What Makes George Herbert Hoover A Good President
Alexandria Helms
Dr. Endsley
HIST 1302
24 June 2016
Herbert Hoover was elected as president in 1929, but before that he was much more. Hoover was born
a Quaker in Iowa, which makes him the only Iowan president. He had a hard childhood due to both of
his parents passing away and leaving he and his two siblings orphans at the age of 9. He then moved
in with his uncle in Oregon until he attended college at Stanford, making him one of the first people to
go there. He graduated with a degree in geology and became an engineer. After awhile Hoover got
deeply involved with humanitarian work and was then appointed by president Woodrow Wilson in
1917,when the US entered WW1, as head of Food Administration. His success in that position

He won that election by a landslide and even though he had done an incredible job his first term, the
Great Depression was still a huge deal and the economy needed help.. This new wave included the
Social Security Act, which provided Americans s who weren t working or couldn t work income for
when they were older. It also included the Works Progress Administration, which provided jobs for the
unexperienced and unemployed. They were not allowed to work with private industry so instead they
put their focus on construction of public things such as schools, roads and parks. They also gave
employment opportunities to artists, writer, theater directors and musicians (The New Deal). Then, in
July of 1935, came the Wagner Act which created the National Labor Relations Board in order to
oversee union elections and make sure businesses were treating their workers fairly. Workers all over
the nation grew to be more violent and forceful. They started strikes that would eventually grow to
multiple cities at once. They were demanding their rights and fighting for what they wanted. The
conservatives on the Supreme Court argues that they were in unconstitutional extension of federal
authority. Roosevelt, with the purpose of protecting his programs, came out with a plan to add liberal
justices in order to neutralize the conservatives. It

Nitration Of Methyl Benzoate Lab Report
The purpose of this experiment is to study an electrophilic aromatic substitution. With observing this
substitution, the identity of the major product will be discovered. The method used to reach the
purpose of the experiment is a TLC. The nitration of methyl benzoate with a mixture of sulfuric acid
and nitric acid will be performed in the experiment. NO2 is the electrophile in the experiment, and it is
an electron withdrawing group that makes the methyl benzoate less reactive. The NO2 group in this
nitration can be added to three different positions ortho, para, or meta. When the NO2 is added, it
makes a methyl nitrobenzoate. The weight recorded of methyl benzoate in the start of the experiment
is 3.397 grams. The weight of the crude product

Comparison Of The Characters In Henriquez s Novel The...
In life people are often compare each other for relative success, and so often and conveniently siblings
are compared to each other. We see this comparison in Christiana s Henriquez s novel, The Book of
Unknown Americans with the characters of Enrique and Mayor. Between the two brothers, one has
clearly accomplished more great feats in his parents eyes, him being Enrique. Throughout the book the
accomplishment of Enrique is felt acts as a burden towards his younger brother, Mayor. Mayor, try as
he might, is not his brother and this is seen through Mayor failures to meet the standards of Enrique
presented in the book. There is a sibling rival between the brothers created by their father Rafael Toro.
An advancement of knowledge on the subject of sibling rivals can help us to further understand the
situation of the brothers, by examining the studies of some scholars on the effects older siblings have
on the younger siblings. Rebecca Webber s Two Sibling, One Spotlight focus on how the older sibling
set the goals for the younger siblings. Zeng yin Chen and Ruth X. Liu work Comparing Adolescent
Only Children with Those Who Have Siblings on Academic Related Outcomes and Psychosocial
Adjustment research allows for an insight of real life academics of only and children with siblings
generalized results in an academic test; presenting a significant difference between the two. Jensen,
Alexander C. and Susan M. McHale What Makes Siblings Different? The development of Sibling
Differences in Academic Achievements and Interest argues that more academically successful older
siblings generate higher expectation of parents to push the younger sibling to achieve similar
academics goals. Though most of the data indicate that the older sibling usually outperforms the
younger siblings academically I will argue, this sibling rivalry is not a negative but rather if anything
is positive for the younger sibling. A quick aside with my own personally experiences as the youngest
of three brothers. Often my siblings have set the curve for what is acceptable and not weather that be
academics or that be sports. In my own competitive nature, I have sought to surpass my brothers, with

Women s Role In The Revolutionary War
Women have played an instrumental role in every American conflict from the Revolutionary War to
today complex battlefields. A major turning point for women s rights was the establishment of the
Women s Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. WAAC soldiers
fought to gain legitimacy within the military and overcome social biases. Their professionalism and
determination paved the way forward for women s integration into one all military branches. The best
way to illustrate women s integration is to start back in colonial times. During the Revolutionary War,
many women supported the war effort primarily in quartermaster roles working as cooks, laundresses,
and nurses. Deborah Sampson impersonated a man of over a year in General Washington s Colonial
Army. She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analyzing Carper s A Good Death
A Good Death by Carolyn Adams talks about being present while assessing a patient. Carolyn Adams
sits on the side of the patient s bed to talk to them so they feel like she is not in a rush to get out of the
room. Sometimes peoples standing posture shows that they are in a hurry to get somewhere else. In
this story is it expressed that palliative care nurses are not miracle workers, they are there to allow the
palliative patients to have a good death (SOURCE, PICARD, 2000). The purpose of this assignment is
to effectively reflect on a nurse s story, identify the themes that are present and to integrate Carper s
(1978) ways of knowing into the story. Throughout the nurse s story there are multiple storied themes
present, the ones that stuck ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nurse has to do research in order to know which method would be the best for each patient, and to
learn all the new strategies to keep the patients comfortable. The nurse s knowledge is also up to date
on all the kinds of new equipment such as mattresses that help prevent the patient from getting
bedsores. The nurse is aware that the only physical pain that is hard to treat and control is neuropathic,
this is determined through research. The nurse has gained knowledge through their own person
understanding and empath which is part of Carper s (1978) ways of knowing through their experience
of when their own grandfather was a patient before they were in palliative care. They had an
experience that they would never want a family to go through when their loved one is dying. Through
this experience it made the nurse want to go into palliative care so they could use their new knowledge
to try their best to make a family with a dying loved one witness a good death . The nurse uses
knowledge and attitudes built by an ethical framework. The nurse listens to what the patients want
allowing them to be in control of their life, respecting their life, and doing what is right for the patient
s well being. The nurse knows what the patient wants in order to die a good death even if it means
stopping treatment so that there is no more pain but possibly a shorter life span. The nurse shows
knowledge through the awareness of the immediate situation and the awareness of the patient and their
awareness of their circumstances as a unique individual. The nurse takes their time with each patient
in order to understand them. The nurse has learned that during bath time is when the patient usually
seems to speak the most and that is when the nurse learns the most about the patient. (SOURCE)

