Justin was akin to a father to Justinian, he gave him salvation where he struggled and practically reinvigorated his
will to learn and do well in the world. While Justin enabled Justinian to learn and become an amazing man, he also
attempted to find his way into the seat of the throne while the rule was weak. Justin had very obviously failed
seeing as he was NOT fit to be a ruler, he was not an intelligent man after all. Justinian witnessed his uncle s failure
and was able to learn from the experience and, using his position as the King s bodyguard (Citation), intelligence
and military experience, weaseled his way into the throne, and into the position of King. As the King, Justinian was
powerful. He held a large blade over all others that opposed him and was the largest factor as to why many of his
people had been in fear. At any moment he could have crumpled under the pressure of all the power he held in the
palm of his hand, and he had, multiple times. To easily and very simply accentuate his power, he would force those
who approached him to bow down on their hands and feet (Lindquist 318). Even one of his closest acquaintances,
Procopius, had described him as insincere, crafty, hypocritical, double dealing, clever, and a perfect artist in acting
out his opinion (Macmillan Profiles 234). Many also described him as being an absolute Monarch and as the
Anointed of the Lord (Lindquist 317). Despite all of this, he had also been described as abstemious,

Research on How to Market a New Product
Marketing Research The topic for this study would be marketing. I would carry out a research on how to market a
new product in the industry. This research will bring together a worldview, strategies, and methods of research. 1.
Worldviews 1.1 Epistemology vs ontology Epistemology is a consideration of what constitutes reality while
ontology is the science or study of being (Blaikie 1993). This research adopts constructionism as its epistemology
perspective because it is very consistent with the research nature in terms of its aims and objectives. This is because
in constructivism, this research did not describe the facts just as they actually are as in objectivity nor did it create
something new as it is consistent with subjectivity (Crotty, 2007). This research was thus built from a serious
review and analysis of all the available literature on marketing of new brands and entry into the market by many
scholars. Baike, (1993) describes epistemology as the theory or science of the methods or grounds of knowledge of
reality, the manner in which what exists can be known . In this research we try to understand the position of my
stand in respect to the theories drawn. 1.2 Positivism vs Interpretivism There is a philosophical position in relation
to the purpose and place of research in general. On the basis of positivism researchers take a scientific perspective
when observing social behavior, with an objective analysis possible (Travers, 2001). It is important to note that

Legislation and codes of practice
The code of practice for teaching further education, within the lifelong sector is regulated by the Institute for

Ongoing assessments and evaluations, tutorials, positive feedback and assessing learning styles will ensure the
learner s needs continue to be met (Petty: 2009 amp; Grimsby Institute: 2012). The humanistic school of learning is
based on meeting learners needs and has demonstrated to be influential in adult learning (Petty: 2009). The tutor
should also ensure that resources are available, and that a variety of learning methods are utilised to include
everyone.
Figure 3: Maslow s hierarchy of needs (Petty: 2009)
Boundaries between the teaching role and other professional roles
Boundaries may arise if a student has a disability that a teacher is not equipped to handle. An example may occur if
a student requires help with visual or audio aids. If the tutor is not a first aider, and an incident occurs, the student
will need to be referred to a first aider. A tutor is responsible for reporting possible safeguarding issues to a
designated person within the organisation. Social problems may require the learner to seek help from qualified
professionals, such as counsellors or financial advisors (Gravell: 2008).
Review points of referral to meet the learners needs
A tutor may notice a student is struggling with the course material, and may suspect a learning difficulty or social
problem.

The Rhetorical Analysis Of Best In Class
For almost two centuries, the system of public education has honored the best and the brightest high school
graduates with the honorable titles of valedictorian and salutatorian.Though these titles have been a valued part of
graduation for what seem like the entire history of American public schooling, they are under heavy scrutiny as
impassioned and angry parents, as well as their hardworking students, attack the idea of only recognizing one or
two of the class s most talented seniors. In Best in Class , reporter Margaret Talbot challenges the traditional system
of choosing a single valedictorian by by exposing the emotional opposition to the system s change or preservation;
her use of emotional dialogue as well as far less emotional, far more objective writing style allows Talbot to
emphasize specific ideas and opinions with syntax to avoid confrontation, while simultaneously establishing that it
is time for the traditional system of valedictory to change. One key rhetorical pattern that allows Talbot extensive
control over how the audience views her topic is diverse syntax. Via mostly cumulative sentences, Talbot is able to
clearly emphasize a specific idea about the subject while remaining neutral. For example, she explains that Saratosa
is a competitive school district while visiting the area, I saw a car with a bumper sticker that read, My Child Was
Student of The Month at Tuttle Elementary but most of the high schools have taken Kennedy s lead (224).

The Structure Of The Hip Joint
The hip joint is involved in movement and support of the body. Describe how the structure of the tissues associated
with the joint enable it to function effectively.
Analysing the structure of the hip joint will discover the importance of the joint and the way it helps to support,
stabilise, strengthen and create movement. Areas that will be explored are the skeletal system, different types of
joints and all the tissues involved at the hip joint.
The skeletal system has five main functions which consist of support, movement, protection of organs, blood cell
production and mineral release and storage. The skeletal system is made up of two parts, the Axial skeleton and the
Appendicular skeleton. The Axial skeleton includes of the skull, spine and ribcage. The Appendicular is made up of
the arms, legs, pelvic girdle and pectoral girdle. The human skeleton is composed of bones and joints. A joint is
where two bones meet to enable movement. Hinge, pivot, gliding, saddle, ellipsoid and the ball and socket are all
different types of joints which can be found in the human body.
Joints are classified by their structure; the hip joint is classified as a synovial joint. As shown in image 1 the
synovial joint has a joint cavity which lies between the two bones. This contains the synovial fluid that lubricates
the joint. The fluid is produced by the membrane which lines the cartilage called the synovial membrane. In certain
joints small sack structures called bursas hold the synovial

Pluto Research Papers
Made up of all the planets that orbit the sun, the Solar System has over 100 worlds. In addition to eight planets
without Pluto and nine with Pluto, the Solar System also consist of gas, dust, minor planets, asteroids, and moons.
Containing 98% of all the materials in the Solar System, the sun is an extremely important object in the Solar
System. Everything in the Solar System orbits or revolves around the sun. The larger an object is in space the more
gravity it has and that why the enormous sun contains 98% of all the materials in the Solar System. The Solar
System basically is just the planets moving rapidly and trying to fly away from the sun. They end up in in the

Although all nine planets are a huge part of the solar system there s a lot more to the solar system than the nine
planets. According to scientist the Solar System started out as an enormous cloud of gas and dust. Scientist believe
that the cloud of dust and gas began to collapse under the weight of its own gravity and it did. The matter that was
kept within itself began moving in a giant circle and at the center of the spinning cloud a tiny star began to form.
The star eventually grew larger and collected more dust and gas that collapsed into it. Farther from the center of the
mass that was being formed there was many smaller clumps of dust and gas that were also collapsing. The large
cloud in the center eventually became the sun while the smaller clumps formed the planets, moons, comets and,

