The Characters Of Grendel Vs. Beowulf
Noble Grendel
In what other book is the monster, the character with more nobility? Both monsters, Grendel and
Beowulf, are brave in what they do but being brave is not all it takes to be noble. Grendel is more
noble than Beowulf because of the truth he portrays through what he believes in, the perseverance he
has when put into a dangerous situation or position, and the fidelity he shows toward his mother.
Grendel is very truthful and he sticks to what he says. If he truly believed in a concept then he would
follow through with it. An example of this is the fact that he will not kill certain animals if there is a
better way of surviving. I have never killed a deer in all my life, and never will... Cows have more

Grendel is very faithful to his mother, he trusts her all the time. Whenever he is in a dangerous
situation or he feels pain he will scream out Mama, Mama (Gardner 173). A shriek ten times as loud as
mine came blaring off the cliff...It was my mother!...She came roaring down like thunder (Gardner
27). It is not just a call sometimes it will come in handy and she will save him.
Beowulf is faithful to the one and only Hrothgar himself. He only sets out to kill Grendel because of
the relationship between them. Here to follow up on an old friendship (Heaney 380). It is explicitly
stated that the only reason that Beowulf hunted Grendel is not just because he wanted a challenge but
because he and Hrothgar are old friends.
Even though Grendel relies on his mother he does have a little bit of self reliability. The reason for this
is that when his mother does not show up to save him, he has to try and save himself, and he has many
times. It was the height of summer, harvest season in the first year of what I have come to call my war
with Hrothgar (Gardner 76). He attacks meadhalls many times and yet he never invites his mother
along. Now this maybe because she can t talk like he can but that does not justify why he can t try and
drag her out. Beowulf did fight Grendel by himself, unarmed, but this is one of the first times he did
not have help from his viking friends.
Grendel is more noble than Beowulf

Essay On Safety Health
O tema segurança do paciente tomou notoriedade desde a publicação do relatório intitulado To err is
human: building a safety health system (Errar é humano: construindo um sistema de saúde seguro),
elaborado pelo Committee on Quality of Health Care in América (Comitê para a qualidade do cuidado

The Member Of The Wedding By Carson Mccullers
Although a character of few pages and few words, I find Honey Brown to be the most compelling and
intriguing figure of The Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers. Honey Brown, the foster
brother of Berenice, drifts into the story only a handful of times, but his presence, even in the shadows
of the scenes, creates a growing curiosity for the reader and ignites a profound empathy for his
account. His quiet and stunted dialogues and solemn nature create an enigmatic yet noteworthy
narrative. His struggle with racial confinements and inability to conform leaves him without a purpose
and with a soul perpetually tormented and eventually broken. McCullers personifies the extreme
realities of Frankie s fears of entrapment and exclusion in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The size of his part in the novel reflects his role in society, minor and mostly shoved to the corner to
be forgotten. Interestingly, while he is concealing his brain from the world and rejecting his own
capacity, he hides in Big Mama s kitchen reading for so long that his nose is about to grow into [the]
book (127). To the world he portrays himself as slow and dull, but under his façade is a brilliant and
vibrant mind, which only a few are fortunate enough to glimpse. However his success in academia
was not always so hushed and he was not always so pessimistic about his own prospects. He had been
the first in his studies at the colored high school and had taught himself French as well as played the
horn (128). One could easily say he was a prodigy. However, somewhere in his transition from
adolescence to adulthood, his ambitions become disillusions and his world becomes smaller to the
point where he becomes confined to the barriers of his mind. He has so much going for him, but the
era he lives in will never acknowledge his potential for greatness. It is heartbreaking to see such a
great mind doubt himself, but the tolls of societal burdens are mercilessly detrimental. Member of the
Wedding delves into these constraints caused by societal set identities through different points in
people s lives, but only Honey, at this time, is beaten down by these woes so violently. Unlike

The Pope And The Vatican
Rebellious and Pope are two words that generally do not go together, but that is not the case for Pope
Francis. The Roman Catholic Church s new Pope, Pope Francis, has come in to power with the
ambition to transform the Vatican for the better. Will the Pope Change the Vatican? Or Will the
Vatican Change the Pope? is an article written by Robert Draper and published by national
geographic. The article explains the Popes origin and his progressive changes to the Vatican to revert
the Catholic Church to what it was meant to be, a church for the people. Dr. Fouberg s book Human
Geography: People, Place, and Culture dives into the Catholic Church, and the cultural and geographic
significance it has on the human population. Religion is a fragment of an extensive list of human
identities, it is part culture, part of a learned beliefs and values that held by individuals (Fouberg, 28).
Religion is culturally gripping prevailing priorities (Fouberg, 205). Christianity has the largest
diffusion for its cultural hearth of any of the major world religions (Fouberg, 209). Christianity
follows the same cultural hearth as Judaism until the New Testament where Jesus Christ is introduced
as the son of God (Fouberg, 217). Christianity split into two separate Christian sects in 1054 CE, one
of them being the Roman Catholic Church (Fouberg, 217). As Fouberg states in Human Geography

Pros And Cons Of Social Hierarchy Theory
This particular model is well established in today s modern communities. However, there are certain
disadvantages of the said model. It does not take into consideration social aspects such as standard of
living and the financial system as a whole. There are several other factors other than biological that are
responsible for an illness in individuals such as hierarchy and power that vastly affects a person s
health in today s world.
Hierarchy is defined as the categorization of collection of individuals in accordance with their
financial, societal and professional position in the society. Individuals are divided on the basis of race,
religion, class, ethnicity and many more factors which in turn have great impact on the health and
services provided to individuals in these distinct categories. Firstly, we will discuss social dominance
theory which was developed by Sidanius and Pratto in the year 1999. The theory describes the source
of societal hierarchies and how these classifications boost certain groups and adversely affect people
in particular groups (Moss, 2016). According to this theory, there are dominant and subordinate groups
and there exists inequality in both these groups. There are three different arrangement of hierarchy in
all developed economies on the basis of age, gender and subjective reasons such as ethnic group, race,
rank, belief and faith. There are five key determinants of this theory. To start with, governing groups
possess dominance over other minor groups. Also societal background greatly impacts these groups. It
is more prevalent in males than females and is affected by traits of people and socialization
happenings. We further discuss Karl max s theory of socialism which classifies individuals in society
into three groups namely upper, middle and lower class (Hierarchy structure, 2017). Normally known
as the Marxist Social Hierarchy, the said theory explains that the wealthiest individuals owning land
belongs to upper class, individuals who work for upper class and sells their talent in return of money
comprises of middle class. Lastly, less earning group with no property comprised the lower class.
There have been discrepancies amongst all these groups as far as health and health care

