Letter Response To Executive Order 9056 Dwight Okita
There are three tools used in both the letter and the short story to reinforce the common theme
between both pieces: to explain what it means to be truly American. The letter Response to Executive
Order 9066 by Dwight Okita tells a girl s thoughts and opinions to show the theme. Through the
narration, the character s reference to her messy room makes it seem as though she is a average
American girl. The internal thoughts of this character are used a number of times to paint a picture of
her views of herself, including in this quote about chopsticks and hot dogs: I have always felt funny
using chopsticks and my favorite food is hot dogs. (Okita, par 7) Which reveals that something that is
part of her ancestors is something she s not used

Evaluation Of A Research Project
6.1 Introduction and overview
This section describes the methodology used for the research. It considers first the philosophical
position agreed for the research, then the methodology involved in the research. In this case, the
research was made up of a focus group, using a sample of young people and adults with LDD and a
small number of parents and carers who completed questionnaires. The methods of data analysis were
then documented, and the final section reflects on issues of validity and reliability.
6.2 Philosophical position
It is understood that all research is centred on the researchers motivating philosophical assumptions.
Smith and Wood s opinions are that worldviews and philosophical positions are the basis for making
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, these worldviews and philosophical assumptions are what researchers have endorsed to
carry out their research along with their chosen methodologies for the expansion of gathering new
knowledge in a given study (Frels and Onwuegbuzie, 2016). Therefore, to conduct and evaluate any
research, it is important for that reason to know what these assumptions are.
6.3 Epistemology foundationalism
It is explained that Epistemology is a term that describes the nature of knowledge and the means of
knowing; how we know what we know or what we conceive as a truth (Kuada, 2012, p.59) and the
way knowledge is created and constructed or revealed and fixed (Wisker, 2011). Epistemology also
provides a philosophical background for deciding what kinds of knowledge are legitimate and
adequate, which helps with the most novice of researchers who quickly select a data gathering method
as they are keen to get on with the job (Gray, 2011).
Positivism is seen as being concerned with gathering facts about a reality that is seen as real
(Silverman, 2006) in order to explain human behaviour (Bryman and Bell, 2011). In opposition to this
is interpretivism that seeks to understand human behaviour (Maylor and Blackman, 2005), whilst
constructionism holds the belief that as reality is socially constructed and subjective there are multiple
realities, Berger and Luckman

Comparing Irony Insert Flap AAnd Throw Away
Insert Flap A and Throw Away was written by S. J. Perelman and first published on February 5, 1944
in The New Yorker ( The New Yorker ). The essay illustrates how a man s struggle with assembling a
toy brings about his nervous breakdown. S. J. Perelman uses irony and humor throughout the essay to
make his point. Readers relate to the anxiety associated with the main character s struggle. Perelman
explores how people allow trivial things to become too important. S. J. Perelman uses phrases like, ...I
made the most important discovery: the shortest, cheapest method of inducing a nervous breakdown
ever perfected to express sarcasm (Perelman, 186). He exaggerates his character s experience in
phrases like, the subject is placed in a sharply

Persuasive Essay On Climate Crisis
As advances in technology and medicine lead to longer lifespans and lowered mortality from disease,
some people worry about overpopulating the earth. These people also argue that aid work will fuel the
population growth and demolish one of the only forms of population control. Melinda Gates explains
that as people work to provide more education and contraceptives to women in third world countries,
the birth rate will naturally decrease, especially as they worry less about having a child survive into
adulthood (Rosen). Currently there is enough to sustain the population and its growth in the years to
come; presently the issue is not the number of people, but rather, the distribution and effective use of
resources.
The World Economic Forum s Global Shaper Survey shows that most millennials agree that climate
change is the most urgent issue and that they can do something to fix it (Jackson). Bill Gates has
mentioned the possibility of a new charity dedicated to solving the climate change issue because he
views it as the most imminent threat to the survival and advancement of humanity. An article on The
Guardian even mentions that The foundation s annual letter for 2015 says their achievements could be
undone by the advancing climate crisis. (Mathiesen). Gates has even theorized that, at the current rate,
we could be facing serious climatic consequences in as little as 15 or 20 years.
The nonprofit sector should direct efforts to income disparity and unemployment. According

Song Analysis Of Concrete Angel
The song I chose is a song sung by Martina McBride, a country singer, called Concrete Angel. The
song was written by Rob Crosby and Stephanie Bentley, later released on November 18, 2002. The
song is about a young girl, Angela Carter, who doesn t have the most stable and safest home. At home
she is domestically abused by her drugged mother, neglected and forced to take care of herself; she
packs her own school lunch, walks to school by herself, and is wearing the same dress showing her
mom does not care to give her new clothes. When watching the music video, in the beginning children
are laughing at her, which shows she is bullied, another main theme tackled in the song. The bruises
are seen by her teacher and the neighbors hear her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The girl has no authority figure, a careless mother, no father, and no other adult to rescue her. A third
social force would be Theory of Self, formation of self through interactions with significant others.
Through the lack of recourses, having to hide her abuse and the neglect of her mother, she s forced to
put on a strong front, keep her home life a secret, and pretend everything is okay although it s not;
through the wind and the rain she stands hard as a stone in a world that she can t rise above. Her home
life and lack of relationships with others really takes a toll on her happiness and sometimes she wishes
she was never born. A fourth social force would be related to the child abuse and neglect, there s
actually two sociological phenomenon and norm breaking. It s considered a sociological phenomenon
because it is not an innate behavioral pattern for human beings to follow. Abusing and your child, is
not only a norm breaking but also breaking the law. Norms today when it comes to a child is expected
of the parent to love, take care, and provide for them, not to beat them. This was not the case at all in
Concrete Angel, for her mother constantly beat her, never showed any love towards her or took care of
her. Another norm violated would be with the teacher and neighbors; they heard or saw signs of abuse
but never stepped up to save the girl from the abuse. They hid behind fear and turned a blind

The Canadian Labor Market Of Canada
There is a very strong emphasis on human rights systems and laws to address discrimination in
Canada. Unfortunately simultaneously, Canadians also have a heritage of racism. It is not targeted
only at Aboriginal persons, contrary to a common belief; it is also targeted towards other groups also,
consisting of Chinese, African, South Asian, Japanese, Muslim and Jewish Canadians. Even today the
Canadian structures and systems are affected by this legacy distressing the lives of everyone and
especially the racialized people in Canada.
This paper is an attempt to understand ethnicity exhibited in the Canadian labor market. There is a
long history of maintaining unfair policies and biased practices towards Canadians who are racially
different on the basis of skin color and other apparent features. Sadly with time unfavorable policies
and differential treatments targeted at racial minorities turn out to be specialized characteristics for
these groups. Given this framework, unfavorable social features ascribed to racial minorities and
superficial characteristics become inseparable. It has been proved by research that even to this day;
Canadian society persists to assign disparate social value to people of diverse origins. Several studies
have reveal that non white minorities are regarded as generally less favorable and less desirable than
people of European origin by Canadians, and that the concept of race continues to be a way to make
sense of their daily experiences

