Thesis Statement For Descriptive Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic "Thesis Statement for Descriptive Essay" can pose a challenging
task for various reasons. First and foremost, formulating an effective thesis statement requires a
deep understanding of the subject matter and a clear sense of direction for the essay. Descriptive
essays demand a keen attention to detail and a vivid portrayal of the chosen subject, making it
crucial to select the right elements for inclusion in the thesis statement.
Additionally, the challenge lies in balancing conciseness and informativeness. The thesis
statement must be succinct yet comprehensive, providing a roadmap for the reader while leaving
room for exploration within the essay. Striking this delicate balance requires careful
consideration of the language used and the overall structure of the statement.
Moreover, the task becomes intricate as it necessitates the integration of the key themes and
elements that will be explored in the descriptive essay. Selecting the right adjectives and
descriptors to convey the intended message adds an extra layer of complexity to the writing
process.
Furthermore, a well-crafted thesis statement for a descriptive essay should not only capture the
essence of the subject but also generate interest and curiosity in the reader. Achieving this
balance between clarity and intrigue is an art that demands practice and refinement.
In conclusion, the process of developing a thesis statement for a descriptive essay is a
multifaceted challenge that requires a combination of analytical thinking, linguistic precision,
and creativity. However, with careful planning, revision, and a thorough understanding of the
subject matter, one can overcome these challenges and produce a compelling and effective thesis
statement.

Single Metropolitan-Wide Governments
Single metropolitan wide governments do provide better services than the multiple
governments that are located in metropolitan areas. This government is more able to
coordinate the region s growth as well assist the entire region in sharing the proceeds
from trade and industry growth. Furthermore, the economies of extent in production
and supply of unrestricted goods are accessible to larger governmentunits (Hamilton,
2013). These competences normally bring down the government s expenditure while
still supplying the forms of standardized governmental services that should interest to
business when creating and running decisions. The recent population increase in
metropolitans has been realized by the broadening of activity in to the remote
The First Round Of Data Collection
During the first round of data collection, 48 recording sheets were distributed over
four work days, three shifts per day, and four work areas per shift. There were 109
restocking times reported on the recording sheets. The mean was 7 minutes and 32
seconds. The median was 7 minutes and 37 seconds.
During the second round of data collection, 48 recording sheets were distributed
over four work days, three shifts per day, and four work areas per shift. There were
110 restocking times reported on the recording sheets. The mean was 7 minutes and 13
seconds. The median was 7 minutes and 16 seconds.
Employees who restocked the work areas were given questionnaires that asked
about the perceived cleanliness of the stock room and refrigerator and freezer
storage areas, the perceived workload, the perceived ease of finding supplies, and
employee s sex, age, and years with the company. There were 109 responses, but
one questionnaire was omitted because it was incomplete. The first three questions
used a Likert like scale, where 1 is strongly disagree and 5 is strongly agree.
The mean for the first question, which asked if the stock area clean, was 3.22. The
median was 3 and the mode was 3. The mean for the second question, which asked if
the employee had a lot of supplies to gather, was 3.57. The median was 3 and the
mode was 3. The mean for the third question, which asked if it was easy to find the
necessary supplies, was 1.80. The median was 3 and the mode was 3.
Differential Diagnoses Paper
Differential diagnoses are developed by a clinician upon learning of the chief
complaint. One must begin to develop the possibility of potential diagnoses
mentally to guide the care provided to the patient. These potential diagnoses are
developed by the care provider and are often based on one s past clinical
experiences, awareness of the illness and a clear understanding of the patient s
complaint (Goolsby Grubbs, 2014). The care provider with experience may develop
these diagnoses independently and others with less experience may utilize evidence
based resources and clinical guidelines to aid in this process (Goolsby Grubbs,
2014). The process for reaching a final diagnosis requires further investigation and use
of physical assessment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Acute tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils secondary to an infectious process
causing painful swallowing and is more commonly attributed to a viral cause rather
than bacterial (Shepherd, 2013). A physical assessment of the tonsils may reveal an
increase in size with edema and erythema. This is often associated with upper
respiratory symptoms like, headache and cough (Shepherd, 2013). Another diagnosis
is pharyngitis. Pharyngitis is also a sore throat which is secondary to inflammation
noted at the back of the throat and associated with complaints of pain when
swallowing (Shepherd, 2013). Viral pharyngitis is the most common and can be
contributed to the rhino or coronavirus which lasts between 5 7 days and presents
with associated symptoms like cough, headache, fatigue and mild fever (Ruppert Fay,
2015). Finally, GABHS or more commonly noted as strep throat is a potential
diagnosis. This bacterial infection is most common in children and adolescents. Often
individuals present with symptoms including throat pain, fever, chills, headache,
cervical lymphadenopathy and exudate noted to tonsils or in the pharyngeal (Ruppert
Fay, 2015). This infectious process in younger children may also present with
gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain but is not
accompanied by cough or nasal
Persuasive Essay On Smoking
On every cigarette package the surgeon general clearly warns the public of health
risks involved with smoking (Marlboro), yet people still decide to smoke. Jennifer
is one of those people. What appeal do cigarettes have that cause people to ignore
this very important warning? It is also publicly known how addicting smokingis. Why
do people decide to chain themselves to this dangerous habit, and more importantly,
how can these chains be broken? People try quitting every day. Some are
successful, some are not. Jennifer is also one of these people who want to quit.
With hopes of realizing why she decided to start smoking, why she continues to
smoke, and the real risks involved in her and her family s lives, she hopes to find a
solution to help her break the chains of smoking for good. Jennifer came from a
family of smokers. She was born to a mother and father who smoked. Her
grandparents, aunts and uncles were also smokers. Female family members would
stop by and spend their time drinking coffee and smoking in the kitchen while
chatting. When Jennifer was very young, she would ride with her dad to store and
when he bought cigarettes he would buy her a pack of candy cigarettes. Today this
sounds horrible, but being born in the early 1980 s this was common. Ashtrays were
placed all over the home (even make in art classes for parents as gifts), parents
smoked with their children in their cars, people smoked in restaurants, and at
designated smoking areas inside the mall. Being raised and surrounded by smokers,
Jennifer trusted their judgement. And when she was offered her first cigarette, she
really did not hesitate to try it. When Jennifer was fourteen, she was offered her
first cigarette by one of her siblings. Even though it made her feel sick, she
continued smoking it. The act of smoking felt natural to her, possible because of
the pretend play of smoking when she was younger. And while her family did not
allow her to smoke as a minor, it was not hard to hide her new habit smokers cannot
usually smell cigarette smoke. Her friends also started smoking around the same
time, so socially it was accepted in her group. It became a daily part of her life and
has continued to be for the last twenty years. Times

Clinical Reasoning and Judgement in The Nursing Process
Critical thinking and clinical reasoning are essential skills to develop a sound
clinical judgement. Nurses use critical thinking models and processes to support
and organize the interventions that they perform in the clinical setting. In the
scenario of Mr. Patient requesting for a Do Not Resuscitate order, I used the
nursing process to serve as the framework of the patient care and the Lasater s
Clinical Judgment Rubric by Kathie Lasater (2007) to guide my reflection. In this
paper, I will describe the skills that were used in relation to the nursing process,
provide analysis of the model and application of learning in terms of CNO
competencies, and evaluate my clinical decision making in terms of patient
outcomes. While, the nursing process, served as a guide to organize my thought
process in relation to the overall picture of the patient, I also incorporated thinking
structures such as ABC and Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs to determine the
prioritization in each activity. Furthermore, I utilized the Structured Prebriefing
Worksheet by Karin Page Cutrara (2015) to make inferences from the data before
engaging in the scenario.
Clinical Reasoning Skills in Scenario
The main clinical issue in the scenario is the need of a Do Not Resuscitate order by
the client. In the pre briefing process, I predicted that the patient needs medication
to reduce his chronic pain related to his previous medical history of prostate
cancer and transurethral resection of prostate. Using the nursing process, I am
able to systematically assess and deliver appropriate interventions to the patient. I
prioritize his chronic pain over his feelings, based on the Maslow s Hierarchy of
Needs. As I complete his physical assessment, I noticed that his pain level is the
only variable that is out of the normal limits. I examined his pain in detail using the
PQRST pain assessment tool. I tried to look for more gaps in my assessment when I
inquire about his feelings in which I learned that patient would like to have a DNR
order.
In the planning phase, the health care team had a discussion about prioritization. On
one hand, the patient s pain level is eight out of ten that needed
Symbolism In A P, By John Updike
A P is a short story by John Updike about a young man by the name of Sammy.
Sammy works at a grocery store by the name of A P on the east coast, which is smack
in the middle of town and 5 miles from the beach. However, Sammy s dull
workplace gets flipped upside down when 3 girls stroll in wearing bathing suits.
This changes Sammy s life forever as he takes a rite of passage to learn about
conformity, power, and girls.
One of the things Sammy comes to understand during his job is how he is to be one
with the corporate system symbolized by A P. At the beginning, Sammy is quite
clear that he is not like the sheep and house slaves shopping up and down the aisles.
Sammy is confident that he is neither a conformist like Stokesie, who wants to climb

