Communication Theories by Werner Joseph Severin Essay
Werner Joseph Severin explored communication theories on a wide range through this book, and as
our lives are based entirely on communication persuasion is used daily in different forms, based on
different theories, aiming at changing our attitudes and directing them towards the desired outcome,
therefore chapter 8 theories of persuasion focused on persuasion. As being exposed to new
information every day and changing our attitudes accordingly persuasion has reached its goal, for
example, if you like something and new information you have been exposed to changed your attitude
towards it, then this is a successful persuasion communication. Persuasion can affect our beliefs as
will, as what you believe to be true can be altered by a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The research involved a number of variables that are manipulated very carefully to note there effects.
Additionally, according to Hovland attitudes are learned and are changed through the same process of
learning.
The experimental section of the research branch of the war department s information and education
division evaluated studies of films already existing, and had experimental studies where two versions
of the same film were compared, the second type of research set the way for the rest of the attitude
change research. The first task that this section took upon as evaluating the first four films of a series
of films called why we fight , which was designed to motivate American soldiers to fight in the war.
This research became part of the evidence suggesting that strong held attitudes are less likely to
change because of one mass communication message. On the top of that researchers began then to
examine attitude change due to the cognitive process, which means that receivers of the message
actively think about the message and change their attitude. But more recent theories reveal that a
number of variables working together at the same time results in attitude change. furthermore, to
change attitudes there are specific techniques to follow, the first technique is the one sided and two
sided messages, which is basically either presenting one side of the message

Ruby Career Counseling
This paper will provide an introduction to the career counseling process through the examination of
Ruby, a client, and how her case could be handled. It will provide basic background information about
Ruby and her current career situation. In addition, I will explore the career counseling process
beginning with a look at the overall goals of career counseling theories to Ruby s situation. Finally,
formal and informal tools will be introduced and recommended in an effort to demonstrate options for
providing Ruby with a comprehensive and effective career counseling process. Ruby is a 38 year old

To prevent Ruby from experiencing this feeling, we spoke about having a staff meeting to discuss
issues or concerns regarding office procedures, attend communication skill course, and have an open
communication relationship with everyone in the workplace; this will promote a healthy environment
for staff. At the end of our session, Ruby and I discussed next steps about moving forward with her
career goals. I informed her to look into master s program and then look into a sample business plan
and a draft budget proposal for her future clinic. I assist Ruby in assessing her interest and opinions,
clarify her goals, encourage her to keep it up despite obstacles (communication) and create a plan of
actions. Lastly, I gave Ruby a binder of all the handout and materials we spoke about during our
sessions. As Ruby left my office, I believe she will achieve in the future and her life. There are many

The Benefits Of Social Media In Education
Social media are the most ordinarily used media to connect with the world because of its many
advantages and benefits. Many students are already involved in social networks and using it their daily
activities including educational purposes. Social media have changed the ways of learning and
providing pieces of information on education. It has been used in education nowadays more than ever
and showing beneficial results out of that. Uses of social media are increasing continuously in
education and both students and educators are becoming dependent on it. The reason behind this is, it
is simple to access, effortless to use and easy availability. Among many of the advantages of social
media in education, applying it for communication purposes, sharing class materials, files etc. for
classroom projects as well as uses of QR codes are some of the leading ones.
Defining social media is a tricky task to do because of its constant change (Tess, 2013). Ober and
Wildman have explained that social media involve a vast range of PC and mobile platforms which
continue to develop constantly, launched and re launched, abandoned also ignored daily in countries
all over the world that consist of various forms of communication (Ober Wildman, 2013). Although
Facebook is dominant face of social media (Tess, 2013) and twitter is one of the popular micro
blogging website (Tess, 2013), however in recent times, various social networking sites, blogs, wikis,

Negatives And Negatives Of 3d Printing
Every few years, a technological device emerges that changes the way we live our lives. From the
typewriter to the laptop computer, technology keeps improving. We are able to type documents, erase
as we choose and print as many copies as we like using a printer. Life was made easier for us.
Another device is about to change our lives 3D printing. The traditional way we print today is 2D
printing. We print on paper. The data we print cannot be touched physically. If we print a picture of a
shoe on a paper, we cannot hold that shoe physically in our hands. That is about to change with 3D
printing. This new technology will allow us to print almost anything we choose and we will be able to
feel that object.
Today we use forging, molding and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The virtual design can be made in a specific software such as a 3D modelling program. Once a
blueprint of the object is created, we send the digital file to the printer and it prints the object. This
benefits our company because all we would have to do is to create a 3D file. There would be no more
need for 2D modelling and we would save time on creating the design the customer wants.
There are different processes that allow 3D printing to occur but the most common one used currently
is Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM). A prominent tech blog states that when the digital file is sent
to the printer, the device slices the virtual design into horizontal layers. The material that is used to
make the object is then melted and the printer prints the object layer by layer until the full object is
created. Depending on the printer type, the material used can be rubber, plastics, paper, metals and
more. Our company would be able to make different prototypes of different materials with these
printers. There would be no need to get special tools for the different materials.
The emergence of 3D printing has helped many companies thus far. TechRepublic states that Boeing, a
well known company, uses the device. This airplane company has made over 20000 materials thus far
using 3D printers. Ford has also used the device to make car parts. They recently made their 500000th
part using the 3D printer. Not

Bangladesh Telecoms, Mobile, Broadband and Forecasts The outstanding success of the mobile
market, however, has been achieved in a Bangladesh that continues to struggle with its lowly
economic status, its frequent natural disasters such cyclones and floods and the slow implementation

local telecom market which remains stagnant with a teledensity of less than 1%, the lowest in South

Finance Major Essay
The definition of finance is rather complex but Merriam Webster seems to provide the most
comprehensive explanation, stating, the management of revenues; the conduct or transaction of money
matters generally, especially those affecting the public, as in the fields of banking and investment
(Merriam Webster). The management of revenues is essentially the core of what separates the jobs of
finance majors, compared to other business related majors such as accounting and economics. While
accountants identify where the money comes from, the finance people identify how to best use that
money. While economic majors study how to grow the entire economy of a country, finance majors
study how to value a company. The reason behind my decision to pursue a major in finance is because
I want to study how to manage money in a company and the role companies play in affecting the
banking system. Also, I am convinced that majoring in finance is one of the most effective and
efficient ways in becoming a successful entrepreneur. As a finance major, I can only study; as a
successful entrepreneur, I will be equipped with the resources to improve the lives of hundreds if not
thousands of people. According to Techtarget.com, Silicon Valley continues to be one of the country s
leading regions for high tech innovation and development, accounting for about one third of all
venture capital investment in the United States (Rouse). Based on this statement, readers would think

