Unprecedented violence broke out in many parts of the country immediately Mwai Kibaki of the
Party of National Unity (PNU) was declared the winner of the presidential poll and sworn in on
30th December 2007. The violence escalated as the leader of Orange Democratic Movement
(ODM), Raila Odinga, immediately rejected the outcome of the poll. Such violence had never
occurred in Kenya before and it had devastating consequences. The violence, commonly referred
to as Post Election Violence (PEV), continued for the next 14 days after Kibaki was declared the
winner and according to the Commission of Inquiry into Post Election Violence report (CIPEV or
WAKI report), it led to 1,133 deaths, rape of approximately 3,000 women, severe injuries to 3,561
persons, massive destruction of both government and private property and displacement of over
300,000 people. Kenya had not experienced violence of such gravity before as previous ethnic
clashes documented by the Akiwumi Commission which was commissioned in 1998 and the report
released in 2002.

Abstract In the following paper we are going to discuss the different coding techniques such as
Orthogonal STBC , Alamouti s coding and their performance on a QPSK signal with Rayleigh
fading. We will plot it for SNR values ranging from 0dB to 40 dB. In this we will be taking
different combination for number of transmitting and the radiating antenna used.

A. ALAMOUTI S CODING (M=N=2)
Alamouti s coding includes 2 transmitting and 2 receiving antennas. The h matrix for this type
would be 2x2 matrix. The transmission rate is also optimized to the full capacity as it transmits 2
signals in 2 time slots. The full data rate can be achieved in this coding technique.

Fear of crime among college students has been examined, throughout various researches in every
measure. Men and women both have different outlooks on the way their fear is determined.
Woman usually are stalked more by people that they know or usually are harassed, while men are

They have been trying to understand how students perceive campus safety, their fears of crime
and how they look to continue to be safe. The way students look at safety determines if their fear
of crime comes from the environment or if it comes from personal fear. They started focusing on
gender differences and how males and females feel about their safety at their schools. According
to one of the articles that was found researchers (Jackson, Veneziano Rigger, 2004) suggested
that development of a policy that screen potential students in an effort to reduce crimes on

The writings of Galen describe how he was treated Eudemus, a neighbor of his, and how he
came to visit him every night (Galen, 77 79). Galen was with this man through every step of his
illness. One interesting thing is the way the man sits and waits for Galen every night. After
