Big Impacts On My Childhood
When I think of big impacts on my childhood, heroes are definitely near the top.
Whether it was Legolas from Lord of the Rings or Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, I
wanted to save the world. Maybe that s why I fell in love with comics early on. I
wanted the admiration from my peers that these heroes got from me, and yet, the
world doesn t work that way. I realized pretty quickly that it wasn t like in the
movies and comics. The world didn t exist to give you a pat on the back whenever
you did a good deed. Maybe that s why from the moment I picked up my first

Background: The 2013 WHO guidelines incorporated simplified and more effective
antiretroviral regimens for the purposes of preventing mother to child transmission
of HIV. With ideal implementation of these recommendations, perinatal HIV
transmission could be reduced to less than 2%. However, loss to follow up (LTFU)
has the potential to erode the success of programs and a number of studies report
high rates of LTFU within the prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT)
care cascade. We evaluated the timing and magnitude of LTFU in a large
programmatic PMTCT cohort in Nigeria in order to focus future efforts to reduce
loss in this high burden setting.
Methods: From 2004 2014, the APIN/Harvard PEPFAR program supported antenatal
HIV screening for nearly one million pregnant women and provided PMTCT care to
over 30,000 women. The care cascade for women enrolling in the PMTCT program
includes antenatal, delivery, and infant follow up services through 12 18 months of
life. In this retrospective cohort analysis, we examined data collected between 2004
2014 from 31 clinical sites in Nigeria and assessed the numbers of mothers and
infants enrolled and LTFU at various points along the care cascade.
Results: Among 31,504 women (median age 30, IQR: 27 34) entering PMTCT care

Football, basketball, volleyball, and many more... these are all known as common
sports that people participate in. How many people were involved in sports during
high school or even now in college? What is it that makes it a sport? Is it the time
commitment? Well what about the competitiveness? We are all used to spending
hours and hours on end practicing and preparing for something whether that be a
game, a tournament, or a competition... We have all been there before. I started
dancing fourteen years ago, when I was just three years old. Growing up, some of
my friends always asked me why I wanted to be apart of something that wasn t
even considered a sport, but to me it was and it was the best thing I could have ever
been involved in. Anything that consists of countless hours of practicing and is
competitive should be considered a sport. The opinions on this topic are endless, but
I m going to discuss three reasons why I believe dance should be considered a sport.
Dancers practice just as much, if not more than other sports, they compete against
other teams, and dancers act like a family to one another. Although dance is known

Combat roles are grueling and nerve breaking, with a lot of commitment and
endurance required. Masculinity is the most suited trait for anyone to fit adequately
and perform effectively. Mostly, men fit well in these roles due to their masculinity.

and suitability of inclusion of women in major combat roles in the American Armed

significant role in many things we interact with on the daily like the internet.

Each database is custom designed for the company, or organization that will use it.
Records are kept in databases and each record is very unique in its own way
having different fields for what it pertains to. Each record has something that

separated into fields and this is how Big Data is sorted and accessible and

this assignment, I have gathered data spanning from 2005 to 2015 to analyze
importing and exporting between the United States and Thailand. By using the two
databases OTEXA and UN Comtrade database, I was able to identify trends in

On May 28, 2015, high school students Morgan Cassidy and Coralyn Whalen
performed their self choreographed jazz duet, titled Clarity. Clarity is the story of
two people in a very addicting relationship, that is completely hopeless, but continues
to hold on to hope. Clarity, along with many other pieces performed in St. Theresa
Catholic Secondary Schools dancerecital, was an effective and eye catching piece that
used distinct emotion throughout the entire song. The piece had very substantial
timing issues, and minor technique issues, but overall, the piece demonstrated
excellent partnership and promising potential.

In this particular piece, it was clear that the dancers were striving to hit each beat
perfectly, but their efforts weren t enough. In most sections of the dance, one of the
dancers sometimes both of the dancers, were not in perfect unison. Perfect timing is
essential for a duet to look clean and professional. If the dancers were to perform this
piece again, I would advocate them to work towards restoring the timing of their
number.
My last point is about the dancers techniques, which especially relates to the timing
of their piece. While observing the dance, I couldn t help but notice the amount free
movement being used. I don t necessarily think that using free movement was the
best idea for this piece, because the tempo of the song Clarity is very technical. In
my opinion, if the dancers had increased their technique to perfect their piece, it may
have looked professional and complete.
The partnership that Morgan Cassidy and Coralyn Whalen displayed throughout this

It explores the idea of mankind s own impermanence. Nearly two decades of human
infertility have left society on the brink of collapse. There are many important scenes