My Most Important Day Essay
Honestly if I were to think of my most important day, not even one would come to mind, because when your put on
the spot to think of one it s hard. Although, there is one day that out of all is clear as daylight in my head, down to
every second. I think this is due to the day being different than all the other days. In my life, I experienced
something I thought I never would. My most important day of my life is when I finally met my older cousin Akash,
while we were on our vacation on the cruise.
I always knew my cousin Akash, but we had never truly spoke nor bonded. He d always do his own thing, and I
guess you could say I looked up to him due to the type of person he was. I d really only see him at family parties
due to us not being first cousins, but suddenly he stopped coming to them. It didn t matter if it was a family get
together, birthday, Christmas, or anything else, he would never show up. This made it impossible for me to ever see
him. However, then I found out that he d be coming with us on the cruise. To be honest, at first I didn t care much
because I thought he wouldn t associate with me much, but I was entirely wrong.
It was the third day on the cruise and my cousin had been previously with the uncles the first two days. He knocked
on my room door with me and my other cousin Dave inside. I answered, and right away he asked the both of us Yo
what do you guys want to do? At first I was shocked that he was here, but instead of acting confused I decided to go

Social Location Essay
Social location is the central ideal of a person. It is . . . is where all aspects of one s identity meet (kirk Okazawa,
15). It determines a person s social standing and self definition. It is a powerful tool in defining one s identity and
without it, an identity would not be the same thing. It affects one s view of reality and how the person may interpret
the world. With a social location of a caucasion, upper middle class, woman from the Midwest I have much
leverage in society, this leverage allows me a lot of leeway and influence. As a white, upper middle class, woman, I
politically have a lot of power. My vote is constantly being vied over by both republicans and democrats. Since my
families wealth lends us to the republican views, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I grew up in a community very homogenious and it is hard to understand that people s experiences effect their
understandings and alter our expectations. The idea of having a similar exterior equating to a similar background is
detrimental and creates a lot of distance between social locations because it perpetuates stereotyping and
essentialism. If you rely on looks and other identifying factors you will miss much of the person, as people are
always more than just one thing they identify, or have been identified as. Misunderstanding creates distance
because it leads people to retreat back into their own communities that they recognize and know and perpetuates
stereotypes of identities. I think it is possible to diminish these distances by creating diaglogue between groups of
people who identify differently than eachother. Much can be said for facilitating discussion amongst people of
different backgrounds. It can aid in helping people gain a deeper understanding of one another and it allows a free
exchange of emotions and ideas that in the end bridge the gap between communities. I know when I am exposed to
new things or communities it is a learning process that requires of me to be understanding and open minded, but it
has always helped to bridge that gap of otherness and helps me think in different more collective ideas about

Dealing with Homelessness in Australia Essay examples
Homelessness is all our responsibility. Waking every morning in a warm bed in a secure house for some Australians
is only a dream. Every day more and more people are becoming or are at risk of becoming homeless as the global
economy crumbles away and monetary resources become harder to find. What is homelessness: the Australian
Government Department of Health (2005) defines homelessness as a person who is without a conventional home.
Homeless Australians have become disconnected from family and friend and has few, if any resource and very little
prospect of achieving financial independence without Government assistant. This assessment will talk about

The 1950 s conservative family era still maintained the patriarchic view that men control the power and women
subordinate and where under the control of societies view. The feminist movement of the 1960 s bought about the
biggest change with both homelessness and social awareness. Women of the 1960 s and 70 s now were demanding
equality education, freedom of abuse and the right to earn their own money(Schindeler, 2010). The new face of
homelessness became that of women and children escaping domestic violence and the family home due to the
empowerment of feminism (Lwin 2011, unpub.). The Labor Government was elected in 1972 and Gough Whitlam s
Government drew on the International Agreement Programs on Human Rights to model a new Australia Social
policy (Lwin 2011, unpub.). With the outcry of society the Australian Government in 1973 introduced the
Supporting Mothers Benefits (Australian Bureau of Statics [ABS] 2009) to help remove mothers and children from

Women During The Kenyan Emergency Of The 1950 s
In order to explain the significance of women during the Kenyan Emergency of the 1950 s, Millicent Whitemore
composed a powerful argument that highlighted the importance that women played in the Mau Mau Movement
against the British colonial government. By contrasting the traditional views of women with the critical roles they
played during the conflict, Whitemore showed just how incredibly important women were in the Movement. With
the use of an abundance of sources and firsthand accounts, Whitemore created not only a credible and valid
argument, but also a more convincing and persuading one as well. As such, the author has developed and formed an
effective argument highlighting the importance of women during the Mau Mau movement with the strong

Romeo And Juliet Analysis
Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his career about two young star crossed
lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. Arguably one of his most recognisable plays, it has
been performed and adapted thousands of times into films, theatre, and music, and continues to have a major impact
on society today. As the play gets older, it is still being performed to modern audiences but is this play gradually
becoming aged and irrelevant to the modern audience? Will it need translation into contemporary English to remain
relevant? Through the theme of fate and exploring the work of the modernised film of Baz Luhrmann, we can
conclude whether the traditional Romeo and Juliet will need a translation into modern English. Baz Luhrmann is
the director of the modernised film Romeo and Juliet written by Shakespeare in the 1700s. Baz Luhrmann s film
interpretation of Romeo and Juliet, uses the same old English that Shakespeare s text is written in, his first scene
could not be more different than the traditional opening to Romeo and Juliet. The Baz Luhrmann Version of
Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet has a different setting compared to that of the play. The director had decided to
modernise the whole play. By modernising the play, changes to the weapons they used, their method of
transportation and their homes, were made. Instead of using swords in the play, they used guns in the movie.
Instead of walking, they travelled by car and

Summary Of The Windhover By Gerard Manley Hopkins
The Windhover Explication Gerard Manley Hopkins, The Windhover, has been described as one of the most
challenging poems to explicate, so with my limited knowledge I will attempt to do this correctly and disagree with
professors who have studied this poem far longer than I have. The breaking of the word kingdom between line 1
and 2 is meaningful. The falcon is described as both morning s minion and king. If the break were after dom there
would have been less exaltation of the falcon, which Hopkins sets up by using the dynamic verb caught, which
implies spontaneity, joy, and delight, instead of a more mundane verb like view or note. The division of the word
kingdom also allows for two simultaneous interpretations of the first two lines. The first interpretation being that
the falcon is the kingdom, and the other being that the falcon is the dauphin of the dom(e) of daylight (Rudanko
176). For the sequence dapple dawn drawn sequence Rudanko proposes 4 possible ways of interpretation based on
previous literary analysis and his own which are as follows: (1) The falcon is attracted by the dappled dawn. (2)
The falcon is sketched against the dappled dawn. (3) The dappled falcon is attracted by the dawn. (4) The dappled
falcon is sketched in silhouette against the dawn (Rudanko 176). However, immediately following this sequence the
falcon is described as riding therefore it is not plausible that 2 or 4 are accurate interpretations of the sequence
given that the dappling of the bird would be imperceptible if he were to be silhouetted and that if the dawn is
dappled there would be enough light in the rest of the sky to illuminate the bird enough for it to not just appear as a
silhouette. The only question left to answer is then, is the sky dappled or is the bird? When the poem is read aloud,
as Hopkins intended with his works, the most natural way of hearing it is that the dawn is dappled. Hopkins has
also described the sky as being dappled in other poems such as Pied Beauty, leading to the conclusion that option 1
is the way in which the sequence should be read, that the falcon is attracted by the dappled dawn. There is much
less ambiguity over the line, Of the rolling level underneath him steady air,