Summary Of Olaudah Equiano
The film tells the life story of Olaudah Equiano, from 1746 of his birth to 1796 of his death. A
documentary film less than hour on the life and struggle of a slave. It covers his life from age eleven,
when Equiano and his sister was abducted by European slave traders at the age and sold into slavery.
He later bought his freedom and became part of the abolition movement. From 1833, Slavery was
abolished 10 years later after Equiano death. The film also through showing Richard Baker taught
Equiano to read and write, guided him along the path of religion. As with Robert King, which was his

Lady In Paris
Known as one of the most famous Latin American writers, Julio Cortazar experimented with writing
techniques and existential questions in his work. One of his short stories, A Letter to a Young Lady in
Paris , is written in the form of a letter from the narrator to their significant other, Andrea, who is away
in Paris at the time. The narrator has decided to move into Andrea s apartment and is writing the letter
to attempt to explain that the damage Andrea will inevitably come home was caused by a group of
rabbits brought into the world through an anomaly the narrator experiences in which they vomit up a
live rabbit every few weeks. At the very end of the story, one realizes that this is no ordinary letter, but
actually the narrator s suicide note. The rabbits symbolize the narrator s desire for creative freedom,
which he continually attempts to suppress and keep under control, until the eleventh rabbit comes
along and acts as a catalyst, thereby changing their perception of life itself. The narrator introduces the
concept of them vomiting up rabbits as an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rabbits, especially white rabbits, are viewed as gentle, pure, harmless creatures, so the fact that this
particular animal is the manifestation of the narrator s demise is a statement that something doesn t

or negative, so because the narrator fears the negative side, they suppress desire as a whole, making
them shameful of any remnants that manages to escape. Ultimately, the narrator killing themself
shows that although it is possible, keeping a part of one s thoughts off limits is not a way to live one s
life. Life is about both the good and the bad, and trying to only experience a fraction of what life has

The Effect Of Analyzed Chemical Energy Of Sodium Chloride...
Practical Investigation: Enthalpy of Solution
Introduction
The enthalpy of a substance or solution refers to the chemical energy or heat content that is stored
within the substance. When a substance undergoes a reaction, the chemical energy in the substance is
released or more energy gets absorbed into the substance; this is known as exothermic and
endothermic reactions, respectively. Within this practical, the aim was to investigate the change in
stored chemical energy of a sodium chloride solution by measuring the temperature change that occurs
when sodium chloride is added to distilled water. The experiment was carried out by using a
calorimeter, to contain any energy that could be released in the reaction, and also a hand held
thermometer and digital thermometer to measure the change in temperature.
Aim
The aim of this practical is to investigate and compare the effectiveness of hand held thermometers
and digital probes through determining the enthalpy of sodium chloride solutions.
Hypothesis
When the sodium chloride is added into the water inside the calorimeter, an endothermic or
exothermic reaction will occur, indicating a change in enthalpy from the water to the solution. The
digital probe will most likely give a more accurate reading of the temperature change, thus giving
more accurate results.
Variables
Independent: the independent variables in this experiment were the water and the solution. The water
physically reacted with the sodium chloride to create a

The short story and Essay writing
Short stories are mainly written to grab the reader s attention and thus make them reflect and become
drawn into the story even more. So why is a short story important? They are important and effective
due to the fact that any reader can relate to the story or a particular character as they can be universal.
In this TMA I will be tracing the elements of conflicts within the three short stories. These conflicts
will consist of man vs man, man vs society and man vs nature. Furthermore, I will talk about the
internal and external conflicts in the stories in the following paragraphs.

The positive impact of the culture is that we can make the guests learn and appreciate more about
tradition with events and make people exchange culture with the local communities. For instance, the
Brazilian Turtle Conservation Program (TAMAR). When it opened in 1982, few tourist were visiting
and it had 500 turtles, but by 2008, there was an impressive growth in the number of tourists: 600000
each year, and this apparently led to a population (Stronza Pegas, 2008, 270 271). In other words,
experience tourism helps to preserve the local culture and communities, as they become a tourist

of modern society that will help them to come out of their traditional religious beliefs, morals and

A Research Study On Vascular Imaging
Introduction
Vascular ultrasound (US) is an established non invasive method of imaging the cardiovascular system.
It is cheap, accessible and provides a rapid diagnosis of many vascular diseases such as presence of
abdominal aortic aneurysm, deep vein thrombosis and limb arterial occlusions. The majority of
vascular ultrasound currently done in the UK is trans cutaneous ultrasound, in which the US probe
obtains images of the vessels from above the skin.
In recent years intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) has gained popularity in obtaining high resolution
images of the blood vessels from inside the vascular lumen, providing detailed information of the
vascular lesions and their anatomy.
In this review, utilisation of IVUS in different areas of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The standard IVUS sheaths are 9 Fr with a 0.035 inch guidewire, however 0.014 inch catheters are
available for smaller arteries (Kpodonu et al., 2008).
Once inside the target vessel, IVUS obtains 360 degrees cross sectional images. The sonic wave
reflections from the arterial wall differ depending on the structure of the arterial wall components.
Collagen and elastin produce a stronger sonic reflection thus a hyper echoic picture of the intima and
adventitia, whilst the smooth muscle cells in the media produce a hypo echoic picture due to reduced
sonic reflection from these structures (Kpodonu et al., 2008). New generation IVUS devices can
produce three dimensional pictures by stacking the two dimensional axial images during pull back of
the US catheter. The pull back could be done either manually or mechanically using a motor. 3 D
images are useful in assessment of endovascular device deployment failures, which might not be
detected in conventional angiographies. 3 D images are also helpful in sizing of the arteries and veins
for endovascular device planning (Weissman et al., 1995; Heuser et al., 1997).
IVUS can provide B mode and colour images from inside the vessels. The transducers frequencies are
generally between 10 MHz and 40MHz (Lee and White, 2004). New generation IVUS with
frequencies of 40MHz to 50MHz are useful for imaging the coronary arteries (Lee and White, 2004).
Although higher frequencies can produce higher resolution images, this would