The game is realistic from the historical and educational points of view. It would be interesting for
young aged persons as it delivers the knowledge recites the events that had occurred throughout the
long battle between disease and science through smooth animation movie and historical hints.
For middle aged persons, it would be kind of boring as it s not that thrilling and have a steady pace of

From the game s progression point of view, the game is not realistic, as it keeps continuing regardless
of the decision making options. There is no ultimate consequence of making the wrong decision and

Cardiovascular medicine is one of the fastest growing area of study in the medical field. Many
advancements have been made towards understanding how the cardiovascular system functions.
Along with the advancements comes a greater understanding of the diseases, disorders and defects that

Tetralogy of Fallot. This debilitating congenital heart defect reeks havock on the heart and other

[Bailliard, OJRD] Fallot s contributions gave way to significant advances in understanding the defects
and how this disrupted the correct blood flow throughout the body. Fallot is responsible for
discovering that while, usually only one of the defects occurs, rarely, the cyanotic patient will present
with two or more, then most common of the four defects being the deviated septum and the pulmonary
artery stenosis. When a ventricular septum defect occurs, a mixing of oxygen rich and oxygen poor
blood takes place. A ventricular septum defect is a hole in the septum, or the wall between the left and
right chambers of the heart. This hole happens to be in between the lower two chambers, or ventricles.
The left ventricle receives oxygen rich blood from the lungs, while the right ventricle houses the
oxygen poor blood from the body. The purpose of the separation by the septum is to prevent a mixture
of the blood. Therefore, as long as there is a defect preventing the separation, the heart will continue to
pump a mixture of the blood to the rest of the body. This causes the cells of the body to not receive all
of the required oxygen that it would normally obtain with a fully intact septum, thus causing the
cyanotic, or blue, appearance of the patient. The second most commonly occurring defect is that of
pulmonary stenosis. This affects two areas; the

The Scientific Method Of Psychology
Unit 1 Intro and Research Methods
1. Empiricism states that knowledge can only be derived from the senses. Every science utilizes the
empirical approach, which has developed into the utilization of the scientific method to gain
knowledge. (McLeod, 2008) Since psychology depends on the scientific method to attain knowledge,
psychology can conclusively be considered a science. Besides empirical evidence, some other key
traits of a science are the following: objectivity, control, predictability, hypothesis testing, and
replication. (McLeod, 2008) Psychology ensures objectivity via single , double , and triple blind
experiments. Causation can only be confirmed in psychology through an experiment where all
variables (besides the independent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humanism was developed in response to the pessimism of psychoanalysis and behaviorism.
Humanists believe that all humans have free will and the ability to reach self actualization (Cherry,
n.d.). Out of all three of the early psychological schools, humanism is the most optimistic.
3. The three psychological perspectives that we will be focusing on for the IB Exam are biological,
cognitive, and sociocultural. These three different perspectives would analyze a behavior, such as
being afraid of heights, in three different ways. A psychologist who subscribes to the biological
perspective might say that a person is afraid of heights due to abnormalities in the anterior insular
cortex. A psychologist who subscribes to the cognitive perspective may say that a person is afraid of
heights because he or she associates heights with danger in his or her thoughts. A psychologist who
subscribes to the sociocultural perspective may say that a person is afraid of heights because their
friends and family are afraid of heights, so they learn to be afraid of heights as well.
4. Four types of research studies that psychologists may conduct are case studies, observational
studies, tests, and surveys. A case study is when one individual is carefully observed and test. The
information derived from the observations and tests are used to formulate a detailed description of the
individual. The major advantage

Essay Starting A Spark
Starting a Spark
Having courage isn t the same as having no fear. It s being afraid and pushing forward anyway.
Although spoken by a fictional character, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III from Dreamworks
Dragons, this quote holds a very real truth. This truth is especially evident in the lives of siblings Hans
and Sophie Scholl, founders of a peaceful anti Nazi group in Germany called The White Rose. After
realizing the errors of Hitler s ways, they started writing anonymous leaflets to expose him, which
they knew could cause them a lot of trouble. Despite the looming danger of an entire nation pining
against them, the Scholls persevered courageously to make a difference in their own setting in a way
that inspires me to do the same. In the 1930s, German teenagers everywhere were joining the Hitler
Youth, a movement designed to separate the weak children from the strong adults, as it were. Hitler
believed that the future of Germany laid in the children ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Among the good natured types is moral courage. Moral courage is being persistent in the face of
adversity when everyone else is against what you know is right. This can be manifested in a variety of
ways. It can be as trivial as standing up to a bully or as extreme as going up against an entire nation to
spread a message it does not want to hear. The White Rose knew that Hitler was wrong, yet the wool
had been pulled so thickly over everyone s eyes, that it would take far too long to remove it all before
the authorities exterminated the bugs trying to undo their work. Even so, the White Rose knew that all
it takes is a spark to start an inferno. As little progress as it may have seemed they made, it graduated
into something phenomenal. In the words of Sophie Scholl, Somebody, after all, had to make a start.
What we wrote and said is also believed by many others. They just do not dare to express themselves

All the statutory and legal obligations to be followed without any breach of the law.
Interest of all the stakeholders to be protected by the actions of the management.
The maintenance of ethical conduct and commitment to the values while carrying out the business

In other words, corporate governance is the acceptance by management of the inalienable rights of

Ran hui et al. (2016) explains that the patient made complaints about myalgia, dyspnea, dry cough as
well as vomiting as a result of continued nausea. All these symptoms were identified from the primary
examination that was done at the time of admission. Some of the vital signs that the patient appears
included an extremely high pressure, which was measured to be about 135/72mmHg; a peak body
temperature that was measured to be 38.60C (Hamzah, Jaffar, and Ziad, 2016). At the same time, the
heartbeat of the patient was measured to be about 85/minutes with a respiration rate of 20/minute (Ran

albumin and blood at negative/negative. Ran hui et al. (2016) says that there were also multiple
pneumonic infiltrations that were located in the middle and upper lobes and also in the left lower lobe
that were taken on the chest radiography. According to Hamzah, Jaffar, and Ziad (2016), the doctors
treated the patient by administering 180 μg of pegylated interferon alpha on hospital day (HOD) 1 and
1,800 mg of ribavirin (600 mg every 8 hours) daily from HOD 3 to HOD 7. This process also led to a
discontinuation of anti viral treatments because of thrombocytopenia (lowest platelet count was

managing the conditions that the patient was suffering from, the doctors placed him on a mechanical
ventilator on HOD 4. This was also followed by the increased multiple pneumonia infiltrations that
were always identified. To stabilize the patient further, the doctors decided to undertake a
tracheostomy on the HOD 23, which had the effect of weaning the patient from the mechanical
ventilator HOD 39, which the patient had been given. From all these numerous tests that were