Skiing Is A Way Of Survival
As you stand at the top of a run and look down over the mountain; with twisting and turning slopes,
you feel at peace and connected with nature. This is what skiing can do for you; however, it hasn t
always been a way to get out and enjoy the mountain air. As a matter of fact, skiing used to be mainly
for survival.
Scientists have found rock art drawn by ancient civilizations in 8000 B.C. that depict people skiing.
Back in those days, it was the Scandinavians, Russians, and Altay Mountain folk that were using some
form of skis to travel vast distances and hunt; thus skiing was a way of survival. It wasn t until about
the 1860 s that Americans in Sierra Nevada started to use skis to race and have fun. After that, well the
rest is history skiing is now a significant leisure activity around the world. However, there are
important points in the history of skiing that made a considerable difference in the ski world we know
today.
It is still being debated where skiing originated, but it most likely the Tuvan s who developed skiing
within the Altay Mountains of China. Altay skis were made of wood with one end curled upward,
there were straps for your feet, and horsehide on the bottoms. The horse hair made the skis grip when
walking uphill, but then slide when going downhill. The Tuvan s also used a single pole called a
Taiyak for steering and balance. The skis were approximately 8 feet long and skier used them by
leaning back extremely far; making them gain speed quickly. This

Steroid Usage
Why do so many people use steroids when there are so many health risks and side effects? Do people

the 1930 s when Nazi scientists tried to invent drugs that would make German armies more powerful

and made illegal in 1991 (Berlow, Sports Ethics). Some side affects of steroids are baldness, high

not even care if he lost his own life. In recent years sports have become a huge industry. Just this year
Alex Rodreguez signed a ten year two hundred and fifty million dollar contract with the Texas
Rangers. This is the biggest contract in sports history. A gold medal in the Olympics can mean
millions of dollars to athletes, coaches, managers, sponsors, and even countries. It is no wonder more

to making money and a lot of it people will do just about anything.
As for physical appearance almost everyone is self conscience about how they look. For example, he

hide his body. Flexing his muscles, he lets out a sigh of dissatisfaction and disgust at the body he
hates, longing to look like the bodybuilders he admires. Steroids are enormously popular not only on

With the advancement of technology come the advanced criminals. The internet has become one of

The Movie The Legend
This movie is about Chris Kyle, who is a dedicated Navy SEAL sniper. He is referred to as The
Legend because he is one of the greatest, deadliest snipers and has killed dozens of people. American
Sniper really shows the effect war has on a person and how Post Traumatic Stress Disorder changed
his life. Throughout his four tours in war, Chris was exposed to actual and threatened death. Which is
one of the requirements to have PTSD. A lot of those situations where he experienced the actual or
threatened death were people he cared about deeply, which definitely impacted him. Not only that, but
he had killed dozens of people as well so he witnessed it all in person and had a direct experience. The
four categories of symptoms for PTSD are intrusion, avoidance, negative cognitions/mood, and
arousal/reactivity. He clearly displayed symptoms in each of these four categories especially when he
would return home to his family. There was a scene where Chris was sitting in a chair staring at a TV
that was not on but there were sounds of constant gun shots and a helicopter. He was having an
auditory hallucination, which falls under the category of intrusion. Another symptom Chris presented
was avoidance. When his wife, Taya, asked him what he wanted to do that day, he did not want to
leave the house. This was probably because he was avoiding any situation which could remind him of
the traumatic events he had experienced. Although, that was not the only thing he avoided. Each time

Self Identity In Cambio De Armas
Cambio de armas
The theme in which is constantly shown throughout the novel is the concept of self identity. Identity is
a state of mind in which one identifies his or her character traits in addition to one s idea of being.
Identity indicates one s mental, emotional and physical image of which they depict themselves to be.
It also refers to the construction of individual and society s characteristics by which we are
symbolized and recognized as to who we are. The concept of self identity is used in many books and
novels in order to tie the reader to the story. This is done in a way that the write creates a character
with a loss of self identity that will then allow the reader to relate to. The theme of identity is often

It is the belief in this existence of one s self, the assumption of all our experiences of consciousness.
We all embrace this identity that we feel is ours alone. I speak of my experiences as experienced by
me. I would seem to be talking nonsense, if I referred to myself in the plural or spoke of how the
multiplicity of me s experienced an event. Although most will submit to the existence of levels of
consciousness, we categorize those people who exhibit distinct personalities as non ordinary. All
popular theories of self identity set about the task of proving a singular self. I will attempt to analyze
the currently held theories of self identity, and consider cases where the singular self identity of
normal individuals is called into question. Psychologists seeking to clarify this discussion have
researched phenomena concerning the nature of self identity, and it s relation with consciousness.
The second concept is the Random Identities. This ties in with the first concept of divided identity
because she is unable to give one single identity to the man. The author states on page one of the
novel: Next is the man: the one, he, the nameless man who she can call by which ever name that
comes to mind; they all function the same, and they all fit him. And when he comes in the house he
answers even if she calls him Hugo, Sebastian, Ignacio, Alfredo or whatever else. She refers to him in
her mind as the nameless one .