AArgument On Imperialism
Imperialism is the practice of powerful nations attempting to acquire control over lesser nations;
typically, imperialism revolves around expanding or upholding influence. Historically, in The United
States, an imperialistic mindset is perceivable in the popular concept of manifest destiny. Again, in
1823, The United States seeks to exude international influence in publishing The Monroe Doctrine.
Later, the document is used as reasoning to invade territories. Evidently, the mindsets of many
Americans was intertwined with imperialism. The idea of growing a continental nation expanded into
international affairs. With The United States becoming involved in over seas empires, imperialism
became a topic of controversy. Arguments for expansion included ... Show more content on

Carnegie s ideas centered on the importance of internal advances. Roosevelt, who was a supporter of
imperialism, even stated, a nation s first duty is within its own borders. Carnegie questioned whether
America, Is . . . to exchange internal growth and advancement for the development of external
possessions which can never be really hers? The argument largely centered on upholding the quality of
life in America. Accordingly, Carnegie wrote, The luxuries of the masses in other lands are the
necessaries of life in ours. By avoiding the lure of imperialism, (America is) impregnable against
serious attack, and can focus on its own internal advancement. Twain s argument against imperialism
differs strongly from the ideas of Carnegie. Twain views imperialism as contradictory to America s
core values. The Anti Imperialist League uses democracy, or the concept of people holding the power,
to assert, that a government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed. Twain claims,
There must be two Americas: one that sets the captive free, and one that takes a once captive s new
freedom away from him. Like the Anti Imperialist League, Twain believes imperialism infringes upon
the rights America claims to give individuals. America, according to Twain, kills him to get his land.
The act of conquering nations removes the power from the people; America has no consent to govern
foreigners. Being an imperialistic power, in reference to Twain, debauched America s honor and

for Sony, the company has potential to grow through its reorganizing activities.
Problem Statement
Sony must reposition its growth driven and stable profit generator sectors in their markets to increase
its audience, achieve sales growth, profit expansion and maximization, and capture market shares.
Alternative Solutions
To regain some of its market share in its growth driven and stable profit generators sectors, Sony can
reposition its competition in the minds of consumers. For instance, Sony can use comparative
advertising to demonstrate that its brands are superior to its competitors. In this situation, Sony can
attempt to alter the portrayed image of its competitor, Nintendo, and position its PlayStation game
console as the better quality product (Positioning(marketing), n.d).
Sony can also differentiate themselves in the market by employing a consumer focused positioning
strategy. A consumer focused positioning strategy revolves around consumers. This strategy can be
tailor made to the audience by using social media, apps, and other online platforms to engage, access,
and directly communicate with consumers (Positioning(marketing), n.d.). Being consumer focused is

Life Expectancy In American Countries
The Life Expectancy in Sudan Is Lower Than the Average in the World The life expectancy is getting

however, that from 1970 to 1975 is 58.3 years old. Basically, food supplement is a factor. Due to the
advancement of transportation and agriculture technique, provisions are not the main reasons for short
lives. Famines don t break out as often as before. In addition, this phenomenon means that the medical
service is much more available and affordable in most countries, and thus the death rate decreases
sharply. If people can live longer and lives are not easy to disappear, the life expectancy will be higher.

How Do Driverless Cars Persuasive Essay
Mercedes Benz, Audi, and Nissan plan to have cars that can drive themselves by 2020 . Driverless
cars has been apart of the human imagination for quite awhile now, proof being in popular science
fiction. It wasn t until the early 2000 s that modern technology was ready take this very imaginative
idea and turn it into a reality. Many companies have been working on driverless cars and are seeing
quite the success. Although driverless cars are a step in the right direction of developing extremely
useful technology, I feel driverless cars should not be given to the public because it will completely
change society in many ways. Google co founder, Sergey Brin, has a vision for a future with a public
transport taxi system that uses driving cars. In this future no one will need to buy cars because there
will be taxis to take people everywhere. In this future people will not have the need to learn to drive
because technology will be so advance that cars have the ability to drive themselves. While this will
have an effect on society as a whole, it will have the biggest impact on adolescence. The priority of
adolescence as they get older will not be as focused on the hard working nature of wanting to learn
how to drive and making money to buy a car. In a world where driverless cars are available to the

If driverless cars become available to the public, we will be one step closer to letting the technology
we are creating ruin our lives. With these cars taking over the need to learn to drive, people will began

we get so dependent where we need technology to do everyday tasks for us, developing better

What´s Vertical Integration
When searching for research to analyze and write about, I leaned more towards marketing and sales,
which I want to ultimately work in. When I came across this article Moving close to the customers:
effects of vertical integration in the Swedish commercial printing industry , I was interested in what
vertical integration was and what it meant. I also was caught by the fact this was published using
Swedish commercial printing. In this day and age, our country is becoming more and more globalized,
and relies on other countries services and goods. I always find it interesting what other countries are
doing in terms of business and maybe industries in America can learn from what they have
implemented.
Starting of reading this article, I was completely lost and wanted to quit. Vertical integration seemed
too big of a concept to wrap my head around and the article had so many stats and figures I was going
crazy. After dissecting the article parts by part and figuring out what vertical integration meant, the
research started to make sense. To start off what the research talks about lets define vertical integrated.
According to Adelman, it states that a firm is vertically integrated whenever it transmits from one of
its departments to another good or service which could, without major adaptation, be sold in the
market. . Ultimately a company is vertically integrated when firms integrates activities in the value

Psychopharmacology And Mental Disorder-Phobia
Psychopharmacology and Mental Disorder Phobias
Psychopharmacology is the study of the mind and its behavior in regard to medication and mental
disorders. Its focus is to find the best treatment options and medications for specific mental disorders,
in such case as phobias. Phobias are an extreme form of anxiety that impacts the person s everyday
life, which is why the pursuit of better more effective medicinal alternatives is important.
Phobias are a form of anxiety and a heightened sense of fear. Like fear, but times two or ten depending
on how bad it is. There are several different forms of extreme anxiety, but the most common types of
phobia is simple and social. These categories consist of phobias that involve objects, insects, or