Identifying The Right Candidate As The Biggest Challenge A...
Identifying and Hiring. The interviewee considered recruiting and identifying the right candidate as
the biggest challenge a human resource professional faces. They need to be good at identifying and
securing the services of the best candidates. Resourcefulness and adeptness in how to locate and

professional.
Employee Terminations or Layoffs. The interviewee also considered the legal issues that arise as a
result of carrying out employee terminations or layoffs as a major challenge facing human resource
professionals. The process is stressful as even a single misstep can expose the company to the
possibility of an expensive lawsuit.

Management with metrics allows an organization to have a true measure of how it has reached its
goals and objectives as well as act as an evaluation and analysis tool (Rees Smith, 2014).
Ethical Issues Faced by HR Professionals
Some of the ethical issues faced by human resource professionals include:
Cash and Compensation Plans. There exist ethical issues pertaining to remuneration, executive
compensation, and incentive plans. There is pressure to raise the base of salaries or pay more
incentives to executives for the human resource managers.
Gender, Race, and Disability. Most organizations differentiated employees based on gender, race,
origin, status or disability until recently as the laws and regulations have standardized the conduct of
employers and employees. An organization should only differentiate employees on the basis of
performance and should avoid discriminatory practices.
Privacy. Individuals working in an organization have personal sides to their existences, which they
would want to be respected and not intruded. An employee might prefer that some details about their
lives are private and this might clash with an employer s need to do so. For instance, mail scanning
might be done if an employee is suspected to be misusing company resources.
Some of these ethical issues will not see changes in the near future. For instance, an issue like
compensation will always be a challenge as long as a company pays for labor. The issue of

The 1970 s was a major time period for bodybuilding, some say the most important time period for
this sport. From the best bodybuilder ever to live breaking records and winning titles to poems about
the life of a bodybuilder. The main topic for this essay is American Culture in the 70s but to
summarize it down, bodybuilding is what the topic is because without the 70s, bodybuilding would
not be as popular as it is today. Arnold Schwarzenegger is the best bodybuilder known to man. Reason
is because he had the drive, the determination , the mind set to never give up and always keep pushing
yourself. The 70s was the biggest time period for him because he won his Mr.Olympia 7 times in a

Analysis Of Death Of A Salesman And Of Mice And Men
Arthur Miller and John Steinbeck portray the failure and hopelessness of the American dream in the
play Death of a Salesman and in the novella Of Mice and Men . The American Dream is the idea that
any man or woman can make his or her own fortune, despite his or her past. The principles of the
American dream are hard work and determination it is believed that this will ensures success. Through
the creation of the main characters of the play and novella Arthur Miller and John Steinbeck show that
the American dreams is fraudulent.
During the 1920s and 1930s, the depression was a cause of major hardship and seemed to be a reverse
of the dream which people held dear for so long. Arthur Miller shows this through failure and
hopelessness of the American dream through the protagonist Willy Loman a leader of the Loman
family.Willy is the protagonist a salesman in his late 60s. In Of Mice and Men On October 4 1929,
millions of dollars were washed away in an event named the Wall Street crash. It led to the
hopelessness in America which led the country to a poor state in the country from 1930 1936.Many
people lost their life savings when banks had gone bankrupt, one third of Americas population was
became unemployed. Steinbeck s main characters George and Lennie are the part of the ones who fail
to achieve their dream. Lennie is large, childlike migrant worker. Due to his mental disability, Lennie
completely depends upon George, his friend and traveling companion, for guidance. The

The American Society Moves Forward Into The Contemporary Era
As the American society moves forward into the contemporary era, advertising grew from small
telecast into an argument and suggestion. It is utilized as a form of communication in order to
encourage, persuade, or manipulate a broad audience ( What is the Purpose ). A prominent example
could include advertisements on Television for universities and institutes such as University of
Phoenix and Grand Canyon University. These advertisements, explicitly targeting students, are
attempting to promote the idea of the American dream in the society, which is the notion of every U.S.
citizen having an equal opportunity to achieve wealth, success, and happiness through hard work and
perseverance by attending these particular schools. A majority of Americans perceive a college
education as the ticket to the American dream ( Student Loan Debt ). The interpretations portrayed
,from these college advertisements, grants the observer a window into American beliefs about the idea
of the American dream in society and the false perceptions of it. A primary example can be seen in
Mantsios s Class in America 2009 article, where he talks about a common misconception that the
United States is a fundamentally classless society (Mantsios 624). The advertisements claim that the
American dream is obtainable by attending these particular schools and getting an education because
every person has an equal opportunity, however, that is not the reality of it. The notion of the
American dream is a myth

greenhouse effect allows the sun s radiation to get to Earth and absorbs some of the infrared radiation

This is different than the actual air temperature as the wind chill temperature is usually lower because
of the lost heat from the wind.
3. The last temperature is the wet bulb temperature. This indicates the lowest temperature that can still
evaporate water. The wet bulb temperature is lower than the air temperature, but as the two get closer
together it is harder for the skin to evaporate water which may make someone sweaty and harder for
them to cool off.
4. I thought I remember reading that there was a 4th one which was the difference in temperature from
direct sunlight and indirect sunlight (such as standing in the shade). If you put a thermometer in the

4. (4pts) Differentiate between:
a. weather and climate.
Climate is average conditions or air temperatures over a period of time. Weather is the immediate air

b. frost and frozen dew.
Frost forms when there is enough moisture in the air and the ground is cold to cause the moisture to
condense and reach the dew point. The frost happens because the dew point is below freezing and the
moisture goes from a gas to a solid without hitting the liquid phase. Frozen dew follows the same
process except it goes from gas to liquid to solid.