The Book Of Genesis And The Theogony
A lot can be inferred about the historical cultures and societies of the Hebrews and ancient Greeks
based on Genesis and Hesiod s Theogony. The stories that these societies told have been passed down
for countless generations, and, in fact, are still well known today. The Book of Genesis and The
Theogony are both written to describe the creation of man and the Earth and who took part in these
creations. The differences between these creation stories directly reflect the cultures that they were
raised from, thus reading these stories, the audience is able to get insight into the way people lived in
these times and the structure of their society. The Book of Genesis and The Theogony were both
written in order to detail the creation of the Earth and man, and while they are similar in those aspects,
the many differences that are present in these stories offer a complex understanding of many cultural
and societal differences between the Hebrews and the Greeks. Genesis and The Theogony both claim
that the Earth started in a void, but both texts pursue completely different stories about how the world
came to be after the fact (Genesis 1:2, Boardman 18). In Genesis, there is only one all powerful God
present, and this one God is responsible for the creation of both man and the Earth. The Book of
Genesis begins by stating that God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1), and goes on to
describe God s process in creating nature, and eventually, man. There is one God in

The Kennewick Man
In 1996 in the Columbia River Valley a pair of teenagers came across a skeletal by the river. These
remains belonged to the Kennewick Man who died 9,000 years ago. The skeleton of the Kennewick
man is one of the most complete skeletons discovered from that era with over three hundred bones.
The skeleton sparked controversy with Native American tribes claiming him as their ancestor who
should be properly reburied. The opposing side would be the scientists claiming he is of polynesian
descent, meaning his remains should be kept in a museum. Forensic anthropologists analyzed the
skeletal for signs of his descent. By the use of forensic anthropology the bones were examined for
wounds that would show his life style, his facial structure, and signs of his diet which all gave
evidence of him being of polynesian descent. (Achenbach, 2014) Forensic anthropologist examine
skeletal remains for elements of a skeleton that can give clues to the person it belongs to. The
Kennewick man s skeleton was found in surprisingly good condition meaning the damage to the
skeleton was done in his life, not due to deterioration. The skeleton showed a projectile point lodged

Functionality
The Domestic Violence and Sex Crimes Units of the Marion County Prosecutor s Office had
numerous functional aspects to their organization. The organizational structure was one of the
strongest benefactors to the functionality of the office. The Prosecutor s Office could be seen as a
mechanistic or bureaucratic organization, meaning that the office wasis based on a hierarchy with

communicate their needs to the paralegals (the middle level authority), and the paralegals would relay
these messages to the interns, who were at the lowest level of the communication structure. There

Alcoholism Addiction And An Addiction Essay
Traditionally speaking, alcoholism is an addiction to consuming alcohol. There are some organizations
and people out there that would combat that widely accepted thought, and consider it a disease over an
addiction. What is the difference between a disease and an addiction? To determine the appropriate
label, both definitions and the actions that give them that specific definition must be examined. There
is a line that separates what is a disease and what is an addiction and there are many different forms of
each. Alcoholism is one that is categorized as both, but often it falls into the category of an addiction.
According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Addiction is characterized by the inability
to consistently Abstain, Impairment in Behavioral control; Craving; or increased hunger for drugs or
rewarding experiences, diminished recognition of significant problems with one s behaviors and
interpersonal relationships; and a dysfunctional emotional response. On the contrary the definition of a
disease, according to Oxford Dictionary, is a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or
plant, especially one that produces specific symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not
simply a direct result of physical injury. Both definitions can greatly relate to what alcoholism is and
as to why it is so closely related to both. Many believe that alcoholism is a disease. Something that

It was developed as a multirole aircraft that could replace both the F/A 18 Hornet and AV 8B Harrier
platforms with exponentially better performance in combat effectiveness, maintainability, and overall

amphibious assault ships and conduct operations similar to the Harrier s, which has been primarily
serviced by the Marines. The main similarity to Harrier missions is the STOVL capability, allowing
the aircraft to land and take off in hostile environments or when shorter landing strips are available.
When engaging enemy forces, it can preform CAS with increased effectiveness than the Harrier due to

Article Report On The Law And Safety Codes Essay
Article Summary
I selected the article Duty to Warn and Protect: Not in Texas for review, as it applies to the state in
which I reside. The article cites Texas Health and Safety Codes, based on a 1999 Texas Supreme Court
ruling that states counselors do not have a duty to warn or protect. Having a duty to warn and protect
is defined as protecting clients or others from perceived harm (Jackson Cherry Erford, 2014). An
example would be that a client tells their counselor in a confidential session that he is considering
stabbing his ex girlfriend. The duty to warn would mean the counselor should notify authorities and
the ex girlfriend thus breaking confidentiality. The duty to protect would be to admit client to a facility
for the client to be assessed for a propensity for violence towards the ex girlfriend. This became
important after a 1969 incident where a counselor, had a client expressed harm towards a girl and the
counselor contacted the authorities, yet never contacted the girl, who was subsequently killed by the
client a few months later, known as the Tarasoff v. Regents of the University of California case
(Jackson Cherry Erford, 2014).
The article Duty to Warn and Protect: Not in Texas cites the 1999 Texas Supreme court decision in the
case Thapar v. Zezulka; which stated that counselors do not have a duty to warn and protect because it
breaks client/counselor confidentiality (Barbee, Combs, Ekleberry, Villalobos, 2007). As a result of
the 1999 ruling the

Organic Foods And Organic Food
In 1980, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) took an interest in organic farming, publishing a
report titled Report and Recommendations on Organic Farming. (Organic Debate, 2014) As organic
foods have been growing rapidly in the last 20 years there has been a lot of talking about whether or
not organic foods are healthy. As people today have been eating a lot more of organic foods they are
having arguments stating that organic food is not what they say on the labels. Although people think
that organic food is not what the farmers say it is, it still helps people with there health and provides a
healthier lifestyle. In order to maintain the apparent understanding of organic food buying behaviors
of consumers, it can be helpful to examine the effect of motivating factors on both the attitude towards
organic foods and the intention to buy organic foods together with the mediation effect of attitude
towards organic foods (Cabuk, 2014).
People tend to argue on the fact of whether or not organic foods are good for them. According to Soley
s article it states that Organic foods are healthier for consumers, farmers, and the planet, says Cathy
Fichtner, category manager for chocolate, cocoa, caramel, Global Organics, Ltd. Organic production
reduces exposure to toxic and persistent chemicals in the foods we eat and for farm workers and their
families (Soley, 2015). By having this information published they are agreeing with the people who

Explain The Key Events That Played In The Civil Rights...
African Americans civil rights movement was out to achieve the end of racial segregation,
discrimination against niggas and to assure legal recognition and federal protection of the citizenship
rights. Indigenous Australians were out to achieve the same goals, the right to be able to live freely as
white Australians do.
It took numerous of individuals and big events to achieve their goals. Two events that played an
important role was Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott (1955 1956) and the Tent Embassy
(1972). These big events sparked a crucial chapter during the Civil Rights Movement in the United
States and Australia. The aborigines who took part in the Tent Embassy event wanted all Indigenous
people to be accepted as their own self and to be counted as a part of the population in Australia. Rosa
Parks incident and the Montgomery Bus Boycott on the other hand wanted to achieve the same but
smaller goal, to let black people sit wherever they want to on the buses. African Americans and
Indigenous Australians never wanted to be judged on their skin colour, beliefs or actions, they wanted
to be accepted by the whites without having to change or to be changed .