Colombian Culture VS American culture
Culture can be seen from the interaction of many things such as history, activities and developments. It is also
represented in the form of people live. Living in two different countries is a unique experience that gives you a new
way of thinking. In my case I have lived in Colombia and now in the United States. Despite bearing some minor
similarities, the differences between this to countries are notable in geography, festivities, economic and food.
Colombia is located in South America, is divided into five regions: Andina, Pacifica, Caribe, Amazonica and
Orinoquia. It has thirty two states. Colombia is bordered to the north by Panama, to the east by Venezuela and
Brazil, south to Peru and Ecuador, and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. Colombia is the only South American
country with coastlines on the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, which has several islands as the Archipelago of
San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina. Colombia has the largest number of species per unit area in the world,
total is the second most diverse country in the world after Brazil. United Sates is located in North America where its
48 states and Washington DC, the capital district. Between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, bordered by Canada to
the north and Mexico to the south. The state of Alaska is in the northwest of the continent, with Canada to the east.

Numbers In Norse Mythology
Numbers have had a fascinating presence throughout history. There is evidence of the use of numbers dating back
at least twenty thousand years, such as the discovery of the Ishango bone. The Chinese, Mayans, Romans,
Babylonians, and Greeks all had numbering systems. They were all unique and they have all played a role in the use
of Numbers in their everyday lives. Numbers have also played a significant role in magic and divination. The I
Ching system from the Chinese, the tarot, and numerology are all some very popular forms. A Greek philosopher
named Pythagoras is credited for modern day numerology. Arithmancy is another form of divination based on
assigning numbers to a word or phrase. This can be seen in the Hebrew Kabbalah.

Yggdrasil (the tree of life) is in the midst of these nine worlds. These are just a few of the ways the number nine is
significant in Norse mythology. The number nine is in the Christian Bible. According to bible, number 9 has got a

Thomas More s Utopia And Friedrich Engels Condition
Thomas More s Utopia and Friedrich Engels Condition of the Working Class in England as two books provide
extensive detail as well as insight on how societies and economies functioned earlier on throughout times. These
books provide us with ideas that are still functionally applicable when we look to critique our current society and
world economic system. They bring to attention what factors are paramount in the corruption and provide solutions
that could aim to prevent or alter these societal ills. One of the first critique found in Utopia relates to ongoing theft
and the misuse of their punishment system. For this manner of punishing thieves goes beyond justice, and brings no

This should not be in place as a preventive measure because it doesn t stop the actual problem, it just deals with the

issue that More also focused on dealt with the issues that came along an individual s own vanity, and how it shields
themselves from doing what s beneficial for the common good. When authoritative figures are negligent towards
the importance of a country (means of national spending or labour of others to achieve personal short term goals) it

Developmental Psychology Of Harry Potter
Developmental Psychology of Harry Potter Harry Potter is a fictional character invented by J.K Rowling in the
series of seven books starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone and ending with Harry Potter and the
Deathly Hallows (Wikipedia, 2015). Harry is the main character in this series whose parents died when he was
young and he was brought up by his aunt and uncle (Philosopher s Stone, 1997, p.5). Harry was neglected by his
aunt and uncle (Philosopher s Stone, 1997, p.27). Harry is presented a whole new reality when he goes to the zoo
one day and his integration into the magical world changes him from the foundation. These changes within him will
be analysed using the developmental psychology theories of Lawrence Kohlberg and Erik Erikson to explain how
the environment aided or obstructed Harry s development. Using Kohlberg s moral development theory, one can
judge how Harry s moral reasoning develops as he aged. Harry was in first stage of moral reasoning when he lived
with his aunt and uncle as he was unable to judge good from bad demonstrated through Harry compliance his uncle
s rules. On Dudley s birthday, Harry s uncle warned him not to misbehave in public and Harry had to obey his uncle
s command or risk being punished as demonstrated by the following quote. Harry didn t know what time it was and
he couldn t be sure the Dursleys were asleep yet. Until they were, he couldn t risk sneaking to the kitchen for some

What Is The Mood Of The Count Of Monte Cristo
Just like every great story The Count of Monte Cristo has its own particular and mesmerizing settings. Alexandre
Dumas not only amazes us with breathtaking and exotic places but he also takes us to the darkest and goriest
corners that you could ever imagine, places that could even alter the emotional state of the strongest man. This
novel begins at a French seaside town called Marseilles, Edmond s hometown and home for all his loved ones and
all his enemies. The Chateau d If is a prison completely surrounded by water which is really conventional since it
makes it impossible for the prisoners to escape from it. This is the place where our main character spent fourteen
years of his life incarcerated and where he met old Abbe Faria. Then, we have The Island of Monte Cristo, despite
being a fictional setting, this place is one of the most important ones in the whole book. This is the place where our
dear Edmond finds Abbe Faria s treasure and where he builds up his mini castle and becomes what we now will

This piece was created during the crusades and demonstrates an important message to those who would either go on
the crusades or were contemplating converting to Christianity. The legend of the seven sleepers demonstrates a
protection from the lord for those who want to convert but are afraid of persecution. In the legend those who
converted were noblemen which give an example to the common people as if to say that being Christian is indeed
fashionable and done by the top of the hierarchy as well as the bottom. The second piece is a stained glass portrayal
of a prophet. The piece is called Prophet. Created ca. 1390 1400, the context of the piece is unknown but at the time
it was typical to see prophets in architectural settings. It is colorless glass with silver stain and vitreous gold paint.
Created after the Valois branch took over the Capetian dynasty in 1328, this piece is significant in that it isn t as
colorful as stained glass mosaics that are typically shown in the cathedrals. The period in which this piece was
made was significant because it was the last flowering of gothic art until the introduction of Italian Renaissance
motifs in the 1450s by Jean Fouquets . The final piece of artwork is called the Adoration of the Magi, it is also
stained glass and was created circa 1390. It is from the Schlosskapelle, Ebreichsdorf, Austria and is made from pot

Methods Used For Monitoring Air Sheds
1. Air Quality
Airshed monitoring
Methods used for monitoring air sheds:
According to the Ministry for the Environment (2014), airshed is improved levels of air quality. A filter dynamic
measurement system (FDMS) is used to measure PM10. PM10 is an atmospheric particulate matter less than or
equal to 10 micrometres (µm) in diameter. The TEOM is a proprietary system that determines particulate
concentration by continuously weighing particles deposited on a filter (Aberkane, et al., 2010, p. 4). The Ministry
for the environment recommends the amount of volatile of material depends on the composition of aerosol and
temperature setting of the TEOM. In New Zealand, the standard temperature for this setting is 40 degrees C. This
method is used extensively throughout UK, Australia and New Zealand (Ministry for the environment 2009, p. 31)

Ordinary People follows the life of the Jarrett family─ parents Calvin and Beth and son, Conrad. Seemingly picture
perfect with an extravagant house, a nice car, and enough wealth to share, the Jarretts seem ordinary, but much