Sammy is used to being a sarcastic observer of society, where Queenie and her
friends just outright defy the social norm. For example when Queenie defends her
fashion choices against Lengel by insisting, We are decent, her confidence has now
turned into an embarrassment. Sammy sides with her argument that the young are
always decent , and being natural should prevail over corporations and conformity.
This leads Sammy to quit his job because he is infatuated with Queenie s life and
wants to impress her. Even though this news will upset his parents, he doesn t care
because he doesn t want to be like them, drinking cheap beer or lemonade. But rather
like Queenie who he pictures drinking water with olives and sprigs of mint. Sammy

Argumentative Essay On Fat Burner
FAT BURNERS: Who to use, When to use, Which to use, and How to use.
The relationship between fat and the average person is a hate hate relationship that
we sadly have not been able to permanently come out from. Like one minute you
are all agile working out eating healthy all to get a flat tummy non jiggly body and
we are excited then it s thanksgiving, Christmas, grandma s 90th and we are just
celebrating and enjoying all the food till your friends suggest going to the beach or
pool and you try on your swimsuit and just like that there is drooping everywhere
and obviously there is never drooping without the jiggles and there you are having a
panic attack obviously beach is cancelled but you realize your bestie s wedding is in
a few weeks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now with that being said the best fat burner is totally dependent on the user and their
reaction to the ingredients as well as the amount of weight they want to lose. So
these are things you should take into consideration before buying that highly
publicised fat burner because sometimes depending on how much weight you want to
lose about 4 5 cups of green tea can solve the problem and yea I am talking about
just regular green tea nothing fancy because green tea extracts is one major
ingredient found in all fat burners but if you are a bit heavier and want to lose more
weight in a shorter time frame then I suggest you keep reading to find out which fat
burner to buy. There are so many ingredients that are being used by various fat burner
producers but there are constants and these constants would be discussed as they are
mostly the main and active ingredients in any fat burner pill. Here are your major
ingredients:
Caffeine
Green tea extracts(EGCG)
Synephrine
Yohimbine
Raspberry Ketone
Capsicum
L Tyrosine
Glucomannan
Cissus Quadrangularis
Green Coffee Bean Extract
Caffeine
This is almost a staple in every fat burner pill, now this doesn t mean you should
begin downing endless cups of coffee because your body would only get tolerant
which means you would need to up your dosage and remembering that caffeine is a
psychoactive stimulant which can get you substance dependent it is advised to go
easy on it. Sorry for drifting off, now back to caffeine
Persuasive Essay About Pet Food
Fooled by Experts In this world full of the unknown, how can one say they know
everything? The answer is simple, people rely on experts; but what if the experts
have been lying to the netizens all along? Believe it or not, but this case has been
happening in the pet food industry for centuries. The pet foodindustry has been
fooling us for years. The pet food industry is something that is overlooked on and
due to this, the industry is not as tightly regulated than it should be. The pet food
industry needs to be more strictly regulated because what we are feeding to our pets
now are doing more harm than good. The leniency of the FDA towards pet food is
leading to the slow, unknowingly, deterioration of our pets. Further research is now...

Such chemicals and ingredients can lead to serious consequences, varying from
obesity and allergies, to even death. In an article written by Erica Shaffer, it was
reported that a couple sued a dog food manufacturer after the company s product
led to the ailment and the death of the couple s dogs (Shaffer [pg. 2]). Learning
these claims from multiple resources is enough to scare a pet owner, and these facts
show why it is significant for the federal agency of the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) to enforce a stronger regulation towards our fur babies food.
The FDA s mild attitude towards pet food is also leading to the increase of pet food
recalls. Well known pet food companies have experienced having to recall products
due to such things like chemicals in pet foods, and commonly, bacteria like
salmonella. This is a big problem, because not only are companies losing money,
but it is also an inconvenience and threat to pet owners. Salmonella is a germ can
that make us and even our pets sick ( Pet Food and Treats: Tips for Keeping People
and Pets Healthy and Safe from Salmonella [pg. 1]). With the FDA s leniency, their
actions can eventually even lead to our sickness. Due to the rising numbers of pet
food recalls, multiple websites have been created for solely tracking the different
recalls of pet food that has happened over the years. Those websites include

The Deaths Of Women During Ciudad Juarez
In general those who live in Ciudad Juarez know about the recurring murders over
the past decade involving women. Despite of that there are still millions that are
oblivious to this occurring or choose to ignore it. It also gets less talked about
comparing to other issues occurring around the world. Those who choose to talk
about the subject eventually give up because they saw no immediate results or any
progress at all. As stated before some chose to ignore the issue because they felt it
was the easy way out and had fear of their own lives as well. Especially, the
residents of Ciudad Juarez were in fear to speak of it because they felt they would
put their lives endangered. However, to truly understand the severity and
seriousness of this subject like many other issues you need to have some idea of
how and why it started and the history or facts surrounding the issue. That is why
the main focus is finding the factors that may have contributed to the recurring
murders of women in Ciudad Juarez. Moreover, the effects of the murders on the
victim families, the public in general, and the city. Also finding if there were any
motives behind the murders of the women. Lastly, finding if there are any solutions
for the murders to come to an end, any way to deter people from doing it, and has
there been something done in the past decade to tackle the murders from happening
again. There has been debates and deliberations on how and when the series murders
of women began, but
Summary Of The Poem Leis Spears
Now that the holidays are approaching, a certain long lived adage makes its yearly
debut: the feeling of giving is better than the feeling of receiving. Of course, it is
generally said in the context of gift exchange. However, who is to say it cannot be
a life lesson? Far too often, people are so very involved in themselves that they lose
sight of what truly matters, such as family or even community. They believe their
own problems to be far too great to waste time on helping others, which is exactly the
common schema Edgar Lee Mastersrefuted in his poem Lois Spears as a part of his
collection of poems, Spoon River Anthology. Lois Spears is a woman who, despite
having to live without sight, is incredibly happy with how she lived her life. She
dedicated herself to serving others and joyfully did so; her story did not convey an
ounce of spite or bitterness. Masters ultimately wrote the poem Lois Spears in order
to display how looking away from one s own hindrances or troubles and dedicating
oneself to improving the lives of others can bring true happiness. Right at from the
start, Masters begins Lois story with an epitaph like statement regarding who she
is in relation to others: ...[d]aughter of Willard Fluke, / [w]ife of Cyrus Spears,
/ [m]other of Myrtle and Virgil Spears... Rather than beginning to describe herself,
Masters purposefully has Lois speak about others before herself in order to show
how Lois puts the needs of others before her own. She
The Equal Pay Act Of 1963
An important federal employment law that all employees and employers should
be aware of is the Equal Pay Act of 1963. As conversed in week nine of class
discussion and video lecture, the Equal Pay Act of 1963 ends wage disparity based
on sex. The main goal of this act was to ban discrimination in wages, benefits, and
pensions based the gender of an employee in any place of employment. Women
traditionally earned less than men for doing similar work. The United States has had
a long history of knowledge of unequal pay between men and women, but it was not
until around World War II that the problem arose and women started fighting for
their rights on this issue. Women have tried passing several bills to help close this
pay gap throughout the 1950 s, but ended up in failure.
According to The American Association of University Women (AAUW), Surrounded
by top women leaders, including several AAUW members, President John F.
Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act into law on June 10, 1963 (Pearsall). Although
the act was signed on June 10, 1963, it was not effective until June 11, 1964. It took
a while for many organizations call attention to this practice of paying women less
than men. The act gradually expanded over the next decade to include a larger
segment of women into the workforce. According to the U.S. Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission, The EPA, which is part of the Fair Labor Standards Act of
1938, as amended (FLSA), and which is administered and enforced by
President Nixon s Economic Policy
A weak currency is the sign of a weak economy, and a weak economy leads to a
weak nation. Ross Perot. The words of the 1992 Presidential candidate still ring true
today, and in fact they have since the abolition of the gold standard in 1971 by
President Nixon. Ever since that warm August day the United States has been on a
death plunge into immaculate amounts of debt. However, by the establishment of the
silver standard in the way I will explain to you today, makes it clear that action on
such a policy must be taken.
Executive Order 11110, issued by President Kennedy on June 4th of 1963 attempted
to establish a silver backing system, though the Gold Standard was still in place
however Kennedy was assassinated and the order was revoked. ... Show more content

The unemployment rate averaged 8.5% in 1975, almost 10% in 1982, and has been
above 8.8% for more than two years, with little evidence of any improvement ahead.
Not only has Nixon s revocation increased the unemployment rate but it decreased
the overall function and stature of our economy as a whole. At 3% growth, the U.S.
economy is about $8 trillion smaller than it would have been had we continued to
experience the average growth rate prior to Nixon severing the link between dollar
and gold. That implies that median family income today would be about $70,000, or
nearly 50% higher than it is today.
To all those who believe in the American economy, to all those who want us to
succeed, to all those who want the best life we can possibly provide; you must
support this policy. Gone will be the days of millions of homeless people roaming
the streets, gone will be the day that a family loses their house because a greedy bank
took all their money. Gone will be the day where corporate America and Wall Street
rule every citizen s life. Ladies and Gentlemen, We must take initiative
Encounters with Angels in the Bible Essay
The Bible contains many stories of people having an encounter with angels. An
encounter alludes to an unexpected meeting. The word angel is a transliteration
from the Hebrew word mal ak in the Old Testament (Strong s H4397) and the Greek
word angelos in the New Testament (Strong s G32). Both words mean messenger
and describes one who executes the plan and will of the person whom they serve.
God, the Creator of all things in heaven and on the earth both the visible and
invisible, created an innumerable quantity of angels. The angels were designed by
Him for His glory.