The best treatment for phobias are a form of psychotherapy called exposure therapy and a combination
of cognitive and behavioral therapy. Although occasionally your doctor may also recommend other
therapies or even medications to which we have also seen satisfying results. Understanding the cause
of their phobia is actually less important than focusing on how to treat the avoidance behavior that has
developed over time. The goal of treatment is to improve quality of life so that you re no longer
limited by your phobias. As you learn how to better manage and relate to your reactions, thoughts and
feelings, you ll find that your anxiety and fear are reduced and no longer in control of your life.
Treatment is usually directed at one specific phobia at a time (Specific phobias). By talking with
mental health professionals you can help manage your phobia. Exposure therapy ultimately focuses on
altering or changing your response to the specific situation(s) or object(s) that you fear. Repeated,
gradual exposure to the source of your specific phobia and the related thoughts, feelings and
sensations may help you learn to manage your anxiety (Specific phobias). CBT involves exposure
combined with other techniques to learn ways to view and cope with the feared object or situation
differently. You learn alternative beliefs about your fears and bodily sensations and the

Participation Trophies
Participation trophies can vary from sports to clubs to activities of any type. Many people believe
these standard awards provide many benefits for children and their childhood growth. However,
children today have become accustomed to receiving an item or prize regardless the outcome of their
effort, which could potentially send an unhealthy message about achievement and diminish the value
of the award. While many writers claim that participation trophies are beneficial, writer Ashley
Merryman agrees with the idea that participation trophies are more destructive than beneficial
regarding the learning process of a child. The general argument made by Merryman in her work,

The general argument made by Berdan in her work, Participation Trophies Send A Dangerous
Message, is that participation awards commemorate individuals for everyone being a winner. More
specifically, Berdan argues that distributing participation trophies to all participants diminishes the
meaning of the first, second, or third place trophy. She writes, When awards are handed out like candy
to every child who participates, they diminish in value. In this passage, Berdan is suggesting that
rewarding children constantly with a trophy decreases the value of the trophy that the actual winners
earned. Personally, I agree with Berdan because I agree with the concept that providing children with
constant rewards sends a dangerous message later in life. On the other hand, writer Eric Priceman
defends his opinion that these continuous awards are a necessary part of the education process for
young children and will benefit them to strive for better. More specifically, Priceman argues that there
is a difference between an award and a reward; he states that an award is given for achievement while
a reward is given for accomplishment. He writes, Just syntax maybe, but anyone that has ever
achieved at the highest level has had to endure multiple levels of accomplishment first. In this
passage, Priceman is suggesting that people who have reached the highest levels of trophies and
medals have also been encouraged along the way with things such as participation awards. He
describes the action of distributing participation awards similarly to encouraging phrases that motivate
an individual to strive for greatness. Despite his argument, I believe Priceman is wrong because
rewarding children with a meaningless trophy or certificate provides no benefit for them in their
future. More specifically, I

Coinciding with the growth of the internet, citizen journalism has generated popularity over the years

A more complex and positive definition of citizen journalism by Courtney C. Radsch, suggests public
journalism is an activist form of newsgathering that could be an alternative to mainstream media.
Citizen journalism is reporting that functions outside mainstream media institutions, often as a
response to shortcoming in the professional journalistic field, that uses similar journalistic practices
but is driven by different objectives and ideals and relies on alternative sources of legitimacy than
traditional or mainstream journalism. (Jljtan005.blogspot.co.uk, 2014) In the view of Radsch then,
citizen journalists, without the constraints of working for a commercially driven outlet, are able to
make up for shortcomings present in traditional media and are able to offer news that previously
wouldn t have existed.
The growing online communities of citizen journalists might make the medium seem like a modern
phenomenon however as suggested by Heidi Cohen (2011) in her article, How Social Media Helps
Old Media, the concept of citizen journalism can be traced back to the 13th century when town criers

population could neither read nor write and so were informed of goings on by a town crier. This free

Why Is Medea Filicide
Argumentative Essay Rough Draft Filicide is the deliberate act in which a parent kills his or her own
children. In Euripides Medea, Medea commits filicide along with murder of a princess. Medea was
married to a man named Jason who divorced her and married the princess, Glauce. Medea was so
upset by this that she killed his new wife and her and Jason s children. When Medea s quest for
revenge leads her to slaughter innocent beings, and some call her justified, but there are many reasons
why this is not the case. Those who believe Medea was just in her murders agree that Medea was
betrayed by Jason in his breaking of marriage oaths, and in order to bring justice, feels the need to
bring suffering to him. Kim Zarins refers to Medea as ¨a victim of Jason s false love¨ (Zarins 2) Medea
loved him so passionately and then hated him so much that she was unaware of except her desire for
vengeance. David Allsop said,¨ Medea s love of Jason stems from an oath made in the Argonautica, in

wanted... to be the father of royal children bound by blood to our two children: a thing which would

not only to his living children, but hopefully to royal children in the future. Medea takes away this

Triggering mechanisms include: physical trauma, surgery, dental procedures, and emotional stress. It
has been noted that almost any level of trauma can trigger an edema attack, from typing on a keyboard

buildup of stress has been well documented in it s effects on the immune system, often in a negative
capacity. This appears to be enough to trigger attacks spontaneously in those with a copy of the

Left Brain Right Brain Theory
Left brained, right brained, what s really the difference between the two? It may be surprising but the
cerebrum of the brain is split into two different hemispheres, both of which perform different tasks
and focus on different thoughts. Researchers use this very information to understand the cerebral
hemisphere functions, specifically researchers use a theory known as Left Brain Right Brain
Theory. This essay will discuss the basic principal of the Left Brain Right Brain Theory, the three
major points of the Left Brain Right Brain Theory, the functions of each hemisphere, and a scenario
that favors the Left Brain Right Brain Theory in school education.
Roger Sperry a famous pioneer involved in the field of cerebral hemispheres began the development
of the commonly known, Left Brain Right Brain Theory. Before officially developing his theory,
Sperry went on to study the effects of epilepsy and perform split brain research (cutting of the corpus);
from Sperry s split brain research he learned that cutting the corpus could either eliminate or lessen
seizures in patients. Additionally, Sperry found that patients with split brain could not identify objects
if handled on the right side of the brain; patients could however identify objects processed on the left
side of the brain. From this information, Sperry was able to propose that the left side of the brain
controlled the language aspects of a human. With Sperry s previous observations, researchers
continued to conduct studies on the cerebral hemisphere of the brain, researchers found that the left
hemisphere of the brain specialized in language, speech, hand mechanics (writing),mathematical
calculations, senses of rhythm and time, and any sort of thought used for analysing information. On
the other hand, researchers found that the right hemisphere of the brain focused on
perception,visualization, faces,emotions harmonies,spatial perception, and nonverbal
communication.Ultimately, this theory is a comparison between the left hemisphere and the right
hemisphere of the brain.
According to this hemispheric theory, there are three major points that are known within the Left
Brain Right Brain Theory. The first point being that the left hemisphere and the right

supposed to play. After observing another person play the drums, I saw that I needed to play the snare
(like in a marching band), hi hat (two cymbals put together), and bass drum (the big drum on the
bottom), and this combination became my first beat. Trying to play the bass drum with the hi hat and
snare confused me. I was fine playing the snare and hi hat, but I always messed up when I tried adding
the bass drum. I ended up having CJ play the bass drum while I played the hi hat and snare, which
lasted for over two months until I could play it myself. I was proud to finally be able to play a beat,
however I never knew about the many different different beats that you could play. ... Show more

