The Internet has become one of the greatest inventions of mankind for learning and sharing of useful information through electronic means. For some years now, the developed nations have adopted the use of the e-learning system. Presently, the COVID-19 outbreak has given rise to the adoption of the e-learning system by many countries of the world being the most viable alternative for teaching and learning. This paper uses a pragmatic approach to evaluates the benefits and challenges associated with the e-learning system. A survey was conducted among students in a higher institution and a total of one hundred and twenty-five responses was gathered from the online questionnaire to know the likely challenges faced by students with the e-learning system and also at an online researchers’ forum. The result shows that 30.40% of students complained about weak internet connectivity from the questionnaire administered which is also the major problem in most developing nations, and for optimal performance of the e-learning system, there should be adequate provision for strong internet connectivity, standard IT infrastructure, and user-friendly e-learning platform.
This study explored the main barriers to effective integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Harare Secondary School Education. Data were collected using close ended questionnaires. Participatory research was also carried out to familiarize with the changes happening in secondary schools with respect to integration of ICT in education and to find out the challenges being faced. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS). The results showed that although teachers are aware of the benefits of using ICTs in education there was still limited use of this pedagogy in classrooms as teachers were facing a number of challenges which acted as barriers to the successful implementation of ICT in education. These include lack of a clear sense of direction on how to use ICT to enhance the learning of students, inadequate resources and support as well as lack of the required technological skills among the teachers. The study recommends that effective planning to counter these barriers before implementation would greatly increase the effectiveness of ICT integration in secondary schools.

E-loox is an educational software application that has been designed specifically for students located in areas with limited Internet access. Unlike the majority of existing educational applications, E-loox is a “hybrid app”– meaning it can function both on and offline. As a hybrid app, E-loox allows students to complete assignments, access course materials, and conduct research in places where there is no Internet access. While global Internet access has expanded rapidly in the last decade, there are still more than 3.5 billion people who lack access, including approximately 60 million people in the United States. E-loox seeks to bridge the gap for the millions of students who have internet in the classroom but lack a home connection.

Abstract: E-learning represents an entirely new learning environment where information and communication
systems, whether networked learning or not, serve as specific media to implement the learning process for
students. In response to the fast development in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), e-learning
was therefore adopted by many universities and other higher institutions around the globe as a way of
improving and supporting their teaching-learning activities and making education accessible for all society
members.. Unfortunately, this rapidly changing technological resource along with the ever growing and mobile
society has no doubt created many challenges for students, teachers, parents, administrators and policymakers
particularly in developing countries. This actually made the paper to assess the e-learning structure in term of
physical infrastructure and human development at the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti through data collected
both by structured interview and questionnaires. The analyses of which the states of development are at low
realm therefore, call for a robust synergy that will be able to meet and cope with the test of the time.

Development on the Internet has led to the formation of Information Technology (IT) and IT has created various solutions for different sectors one among those is education. The educational sector has opened opportunities for entrepreneurship. Online learning has become a new trend in the constantly changing world and IT solutions have provided ways for it. Many such promising companies and startups have started coming up and a sector known as EdTech (a combination of education and technology which was made possible with the help of IT solutions) started growing up with billions invested in it around the globe. It is thus one of the fastest-growing sectors as it aims to make education feasible and accessible from any corner of the world. Vocational education as such is gaining more attendance in today’s world as there is a high demand for skilled and specialized people. Governments around the world are hugely investing in the skill development of their citizens. The purpose of this paper is to review the newly formed sector known as EdTech and analyze the role of Information Technology (IT) in creating opportunities for entrepreneurship. Further going on how in return entrepreneurship is transforming education (Sambamurthy, Bharadwaj, & Grover, 2003). E- LEARNING IN NIGERIA : CURRENT IMPLEMENTATIONS AND CHALLENGEScscpconf
E-learning is a concept which came to limelight about two decades ago in Nigeria. It has gone
through several metamorphoses since then ranging from open skepticism to acceptance. It was
accepted by most people because the percentage of Conventional Universities in Nigeria to the
number of candidates seeking admission into these Universities were getting small every year
and such Conventional Universities cannot cope with the pressure from the candidates. This is
the main reason why many people embraced E- learning as option and a welcome supplement to
normal university learning. This study is designed to evaluate the current implementation of Elearning
in Nigeria and the current challenges militating against the full implementation of Elearning
as an option in Nigeria.

