This document discusses a study on the status of implementation of safety standards and legal requirements pertaining to construction safety in Kerala, India. It finds that despite advances in technology and safety legislation, accidents remain common in the construction industry. Through site visits, interviews, and document analysis of several construction projects, the study evaluated the implementation of important statutory safety requirements. It identified lack of compliance with safety standards and proper implementation of relevant laws as major causes of accidents. The document emphasizes that proper implementation of construction safety laws and standards can prevent many accidents and calls for increased awareness of safety practices.
The construction industry involves risky and unhealthy operations which result in many human tragedies, to lose
enthusiasm of workers, disrupt construction, delay progress, and adversely affect cost, productivity, and reputation. The
complex nature of construction and hazards it have occupational health and safety in construction work should design table and
continue throughout the construction phases until the safety and health of every end users is ensured. Safety is a major concern
for construction companies, as it is a source of substantial direct and indirect costs. In some countries, the rate of total workplace
injuries from construction activities can be as high as at least 50%. This is undoubtedly a serious matter warranting urgent
attention. This paper reviewed that the safety problems at construction site with fetal injuries caused by it with help of different
graphical data of agencies .It gives detailed information regarding about the injuries type and physical loss of human from this.
This study also revealed that the importance of safety in construction should pay more attention as the injuries loss the human

Determination of the most important General Failure Types based on Tripod-DELTAIJERA Editor
Prior research on the occupational incidents show that job-related accidents are majorly caused by two types of failures: a) active failures (technical and human errors), they directly affect the occurrences and totally happen in the beginning of work, b) latent failures, though hold unseen and steady for a long while in the system, they are rooted in the decisions of top-ranking officials. Tripod-DELTA is a tool that exposes latent failures. It classifies all possible latent failures in to 11 GFTs. By analyzing an operation using the GFTs, DELTA assesses where the most problematic areas of an operation are. The process of action itemizing DELTA facilitates the removal of latent failures.
Amelioration of safety management in infrastructure projectsIJERA Editor
Accidents are a major public health concern, resulting in an estimated 1.2 million deaths and 50 million injuries
worldwide each year specifically, the relationships between drivers' characteristics and road accidents are not
fully understood. Many factors are involved in the accident occurrence at construction site. Some important
elements that create a significant portion of accidents include: safety management error, poor training programs,
human element, act of god, outdated procedure and no clear monitoring policy. Although some of these items
are inevitable, but the occurrence of the largest part can be prevented. Therefore, for ameliorating the safety in a
project each of these items should be analyzed and a practical approach introduced. In general, near miss,
incident and accident are three dependent levels that mainly lead to injury. Risk and hazard are allocated in first
level which means near miss, therefore, no on-time identification of hazard and risk causes to create incident
and preventing accident in incident stage is unavoidable.
Health and Safety in the Construction Industry in Catanduanes, PhilippinesDr. Amarjeet Singh
The Island Province of Catanduanes is gaining grounds in the field of construction. The program of the current administration “Build, Build, Build” have taken the construction industry to full blast. Construction, both private and public are evident on every corners of the island. Occupational Safety and Health in construction is often neglected and disregarded. Construction is the one of the most dangerous sectors in health and safety. The government, thru the Department of Labor and Employment had already address the problem by providing safety and health training to the personnel of the construction firm as well as the industry as a whole. But the effort has been far from satisfactory, as construction accident continue to dominate the entire industry. The study aims to awareness of construction safety in Catanduanes. The study focuses on the awareness of workers in construction industry in Catanduanes on Occupational Safety and Health. From the series of interviews and interaction with the workers on site, and upon evaluation of their responses, the researcher finally come up with the conclusion that, the construction workers are aware of the safety and health in constructions but they do not adhere and follow it. Workers admittedly that the reason they are complaisant about following safety and health practices are discomfort, beliefs, and bad habits. The following recommendation were sought based on the results of the interview; 1. Workers must attend or be trained with safety and health. A training that would enable them to understand the safety and health issues and concerns, 2. Workers must be taught with correct attitude towards safety in workplace, 3. They must taught of right things contrary to their old beliefs, 4. Workers must developed good habit and positive outlook in terms of their safety and well-being.

In this project we made a sincere attempt to propose a multipurpose auditorium by considering the limitations of existing halls for the same purpose. Our college does not have a separate building for an auditorium. The existing halls have so many limitations such as improper visibility, audibility issues and also in architectural views. An auditorium is a room built to enable the audience to hear and watch various of activities and can also used as an indoor stadium. The project deals with the drafting, modeling, designing, analysis, and estimation using BIM software. BIM (Building Information Modeling) is an intelligent 3d model supported by various software that can be efficiently used for planning, designing, constructing and managing building and infra-structure. Plinth area of proposed auditorium is 8500sqft with a seating capacity of 900nos, Height of the auditorium will be at two levels ,safe bearing capacity of the soil is taken as 200KN/M², Hence the footing is designed as isolated type. All the plans are drawn by using the AUTOCADD 2015.The auditorium is planned as per the guidelines given in the National Building Code (NBC). Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.