First, there are different styles of drumming. How I play can depend on different things, such as what
the song itself is like. For example, one song could have a repeating, simple beat, but another song
could have a drum solo and super complex variations to the beat. There are also different speeds or
tempos for drumming. There may be songs that incorporate slow, easy to play beats, and there could
be other songs that have very fast drumming, such as heavy metal. Due to the varieties of drumming
styles and speeds, it takes practice to get used to the different

Use Of Pathos In Timbuktu
Some point in our lives we get lost and search for destiny and hope. This lost can be a search for
identity, emotions or decisions. Yet, some people find their paths out while others get more lost as
days and years pass. But, do we really find a path out to success and security? Maybe we will always
be lost or even born lost. The novel Timbuktu by Paul Auster introduces a long journey of a dog that is
searching for a path out of his loss of his owner and identity. The author uses literary elements such as
conflict, pathos and characterization that creates mood of loneliness, need of identity and reality that
contributes to the book as a whole.
Mr. Bones, protagonist can be considered a human that is struggling to survive through the hardship ...

Pathos plays an important role in Paul Auster s common writing techniques. Use of pathos creates a
connection between the audience and Mr. Bones. When Auster specifically describes, He almost felt
sorry about it now. He had left his master behind (Auster 85). As stated by Auster, the audience forms
sympathy toward Mr. Bones. For example looking specifically at the diction of left and sorry the
author creates a mood of sorrow and sadness. Which makes the usage of specific words remarkable
among the readers. Not only does it contribute to the conflict this creates a characterization of Mr.
Bones. By this point of the novel Mr. Bones evolved from inferior personality to Willy s reality to an
individual who is independent and willing to take risks. In order to find his identity Mr. Bones had to
make a decision that he may later regret. But, sometimes in order to find the right way out we have to
make decisions even if we know the outcome or not. In order to find the right reality, we sometimes
have to give the things we value or what we think maybe true. Sacrifice is one of the ways to find the
right path. Mr. Bones took the sacrifice of leaving Willy in order to find the reality that would make
him who he really is. This shows the transition of Mr. Bones personality from being subservient to
Willy s reality to bravery and willing to take risks. This creates a internal conflict for

Maya Angelou Caged Bird Essay
A poem titled Caged Bird by Maya Angelou was written in 1969. In her poem, called Caged Bird,
there are numerous types of literary devices she uses to convey her message, but the top four are
metaphors, symbols, diction, and connotation. She uses them to represent the struggle for freedom.
Through metaphors and diction, Maya Angelou is able to capture the want for freedom. The caged
bird s tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings for freedom (Angelou lines 19 21). The
caged bird is asking for freedom through singing, as a way to disguise it from the entity that is
restricting his freedom. The free bird hears the singing. The caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
(Angelou line 26). The free bird gets to roam the world, doing as he pleases, but the caged bird is
trapped from being able to roam the world. Maya Angelou s choice of words for grave of dreams
emphasizes that the caged bird s dreams are now dead, as he now stands on the now dying dreams of
freedom as he has been locked away for so long. The caged bird longs for the ... Show more content

The caged bird s wings are clipped and his feet are tied (Angelou lines 12 13). While the free bird s
wings and feet are loose and free, the caged bird s wings are disabled and his feet are bound by his
captivator. The caged bird s struggle to free himself from his shackles is shown through symbols. The
caged bird also sings with a fearful trill of things unknown but longed for still (Angelou lines 30 33).
The caged bird fears for what freedom could be, but he still strives for it. It symbolizes the struggle for
freedom because he still longs for freedom even though he is not sure what it could be. The caged bird
s struggle for freedom reveal themselves through symbols, as his bound feet and disabled wings
symbolize the harnesses put against him, and the longing for freedom, even though unknown,
symbolize how badly he wants

Henry David Thoreau Analysis
Henry David Thoreau, a nineteenth century writer, philosopher, and abolitionist, establishes himself as
an outsider, a passionate rebel against the status quo, in a passage from Walden. He writes to explain
why he went into the woods to live and left behind what most people would consider civilization.
Especially for an audience of contemporaries in the 1850s, before the Civil War, his choice to live in
the woods would have been outrageous even revolutionary. Even today, his choice to live in a small
cabin in the woods would be considered counter to the status quo, so the modern audience is also
intrigued by his explanation. His language and method of presenting his ideas create an argument
between civilization and real life, and it is clear that he values real life in the woods over what most
people would consider civilization. He pits civilization against life throughout, though he hides the
reference to civilization behind a contrast to life in the words not life, and he suggests that living in
civilization would be a resignation. He counters this with many references to life (nouns) and live and
living (verbs), such as to live deliberately, facts of life, I had not lived, wish to live, not life, living is
so dear, live deep, marrow of life, to live so sturdily. The paragraph is bursting with life references,
and we immediately discern the urgency of his desire. We learn the temperament of the man through
this intensity. The contrast between life and not life is