Satan and a third of the angels were kicked out of heaven. The second heaven is the
stellar realm of stars and heaven. The third heaven is beyond the telescope. Some
holy angels abide on earth to minister to mankind for the work of redemption. In the
Old Testament, Jacob dreamed of a ladder between heaven and earth where he saw
angels ascending and descending. The ascending and descending on the ladder is an
affirmation and confirmation of the covenant that God made with Abraham. God said
He will be with Jacob until He fulfills the Abrahamic Covenant.
And behold, I am with you and will keep (watch over you with care, take notice of)
you wherever you may go, and I will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave
you until I have done all of which I have told you. (Genesis 28:15, AMP)
In the New Testament, Jesus informed Nathaniel that angels ascend and descend
upon the Son of Man. (John 1:51) Jesus reference to Jacob s dream advocates Him
as the Messiah, the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one can enter into heaven except
by Him. (John 14:6) The fulfillment of God s covenant is indicative of Jesus dying
on the cross and His resurrection. The crucified and risen Jesus Christ is the object of
mankind s faith. And the pinnacle of faith is to believe in Jesus without seeing Him.
Jesus said to him, Because you have seen Me, Thomas, do you now believe (trust,
have faith)? Blessed
Paul Loeb s Soul Of A Citizen
Through history many people have taken a stand and led a following to make
sustainable changes in the future. In Soul of a Citizen, author Paul Loeb tells stories
of average citizens who have found unexpected satisfaction in becoming socially and
sustainably active. Loeb expresses that we need to make movement from being a
bystander in your own life to working to make a difference. Between Muhammad
Gandhi, Grace Lee Boggs, and Muhamad Yunus, there are three very different, very
solid, and very inspiring sustainably active minds that have drawn the attention of
many people all over the world. Their struggles date from 1893 when Gandhi started
his movement to 2015 where Muhammad Yunus and Grace Lee Boggs speak out still
today. With their teachings... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He recollects about his views on the changes Gandhi made despite his introverted
personality. I like viewing Gandhi not as the master strategist of social change that
he later became, but as someone who at first was literally tongue tied shyer and
more intimidated than almost anyone we can imagine. Given where he ended up
on his subsequent journey, who knows what might be possible for the rest of us
(Loeb). Loeb explains that often times the efforts of activism does not produce
immediate results. In most cases victories are only partial. The most important
factor in protest is perseverance. The hardest step is initiating the first phase
which is just getting involved in the community. Excuses range from we re too
busy to I m too busy to handle holding on to a job, paying the bills, and raising my
children . Everyone is busy in their own lives. No matter how pampered you are,
there are always things to do. It is understood that some people may legitimately
not have time to volunteer for a cause. But there is always time to do something
for the cause. Donate money, food, time, etc. whatever you can to help. Loeb
explains in one of his excerpts that current times are troubled and we as a society
should take advantage of them by looking at what is causing these troubles.
Economic, political, and cultural decisions are all topics to question when looking
at social issues within our nation and on an even broader scale, our world.
Decisions that will effect social issues should respect human worth and create a
sustainable relationship with the earth. Loeb quotes one his friends in his book, Pete
Knutson, an Alaskan fisherman who has been forced to degrade salmon populations
for commercial profit. We re living in an imperfect world, we have to make choices
and judgments that aren t always easy. But you start with basic ethics, like
The Education Of A Gearhead Analysis
Chapter four, The Education of a Gearhead, consisted of Crawford telling some
short stories that spoke about his experience developing as a mechanic while at the
same time bringing forward a strong point. I believe that strong point consisted of
his belief that people nowadays aren t as involved and as attentive in the work they
do. Most importantly, they don t take their work to a personal level, only providing
their knowledge but not their soul into their works. In the beginning of the chapter,
Crawford states, I want to give a fuller portrait of the mechanic, connecting his
manner of thinking to his manner of feeling. I find the idea of disposition useful in
thinking about the effect the work has had on me, and on the other... Show more

His journey began by receiving his degree in physics, which led him to no job and
therefore, he worked as an electrician. Afterwards, it states, but I ultimately earned
a Ph.D. in the history of political thought, (104) which really just led him to a
serious thought of what he wanted to do with his life, because he wasn t quite
satisfied with it. He then fell back to the mechanic lifestyle (105) in which he
states, The physicality of it, and the clear specificity of what the project required
of me, was a balm for feelings of professional panic (105). Because Crawford had
left the mechanic life in his teenage years, he had a hard time fixing some bikes; he
eventually had to contact Fred to receive guidance. It states, Over the next six
months I spent a lot of time at Fred s shop, learning, (108) and even after being
offered a huge salary in a job as a director, he kept returning back to the mechanic
shop. Crawford states a strong statement, saying, Fred s life as an independent
tradesman gave me an image of liberality that I kept coming back to (109). He then
chose liberty, opened a small shop, alongside Tommy and began his new journey as
a self employed business owner. Because the shop supported a spirit of
experimentation, (111) Crawford increased his knowledge in many aspects, for
example, he learned why someone should never let a bearing spin when drying it,
how to bill, the amount of attention a bike needs, and finally, he realized that as
committed he is to the bike, this commitment and responsibility transfers over to
others or the owners. For example, Crawford was simply going to hand over a bike
that wasn t necessarily completely fixed, but instead he felt compelled to get to the
bottom of things (123). It states, The bike is for
Compare And Contrast Tchaikovsky And Beethoven
Pyotr Il yich Tchaikovsky and Ludwig van Beethoven are two predominant musical
figures of the classical and romantic periods of music and are both highly regarded
for their symphonies and quartets. Pyotr Il yich Tchaikovsky s 1812 Overture and
Ludwig van Beethoven s Third Symphony have effectively manipulated musical
elements to convey the trauma and horrors of war. These two milestone pieces of
musicefficiently and elaborately display the different aspects of the Battle of
Borodino using musical elements, form and instruments to convey the concept of war.
Tchaikovsky s 1812 Overture in E flat major, Opus 49 was composed to celebrate
Russia s defeat of Napoleon s Grand Army at the Battle of Borodino in 1812 and is
undoubtedly his best known work. However, Tchaikovsky did not feel as much
enthusiasm for his work and described the piece as very loud and noisy . The piece
was first performed at the consecration of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in
1882, as it was built in recognition of the Russian victory during the Battle of
Borodino (Lampson, 1996). 1812 Overture was composed in 1812 during the
romantic period of music and displays many different themes. The piece was
composed in eleven sections, beginning with asking God for assistance during the
battle and concludes with Czar s Anthem to symbolise Russia s victory.... Show more

3 in E flat major, Opus 55 was composed originally to dedicate Napoleon Bonaparte,
whom he believed exemplified the ideals of democracy and anti monarchy during
the French Revolution. The piece was titled Bonaparte in recognition of his
dedication to Napoleon and his political ideals. However, when Napoleon
proclaimed himself to be the Emperor of the French in 1804, Beethoven tore the title
page and re named the piece Sinfonia Eroica (George, 1998). The work is composed
in four movements and displays themes of deep and serious thoughts, melancholy
memories and ceremonies of imposing
Intrinsic And Extrinsic Motivations For Focus On The
Learner
Focus on the Learner Page 1
Introduction:
Nowadays, it is well known that learning a second language is as important as
studying in the high school or the elementary school. English is one of the most
important languages that we need to know and understand, because almost all the
jobs require it..
Student Background: My studentВґs name is Juan Pablo Cabuto. Juan is 11 years old,
he lives with his mother, father and sister, who is 5 years old. Juan is in 6th grade.
His frist language is Spanish, his mother knows English but she does not speak to
him in English. He started to study English a year ago, but then his schedule changed
and he could not continue studying, that is why he knows only a few things in
English.
Motivation for Learning: What motivates Juan to continue studying English involves
both intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. First, his extrinsic motivation involves his
getting into the secondary school which his parents want him to go to, he needs
English to attend. Juan shows his intrinsic motivation by wanting to improve his
English and thus be able to communicate with other people around the world. He
wants to understand the lyrics of the songs and finally he is interested in computers
and most of this information is in English.
Learning style: Janu is a visual and musical learner, he likes to observe first, and see
how the activity is going, visuals, movies, stories, he works better alone that in teams,

The story Revolt of Mother, by Mary E. Wilkins depicts a woman (Sarah Penn)
who is constantly exempt by her husband (Adonriam Penn) in taking part in

the movie the main character, Laura Burney, had everything her heart desired. On
the surface she had a beautiful house, a successful husband, and any material item
she could ever want. However below the surface she was really married to a
possessive as well as a physically abusive husband who made all the impressive

