the New Orleans Museum of Art, contains several dozen 20th century and 21st century sculptures
from across the globe. The five acre garden mostly features figures from American and European
artists, most of them being created within the past 70 years. Surrounded by the beautiful landscape
of City Park, many impressive works are presented at the sculpture garden. However, two particular
works that stood out to me were the Venus Victorius and Untitled.
The first piece I chose was Venus Victorius, a bronze sculpture made by Pierre Auguste Renoir in

Scaffold s Role in Scarlet Letter
The scaffold, in Puritan times, was where criminals were shamed, ridiculed, and executed by the
community. When they were released from jail, the first place that they went was to the scaffold, to
be shown to the community. In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the scaffold was not
only a place of shame, but it was where character s social status rose and fell throughout the book.
Hester Prynne s world came crashing down atop the scaffold. After spending time in jail for being
pregnant outside of wedlock, she had to face her community, wearing a big scarlet letter across
her bosom. The scarlet letter was the community s punishment for her sin and was their way of
trying to get her to repent. The community forced her to wear the scarlet letter at all times and
she was constantly shunned and abused for it. She wrestled with the decision to leave, and one
time even considered killing Pearl and committing suicide. Also, she sees her husband for the

Another young woman, Ella Thomas, described her pregnancy in a manner that further complicates
interpreting historical pregnancy. While having a miscarriage, Ella describes herself as sick but
does not appear to be bothered by the event. Despite experiencing symptoms such as fatigue, Ella
does not describe her pregnancywithin these terms. If anything, she finds her symptoms a nuisance
(Thomas). Furthermore, her own pregnancy has led her to sympathize with other pregnant women.
She mentions in the diary that if she had sole management of a plantation that pregnant women

The Battle of Gettysburg The Battle of Gettysburg happened after Lee won Chancelorsville. Lee
went to Pennsylvania hoping to capture a northern city and re supply his men. Lee also hoped to
draw the Union men from the Mississippi River. On July 1, 1863 Lee sent Confederate General
Harry Heth to Gettysburg to get shoes for his troops. Union General John Buford s force was dug in
at Seminary Ridge in Gettysburg. Heth came in contact with Buford s scouts. The Confederates
went up an unfinished railroad and arrived outside of town at 8:00A.M. The Confederates line
was at Cemetery Ridge. After two hours of fighting Reynold s Union force arrived on the scene.
Reynold was killed by a Confederate sharpshooter almost as soon as he entered the battle field so

Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and
governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided
by information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political
systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well being in societies

decisions of firms, governments, and individuals in the United State in many different ways. The
World Trade Organizationmanages the rules and trade between nations and has a significant impact
on intellectual property rights. Intellectual property rights refer creations of the mind, such as
inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used in commerce
(World Intellectual Property Organization, 2014). The purpose of this paper is to compare and
contrast free trade and protectionist theories, analyze how the global environment functions on a
micro and macro level within the context of the World Trade Organization, analyze the two level
game theory and how organizations make financial decisions in a globalized environment, and

prominent tradition. Doak S. Campbell Stadium exists as a location on campus where this prideful
spirit is in full effect and embraced by students, alumni, and any other visitors. Right in the heart of
this scene, in front of the footballstadium, stands the Unconquered statue. The massive monument,
standing a few stories above the heads of those passing by, welcomes spectators into the stadium
as it sets the glorified mood that takes place during Florida State home football games, especially

powerful, glorified, and prideful. Positioned in one of the most traditional places on Florida State
University s campus, the Unconquered statue stands tall and proud on Langford Green in front of
Doak Campbell Stadium. Due to its close proximity to the football stadium, the monument is most
often associated with the game of football and the traditions that are presented during each and