Cultural heritage in Ceylon (Sri Lanka)
The pearl of the Indian Ocean Sri Lanka, reflects a long history of its nations. From the archeological
evidence of the prehistoric settlements and prehistoric human Balangoda man (Deraniyagala, 1998) to
modern food of kottu like pizza to American; make the broad diversity of culture in Sir Lanka. By
analyzing cultural heritage definition in Sinhala language, the definition given in the legislations in
1940, and its relationship with Athens charter and 1954 UNESCO convention, I will demonstrate the
cultural heritage vision imbedded in the society through legal definition. Also, I will offer criticisms
and recommendations for an improved approach to the definition of cultural heritage in Sri Lanka in
broader context.
According to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both movable and immovable property referred in 1940 Ceylon Antiquities convention, shows
similarities to categories in UNESCO convention, architecture, buildings, art, books, works of art,
archeological sites which are also named as movable and immovable property. While 1940 Ceylon
antiquities ordinance referring all of the antiquities of it belong to the crown as an absolute property,
the 1954 UNESCO convention uses the similar term as a cultural property . However, 1940
Antiquities Ordinance shows unique significance through nominating trees as an ancient monuments.
4 What vision of cultural heritage is your country recommending to its citizens. The vision imbedded
on Sri Lankans (citizens in Ceylon) through this definition was that the British authority had the
autonomy about the antiquities or heritage in Sri Lanka and its materialistic perspective of Sri Lanka
heritage. One of the evidence for this vision is the Ordinance s hand over of the ownership to the
Britain by naming antiquities as an absolute property of the crown. Furthermore, by using the term
property to the antiquity, it apparently states the ownership and the connection with the market value.
Therefore, this definition promotes the materialistic value on heritage base on the British authority
needs. Further, by devaluing the belief system of natives by making the

Examples Of Allegory In The Wizard Of Oz
The Wizard of Oz: A Timeless Allegory The Wizard of Oz has stood the test of time as a canonized
work of American fiction. Originally released as a children s novel in 1900 titled The Wonderful
Wizard of Oz, it has since been adapted into countless film incarnations, the most famous of these
being the 1939 film starring Judy Garland, and has spawned several musicals and plays. One question
that many scholars ask when discussing The Wizard of Oz is how it remains such a prominent piece of
American literature over a century after the story first debuted. The answer to this question seems
simple after exploring the themes that are displayed throughout the novel and the film: The Wizard of
Oz continues to endure the test of time by offering a timeless allegory for nearly everything. Although
this essay will focus on the allegory that the 1939 film offered Americans for the impending World
War and the leaders and events current to that time, there are countless applications of the story that
others may draw on. As Steven Hamelman states in The Deconstructive Search for Oz :

Representatives of the New Deal were commonly referred to as wizards, and it would be logical to
assume that the Wizard had played the role of a politician outside the realm of Oz as well due to his
skills in speech making, making promises he is not sure how to keep, and literally pulling levers from
behind the scenes. However, The central achievement of [the Wizard] is his ability to restore the
confidence of those who had lost faith in their own abilities and talents. So too one of the major
accomplishments of the Roosevelt administration was the restoration of hope.(74) This theory is
similar to the one presented by Carpenter, although slightly altered to bring focus towards two tangible
relics from the era as opposed to a widespread belief of the

How Did Joseph Bruce Ismay Survive The Titanic
The unsinkable Titanic took an unexpected turn on its voyage and left few survivors to tell about it.
The Titanic was said to be very high quality, but the crew proved themselves wrong soon after the
voyage set off. One passenger, Mr. Joseph Bruce Ismay, was on the ship when the tragedy took place.
Did he survive? With much carelessness, the crew of the Titanic ignored all warning messages due to
confidence in the ship; consequently, they were not so confident when they found themselves rushing
to passengers rescue. One passage, R.M.S. Titanic, by Hanson W. Baldwin, tells about the sequence of
unfortunate events. The ship took 3 years to build and with much careful construction, many thought
that the ship was, in fact, unsinkable. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Joseph Bruce Ismay, that must have been very high in society. He was born at Crosby, near Liverpool,
on December 12, 1862. He was educated at Elstree School and Harrow and when he left Harrow, he
was tutored in France for an additional year. After being tutored in France, he went to Thomas Ismay s
office for four years. He then went on a year round tour of the world. When he returned, he was then
recruited to go to work at White Star Line s office for a further year; he was appointed the company s
agent at the end of that year. Ismay accompanied many ships on their voyages and the Titanic was no
exception. On April 10, 1912, he boarded the Titanic with his valet, his secretary, and was also
assisted by Ernest Freeman who unlike the other employees was listed as a crew member. He survived
the sinking of the Titanic; Ismay was rescued from the Titanic in Collapsible C. Why did Ismay
survive? Ismay was the White Star Line s company agent. He was most likely first class. However, he
was a male. He actually was one of the men helping the women and children board the rescue boats.