Patient Autonomy And Health Care
Patient Autonomy in Health Care
Introduction
Nursing is an all encompassing profession in which practitioners are not only proficient in technical
medical functionality, they also have the obligation to remain compassionate and respectful of patients
and as such are expected to adhere to pre established codes of ethics. Of these ethics, autonomy is of
extreme importance as it offers patients a sense of personal authority during a time where they may
feel as if their lives, or at the very least their health, is no longer under their control. Autonomy in the
context of nursing allocates the patient and often their family with the final word on the course of
treatment. The concept of patient autonomy is a highly variable subject in all fields of health care. It is
a universal concept that varies widely in its meaning and interpretation. Autonomy in its simplest form
can be defined as a state of independence or self governing (Atkins, 2006). Patient autonomy can also
be defined as the ability to make once own decisions, based on one s sound judgment. It is defined by
the American Nurses Association (ANA, 2011) as the agreement to respect another s right to self
determine a course of action; support of independent decision making. This seemingly straight
forward ethical concept is rife with difficulties when one considers potential disagreements that may
arise even when informed consent is provided, particularly among children or vulnerable people.

European Imperialism In Africa
Between the years 1870s and 1900, Africa faced imperialist aggression, diplomatic pressures, military
invasions, and the conquest and colonization by the Europeans. African societies desperately tried to
put up various forms of resistance against the attempt to colonize their countries and impose foreign
domination. Much to their effort, by the early twentieth century, much of Africa, except Ethiopia and
Liberia, had been colonized by European powers. The three three main factors that motivated the
European imperialist push into Africa where, economic, political, and social. This all developed in the
nineteenth century following the fall of the profitability of the slave trade, its abolition and
suppression, as well as the expansion of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While these were used as needed by African forces, the dominant type used depended on the political,
social, and military organizations of the societies concerned. In general, small scale societies, the
decentralized societies (erroneously known as stateless societies), used guerrilla warfare because of
their size and the absence of standing or professional armies. Instead of professional soldiers, small
groups of organized fighters with a mastery of the terrain mounted resistance by using the classical
guerrilla tactic of hit and run raids against stationary enemy forces. This was the approach used by the
Igbo of southeastern Nigeria against the British. Even though the British imperialists swept through
Igboland in three years, between 1900 and 1902, and despite the small scale of the societies, the Igbo
put up protracted resistance. The resistance was diffuse and piecemeal, and therefore it was difficult to
conquer them completely and declare absolute victory. Long after the British formally colonized
Igboland, they had not fully mastered the

Overcoming Obstacles In Valens s Life
Valens was only 17 years young when he tragically passed away he faced many difficult obstacles in
his young life as well as in his music career. He dealt with the death of his father as a young boy as
well as not having a normal childhood, a haunting nightmare, and a troubled brother. As an artist, he
dealt with being racially profiled and discriminated against. Ritchie Valens, originally Valenzuela had
to make a tough decision before he became the big star he was. To keep his father s last name or to

Julie Rocka (Accountant assistant)
Duy Trong Thai Le (Client)
Pokchat Janarawat (client)
Part 1:
Part 2:
This report is produced in order to provide clients a basic compare between the two accounting
computer system, Excel and MYOB. By doing this, the customer could choose the best accounting
software depend on the business size and its features.
_The major difference between Excel and MYOB in accounting is that, Excel is a manual system;
mean the users must input all the transactions data manually in the Excel spread sheet. If the firms
have some credit transaction, double entry may be required. Then at the end of an accounting period,
the Excel users (owners) may provide the spread sheet to accountants or someone who have
accounting background to prepare BAS for the ATO or other financial reports for stakeholders.
Unlikely, MYOB or Mind Your Own Business is a specialist accounting software that designed for
small business and is probably the best known accounting software in Australia and New Zealand.
With MYOB the users only need to input the transaction information and the system will
automatically prepare the BAS, financial report and also bank reconciliation. Moreover, MYOB is a
more complex accounting computer system compare to Excel, since it provides different functions that
help the owner to manage their business; such as payroll, inventory,

The Female Victims Are Invisible
I believe that the female victims are invisible. From the different events that I have seen growing up in
the neighbor hoods that I have been in as well as what the media presents I can strongly believe in that
statement. I can say that I have seen attempts where community and even families have tried to come
together and make a stand but it has never had enough power to where female victims have a strong
voice and to get attention or awareness they needed. When I originally saw this question the first thing
that came to my mind is a situation that I saw and heard as a kid. I can remember going over to my
grandmother s house and when I would spend the night I could hear the couple next door arguing and
even hitting each other , and I could remember waking up and telling my grandmother we have to do
something . She looked at me and said I have spoken to her and called the cops a lot of times baby. No
one is doing anything about it . From that moment on when I think or even hear of female women
victims there is no real standard being put into place for a significant change.
Reading through chapter 6 over the theories and views that have been towards female victims over the
period of years I still see the female victims are still in silence, covering, hiding, in fear and invisible.
There are attempts, regulations, and studies put into place as the years go on who see these women
and even some who have interacted and tried to help, but from my view and being a women they are

Coping Skills Analysis
I am a very anxious person. Most would not know this about me because I have been able to
implement coping skills to keep my anxiety under control. Using my coping skills has allowed me to
keep my cool. However, on the inside, I am a complete wreck. When I am encountering situations that
make me nervous, I feel as though I have to talk myself down. I know that this trait was passed down
to me from both of my parents whether it was from genetics, the environment, or both. My father was
an alcoholic when I was growing up (He has been in recovery for over 30 years) and my mother was a
workaholic. I have an older brother and running the household was left up to him and me. Having a
father that was an alcoholic made life unpredictable.