Gradually the reader is introduced to Adonriam and Sarah s ambitions, which
begin structuring the conflict at hand. Adonriam s goals are obviously work
driven due to the fact that he decided to build a barn instead building a better house
for his family. Sarah s growing frustration with her lack of influence in decision
making ultimately fuels her ambition to go against societies norm, and decides to
strip her husband s power. It is evident that Adonriam mentality is that his wife
should take on a position of servitude, while he takes charge and makes the
decisions. Sarah s presumed role is to be the housewife with little to no power. The
conflict is resolved in the last paragraphs where Sarah moves her family into the
barn while her husband was gone. Sarah is definitely the winner because once her
husband comes back he does not tell her anything about it, and even tearfully says, I
ll put up the partitions, an everything you want, mother. There is an absolute shift in
power from Adonriam to Sarah in the end, which would also make Adonriam the
loser. In Sleeping With the Enemy similar conflicts arise shortly after the movie
begins. The movie saturates the viewer around the general conflict regarding the
stereotypical gender roles within a marriage. The conflict is clearly evident in the
very start of the movie where her husband (Martin Burney) beats his wife (Laura
Burney) after he
Dog Is Man s Best Friend
Dog is Man s Best Friend The image that I chose was a photograph taken by a
woman named Elena Shunilova. The photo was taken of her child and their family
dog. To me, this image is beautiful. In the center, there is a young boy kneeling
down next to a very large dog. It appears to be just transition to winter from autumn.
The ground is still brown but snow is faintly falling around the boy and dog. The
young boy is wearing a navy blue snow outfit with tan fur accents around the hood
and in a ball on top of his hat. His eyes are closed as he is embracing the large dog
sitting next to him. It seems to be cold out based on his rosy red cheeks against his
very pale skin. The dog stands tall and appears to be older than the boy by the
matting in the cream colored fur on his chest. He is black around the jowls as well
as his eyes and ears. If the boy were to stand tall next to him, he would barely be
taller. The dog s eyes are also closed and his front legs are in a wide stance. The
bottom and top of the image are slightly blurred, and very dull in color. It appears
to be a very cloudy day. The image itself as well as the setting is enough to raise
curiosity in the story behind this photograph. There are some aspects of this image
that really stood out to me. Typically, when you introduce children to large dogs, or
really any animals, they are terrified and do not want to be around them. I can only
imagine walking up to an animal that stands taller than you; I would be
Benefits Of The Crusades
Were the Crusades primarily caused by religious devotion or political gain and
economic benefit?
The Crusades were a series of holy war lead by popes with the promise of
indulgences such as great riches and land, and also the chance to cleanse their sins
and an assured place in heaven. There was a chance for everyone, even peasants, to
go on an adventure to escape their hard and boring daily life and pursue fame and
prosperity. It has been a debate as to the clear motives of the Crusades for the soldiers,
many insist on the fact that most Crusaders were adventurers seeking their own
benefits, while many others say that without religion the Crusades would never have
had came about; stating that the promises of Pope Urban II were what motivated ...

In the account it describes the violent killings, destructions, rape and crimes the
Crusaders committed during the Fourth Crusade. The acts that they committed and
were recorded were plentiful, including separating children from mothers, defiling
virgins in holy chapels, sacking sacred places of worship and running riots over the
holy vessels. No man who knew about God would never be consumed in such
corruption and atrocity, EVEN IF they were guaranteed immunity by the Holy Spirit,
it was in no way a permission for anyone to carry out such deeds. This adds to the
fact that although religion was a big factor, it ultimately takes the backseat when
taking politics and economics into
Gram Staining Lab Report
Gram staining is a way of classifying bacteria into two groups: gram positive and
gram negative. The experiment conducted allowed for distinguishing of two
specimens, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli, using several dyes to distinguish
the two. The experiment revealed the culture of B. subtilis to be a Gram Positive
organism and E. coli to be a Gram Negative organism. Introduction Cell stainingis a
method that can be used to view cells and cell components with a microscope. The
structure of the organism s cell wall determines whether the organism is gram
positive or negative when stained. In addition, staining also allows for one to

maintained during the entire experiment by utilizing the Bunsen burner. I began by
labeling two slides and adding a small drop of water to each slide. Immediately after
adding water and maintaining aseptic technique, I smeared samples of bacteria to each
slide, one of which received a sample of B. subtilis and one that received a sample
of E. coli. My next step was to begin staining the slides with a primary stain such as
Crystal Violet for 2 minutes then rinsing it with water afterward. Next, I placed the
mordant (gram stain dye) on the slides for 1 minute and rinsing with water
afterward. Subsequently, I used a decolorizer (95% ethanol) for 10 seconds to
remove the dyes from each slide, followed by rinsing with water immediately and
patting each slide dry. Finally, I added a counterstain(safranin) to help distinguish the
slides although this step is not a necessity for gram staining. After conducting the
staining techniques, the slides were now ready for
The Expression Of Thoughts Of Self Harm By F4
This incident presents several demands for works and is complex as a result of
what was disclosed by F4. The expression of thoughts of self harm by F4 put the
facilitators in the very difficult position of having to not focus on an individual
and to stay focused on the group as a whole. Though it is assumed that this is a
difficult task for social workers in a general sense, I am of the opinion that when a
potentially serious and/or a complex issue arise that it increases the difficulty. The
group member that disclosed the thought of self harm felt safe and connected,
which is why she was able to disclose such intimate thoughts with the group. The
fact that F4 was able to share such information is a positive reflection on the mutual
aid of this group, though it may have been too much too soon or not appropriate,
because of the nature of the disclosure. This is not to imply that it was easy for her
to disclose what she did and it clearly was not easy for the group to hear this
information. The disclosure of thoughts of self harm by F4, which she felt was a
result of the stress she was under, is the first demand for work to be examined. Self
harm is not to be confused with suicidal behavior; self harmers say that inflicting
pain on themselves does make them feel better and it is used to make life more
manageable (Thornton, 2015, p. 189). This disclosure is complex as she comfortable
with disclosing the thought of using self harm to cope with the stress, which is the

Data
Discuss the importance of data accuracy. Inaccurate data leads to inaccurate
information. What can be some of the consequences of data inaccuracy? What can
be done to ensure data accuracy? Data accuracy is important because inaccurate
data leads may lead to such things as the closing down of business, it may also
lead to the loosing of jobs, and it may also lead to the failure of a new product. To
ensure that one s data is accurate one may double check the data given to them, as
well as has more than one person researching the data they are researching.

Comparison Of Blake s Songs Of Innocence And Songs Of...
When regarding the different options I had in comparing two of the works we
have already read this semester, my mind automatically went to William Blake s
Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience. Blake s examination of the duality of
a single subject s nature lends itself perfectly to a close reading such as this. When
looking at the different options available to me in Blake s volumes, Holy
Thursday (both the Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience versions)
demonstrated this duality clearly. The subject in Holy Thursday stays the same,
however, the nature of the subject is drastically different in each poem. In both
Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience, the poem titled Holy Thursday
occurs on Holy Thursday. This was a special service at St. Paul s Cathedral in
London, which was held on the first Thursday in May. The tradition started in 1782,
and this special service was held for the poorest children in London. These children
would be brought to the church by their parish officers, serving approximately six
thousand children. Both poems focus on this procession of children to the cathedral,
describing the state of the children and the varying attitudes towards the event itself.
These varying attitudes are what divides these poems that are so similar in content
to two drastically different creations. In Songs of Innocence, Holy Thursday opens
with a picture of a bright, cheery, and exciting event. Blake chooses crisp and clear
language to describe the
Essay on The Pros and Cons of Wal-Mart
It s a place everyone knows, much like the post office or even city hall. Wal Mart.
That is where the oddity lies, in the fact that a retail store is just as well known as
staples for towns across the nation; not to mention the fact that Wal Mart isn t just in
the United States, but around the world. Founder of the billion dollar industry, Sam
Walton, did expect success from his endeavor, but no one could have foreseen just
how influential the retail store would be. Wal Mart is an astonishingly successful
business with humble beginnings, but may have a rocky road ahead in terms of
social issues due to the treatment of employees and it s strong effects on the
economy. Born on March 29, 1918 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Sam Walton was said to

One of Walton s most important, influential and successful ideas he used at the
Benjamin Franklin store were his deals. He credits the success of Wal Mart to the
fact that the profit for a product would be greater if the product was sold as a
package deal, ...say I bought an item for 80 cents. I found that by pricing it at
$1.00 I could sell three times more of it by pricing it at $1.20. Walton s Five and
Dime, was established in 1950 in Bentonville, Arkansas, after Walton s five year
lease on the Benjamin Franklin was up; it was one of the only three self service
stores in the country. Walton opened another five and dime in Fayetteville just two
years later and finally, the first official Wal Mart in 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas.
Within its first five years, the company expanded to twenty four stores across
Arkansas and reached $12.6 million in sales. The success of Wal Mart came from
Sam Walton s ten rules for building a business that he shared with all of his
employees, the first being: commit to your business, and believe in it more than
anybody else. The second rule was to share your profits with your associates and treat
them as partners in order to have a mutual respect and furthermore an exceptional

Tuna That Go By The Scientific Name Of Thunnus Maccoyii
Tuna that go by the scientific name of Thunnus Maccoyii (Dennis. M et.al, 2010) are
one of the most valuable finfish cultured within Australian and most sought after for
sushi within Japan. The waters generally out from Port Lincoln within Spencer Gulf,
South Australia are where the tuna are mainly cultured in Australia due to the water
temperature being ideal for the culture of these highly valued finfish. Tunais within
the top four of the most valuable cultured aquatic species in Australia especially
Southern Bluefin Tuna (SBT) which are valued at four hundred dollars per fish
making the transport and capture of these fish very important where damage is
avoided at all costs. The transport of the captured fish from the wild in nets back
into shallower water where they can then participate in the ranching stage can lead
to serious problems and can bring upon mortalities if done incorrectly. Ranching is
the process of temporally holding wild fish at sea to fatten them on baitfish.
(Kirchoff. N et. al 2011 pg1) This process of transportation from the wild back into
the grow out pontoons or cages for ranching can lead to effects on a fish s health,
performance and or even disease and parasite infection.