Liturgy of Saint Denis and Companions
Part 1 Liturgy of Saint Denis and Companions
October 9 is the celebration day of the feast of St. Denis and his companions, Rusticus the priest and
Eleutherius the deacon, who were both martyred alongside and buried with him. Veneration of St.
Denis and his companions began shortly after his death and added to the Roman calendar in 1568 by
Pius V, even though it had already been celebrated regularly since about the year 800 AD. In
traditional Catholic practice, Denis is invoked against diabolical possession and issues of head pain,
the obvious allusion to his beheading. (St. Denis and Companions, 2012). In the Middle Ages many
wore bright colors, some encrusted with jewels during the Feast of St. Denis, particularly in those
cathedrals named after him. This was to signify the movement into a world of light and comfort based
on suffering on earth (Levy, ed., p. 354). Feasts of the saints arose from the early Christian customs of
both commemorating their death and their rebirth into heaven. The readings for the feast of St. Denis
include material from Paul s second letter to the Corinthians (6: 4 10) in which Paul emphasizes that
humans are servants of God in all ways. It is through endurance in hardships, imprisonments, hunger,
and hate that the Holy Spirit enters into us and helps us understand that there is a greater plan. The
issue of sowing in tears shall reap rejoicing focuses on the issue of suffering on this plane of existence
versus finding spiritual comfort

Farm Pond Water Quality Testing
Memorandum
To: Town of Framingham
From: Michael Baldwin
Date: October 17, 2015
Subject: Farm Pond water quality testing
Introduction:
My name is Michael Baldwin, I am a senior at Framingham State University where I am studying
environmental science. The ecology class at the university was recently tasked with collecting water
quality data on Farm Pond. This memo intends to inform the town of Framingham of the data that was
collected, and how it might be analyzed to better understand the water quality and ecosystem health of
Farm Pond as it relates to recreational use.
Methods:
In order to assess the water quality of Farm Pond the class collected a variety of data. The class was
broken into groups which collected multiple types of data from different parts of the pond. Data was
collected from both littoral (area shallow enough for rooted vegetation) and limnetic (area too deep to
support rooted vegetation) zones in the pond.
In the littoral zone three groups collected data on water temperature, pH, water depth and biota.
Sampling was done along three transects, where samples were taken at 1,2,3 and 4 meters from shore.
Water pH was measured using standard pH paper as well as an electronic pH meter. Water temperature
was measured using a thermometer. Water depth was physically measured. Biota data included the
percentage of vegetative coverage in sample plots which was measured visually. In addition, samples
of benthic macro invertebrates were taken using a net drag

Miss Ever s Boys Film critique Essay
Bioethical Issues: Miss Evers Boys
Introduction
Miss Ever s Boys is a docudrama film that was produced by the HBO cable network. The movie
explores ethical and social issues involved in the infamous Tuskegee Study. The study was about
untreated black men with syphilis. The U.S. Public Health Service is said to have conducted a study
among 600 black Americans from the years 1932 to 1972. This study was done in Macon County. This
paper will exclusively explore the critique the Miss Ever s Boys film using ethical frameworks. The
ethical framework includes beneficence, justice, and respect for persons, duty based ethics, virtue
based ethics, and the right s based ethics. The paper will identify how the above listed ethical
principles were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the movie, Miss Ever s Boys , only blacks were included in the study. The study recruited 600 black
men and none white person. To start with, this was discrimination of the highest order. This means that
only the black men were at the risk of dying, considering that they treated them with placebos. This
means that only the black men s lives were endangered while the bioethics requires that the risk to be
distributed equally (B. Miss Evers Boys and the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, 2013).
Respect for persons means that people have a right to fully exercise their autonomy. Here, people need
to be given a chance to make their own choices. In the film, Miss Ever s Boys, it is clear that the
participants were not respected at all. The first show of disrespect was when the U.S. Public Health
Service decided to conduct a study and lie to the participants that they were going to offer them cure
to syphilis. The second disrespect shown was the discrimination in the study where only the blacks
were selected. Lastly, the U.S. Public Health Service disrespected the participants knowing that it was
dangerous. Therefore, the respect for person ethical principle was not meet in the movie Miss Ever s
Boys .
Duty based ethics are based on duty or obligation. Kant argues that there are higher principles that are
good in no matter the time, situation, or culture. Therefore, when faced with

The Effects Of Music On The Revolutionary War
To deny the power of music is a waste of an excellent source, one important and extremely useful in
the way we learn. Though some people would look at music as a step forward in the progression of
humanity, it is known to be a much stronger force; and for some, it really defines their existence.
Music is definitely a driving force in society: it has been in existence since the beginning of human
race. The average human spends many hours a day listening to music, whether it s taken as a main
interest or just as something to satisfy us for the day. Music has and certainly had a great effect on
how we think and act, for all one knows, affecting our intelligence. Music served a very functional
role in the Revolutionary War. Songs were written and sang for different reasons. Mainly, they were
used to help make people thrilled, emotional, make fun of the enemy, forget the terrible realities of
war. During the American Civil War, music played a distinguished role on both sides of the conflict:
the Union and the Confederate. At the time, on the battlefield, a variety of instruments were being
played to issue and lead marching orders and even, at times, to simply boost the Sarkisyan 2 morale of
a soldier. Music was a major diversion from the slaughtering and killing going on, helping the soldiers
deal with their homesickness and boredom. WWI had a major impact, not only on Europe, but on the
world. The music during the time is also chaotic for the most part, like the war

Do Nations Truly Last
Do Nations Truly Last
Do nations last forever? As Noah Feldman put it, Empires inevitably fall, and when they do, history
judges them for the legacies they leave behind. Many countries have shown this including Rome,
Ancient Greece and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. The leaders and citizens of these
powerful nations all believed as if they were God among men and their country was the shining light
in a world full of darkness. As you know, they all eventually came to an end. No nation can last
forever, but it can leave a lasting impact on the world.
As we go through our lives, we learn by the experiences of ourselves and others. We might recall how
stupid and foolish our actions were and what we could have done better. Governing ... Show more

Somalia has neither law nor solid punishment system. Columbia has a weak centralized government
that fails to provide services that are considered essential .This does not look promising for people

discourage other companies for starting jobs, halting job and economic growth. Other economic
troubles include debt, which is destroying current Greece, and inflation, which is why people stopped
using Soviet money. Political struggle can destroy a country as well. The USSR fell when challenged
by NATO and the United States. Political struggle can also be internal. Civil war tore apart Sierra
Leone and is currently tearing apart Syria, Iran, and Iraq. Weak leadership has destroyed civilizations
from the beginning of time, for some odd reasons people thought being the son of a ruler makes them
qualified to rule.
It seems that when your country is on the brink of destruction, you would band together with your
political enemies. However, this doesn t seem to be the case for most empires. We can look to Rome
and Greece as examples of this. They were unable to unite and ultimately signed their own death
sentences. Again, it is impossible to say how current leaders would react and what decisions they
would make, but history tends to repeat

