Annual plan:
first important step in planning
at the beginning of the academic year.
Year planning doesn’t mean to decide what is to be taught each
month.
The teacher should think of the units and subunits according to the
periods available and expected objectives.
Annual plan:
 The Annual plan is an outline of the teaching of a subject during the
entire academic year
For preparing this outline various factors are considered
Period available for teaching
the precise content for teaching
Aspects-why aspect
i. e, objectives of teaching learning process
 The Annual plan is the the plan of teaching which is done in the
beginning of the year which includes
Units enlisted in syllabus
Periods during the year for teaching
Evaluation procedure
While preparing Year plan the following points should be considered:
 prepared, discussed & finalized by subject teachers
 include what, why & how aspects
 flexible.
 treated as guide
 year planning is not an end itself.
ASPECTS OF THE ANNUAL PLAN :
 1.Formation of syllabus unit:
reorganize the contents of syllabus into suitable units.
 2.Reorganization of units:
according difficulty levels & maxims
 3.Time available for teaching :
non-availability of periods due to holidays, festivals…
 4. Unit wise distribution of available periods:
distribute the available periods among the units.
consider weight age of- units,
learning experiences -unit.
 5.Periods for evaluation:
IMPORTANCE OF ANNUAL PLAN:
 scope of the subject
Teaching-learning can be complete in time
(since teachers knows the periods teaching & evaluation
 idea of the periods for co-curricular & extra-curricular activities.
 Sufficient time is available for initial preparations
 proper speed.
 clarifies the objectives of teaching, learning.