How Does Machiavelli Influence The Leader
THE PRINCE
Introduction and overview
The Prince is an Italian book written by Italian diplomat and political theorist
NiccolГІ Machiavelli. Machiavelli wrote The Prince as a practical guide for ruling.
NiccolГІ Machiavelli, in dedicating his book to the young prince of Florence,
Lorenzo de Medici. In this book, Machiavelli suggest politicians regarding how to
gain power and how to keep it. The methods that Machiavelli suggests for leaders
are also relevant for today s leaders as same these were for the leaders of sixteenth
century.
According to the NiccolГІ Machiavelli a ruler must follow to maintain his position
and govern his state. With a direct authorial voice, Machiavelli employs ancient and
contemporary examples to illustrate the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Given that the research problem in this report is ambiguous, the basic research
method adopted is exploratory research. The role of exploratory research is to clarify
and define a problem at the initial stage of the research. Zikmund, Ward, Lowe,
Winzar and Babin (2011), suggest that exploratory research is not intended to
provide conclusive evidence and is conducted with the expectation that subsequent
research will be required to provide such conclusive evidence. Thus, exploratory
research is the foundation of the research process which will lead to descriptive
research, and maybe causal research.
There are many exploratory methods that can be used to conduct research. These
include field studies, action research, depth interviews, focus groups and desk
research. This exploratory research utilised one qualitative method to collect data,
which will help gain an insight of the research problem before further research is
performed. The method chosen was in depth interviews which are relatively
unstructured and extensive interviews in which the interviewer asks many questions
and probes for in depth answers (Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, amp; Babin; 2011).
Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, and Babin, (2011) also suggest that there is no one
perfect method which can meet all research objectives.
In depth interviews have been conducted with four members of the public who

Also with animals becoming extinct it could lead to a huge increase of one species,

Visual Aspects of Mythology During The Greco-Roman
Era...
Visual Aspects of Mythology During The Greco Roman Era Ancient Greece was a
culture that took great pride in flawlessness, superiority and on the whole greatness.
The Greeks basically molded the imaginative world with their cleverness in art,
architecture, and astronomy for many cultures to come. Even though so much of the
Greeksculture has been shattered, much of it still remains within society today.
The Greeks were a culture that strived for excellence, and harmony. So many
aspects of contemporary day life have been in some way, influenced by the Greeks.
They were fascinated with the human form, which is revealed in most of their
artwork. Perhaps the most common Greco roman era can be seen from the
Hellenistic period. Art still served a religious function or to glorify athletes, but
sculpture and painting were also used to decorate the homes of the rich. There was
an interest in heroic portraits and in colossal groups, but also in humbler subjects.
The human being was portrayed in every stage and walk of life. There was even
interest in caricature. Landscapes and interiors appeared for the first time in both
relief s and painted panels. The great Altar of Zeus from Pergamum, created by
Greek artists for King Eumenes 2, was enclosed by a high podium documented with a
monumental frieze of the battle between the gods and the giants. Many Hellenistic
tendencies were realized in this work. The baroque style of the sculpture was
characteristic of the time in its exaggeration

Poetry Explication Of Mother To Son
Poetry Explication of Mother to Son by Langston Hughes
Langston Hughes wrote the poem Mother to Son in the form of a monologue. It
likely dramatizes the intergenerational conflict, as mother s passionate words could
be an answer to son s position that contradicted with her own attitude. It is
impossible to say where or when characters are during this monologue; Hughes s
background suggest it was an African American family. The mother feels compelled
to speak as she believes her child is at the parting of the ways and description of her
own example would help him to make right decision.
The poem consists of only twenty lines, but author used plenty of poetic devices in it.

It is hard to believe the narrator physically presented in conditions totally without
light sources. The phrase is also a metaphor or comparison of two essentially
dissimilar things with common characteristics. It means the narrator had very hard

ladder. As the poem does not has words like or as it does not have direct
comparison or simile at the first sight. But it likely appears in the line life for me
ain t been no crystal stair (Hughes l. 2) as the narrator compares life with stares and
states they are not the same. Hughes used words to represent both narrators external
and internal conditions (imagery). Lines about a poor room without a carpet (l. 6 7)
created an image of her living conditions, and comments about splinters, tacks and
torn boards highlights the woman s feelings. Last images are also an example of the

The Theory Of The Work Of Art
Cubism was always an interpretation of objective reality, of a given motif. But
Kandinsky was to initiate was by contrast essentially and deliberately non objective.
Kandinsky s own experience was personal and even apocalyptic.
2 Kandinsky conclude non objective painting must be expressive, emotion or spiritual
experience. Non objective painting could form and colour, free form all
representational aim, be articulated into a language of symbolic discourse.
3.Art is a construction of concrete elements of form and colour which become
expressive in the process of synthesis or arrangement: the form of the work of art is
in itself the content, and whatever expressiveness there is in the work of art
originates with the form.
4. The whole purpose of this alternative principle was to escape from the internal
necessities of our individual existence and to create a pure art, free from human
tragedy , impersonal and universal.
5.The painter who was to develop to its logical extreme the objective concept of
abstraction was Piet Mondrian (or Mondriaan)
6. His (Mondrian s) style of pure abstraction evolves gradually and consistently form
his patient search for a reality behind the motif.
7.The journal De Stijl was a propogate their views on art. This became the name of
the movement, though Mondrian himself always preferred Nieuwe Beelding (neo

Essay on Public Service Broadcasting Within The Plural...
Introduction
British Broadcasting Corporation [BBC] has played its role as a Public Service
Broadcasting [PSB] in England since 1926. It was set up on Baron Reith s hands as
an educative media building public s character by establishing and socializing
cultural value to the society via its programs. Hitherto, BBC s work focuses on the
cultural connection among the society and plays a role as its guardian rather than
pays attention to the diversity among them (Curran Seaton, 2003). However, some
critiques about its existence started raising in the end of 1980s as the appearance of
the Sky Media commercial satellite television company which gave larger opportunity
for public to choose what they want to see. Recently, one of the most ... Show more

Therefore, its operation focuses more on fostering the civilization and democracy
rather than to gain revenue. Besides, it also must be willing for a limited autonomy in
its operation since the government has the authority to control its working mechanism.
The core objection of this form of broadcasting is to serve public by providing
quality information and facilitating public discourse to enforce democracy and
advance civilization. In term of quality information, PSB plays a role as socio
cultural agent whose duty is to perpetuate the high culture and raise public
awareness as an united national entity. Furthermore, in its role as a discursive
arena, PSB exists as a practice of Habermas idea of public sphere where public as a
political community exercise their freedom of assembly and freedom of information
to solve their social problem as well as to reach an agreement about the common
good which is expected to affect the policy in a society (Hauser, 1998).
To guarantee that this democratic function works well, PSB must guarantee that its
operation is impartially detached from either state or market interest. In this case,
BBC is a good example.
Since it s mobilization from private company to public corporation, BBC operates as
a form of quangos (Butsch, 2007) which work as an independent organisation playing
a governmental role. Since 1946, its operational fund comes from the
The Pearl Greed
The novella The Pearl by John Steinbeck follows the story of a pearl, the hope, and
evil that it carries which consumes Kino and the city of La Paz. in this story we are
going to witness the decision Kino make and how that drastically affects his life.
Thus, throughout five paragraphs, I am going to be talking about the tragedy of Kino
and his family, but most importantly who or what is responsible.
I argue that greed, culture, anger, happiness, luck, death, and evil are all significant
aspects of this book, which influenced everyone in the story at one point which
includes them in the responsibility of the tragedy that Kino and his family faced.
Greed is the utmost culpable for the tragedy of Kino and his family. As a result

if he were taken advantage of he would know how to prove it, for instance, the pearl

lose sight of right from wrong, and he did not understand that until the end of the
story when Coyotito died, and he threw away the pearl. To summarize everyone in