The paper sought to analyse the application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching Health Education students in tertiary institutions in Adamawa State. A survey research design was used for the study. The population for the study comprised of 4 tertiary institutions offering Health Education out of which 2 were sampled. A simple random sampling was used in selecting 150 students from each of the institutions sampled making a total of 300 respondents. Data was collected with the use of questionnaire which was subjected to validity and reliability test. The mean and ANOVA was used in establishing the correlation between the variables in the study. The researcher accepts a result if the average mean is above 2.6 which is on the high side and shows a significant relationship. The researchers also reject a result if the average mean is below 2.5 which is on the low side and shows no significant relationship. Based on the findings of this study, it is recommended that: institutions and their management should have more ICT training centers on campus, the management of the institutions should urgently make sure ICT facilities are available for students’ use, the students should be given assignments, course project, group work, which will involve sourcing for information from the internet, lecturers should encourage students to organize mini seminars for presentation of assignments through the use of power point among others.

Implementing e-learning in far western region of Nepal by Gajendra Sharma* and Mahesh Prashad Bhatta in Crimson Publishers: Electronics and Telecommunications
The rapid developments of internet and communication technologies have materially altered many characteristics and concepts of the learning environment. E-learning has started to make way into developing countries and is believed to have huge potential for governments struggling to meet a growing demand for education while facing shortage of expert teachers, shortage of update textbooks and limited teaching materials. The objective of this study is to determine the major challenges of implementing e-learning systems in far western region of Nepal. The results of this study will serve as a basic for improving higher education in developing countries. There are many commercial or free e-learning systems available on the market. Most of these e-learning systems provide lot of functionality and modules. Some courses are completely based on e-learning resources instead of traditional learning model. E-learning system also offers graphs and charts of student’s results. This system is based on linear workflow. That means students can see new learning resources and tests only after previous was done. Students can also create their own learning plan by defining dates. System is able to export this plan into general calendar format or remind students via e-mail.