Their Eyes Were Watching God By Zora Neale Hurston
Throughout many years in the early 19th century, people were forced to work in very poor
environments. From working for long hours on fields and plantations, they did not have an
opportunity to have a free and self fulfilling life. Their lives were very similar to that of a mule where
they had to perform very tiring and hard jobs for most of the day. In many instances, people lived their
whole life working towards freeing themselves from the work but were never able to accomplish their
goal. In Their Eyes Were Watching God, by Zora Neale Hurston, the mule is used as a symbol of the
way Janie is treated in each of her relationships except when she is with Teacake, demonstrating that it
is more worthy to work like a mule with a lover than live a leisurely life without one. When Nannie
sees Janie kissing Johnny Taylor, she immediately breaks them up because she is trying to save Janie
from making a bad decision. She says, Janie, youse uh oman, now, so... yeah, Janie, youse got yo
womanhood on yuh... Ah wants to see you married right away (12). Since Janie still has her
womanhood, Nannie wants Janie to be married so her womanhood is not stripped away from her.
Janie s grandmother was raped around the age that Janie is right now and she does not want Janie to
have the same fate. Nannie thinks that by marrying Janie off at a young age it will not only protect her
from other men, but it will also allow her to live a hopeful and prosperous life. After an argument

Ephesians
There s lots of times in our lives where we feel powerless. Maybe its tax season, the direction of the
country, control over our children or even our own lives. Yet God has promised Christians a life that
goes far beyond our fears of inadequacy. In Ephesians, Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus: Now to
Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power
that works within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations
forever and ever. Amen (Ephesians 3:20 21). This phrase: more abundantly beyond (NASB) is
translated various ways. Sometimes its translated as immeasurably more (NIV), or accomplish
abundantly far more (NRSV). Interestingly, far more abundantly and beyond are words from the same
root word in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paul s is basically repeating himself here as if saying: abundantly, abundantly. The motto of the
country of Spain is: Further Beyond. I wonder if they came up with this sailing to the New WOrld.
Indeed, we can learn a lot about God s plans fro us in the Bible, but God has so much more in store for
us than we can even comprehend or read about. Concerning everything we could ask we can ask for
quite a bit! We sometimes pray: Lord, I want a million dollars, and a brand new car. Well, that s not
exactly what God is teaching here. How about opportunities to reach the lost? Prayers for patience?
Prayers for wisdom? We can think quite a few things as well: Can God really help me through this
temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13)? Is God going to be there for me through the hard times (Psalm 23)?
Will He provided for my needs (Matthew 6:31 33)? Finally, the verse in Ephesians says: according to
the power that works within us. Its kind of scary to think of God working in us. We have a boss in
Heaven, and He expects us to work for Him. Yet He s the best and He ll help us go far beyond

Santa Vs Jesus Research Paper
By now, the elves are wrapping the toys. The reindeers are running test flights. Santa is busy double
checking Xmas lists, and plotting the logistics of the world s greatest overnight delivery.
But a new UK board game, Santa vs Jesus, has blighted the festive season with unwelcome sectarian
dissension, presenting Xmas as a pitched battle between Jesus and Santa. Cries of insult, blasphemy
ensue: the satirical board game is accused of falsely equating belief in Jesus with belief in Santa
Claus.
My blood boils at this sacrilege. How dare they demean the good name of Santa Claus? Yet another
example of politically correctness gone mad, and elitist intellectuals tainting our most cherished
institutions. On behalf of children everywhere, let ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But just because infrared technology fails to find any trace of an enormous toy shop at the North Pole,
doesn t mean I should rule him out altogether. Sure, I m sceptical about Santa even fitting into most
chimneys and I ve never seen a flying reindeer. But Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence ,
as they say.
And, since when must omniscient beings lower themselves to mere terrestrial standards of empirical
proof? Why should the lowly and common measures of evidence be applied to Santa alone? Indeed,
using the arguments applied to other contemporary deities, belief in Santa is more than reasonable.
As St Anselm argued: if we can conceive of a being of which there is no greater, and, given an extant
being is greater than one purely imagined then; the greatest being must exist. Thus, if we accept the
premise that Santa is the greatest gift giver, then, by irrefutable logic he must exist. Boo ya! Never
mind that this also applies to the greatest sophist, the greatest idiot and the greatest obscurantist. They
exist also, and often employ St Anselm s argument in favour of their own articles of faith.
And, as we know, faith is an element of proof in itself. Have faith and ye shall be rewarded. Where a
deficit of proof exists one can legitimately insert faith to bridge the gap. Then Poof! the object of faith

What Is The Events That Justified The United States Entry...
When World War 1 started in 1914, United States president Woodrow Wilson promised non
participation of his country. The conflict appeared characteristic of the rottenness of old Europe, which
favored the neutrality position of majority of American citizens. However, a series of implacable
events dragged the United States into the war. This paper will discuss the events that justified the
United States entry into World War 1 while exploring the roles which public opinion should play when
making such decisions in comparison to expert policy makers opinions. In addition, other available
options that should have been put into consideration will be explored.

These incidents combined with dwindling diplomatic relations between Germany and the United
States increased anti German feelings in America.
Another factor that majorly influenced American public opinion was stories run by British press
regarding invasion of neutral Belgium by Germany. Allegations of small towns being eliminated and
innocent civilians being killed angered and stunned the Americans. Although some of these stories
were fabricated to serve as British propaganda, they served their purpose of prompting a strong anti
German sentiment.
The protection of its economic interests was also a major factor, which influenced the decision for
America to participate in World War 1. American businesspersons such as J.P. Morgan who were
interested in victory of the alliance funded French and British wars. These funds, roughly 3 billion US
Dollars were mainly in form of loans and bond purchases. This led to the fear that incase Central
Powers (Germany, Bulgaria, Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire) emerged victorious; the Allies
(France, Britain and Italy) would be unable to repay these debts. As a measure to counter this risk,
these businessmen united to support a campaign movement; Preparedness Movement , which pushed
for America to intervene in the war and support the Allied forces.

