The target audience for the media product is teenagers aged 11-19, predominantly female. Bright colors, images, and a male celebrity will appeal most to this demographic. The ideal reader is described as a 17-year-old female named Katie who enjoys pop music, follows music-related television shows and concerts, and would be interested in the magazine's content and design.
2. Age
• The age of my target audience is between 11 and 19, so
basically a teenage audience.
• This age group would be most interested in my media product
for many reasons. Firstly, the colours are quite bright and will
appeal to teenagers more than an older audience. Also the
images and photos appeal to a younger audience, which I
talked about in question two.
• I think overall it suits the age of target market well.
3. Gender
• The target audience for my magazine in terms of gender is
predominantly female.
• Due to the style and content of the pages I think a female
audience will be attracted to my magazine more than male.
For example the use of pink throughout the pages will
stereotypically appeal to girls more than boys, also the use of
a male celebrity will generally attract female as appose to
males.
4. Audience Profile
• This is a photo of my ideal demographic for my
Magazine, Katie.
She has a keen interest in music, especially of the pop genre so
she will be interested in the contents of my magazine. Katie
spends a lot of her spare time, following music, such as watching
X Factor, listening to CD’s and also going to concerts such as One
Direction Live which she attended last year, this interest will
mean she is likely to purchase my magazine .
She is 17 years old so is the ideal age for my magazine, and also
female, this means that the design of my magazine will appeal
to her.
