experiences of nurses grief after patient death
Experience of Grief Following Patient Death: A Concept Analysis Karen D. Panganiban Resurrection
University Abstract This is a concept analysis on the experiences of grief of registered nurses in the
fields of oncology, pediatric ICU and adult ICU after a patient dies. The paper describes the reactions
of nurses and how they are able to cope with grief. It also discussed the available resources that they
use within their institution in response to the death of the patient. The concept analysis method that
was used was based on: epistemological, pragmatic, linguistic and logical principles. Extensive
literature search was done to review the concept mentioned. The need to recognize the grief of nurses

2009). Nurses view that it is essential to form a relationship with the patient in order to provide care
for the dying. It depends on the level of engagement of the nurse on how easily or how hard she can
cope with the lost a patient (Shorter Stayt 2009). Some nurses immersed themselves and put
themselves on the patient s shoes in order to develop that connection often times they would even
asked relatives how the patient was like when he/she was still well. The significance to the staff is also
influenced more if both the caregiver and the patient shared the same demographics and culture. On
the contrary some nurses try to distant themselves and try to avoid being too close to the patient and
the family to shield them from grief. Nurses view patient death in two ways (a). Good death and (b).
Bad death.( shorter Stayt 2009). A good death is when the nurse is prepared and knows that death is
imminent. The nurse has an idea on how the course of the treatment will be,it is therefore deemed less
traumatic for them. Bad death happens when the demise of the patient is sudden. Feelings of regret
and guilt plagues the caregiver, often wondering what could have been done to avoid death. Pragmatic
The operationalized view regarding this concept can be understood on the implication of the analysis
on nursing practice. If the nurse had a positive experience during initial death experience or support

Growing Up Of A Predominantly Poor Community And A Third...
Afika James
Final paper
Sped 704
Growing up in a predominantly poor community in a third world country like St. Vincent and the
Grenadines, my parents expressed the importance of acquiring an education as the only way out of
poverty. My mom worked hard so that she had enough money saved for us all to migrate to the United
States of America. In that instance I am sure that my story is similar to that of many other immigrants.
The myth that poor people are unmotivated and have low work ethics is sometimes still prevalent.
Poor people do not have a poorer work ethic or lower levels of motivation. Low income households
are just as concerned about children s learning as any other household. However, lack of resources and
less time to focus on homework due to multiple jobs cause parents to have less involvement in
schoolwork. After moving to the United States, having an accent that sometimes made me difficult to
understand caused to seclude myself and not participate in classrooms. Children laughed and pointed
me out. I was not an English Language Learner but my dialect made me aware of just a little part of
the world of English Language Learners in the classroom.
English language learners and ELLSEs may be similar but they are also quite different. Both are
considered to be emergent bilinguals. The students who are ELL s will most likely have trouble with
instruction in a new language, but if taught in their home language they will better be able to pass

The Pros And Cons Of Surviving A Zombie Apocalypse
Surviving is to continue to live or exist despite dangerous or life threatening situations. There are
many circumstances that could threaten the survival of a person or a group of people. Drastic
situations such as the zombie apocalypse has the potential threat to wipe out the entire human
population. Survival of the apocalypse will take an individual and a group s efforts, skills, and
determination to escape.
Situations will arise where the group will need a variety of tools, and supplies to survive and to
approach close combat. Guns are essential to surviving a zombie apocalypse. The ability to kill a
zombie from a distance is safer and than approaching the undead to perform close combat. Although a
gun seems to be the best method of destruction to a zombie, the weapon also brings some drawbacks,
such as the noise. A gunshot will attract other zombies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although it s not apparent that a zombie apocalypse will happen or even when it may happen, It is
always best to prepare for the worst. Many people believe that if the apocalypse were to occur then the
government would protect them during a tragic event. People do not fear or prepare for the Zombie
apocalypse because the zombies are too slow and not intelligent enough to take over the human
population (Hill, Why the Zombie Apocalypse Wouldn t Happen).
Some people believe that they are also too skilled to be killed by the undead, people believe they
would be able to protect themselves if they were to come into contact with a zombie. The people that
do not believe the zombie apocalypse could happen, they should be prepared if it were to happen.
People prepare for tornadoes and floods because there might be a natural disaster, so this is not a
different any different from one of those natural disasters. The zombie apocalypse may sound
extravagant but it may occur just like a tornado or flood. It is best to be over prepared than not

Hamlet Rough Draft
Throughout the play, Hamlet shows many examples of being an indecisive person and being unable to
do anything he wants to, as if something stops him. An example would be in act five, when he decides
to confess his love for Ophelia on her grave. He took too long to tell Ophelia or anyone for the matter
about his love for her. Another example would be his mother remarrying, and Hamlet not being able to
confess his true feelings about King Claudius being his new father. In the first four acts, Hamlet goes
on about his life being miserable and in some kind of melancholy mood. He can t find a way to deal
with it, so he keeps all of his negative feelings to himself. This depressed funk he is in interferes with
his will to act upon things that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although Hamlet shows himself as indecisive and insecure, towards the end of the story he does show
some act of courage; enough to finally go and kill King Claudius. At first, he finds himself
procrastinating at the matter, because he comes up behind King Claudius while he s praying. He
originally planned on killing him right then and there, but wait! Hamlet stops and lets his inner coward
win over yet again. After a series of deep thoughts, he does decide to kill his uncle, and realizes that he
must go through with his plan quickly, before Hamlet himself is killed.
Thus conscience does not make cowards of us all;/ And thus the native hue of resolution/ Is sicklied o
er with the pale cast of thought;/ And enterprises of great pith and moment,/ With this regard, their
currents turn away,/ And lose the name of action. Hamlet here combines some themes of this play:
death and life, the connection between thought and action. In act five scene five, he goes into Claudius
room to kill him. Like the last time he went to kill him, he was on his knees praying. Why send him to
Heaven when he should go to Hell? His father wasn t given a chance to repent his sins before he was
murdered, so why should King Claudius? Hamlet thinks about this for a minute, and decides to wait
for a more reasonable