Buck slips away and drowns. After Buck s death, the Jarrett family struggles with grief: Conrad attempts suicide

Reality Television and The Negative Impact on the...
With a sense of voyeurism millions of Americans tune into reality television every night without much thought of
the negative message these show project. Since 1948 with the inception of Candid Camera viewers have been able
to select between scripted television and reality television changing the nature of at home entertainment. The
Millennium marked a change with the Academy of Arts and Science adding the reality genre to the Emmy Awards,
celebrating ordinary people in unscripted situations. However with more and more of theses shows glamorizing
negative behavior and social situations as well as taking away from scripted television and rewarding bad behavior
it is no wonder the Millennial and next generations are said to be doomed.
In recent years there has been an evolution in television networks that focus the majority of their programing on
reality television. Bravo which is owned by NBC originally focused on performing arts and independent films
shifted to a focus on pop culture, fashion and celebrities in 2003. The original content of these shows was ways to
better ones self with makeovers, however the birth of the Real Housewives franchise in 2006 brought on a much
more negative trend. With the high saturation of real women in different area codes now playing out unscripted but
seemingly over produced drama comes the negative propaganda that this is how women are suppose to behave.

False Memory In The Film Total Recall
Is it possible to implant a memory into someone s mind? When it comes to memory being implanted to an
individual mind I think that is the term false memories comes in. False memory is the variation between memory
and imagination which becomes obscured, and events that never actually happened but become sewn into an
individual memory as real events. This individual then believe that the memory is real and most can even describe
these false memories vividly as if they really experience them. For example in the movie Total Recall , Arnold
Schwarzenegger plays an inattentive construction worker in the year 2084 name Douglas. Douglas visits a company
named Recall, which plants false memories into people s brains, in order for individual s to experience the thrill of
Mars without having to travel there. In the movie Arnold believes that the memories of mars is real but later

Human memory is highly subjective to misconception due to the high quantity of outside influences that affect what
remember and how we remember it. There has been a time where it has been shown that outside influences from
our family such as family resentment or other occurrences might be the cause of false memories being implanted
into what we actually believe. False memories can be implanted in individual s minds that do not consider
themselves powerless or weak and uncritical. This shows how weak a person mind can be impacted by someone

The History and Future of Zoos Essay
Zoos present a certain blend of nature and culture. They have always provided a way to bring natural wildlife and
urban Americans together as a means of entertainment. Yet, throughout the years the role of zoos have changed.
Though once used for amusement, zoos are now being used for education on preservation and the welfare of
endangered species. One may wonder where and how the idea of zoos started and just how they, and the
environment around them, have changed throughout history.
The concepts of zoos have been around for centuries throughout the world. The earliest known zoo of the pre
modern past was that of Queen Hatshepsut of the Eighteenth dynasty in Egypt in 1400 BC (Graetz). According to

that the amount of wildlife that had been present to the early colonies were not inexhaustible (Deal 2). Those early

for agriculture to get used to American soil and its wildlife.
Author Vernon Kisling, of Zoo and aquarium history: ancient animal collections to zoological gardens makes a
great statement: Cultural institutions, such as zoos, change like the cultures that foster them (Kisling 163). For
modern zoos, they were said to have begun in London in the 1820s with London s Regent Park Zoo (Graetz). These
modern zoos, as well as those in Germany, began to take the place of royal menageries and set examples for the
American culture. The first zoo to be built in America was established in Philadelphia in 1874 (Philadelphia zoo).
During the time that America was transitioning from an agricultural nation to an industrial one.
Before the grand opening of America s first zoo, people would gather and pay shillings to see animals such as lions

The Trade Of The Fur Trade
The Fur trade flourished in the beginning of the 1600 s and prospered until the mid 1800. Some of the most
valuable items in the fur trade consisted of hats and pelts made from beaver. But what caused the fall of the fur
trade and why are furs and pelts no longer viewed as valuable as they were hundreds of years ago. The act of
trapping and skinning the fur from wild game is a lost art form which still thrives in remote areas but not in most
places like it did over 200 years ago. If the fur trade was never introduced to North America and the people who
inhabited it, then the U.S. and Canada would not be the countries they are today, and would not have developed the
trading posts that existed along the entire Mississippi river, which allowed for new arriving Europeans to colonize.
The fur trade all began between the Native Americans and the Europeans in the early 1500 s, the earliest amongst
the Europeans being France. The French would offer the Native Americans goods such as knifes, kettles and other
goods to establish a good relationship with the natives. The Native Americans began to give pelts in return, and this
is where a huge demand for fur began by the Europeans. Before trade was done in the interior of modern day
Canada, the French would arrive on shore and wait for the Native Americans to come to the shore to trade with
them. After the voyage lead from Christopher Columbus, a French voyageur by the name of Samuel de Champlain,
ended up in Northeastern Canada. He

Chipotle Vs Del Taco Research Paper
Chipotle vs. Del Taco Here are two restaurants that may make you become hungry when they come to mind. One,
Chipotle which some of you may know for their humongous burritos and classy, cozy wooden tables. The other,
Del Taco where their tacos are extremely crunchy and have convenient hours. Some people may believe that since
Chipotle and Del Taco are both Tex Mex restaurants that they are similar but based on their menus, environment,
and prices one can tell how they differ from one another. The menus at both of these restaurants differ significantly.
At Chipotle, people are given four main food entrees to choose from: a burrito, a salad, a bowl or tacos. After
deciding what entrée they want, one gets to choose what ingredients they want on their meal. For example, say that
Sarah decided to get a bowl, now she can decide what type of meat, beans, rice, salsa etc. she wants on it. As for
Del Taco the menu is completely different, there are more options to choose from. There is quesadillas, crunchy
tacos, soft tacos, regular size burritos, and combo meals. Del Taco not only serves Tex Mex food but they also bring

Extremely low and high temperatures can slow down the development of societies and civilizations greatly. If you
are living in a place with temperatures similar to the ones of The Arctic, you will obviously have a lot of harvesting
problems because of the cold and all the snow covering the ground. Also, problems with getting around and
working hard because it is too cold to leave your home and go out are very probable. Going out to work in
conditions like these, can leave people dead or very sick with things like hypothermia. On the other hand, extreme
heats, like in places close to the equator, also slow development for very similar reasons. People struggle to leave
their houses because of extreme heat dangers like getting deep burns or even things like skin cancer from the sun s
UV rays, and may also have harvesting problems because of how dry it is. Land forms and geography can also have
an impact on the development of societies and civilizations. If you live in an area with a lot of bodies of water, you
will be granted with things like fertile soil, easy transportation, abundant food and water supply, more animals to
hunt (fishing) and much better hygiene than for example a place in the middle of the desert. Your geography is very

Historical Events that Impacted Contact Improvisation...
Historical Events that Impacted Contact Improvisation
Dance has evolved greatly throughout the centuries. It began with ballet and has led up to contact improvisation.
This form of dance begun in the early 1970 s and was started by a man named Steve Paxton and a group of
postmodern dancers from New York City. Contact improvisation is a partnering form of dance and known as the art
of moving spontaneously with a group or another person. This form of dance does not require the exact set of
traditional skills of other dance form, it doesn t have a technique that could be studied, and it is practiced in order to
accomplish the highest potential. Contact improvisation came at a great time period, which of course was the 70 s.