Analysis of grid connected independent power plant capabilities on electricit...Najeem Olawale Adelakun
At the core of any meaningful economic activity is electric power. Absence or inadequacy of it in a nation
stalls development in that nation. In Nigeria, there is a wide gap between forecast power and actual
power generation needed for productive endeavours. For instance in July 2017, the generation peak load
forecast was 14190MW while the actual generation peak load was 4567MW. In July 2018 it was again
14190MW (forecast) but 5110MW (actual). This paper uses descriptive statistics to analyse Independent
Power Plant (IPP) capabilities spread across ten years (2009-2018). The results show that there is need
to encourage more private investors to build additional IPPs in order to increase adequate power
generation in Nigeria – especially in post-COVID-19 socio-economic crisis. Consequently, it is expected
that the wide gap between generation peak load peak load forecast and actual peak load would be
narrowed.
Wastage of water has been a
common phenomenon in several public locations
such as event centre, restaurants, malls, mosque,
churches, and also at home due to negligence of tap
user or due to sophisticated tap used that visitors
may not know how to operate, to curb wastage and
prevention of damage to the wash hand basin. A
solar-powered automatic wash hand basin system
was developed to cater for any challenges that may
arise. The solar-powered automatic wash hand
basin systemis a sensor-based system with constant
a supply of electricity that starts automatically
whenever anyone put his/her hand just below the
water tap outlet, which significantly reduces water
consumption to some extent and can as well
eliminate cross-contamination by keeping hands
and germs away from commonly-used surfaces
especially during this COVID-19 pandemic.This
system can help in automating the work of human
beings with great ease and without any difficulty
which will make the tap to last longer, reduce water
usage, and also guide against any form of germs or
diseases from cross-contamination.
The Relevance of Doubly – Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) in Modelling and Sim...Najeem Olawale Adelakun
The need for clean and stable electricity has given rise to renewable energy globally. Currently, Wind Energy generation is one the leading renewable energy sources and DFIG-based wind turbine are invariably the best approach to generate a multi-megawatts power at variable speed with less fluctuation in output power, ability to control its generated active and reactive power with minimal cost. This paper presents a model of a grid connected DFIG based Wind Turbine system for variable- speed where the speed range requirements are small, the overall system simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK and the results shows the behaviour of DFIG with this type of control system and the numerous advantages in terms of cost reduction and the potential to build economically at multi-megawatt power system, as a result, DFIG grid connected wind turbine is essential.
The energy efficient load is considered as an important tool for efficient management of available
electrical energy in Nigeria because it allows electricity utility to meet the power demand of many consumers
with little or no increase in power supply generation. This paper discusses the technical and economic benefit of
using energy efficient load for electrical services design considering a four-bedroom apartment in Nigeria as a
case study. Load analysis and evaluation were carried out using both conventional load and energy efficient load
for electrical services. The technical benefits were determined by calculating the total energy demand, apparent
power and current drawn by the four-bedroom apartment. Apparent power and current are important tools to
determine Transformer capacity, Cable capacity and Generator capacity for the apartment. The economic
benefits were determined by calculating the daily energy consumption by the four-bedroom apartment and this
is a great tool in computing the daily cost of electricity by the apartment. The result shows that 41.26% of total
energy demand is saved and 32.96% of daily energy consumption is saved if the energy efficient loads were
used as an alternative to conventional load for that four-bedroom apartment.