Claude Debussy s `` Claire De Lune ``
Claude Debussy was born in France on August 22, 1862 during a decade in which Roger Nichols s
claims was one of the low points of French musical life (4). Debussy clashed with the musical norms
of his time due to his fascination with writing music for how it sounds and feels. Lesure writes, Ever
since his years at the Conservatoire, Debussy had felt that he had more to learn from artists than from
career obsessed musicians (5). Debussy composed from the ideas around him and this is heard in his
composition of Clair de lune . Claude Debussy s Claire de lune is one of his most beloved and known
piano works. Clair de lune is the third movement of Debussy s piano concerto, Suite Bergamasque,
published in 1905 and offers a view into the complexity and originality of Claude Debussy. Clair de
lune beautifully displays Debussy s fascination with nature and symbolist poetry. Debussy uses form
and atmospheric phrasing to depict the melancholic and subdued beauty of nature.
In 1903 Debussy wrote, Music is a mysterious form of mathematics whose elements are derived from
the infinite. Music is the expression of the movement of the waters, the play of curves described by
changing breezes. There is nothing more musical than a sunset. (Vallas 8) Debussy felt a strong
connection with the arts and nature. According to the Oxford Music Online article on Claude Debussy,
written by Francois Lesure and Roy Howat, Debussy once said, I love pictures almost as much as
music .

William Faulkner s The Giving Tree
The Giving tree is about how a little boy would come to this tree so he could have some fun. The little
boy loved the tree and the tree loved the boy as well. But as the boy grew older he needed the tree
more and more. The boy wanted some money so he asked the tree for some money but she didn t have
any, so she offered him her apples for him to sell. The boy/man would always come to the tree for
help, but he would never give the tree anything.
The main idea is that the boy is selfish. The tree represents a parent and how the boy would go to his
parents for help and the parent does anything in their power to help. The boy wanted a house but the

Taking a Look at Pneumonias
Pneumonias are respiratory infections that lead to inflammation of the lung structures such as the
alveoli and the bronchioles (Porth, 2011). It is also a significant cause of morbidity and mortality
among all age groups. The very young, the very old or those with chronic disease are more susceptible
to the disease. According to Driver (2012), 1.4 million people die each year because of pneumonia.
Pneumonias are categorized based on where the infection is acquired, types of organisms that cause
the infection, and the location of the lung that infection occurs. The presence of signs and symptoms
depends on types of pneumonia and hosts defense mechanisms and is the result of the destruction of
the alveoli and impairment of gas exchange. Types of Pneumonias Pneumonias are respiratory
infections that lead to inflammation of the lung structures such as the alveoli and the bronchioles.
There are many types of pneumonias and their classifications depend on the source of infection, types
of organisms, and the area in the lung (Porth, 2011). Community acquired pneumonia occurs when a
person gets pneumonia infection from organisms found in the community. These organisms could be
bacteria or viruses. However, a pneumonia that occurs as a complication in hospital settings such as
post surgery or artificial ventilation is called hospital acquired pneumonia (Driver, 2012). Most
hospital acquired pneumonias are bacterial and difficult to treat since many of them have acquired

In the short story Two Kinds, Amy Tan talks about the clash between traditional and contemporary
values. The Chinese culture wants everything to be a certain way, but Tan grow up in around
American culture and she was more likely to have her own thoughts rather than be an obedient
daughter. This essay illustrates the procedure of character development of the second generation
Chinese immigrant daughters who experience differences between Chinese culture and American
culture, such as language, culture and generational gaps that rise between the Chinese mothers and
their American born daughters. Language is a traditional value for every country. Amy Tan talks about
communication gaps throughout her first novel The Joy Luck Club. She talks about language variation
between her and her mother. She speaks fluent English and her mother speaks mixture of broken
English and Chinese. In Two Kinds Jing mei s mother also speaks broken English and Chinese and

mother could not understand what Jing mei wants in her life and Jing mei could not understand what

Abortion Matters of Life and Death Casts Dispersions on...
Abortion
A. Jonathan Glover, in his article Matters of Life and Death casts dispersions on both pro abortion and
anti abortion debates citing them as too knee jerk emotional reactions diminishing the inherent
complexity of the other side (1. Glover, CC2006, p. 0110). Glover comprehensively addresses the key
points of both sides of the abortion debate and evaluates their inherent virtues, especially for those
who hold these opinions, then methodically points out its flaws. Ultimately, Glover comes to the
conclusion that though a fetus is a human at the moment of conception, the right to abort lies with the
mother and her own self determination.
Glover begins his article by claiming that the status of the fetus, historically, has been ... Show more

There are essentially three objections to murder: it takes away the victim s autonomy, it prevents the
victim from years of life it was due, and the effects of others who had some relation to the victim (6.
Glover, CC2006, p. 0110). Casting aside religious teachings because of the variety of religions, Glover
focuses on these three objections. Glover claims that a fetus has no real autonomy of its own, thus can
not be afforded its own rights and that even if the fetus did have rights, the rights and autonomy of the
mother supercede the rights of the fetus (7. Glover, CC2006, p. 0113). In this way, the second reason
also falls by the leeway because years of life due to the mother if her life was threatened by the
pregnancy or the years she has to invest in raising an unwanted child is usurped by the birth of the
fetus. And finally, though not explicitly mentioned, the only other person that a fetus has any relation
or interaction with is the mother, thus if the mother wants the fetus aborted, the moral implications
that arise reside solely with the mother.
It is in this way that Glover returns to his original assertion that to deny women the right to control
what happens in their bodies is wrong, but cautions that a fetus is a human right at conception, so
ending the life of the fetus is equal to ending the life of any human, yet the rights afforded to women
trump all of this and whatever moral pitfalls that a

This is especially true for groups of people in the United States. Immigrants, especially of Arab origin
and those with Islam as their religion are seen as terrorists. This is blatant racism and discrimination
which is also completely against what this country stands for.
Also concerned is the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). This is an organization that is
dedicated to raising awareness of civil liberties. The PATRIOT Act, as the name suggests is supposed
to protect the citizens of the country from attacks across its borders. It defeats its own purpose in
attacking from within the very people it s supposed to protect. In fact, it does almost the opposite by
provoking a fear and paranoia that tends to remind us of such wonderful events like the Spanish
inquisition or the Salem Witch Trials.
The ACLU talks about several groups that are unfairly targeted by the Act to the extent that the
constitution is being violated. I have already talked about Arab and Muslims but even neighbors are
supposed to report anything that appears suspicious. Turning people against each other is not only a
reminder of the above mentioned historical events but it also leads to fear in a place where none is
needed.
The Act gives law enforcement the right to search any building or residence that might prove suspect.
It seems that such suspicion is easy to provoke making it likely that an innocent law abiding citizen