How Does Fatty Acid Contribute To The Production Of
Glucose
An individual engaged in vigorous exercise demands much more energy than a
sedentary individual. The supplied energy during a 100 meter sprint or a marathon
run comes at a cost, which is the production of ATP (Hill et al.). At the beginning of
exercise the body relies on the glycogen stores in muscle that aids in ATP production.
Eventually, glucoselevels in muscles begin to decrease as the activity continues, it s
also thought that insufficient glucose causes tiredness (Hill et al.) . Glucose must be
provided continuously in order to satisfy one s energy demands. Consequently,
glucose is delivered by blood to the muscles. Fatty acids also contribute to the
process of generating energy when glucose levels are low, which are broken down to
National Football League Vs National Basketball Association
The National Football League and the National Basketball Association are very
alike but different in their own ways. Although both the leagues have contracts, a
salary cap, and revenue sharing they are both very different. Both leagues have a
championship game game where they score high ratings because of their high
market players. Curry and Lebron playing against each other in the NBA finals
last year generated ratings up to 19.94 million viewers the most all time other than
the 1998 Jordan s Bulls finals. Brady and Wilson playing against each other in the
super bowl generated ratings up to 112 million dollars the most all time. This shows
the both sports are big but are different. While both are wildly successful major
sports leagues, they are very different when it comes to player contracts, revenue
sharing, and the salary cap.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The NFL handles its contracts based on the team. They offer larger contracts ut
end up not paying all the money to the player. The NFL only pays players what
they have earned. If a player is offer 100 million dollars to play for a team, and the
player only plays for 2 years, the player would only receive 44 million dollars. The
NBA guarantees all the money in the contract. NBA players tend to have longer
careers and less injuries than NFL players so teams are willing to offer guaranteed
contracts to their players. NBA teams don t offer the same amount of money to its
players but end up paying around the same amount of money has NFL teams do with
guaranteed contracts. NBA
The Frente Sandinista De LiberaciГіn Nacional (Fsln), Or
The Frente Sandinista de LiberaciГіn Nacional (FSLN), or the Sandinista National
Liberation Front, came to power in Nicaragua in 1979 after ousting Anatasio Somoza
and putting an end to his family s thirty six year dictatorship. Prior to the revolution
that lead to their rise in power, the Sandinista National Liberation Front promised to
implement several developmental policies that would raise the living standards of
their fellow citizens. I previously argued that development is both a natural and man
made phenomenon which aims to positively shape the lives of people via economic,
cultural, and educational reform. By this definition the policies carried out by the
Sandinistas, which sought to improve the lives of their fellow citizens,... Show more

Nicaraguans also faced a life expectancy of fifty three years and routinely died from
illnesses that could have easily been treated and monitored. Half of the population
was illiterate and thirty percent of the nation s income went to five percent of the
population whilst fifteen percent was spread across fifty percent. These were just a
few of the conditions which prompted the Sandinista s into action and would
eventually determine their political promises and platform. The developmental
programs and policies they enacted were directly in response to these facts and were
meant to improve the lives of their nation s poorest people. Prior to coming to power,
the Sandinistas promised large scale agrarian reform and land redistribution. Agrarian
reform as a national development project was meant to raise the living standards of
landless peasant farmers and provide them with the opportunity to cultivate food for
consumption and sale. The rural bourgeoisie owned around eighty five percent of the
nation s farmland and comprised just five percent of the agricultural economically
active population (EAP). Peasant farmers, on the other hand, made up fifty eight
percent of the agricultural EAP and owned the remaining fifteen percent of the land.
Landless laborers, the main group for whom the Sandinistas had promised reform,
made up the remaining thirty seven percent of the agriculturally active population.

This government is more able to coordinate the region s growth as well assist the entire region in sharing the proceeds from trade and industry growth. Furthermore, the economies of extent in production and supply of unrestricted goods are accessible to larger governmentunits (Hamilton, 2013). These competences normally bring down the government s expenditure while still supplying the forms of standardized governmental services that should interest to business when creating and running decisions. The recent population increase in metropolitans has been realized by the broadening of activity in to the remote

There were 109 restocking times reported on the recording sheets. The mean was 7 minutes and 32 seconds. The median was 7 minutes and 37 seconds. During the second round of data collection, 48 recording sheets were distributed over four work days, three shifts per day, and four work areas per shift. There were 110 restocking times reported on the recording sheets. The mean was 7 minutes and 13 seconds. The median was 7 minutes and 16 seconds. Employees who restocked the work areas were given questionnaires that asked about the perceived cleanliness of the stock room and refrigerator and freezer storage areas, the perceived workload, the perceived ease of finding supplies, and employee s sex, age, and years with the company. There were 109 responses, but one questionnaire was omitted because it was incomplete. The first three questions used a Likert like scale, where 1 is strongly disagree and 5 is strongly agree. The mean for the first question, which asked if the stock area clean, was 3.22. The median was 3 and the mode was 3. The mean for the second question, which asked if the employee had a lot of supplies to gather, was 3.57. The median was 3 and the mode was 3. The mean for the third question, which asked if it was easy to find the necessary supplies, was 1.80. The median was 3 and the mode was 3.
  • 4. Differential Diagnoses Paper Differential diagnoses are developed by a clinician upon learning of the chief complaint. One must begin to develop the possibility of potential diagnoses mentally to guide the care provided to the patient. These potential diagnoses are developed by the care provider and are often based on one s past clinical experiences, awareness of the illness and a clear understanding of the patient s complaint (Goolsby Grubbs, 2014). The care provider with experience may develop these diagnoses independently and others with less experience may utilize evidence based resources and clinical guidelines to aid in this process (Goolsby Grubbs, 2014). The process for reaching a final diagnosis requires further investigation and use of physical assessment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Acute tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils secondary to an infectious process causing painful swallowing and is more commonly attributed to a viral cause rather than bacterial (Shepherd, 2013). A physical assessment of the tonsils may reveal an increase in size with edema and erythema. This is often associated with upper respiratory symptoms like, headache and cough (Shepherd, 2013). Another diagnosis is pharyngitis. Pharyngitis is also a sore throat which is secondary to inflammation noted at the back of the throat and associated with complaints of pain when swallowing (Shepherd, 2013). Viral pharyngitis is the most common and can be contributed to the rhino or coronavirus which lasts between 5 7 days and presents with associated symptoms like cough, headache, fatigue and mild fever (Ruppert Fay, 2015). Finally, GABHS or more commonly noted as strep throat is a potential diagnosis. This bacterial infection is most common in children and adolescents. Often individuals present with symptoms including throat pain, fever, chills, headache, cervical lymphadenopathy and exudate noted to tonsils or in the pharyngeal (Ruppert Fay, 2015). This infectious process in younger children may also present with gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain but is not accompanied by cough or nasal
  • 5. Persuasive Essay On Smoking On every cigarette package the surgeon general clearly warns the public of health risks involved with smoking (Marlboro), yet people still decide to smoke. Jennifer is one of those people. What appeal do cigarettes have that cause people to ignore this very important warning? It is also publicly known how addicting smokingis. Why do people decide to chain themselves to this dangerous habit, and more importantly, how can these chains be broken? People try quitting every day. Some are successful, some are not. Jennifer is also one of these people who want to quit. With hopes of realizing why she decided to start smoking, why she continues to smoke, and the real risks involved in her and her family s lives, she hopes to find a solution to help her break the chains of smoking for good. Jennifer came from a family of smokers. She was born to a mother and father who smoked. Her grandparents, aunts and uncles were also smokers. Female family members would stop by and spend their time drinking coffee and smoking in the kitchen while chatting. When Jennifer was very young, she would ride with her dad to store and when he bought cigarettes he would buy her a pack of candy cigarettes. Today this sounds horrible, but being born in the early 1980 s this was common. Ashtrays were placed all over the home (even make in art classes for parents as gifts), parents smoked with their children in their cars, people smoked in restaurants, and at designated smoking areas inside the mall. Being raised and surrounded by smokers, Jennifer trusted their judgement. And when she was offered her first cigarette, she really did not hesitate to try it. When Jennifer was fourteen, she was offered her first cigarette by one of her siblings. Even though it made her feel sick, she continued smoking it. The act of smoking felt natural to her, possible because of the pretend play of smoking when she was younger. And while her family did not allow her to smoke as a minor, it was not hard to hide her new habit smokers cannot usually smell cigarette smoke. Her friends also started smoking around the same time, so socially it was accepted in her group. It became a daily part of her life and has continued to be for the last twenty years. Times
  • 6. The Importance Of Clinical Reasoning And Judgement In The... Clinical Reasoning and Judgement in The Nursing Process Critical thinking and clinical reasoning are essential skills to develop a sound clinical judgement. Nurses use critical thinking models and processes to support and organize the interventions that they perform in the clinical setting. In the scenario of Mr. Patient requesting for a Do Not Resuscitate order, I used the nursing process to serve as the framework of the patient care and the Lasater s Clinical Judgment Rubric by Kathie Lasater (2007) to guide my reflection. In this paper, I will describe the skills that were used in relation to the nursing process, provide analysis of the model and application of learning in terms of CNO competencies, and evaluate my clinical decision making in terms of patient outcomes. While, the nursing process, served as a guide to organize my thought process in relation to the overall picture of the patient, I also incorporated thinking structures such as ABC and Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs to determine the prioritization in each activity. Furthermore, I utilized the Structured Prebriefing Worksheet by Karin Page Cutrara (2015) to make inferences from the data before engaging in the scenario. Clinical Reasoning Skills in Scenario The main clinical issue in the scenario is the need of a Do Not Resuscitate order by the client. In the pre briefing process, I predicted that the patient needs medication to reduce his chronic pain related to his previous medical history of prostate cancer and transurethral resection of prostate. Using the nursing process, I am able to systematically assess and deliver appropriate interventions to the patient. I prioritize his chronic pain over his feelings, based on the Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs. As I complete his physical assessment, I noticed that his pain level is the only variable that is out of the normal limits. I examined his pain in detail using the PQRST pain assessment tool. I tried to look for more gaps in my assessment when I inquire about his feelings in which I learned that patient would like to have a DNR order. In the planning phase, the health care team had a discussion about prioritization. On one hand, the patient s pain level is eight out of ten that needed
  • 7. Symbolism In A P, By John Updike A P is a short story by John Updike about a young man by the name of Sammy. Sammy works at a grocery store by the name of A P on the east coast, which is smack in the middle of town and 5 miles from the beach. However, Sammy s dull workplace gets flipped upside down when 3 girls stroll in wearing bathing suits. This changes Sammy s life forever as he takes a rite of passage to learn about conformity, power, and girls. One of the things Sammy comes to understand during his job is how he is to be one with the corporate system symbolized by A P. At the beginning, Sammy is quite clear that he is not like the sheep and house slaves shopping up and down the aisles. Sammy is confident that he is neither a conformist like Stokesie, who wants to climb ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sammy is used to being a sarcastic observer of society, where Queenie and her friends just outright defy the social norm. For example when Queenie defends her fashion choices against Lengel by insisting, We are decent, her confidence has now turned into an embarrassment. Sammy sides with her argument that the young are always decent , and being natural should prevail over corporations and conformity. This leads Sammy to quit his job because he is infatuated with Queenie s life and wants to impress her. Even though this news will upset his parents, he doesn t care because he doesn t want to be like them, drinking cheap beer or lemonade. But rather like Queenie who he pictures drinking water with olives and sprigs of mint. Sammy is looking to be something more than his
  • 8. Argumentative Essay On Fat Burner FAT BURNERS: Who to use, When to use, Which to use, and How to use. The relationship between fat and the average person is a hate hate relationship that we sadly have not been able to permanently come out from. Like one minute you are all agile working out eating healthy all to get a flat tummy non jiggly body and we are excited then it s thanksgiving, Christmas, grandma s 90th and we are just celebrating and enjoying all the food till your friends suggest going to the beach or pool and you try on your swimsuit and just like that there is drooping everywhere and obviously there is never drooping without the jiggles and there you are having a panic attack obviously beach is cancelled but you realize your bestie s wedding is in a few weeks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now with that being said the best fat burner is totally dependent on the user and their reaction to the ingredients as well as the amount of weight they want to lose. So these are things you should take into consideration before buying that highly publicised fat burner because sometimes depending on how much weight you want to lose about 4 5 cups of green tea can solve the problem and yea I am talking about just regular green tea nothing fancy because green tea extracts is one major ingredient found in all fat burners but if you are a bit heavier and want to lose more weight in a shorter time frame then I suggest you keep reading to find out which fat burner to buy. There are so many ingredients that are being used by various fat burner producers but there are constants and these constants would be discussed as they are mostly the main and active ingredients in any fat burner pill. Here are your major ingredients: Caffeine Green tea extracts(EGCG) Synephrine Yohimbine Raspberry Ketone Capsicum L Tyrosine Glucomannan Cissus Quadrangularis Green Coffee Bean Extract Caffeine This is almost a staple in every fat burner pill, now this doesn t mean you should begin downing endless cups of coffee because your body would only get tolerant which means you would need to up your dosage and remembering that caffeine is a psychoactive stimulant which can get you substance dependent it is advised to go easy on it. Sorry for drifting off, now back to caffeine