Protecting Pygmy Sloth Habitat On The Isla Escudo De Verguas
The plan to protect pygmy sloth habitat on the Isla Escudo de Verguas is to create a team to begin
gathering research to develop a Comprehensive Conservation Plan. The research gathered can be from
previous research conducted by a variety of scientists. In addition, new data should be collected on the
current population of Pygmy sloths in addition to the amount of mangroves on the island. This plan
will make sure that the endangered animals on the island are protected and ensure that the refuge
management is taking the steps to help recuperate the mangroves that have been cut. The first step
would be to gather a team to head the proposal. Some of the team members should be from the refuge
management, as well as people who are well informed on the animals that inhabit the island and
environmental information. Once the team is built, they will need to gather local fishermen and
regular visitors to the island to assess the situation and receive feedback on what they believe to be the
largest problems facing the island. With the help from the local fishermen, who are the ones that are
cutting down the pygmy sloth habitat, the refuge management team will be able to assess the needs of
the fishermen as well as the need of the animals to create a plan of action to better ensure the safety of
the island. From this research, the team can create an initial draft of a plan for the next ten or fifteen
years. The Comprehensive Conservation Plans should focus on getting data on

Government Censorship
Should governments be allowed to censor information?
Censorship has always been a controversial topic. People will always want to know the truth. The
more democratic a nation is the more information is available. In these cases governments will usually
try to moderate what information is being circulated. By definition censorship is legally defined in
Australia as the official inspection of books, journals, theatre, film, music and popular media of many
forms before release (prepublication) to ensure that they do not offend against legal proscriptions
instituted by governments (Moore, 2013). In this essay censorship will take a broader term in which it
will also encompass instances of when governments try to provide incentives of getting rid of
information, omitting or restricting access to it through other means. Many people experience
censorship whether they know it or not and it is always debated if governments should be able to
censor information. There are a lot of cases where censorship should be allowed and cases where it
should not be. This essay will highlight instances and circumstances of when a government should be
able to censor information.
Censorship should be allowed in cases that involve instances where it is to protect the public or the
nation. Information that harms the security of a country should be protected and not made available to
the public. Under this circumstance though the government should be ethical about the information
they censor and the

Transcendentalism, An American Philosophy
American philosophers during the early to mid 1800s embraced a new liberal movement known as
transcendentalism that posed a silent threat to the current social and political institutions of the time
period. Henry David Thoreau acted as the father of this new philosophy that would go on to transform
the social structure of America into what it is and is still becoming today. Transcendentalism is an
American philosophy that humankind has an innate sense of being and knowledge of the world around
them that extends beyond the tangible, physical realm that can simply be seen, heard, tasted, touched,
or felt. This idea disregards logic and reason, focusing almost entirely on intuition and imagination.
Therefore, according to 26f. Transcendentalism, An American Philosophy, a transcendentalist is a
person who accepts these ideas not as religious beliefs but as a way of understanding life relationships.
They drew the basis of their belief system from a periodical called, The Dial, which was written by a
radical feminist who pushed male and female equality in nearly all of her publications.
Transcendentalism remained entrenched in its study and discussion until Henry David Thoreau tried to
physically put it into practice ( 26f ). Henry David Thoreau was a strange, gentle, fanatic, selfish,
[dreaming], [stubborn individualist], as well as a Harvard graduate at the top of his class ( 26f.

The purpose of this exploration is to discuss how conics are used to express figurative paths for both
celestial and artificial bodies in the universe. In order to thoroughly express the significance of conics

However, the original qualities of these conics are altered to fit the orbit components.
Firstly, in the mathematical world, the foci are located outside of the ellipse, however, in terms of
space, the foci are on the inside. This is because the object being orbited, called the primary, must be
one of the focal points that the orbiter goes around. The study of the motions of space vehicles and
satellites moving under the influence of forces is called orbital mechanics. Orbital mechanics are
composed of many factors, which can be expressed through the equation of an ellipse, only called

Argument of Periapsis: the distance between orbiter and the primary (Braeunig)
Inclination: the distance between the orbital plane of the satellite and the equator of its primary

Value Of Human Life
The root of the problems that this generation is facing is centered around the value of human life and
enjoyment over all else. This self centered way of life has shaped the way that decisions are made, and
subsequently has negatively impacted the environment, nature as a whole. When major developments
impact the surrounding nature, living or nonliving, the nature s value is diminished and cannot be
regained fully, even if the developments are removed completely. If decisions are made with respectful
consideration toward the value of the nature that will be impacted and undoubtedly lost, there would
be less destruction of naturally valuable areas and organisms. However, this consideration must be
accompanied by action, for as Ed Abbey says in the film DamNation, Sentiment without action is the
ruin of the soul, meaning that thoughts and beliefs are nothing without action, and thoughts and beliefs
that are worth nothing are the demise of the human mind. A balance between the value of natural
features and human desire must be found while changing the environment, and checked consistently
during the human made feature s existence.
The intersection between nature and people is an interesting one that ought to be thought about in
careful, unique ways. The intersection cannot be forgotten, even when rational thought leads to rash
decisions. No decision regarding the change of the Earth s natural features, whether those be living or
nonliving, can be made without the

Having a background of the patients cultural orientation is very important as a nurse because
interpreting and analyzing behavior is not an easy task if one does not have any idea of the patient s

Conformity is the act of changing behavior as a result of real or imagined group pressure. Everyone at
one point has experienced this type of pressure at one point in their life. I remember this one time
when I was confirmed into doing something because everyone was doing it. This happened back in
my high school years. There was a point in the eleventh grade that I felt kind of peer pressured into
skipping school. I never really had the urge to be a bad kid and go skipping. I actually loved coming to
school. I loved learning new things I was always that kind of person. But of course I started hanging

wanted and had the desire to fit in always, I always wanted acceptance and to be popular. I honestly
regret ever going skipping. It wasn t only once that it happened. It occurred multiple times until it got

still hear it. From that point on I was always brought to school; until the day I graduated. I regret these

Studying Real Time Application On College Student For...
In this paper, we are going to develop real time application on college student for automatic detection
and recognition of student during academics, followed by display of personal information of students.
This application makes proper use of CCTV camera for real time face detection of students of
particular college. The proposed application can be divided into four major steps. In first step, each
person in the image is detected. In the second step, a face detection algorithm detects faces of each
person. In third step, we use a face recognition algorithm to match the faces of persons in the captured
image with the database of students faces which also stores personal as well as academic information
of each student. In final step, the face of student along with his/her personnel information will be
displayed on screen to the user when the image captured by CCTV camera contains any student image
of present college. The college administrator as well as faculty members can use this application to
identify students and also to distinguish students from outsiders.