Although the Watergate Scandal was an important event during this time period I don t think it greatly affected
contact improvisation.
Another important historical event that occurred during this time period was the end of the Cold War. In 1975,
under President Gerald Ford the US joined the USSR and thirty three other countries to sign the Helsinki Accords
that each member of nations vowed to respect human rights and boundaries. I think the whole end of the Cold War
greatly affected this dance. I think by using contact improvisation it sort of represented people s feelings better by
being able to interact with each other. So by using contact improvisation I think the dancers were able to get their
point across to the audience better. Therefore, the end of the Cold War was probably very important for contact
improvisation and expressing yourself.
Finally, the Vietnam War was another important historical event going on in the 1970s. When Nixon was president
he sent American troop strength in Vietnam. He also set up a program of Vietnamization, which was decreasing the
number of U.S. troops, offering only advice and assistance. The U.S. troops eventually returned from Vietnam but
the U.S. did not stop with its involvement in Vietnam. Nixon then extended the war into Laos and Cambodia, there

Character Analysis Of King Kong
King Kong is exciting screenplay that does a great job at demonstrating what the characters are feeling. When the
writers wanted to illustrate fear, they do so by painting an image terror, and makes it relatable. By making a scene
relatable, it helps with the understanding of the character s motives, and gives insight to the kind of person that
character is. By having a complex villain such as King Kong, one battles the urge to root for Kong, as well as
wanting him to ceased. While writers do an overall great job with the development of the characters, where they
lacks is in love story between Darrow and Driscoll. By not successfully developing the relationship between
Darrow and Driscoll in the beginning, love between the two feels rushed, which therefore makes it challenging to
care about their relationship. Overall King Kong is a well written screenplay, that shows does a great job at showing
what the characters are feeling throughout.
Where the writers of the screenplay succeed is in illustrating the emotion that the character is feeling at that
moment. If one does not do this successfully, it makes it hard to invest in the characters, and understand the
situation of the scene. An example of this is when Carl and the ship crew approach Skull Island. As they are
approaching the undiscovered island, the writers describe this thick fog that the characters enter (47). By doing this,
the writers demonstrates imagery to describe the dark and eerie place. As the characters are unable to see through
the fog, they start to become afraid, as they fear of the unknown. An example of this being expressed is when one of
the ship crew members Hayes yells captain, you don t know where the hell you re going (49)! Panic and terror
possess the characters, and the writers do a great of showing it.
The writers do a great job with the development of King Kong and making him a complex character. At first, King
Kong appears to be the stereotypical monster/villain that only kills and destroys, but later in the story, King Kong
shows a different side of him that a character such as himself usually does not display. A moment where the
complexity of King Kong s character is shown is when Ann and Kong have their first real

How To Easily Tell When To Get New Tires
There is a tire condition in Ottawa known as rimfrost. The result of this condition is tire rot and it typically happens
to the sidewall of the tire. In addition, this condition is noticeable. The first indications of it is visual cracks in the
sidewall of the tire. Moreover, it can appear on either the inner sidewall, (pointing to the undercarriage of the
vehicle), or the outer sidewall, visible to the onlooker.
Accordingly, the amount of tread that a tire has, is not affected, it is more a matter of the age of the tire and the
amount of exposure the tire has to extreme weather conditions. As to the tread of a tire, if your vehicle has a set of
tires rated for 50,000 miles and you diligently rotated

Compare And Contrast Jamestown Colony Vs Plymouth Colony
would anyone want to go to a place where dreams can come true and where the American dream was first created?
Everyone was created equal and has the same opportunity to reach for what they believe in. I believe that the
Plymouth colony was a better example for the American dream than the Jamestown colony. first they all worked
together for the greater good of the colony. Second they had a great leader. Lastly they had help from the native
American s to learn how to farm and hunt. The plymouth colony worked together for the greater good of the colony.
The plymouth colony had a policy that stated that everyone does what they are good at for the whole of the colony.
They also hunted and built housed for each other and worked to make life

Satire In Voltaire s Candide Or Optimism
Candide or Optimism
; with its main character Candide constantly roaming around the world carrying questions of good and evil, and
through the lines of the book take place the thoughts of criticism that flow through the river of philosophy on the
terrain of satire, is a short novel of François
Marie Arouet or best known as Voltaire
, first published in 1759. At the beginning of the novel, after a short overview of the main characters; Baron
Thunder ten tronckh, the Baroness, the
Baron s daughter Cun égonde, naïve Candide and Candide s mentor philosopher Pangloss, Voltaire exiles Candide
from his hometown and starts the series of adventures; and confronts Candide with the world and the others outside
the castle of Baron Thunder ten tronckh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words; Voltaire harmonizes philosophy, criticism and encountering with
the other
from the eyes of naïve Candide, the main character that darts himself to the adventures in the name of love that he
feels for Cunégonde and meets with people around the world with his deep curiosity. So, in this essay; notions of
philosophy, optimism and the approach to the other of Voltaire, embodied in the main character Candide, are going
to be the subject of discussion. Firstly, to start with notions of philosophy and optimism, the character Pangloss is
the key point.
Pangloss philosophy of optimism resembles the notions of German philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, as
Leibniz stated that
I laid it down that God, having chosen the most perfect of all possible worlds, had been prompted by his wisdom to
permit the evil Büyükçulhacı
2 which was bound up with it, but which still did not prevent this world from being, all things considered, the best
that could be chosen.
(Leibniz, 67), while Pangloss argument differs very slightly, as he stated these:

Gentrification of Housing Stress
As gentrification of housing stress continues, Local Government Areas (LGA) will lose lower income groups and
assimilate into a predominance of higher income groups, effectively homogenizing the population and decreasing
diversity. This trend will drive the housing market price up, decrease housing affordability and deter outsiders into
joining the community. The existing housing units will experience financial hardships, housing stress, and a gradual
deprivation of a means to cope with increasing basic living costs. In order to combat this ongoing issue, speculative
approaches by the City have been in consideration.¬¬¬¬
The aim of the City of Sydney Affordable Rental Housing State Environmental Planning Policy Strategy (SEPP) is
to protect existing affordable housing and to facilitate ¬¬¬¬¬new affordable housing in the City of Sydney to
provide for social, cultural, environmental and economic sustainability. The key of this strategy is to increase the
amount of affordable rental housing in the local area to very low, low and moderate income households; protect
existing stock of low cost rental accommodation; encourage a diverse range of housing in the local area; and work
with other inner Sydney councils to address affordable rental housing at a regional level. According to the SEPP,
affordable housing is refers to housing that does not take more than 30% of a very low, low or moderate household
s income. It defines affordable housing as very low income household as