Believe it or not, but this case has been happening in the pet food industry for centuries. The pet foodindustry has been fooling us for years. The pet food industry is something that is overlooked on and due to this, the industry is not as tightly regulated than it should be. The pet food industry needs to be more strictly regulated because what we are feeding to our pets now are doing more harm than good. Such chemicals and ingredients can lead to serious consequences, varying from obesity and allergies, to even death. In an article written by Erica Shaffer, it was reported that a couple sued a dog food manufacturer after the company s product led to the ailment and the death of the couple s dogs (Shaffer [pg. 2]). Learning these claims from multiple resources is enough to scare a pet owner, and these facts show why it is significant for the federal agency of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to enforce a stronger regulation towards our fur babies food. The FDA s mild attitude towards pet food is also leading to the increase of pet food recalls. Well known pet food companies have experienced having to recall products due to such things like chemicals in pet foods, and commonly, bacteria like salmonella. This is a big problem, because not only are companies losing money, but it is also an inconvenience and threat to pet owners. Salmonella is a germ can that make us and even our pets sick ( Pet Food and Treats: Tips for Keeping People and Pets Healthy and Safe from Salmonella [pg. 1]). With the FDA s leniency, their actions can eventually even lead to our sickness. Due to the rising numbers of pet food recalls, multiple websites have been created for solely tracking the different recalls of pet food that has happened over the years. Those websites include www.dogfoodadvisor.com, www.petful.com, and
  • 10. The Deaths Of Women During Ciudad Juarez In general those who live in Ciudad Juarez know about the recurring murders over the past decade involving women. Despite of that there are still millions that are oblivious to this occurring or choose to ignore it. It also gets less talked about comparing to other issues occurring around the world. Those who choose to talk about the subject eventually give up because they saw no immediate results or any progress at all. As stated before some chose to ignore the issue because they felt it was the easy way out and had fear of their own lives as well. Especially, the residents of Ciudad Juarez were in fear to speak of it because they felt they would put their lives endangered. However, to truly understand the severity and seriousness of this subject like many other issues you need to have some idea of how and why it started and the history or facts surrounding the issue. That is why the main focus is finding the factors that may have contributed to the recurring murders of women in Ciudad Juarez. Moreover, the effects of the murders on the victim families, the public in general, and the city. Also finding if there were any motives behind the murders of the women. Lastly, finding if there are any solutions for the murders to come to an end, any way to deter people from doing it, and has there been something done in the past decade to tackle the murders from happening again. There has been debates and deliberations on how and when the series murders of women began, but
  • 11. Summary Of The Poem Leis Spears Now that the holidays are approaching, a certain long lived adage makes its yearly debut: the feeling of giving is better than the feeling of receiving. Of course, it is generally said in the context of gift exchange. However, who is to say it cannot be a life lesson? Far too often, people are so very involved in themselves that they lose sight of what truly matters, such as family or even community. They believe their own problems to be far too great to waste time on helping others, which is exactly the common schema Edgar Lee Mastersrefuted in his poem Lois Spears as a part of his collection of poems, Spoon River Anthology. Lois Spears is a woman who, despite having to live without sight, is incredibly happy with how she lived her life. She dedicated herself to serving others and joyfully did so; her story did not convey an ounce of spite or bitterness. Masters ultimately wrote the poem Lois Spears in order to display how looking away from one s own hindrances or troubles and dedicating oneself to improving the lives of others can bring true happiness. Right at from the start, Masters begins Lois story with an epitaph like statement regarding who she is in relation to others: ...[d]aughter of Willard Fluke, / [w]ife of Cyrus Spears, / [m]other of Myrtle and Virgil Spears... Rather than beginning to describe herself, Masters purposefully has Lois speak about others before herself in order to show how Lois puts the needs of others before her own. She
  • 12. The Equal Pay Act Of 1963 An important federal employment law that all employees and employers should be aware of is the Equal Pay Act of 1963. As conversed in week nine of class discussion and video lecture, the Equal Pay Act of 1963 ends wage disparity based on sex. The main goal of this act was to ban discrimination in wages, benefits, and pensions based the gender of an employee in any place of employment. Women traditionally earned less than men for doing similar work. The United States has had a long history of knowledge of unequal pay between men and women, but it was not until around World War II that the problem arose and women started fighting for their rights on this issue. Women have tried passing several bills to help close this pay gap throughout the 1950 s, but ended up in failure. According to The American Association of University Women (AAUW), Surrounded by top women leaders, including several AAUW members, President John F. Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act into law on June 10, 1963 (Pearsall). Although the act was signed on June 10, 1963, it was not effective until June 11, 1964. It took a while for many organizations call attention to this practice of paying women less than men. The act gradually expanded over the next decade to include a larger segment of women into the workforce. At 3% growth, the U.S. economy is about $8 trillion smaller than it would have been had we continued to experience the average growth rate prior to Nixon severing the link between dollar and gold. That implies that median family income today would be about $70,000, or nearly 50% higher than it is today. • 14. Encounters with Angels in the Bible Essay The Bible contains many stories of people having an encounter with angels. An encounter alludes to an unexpected meeting. The word angel is a transliteration from the Hebrew word mal ak in the Old Testament (Strong s H4397) and the Greek word angelos in the New Testament (Strong s G32). Both words mean messenger and describes one who executes the plan and will of the person whom they serve. God, the Creator of all things in heaven and on the earth both the visible and invisible, created an innumerable quantity of angels. The angels were designed by Him for His glory. Some holy angels abide on earth to minister to mankind for the work of redemption. In the Old Testament, Jacob dreamed of a ladder between heaven and earth where he saw angels ascending and descending. The ascending and descending on the ladder is an affirmation and confirmation of the covenant that God made with Abraham. God said He will be with Jacob until He fulfills the Abrahamic Covenant. And behold, I am with you and will keep (watch over you with care, take notice of) you wherever you may go, and I will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done all of which I have told you. In Soul of a Citizen, author Paul Loeb tells stories of average citizens who have found unexpected satisfaction in becoming socially and sustainably active. Loeb expresses that we need to make movement from being a bystander in your own life to working to make a difference. Between Muhammad Gandhi, Grace Lee Boggs, and Muhamad Yunus, there are three very different, very solid, and very inspiring sustainably active minds that have drawn the attention of many people all over the world. Their struggles date from 1893 when Gandhi started his movement to 2015 where Muhammad Yunus and Grace Lee Boggs speak out still today. With their teachings... Given where he ended up on his subsequent journey, who knows what might be possible for the rest of us (Loeb). Loeb explains that often times the efforts of activism does not produce immediate results. In most cases victories are only partial. The most important factor in protest is perseverance. The hardest step is initiating the first phase which is just getting involved in the community. Excuses range from we re too busy to I m too busy to handle holding on to a job, paying the bills, and raising my children . Everyone is busy in their own lives. No matter how pampered you are, there are always things to do. It is understood that some people may legitimately not have time to volunteer for a cause. But there is always time to do something for the cause. Donate money, food, time, etc. whatever you can to help. Loeb explains in one of his excerpts that current times are troubled and we as a society should take advantage of them by looking at what is causing these troubles. Economic, political, and cultural decisions are all topics to question when looking at social issues within our nation and on an even broader scale, our world. Decisions that will effect social issues should respect human worth and create a sustainable relationship with the earth. Loeb quotes one his friends in his book, Pete Knutson, an Alaskan fisherman who has been forced to degrade salmon populations for commercial profit. We re living in an imperfect world, we have to make choices and judgments that aren t always easy. But you start with basic ethics, like