occurred outages on the 330 kV line, while on 132 kV line,
emergency outages have the highest number of outages in 2014
but decreases rapidly over the years, similarly, twenty-seven
(27) major system disturbances occurred in 2016 with 31%
against ten (10) with 11% disturbances in 2015, while 2014 and
2018 with the same number of system disturbances of thirteen
(13) with 15%, it is apparent that more disturbances occur on
the transmission system, and there should be a proper
protection scheme to maintain stable grid network.
Consequently, Mini-grid and off-grid solutions will
prominently address the issue of power supply shortage and
instability in Nigeria.
Presently, there is rapid growth in Technology advancement. Developed countries are searching for new alternative energy sources to minimize the pressure on natural sources like gas, uranium, oil, coal, etc. However, natural sources of energy are inadequate and expensive, which also contributed heavily to greenhouse gas emissions. Developing countries like Nigeria are also trying to exploit different renewable energy sources like solar energy, hydropower, wind energy, bioenergy, etc. to accomplish their increasing demand and also to eradicate the energy crisis Nigeria has been experiencing due to insufficient electricity generation. This paper analyses the importance of renewable sources, the challenges and the benefits. This paper also analyses how renewable energy can be accepted as a perfect solution for economic development.
ABSTRACT
Electricity exists in a form that is useful to exploit, however, it will also be important to install electricity as
efficiently as possible, and design of the power distribution system should be convenient so as to minimize
power losses. This paper analyses the electrical service design of a Storey building using the lumen method for
the lighting calculations. The purpose of this work is to present a suitable approach to electrical services design
based on the provision of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (lEE) Regulations, which includes lighting,
power, distribution boards schematics. The results of the whole analysis and design was illustrated with
AutoCAD application. This work gives a direct approach from design of the electrical services to the installation
stage. The results of the calculations in the design helps the designer to make vital decisions such as types of
luminaries, sizes of cables and nominal ratings of protective devices required by each circuit and by the entire
installation in line with appropriate standards and regulations.
A STUDY AND ANALYSIS OF ENERGY GENERATION AND CONSUMPTION IN DANGOTE CEMENT ...Najeem Olawale Adelakun
ABSTRACT
Energy supply for economic activities has been a major problem in Nigeria such that it does appear that solution
to stable, reliable power supply is not yet in sight. Consequently, consumers (industrial, residential and
commercial) have all resorted to self-generation to complement whatever supply (if any) that comes from the very
unreliable national grid. For instance, the available power supply to the entire nation fluctuates between 3000MW
and 3500MW. A study of monthly energy generation in Dangote Cement Plant for a typical year was carried out.
This was compared with the equivalent monthly generation from the entire Nigeria’s grid system. The results
show that in 2013, at the early stage of commencement of production of operation in the plant), the total energy
generated by the Dangote Power Plant was 406762.33 MWH while the total energy consumed by the company
was 401903.72 MWh. Dangote’s total energy generation in 2013 represents 1.4% of Nigeria’s total generation
from grid in the same year. The total distribution loss was 4858.61 MWH (which is 1.2% of the total energy
generated by the company).Comparatively, the total generation from national grid in 2013 was 29628699. This
study further shows that Dangote Cement, Ibese produces enough energy for its use and could even sell any excess
if encouraged.
RETOOLING NIGERIAS ELECTRICITY GENERATION SUB – SYSTEM FOR SUSTAINABLE GRID O...Najeem Olawale Adelakun
ABSTRACT
Experts are varied in estimating the amount of power needed for national development. One expert
estimated 297,900 MW by the year 2030 using a 13 percent Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The Power
Sector Road Map’s aspiration is 40,000 MW by the year 2020 while the preferred Vision 20:2020 target is
40GW (40,000 MW) available capacity. Vision 20:2020 further proposed that hydro sources contribute 10%
of this value; thermal, 80%; coal, 6% and renewables, 4%. However, as at December 2017, Nigeria’s total
installed generating capacity was 12,324.40 MW. In order to assess the fundamentals and proffer solutions
for the improvement of power generation to meet popular expectations, this work analyses the installed
capacities of the nation from 1986 – 1995, on the one hand and from 2007 – 2016, on the other hand using
graphical illustrations and tables. The gap between the two time phases was deliberate to create some effect.
The results show that over the years, there has been an apparent, non – challance towards systematic
development of Nigeria’s power sector. To put a check to this deteriorating condition / trend, useful
suggestions have been made
Design and Evaluation of Electrical Services for an Energy Efficient HomeNajeem Olawale Adelakun
Abstract- Nigeria is facing an acute shortage of
electric power that drives economic activities.
Consequently, all sectors of the economy are facing
a retrogression in productivity. Besides, even much
of the power made available either from the grid or
self-generation is wasted due to poor installation
design and use of inefficient devices and equipment
such as filament bulbs, and fluorescent lamps
(among others). This work examines the present
common practice of electrical services that wastes
energy with the viewing to advancing the best
practice that minimises overall energy / power loss. A
three-bedroom flat and an eatery in Nigeria were
used as a case study. Load audit, analysis and
calculations were made to assist in making vital
decisions as to the types and sizes of luminaires,
cables and protective devices (among others) to be
used in accordance with known standards and
regulations. The results show that 71.8% and 69.1%
respectively of energy is saved for lighting in three-
bedroom flat and eatery; 37.4% and 30.8% in other
loads used in three bedroom and eatery respectively.
All this is as a result of use of frugal design and
energy saving – saving devices. This further implies
a saving in absolute cost of energy consumed in a
particular situation.
Abstract— Solar Energy is the prime important
source of energy, and it has continued to gain
popularity globally. As of 2018, about 486 GW of solar
PV was installed worldwide. One of the key
requirements for socio-economic improvement in any
nation of the world is the provision of dependable
electricity supply systems. Recently, there is a massive
growth in access to solar electricity in several Africa
countries, notably South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, and
Algeria. As a result, it decreases the global population
without access to electricity with an appreciable value.
This paper review the present state of solar energy
capacity in the world also identifies vital approaches of
improving their functionality, reliability, and
affordability as well as the essential method that
policymakers may implement in the future. The result
shows that there is a recurrent growth in solar energy
annually and as at the end of 2018 Asia with the largest
capacity of 56.58%, while Central America and the
Caribbean have the lowest installed capacity of 0.36%.
As the request for an uninterrupted supply increases in
different regions, progressive builders are embracing
solar photovoltaics (PV) renewable energy as an option
for their customers.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