Social Inequality In Eugene Onegin
The novel Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin is set within the Russian high society of the early 19th century. In
this society contains various conventions, including attending the extravagant balls that one is invited to, the
expectation of marriage, and the ability to duel others to protect one s honour. Eugene Onegin chooses not to
conform to many of these societal expectations, a choice that is detrimental to his social image. Despite this, he is
concerned about maintaining his masculinity, which drives him to follow a limited set of norms. Eugene Onegin s
rejection of social standards of Russian high society is rooted in how many social activities were done to be up to
date with the latest trends as opposed to their intrinsic entertainment value. Throughout the first chapter, Pushkin
gives insight into the routine social life that members of the high society must keep, through following the day in a
life of Onegin. When Pushkin describes how the chime and watch alert them (I.17) to attend the new ballet in town,
there is a feeling of obligation in that Onegin must attend this ballet in order to be with the trend. This is further
emphasized by the fact that he does not attend the ballet for its entire duration, and that he explicitly expresses his
boredom by saying, It s time for something new ... I ve suffered ballets long enough, / But now Didelot is boring
stuff (I.21). It is evident that Onegin is not at the ballet to be entertained, but rather because he is

Taking a Look at Queen Elizabeth I
She is the last Tudor monarch, and the only virgin queen in her bloodline. Elizabeth I of England was born on
September 7, 1533 at Greenwich palace to Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII. After her sister, Mary I, died on November
17, 1558, Elizabeth came back from her arrest to claim the throne. She is known for being a cunning and shrewd
survivalist. Since birth, her life has been about surviving all the odds against her. As she fights her way to the top,
the economy, the country s culture, science and technology, government, and communication will change all around
her. Because of her family, Elizabeth was left with a crumbling economy. As each family member ruled, the
collapsing economy would worsen, and it was up to Elizabeth to rebuild what her family destroyed. Henry VIII had
changed the coinage so that the face value was less, and Mary I lost thousands of dollars to a war that England was
not involved in yet. To undo what her family did, she not only taxed the common people, but she taxed those with
more riches as well. As she spoke with her financial advisor, Thomas Gresham, he had advised to change the
coinage. From there, the queen melted down all coins with no real value, and had a coinage that was newly minted
with precious metals. In addition, she changed the face of the coin from her sister to her. As they maintained the
coinage s new value, the economy slowly became stable. Not only did she have economic reforms, but she also has
religious reforms. When she

Why Accountability Is Not Something I
Crucial Accountability Accountability is not something I have devoted much thought to or pondered about in detail.
While reading Crucial Accountability, I started to recollect experiences in my past where accountability needed to
be addressed. I realized that at times, I unconsciously held accountability conversations that were successful; and at
other times, thoughtfully pursued accountability conversations that resulted in disaster. I was not aware until I
started reading the text that a method exists for achieving success with accountability conversations. Also, I was
unaware that my viewpoint and preconceptions could be the reason why some of my accountability conversations
have gone wrong. I did not hold myself accountable to preparation before I held others accountable to their
infractions! Prior to reading the text, I thought informing someone of how I felt about an infraction was a means to
let him or her know I did not like what he or she did, not as a means for changing a pattern or behavior because he
or she needed to be held accountable. However, after reading the text, I realized that I have a lot more responsibility
and influence when having an accountability conversation. It never occurred to me that the reason for a failed
outcome could be the way I approached and confronted someone. Probably the most profound lesson I learned was
that I should be putting myself in the other person s position to understand their perspective. I am guilty of jumping