After accepting the calling, Wilkerson immediately put action to his faith and revealed to his
congregation and wife that he would be traveling to New York to reach out to these young gang
members. He instantaneously received support from both his wife and congregation. The fuel for his
first trip was promptly paid for by an offering held by the church that day. Shortly thereafter
Wilkerson, along with youth director Miles Hoover, traveled the 350 miles from the small country
town in Pennsylvania to the sprawling city of New York. Upon arrival at the New York courthouse,
Wilkerson and Hoover are denied visitation rights to visit the accused gang members in jail. Wilkerson
attempts to rush past the police to gain an audience with the judge assigned to the case, resulting in
both men being detained and barred from the courthouse. His attempted was photographed by the
press and appeared on the front page of multiple newspapers. Unknowingly, this action gained the

Patient Safety Is A Major Concern For All Health Care
Patient safety is a major concern for all health care providers. Two areas of safety that are relevant to
my practice in an outpatient surgical center are medication errors and the electronic error reporting.
The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) is the organization that was used to
support my project. The Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) Initiative competency that
was chosen for my indirect clinical project (ICP) was safety. Everyone in the health care environment
wants to be kept safe. A discussion on how medication errors and the electronic error reporting affects
everyone from the staff to the community will be discussed. Safety is an integral part of health care.
Considering the Joint Commission (2015) believes patient safety is so important that it has dedicated
and entire chapter on the subject and made it free to view. Throughout this paper safety related to
medication errors and electronic error reporting will be discussed. Along with the topic of medication
errors and electronic reporting will be two plans to reduce safety related events. Overall the paper will
cover medication errors and their prevention with how electronic error reporting can help prevent
frequent errors from occurring. It is our job as health care providers to prevent or abolish safety risks

Distracted Driving Argument Paper
Abstract
Advancing technology in wireless communications is presenting a growing concern for distracted
driving due to using cell phones and other electronic devices while driving. Although distracted
driving accidents and fatalities have risen in the last decade, placing a ban on the use of a cell phone or
other electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle as some states have will not resolve the issue.
In fact a ban on cell phones and driving may very well increase the accident and fatality rate because
drivers are now more involved with concealing their illegal behaviors. More citizen participation and
drivers safety management should be more carefully considered in a transpiring situation such as this.
More Americans should be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Visual distraction of this nature is anything that requires the driver to take his or her eyes away from
the road. Manual distraction involves the driver removing his or her hands from the steering wheel.
Cognitive distraction forces the driver to think about something other than driving safely (Goldfarb,
2010). These skills are critical when safely operating a motor vehicle that requires concentration,
coordination, and prompt, immediate responses to sensory input.
Studies conducted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the AAA
Foundation for Traffic Safety shows that using a cell phone while driving significantly impairs a
driver s reaction time and triples the risk of being involved in a crash or near crash, and text
messaging increases crash risk by a multiple of 8 for all ages (NHTSA, 2009). Situational awareness
is significantly decreased while engaging in distracted driving, and in turn inattention blindness is
increased drastically creating a potentially deadly situation on the roads. A driver who is multitasking
has less brain function available and thus literally fails to see or pay attention to things that are
squarely in the field of vision (Texting and Driving, 2010). On the other hand there are those that may
be able to multitask successfully though the challenge is

Summary Of Celia A Slave

Melton McLaurin s, Celia, A Slave (1991) Report
The federal and state policies
In the 19th century, the south part of the US exercised high levels of slavery, and this made even the
southern state laws and policies to be amended. However, the northern part was not in support of
slavery, and this made the federal laws and policies to have a great contradiction with the southern
states laws, for example, Missouri state laws. According to the book Celia, A Slave authored by
Melton McLaurin s which is a 1991 series, there were a lot of changes that were made on the law in
1819 (McLaurin, 1991). These rules had an enormous impact both positive and negative in the case of
Celia, the slave girl. In the states of Missouri in 1855 which is the same year that Celia killed her
master and burned his body in her fireplace, the state has passed a policy that it was illegal and a crime
for any man to take any woman unlawfully against her wish and will.
The law allowed women being taken by force by men to satisfy their sexual urges to act in self
defense even if the action of self defense resulted in the death of the man. It was also passed that it
was a criminal offence for any person to attack a person intentionally hence causing harm or even
death of the person (McLaurin, 1991). On the federal level, the constitution has abolished the slave
trade and stated that all people had equal rights and protection. Also, the federal and state policies had
been passed that murder or attempted murder was illegal and punishable by the law. These policies
and laws had been created and implemented to demolish slave trade and promote human rights. All
these policies that had been passed could affect Celia s trial but mainly in a contrary manner due to the
intentions and the manner the crime was committed.
The state law that favored Celia was the one claiming that it was wrong and legally unacceptable for a
man to take any woman by force and that the woman had the right to retaliate acting in self defense.
This is a law that could have been used to prove that the action Celia took was in self defense and that
she did not have prior motives for killing her

Jonathan Swift Rhetorical Analysis
In 1729 in Dublin, Ireland, preposterous yet devoted Jonathan Swift presents to the people of Ireland
and England an absurd plan that will achieve the ending of the Irish man s poverty, in doing so the
people of Ireland will have to make the ultimate sacrifice by choosing to feast upon a young healthy
child well nursed because they will certainly make a nourishing meal ; Jonathan s satire proposes the
idea of cannibalism to decrease the starvation, Swift hopes to bring awareness to the inequality the
Irish are facing by using appeals to logic, credibility, and emotion. First and foremost, Swift starts off
with an appeal to logic. Swift starts by criticising the kingdom for example I think it is agreed by all
parties, that this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Swift soon becomes a credible resource because Jonathan did the math and research to back up the
essay, Swift goes on to explain that I calculate there may be about two hundred thousand couple
whose wives are breeders. Jonathan Swift soon gets even more technical by calculating the amount of
wives there are from one million and a half people. With this information Jonathan Swift can quickly
pinpoint the amount of women who can give birth or as Swift describes it breed. Swift then moves
back into the same math equation to subtract thirty thousand couple, who are able to maintain their
own children...but this being granted, there will remain a hundred and seventy thousand breeders. This
example only proves that Swift is only offering statistical evidence to make the statement more
dependable. Another example of the text that might come into play that would be considered reliable
would be from the sensory imagery side of the text. For example A young healthy child well nursed,
is, at a year old, a most delicious nourishing and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or
boiled; and I make no doubt that it will equally serve in a fricasie, or