ABSTRACT
The Internet has become one of the greatest inventions of mankind for learning and sharing of useful information through
electronic means. For some years now, the developed nations have adopted the use of the e-learning system. Presently,
the COVID-19 outbreak has given rise to the adoption of the e-learning system by many countries of the world being
the most viable alternative for teaching and learning. This paper uses a pragmatic approach to evaluates the benefits and
challenges associated with the e-learning system. A survey was conducted among students in a higher institution and a
total of one hundred and twenty-five responses was gathered from the online questionnaire to know the likely challenges
faced by students with the e-learning system and also at an online researchers’ forum. The result shows that 30.40% of
students complained about weak internet connectivity from the questionnaire administered which is also the major
problem in most developing nations, and for optimal performance of the e-learning system, there should be adequate
provision for strong internet connectivity, standard IT infrastructure, and user-friendly e-learning platform.

1. INTRODUCTION
The evolution of modern computer and smart devices revamped the learning structure, the need for e-learning has risen
remarkably and will continue doing so, as society starts adapting to social distancing, it is imperative to note that
electronic learning has come to stay been the most viable approach for learning especially during this pandemic period.
Many higher institutions of learning have adopted the e-learning process as an important tool and it is gaining an
educational foothold worldwide (Abou El-seoud et al., 2009; Gunasekaran et al., 2002). The emergent of the e-learning
system is influenced by several factors which include but not limited to ease of access, flexibility, availability, reduced
cost of training, and convenience (Odegbesan et al., 2019). E-learning is known as the use of information and
communication technologies to provide access to online learning/teaching resources (Arkorful & Abaidoo, 2014). In a
broader view, e-learning can be defined as the use of computer and Internet technologies to disseminate an array of
results through media such as the internet, computer, visual tapes, audio, satellite broadcasting, and compact drives to
provide learners with utmost flexibility regardless of time and place of learning (Ghirardini, 2011; Poonam, 2015;
Shahmoradi et al., 2018). Similarly, e-learning includes the use of the internet and other relevant teaching aid to produce
learning materials, teach learners, and also regulate courses in an organization (Pande et al., 2016).
The efficiency of the electronic learning system requires adequate planning and teaching to improve the quality of
learning and the general performance of the students. E-learning can suit the needs of both active and passive learning
(Liu et al., 2020). The study investigating the effectiveness of e-Learning has increased nowadays (Noesgaard &
Ørngreen, 2015), which prompt a practitioner studying in a developed country to assess the strengths and weaknesses of
different e-learning platforms from the viewpoint of a user from a third world country (Adzobu, 2014).
The global COVID-19 pandemic has made e-learning system the safest and easiest way to impart and acquire new skills,
e-learning system is useful for creation of informative online sessions, supplementary lessons for students, webinars, e-

mentoring and online conferences (Adelakun, 2020d). Several e-learning authoring tools/learning management system
platforms help lecturers/tutors to deliver lectures with ease. It also provides the learners with the flexibility to learn at a
remote location and also gives room for the exploitation of additional knowledge (Epignosis, 2014). It is paramount that
all e-learning platforms must be responsive, user friendly, and also easy to use irrespective of the device used for
connectivity (Adelakun et al., 2020f).
E-Learning platform can be defined as an array of online interactive programs that give learners access to knowledgeable
resources to enhance educational delivery, class management, and prevention of submission errors through the Internet
(Ghirardini, 2011; Benta et al., 2014). Several educational institutions and organisations use different e-learning
platforms to deliver and manage their learning processes. Technological prerequisites of the approach adopted should
be kept to a minimum to increase the participation and implementation (Kamba, 2009).
There are several benefits associated with e-learning which include but not limited to: enhancing the student Information
Technology skill, making available swift and enormous access to learning resources, easy distribution of learning
resources, ability to serve a large number of students at low cost, quick creation and revision of study materials, it
promotes active and independent learning, flexibility: lectures can be taken at any location, it promotes a carbon-free
environment, it offers self-paced learning and personalization, it enhances retention capability (Noesgaard & Ørngreen,
2015; Adelakun, 2020d).
There are several online learning management system platforms with different levels of functionality and complexity,

