 Staff is suggesting 2nd Annual 5K Fun
Run to be held on Saturday, April 21,
2018 to coincide with 2018 Fiesta
Kickoff.
 Would like to continue to have this event on
the first weekend of Fiesta
 Last year it was held in May with over 175
individual registrants

 Contracting with Soler’s Sports to
help in registration, coordination and
publicity through their social media
and website
 Route will be the same as last year
 Limiting participants to 300

 Cost
 $25 per individual
 $100 for a team of 5 - $20 per participant
for team over 5
 Offering participants to purchase the City’s
2018 Fiesta Medal for an additional $5 – 1
medal per participant
 Discounts available by posting participation
on Facebook and/or referrals via email link

 A timed race – each runner will receive a
bib with chip timer
 Participant will receive a goodie bag
(drawstring backpack) with a 5K T-shirt,
coupons from local vendors, and healthy
snacks
 Event will be geared towards family
participation
 Moon bounce and kids activity stations
 Food Trucks
 Water and healthy snacks provided for all

 Staff will coordinate and organize the
event to include:
 Race Route
 Registrations
 Donations
 Advertisement
 T-shirt design and sales
 Set up, break down & cleanup of route
 Coordinate functions with Police & Volunteers
 Miscellaneous supplies

 Fiscal impact will be offset by the number &
amount of donations received as well as
registration fees. Approximate costs may be
$4,700 barring any donations. Expenses
include but are not limited to:
 T-shirt logo, flyers, street banner
 Approximately 4 police officers

 7 Volunteers to direct runners
 4 Police Officers to assist with
traffic

 Signs will be placed in right-of-