Justin was akin to a father to Justinian, he gave him salvation where he struggled and practically reinvigorated his will to learn and do well in the world. While Justin enabled Justinian to learn and become an amazing man, he also attempted to find his way into the seat of the throne while the rule was weak. Justin had very obviously failed seeing as he was NOT fit to be a ruler, he was not an intelligent man after all. Justinian witnessed his uncle s failure and was able to learn from the experience and, using his position as the King s bodyguard (Citation), intelligence and military experience, weaseled his way into the throne, and into the position of King. As the King, Justinian was powerful. He held a large blade over all others that opposed him and was the largest factor as to why many of his people had been in fear. At any moment he could have crumpled under the pressure of all the power he held in the palm of his hand, and he had, multiple times. To easily and very simply accentuate his power, he would force those who approached him to bow down on their hands and feet (Lindquist 318). Even one of his closest acquaintances, Procopius, had described him as insincere, crafty, hypocritical, double dealing, clever, and a perfect artist in acting out his opinion (Macmillan Profiles 234). Many also described him as being an absolute Monarch and as the Anointed of the Lord (Lindquist 317). Despite all of this, he had also been described as abstemious, ... • 3. Research on How to Market a New Product Marketing Research The topic for this study would be marketing. I would carry out a research on how to market a new product in the industry. This research will bring together a worldview, strategies, and methods of research. 1. Worldviews 1.1 Epistemology vs ontology Epistemology is a consideration of what constitutes reality while ontology is the science or study of being (Blaikie 1993). This research adopts constructionism as its epistemology perspective because it is very consistent with the research nature in terms of its aims and objectives. This is because in constructivism, this research did not describe the facts just as they actually are as in objectivity nor did it create something new as it is consistent with subjectivity (Crotty, 2007). This research was thus built from a serious review and analysis of all the available literature on marketing of new brands and entry into the market by many scholars. Baike, (1993) describes epistemology as the theory or science of the methods or grounds of knowledge of reality, the manner in which what exists can be known . In this research we try to understand the position of my stand in respect to the theories drawn. 1.2 Positivism vs Interpretivism There is a philosophical position in relation to the purpose and place of research in general. On the basis of positivism researchers take a scientific perspective when observing social behavior, with an objective analysis possible (Travers, 2001). It is important to note that ... • 5. The Rhetorical Analysis Of Best In Class For almost two centuries, the system of public education has honored the best and the brightest high school graduates with the honorable titles of valedictorian and salutatorian.Though these titles have been a valued part of graduation for what seem like the entire history of American public schooling, they are under heavy scrutiny as impassioned and angry parents, as well as their hardworking students, attack the idea of only recognizing one or two of the class s most talented seniors. In Best in Class , reporter Margaret Talbot challenges the traditional system of choosing a single valedictorian by by exposing the emotional opposition to the system s change or preservation; her use of emotional dialogue as well as far less emotional, far more objective writing style allows Talbot to emphasize specific ideas and opinions with syntax to avoid confrontation, while simultaneously establishing that it is time for the traditional system of valedictory to change. One key rhetorical pattern that allows Talbot extensive control over how the audience views her topic is diverse syntax. Via mostly cumulative sentences, Talbot is able to clearly emphasize a specific idea about the subject while remaining neutral. For example, she explains that Saratosa is a competitive school district while visiting the area, I saw a car with a bumper sticker that read, My Child Was Student of The Month at Tuttle Elementary but most of the high schools have taken Kennedy s lead (224). ... • 6. The Structure Of The Hip Joint The hip joint is involved in movement and support of the body. Describe how the structure of the tissues associated with the joint enable it to function effectively. Analysing the structure of the hip joint will discover the importance of the joint and the way it helps to support, stabilise, strengthen and create movement. Areas that will be explored are the skeletal system, different types of joints and all the tissues involved at the hip joint. The skeletal system has five main functions which consist of support, movement, protection of organs, blood cell production and mineral release and storage. The skeletal system is made up of two parts, the Axial skeleton and the Appendicular skeleton. The Axial skeleton includes of the skull, spine and ribcage. The Appendicular is made up of the arms, legs, pelvic girdle and pectoral girdle. The human skeleton is composed of bones and joints. A joint is where two bones meet to enable movement. Hinge, pivot, gliding, saddle, ellipsoid and the ball and socket are all different types of joints which can be found in the human body. Joints are classified by their structure; the hip joint is classified as a synovial joint. As shown in image 1 the synovial joint has a joint cavity which lies between the two bones. This contains the synovial fluid that lubricates the joint. The fluid is produced by the membrane which lines the cartilage called the synovial membrane. In my life, I experienced something I thought I never would. My most important day of my life is when I finally met my older cousin Akash, while we were on our vacation on the cruise. I always knew my cousin Akash, but we had never truly spoke nor bonded. He d always do his own thing, and I guess you could say I looked up to him due to the type of person he was. It didn t matter if it was a family get together, birthday, Christmas, or anything else, he would never show up. This made it impossible for me to ever see him. However, then I found out that he d be coming with us on the cruise. To be honest, at first I didn t care much because I thought he wouldn t associate with me much, but I was entirely wrong. I grew up in a community very homogenious and it is hard to understand that people s experiences effect their understandings and alter our expectations. The idea of having a similar exterior equating to a similar background is detrimental and creates a lot of distance between social locations because it perpetuates stereotyping and essentialism. If you rely on looks and other identifying factors you will miss much of the person, as people are always more than just one thing they identify, or have been identified as. Misunderstanding creates distance because it leads people to retreat back into their own communities that they recognize and know and perpetuates stereotypes of identities. I think it is possible to diminish these distances by creating diaglogue between groups of people who identify differently than eachother. Much can be said for facilitating discussion amongst people of different backgrounds. It can aid in helping people gain a deeper understanding of one another and it allows a free exchange of emotions and ideas that in the end bridge the gap between communities. • 13. Romeo And Juliet Analysis Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his career about two young star crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. Arguably one of his most recognisable plays, it has been performed and adapted thousands of times into films, theatre, and music, and continues to have a major impact on society today. As the play gets older, it is still being performed to modern audiences but is this play gradually becoming aged and irrelevant to the modern audience? Will it need translation into contemporary English to remain relevant? Through the theme of fate and exploring the work of the modernised film of Baz Luhrmann, we can conclude whether the traditional Romeo and Juliet will need a translation into modern English. Baz Luhrmann is the director of the modernised film Romeo and Juliet written by Shakespeare in the 1700s. Baz Luhrmann s film interpretation of Romeo and Juliet, uses the same old English that Shakespeare s text is written in, his first scene could not be more different than the traditional opening to Romeo and Juliet. The Baz Luhrmann Version of Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet has a different setting compared to that of the play. The director had decided to modernise the whole play. By modernising the play, changes to the weapons they used, their method of transportation and their homes, were made. Instead of using swords in the play, they used guns in the movie. • 14. Summary Of The Windhover By Gerard Manley Hopkins The Windhover Explication Gerard Manley Hopkins, The Windhover, has been described as one of the most challenging poems to explicate, so with my limited knowledge I will attempt to do this correctly and disagree with professors who have studied this poem far longer than I have. The breaking of the word kingdom between line 1 and 2 is meaningful. The falcon is described as both morning s minion and king. If the break were after dom there would have been less exaltation of the falcon, which Hopkins sets up by using the dynamic verb caught, which implies spontaneity, joy, and delight, instead of a more mundane verb like view or note. The division of the word kingdom also allows for two simultaneous interpretations of the first two lines. The first interpretation being that the falcon is the kingdom, and the other being that the falcon is the dauphin of the dom(e) of daylight (Rudanko 176). For the sequence dapple dawn drawn sequence Rudanko proposes 4 possible ways of interpretation based on previous literary analysis and his own which are as follows: (1) The falcon is attracted by the dappled dawn. (2) The falcon is sketched against the dappled dawn. (3) The dappled falcon is attracted by the dawn. (4) The dappled falcon is sketched in silhouette against the dawn (Rudanko 176). However, immediately following this sequence the falcon is described as riding therefore it is not plausible that 2 or 4 are accurate interpretations of the sequence given that the dappling of the bird would be imperceptible if he were to be silhouetted and that if the dawn is dappled there would be enough light in the rest of the sky to illuminate the bird enough for it to not just appear as a silhouette. The only question left to answer is then, is the sky dappled or is the bird? When the poem is read aloud, as Hopkins intended with his works, the most natural way of hearing it is that the dawn is dappled. Hopkins has also described the sky as being dappled in other poems such as Pied Beauty, leading to the conclusion that option 1 is the way in which the sequence should be read, that the falcon is attracted by the dappled dawn. There is much less ambiguity over the line, Of the rolling level underneath him steady air, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Harry is the main character in this series whose parents died when he was young and he was brought up by his aunt and uncle (Philosopher s Stone, 1997, p.5). Harry was neglected by his aunt and uncle (Philosopher s Stone, 1997, p.27). Harry is presented a whole new reality when he goes to the zoo one day and his integration into the magical world changes him from the foundation. These changes within him will be analysed using the developmental psychology theories of Lawrence Kohlberg and Erik Erikson to explain how the environment aided or obstructed Harry s development. Using Kohlberg s moral development theory, one can judge how Harry s moral reasoning develops as he aged. Harry was in first stage of moral reasoning