How Did Henry Ford Change The Automobile Industry
In 1863, Henry Ford was the first surviving son born to William and Mary Ford, who owned a farm in
Dearborn, Michigan. When Henry Ford was growing up his dad gave him a watch to tinker around
with. He had taken his father s watch apart and put it back together so many times that by the time he
was only 15 Ford was the unofficial watch repairman in his neighborhood. It was his first curiosity
and interest in engineering that led him to designing the first automobile for the common man. Ford
grew up on a farm in Dearborn, Michigan and would have kept working on the farm all of his life but
when his mother died in 1876, he made up his mind because his love for his mother was the only thing
really keeping him at the farm. Then when Ford was only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But he did know what Henry Ford wanted done. And he did it. Bennett s power came from Henry. The
only person who might have had the power to stop Bennett was Henry s son, Edsel, who was president
of the company. But Edsel himself was fighting Henry and his unwillingness to change. Bennett s
power in the company continued to grow. His violence against the union of automobile workers also
grew. The Ford Motor Company did not agree to negotiate with the union until 1941. Henry Ford
accepted an agreement. If he had not, his company would have lost millions of dollars in government
business. In 1943, Edsel Ford died. With Edsel gone, Henry again became president of the Ford Motor
Company. It was difficult to know if Henry or Harry Bennett was running the company. America was
at war. And Henry was eighty years old, too old to deal with the problems of wartime production. And
Bennett knew nothing at all about production. So Henry s grandson, also Henry Ford, was recalled
from the Navy to run the company. Young Henry s first act was to dismiss Harry Bennett. Old Henry
Ford retired from business. His thoughts were in the past. He died in his sleep in 1947, at the age of
eighty three. Henry Ford was not the first man whose name was given to an automobile. But his name,
more than any other, was linked to that machine. And his dream changed the lives of millions of
people. Some still wonder if Henry Ford was a simple man who seemed difficult or a

Integrative Research On Patients With Venus Leg Ulcers
Integrative Review of Research on Patients with Venus Leg Ulcers
In the world of medicine, evidence base practice has been a great strength to show how through
research we can provide better quality care to our patients. Evidence base practice can be defined as
the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the
care of the individual patient. It means integrating individual clinical expertise with the best available
external clinical evidence from systematic research ( Overview Introduction to Evidence Based
Practice LibGuides at Duke University Medical Center , 2016).
There are many questions that one has to come into conclusion when doing research and that is the
validity of that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this review, we will look at three research articles that explore the effect on mental health and
disease perception in patients with Venus Leg ulcers and the effect it can have on disease management
and recurrences of these ulcers. This topic is very important for nursing because health care costs are
on the rise, and the decrease in reimbursements from Medicare based readmissions.
The goal in nursing is that we must prevent these types of patients, from being readmitted into the
hospital. We need to focus on ways to help these patients manage their leg ulcers at home with the
proper support and follow up care and by addressing the psychological effect of the leg ulcers it may
help these patients with their self esteem and body image.
Breakdown
In all of the three articles, the research authors were qualified to perform the research concerning
Venus Leg Ulcers (VLU). These authors worked in a University setting in Australia and Liverpool and
having credentials at the level of a PhD, CNS, and BA in nursing. In the research of Examining factors
that influence... Venus disease (Miller, Kapp, Donohue, 2012), their focus was the relationship
between education and health promoting behaviors based on patients whom participated in e learning
educational sessions.
This research was a quantitative research; the patients that participated on the research received a pre

Leonardo Da Vinci And The Last Supper
Matthew Greiner
Artist Project
8/2/15
Leonardo Da Vinci is most famous for the Mona Lisa and his countless inventions. He was many
things, an inventor, an artist and a scientist. Here, we are going to mostly talk about his artist
side(Although, personally i would rather write about his inventor side) His two most commonly
known paintings were Mona Lisa and The Last Supper . Two wonderful pieces of art by an amazing
artist. he was born on April 15 1452 in Vinci, Italy, died May 2 1519. He heavily influenced the
renaissance era and is still influencing us today.
At an early age, Leonardo da Vinci moved to Florence, where he apprenticed with the painter and
sculptor Verrochio. Da Vinci s brilliance was obvious even at this early stage in his life. He often
experimented with different artistic forms and techniques. Being surrounded by Italian art, he often
used oils in his paintings . His work sparked a new style of art in Italy. In 1481, at the age of 30, da
Vinci moved to Milan to work for the Duke of Milan. Although relatively few of da Vinci s paintings
and sculptures survive, two of his extant works are among the world s most well known and admired
paintings. The first is da Vinci s The Last Supper, painted during his time in Milan, from about 1495 to
1498. A oil mural on plaster, The Last Supper was created for the city s Monastery of Santa Maria
delle Grazie. Also known as The Cenacle, this work measures about 15 by 29 feet and is the artist s