Sarah s growing frustration with her lack of influence in decision making ultimately fuels her ambition to go against societies norm, and decides to strip her husband s power. It is evident that Adonriam mentality is that his wife should take on a position of servitude, while he takes charge and makes the decisions. Sarah s presumed role is to be the housewife with little to no power. The conflict is resolved in the last paragraphs where Sarah moves her family into the barn while her husband was gone. Sarah is definitely the winner because once her husband comes back he does not tell her anything about it, and even tearfully says, I ll put up the partitions, an everything you want, mother. There is an absolute shift in power from Adonriam to Sarah in the end, which would also make Adonriam the loser. In Sleeping With the Enemy similar conflicts arise shortly after the movie begins. The movie saturates the viewer around the general conflict regarding the stereotypical gender roles within a marriage. To me, this image is beautiful. In the center, there is a young boy kneeling down next to a very large dog. It appears to be just transition to winter from autumn. The ground is still brown but snow is faintly falling around the boy and dog. The young boy is wearing a navy blue snow outfit with tan fur accents around the hood and in a ball on top of his hat. His eyes are closed as he is embracing the large dog sitting next to him. It seems to be cold out based on his rosy red cheeks against his very pale skin. The dog stands tall and appears to be older than the boy by the matting in the cream colored fur on his chest. He is black around the jowls as well as his eyes and ears. If the boy were to stand tall next to him, he would barely be taller. The dog s eyes are also closed and his front legs are in a wide stance. The bottom and top of the image are slightly blurred, and very dull in color. It appears to be a very cloudy day. The image itself as well as the setting is enough to raise curiosity in the story behind this photograph. There are some aspects of this image that really stood out to me. The expression of thoughts of self harm by F4 put the facilitators in the very difficult position of having to not focus on an individual and to stay focused on the group as a whole. Though it is assumed that this is a difficult task for social workers in a general sense, I am of the opinion that when a potentially serious and/or a complex issue arise that it increases the difficulty. The group member that disclosed the thought of self harm felt safe and connected, which is why she was able to disclose such intimate thoughts with the group. The fact that F4 was able to share such information is a positive reflection on the mutual aid of this group, though it may have been too much too soon or not appropriate, because of the nature of the disclosure. This is not to imply that it was easy for her to disclose what she did and it clearly was not easy for the group to hear this information. The disclosure of thoughts of self harm by F4, which she felt was a result of the stress she was under, is the first demand for work to be examined. Self harm is not to be confused with suicidal behavior; self harmers say that inflicting pain on themselves does make them feel better and it is used to make life more manageable (Thornton, 2015, p. 189). When looking at the different options available to me in Blake s volumes, Holy Thursday (both the Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience versions) demonstrated this duality clearly. The subject in Holy Thursday stays the same, however, the nature of the subject is drastically different in each poem. In both Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience, the poem titled Holy Thursday occurs on Holy Thursday. This was a special service at St. Paul s Cathedral in London, which was held on the first Thursday in May. The tradition started in 1782, and this special service was held for the poorest children in London. These children would be brought to the church by their parish officers, serving approximately six thousand children. Both poems focus on this procession of children to the cathedral, describing the state of the children and the varying attitudes towards the event itself. These varying attitudes are what divides these poems that are so similar in content to two drastically different creations. In Songs of Innocence, Holy Thursday opens with a picture of a bright, cheery, and exciting event. Blake chooses crisp and clear language to describe the

The most important development within this segment is the CELL processor, a joint development by Sony, Toshiba, and IBM. The multi core architecture of the CELL processor allows for more efficient performance in multimedia and vector calculation applications. It is designed to bridge the gap between conventional CPUs, which are made by Intel and AMD and specialized processors such as the GPUs found in graphics cards, which are made by nVidia and AMD subsidiary ATI. Components Sony makes a variety of components for third party customers. A large component of this revenue comes from the manufacture of laptop batteries, which are used by major laptop companies such as Dell and Lenovo. Over the last year, Sony recalled a significant portion of its lithium ion laptop batteries after reported instances of batteries catching fire due to an internal short circuit. Given that the research problem in this report is ambiguous, the basic research method adopted is exploratory research. The role of exploratory research is to clarify and define a problem at the initial stage of the research. Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar and Babin (2011), suggest that exploratory research is not intended to provide conclusive evidence and is conducted with the expectation that subsequent research will be required to provide such conclusive evidence. Thus, exploratory research is the foundation of the research process which will lead to descriptive research, and maybe causal research. There are many exploratory methods that can be used to conduct research. These include field studies, action research, depth interviews, focus groups and desk research. This exploratory research utilised one qualitative method to collect data, which will help gain an insight of the research problem before further research is performed. The method chosen was in depth interviews which are relatively unstructured and extensive interviews in which the interviewer asks many questions and probes for in depth answers (Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, amp; Babin; 2011). Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, and Babin, (2011) also suggest that there is no one perfect method which can meet all research objectives. Visual Aspects of Mythology During The Greco Roman Era Ancient Greece was a culture that took great pride in flawlessness, superiority and on the whole greatness. The Greeks basically molded the imaginative world with their cleverness in art, architecture, and astronomy for many cultures to come. Even though so much of the Greeksculture has been shattered, much of it still remains within society today. The Greeks were a culture that strived for excellence, and harmony. So many aspects of contemporary day life have been in some way, influenced by the Greeks. They were fascinated with the human form, which is revealed in most of their artwork. Perhaps the most common Greco roman era can be seen from the Hellenistic period. Art still served a religious function or to glorify athletes, but sculpture and painting were also used to decorate the homes of the rich. There was an interest in heroic portraits and in colossal groups, but also in humbler subjects. The human being was portrayed in every stage and walk of life. There was even interest in caricature. Landscapes and interiors appeared for the first time in both relief s and painted panels. The great Altar of Zeus from Pergamum, created by Greek artists for King Eumenes 2, was enclosed by a high podium documented with a monumental frieze of the battle between the gods and the giants. Many Hellenistic tendencies were realized in this work. The baroque style of the sculpture was characteristic of the time in its exaggeration

It was set up on Baron Reith s hands as an educative media building public s character by establishing and socializing cultural value to the society via its programs. Hitherto, BBC s work focuses on the cultural connection among the society and plays a role as its guardian rather than pays attention to the diversity among them (Curran Seaton, 2003). Besides, it also must be willing for a limited autonomy in its operation since the government has the authority to control its working mechanism. The core objection of this form of broadcasting is to serve public by providing quality information and facilitating public discourse to enforce democracy and advance civilization. In term of quality information, PSB plays a role as socio cultural agent whose duty is to perpetuate the high culture and raise public awareness as an united national entity. Furthermore, in its role as a discursive arena, PSB exists as a practice of Habermas idea of public sphere where public as a political community exercise their freedom of assembly and freedom of information to solve their social problem as well as to reach an agreement about the common good which is expected to affect the policy in a society (Hauser, 1998). To guarantee that this democratic function works well, PSB must guarantee that its operation is impartially detached from either state or market interest. In this case, BBC is a good example. The supplied energy during a 100 meter sprint or a marathon run comes at a cost, which is the production of ATP (Hill et al.). Eventually, glucoselevels in muscles begin to decrease as the activity continues, it s also thought that insufficient glucose causes tiredness (Hill et al.) . Glucose must be provided continuously in order to satisfy one s energy demands. Consequently, glucose is delivered by blood to the muscles.