when he lived with his aunt and uncle as he was unable to judge good from bad demonstrated through Harry compliance his uncle s rules. On Dudley s birthday, Harry s uncle warned him not to misbehave in public and Harry had to obey his uncle s command or risk being punished as demonstrated by the following quote. Harry didn t know what time it was and he couldn t be sure the Dursleys were asleep yet. Until they were, he couldn t risk sneaking to the kitchen for some food (Philosopher s Stone, 1997, ... Air Quality Airshed monitoring Methods used for monitoring air sheds: According to the Ministry for the Environment (2014), airshed is improved levels of air quality. A filter dynamic measurement system (FDMS) is used to measure PM10. PM10 is an atmospheric particulate matter less than or equal to 10 micrometres (µm) in diameter. The TEOM is a proprietary system that determines particulate concentration by continuously weighing particles deposited on a filter (Aberkane, et al., 2010, p. 4). The Ministry for the environment recommends the amount of volatile of material depends on the composition of aerosol and temperature setting of the TEOM. In New Zealand, the standard temperature for this setting is 40 degrees C. The act of trapping and skinning the fur from wild game is a lost art form which still thrives in remote areas but not in most places like it did over 200 years ago. Another important historical event that occurred during this time period was the end of the Cold War. In 1975, under President Gerald Ford the US joined the USSR and thirty three other countries to sign the Helsinki Accords that each member of nations vowed to respect human rights and boundaries. I think the whole end of the Cold War greatly affected this dance. I think by using contact improvisation it sort of represented people s feelings better by being able to interact with each other. So by using contact improvisation I think the dancers were able to get their point across to the audience better. Therefore, the end of the Cold War was probably very important for contact improvisation and expressing yourself. Finally, the Vietnam War was another important historical event going on in the 1970s. When Nixon was president he sent American troop strength in Vietnam. He also set up a program of Vietnamization, which was decreasing the number of U.S. troops, offering only advice and assistance. The U.S. troops eventually returned from Vietnam but the U.S. did not stop with its involvement in Vietnam. Nixon then extended the war into Laos and Cambodia, there is secretly authorized bombing in order to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Character Analysis Of King Kong King Kong is exciting screenplay that does a great job at demonstrating what the characters are feeling. When the writers wanted to illustrate fear, they do so by painting an image terror, and makes it relatable. By making a scene relatable, it helps with the understanding of the character s motives, and gives insight to the kind of person that character is. By having a complex villain such as King Kong, one battles the urge to root for Kong, as well as wanting him to ceased. While writers do an overall great job with the development of the characters, where they lacks is in love story between Darrow and Driscoll. By not successfully developing the relationship between Darrow and Driscoll in the beginning, love between the two feels rushed, which therefore makes it challenging to care about their relationship. Overall King Kong is a well written screenplay, that shows does a great job at showing what the characters are feeling throughout. Where the writers of the screenplay succeed is in illustrating the emotion that the character is feeling at that moment. If one does not do this successfully, it makes it hard to invest in the characters, and understand the situation of the scene. An example of this is when Carl and the ship crew approach Skull Island. As they are approaching the undiscovered island, the writers describe this thick fog that the characters enter (47). By doing this, the writers demonstrates imagery to describe the dark and eerie place. As the characters are unable to see through the fog, they start to become afraid, as they fear of the unknown. An example of this being expressed is when one of the ship crew members Hayes yells captain, you don t know where the hell you re going (49)! Panic and terror possess the characters, and the writers do a great of showing it. The writers do a great job with the development of King Kong and making him a complex character. At first, King Kong appears to be the stereotypical monster/villain that only kills and destroys, but later in the story, King Kong shows a different side of him that a character such as himself usually does not display. A moment where the complexity of King Kong s character is shown is when Ann and Kong have their first real ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The result of this condition is tire rot and it typically happens to the sidewall of the tire. In addition, this condition is noticeable. The first indications of it is visual cracks in the sidewall of the tire. Moreover, it can appear on either the inner sidewall, (pointing to the undercarriage of the vehicle), or the outer sidewall, visible to the onlooker. In other words; Voltaire harmonizes philosophy, criticism and encountering with the other from the eyes of naïve Candide, the main character that darts himself to the adventures in the name of love that he feels for Cunégonde and meets with people around the world with his deep curiosity. So, in this essay; notions of philosophy, optimism and the approach to the other of Voltaire, embodied in the main character Candide, are going to be the subject of discussion. Firstly, to start with notions of philosophy and optimism, the character Pangloss is the key point. Pangloss philosophy of optimism resembles the notions of German philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, as Leibniz stated that I laid it down that God, having chosen the most perfect of all possible worlds, had been prompted by his wisdom to permit the evil Büyükçulhacı 2 which was bound up with it, but which still did not prevent this world from being, all things considered, the best that could be chosen. • 45. Gentrification of Housing Stress As gentrification of housing stress continues, Local Government Areas (LGA) will lose lower income groups and assimilate into a predominance of higher income groups, effectively homogenizing the population and decreasing diversity. This trend will drive the housing market price up, decrease housing affordability and deter outsiders into joining the community. The existing housing units will experience financial hardships, housing stress, and a gradual deprivation of a means to cope with increasing basic living costs. In order to combat this ongoing issue, speculative approaches by the City have been in consideration.¬¬¬¬ The aim of the City of Sydney Affordable Rental Housing State Environmental Planning Policy Strategy (SEPP) is to protect existing affordable housing and to facilitate ¬¬¬¬¬new affordable housing in the City of Sydney to provide for social, cultural, environmental and economic sustainability. The key of this strategy is to increase the amount of affordable rental housing in the local area to very low, low and moderate income households; protect existing stock of low cost rental accommodation; encourage a diverse range of housing in the local area; and work with other inner Sydney councils to address affordable rental housing at a regional level. • 46. Social Inequality In Eugene Onegin The novel Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin is set within the Russian high society of the early 19th century. In this society contains various conventions, including attending the extravagant balls that one is invited to, the expectation of marriage, and the ability to duel others to protect one s honour. Eugene Onegin chooses not to conform to many of these societal expectations, a choice that is detrimental to his social image. Despite this, he is concerned about maintaining his masculinity, which drives him to follow a limited set of norms. Eugene Onegin s rejection of social standards of Russian high society is rooted in how many social activities were done to be up to date with the latest trends as opposed to their intrinsic entertainment value. Throughout the first chapter, Pushkin gives insight into the routine social life that members of the high society must keep, through following the day in a life of Onegin. When Pushkin describes how the chime and watch alert them (I.17) to attend the new ballet in town, there is a feeling of obligation in that Onegin must attend this ballet in order to be with the trend. This is further emphasized by the fact that he does not attend the ballet for its entire duration, and that he explicitly expresses his boredom by saying, It s time for something new ... I ve suffered ballets long enough, / But now Didelot is boring stuff (I.21). It is evident that Onegin is not at the ballet to be entertained, but rather because he is ... • 47. Taking a Look at Queen Elizabeth I She is the last Tudor monarch, and the only virgin queen in her bloodline. Elizabeth I of England was born on September 7, 1533 at Greenwich palace to Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII. After her sister, Mary I, died on November 17, 1558, Elizabeth came back from her arrest to claim the throne. She is known for being a cunning and shrewd survivalist. Since birth, her life has been about surviving all the odds against her. As she fights her way to the top, the economy, the country s culture, science and technology, government, and communication will change all around her. Because of her family, Elizabeth was left with a crumbling economy. As each family member ruled, the collapsing economy would worsen, and it was up to Elizabeth to rebuild what her family destroyed. Henry VIII had changed the coinage so that the face value was less, and Mary I lost thousands of dollars to a war that England was not involved in yet. To undo what her family did, she not only taxed the common people, but she taxed those with more riches as well. As she spoke with her financial advisor, Thomas Gresham, he had advised to change the coinage. From there, the queen melted down all coins with no real value, and had a coinage that was newly minted with precious metals. In addition, she changed the face of the coin from her sister to her. As they maintained the coinage s new value, the economy slowly became stable. Not only did she have economic reforms, but she also has religious reforms. When she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Why Accountability Is Not Something I Crucial Accountability Accountability is not something I have devoted much thought to or pondered about in detail. While reading Crucial Accountability, I started to recollect experiences in my past where accountability needed to be addressed. I realized that at times, I unconsciously held accountability conversations that were successful; and at other times, thoughtfully pursued accountability conversations that resulted in disaster. I was not aware until I started reading the text that a method exists for achieving success with accountability conversations. Also, I was unaware that my viewpoint and preconceptions could be the reason why some of my accountability conversations have gone wrong. I did not hold myself accountable to preparation before I held others accountable to their infractions! Prior to reading the text, I thought informing someone of how I felt about an infraction was a means to let him or her know I did not like what he or she did, not as a means for changing a pattern or behavior because he or she needed to be held accountable. However, after reading the text, I realized that I have a lot more responsibility and influence when having an accountability conversation. It never occurred to me that the reason for a failed outcome could be the way I approached and confronted someone. Probably the most profound lesson I learned was that I should be putting myself in the other person s position to understand their perspective. I am guilty of jumping ...