  • 2. The Characters Of Grendel Vs. Beowulf Noble Grendel In what other book is the monster, the character with more nobility? Both monsters, Grendel and Beowulf, are brave in what they do but being brave is not all it takes to be noble. Grendel is more noble than Beowulf because of the truth he portrays through what he believes in, the perseverance he has when put into a dangerous situation or position, and the fidelity he shows toward his mother. Grendel is very truthful and he sticks to what he says. If he truly believed in a concept then he would follow through with it. An example of this is the fact that he will not kill certain animals if there is a better way of surviving. I have never killed a deer in all my life, and never will... Whenever he is in a dangerous situation or he feels pain he will scream out Mama, Mama (Gardner 173). A shriek ten times as loud as mine came blaring off the cliff...It was my mother!...She came roaring down like thunder (Gardner 27). It is not just a call sometimes it will come in handy and she will save him. Beowulf is faithful to the one and only Hrothgar himself. He only sets out to kill Grendel because of the relationship between them. Here to follow up on an old friendship (Heaney 380). It is explicitly stated that the only reason that Beowulf hunted Grendel is not just because he wanted a challenge but because he and Hrothgar are old friends. Even though Grendel relies on his mother he does have a little bit of self reliability. The reason for this is that when his mother does not show up to save him, he has to try and save himself, and he has many times. It was the height of summer, harvest season in the first year of what I have come to call my war with Hrothgar (Gardner 76). He attacks meadhalls many times and yet he never invites his mother along. Now this maybe because she can t talk like he can but that does not justify why he can t try and drag her out. Beowulf did fight Grendel by himself, unarmed, but this is one of the first times he did not have help from his viking friends. Grendel is more noble than Beowulf ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
• 4. The Member Of The Wedding By Carson Mccullers Although a character of few pages and few words, I find Honey Brown to be the most compelling and intriguing figure of The Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers. Honey Brown, the foster brother of Berenice, drifts into the story only a handful of times, but his presence, even in the shadows of the scenes, creates a growing curiosity for the reader and ignites a profound empathy for his account. His quiet and stunted dialogues and solemn nature create an enigmatic yet noteworthy narrative. His struggle with racial confinements and inability to conform leaves him without a purpose and with a soul perpetually tormented and eventually broken. McCullers personifies the extreme realities of Frankie s fears of entrapment and exclusion in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The size of his part in the novel reflects his role in society, minor and mostly shoved to the corner to be forgotten. Interestingly, while he is concealing his brain from the world and rejecting his own capacity, he hides in Big Mama s kitchen reading for so long that his nose is about to grow into [the] book (127). To the world he portrays himself as slow and dull, but under his façade is a brilliant and vibrant mind, which only a few are fortunate enough to glimpse. However his success in academia was not always so hushed and he was not always so pessimistic about his own prospects. He had been the first in his studies at the colored high school and had taught himself French as well as played the horn (128). One could easily say he was a prodigy. However, somewhere in his transition from adolescence to adulthood, his ambitions become disillusions and his world becomes smaller to the point where he becomes confined to the barriers of his mind. He has so much going for him, but the era he lives in will never acknowledge his potential for greatness. It is heartbreaking to see such a great mind doubt himself, but the tolls of societal burdens are mercilessly detrimental. Member of the Wedding delves into these constraints caused by societal set identities through different points in people s lives, but only Honey, at this time, is beaten down by these woes so violently. • 6. The Pope And The Vatican Rebellious and Pope are two words that generally do not go together, but that is not the case for Pope Francis. The Roman Catholic Church s new Pope, Pope Francis, has come in to power with the ambition to transform the Vatican for the better. Will the Pope Change the Vatican? Or Will the Vatican Change the Pope? is an article written by Robert Draper and published by national geographic. The article explains the Popes origin and his progressive changes to the Vatican to revert the Catholic Church to what it was meant to be, a church for the people. Dr. Fouberg s book Human Geography: People, Place, and Culture dives into the Catholic Church, and the cultural and geographic significance it has on the human population. Religion is a fragment of an extensive list of human identities, it is part culture, part of a learned beliefs and values that held by individuals (Fouberg, 28). Religion is culturally gripping prevailing priorities (Fouberg, 205). Christianity has the largest diffusion for its cultural hearth of any of the major world religions (Fouberg, 209). Christianity follows the same cultural hearth as Judaism until the New Testament where Jesus Christ is introduced as the son of God (Fouberg, 217). Christianity split into two separate Christian sects in 1054 CE, one of them being the Roman Catholic Church (Fouberg, 217). • 7. Pros And Cons Of Social Hierarchy Theory This particular model is well established in today s modern communities. However, there are certain disadvantages of the said model. It does not take into consideration social aspects such as standard of living and the financial system as a whole. There are several other factors other than biological that are responsible for an illness in individuals such as hierarchy and power that vastly affects a person s health in today s world. Hierarchy is defined as the categorization of collection of individuals in accordance with their financial, societal and professional position in the society. Individuals are divided on the basis of race, religion, class, ethnicity and many more factors which in turn have great impact on the health and services provided to individuals in these distinct categories. Firstly, we will discuss social dominance theory which was developed by Sidanius and Pratto in the year 1999. The theory describes the source of societal hierarchies and how these classifications boost certain groups and adversely affect people in particular groups (Moss, 2016). According to this theory, there are dominant and subordinate groups and there exists inequality in both these groups. There are three different arrangement of hierarchy in all developed economies on the basis of age, gender and subjective reasons such as ethnic group, race, rank, belief and faith. There are five key determinants of this theory. To start with, governing groups possess dominance over other minor groups. Also societal background greatly impacts these groups. It is more prevalent in males than females and is affected by traits of people and socialization happenings. We further discuss Karl max s theory of socialism which classifies individuals in society into three groups namely upper, middle and lower class (Hierarchy structure, 2017). Normally known as the Marxist Social Hierarchy, the said theory explains that the wealthiest individuals owning land belongs to upper class, individuals who work for upper class and sells their talent in return of money comprises of middle class. Lastly, less earning group with no property comprised the lower class. There have been discrepancies amongst all these groups as far as health and health care ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is