Negative Effects Of The French Revolution
The French Revolution was in the mid eighteenth century in France. The French Revolution occurred
because of many political, social, and economical problems in France. The people of France were
majorly affected by the French Revolution, and although the French Revolution took place in France it
had an affect on regions other than France. Throughout the French Revolution there were many
negative and positive aspects but overall it negatively affected France in the long run and is still
affecting them today. The French Revolution impacted France in many negative and positive ways
because of the political, social, and economical problems such as a monarchy being established,
feudalism being abolished; the third estate being divided and unfair; and how peasants suffered
significantly because of high taxes and scarce food. The creation of a monarchy led to the French
Revolution because rarely anyone believed that a monarchy should be created. The monarchy went
against everything that most of the people believed. Feudalism was abolished because of the creation
of the monarchy. (Doc 4) The social problems led to the French Revolution because of how unfair the

Booker T Know Me Research Paper
In the song 1999 by the late artist Prince, he sung about how the world was going to end, but the world
did not cease because I was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1999, November 28th at Mobile Infirmary at
10:30 P.M. So the prophesy on how the world could end only began because I am here today in our
Lord s year of 2016! Sorry Prince, but you were wrong. I was born into a family with two older sisters
in a little blue house on Mott Drive in the neighborhood of Toulminville. There were no plantations in
the South at this time only in rural areas like Booker T. Washington grew up in West Virginia. I don t

Three Things That Motivates College Students
Three Things That Motivates Colleges Students
According to Ralph Marston, What you do today can improve all your tomorrow. Basically your

education, if Colleges provide advance services for students to practice their course in a diligent

African Colonialism And Its Effects On Africa
In the 1800 s countries were in search for land to expand their country into, this happened to many
places including Africa. Colonialism was a time when countries took control of another land, which
they then governed through direct or indirect rule depending on the country. During this time, Africa
was most sought after due to its resources and its uninhabited land. Due to this, all colonial powers
scrambled to get their hands on a piece of Africa in order to expand their areas of rule. As a result of
the scramble for Africa the Berlin Conference was held. At this conference representatives from
fourteen countries came together to divide up Africa s land (Africans had no say in the matter,
however). With colonial powers now in control, not everyone was pleased seeing as the governing
country was only using them for natural resources and economic gain, which of course caused
resistance with people refusing to assimilate to the colonial power. Eventually, anti colonial
movements sprung up and they did whatever they could to try and regain their right to self rule. This
ultimately led to boycotts, strikes, the formation of unions and political parties just to regain
independence. Independence was a struggle that happened in many ways, such as violence and
agreement as shown in Swaziland s case. Swaziland has a particularly special story of colonialism,
due to the fact that they started out just asking for some support.
Swaziland s journey toward colonialism started in the

The trial of Orestes is used as the explanation for the formation for the court system. I establish this
tribunal. It shall be untouched by money making, grave but quick to wrath, watchful to protect those
who sleep a sentry on the land. Oresteia: (Eumenides, 704 706). Athena establishes the system of court

Just as the religion brings the rise of civilisations, so has it brought the fall of many. By introducing a
new religion in to the land of Thebes, Dionysus brings about the destruction of the system of society
present there. I happened to be away... I ve heard of some strange mischief in the town, stories of
women leaning home to frisk in mock ecstasies... Euripides: (Bacchae, 215 32) Pentheus returns home
to find his world upside down as the women are behaving in a way totally new to him and disruptive
to the set order of things. The bible tells of the fall of Sodom and Gomorrah by God for their evil
deeds. 24Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulphur and fire from the Lord out of

religion and this is a shadow of the purging during Noah s flood as shown earlier. Leads up to show
how religion cannot always be viewed as

Why The US Should Put An End To The Refugee Crisis
Currently there is a refugee crisis . People from different places are fleeing their countries to survive
and escape the violence where they live. The best solution for this crisis would be for the U.S. to
accept refugees (way more than they already do) and help them out. There are many reasons why this
is the best solution. One of the reasons being that we shouldn t commit the same mistakes that we
have made in the past. Besides most people in the U.S already want to help. Refugees aren t even a
problem problem in the U.S.
During world war II, the U.S committed one of the biggest mistakes known in history, but it s not too

Major Determinants of Interest Rates
Major Determinants of Interest Rates
Inflation
Inflation is a factor that decisively affects the nature or outcome of interest rates. Inflation is an
increase in prices of goods and services over time (Financial Institutions, Instruments and Markets,
2012). Inflation is the natural byproduct of a robust, growing economy. No inflation, or deflation (the
lowering of prices), is actually a much worse economic indicator. Also, in a healthy economy, wages
rise at the same rate as prices. A standard explanation for the cause of inflation is too much money
chasing too few goods This is also called the demand pull theory. For several possible reasons, more
money is being spent than normal. This could be because interest rates are low and ... Show more

In other words, the rate at which one currency can be exchanged for another (Investopedia, 2012).
Exchange rates play a fundamental role in Australia s level of trade. Exchange rates are among the
most watched, analysed and governmentally manipulated economic measures, but exchange rates
matter on a smaller scale as well because an example being they impact the real return of an investor s
portfolio (Investopedia, 2012). Exchange rates and interest rates, as well as inflation, are all
interconnected. Higher interest rates offer lenders, such as Australia s four big banks; ANZ, NAB,
Commonwealth and Westpac, a higher return compared to other countries...however lower interest
rates tend to decrease exchange rates (Investopedia, 2012). Australia s exchange rates are published

The Importance Of Firing Firearms
The Second Amendment gives American citizens the right to keep and bear arms. Many people own
firearms, whether it is a handgun, rifle, or shotgun, but not everyone knows how they function. The
process is a bit more complex than to pull a trigger, some magic happens, and the projectile
accelerates out of the barrel of the firearm. Every person who owns a firearm should be educated on
the physics of how a firearm functions. Once you are confident with your shot on a target, pull the
trigger. The specific mechanics from the trigger to the hammer or firing pin are different because it
depends on the type of firearm and the company the manufactures it. However, pulling the trigger will
produce the same end result for all firearms. The trigger will release the hammer or firing pin, which