Economic History of Countries
1. Are there any hidden assumptions or price rigidities in the country or countries that might inhibit
market force indicators from revealing the true economic health of the country, thereby either
preventing government policy actions from correcting the problems or otherwise making them
ineffective and counterproductive? This is absolutely the case. Prior economic histories of countries
around the world have proven that there are general results that can be expected from a given action or
series of actions, but this does not always hold true. The current state of affairs in the United States is
a glistening example of that. The groundwork and root statistics of the United States economy circa
February 2013 are pretty good, but jobless rates are still too high and GDP growth is anemic to
nothing. There are two commonly attributable reasons for that. The first is that businesses are being
very conservative with their funds. They re not investing and spending the way they usually would
because of the uneven and unpredictable conditions that are seen with the federal government, the
level of spending in general and the wider market.
The second primary reason that the economy is seemingly stuck in low gear is because consumer
spending is way down, just as home values are way down, and this has led to a much higher savings
rates rather than consumers making purchases discretionary and high ticket items in general.
What this leads to is that even if the government of the United

When Is Animal Testing Wrong
Every year, ten to one hundred million animals are tested on. Rats and mice were two thirds of that
total. In addition to that there are one hundred and eighty thousand dogs, fifty five thousand cats, five
hundred thousand rabbits, a similar number of guinea pigs, and sixty thousand primates. With these
numbers why still test on animals? Animal testing needs to stop. It is wrong. These animals are dying
from neglect and harsh conditions. Animal testing is not even one hundred percent accurate! People
have talked about the pain and the conditions they had lived in during the breeding experiments during
World War Two. Again, why is animal testing still a thing?
In just one case of animal testing over 30 primates are dead. The primates ... Show more content on

However, people can. During World War Two Nazi physician Josef Mengele did experiments on
twins. These twins were interviewed and talked about what they endured. Giving blood and
submitting to X rays and injections were daily options to death, even though most, if the twins would
eventually die painful deaths. These people can talk about what it was like to be poked, prodded, and
used. They felt shame that they had survived not because they were strong, but because they were all
freaks of nature One survivor said that after all these years he cannot reconcile his experiences.
Animals are in the same predicament except, they can t tell us their pain or talk about what happens.
These people were in the same place as the animals. If we won t do it to people why are we doing it to
animals?
In conclusion, animal testing is wrong and it needs to stop. These animals are dying from things that
can easily be avoided. The animals that are tested on don t always bring accurate results. People have
talked about their experience with being tested on, yet we continue to use animals. These animals are
innocent and most of them only know life I m the testing facility. That is no way the

Courage In Elie Wiesel s Masterminds
The definition of courage is The ability to do something that frightens one . Courage is important
because it helps you get through hard times, or times where you need strength. In the book,
Masterminds, two of the main characters face many challenges. Tori and Eli had to be courageous to
help them discover the truth about their town and escape with the others. Tori and Eli have to take out
barriers keeping them in their town and climb walls to find out what s happening in their town. While
doing all this, they all had to keep it a secret. That might have been the hardest thing they could do.
Based on evidence I found in the book, Eli and Tori have to be courageous at many times, but all
different from each other Eli has many challenges throughout

2016 Outlook For Automotive M A
The 2016 Outlook for Automotive M A
The easy money policy of the Federal Reserve and the cash swollen balance sheets of corporations
and private equity firms alike contributed to an explosion of deal making in 2015. Long term growth
in vehicle production and the positive outlook for vehicle sales over the next five years have made
automotive one of the leading sectors for M A. We expect deal activity in the automotive sector to
remain strong during 2016, but to taper off from 2015 levels. The biggest factor that will suppress deal
activity this year is the impending interest rate increase by the Federal Reserve. Other deal squelching
factors include geopolitical instability (e.g., in the Middle East and Russia) and the relative scarcity of
companies that can be purchased at bargain prices.
Favorable Conditions Exist for Automotive M A
Even though macroeconomic factors will have a chilling effect on deal activity, automotive is likely to
remain one of the hottest sectors for M A. During its resurgence over the past five years, the
automotive industry has been highly profitable. In addition, the growth prospects for the industry are
favorable, especially in light of the overall low growth economic environment. Despite the recovery,
economic growth in the U.S. and overseas has been stagnant. Average GDP growth in the U.S. over
the past five years is at 2.4 percent. Other leading world economies such as Japan, Germany, and the
United Kingdom have likewise experienced

Pros And Cons Of Socrates Dialog
Option of dialog, which can be recognized as typical for Socrates, consists of three parts:
1. Socrates formulates a question, for example, what is virtue, justice, truth or beauty. Then Socrates is
trying to find the interlocutor, able to support the debate, and which believes that he knows the answer
to this question.
2. Socrates points to the contradictions in the arguments of the interlocutor and, in the process of
discussion, refute answers his interlocutor.
3. Dialogue is not conducted in order to convey to the interlocutor or interlocutors the right answer,
but in order to encourage the participants to independent search response.
Strictly speaking, this option to communicate with their students, is in some ways the legacy of