what skiing can do for you; however, it hasn t always been a way to get out and enjoy the mountain air. As a matter of fact, skiing used to be mainly for survival. Scientists have found rock art drawn by ancient civilizations in 8000 B.C. that depict people skiing. Back in those days, it was the Scandinavians, Russians, and Altay Mountain folk that were using some form of skis to travel vast distances and hunt; thus skiing was a way of survival. It wasn t until about the 1860 s that Americans in Sierra Nevada started to use skis to race and have fun. After that, well the rest is history skiing is now a significant leisure activity around the world. However, there are important points in the history of skiing that made a considerable difference in the ski world we know today. It is still being debated where skiing originated, but it most likely the Tuvan s who developed skiing within the Altay Mountains of China. Altay skis were made of wood with one end curled upward, there were straps for your feet, and horsehide on the bottoms. The horse hair made the skis grip when walking uphill, but then slide when going downhill. The Tuvan s also used a single pole called a Taiyak for steering and balance. The skis were approximately 8 feet long and skier used them by leaning back extremely far; making them gain speed quickly. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Do people take steroids because they are not aware of all the risks? Just this year Alex Rodreguez signed a ten year two hundred and fifty million dollar contract with the Texas Rangers. This is the biggest contract in sports history. It is no wonder more and more people are striving to be the best, and will do whatever it takes to get there. When it comes to making money and a lot of it people will do just about anything. As for physical appearance almost everyone is self conscience about how they look. For example, he turns to the mirror to stare at his reflection, pushing up the sleeves to the baggy sweater he wears to hide his body. Flexing his muscles, he lets out a sigh of dissatisfaction and disgust at the body he hates, longing to look like the bodybuilders he admires. • 12. The Movie The Legend This movie is about Chris Kyle, who is a dedicated Navy SEAL sniper. He is referred to as The Legend because he is one of the greatest, deadliest snipers and has killed dozens of people. American Sniper really shows the effect war has on a person and how Post Traumatic Stress Disorder changed his life. Throughout his four tours in war, Chris was exposed to actual and threatened death. Which is one of the requirements to have PTSD. A lot of those situations where he experienced the actual or threatened death were people he cared about deeply, which definitely impacted him. Not only that, but he had killed dozens of people as well so he witnessed it all in person and had a direct experience. The four categories of symptoms for PTSD are intrusion, avoidance, negative cognitions/mood, and arousal/reactivity. He clearly displayed symptoms in each of these four categories especially when he would return home to his family. There was a scene where Chris was sitting in a chair staring at a TV that was not on but there were sounds of constant gun shots and a helicopter. He was having an auditory hallucination, which falls under the category of intrusion. Another symptom Chris presented was avoidance. When his wife, Taya, asked him what he wanted to do that day, he did not want to leave the house. This was probably because he was avoiding any situation which could remind him of the traumatic events he had experienced. Although, that was not the only thing he avoided. Each time ... It also refers to the construction of individual and society s characteristics by which we are symbolized and recognized as to who we are. The concept of self identity is used in many books and novels in order to tie the reader to the story. We all embrace this identity that we feel is ours alone. I speak of my experiences as experienced by me. I would seem to be talking nonsense, if I referred to myself in the plural or spoke of how the multiplicity of me s experienced an event. Although most will submit to the existence of levels of consciousness, we categorize those people who exhibit distinct personalities as non ordinary. All popular theories of self identity set about the task of proving a singular self. I will attempt to analyze the currently held theories of self identity, and consider cases where the singular self identity of normal individuals is called into question. Psychologists seeking to clarify this discussion have researched phenomena concerning the nature of self identity, and it s relation with consciousness. The second concept is the Random Identities. This ties in with the first concept of divided identity because she is unable to give one single identity to the man. • 15. The Book Of Genesis And The Theogony A lot can be inferred about the historical cultures and societies of the Hebrews and ancient Greeks based on Genesis and Hesiod s Theogony. The stories that these societies told have been passed down for countless generations, and, in fact, are still well known today. The Book of Genesis and The Theogony are both written to describe the creation of man and the Earth and who took part in these creations. The differences between these creation stories directly reflect the cultures that they were raised from, thus reading these stories, the audience is able to get insight into the way people lived in these times and the structure of their society. The Book of Genesis and The Theogony were both written in order to detail the creation of the Earth and man, and while they are similar in those aspects, the many differences that are present in these stories offer a complex understanding of many cultural and societal differences between the Hebrews and the Greeks. Genesis and The Theogony both claim that the Earth started in a void, but both texts pursue completely different stories about how the world came to be after the fact (Genesis 1:2, Boardman 18). In Genesis, there is only one all powerful God present, and this one God is responsible for the creation of both man and the Earth. The Book of Genesis begins by stating that God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1), and goes on to describe God s process in creating nature, and eventually, man. There is one God in ... The skeleton of the Kennewick man is one of the most complete skeletons discovered from that era with over three hundred bones. The skeleton sparked controversy with Native American tribes claiming him as their ancestor who should be properly reburied. The opposing side would be the scientists claiming he is of polynesian descent, meaning his remains should be kept in a museum. Forensic anthropologists analyzed the skeletal for signs of his descent. By the use of forensic anthropology the bones were examined for wounds that would show his life style, his facial structure, and signs of his diet which all gave evidence of him being of polynesian descent. The organizational structure was one of the strongest benefactors to the functionality of the office. The Prosecutor s Office could be seen as a mechanistic or bureaucratic organization, meaning that the office wasis based on a hierarchy with vertical communication structures. The prosecutors were the highest level of authority; who would communicate their needs to the paralegals (the middle level authority), and the paralegals would relay these messages to the interns, who were at the lowest level of the communication structure. • 18. Alcoholism Addiction And An Addiction Essay Traditionally speaking, alcoholism is an addiction to consuming alcohol. There are some organizations and people out there that would combat that widely accepted thought, and consider it a disease over an addiction. What is the difference between a disease and an addiction? To determine the appropriate label, both definitions and the actions that give them that specific definition must be