The cartridge is the ammunition that is placed into the chamber of the firearm. Each firearm is
designed to fire a certain caliber cartridge. Each caliber ensures a tight fit in the chamber of its
assigned firearm, which will not allow any gases to escape once fired. Firing the wrong caliber
cartridge could result in a gun jam, or you could destroy the firearm. Bullet cartridges are a
combination of a projectile (bullet), a propellant (gunpowder), and a primer (explosive cap), all
contained in a metal casing. The spark ignites the gunpowder. Most people believe that it is the
explosion that propels the projectile; however, this theory is false. When the powder ignites, it releases
gases that expand and push on the projectile. Sir Isaac Newton s third law of motion, which implies
that for every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. As the expanding gases exert force on the
projectile, it is forced into the barrel of the firearm. The recoil of the firearm is the equal but opposite
force created by the gases forcing the projectile to accelerate out the

Instruction
Everyone who used the web undoubtedly have seen URL as a sight word in the internet world, and
also have used URLs to get web pages and access websites. Actually, most of people term URL as
website address habitually and think of an URL as the name of a file on the World Wide Web. If we
consider the web world as the same as the real world, then URL would be the very unique physical
address of every build on the earth that helps people to locate the accurate place. However, it is not the
entire understanding of URL. URLs could also lead to other resources on the web, such as databases
queries and command output.
Define URL:
According to the definition of Wikipedia, URL is an acronym for Uniform Resource Locator and is a
reference (an address) to a resource that specifies its location on a computer network and a mechanism
for retrieving it on the Internet.
Generally, an URL has two major components: the first part Protocol Identifier and the second part
Resource name . The Protocol Identifier represents the name of the protocol to be used to achieve the
resource. In addition to the commonest one for web pages Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) that is
typically used to serve up hypertext documents, there are many different protocols used to access
different types of resources on the internet, such as File Transfer Protocol (FTP) for file transfer,
MAILTO for email features, JDBC for database access and many other applications.

The Legacy Of The Army
The legacy our leader s leave behind is of the utmost importance to the future of our Army. Not only

them, to their left and right, and even above them to achieve more than they may have believed
possible. One such leader made an indelible impact on me, motivating and inspiring me more than any
leader since. 1SG Alveeno Hodge was the epitome of everything I believed a noncommissioned
officer (NCO) should be, a font of professionalism and military bearing. His influence has guided me
through my career as I matured as a leader and I can only hope to leave such a legacy behind when my
time in the Army comes to an end. 1SG Hodge was an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the company to the top of the hill and back it was close to a seven mile run, the hill itself being a
half mile going up. The hill was notorious for the loose sand and washed out parts from rain storms.
When we hit the hill it was inevitable that the company would break formation and we would straggle
our way up. 1SG was always there, his distinct voice piercing through the blood pounding in my ears.
Let s go Airborne, keep running! You better get up that hill! he would say. He did this with every
individual Soldier in the company. He never overlooked someone or gave up on anyone. He would
circle around as many times as necessary until we were all at the top, finally getting a break, a chance
to breathe. But as soon as we were all there 1SG would start us back down and on our way to the
company. 1SG pushed us and not only made us better, he made us want to be better. His development
of me as a young Soldier directly led to my desire to be an NCO and to my achievement of that goal.
1SG Hodge was known across the brigade for his ability to motivate and lead Soldiers. His
competency as a leader reached beyond just his Soldiers and his company. Every Soldier in the
brigade knew who 1SG Hodge was. Our company was known as the Hammer s and every Soldier who
saw 1SG gave him the greeting Drop the hammer 1SG! The Command Sergeants Major from the

The Ultimate Entrepreneur Essay example
The Ultimate Entrepreneur
In 2002 it was reported that George W. Bush told the then prime minister Tony Blair that The problem
with the French is that they don t have a word for entrepreneur . Putting it kindly, this was a mistake.
Translated from French, an entrepreneur is someone who undertakes something. Of course it carries a
much wider meaning than that in the modern English definition. An entrepreneur is someone who
takes an idea and builds it into something great and successful. Someone with vision, drive and
creativity, and the will to make it happen, often against difficult odds. Or certainly that s the general
perception. Does this person have to be a genius? Above average intelligence? What defines an
entrepreneur really? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an entrepreneur you re in the uncertainty business, so you need a high tolerance for risk. You need
to be willing to fail several times if necessary in order to get it right in the end, and you need to be
flexible in your thinking. Your idea may need to change as your journey unfolds, and you need to be
open enough to accept and work with that change. Uncertainty is a scary place, so you will need to
deal with the fear associated with that. Fear of not knowing where next month s pay cheque is coming
from, fear of failure. You must become accustomed to insecurity as a life choice. And you ll need the
ability to think creatively so you can change perspective to solve all those inevitable problems that
come up.
So far then we have vision, passion, persistence, high risk tolerance, flexible and creative thinking.
Throw in resilience for good measure. Not many people have these qualities up front, or maybe more
importantly, are willing to adopt them. It is argued that our education system does nothing to promote
entrepreneurship either. With its emphasis on conformity and thinking inside the box , it arguably
stifles creativity. It is interesting to note that people like Richard Branson, Alan Sugar and Steve Jobs
didn t finish higher education, and Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard. I m not saying

What Are The Political Factors Of Nokia
Introduction
Nokia, a company which was founded in 1865, set up wood pulp mills to rubber, cable, forestry,
electronics and power generation. Upon entering the telecommunications equipment market in the
1960s, it concentrated in the producing radio transmission equipment. It started making phones in the
1980s and in 1991 the first GSM call was made with a Nokia phone and it supplied these GSM
networks to other countries in Europe. But In the early 1990s investments in all industries except
telecommunication operations were being divested, which led to Nokia being the world leader in the

Seeing Nokia as a multinational company, it will have to abide by the individual country rules and
regulation when it runs its operations there. For example, one of Nokia s manufacturing plants, being
located in China, Nokia would then have to make sure that its operation guidelines and manpower
handling are within China laws. Things to be specific to take note of in the political factor are issues
such as whether the country has a minimum wage law, whether health and safety regulations are up to
standard. This will prevent Nokia from getting any bad reputation if the workers in China are working
too hard which might cause displeasure among the employees which might revolt, causing a fatality
from lack of safety regulations. If all these are followed, any bad press or worker s revolt would then
be prevented and thus Nokia s would not be affected in a negative way. Furthermore, Finland, being
Nokia s parent location should be in good relationship with the other countries that Nokia is having
their operations in, because if both countries are not in a good relationship, or if there are any political
instability that might cause new laws to be implemented, it will affect Nokia a