The research involved a number of variables that are manipulated very carefully to note there effects. Additionally, according to Hovland attitudes are learned and are changed through the same process of learning. The experimental section of the research branch of the war department s information and education division evaluated studies of films already existing, and had experimental studies where two versions of the same film were compared, the second type of research set the way for the rest of the attitude change research. The first task that this section took upon as evaluating the first four films of a series of films called why we fight , which was designed to motivate American soldiers to fight in the war. This research became part of the evidence suggesting that strong held attitudes are less likely to change because of one mass communication message. On the top of that researchers began then to examine attitude change due to the cognitive process, which means that receivers of the message actively think about the message and change their attitude. But more recent theories reveal that a number of variables working together at the same time results in attitude change. furthermore, to change attitudes there are specific techniques to follow, the first technique is the one sided and two sided messages, which is basically either presenting one side of the message ... • 5. Negatives And Negatives Of 3d Printing Every few years, a technological device emerges that changes the way we live our lives. From the typewriter to the laptop computer, technology keeps improving. We are able to type documents, erase as we choose and print as many copies as we like using a printer. Life was made easier for us. Another device is about to change our lives 3D printing. The traditional way we print today is 2D printing. We print on paper. The data we print cannot be touched physically. If we print a picture of a shoe on a paper, we cannot hold that shoe physically in our hands. That is about to change with 3D printing. This new technology will allow us to print almost anything we choose and we will be able to feel that object. Today we use forging, molding and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The virtual design can be made in a specific software such as a 3D modelling program. Once a blueprint of the object is created, we send the digital file to the printer and it prints the object. This benefits our company because all we would have to do is to create a 3D file. There would be no more need for 2D modelling and we would save time on creating the design the customer wants. There are different processes that allow 3D printing to occur but the most common one used currently is Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM). A prominent tech blog states that when the digital file is sent to the printer, the device slices the virtual design into horizontal layers. The material that is used to make the object is then melted and the printer prints the object layer by layer until the full object is created. Depending on the printer type, the material used can be rubber, plastics, paper, metals and more. Our company would be able to make different prototypes of different materials with these printers. There would be no need to get special tools for the different materials. The emergence of 3D printing has helped many companies thus far. TechRepublic states that Boeing, a well known company, uses the device. This airplane company has made over 20000 materials thus far using 3D printers. Ford has also used the device to make car parts. They recently made their 500000th part using the 3D printer. Not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Finance Major Essay The definition of finance is rather complex but Merriam Webster seems to provide the most comprehensive explanation, stating, the management of revenues; the conduct or transaction of money matters generally, especially those affecting the public, as in the fields of banking and investment (Merriam Webster). The management of revenues is essentially the core of what separates the jobs of finance majors, compared to other business related majors such as accounting and economics. While accountants identify where the money comes from, the finance people identify how to best use that money. While economic majors study how to grow the entire economy of a country, finance majors study how to value a company. The reason behind my decision to pursue a major in finance is because I want to study how to manage money in a company and the role companies play in affecting the banking system. Also, I am convinced that majoring in finance is one of the most effective and efficient ways in becoming a successful entrepreneur. As a finance major, I can only study; as a successful entrepreneur, I will be equipped with the resources to improve the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people. One of his short stories, A Letter to a Young Lady in Paris , is written in the form of a letter from the narrator to their significant other, Andrea, who is away in Paris at the time. The narrator has decided to move into Andrea s apartment and is writing the letter to attempt to explain that the damage Andrea will inevitably come home was caused by a group of rabbits brought into the world through an anomaly the narrator experiences in which they vomit up a live rabbit every few weeks. At the very end of the story, one realizes that this is no ordinary letter, but actually the narrator s suicide note. • 12. The Effect Of Analyzed Chemical Energy Of Sodium Chloride... Practical Investigation: Enthalpy of Solution Introduction The enthalpy of a substance or solution refers to the chemical energy or heat content that is stored within the substance. When a substance undergoes a reaction, the chemical energy in the substance is released or more energy gets absorbed into the substance; this is known as exothermic and endothermic reactions, respectively. Within this practical, the aim was to investigate the change in stored chemical energy of a sodium chloride solution by measuring the temperature change that occurs when sodium chloride is added to distilled water. The experiment was carried out by using a calorimeter, to contain any energy that could be released in the reaction, and also a hand held thermometer and digital thermometer to measure the change in temperature. Aim The aim of this practical is to investigate and compare the effectiveness of hand held thermometers and digital probes through determining the enthalpy of sodium chloride solutions. Hypothesis When the sodium chloride is added into the water inside the calorimeter, an endothermic or exothermic reaction will occur, indicating a change in enthalpy from the water to the solution. The digital probe will most likely give a more accurate reading of the temperature change, thus giving more accurate results. Variables Independent: the independent variables in this experiment were the water and the solution. The water physically reacted with the sodium chloride to create a ... It is cheap, accessible and provides a rapid diagnosis of many vascular diseases such as presence of abdominal aortic aneurysm, deep vein thrombosis and limb arterial occlusions. The majority of vascular ultrasound currently done in the UK is trans cutaneous ultrasound, in which the US probe obtains images of the vessels from above the skin. The standard IVUS sheaths are 9 Fr with a 0.035 inch guidewire, however 0.014 inch catheters are available for smaller arteries (Kpodonu et al., 2008). Once inside the target vessel, IVUS obtains 360 degrees cross sectional images. The sonic wave reflections from the arterial wall differ depending on the structure of the arterial wall components. Collagen and elastin produce a stronger sonic reflection thus a hyper echoic picture of the intima and adventitia, whilst the smooth muscle cells in the media produce a hypo echoic picture due to reduced sonic reflection from these structures (Kpodonu et al., 2008). New generation IVUS devices can produce three dimensional pictures by stacking the two dimensional axial images during pull back of the US catheter. The pull back could be done either manually or mechanically using a motor. 3 D images are useful in assessment of endovascular device deployment failures, which might not be detected in conventional angiographies. 3 D images are also helpful in sizing of the arteries and veins for endovascular device planning (Weissman et al., 1995; Heuser et al., 1997). IVUS can provide B mode and colour images from inside the vessels. The transducers frequencies are generally between 10 MHz and 40MHz (Lee and White, 2004). The argument largely centered on upholding the quality of life in America. Accordingly, Carnegie wrote, The luxuries of the masses in other lands are the necessaries of life in ours. Twain s argument against imperialism differs strongly from the ideas of Carnegie. Twain views imperialism as contradictory to America s core values. The general argument made by Berdan in her work, Participation Trophies Send A Dangerous Message, is that participation awards commemorate individuals for everyone being a winner. She writes, When awards are handed out like candy to every child who participates, they diminish in value. In this passage, Berdan is suggesting that rewarding children constantly with a trophy decreases the value of the trophy that the actual winners earned. Personally, I agree with Berdan because I agree with the concept that providing children with constant rewards sends a dangerous message later in life. On the other hand, writer Eric Priceman defends his opinion that these continuous awards are a necessary part of the education process for young children and will benefit them to strive for better. More specifically, Priceman argues that there is a difference between an award and a reward; he states that an award is given for achievement while a reward is given for accomplishment. He writes, Just syntax maybe, but anyone