The Good Mother By Ellen Cronan Rose
The idea of Mother Earth is extremely empowering for women; most women believe that, right? Ellen
Cronan Rose finds the idea of mother earth tremendously unempowering. Rose writes in her article
The Good Mother: from Gaia to Gilead , that the imagery of mother earth is deeply problematic and is
harmful to the feminist cause. This is a shocking view considering that most women don t seem to
have a problem with that idea. Ellen Cronan Rose states that the mother earth metaphor is harmful to
the way women are viewed in society because it perpetuates negative stereotypes against women, it
views the earth and women primarily as producers, and it overlooks the fact that both men and women
are connected to nature. She goes in depth into how mother earth imagery can impact women.
The first issue that Rose has with the mother earth image is that it appears to feed into male
stereotypes for women. She quotes a New Age article that states: The Earth is currently terrified. Now,
that s a shocker, isn t it? Great big Earth Goddess...The Big Lady quaking in her well worn earth
boots...She scared. She needs some powerful comforting. (Bagley and McIntosh 221). Language like
this shows that some people connect women with weakness, and that the earth and women need a
strong man to save them. This goes to show that while some women may be empowered by the idea of
a mother earth, others can abuse that idea and twist it into something that is oppressive. There are still
sexist people out

How Is Miranda A Dynamic Character
There are many characters in the book Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer, that have changed
Miranda the protagonist. Which make Miranda a dynamic character. A dynamic character is a
character that changes over the course of the story. One character that has changed her is Dan. When
they were at the pond they decided to become a couple. Ever since that Miranda started sneaking out

she got mad. If Miranda wouldn t ever had met Dan she probably wouldn t have snuck out because
there wouldn t be anyone for her to see. But since Miranda and Dan broke up it s kind of her fault
because she lost another person, she can t see her friends from school or other people in the

Nick Tannur A Concert Analysis
On Friday, February 27th I attended the Ball and Chain Quartet featuring Jesse McGinty on the tenor
sax, Nick Tannura on guitar/composer, Derek Fairholm on organ, and Aaron Gluedcant on drums. I
approached them before the first set to see if I could ask them questions in between sets, and they
were very receptive to the idea. The bars setup allowed the music to reverberate, and the quartet filled
the space quite well. The overall feel of the local captures a little piece of history in Miami that goes
back as far back as 1935 to when the club was first opened. Over the next two decades legendary
artists of the day graced that stage, including Count Basie, Billie Holiday, and Chet Baker. The
ambiance was very relaxed with trendy, talkative patrons chatting over tapas and drinks. Throughout
the entire night the musicians gave a stellar performance. Each soloist perfectly emitted the music s
feelings. Even when there was not a solo, each musician played with an enormous amount of energy.
The first half was filled with noteworthy pieces. The quartet warmed up the audience with All of Me.

Masculinity And Women
What does it mean to be male or female? To you, masculinity is probably playing sports, drinking beer
while watching football games, and wearing a suit and tie. Masculinity is probably short hair and
bulging muscles. To you, femininity is probably dressing up in fancy dresses and jewelry, putting on a
face of makeup, and going to the nail salon. Femininity is probably long, flowing hair and a slender
body. This is not the truth, however. These images have been fed to us by society since the day we
were born. Society has created these idealistic men and women. A world in which the men go to work
at the factory and the women stay home with the children. Gender roles have been forced on almost
everything in life by society. From clothes to jobs, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whis is it considered humorous when men dress up as women or women dress up as men? Why is it
considered wrong for a person of a certain gender to wear the clothing of another? Why is it that these

These innocent actions are perceived as disgusting and wrong in the eyes of society. The arrogance of
society has prevented us from pursuing something that would guarantee happiness. They would rather
ridicule us than allow us to disturb their perfect little world. Thousands of us hide away in the
shadows of anxiety instead of revealing our true self because we know how society would react. They
would reject us and isolate us until we revert back to a state of reservation. There is still have hope,

Point Of Literature Essay
The point of literature
Personally, I think the point of literature is entirely subjective. Even the definition of literature can be
interpreted differently. In class just now, it was defined as written works with artistic value, which I
agree with to some extent, but then again, what does and doesn t constitute as artistically valuable is
also subjective. I feel like I m on a fast track to my history and philosophy class here, being all like
everything is subjective, nothing is real . The point, the purpose, the goal of literature can be so many
things. In earlier human evolution, the Homo Sapiens ability of more advanced communication than
that of other animals, the way we evolved to understand and communicate not only the tangible reality
of our surroundings (after all, the Neanderthal could do this too), but also perceive and deal in
hypotheticals and what s referred to as the imaginary reality the capability to believe in made up

Thor and Loki. While most people in the world are more familiar with the beliefs of the Ancient
Greeks, Norse Mythology is one of the most overlooked, interesting, and diverse forms of mythology
in the world. Norse Mythology was started by the Vikings and carried across the world by them. The
earliest known accounts of Norse Mythology came from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many deities/figures in Norse mythology. Such as, giants, gods, supernaturals, and humans.
One of the most important figures is Ymir. He was a brutal frost giant, created out of ice. He created
every giant, who later created the gods. Two kings of the giants are Thrym and Skymir. Thrym is king
of the frost giants. He is most famously known for using Mjolnir, Thor s hammer as ransom for the
goddess, Freyja. Skymir is the king of Jotunheim. He is known for being an illusionist, and tricking
Thor. Most people only know one or two figures of Norse mythology. Even though there are so many
more. Like, Buri the 1st god created. He is the father of Bor, and grandfather of Odin. He is said to
have come into the worlds, by the cow Audhumla. She is said to have licked him free from inside a
block of ice. There are no known accounts of who his wife is. Odin is the son of Bor and Bestla and
ruler of Asgard. He is the god of all wisdom and only has one eye. He gouged out the other one. His
wife s name is Frigg. Frigg is an Aesir goddess and wife of Odin. She is the mother of Balder and
hold, Queen of Asgard, and goddess of foreknowledge. Thor is one of the most widely known Norse
gods, thanks to Marvel s movies and comic books. He is the son of Odin and Earth, his wife s name is
Sif and he is the god of thunder. He is known for being fierce and fighting a lot and his magic hammer
Mjolnir. Loki is another widely known god. He is known for his shape shifting