Mass Incarceration And Drug Criminalization
In recent decades, low income Americans have been facing the consequences of living in a country
whose criminal justice system is greatly influenced by skewed prosecution dynamics, and whose
structural discrepancies continue to encourage the mass incarceration phenomenon that affects
millions of individuals today. At rates higher than Russia and China, the U.S is incarcerating an entire
portion of its population based on irrelevant criteria such as affluence and race. The harsh reality that
both, poverty stricken individuals and prison inmates face today, indicate a dire need for systematic
change, and should encourage citizens to become informed members of society. As citizens have come
together, and government officials become involved, many reforms have been introduced and passed
which are conducive to a more restorative approach to justice.
Addressing every existent disparity in the criminal justice system is an extensive pursuit that limits the
exploration of pioneering reforms via overload of information rather than focusing on the systemic
approach that corresponds to one or two issues. I have chosen to focus on two major disparities that
are profoundly correlated: mass incarceration and drug criminalization. By exploring the history
behind each of them, and by exposing the constructs that seem to have taken the term justice out of
our law enforcement practices and policies, I aim to build a platform that will lead to the exploration
of current initiatives and reforms

During the 2016 presidential election, unauthorized immigration was at the center of the discussion
leading to the rise of a populist candidate, Donald J. Trump, who was eventually elected to the White
House by capitalizing on the fears and dissatisfaction of many Americans. It was the criminalization
of the problem with unauthorized immigration which hit a nerve with many Americans because of the
frustration with the problem, among other political issues. Many native born Americans do not have
complete knowledge and understanding of immigration laws and policies and the bureaucracy within
immigration agencies.
For that reason, an in depth analysis of Immigration Laws and Policies will be conducted in order to

current immigration laws in the U.S. have led to more than 11 million unauthorized immigrants in the
United States, the majority of which are from Latin American countries, with almost half of the 11
million unauthorized migrants coming from Mexico. This investigation will examine the current state

One of the many wonders of the internet is that it is possible to directly access and easily search the

Introduction to Masdar City
Masdar City, set out as an arcology project, a vision of architectural design principles and ecology,
that appears as science fiction due to it s main structure which minimizes individual human

Built in Abu Dhabi, in the UAE, this project was funded by the government of Abu Dhabi and
designed by the British architectural firm Foster and Partners. The city will also host the headquarters
of the International Renewable Energy Agency, and is designed to be the center of clean technology
companies.
Masdar city is structured uniquely, and designed to be friendly to pedestrians and cyclists. Although it

develops the way a person acts and feels. These variables come from learning, watching and

Machiavelli s The Prince
The Renaissance represented a new era in which values such as secularism and power became
prevalent in society. Machiavelli expresses the need for politics and religion to be separated
throughout his book The Prince . Previously rulers had been restricted by Christian principals, but
Machiavelli held the idea that rulers were warranted in any action so as long as it benefited the general
public. Machiavelli believed that politics existed outside the realm of religion and morals.
Subsequently, he approved of using any means necessary to gain and keep power, including lying,
stealing, and murder. During this time Italy s city states were in political chaos and condottieri roamed
the streets. Machiavelli thought it was the ruler s duty to maintain discipline and peace in society at
any cost. Despite his intentions to help Italy, Machiavelli s ideas were often seen as immoral and

How To Modernise Othello
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, and I hope you re as excited as I am to be here, to discuss with
you my new film pitch, a modern adaptation of one of Shakespeare s most loved classics, Othello.
Despite being written to pander to the lowest common demoniter in Elizabethan times, Shakespeare,
in our society, seems to be reserved for scholars and the well educated, with its use of language
lowering it s accessibilty and providing us with a barrier to enjoyment , making it relatively obsolete
in our times.
Modernising Othello provides an opportunity to transform the play into an understandable and

Entitled The Treachery of Images , the film makes reference to Magritte s infamous pipe painting,
reminding us that we should not necessarily believe in what we see and think, as deception lies in
every nook and cranny in our lives, meaning that nothing can truly be trusted. This is a modern and
novel nod to Othello, as the play itself is an adept exploration of the faces of good and evil, proving
the end point that nothing, and no one, are truly what they seem.
My vision re casts Othello as Oliver, a 20th century English Duke, who, despite his constant
questioning of the church and it s values, is appointed as mayor of a small village, leaving the
metropolitan haven of the city, and into a place where he is neither trusted nor accepted. With him
come his faithful and sweet wife, Dorothea, who married him against her heavily religious fathers
wishes, and his two sons, Ichabod and Charles. Whilst Oliver trusts, and supposedly favours, Ichabod,
Charles is far more successful than his brother, meaning he is named sole heir of the families wealth
and estate. For fair natured and trustworthy Ichabod, this would be a choice that he would support
wholly, however, a changling has taken his place, a curse put upon him by the God that he questions
so freely. Under the pretense of being Ichabod, the changeling begins to wreak havoc, coaxing Oliver
into pyschosis and convincing him that there is something Oedipal occuring between Charles and
Dorothea, and eventually causing Oliver to murder

be used as part of the SDLC? 3. Compare Figures 1 2 and 1 3. What similarities and differences do
you see? 4. Compare Figures 1 2 and 1 4. Can you match steps in Figure 1 4 with phases in Figure 1

Information systems can be analyzed in this circular motion. For example, if you have a system that is
fully developed and goes on the market, but does not really work as intended, you can go back to the
cycle, see what went wrong, fix the problem so it does not happen again, put the system back on the
market, and learn from it. 3. Figure 1 2 and figure 1 3 are similar because they both show how the
cycle should be followed when analyzing a system. Figure 1 2 is different from figure 1 3 because the
life cycle appears to be in order, but it is not. The specific steps and their sequence are meant to be
used for a project that is consistent with management approaches. 4. Figures 1 2 and 1 4 are similar in
fact that even figure 1 2 seems simpler than figure 1 4 they are actually still use in the same approach
and that when implementing the life cycle every company takes the same approach. In Figure 1 2,

A Study On Faith And The United States Of The Philippines
Faith Daniel is a forty six year old Chinese female resident of Montgomery, Texas. Faith was born in
the Philippines. However, she is profoundly influenced by her Chinese ancestry. Faith has three
sisters. Faith has a teaching degree and has taught in the private school sector. She can speak English,
Mandarin, French, and knows sign language. Her ancestors moved from China to the Philippines due
to a World War. Male children are valued more in the Chinese culture than females because males
carry on the family name. Therefore, when Faith s mother was pregnant with her fourth female child
she was offered to trade her child with a cousin s male child. Faith s parents refused to give up their
daughter. The refusal to trade for a male baby was a significant disgrace for the family. Consequently,
her father moved his family to the United States of America where her mother instilled the importance
of education in each of her daughters. She considers her father s decision to move the family to the
United States of America as a significant event that shaped her life. She feels that she and her sisters
are much more educated than cousins that eventually moved to the country later in their lives. Faith
possesses a fascinating set of life experiences along with an intriguing Chinese culture that has
influenced her character. Faith s favorite childhood memories include Christmas time with her family.
The children in the family created and performed skits of Bible