After a pragmatic study of the questionnaire, the online questions and answers forum and also from information obtained
from the review of similar studies, it is apparent that several challenges arise from the e-learning system. Some of the
major challenges faced with the e-learning system globally include but not limited to; weak internet connection, high
cost of using the internet, lack of human interaction, financial restriction i.e. lacks of computer / smart devices,
adaptability struggle, technical issues, lack of self-motivation, intermittency of electricity supply, the complexity of the
system, lack of perfect e-learning authoring tool/learning platform, social isolation, low level of computer literacy, lack
of adequate awareness, low level of assimilation, feedback is limited, the credibility of the e-learning exam in a remote
location cannot be ascertained.
3. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
This paper has used a pragmatic approach to evaluate the benefits and likely challenges associated with the e-learning
system. From the questionnaire conducted online, it is appalling that students face different challenges, Table 3 shows
the percentage of major challenges with the e-learning system. Fig. 1 displays a chart comparing major challenges
students faced with the e-learning system, and it is clear that weak internet connection and high cost of using internet
are the major challenges faced by students with the e-learning system.
Fig. 3. displays the percentage of major challenges with the e-learning system, where weak internet connection has the
highest percentage of 30.40% while low level of assimilation with 16.80%, lack of communication skill development
with 12.00%, Social isolation with 8.80%, feedback is limited with 6.40% and high cost of using the internet with
25.60%. Similarly, from the question and answer forum from researchgate, the qualitative data obtained from different
researchers/academics shows that different countries have different challenges and benefits, but the majority of
researchers complained about weak internet connection and high cost of using the internet which is also similar to the
survey conducted at federal polytechnic Ilaro, and it is also emphasized that credibility of e-learning exam in a remote
location cannot be ascertained except a remote desktop software is implemented (Adelakun, 2020a; Adelakun, 2020b;.
Adelakun, 2020c; Adelakun, 2020d; Adelakun, 2020e; Adelakun et al., 2020f).

From all indications, in the years to come e-learning system will be adopted as the major form of learning globally, the
e-learning system usage has increased especially during this pandemic period. However, for effective delivery and
optimal performance of the e-learning system, there should be; establishment of standard IT infrastructure, adoption of
expert judgment from developed countries, provision of strong internet connectivity at a cheaper rate, familiarizing

learners and teachers to the development and use of e-learning material, usage of a dynamic e-learning platform that is
user friendly and easy to use, a remote desktop software should be adopted for credible exam administration, provision
of stable electricity supply.
4. CONCLUSION
The need for e-learning has risen remarkably and will continue doing so, a suitable approach for effective delivery e-
learning system must be put in place. This paper has used a pragmatic approach to evaluate the benefits and likely
challenges associated with the e-learning system. It should be noted that some developing and less-developed nations
are yet to adopt the e-learning system while those that have adopted it have more challenges with the transitioning. From
the questionnaire distributed and obtained from the students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, the result shows that
30.40% of students complained about weak internet connection which is the highest, while 6.40% of students complained
about limited feedback, the result is similar to qualitative data obtained from researchgate questions and answer forum.
Furthermore, the credibility of the e-learning exam depends on the implementation of remote desktop software. Hence,
for optimal performance of the e-learning system, there should be provision for modern technology, availability of well-
trained personnel, provision for strong internet connectivity, standard IT infrastructure, user-friendly e-learning
platform, and adequate awareness and sensitization on the usage of the system.
5. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
The authors sincerely acknowledge the active responses of the students to the questionnaire and also our profound
gratitude to all research scholars that contributed on Researchgate. All your contributions and participation are highly
appreciated.