Hyperhidrosis Research Paper
It is normal to sweat when you are hot, being physical active, or feeling anxious. Sweating is a
necessary function for your body. However, hyperhidrosis is when you sweat too much or excessively.
Although hyperhidrosis is not dangerous, it can make you feel embarrassed and affect your social
interactions. There are two kinds of hyperhidrosis: Primary hyperhidrosis. This is the more common
type of hyperhidrosis. The sweating usually localizes in one part of your body, such as your
underarms, or a few areas, such as your feet, face, armpits, and hands. Secondary hyperhidrosis. This
type affects your entire body. CAUSES The cause of your hyperhidrosis depends on the kind you
have. Primary hyperhidrosis may be caused by having sweat

The Streets Of The Crowd
Through various types of social gatherings, such as concerts and riots, our society is dominated by a
vast variation of crowds, where some of these crowds bring out Georges Bataille s definition of
animality in the humanity that is engaged in the crowds. There are a multitude of types of crowds,
from open crowds to invisible crowds to double crowds. As stated by Elias Canetti, the dominating
two kinds of crowds in our world are the open and the closed crowd. An open crowd is defined by its
ability to continuously grow. Once the growth of the crowd comes to a stop, the open crowd
disintegrates. A closed crowd is defined by having a boundary, it accepts its limitations, and puts an
emphasis on permanence. Although the closed crowd is an extremely common and prevalent form of
crowd, the truest and purest form is the open crowd. All crowds carry a dichotomy of fascination and
attraction versus fear and repulsion, not unlike Rudolf Otto s mysterium tremendum. The different
crowds are characterized by their ways of discharge, destructiveness, and eruption (Canetti, 17 22). In
a crowd, those who are engaged free themselves from societal constructions of difference such as
class, race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality, among other constructs. Dropping all notions of self, the
engaged allow themselves to become one with fellow participants. The crowd is also characterized by
its ability to find pleasure in destructiveness. The crowd is attracted to the noise and images of

College Energy Drinks
The consumption of energy drinks is common throughout college students for many reasons, such as a
need for energy while studying and working on major projects. Plus, now that they are gaining
popularity, these issues are getting worse ...since the 1997 debut of Red Bull. More than 500 new
energy drinks were launched worldwide in 2006 and beverage companies are reaping the financial
rewards of the 5.7 billion dollar energy drink industry (Malinauskas 2). Energy drinks have certainly
grown in the past decade, causing college students to take advantage of this phenomenon. Although,
they need to realize the long term effects they have on their bodies, especially when using them to stay
awake.
There are many reasons that college students consume

What Are Benedict Arnold s Mistakes
Benedict Arnold V was born in the year of 1741 on the 14th of January in Norwich, Connecticut. His
mom, Hannah Arnold was a wealthy women and married his dad, Benedict Arnold III a successful
merchant and sea captain. Benedict had five brothers and sisters, but only one lived to be an adult.
Benedict Arnold V went to a private school until the age of 13, because of his dad s mistakes. His dad
made some bad business deals, which caused him to start drinking a lot and then their money started
to deplenish. He was forced to practice being a apothecary. Benedict Arnold V didn t think things
through and was a daredevil, so in 1757, when he was 16 years old he enlisted to fight in the French
and Indian War. He later left when he was 18 to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was accused by his enemies that he had poor behavior in the march through Maine. Arnold also got
accused of incompetence on Lake Champlain. On February of 1777, Congress promoted five other
brigadier generals all below Arnold in rank to the rank of major general ( a rank above Arnold
Benedict s rank). E.W.B. states that, only Washington s pleas kept Arnold from resigning from the
army. He saw an opportunity to get promoted when he heard of a British attack on American supply
stations in Danbury, Connecticut. He gathered a local militia and rushed to stop the British, although
when he got there it was too late to stop the destruction of the supplies, he did manage to make the
British flee. The Congress appreciated what he had done and on May 2nd he got promoted to major
general, but Arnold was still below the other five that got promoted in rank. Benedict was charged of
stealing property and goods from Montreal merchants, when the Canadian campaign was happening.
He was later cleared of the charge, but he was so mad that he decided to resign from the army on July
1777. Washington pleaded with Benedict to rejoin the army, because he needed his

What Does Luck Or Opportunity Mean
Luck or Opportunity, what does this term really mean? It s quite a tough phrase to define, so i ll take
time to explain. Luck or Opportunity, can have various meanings to different people, but I think it
means exactly as it says. The phrase is basically describing one s gifts from life (or blessings as some
may say), and their success. It s dealing with the common good of people and things happening
around us. The meaning of the phrase is extremely universal to some but for me it s a good thing.
Luck or Opportunity? Would you really use this phrase in relations to something bad, or horrible?
Personally I wouldn t, the phrase is more like something that would be walking into work and getting
promoted just for being the 23rd person to walk