  • 2. What Makes George Herbert Hoover A Good President Alexandria Helms Dr. Endsley HIST 1302 24 June 2016 Herbert Hoover was elected as president in 1929, but before that he was much more. Hoover was born a Quaker in Iowa, which makes him the only Iowan president. He had a hard childhood due to both of his parents passing away and leaving he and his two siblings orphans at the age of 9. He then moved in with his uncle in Oregon until he attended college at Stanford, making him one of the first people to go there. He graduated with a degree in geology and became an engineer. After awhile Hoover got deeply involved with humanitarian work and was then appointed by president Woodrow Wilson in 1917,when the US entered WW1, as head of Food Administration. His success in that position allowed him to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He won that election by a landslide and even though he had done an incredible job his first term, the Great Depression was still a huge deal and the economy needed help.. This new wave included the Social Security Act, which provided Americans s who weren t working or couldn t work income for when they were older. It also included the Works Progress Administration, which provided jobs for the unexperienced and unemployed. They were not allowed to work with private industry so instead they put their focus on construction of public things such as schools, roads and parks. They also gave employment opportunities to artists, writer, theater directors and musicians (The New Deal). Then, in July of 1935, came the Wagner Act which created the National Labor Relations Board in order to oversee union elections and make sure businesses were treating their workers fairly. Workers all over the nation grew to be more violent and forceful. They started strikes that would eventually grow to multiple cities at once. They were demanding their rights and fighting for what they wanted. The conservatives on the Supreme Court argues that they were in unconstitutional extension of federal authority. Roosevelt, with the purpose of protecting his programs, came out with a plan to add liberal justices in order to neutralize the conservatives. It ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Comparison Of The Characters In Henriquez s Novel The... In life people are often compare each other for relative success, and so often and conveniently siblings are compared to each other. We see this comparison in Christiana s Henriquez s novel, The Book of Unknown Americans with the characters of Enrique and Mayor. Between the two brothers, one has clearly accomplished more great feats in his parents eyes, him being Enrique. Throughout the book the accomplishment of Enrique is felt acts as a burden towards his younger brother, Mayor. Mayor, try as he might, is not his brother and this is seen through Mayor failures to meet the standards of Enrique presented in the book. There is a sibling rival between the brothers created by their father Rafael Toro. An advancement of knowledge on the subject of sibling rivals can help us to further understand the situation of the brothers, by examining the studies of some scholars on the effects older siblings have on the younger siblings. Rebecca Webber s Two Sibling, One Spotlight focus on how the older sibling set the goals for the younger siblings. Zeng yin Chen and Ruth X. Liu work Comparing Adolescent Only Children with Those Who Have Siblings on Academic Related Outcomes and Psychosocial Adjustment research allows for an insight of real life academics of only and children with siblings generalized results in an academic test; presenting a significant difference between the two. Jensen, Alexander C. and Susan M. McHale What Makes Siblings Different? The development of Sibling Differences in Academic Achievements and Interest argues that more academically successful older siblings generate higher expectation of parents to push the younger sibling to achieve similar academics goals. Though most of the data indicate that the older sibling usually outperforms the younger siblings academically I will argue, this sibling rivalry is not a negative but rather if anything is positive for the younger sibling. A quick aside with my own personally experiences as the youngest of three brothers. Often my siblings have set the curve for what is acceptable and not weather that be academics or that be sports. In my own competitive nature, I have sought to surpass my brothers, with me being the first of the three to go to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Women s Role In The Revolutionary War Women have played an instrumental role in every American conflict from the Revolutionary War to today complex battlefields. A major turning point for women s rights was the establishment of the Women s Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. WAAC soldiers fought to gain legitimacy within the military and overcome social biases. Their professionalism and determination paved the way forward for women s integration into one all military branches. The best way to illustrate women s integration is to start back in colonial times. • 6. Analyzing Carper s A Good Death A Good Death by Carolyn Adams talks about being present while assessing a patient. Carolyn Adams sits on the side of the patient s bed to talk to them so they feel like she is not in a rush to get out of the room. Sometimes peoples standing posture shows that they are in a hurry to get somewhere else. In this story is it expressed that palliative care nurses are not miracle workers, they are there to allow the palliative patients to have a good death (SOURCE, PICARD, 2000). The nurse has to do research in order to know which method would be the best for each patient, and to learn all the new strategies to keep the patients comfortable. The nurse s knowledge is also up to date on all the kinds of new equipment such as mattresses that help prevent the patient from getting bedsores. The nurse is aware that the only physical pain that is hard to treat and control is neuropathic, this is determined through research. The nurse has gained knowledge through their own person understanding and empath which is part of Carper s (1978) ways of knowing through their experience of when their own grandfather was a patient before they were in palliative care. They had an experience that they would never want a family to go through when their loved one is dying. Through this experience it made the nurse want to go into palliative care so they could use their new knowledge to try their best to make a family with a dying loved one witness a good death . The nurse uses knowledge and attitudes built by an ethical framework. The nurse listens to what the patients want allowing them to be in control of their life, respecting their life, and doing what is right for the patient s well being. The nurse knows what the patient wants in order to die a good death even if it means stopping treatment so that there is no more pain but possibly a shorter life span. The nurse shows knowledge through the awareness of the immediate situation and the awareness of the patient and their awareness of their circumstances as a unique individual. The nurse takes their time with each patient in order to understand them. • 7. Their Eyes Were Watching God By Zora Neale Hurston Throughout many years in the early 19th century, people were forced to work in very poor environments. From working for long hours on fields and plantations, they did not have an opportunity to have a free and self fulfilling life. Their lives were very similar to that of a mule where they had to perform very tiring and hard jobs for most of the day. In many instances, people lived their whole life working towards freeing themselves from the work but were never able to accomplish their goal. In Their Eyes Were Watching God, by Zora Neale Hurston, the mule is used as a symbol of the way Janie is treated in each of her relationships except when she is with Teacake, demonstrating that it is more worthy to work like a mule with a lover than live a leisurely life without one. When Nannie sees Janie kissing Johnny Taylor, she immediately breaks them up because she is trying to save