positive sense of self and sense of belonging, is supported by our schools and by society in general. While the development of self esteem is fundamental for children s and adolescents adaptive functioning and perceived well being , many children who have attracted disability labels report negative self perceptions and low self esteem (JemtГҐ, Fugl Meyer, Г–berg, Dahl, 2009, p. 568). In fact, many of these children have been taught to hate themselves because of their disability and lack of any abilities deemed positive (Rodis, Garrod, Boscardin, 2001a, p. 18). They often feel less than those around them, partly because others perceive them as less than , too. For this, they feel guilt and embarrassment, frustration and loss of control

It has never been a democracy even though some people argue that it is a democracy. The founding fathers gave the country a republic and this was a result of their beliefs that democracy is evil and dangerous. According to Ron Paul, the republicsystem was instituted to protect individual and property rights from tyranny. He further claims that the individual rights of minorities are endangered by majority rule or democracy. ( see Williams .P. Meyers; America: Republic or Democracy) Americans are generally made to believe that, they the people hold the utmost power to their nation. However , it would be safe to a reasonable extent that America is nowhere near being a democratic nation. Note that the only reason why America is said to be a democracy is simply because it allows its citizens the right to elect those who will represent them both at the state and district level. The Solubility And Temperature Of Ammonium Nitrate The Solubility and Temperature Experiment was performed to find the relationship between the solubility and temperature of Potassium Nitrate. This experiment was done to analyze the effect if water temperature on the amount of dissolved phosphates and nitrates in solution, which are two major pollutants that cause fish death. Below is the results of the experiment. Test Tube Mass (g) Temperature of Crystallization (В°C) 2.0 34.1 4.0 47.9 6.0 59.5 8.0 76.5 Based on the data, solubility of Potassium Nitrate and temperature are directly proportional. This is indicated in the results of the experiment because as the amount of solute in the solution increases, the solubility of the solution increases. As the solubility increases, the temperature also increases, meaning that the relationship is directly proportional. Most of the fish death occurred in the month of December, when water temperature was relatively cold compared to other months in the year. Because it was experimentally determined that solubility and temperature is directly proportional, if the water temperature is low, this means that the solubility is also low. By analyzing the solubility curves of Ammonium Nitrate and Ammonium Phosphate, it can be concluded that enough Ammonium Nitrate or Ammonium Phosphate can be dissolved in the river water during December that would be dangerous to the fish. However, by looking at the data of the Nitrate and Phosphate Concentrations in the White River during the First 16

Benedict Arnold s historical acclaim is often associated with the traitor activity, by examining the experiences with Arnold, Americans are able to appreciate his leadership prior to his betrayal; his character is really revealed through his past and all that he accomplished for his beloved country. Benedict Arnold sacrificed a lot for the greater good of the American people. Arnold is not given recognition for all of the victories that he had been involved in and at a time during a promotion he gets passed up by low ranking, less talented, less dedicated men than himself. Major General Horatio Gates took credit for the victory. As if that weren t enough of an insult, Congress had promoted five officers all Arnold s juniors and most far less talented over him. Even back then politics was part of the equation as Congress ignored Washington s consistent backing and praise for Arnold, whom he admired as a fierce soldier. (Beck 105). Also, Benedict Arnold was a hero before he turned traitor. And just how he turned is a complicated story. Arnold made his name in upstate New York, fighting for control of a chain of