Introduction
Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is a compound present in every body tissue. It has a wide variety of
chemical structures. The structure diversity depends on the part of the body ALP occurs (University of
California San Francisco Medical Center, 2009). ALP contains three metal ions, two Zinc and one
Magnesium, on each active site. This makes it a very active enzyme (Department of Molecular

Phonological Process Disorder
A phonological process is a typical pattern that all young children use when developing their speech.
The child s brain creates rules to simplify speech sounds and make words easier to say. As children
grow older, they outgrow these patterns on their own and eventually, their speech becomes intelligible.
A phonological process disorder is when a child continues to exhibit these patterns past the age
expected for them to disappear. Phonological processes consist of syllable structure processes,
substitution process, and assimilation processes. Syllable structure process focuses on how the child
pronounces certain syllables in a word by adding, repeating, or omitting a syllable. Unstressed syllable
deletion is a multisyllabic word. When saying

Ancient Egypt And The Egyptian Empire
Have you ever wondered how Ancient Egypt helped shape the world today? Ancient Egyptians were a
group of folks who were heavily influenced by religion. They feared dying anywhere but Egypt. The
Egyptian Empire held a fascinating and very distinctive culture. Being one of the world s most
advanced cultures and creating tons of wealth is what separated them from everybody else. Between
the outstanding artwork, teaching methods, and amazing pyramids is what helped their society
advance altogether. No other civilization of the ancient world history had such a popular appeal and
none as important as human society and its organization. Egyptians have made great steps in shaping
the world we all know today, which have made studying their culture and society easier than some
previous historical eras.
First and foremost, Ancient Egypt was structured in the form of a pyramid. The top of the pyramid of
course was the gods. These gods included Ra, Osiris, and Iris, and according to the people of Egypt,
these gods controlled almost the entire earth. Leaders in Egypt were called pharaohs so they were
believed to be Gods in human form which is amazing. The ruler in status were powerful nobles and
priests. Only nobles could hold government posts and in those positions they profited from tributes
paid to the pharaoh. Priests were responsible for pleasing the gods. While soldiers fought in wars or
quelled domestic uprisings. When there was no war to fight, the soldiers supervised