that has ever achieved at the highest level has had to endure multiple levels of accomplishment first. In this passage, Priceman is suggesting that people who have reached the highest levels of trophies and medals have also been encouraged along the way with things such as participation awards. It may be surprising but the cerebrum of the brain is split into two different hemispheres, both of which perform different tasks and focus on different thoughts. Researchers use this very information to understand the cerebral hemisphere functions, specifically researchers use a theory known as Left Brain Right Brain Theory. This essay will discuss the basic principal of the Left Brain Right Brain Theory, the three major points of the Left Brain Right Brain Theory, the functions of each hemisphere, and a scenario that favors the Left Brain Right Brain Theory in school education. Roger Sperry a famous pioneer involved in the field of cerebral hemispheres began the development of the commonly known, Left Brain Right Brain Theory. Before officially developing his theory, Sperry went on to study the effects of epilepsy and perform split brain research (cutting of the corpus); from Sperry s split brain research he learned that cutting the corpus could either eliminate or lessen seizures in patients. Additionally, Sperry found that patients with split brain could not identify objects if handled on the right side of the brain; patients could however identify objects processed on the left side of the brain. From this information, Sperry was able to propose that the left side of the brain controlled the language aspects of a human. With Sperry s previous observations, researchers continued to conduct studies on the cerebral hemisphere of the brain, researchers found that the left hemisphere of the brain specialized in language, speech, hand mechanics (writing),mathematical calculations, senses of rhythm and time, and any sort of thought used for analysing information. On the other hand, researchers found that the right hemisphere of the brain focused on perception, visualization, faces, emotions harmonies, spatial perception, and nonverbal communication.Ultimately, this theory is a comparison between the left hemisphere and the right hemisphere of the brain. • 40. Drumming Research Paper Is drumming really difficult to me? In my opinion, drumming can be difficult at some times, and understanding the concept of drumming wasn t easy at the start. When I first started trying to play the drums, I didn t understand how to do it. I had no idea that drumming even had different styles and beats. It took me quite awhile to fully comprehend how complex it really is. Drumming is not easy at first, can be very complex, and requires a lot of practice. Learning to play the drums was not easy when I first started figuring out how to play a beat. First of all, I didn t know which pieces I was supposed to play. After observing another person play the drums, I saw that I needed to play the snare (like in a marching band), hi hat (two cymbals put together), and bass drum (the big drum on the bottom), and this combination became my first beat. Trying to play the bass drum with the hi hat and snare confused me. I was fine playing the snare and hi hat, but I always messed up when I tried adding the bass drum. I ended up having CJ play the bass drum while I played the hi hat and snare, which lasted for over two months until I could play it myself. I was proud to finally be able to play a beat, however I never knew about the many different different beats that you could play. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, there are different styles of drumming. How I play can depend on different things, such as what the song itself is like. For example, one song could have a repeating, simple beat, but another song could have a drum solo and super complex variations to the beat. There are also different speeds or tempos for drumming. There may be songs that incorporate slow, easy to play beats, and there could be other songs that have very fast drumming, such as heavy metal. Due to the varieties of drumming styles and speeds, it takes practice to get used to the different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pathos plays an important role in Paul Auster s common writing techniques. Use of pathos creates a connection between the audience and Mr. Bones. When Auster specifically describes, He almost felt sorry about it now. He had left his master behind (Auster 85). As stated by Auster, the audience forms sympathy toward Mr. Bones. For example looking specifically at the diction of left and sorry the author creates a mood of sorrow and sadness. Which makes the usage of specific words remarkable among the readers. Not only does it contribute to the conflict this creates a characterization of Mr. Bones. By this point of the novel Mr. Bones evolved from inferior personality to Willy s reality to an individual who is independent and willing to take risks. In order to find his identity Mr. Bones had to make a decision that he may later regret. But, sometimes in order to find the right way out we have to make decisions even if we know the outcome or not. In order to find the right reality, we sometimes have to give the things we value or what we think maybe true. Sacrifice is one of the ways to find the right path. Mr. Bones took the sacrifice of leaving Willy in order to find the reality that would make him who he really is. This shows the transition of Mr. Bones personality from being subservient to Willy s reality to bravery and willing to take risks. This creates a internal conflict for ... • 42. Maya Angelou Caged Bird Essay A poem titled Caged Bird by Maya Angelou was written in 1969. In her poem, called Caged Bird, there are numerous types of literary devices she uses to convey her message, but the top four are metaphors, symbols, diction, and connotation. She uses them to represent the struggle for freedom. Through metaphors and diction, Maya Angelou is able to capture the want for freedom. The caged bird s tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings for freedom (Angelou lines 19 21). The caged bird is asking for freedom through singing, as a way to disguise it from the entity that is restricting his freedom. The free bird hears the singing. The caged bird stands on the grave of dreams (Angelou line 26). The free bird gets to roam the world, doing as he pleases, but the caged bird is trapped from being able to roam the world. Maya Angelou s choice of words for grave of dreams emphasizes that the caged bird s dreams are now dead, as he now stands on the now dying dreams of freedom as he has been locked away for so long. While the free bird s wings and feet are loose and free, the caged bird s wings are disabled and his feet are bound by his captivator. The caged bird s struggle to free himself from his shackles is shown through symbols. The caged bird also sings with a fearful trill of things unknown but longed for still (Angelou lines 30 33). The caged bird fears for what freedom could be, but he still strives for it. It symbolizes the struggle for freedom because he still longs for freedom even though he is not sure what it could be. • 43. Henry David Thoreau Analysis Henry David Thoreau, a nineteenth century writer, philosopher, and abolitionist, establishes himself as an outsider, a passionate rebel against the status quo, in a passage from Walden. He writes to explain why he went into the woods to live and left behind what most people would consider civilization. Especially for an audience of contemporaries in the 1850s, before the Civil War, his choice to live in the woods would have been outrageous even revolutionary. Even today, his choice to live in a small cabin in the woods would be considered counter to the status quo, so the modern audience is also intrigued by his explanation. His language and method of presenting his ideas create an argument between civilization and real life, and it is clear that he values real life in the woods over what most people would consider civilization. He pits civilization against life throughout, though he hides the reference to civilization behind a contrast to life in the words not life, and he suggests that living in civilization would be a resignation. He counters this with many references to life (nouns) and live and living (verbs), such as to live deliberately, facts of life, I had not lived, wish to live, not life, living is so dear, live deep, marrow of life, to live so sturdily. The paragraph is bursting with life references, and we immediately discern the urgency of his desire. We learn the temperament of the man through this intensity. However, 1940 Antiquities Ordinance shows unique significance through nominating trees as an ancient monuments. 4 What vision of cultural heritage is your country recommending to its citizens. The vision imbedded on Sri Lankans (citizens in Ceylon) through this definition was that the British authority had the autonomy about the antiquities or heritage in Sri Lanka and its materialistic perspective of Sri Lanka heritage. One of the evidence for this vision is the Ordinance s hand over of the ownership to the Britain by naming antiquities as an absolute property of the crown. Furthermore, by using the term property to the antiquity, it apparently states the ownership and the connection with the market value. Therefore, this definition promotes the materialistic value on heritage base on the British authority needs. Further, by devaluing the belief system of natives by making the ... However, The central achievement of [the Wizard] is his ability to restore the confidence of those who had lost faith in their own abilities and talents. So too one of the major accomplishments of the Roosevelt administration was the restoration of hope.(74) This theory is similar to the one presented by Carpenter, although slightly altered to bring focus towards two tangible relics from the era as opposed to a widespread belief of the ...