Janie from making a bad decision. She says, Janie, youse uh oman, now, so... yeah, Janie, youse got yo womanhood on yuh... Ah wants to see you married right away (12). Since Janie still has her womanhood, Nannie wants Janie to be married so her womanhood is not stripped away from her. Janie s grandmother was raped around the age that Janie is right now and she does not want Janie to have the same fate. Nannie thinks that by marrying Janie off at a young age it will not only protect her from other men, but it will also allow her to live a hopeful and prosperous life. Concerning everything we could ask we can ask for quite a bit! We sometimes pray: Lord, I want a million dollars, and a brand new car. Well, that s not exactly what God is teaching here. How about opportunities to reach the lost? Prayers for patience? Prayers for wisdom? We can think quite a few things as well: Can God really help me through this temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13)? Is God going to be there for me through the hard times (Psalm 23)? Will He provided for my needs (Matthew 6:31 33)? Finally, the verse in Ephesians says: according to the power that works within us. Santa is busy double checking Xmas lists, and plotting the logistics of the world s greatest overnight delivery. But a new UK board game, Santa vs Jesus, has blighted the festive season with unwelcome sectarian dissension, presenting Xmas as a pitched battle between Jesus and Santa. Cries of insult, blasphemy ensue: the satirical board game is accused of falsely equating belief in Jesus with belief in Santa Claus. My blood boils at this sacrilege. And, since when must omniscient beings lower themselves to mere terrestrial standards of empirical proof? Why should the lowly and common measures of evidence be applied to Santa alone? Indeed, using the arguments applied to other contemporary deities, belief in Santa is more than reasonable. As St Anselm argued: if we can conceive of a being of which there is no greater, and, given an extant being is greater than one purely imagined then; the greatest being must exist. Thus, if we accept the premise that Santa is the greatest gift giver, then, by irrefutable logic he must exist. Boo ya! Never mind that this also applies to the greatest sophist, the greatest idiot and the greatest obscurantist. They exist also, and often employ St Anselm s argument in favour of their own articles of faith. And, as we know, faith is an element of proof in itself. Have faith and ye shall be rewarded. The conflict appeared characteristic of the rottenness of old Europe, which favored the neutrality position of majority of American citizens. However, a series of implacable events dragged the United States into the war. This paper will discuss the events that justified the United States entry into World War 1 while exploring the roles which public opinion should play when making such decisions in comparison to expert policy makers opinions. Another factor that majorly influenced American public opinion was stories run by British press regarding invasion of neutral Belgium by Germany. Allegations of small towns being eliminated and innocent civilians being killed angered and stunned the Americans. Although some of these stories were fabricated to serve as British propaganda, they served their purpose of prompting a strong anti German sentiment. The protection of its economic interests was also a major factor, which influenced the decision for America to participate in World War 1. American businesspersons such as J.P. Morgan who were interested in victory of the alliance funded French and British wars. These funds, roughly 3 billion US Dollars were mainly in form of loans and bond purchases. This led to the fear that incase Central Powers (Germany, Bulgaria, Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire) emerged victorious; the Allies (France, Britain and Italy) would be unable to repay these debts. As a measure to counter this risk, these businessmen united to support a campaign movement; Preparedness Movement , which pushed for America to intervene in the war and support the Allied forces. • 14. Claude Debussy s `` Claire De Lune `` Claude Debussy was born in France on August 22, 1862 during a decade in which Roger Nichols s claims was one of the low points of French musical life (4). Debussy clashed with the musical norms of his time due to his fascination with writing music for how it sounds and feels. Lesure writes, Ever since his years at the Conservatoire, Debussy had felt that he had more to learn from artists than from career obsessed musicians (5). Debussy composed from the ideas around him and this is heard in his composition of Clair de lune . Claude Debussy s Claire de lune is one of his most beloved and known piano works. Clair de lune is the third movement of Debussy s piano concerto, Suite Bergamasque, published in 1905 and offers a view into the complexity and originality of Claude Debussy. Clair de lune beautifully displays Debussy s fascination with nature and symbolist poetry. Debussy uses form and atmospheric phrasing to depict the melancholic and subdued beauty of nature. In 1903 Debussy wrote, Music is a mysterious form of mathematics whose elements are derived from the infinite. Music is the expression of the movement of the waters, the play of curves described by changing breezes. There is nothing more musical than a sunset. (Vallas 8) Debussy felt a strong connection with the arts and nature. Jonathan Glover, in his article Matters of Life and Death casts dispersions on both pro abortion and anti abortion debates citing them as too knee jerk emotional reactions diminishing the inherent complexity of the other side (1. Glover, CC2006, p. 0110). Glover comprehensively addresses the key points of both sides of the abortion debate and evaluates their inherent virtues, especially for those who hold these opinions, then methodically points out its flaws. Ultimately, Glover comes to the conclusion that though a fetus is a human at the moment of conception, the right to abort lies with the mother and her own self determination. Glover begins his article by claiming that the status of the fetus, historically, has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are essentially three objections to murder: it takes away the victim s autonomy, it prevents the victim from years of life it was due, and the effects of others who had some relation to the victim (6. Glover, CC2006, p. 0110). Casting aside religious teachings because of the variety of religions, Glover focuses on these three objections. Glover claims that a fetus has no real autonomy of its own, thus can not be afforded its own rights and that even if the fetus did have rights, the rights and autonomy of the mother supercede the rights of the fetus (7. Glover, CC2006, p. 0113). In this way, the second reason also falls by the leeway because years of life due to the mother if her life was threatened by the pregnancy or the years she has to invest in raising an unwanted child is usurped by the birth of the fetus. And finally, though not explicitly mentioned, the only other person that a fetus has any relation or interaction with is the mother, thus if the mother wants the fetus aborted, the moral implications that arise reside solely with the mother. It is in this way that Glover returns to his original assertion that to deny women the right to control what happens in their bodies is wrong, but cautions that a fetus is a human right at conception, so ending the life of the fetus is equal to ending the life of any human, yet the rights afforded to women trump all of this and whatever moral pitfalls that a ... Throughout the French Revolution there were many negative and positive aspects but overall it negatively affected France in the long run and is still affecting them today. The creation of a monarchy led to the French Revolution because rarely anyone believed that a monarchy should be created. The monarchy went against everything that most of the people believed. Feudalism was abolished because of the creation of the monarchy. (Doc 4) The social problems led to the French Revolution because of how unfair the social class was. • 25. African Colonialism