  • 2. Letter Response To Executive Order 9056 Dwight Okita There are three tools used in both the letter and the short story to reinforce the common theme between both pieces: to explain what it means to be truly American. The letter Response to Executive Order 9066 by Dwight Okita tells a girl s thoughts and opinions to show the theme. Through the narration, the character s reference to her messy room makes it seem as though she is a average American girl. The internal thoughts of this character are used a number of times to paint a picture of her views of herself, including in this quote about chopsticks and hot dogs: I have always felt funny using chopsticks and my favorite food is hot dogs. (Okita, par 7) Which reveals that something that is part of her ancestors is something she s not used ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Evaluation Of A Research Project 6.1 Introduction and overview This section describes the methodology used for the research. It considers first the philosophical position agreed for the research, then the methodology involved in the research. In this case, the research was made up of a focus group, using a sample of young people and adults with LDD and a small number of parents and carers who completed questionnaires. The methods of data analysis were then documented, and the final section reflects on issues of validity and reliability. 6.2 Philosophical position It is understood that all research is centred on the researchers motivating philosophical assumptions. Smith and Wood s opinions are that worldviews and philosophical positions are the basis for making ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, these worldviews and philosophical assumptions are what researchers have endorsed to carry out their research along with their chosen methodologies for the expansion of gathering new knowledge in a given study (Frels and Onwuegbuzie, 2016). Therefore, to conduct and evaluate any research, it is important for that reason to know what these assumptions are. 6.3 Epistemology foundationalism It is explained that Epistemology is a term that describes the nature of knowledge and the means of knowing; how we know what we know or what we conceive as a truth (Kuada, 2012, p.59) and the way knowledge is created and constructed or revealed and fixed (Wisker, 2011). Epistemology also provides a philosophical background for deciding what kinds of knowledge are legitimate and adequate, which helps with the most novice of researchers who quickly select a data gathering method as they are keen to get on with the job (Gray, 2011). Positivism is seen as being concerned with gathering facts about a reality that is seen as real (Silverman, 2006) in order to explain human behaviour (Bryman and Bell, 2011). In opposition to this is interpretivism that seeks to understand human behaviour (Maylor and Blackman, 2005), whilst constructionism holds the belief that as reality is socially constructed and subjective there are multiple realities, Berger and Luckman ... • 5. Persuasive Essay On Climate Crisis As advances in technology and medicine lead to longer lifespans and lowered mortality from disease, some people worry about overpopulating the earth. These people also argue that aid work will fuel the population growth and demolish one of the only forms of population control. Melinda Gates explains that as people work to provide more education and contraceptives to women in third world countries, the birth rate will naturally decrease, especially as they worry less about having a child survive into adulthood (Rosen). Currently there is enough to sustain the population and its growth in the years to come; presently the issue is not the number of people, but rather, the distribution and effective use of resources. The World Economic Forum s Global Shaper Survey shows that most millennials agree that climate change is the most urgent issue and that they can do something to fix it (Jackson). Bill Gates has mentioned the possibility of a new charity dedicated to solving the climate change issue because he views it as the most imminent threat to the survival and advancement of humanity. An article on The Guardian even mentions that The foundation s annual letter for 2015 says their achievements could be undone by the advancing climate crisis. (Mathiesen). • 6. Song Analysis Of Concrete Angel The song I chose is a song sung by Martina McBride, a country singer, called Concrete Angel. The song was written by Rob Crosby and Stephanie Bentley, later released on November 18, 2002. The song is about a young girl, Angela Carter, who doesn t have the most stable and safest home. At home she is domestically abused by her drugged mother, neglected and forced to take care of herself; she packs her own school lunch, walks to school by herself, and is wearing the same dress showing her mom does not care to give her new clothes. When watching the music video, in the beginning children are laughing at her, which shows she is bullied, another main theme tackled in the song. Norms today when it comes to a child is expected of the parent to love, take care, and provide for them, not to beat them. This was not the case at all in Concrete Angel, for her mother constantly beat her, never showed any love towards her or took care of her. [Bailliard, OJRD] Fallot s contributions gave way to significant advances in understanding the defects and how this disrupted the correct blood flow throughout the body. Fallot is responsible for discovering that while, usually only one of the defects occurs, rarely, the cyanotic patient will present with two or more, then most common of the four defects being the deviated septum and the pulmonary artery stenosis. When a ventricular septum defect occurs, a mixing of oxygen rich and oxygen poor blood takes place. A ventricular septum defect is a hole in the septum, or the wall between the left and right chambers of the heart. This hole happens to be in between the lower two chambers, or ventricles. The left ventricle receives oxygen rich blood from the lungs, while the right ventricle houses the oxygen poor blood from the body. The purpose of the separation by the septum is to prevent a mixture of the blood. Therefore, as long as there is a defect preventing the separation, the heart will continue to pump a mixture of the blood to the rest of the body. This causes the cells of the body to not receive all of the required oxygen that it would normally obtain with a fully intact septum, thus causing the cyanotic, or blue, appearance of the patient. Liturgy of Saint Denis and Companions Part 1 Liturgy of Saint Denis and Companions October 9 is the celebration day of the feast of St. Denis and his companions, Rusticus the priest and Eleutherius the deacon, who were both martyred alongside and buried with him. Veneration of St. Denis and his companions began shortly after his death and added to the Roman calendar in 1568 by Pius V, even though it had already been celebrated regularly since about the year 800 AD. In traditional Catholic practice, Denis is invoked against diabolical possession and issues of head pain, the obvious allusion to his beheading. (St. Denis and Companions, 2012). In the Middle Ages many wore bright colors, some encrusted with jewels during the Feast of St. Denis, particularly in those cathedrals named after him. This was to signify the movement into a world of light and comfort based on suffering on earth (Levy, ed., p. 354). Feasts of the saints arose from the early Christian customs of both commemorating their death and their rebirth into heaven. The readings for the feast of St. Denis include material from Paul s second letter to the Corinthians (6: 4 10) in which Paul emphasizes that humans are servants of God in all ways. Though some people would look at music as a step forward in the progression of humanity, it is known to be a much stronger force; and for some, it really defines their existence. Music is definitely a driving force in society: it has been in existence since the beginning of human race. The average human spends many hours a day listening to music, whether it s taken as a main interest or just as something to satisfy us for the day. Music has and certainly had a great effect on how we think and act, for all one knows, affecting our intelligence. Music served a very functional role in the Revolutionary War. Songs were written and sang for different reasons. Mainly, they were used to help make people thrilled, emotional, make fun of the enemy, forget the terrible realities of war. During the American Civil War, music played a distinguished role on both sides of the conflict: the Union and the Confederate. At the time, on the battlefield, a variety of instruments were being played