Panganiban Resurrection University Abstract This is a concept analysis on the experiences of grief of registered nurses in the fields of oncology, pediatric ICU and adult ICU after a patient dies. The paper describes the reactions of nurses and how they are able to cope with grief. It also discussed the available resources that they use within their institution in response to the death of the patient. The concept analysis method that was used was based on: epistemological, pragmatic, linguistic and logical principles. Extensive literature search was done to review the concept mentioned. The need to recognize the grief of nurses after patient death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2009). Nurses view that it is essential to form a relationship with the patient in order to provide care for the dying. It depends on the level of engagement of the nurse on how easily or how hard she can cope with the lost a patient (Shorter Stayt 2009). Some nurses immersed themselves and put themselves on the patient s shoes in order to develop that connection often times they would even asked relatives how the patient was like when he/she was still well. The significance to the staff is also influenced more if both the caregiver and the patient shared the same demographics and culture. On the contrary some nurses try to distant themselves and try to avoid being too close to the patient and the family to shield them from grief. Nurses view patient death in two ways (a). Good death and (b). Bad death.( shorter Stayt 2009). A good death is when the nurse is prepared and knows that death is imminent. The nurse has an idea on how the course of the treatment will be,it is therefore deemed less traumatic for them. Bad death happens when the demise of the patient is sudden. Feelings of regret and guilt plagues the caregiver, often wondering what could have been done to avoid death. Pragmatic The operationalized view regarding this concept can be understood on the implication of the analysis on nursing practice. If the nurse had a positive experience during initial death experience or support they don t feel devastated and traumatized they carry that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Afika James Final paper Sped 704 Growing up in a predominantly poor community in a third world country like St. Vincent and the Grenadines, my parents expressed the importance of acquiring an education as the only way out of poverty. My mom worked hard so that she had enough money saved for us all to migrate to the United States of America. In that instance I am sure that my story is similar to that of many other immigrants. The myth that poor people are unmotivated and have low work ethics is sometimes still prevalent. Poor people do not have a poorer work ethic or lower levels of motivation. Low income households are just as concerned about children s learning as any other household. However, lack of resources and less time to focus on homework due to multiple jobs cause parents to have less involvement in schoolwork. After moving to the United States, having an accent that sometimes made me difficult to understand caused to seclude myself and not participate in classrooms. Children laughed and pointed me out. I was not an English Language Learner but my dialect made me aware of just a little part of the world of English Language Learners in the classroom. English language learners and ELLSEs may be similar but they are also quite different. Both are considered to be emergent bilinguals. The students who are ELL s will most likely have trouble with instruction in a new language, but if taught in their home language they will better be able to pass ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many circumstances that could threaten the survival of a person or a group of people. Drastic situations such as the zombie apocalypse has the potential threat to wipe out the entire human population. Survival of the apocalypse will take an individual and a group s efforts, skills, and determination to escape. Situations will arise where the group will need a variety of tools, and supplies to survive and to approach close combat. Guns are essential to surviving a zombie apocalypse. The ability to kill a zombie from a distance is safer and than approaching the undead to perform close combat. • 5. Hamlet Rough Draft Throughout the play, Hamlet shows many examples of being an indecisive person and being unable to do anything he wants to, as if something stops him. An example would be in act five, when he decides to confess his love for Ophelia on her grave. He took too long to tell Ophelia or anyone for the matter about his love for her. Another example would be his mother remarrying, and Hamlet not being able to confess his true feelings about King Claudius being his new father. In the first four acts, Hamlet goes on about his life being miserable and in some kind of melancholy mood. He can t find a way to deal with it, so he keeps all of his negative feelings to himself. Although Hamlet shows himself as indecisive and insecure, towards the end of the story he does show some act of courage; enough to finally go and kill King Claudius. At first, he finds himself procrastinating at the matter, because he comes up behind King Claudius while he s praying. He originally planned on killing him right then and there, but wait! Hamlet stops and lets his inner coward win over yet again. After a series of deep thoughts, he does decide to kill his uncle, and realizes that he must go through with his plan quickly, before Hamlet himself is killed. Thus conscience does not make cowards of us all;/ And thus the native hue of resolution/ Is sicklied o er with the pale cast of thought;/ And enterprises of great pith and moment,/ With this regard, their currents turn away,/ And lose the name of action. Hamlet here combines some themes of this play: death and life, the connection between thought and action. In act five scene five, he goes into Claudius room to kill him. Like the last time he went to kill him, he was on his knees praying. Why send him to Heaven when he should go to Hell? His father wasn t given a chance to repent his sins before he was murdered, so why should King Claudius? Hamlet thinks about this for a minute, and decides to wait for a more reasonable ... When Henry Ford was growing up his dad gave him a watch to tinker around with. He had taken his father s watch apart and put it back together so many times that by the time he was only 15 Ford was the unofficial watch repairman in his neighborhood. It was his first curiosity and interest in engineering that led him to designing the first automobile for the common man. The only person who might have had the power to stop Bennett was Henry s son, Edsel, who was president of the company. But Edsel himself was fighting Henry and his unwillingness to change. Bennett s power in the company continued to grow. His violence against the union of automobile workers also grew. The Ford Motor Company did not agree to negotiate with the union until 1941. Henry Ford accepted an agreement. If he had not, his company would have lost millions of dollars in government business. In 1943, Edsel Ford died. With Edsel gone, Henry again became president of the Ford Motor Company. It was difficult to know if Henry or Harry Bennett was running the company. America was at war. And Henry was eighty years old, too old to deal with the problems of wartime production. And Bennett knew nothing at all about production. So Henry s grandson, also Henry Ford, was recalled from the Navy to run the company. Young Henry s first act was to dismiss Harry Bennett. Old Henry Ford retired from business. He was many things, an inventor, an artist and a scientist. Here, we are going to mostly talk about his artist side(Although, personally i would rather write about his inventor side) His two most commonly known paintings were Mona Lisa and The Last Supper . Two wonderful pieces of art by an amazing artist. he was born on April 15 1452 in Vinci, Italy, died May 2 1519. He heavily influenced the renaissance era and is still influencing us today. At an early age, Leonardo da Vinci moved to Florence, where he apprenticed with the painter and sculptor Verrochio. Da Vinci s brilliance was obvious even at this early stage in his life. He often experimented with different artistic forms and techniques. Being surrounded by Italian art, he often used oils in his paintings . His work sparked a new style of art in Italy. In 1481, at the age of 30, da Vinci moved to Milan to work for the Duke of Milan. Although relatively few of da Vinci s paintings and sculptures survive, two of his extant works are among the world s most well known and admired paintings. The first is da Vinci s The Last Supper, painted during his time in Milan, from about 1495 to 1498. • 9. Economic History of Countries 1. Are there any hidden assumptions or price rigidities in the country or countries that might inhibit market force indicators from revealing the true economic health of the country, thereby either preventing government policy actions from correcting the problems or otherwise making them ineffective and counterproductive? This is absolutely the case. Prior economic histories of countries around the world have proven that there are general results that can be expected from a given action or series of actions, but this does not always hold true. The current state of affairs in the United States is a glistening example of that. The groundwork and root statistics of the United States economy circa February 2013 are pretty good, but jobless rates are still too high and GDP growth is anemic to nothing. There are two commonly attributable reasons for that. The first is that businesses are being very conservative with their funds. They re not investing and spending the way they usually would because of the uneven and unpredictable conditions that are seen with the federal government, the level of spending in general and the wider market. The second primary reason that the economy is seemingly stuck in low gear is because consumer spending is way down, just as home values are way down, and this has led to a much higher savings rates rather than consumers making purchases discretionary and high ticket items in general. What this leads to is that even if the government of the United ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. 