birthmark is in the shape of a tiny hand on the cheek of her face, which symbolizes humanity in the

When people think Appalachia, they think of West Virginia, but the Appalachian Mountains
stretch far from West Virginia and the people living in their hills have a shared cultural heritage

mostly either running away on the underground railroad or were freed slaves who joined the