And Its Effects On Africa In the 1800 s countries were in search for land to expand their country into, this happened to many places including Africa. Colonialism was a time when countries took control of another land, which they then governed through direct or indirect rule depending on the country. During this time, Africa was most sought after due to its resources and its uninhabited land. Due to this, all colonial powers scrambled to get their hands on a piece of Africa in order to expand their areas of rule. As a result of the scramble for Africa the Berlin Conference was held. At this conference representatives from fourteen countries came together to divide up Africa s land (Africans had no say in the matter, however). With colonial powers now in control, not everyone was pleased seeing as the governing country was only using them for natural resources and economic gain, which of course caused resistance with people refusing to assimilate to the colonial power. Eventually, anti colonial movements sprung up and they did whatever they could to try and regain their right to self rule. This ultimately led to boycotts, strikes, the formation of unions and political parties just to regain independence. Every person who owns a firearm should be educated on the physics of how a firearm functions. Once you are confident with your shot on a target, pull the trigger. The specific mechanics from the trigger to the hammer or firing pin are different because it depends on the type of firearm and the company the manufactures it. However, pulling the trigger will produce the same end result for all firearms. The trigger will release the hammer or firing pin, which will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The cartridge is the ammunition that is placed into the chamber of the firearm. Each firearm is designed to fire a certain caliber cartridge. Each caliber ensures a tight fit in the chamber of its assigned firearm, which will not allow any gases to escape once fired. Firing the wrong caliber cartridge could result in a gun jam, or you could destroy the firearm. Bullet cartridges are a combination of a projectile (bullet), a propellant (gunpowder), and a primer (explosive cap), all contained in a metal casing. The spark ignites the gunpowder. Most people believe that it is the explosion that propels the projectile; however, this theory is false. When the powder ignites, it releases gases that expand and push on the projectile. Sir Isaac Newton s third law of motion, which implies that for every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. As the expanding gases exert force on the projectile, it is forced into the barrel of the firearm. Instruction Everyone who used the web undoubtedly have seen URL as a sight word in the internet world, and also have used URLs to get web pages and access websites. Actually, most of people term URL as website address habitually and think of an URL as the name of a file on the World Wide Web. If we consider the web world as the same as the real world, then URL would be the very unique physical address of every build on the earth that helps people to locate the accurate place. Not only that, but in the act of creating such a legacy an Army leader inspires and motivates the Soldiers under them, to their left and right, and even above them to achieve more than they may have believed possible. One such leader made an indelible impact on me, motivating and inspiring me more than any leader since. 1SG Alveeno Hodge was the epitome of everything I believed a noncommissioned officer (NCO) should be, a font of professionalism and military bearing. His influence has guided me through my career as I matured as a leader and I can only hope to leave such a legacy behind when my time in the Army comes to an end. 1SG Hodge was an ... The hill was notorious for the loose sand and washed out parts from rain storms. When we hit the hill it was inevitable that the company would break formation and we would straggle our way up. 1SG was always there, his distinct voice piercing through the blood pounding in my ears. Let s go Airborne, keep running! You better get up that hill! he would say. He did this with every individual Soldier in the company. He never overlooked someone or gave up on anyone. He would circle around as many times as necessary until we were all at the top, finally getting a break, a chance to breathe. But as soon as we were all there 1SG would start us back down and on our way to the company. 1SG pushed us and not only made us better, he made us want to be better. His development of me as a young Soldier directly led to my desire to be an NCO and to my achievement of that goal. 1SG Hodge was known across the brigade for his ability to motivate and lead Soldiers. His competency as a leader reached beyond just his Soldiers and his company. Every Soldier in the brigade knew who 1SG Hodge was. Our company was known as the Hammer s and every Soldier who saw 1SG gave him the greeting Drop the hammer 1SG! • 37. The Ultimate Entrepreneur Essay example The Ultimate Entrepreneur In 2002 it was reported that George W. Bush told the then prime minister Tony Blair that The problem with the French is that they don t have a word for entrepreneur . Putting it kindly, this was a mistake. Translated from French, an entrepreneur is someone who undertakes something. Of course it carries a much wider meaning than that in the modern English definition. An entrepreneur is someone who takes an idea and builds it into something great and successful. Someone with vision, drive and creativity, and the will to make it happen, often against difficult odds. Or certainly that s the general perception. Does this person have to be a genius? Above average intelligence? What defines an entrepreneur really? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As an entrepreneur you re in the uncertainty business, so you need a high tolerance for risk. You need to be willing to fail several times if necessary in order to get it right in the end, and you need to be flexible in your thinking. Your idea may need to change as your journey unfolds, and you need to be open enough to accept and work with that change. Uncertainty is a scary place, so you will need to deal with the fear associated with that. Fear of not knowing where next month s pay cheque is coming from, fear of failure. You must become accustomed to insecurity as a life choice. And you ll need the ability to think creatively so you can change perspective to solve all those inevitable problems that come up. So far then we have vision, passion, persistence, high risk tolerance, flexible and creative thinking. Throw in resilience for good measure. Not many people have these qualities up front, or maybe more importantly, are willing to adopt them. It is argued that our education system does nothing to promote entrepreneurship either. With its emphasis on conformity and thinking inside the box , it arguably stifles creativity. It is interesting to note that people like Richard Branson, Alan Sugar and Steve Jobs didn t finish higher education, and Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard. I m not saying ... For example, one of Nokia s manufacturing plants, being located in China, Nokia would then have to make sure that its operation guidelines and manpower handling are within China laws. Things to be specific to take note of in the political factor are issues such as whether the country has a minimum wage law, whether health and safety regulations are up to standard. This will prevent Nokia from getting any bad reputation if the workers in China are working too hard which might cause displeasure among the employees which might revolt, causing a fatality from lack of safety regulations. If all these are followed, any bad press or worker s revolt would then be prevented and thus Nokia s would not be affected in a negative way. Furthermore, Finland, being Nokia s parent location should be in good relationship with the other countries that Nokia is having their operations in, because if both countries are not in a good relationship, or if there are any political instability that might cause new laws to be implemented, it will affect Nokia a ...