examined. There is a line that separates what is a disease and what is an addiction and there are many different forms of each. Alcoholism is one that is categorized as both, but often it falls into the category of an addiction. According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Addiction is characterized by the inability to consistently Abstain, Impairment in Behavioral control; Craving; or increased hunger for drugs or rewarding experiences, diminished recognition of significant problems with one s behaviors and interpersonal relationships; and a dysfunctional emotional response. On the contrary the definition of a disease, according to Oxford Dictionary, is a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, especially one that produces specific symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not simply a direct result of physical injury. Both definitions can greatly relate to what alcoholism is and as to why it is so closely related to both. Many believe that alcoholism is a disease. • 20. Article Report On The Law And Safety Codes Essay Article Summary I selected the article Duty to Warn and Protect: Not in Texas for review, as it applies to the state in which I reside. The article cites Texas Health and Safety Codes, based on a 1999 Texas Supreme Court ruling that states counselors do not have a duty to warn or protect. Having a duty to warn and protect is defined as protecting clients or others from perceived harm (Jackson Cherry Erford, 2014). An example would be that a client tells their counselor in a confidential session that he is considering stabbing his ex girlfriend. The duty to warn would mean the counselor should notify authorities and the ex girlfriend thus breaking confidentiality. The duty to protect would be to admit client to a facility for the client to be assessed for a propensity for violence towards the ex girlfriend. This became important after a 1969 incident where a counselor, had a client expressed harm towards a girl and the counselor contacted the authorities, yet never contacted the girl, who was subsequently killed by the client a few months later, known as the Tarasoff v. Regents of the University of California case (Jackson Cherry Erford, 2014). The article Duty to Warn and Protect: Not in Texas cites the 1999 Texas Supreme court decision in the case Thapar v. Zezulka; which stated that counselors do not have a duty to warn and protect because it breaks client/counselor confidentiality (Barbee, Combs, Ekleberry, Villalobos, 2007). Although people think that organic food is not what the farmers say it is, it still helps people with there health and provides a healthier lifestyle. • 23. Patient Autonomy And Health Care Patient Autonomy in Health Care Introduction Nursing is an all encompassing profession in which practitioners are not only proficient in technical medical functionality, they also have the obligation to remain compassionate and respectful of patients and as such are expected to adhere to pre established codes of ethics. Of these ethics, autonomy is of extreme importance as it offers patients a sense of personal authority during a time where they may feel as if their lives, or at the very least their health, is no longer under their control. Autonomy in the context of nursing allocates the patient and often their family with the final word on the course of treatment. The concept of patient autonomy is a highly variable subject in all fields of health care. It is a universal concept that varies widely in its meaning and interpretation. Autonomy in its simplest form can be defined as a state of independence or self governing (Atkins, 2006). Patient autonomy can also be defined as the ability to make once own decisions, based on one s sound judgment. It is defined by the American Nurses Association (ANA, 2011) as the agreement to respect another s right to self determine a course of action; support of independent decision making. This seemingly straight forward ethical concept is rife with difficulties when one considers potential disagreements that may arise even when informed consent is provided, particularly among children or vulnerable people. Instead of professional soldiers, small groups of organized fighters with a mastery of the terrain mounted resistance by using the classical guerrilla tactic of hit and run raids against stationary enemy forces. Transcendentalism, An American Philosophy American philosophers during the early to mid 1800s embraced a new liberal movement known as transcendentalism that posed a silent threat to the current social and political institutions of the time period. Henry David Thoreau acted as the father of this new philosophy that would go on to transform the social structure of America into what it is and is still becoming today. Transcendentalism is an American philosophy that humankind has an innate sense of being and knowledge of the world around them that extends beyond the tangible, physical realm that can simply be seen, heard, tasted, touched, or felt. This idea disregards logic and reason, focusing almost entirely on intuition and imagination. Therefore, according to 26f. They drew the basis of their belief system from a periodical called, The Dial, which was written by a radical feminist who pushed male and female equality in nearly all of her publications. • 36. Value Of Human Life The root of the problems that this generation is facing is centered around the value of human life and enjoyment over all else. This self centered way of life has shaped the way that decisions are made, and subsequently has negatively impacted the environment, nature as a whole. When major developments impact the surrounding nature, living or nonliving, the nature s value is diminished and cannot be regained fully, even if the developments are removed completely. If decisions are made with respectful consideration toward the value of the nature that will be impacted and undoubtedly lost, there would be less destruction of naturally valuable areas and organisms. However, this consideration must be accompanied by action, for as Ed Abbey says in the film DamNation, Sentiment without action is the ruin of the soul, meaning that thoughts and beliefs are nothing without action, and thoughts and beliefs that are worth nothing are the demise of the human mind. A balance between the value of natural features and human desire must be found while changing the environment, and checked consistently during the human made feature s existence. The intersection between nature and people is an interesting one that ought to be thought about in careful, unique ways. The intersection cannot be forgotten, even when rational thought leads to rash decisions. No decision regarding the change of the Earth s natural features, whether those be living or nonliving, can be made without the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everyone at one point has experienced this type of pressure at one point in their life. I remember this one time when I was confirmed into doing something because everyone was doing it. This happened back in my high school years. There was a point in the eleventh grade that I felt kind of peer pressured into skipping school. I never really had the urge to be a bad kid and go skipping. I actually loved coming to school. I loved learning new things I was always that kind of person. But of course I started hanging out with the wrong group of people. Which I never should have but I wanted to be so called cool. I wanted and had the desire to fit in always, I always wanted acceptance and to be popular. I honestly regret ever going skipping. It wasn t only once that it happened. It occurred multiple times until it got out of hand and I was caught by my parents. I never heard the last of it from them even until this day I still hear it. From that point on I was always brought to school; until the day I graduated. I regret these poor decisions I made, I feel like if I wouldn t have done it I would have finished my schooling by now because I found it acceptable to skip school.