2016 Outlook For Automotive M A The 2016 Outlook for Automotive M A The easy money policy of the Federal Reserve and the cash swollen balance sheets of corporations and private equity firms alike contributed to an explosion of deal making in 2015. Long term growth in vehicle production and the positive outlook for vehicle sales over the next five years have made automotive one of the leading sectors for M A. We expect deal activity in the automotive sector to remain strong during 2016, but to taper off from 2015 levels. The biggest factor that will suppress deal activity this year is the impending interest rate increase by the Federal Reserve. Other deal squelching factors include geopolitical instability (e.g., in the Middle East and Russia) and the relative scarcity of companies that can be purchased at bargain prices. Favorable Conditions Exist for Automotive M A Even though macroeconomic factors will have a chilling effect on deal activity, automotive is likely to remain one of the hottest sectors for M A. During its resurgence over the past five years, the automotive industry has been highly profitable. In addition, the growth prospects for the industry are favorable, especially in light of the overall low growth economic environment. • 15. The Good Mother By Ellen Cronan Rose The idea of Mother Earth is extremely empowering for women; most women believe that, right? Ellen Cronan Rose finds the idea of mother earth tremendously unempowering. Rose writes in her article The Good Mother: from Gaia to Gilead , that the imagery of mother earth is deeply problematic and is harmful to the feminist cause. This is a shocking view considering that most women don t seem to have a problem with that idea. Ellen Cronan Rose states that the mother earth metaphor is harmful to the way women are viewed in society because it perpetuates negative stereotypes against women, it views the earth and women primarily as producers, and it overlooks the fact that both men and women are connected to nature. She goes in depth into how mother earth imagery can impact women. The first issue that Rose has with the mother earth image is that it appears to feed into male stereotypes for women. She quotes a New Age article that states: The Earth is currently terrified. Now, that s a shocker, isn t it? Great big Earth Goddess...The Big Lady quaking in her well worn earth boots...She scared. She needs some powerful comforting. (Bagley and McIntosh 221). Language like this shows that some people connect women with weakness, and that the earth and women need a strong man to save them. This goes to show that while some women may be empowered by the idea of a mother earth, others can abuse that idea and twist it into something that is oppressive. There are still sexist people out ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These innocent actions are perceived as disgusting and wrong in the eyes of society. The arrogance of society has prevented us from pursuing something that would guarantee happiness. In earlier human evolution, the Homo Sapiens ability of more advanced communication than that of other animals, the way we evolved to understand and communicate not only the tangible reality of our surroundings (after all, the Neanderthal could do this too), but also perceive and deal in hypotheticals and what s referred to as the imaginary reality the capability to believe in made up concepts like gods, money, nations is what made us the sole surviving human species; it gave us reasons to unite, to coexist in larger groups and eventually entire societies. Love of writing could also be the point of literature. Or, on the other hand, love of reading. Or a conduit for expression, or knowledge, or reverence. Or a million other things. There s no single, lone point to the art form of written works. Just like most of literature itself, the point probably lies in each person s own interpretation of it. Or maybe that s just my ... • 23. The Streets Of The Crowd Through various types of social gatherings, such as concerts and riots, our society is dominated by a vast variation of crowds, where some of these crowds bring out Georges Bataille s definition of animality in the humanity that is engaged in the crowds. There are a multitude of types of crowds, from open crowds to invisible crowds to double crowds. As stated by Elias Canetti, the dominating two kinds of crowds in our world are the open and the closed crowd. An open crowd is defined by its ability to continuously grow. Once the growth of the crowd comes to a stop, the open crowd disintegrates. A closed crowd is defined by having a boundary, it accepts its limitations, and puts an emphasis on permanence. Although the closed crowd is an extremely common and prevalent form of crowd, the truest and purest form is the open crowd. All crowds carry a dichotomy of fascination and attraction versus fear and repulsion, not unlike Rudolf Otto s mysterium tremendum. The different crowds are characterized by their ways of discharge, destructiveness, and eruption (Canetti, 17 22). In a crowd, those who are engaged free themselves from societal constructions of difference such as class, race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality, among other constructs. Dropping all notions of self, the engaged allow themselves to become one with fellow participants. The crowd is also characterized by its ability to find pleasure in destructiveness. The crowd is attracted to the noise and images of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The child s brain creates rules to simplify speech sounds and make words easier to say. As children grow older, they outgrow these patterns on their own and eventually, their speech becomes intelligible. A phonological process disorder is when a child continues to exhibit these patterns past the age expected for them to disappear. Phonological processes consist of syllable structure processes, substitution process, and assimilation processes. Syllable structure process focuses on how the child pronounces certain syllables in a word by adding, repeating, or omitting a syllable. Unstressed syllable deletion is a multisyllabic word. • 31. Ancient Egypt And The Egyptian Empire Have you ever wondered how Ancient Egypt helped shape the world today? Ancient Egyptians were a group of folks who were heavily influenced by religion. They feared dying anywhere but Egypt. The Egyptian Empire held a fascinating and very distinctive culture. Being one of the world s most advanced cultures and creating tons of wealth is what separated them from everybody else. Between the outstanding artwork, teaching methods, and amazing pyramids is what helped their society advance altogether. No other civilization of the ancient world history had such a popular appeal and none as important as human society and its organization. Egyptians have made great steps in shaping the world we all know today, which have made studying their culture and society easier than some previous historical eras. First and foremost, Ancient Egypt was structured in the form of a pyramid. The top of the pyramid of course was the gods. These gods included Ra, Osiris, and Iris, and according to the people of Egypt, these gods controlled almost the entire earth. Leaders in Egypt were called pharaohs so they were believed to be Gods in human form which is amazing. The ruler in status were powerful nobles and priests. Only nobles could hold government posts and in those positions they profited from tributes paid to the pharaoh. Priests were responsible for pleasing the gods. While soldiers fought in wars or quelled domestic uprisings. When there was no war to fight, the soldiers supervised ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
