1. Improve the quality of health care.
2. Improve the management of health services.
3. Establish a database of health care organizations.
4. Reduce health care cost by focusing on increased efficiency & effectiveness of the services.
5. Provide education & consultation to health care organization, managers & health.

CRITERIA FOR ACCREDITATION

1. Report of inspection of school/ college.
2. Type of training given-G.N.M., A.N.M., B.SC. Nursing, M.SC. Nursing.
3. Date of previous inspection.
4. Recognition of school by state council-orders, number, date.
5. No. of seats sanctioned by INC per year
6. Details about staff member of teaching staff, qualification, registration number, registration valid upto, non
nursing teachers & other staff members.

7. Physical facilities available in school/ college:-class rooms, demonstration rooms,
nutrition lab, library, office for tutors & other facilities etc.
8. Separate budget for school & college.
9. Transport vehicles for clinical or field work.
10. Facilities for clinical experience, no. of beds.
11. All records maintain adequately.

professional organization , the organization
is called an accrediting agency is invited to
compare the educational quality of the
program with established standards and
criteria .

IMPORTANT POINTS IN CONDUCTING ACCREDITATION SURVEY
Following points are best to include in conducting accreditation survey:-
o Site visit & observation of patient care areas, building facilities, equipment .
o Leadership interview.
o Clinical & support staff interview.
o Patient & family interview.
o Observation of provided services & care.
o Review of written documents such as plan of location, policies, budget,
procedures, orientation, training plans & quality assurance plan management
& diagnosis services.