to issue and lead marching orders and even, at times, to simply boost the Sarkisyan 2 morale of a soldier. Music was a major diversion from the slaughtering and killing going on, helping the soldiers deal with their homesickness and boredom. WWI had a major impact, not only on Europe, but on the world. The music during the time is also chaotic for the most part, like the war ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Do Nations Truly Last Do Nations Truly Last Do nations last forever? As Noah Feldman put it, Empires inevitably fall, and when they do, history judges them for the legacies they leave behind. Many countries have shown this including Rome, Ancient Greece and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. The leaders and citizens of these powerful nations all believed as if they were God among men and their country was the shining light in a world full of darkness. As you know, they all eventually came to an end. No nation can last forever, but it can leave a lasting impact on the world. As we go through our lives, we learn by the experiences of ourselves and others. We might recall how stupid and foolish our actions were and what we could have done better. Governing ... It seems that when your country is on the brink of destruction, you would band together with your political enemies. However, this doesn t seem to be the case for most empires. Shortly thereafter Wilkerson, along with youth director Miles Hoover, traveled the 350 miles from the small country town in Pennsylvania to the sprawling city of New York. Upon arrival at the New York courthouse, Wilkerson and Hoover are denied visitation rights to visit the accused gang members in jail. Distracted Driving Argument Paper Abstract Advancing technology in wireless communications is presenting a growing concern for distracted driving due to using cell phones and other electronic devices while driving. Although distracted driving accidents and fatalities have risen in the last decade, placing a ban on the use of a cell phone or other electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle as some states have will not resolve the issue. In fact a ban on cell phones and driving may very well increase the accident and fatality rate because drivers are now more involved with concealing their illegal behaviors. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Visual distraction of this nature is anything that requires the driver to take his or her eyes away from the road. Manual distraction involves the driver removing his or her hands from the steering wheel. Cognitive distraction forces the driver to think about something other than driving safely (Goldfarb, 2010). These skills are critical when safely operating a motor vehicle that requires concentration, coordination, and prompt, immediate responses to sensory input. Studies conducted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety shows that using a cell phone while driving significantly impairs a driver s reaction time and triples the risk of being involved in a crash or near crash, and text messaging increases crash risk by a multiple of 8 for all ages (NHTSA, 2009). Situational awareness is significantly decreased while engaging in distracted driving, and in turn inattention blindness is increased drastically creating a potentially deadly situation on the roads. A driver who is multitasking has less brain function available and thus literally fails to see or pay attention to things that are squarely in the field of vision (Texting and Driving, 2010). • 29. Summary Of Celia A Slave Melton McLaurin s, Celia, A Slave (1991) Report Name Institute Melton McLaurin s, Celia, A Slave (1991) Report The federal and state policies In the 19th century, the south part of the US exercised high levels of slavery, and this made even the southern state laws and policies to be amended. However, the northern part was not in support of slavery, and this made the federal laws and policies to have a great contradiction with the southern states laws, for example, Missouri state laws. According to the book Celia, A Slave authored by Melton McLaurin s which is a 1991 series, there were a lot of changes that were made on the law in 1819 (McLaurin, 1991). These rules had an enormous impact both positive and negative in the case of Celia, the slave girl. In the states of Missouri in 1855 which is the same year that Celia killed her master and burned his body in her fireplace, the state has passed a policy that it was illegal and a crime for any man to take any woman unlawfully against her wish and will. The law allowed women being taken by force by men to satisfy their sexual urges to act in self defense even if the action of self defense resulted in the death of the man. It was also passed that it was a criminal offence for any person to attack a person intentionally hence causing harm or even death of the person (McLaurin, 1991). On the federal level, the constitution has abolished the slave trade and stated that all people had equal rights and protection. Also, the federal and state policies had been passed that murder or attempted murder was illegal and punishable by the law. These policies and laws had been created and implemented to demolish slave trade and promote human rights. All these policies that had been passed could affect Celia s trial but mainly in a contrary manner due to the intentions and the manner the crime was committed. The state law that favored Celia was the one claiming that it was wrong and legally unacceptable for a man to take any woman by force and that the woman had the right to retaliate acting in self defense. This is a law that could have been used to prove that the action Celia took was in self defense and that she did not have prior motives for killing her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With this information Jonathan Swift can quickly pinpoint the amount of women who can give birth or as Swift describes it breed. Mass Incarceration And Drug Criminalization In recent decades, low income Americans have been facing the consequences of living in a country whose criminal justice system is greatly influenced by skewed prosecution dynamics, and whose structural discrepancies continue to encourage the mass incarceration phenomenon that affects millions of individuals today. At rates higher than Russia and China, the U.S is incarcerating an entire portion of its population based on irrelevant criteria such as affluence and race. The harsh reality that both, poverty stricken individuals and prison inmates face today, indicate a dire need for systematic change, and should encourage citizens to become informed members of society. As citizens have come together, and government officials become involved, many reforms have been introduced and passed which are conducive to a more restorative approach to justice. Addressing every existent disparity in the criminal justice system is an extensive pursuit that limits the exploration of pioneering reforms via overload of information rather than focusing on the systemic approach that corresponds to one or two issues. I have chosen to focus on two major disparities that are profoundly correlated: mass incarceration and drug criminalization. By exploring the history behind each of them, and by exposing the constructs that seem to have taken the term justice out of our law enforcement practices and policies, I aim to build a platform that will lead to the exploration of current initiatives and reforms ... Entitled The Treachery of Images , the film makes reference to Magritte s infamous pipe painting, reminding us that we should not necessarily believe in what we see and think, as deception lies in every nook and cranny in our lives, meaning that nothing can truly be trusted. This is a modern and novel nod to Othello, as the play itself is an adept exploration of the faces of good and evil, proving the end point that nothing, and no one, are truly what they seem. My vision re casts Othello as Oliver, a 20th century English Duke, who, despite his constant questioning of the church and it s values, is appointed as mayor of a small village, leaving the metropolitan haven of the city, and into a place where he is neither trusted nor accepted. With him come his faithful and sweet wife, Dorothea, who married him against her heavily religious fathers wishes, and his two sons, Ichabod and Charles. Whilst Oliver trusts, and supposedly favours, Ichabod, Charles is far more successful than his brother, meaning he is named sole heir of the families wealth and estate. For fair natured and trustworthy Ichabod, this would be a choice that he would support wholly, however, a changling has taken his place, a curse put upon him by the God that he questions so freely.
