Kirksville Library Volunteers Case
Introduction to Organization and Environment In regards to the Kirksville Library Volunteers
Case, this is a medium sized public library located in a large, southern city. Non profit. Funding. In
order for the library to function beyond the limits of its normal paid staff, the library relies on a
large volunteerreserve of 75 volunteers.
This library functions like many other libraries in its input, throughput, and output. It is most
likely a non profit organization that is funded by sources such as taxes, grants, and private
benefactors. The library also likely runs on a quarterly budget if not a yearly budget and it does not
often have to change how things are done. Because of this, the library by definition falls into a
placid environment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Volunteers would be guaranteed projects and tasks to do during their shift. In this situation there
would only be one employee managing the 75 volunteers, again this may be too much for one
person. Managing a lot of individuals can cause frustration for the selected employee who is
managing the volunteers, thus disturbing morale in the workplace.
The most practical solution for this management case would be to choose three to four serious,
eligible and qualified volunteers to become Volunteer Coordinators. Each Volunteer Coordinator
would be assigned to one section of the library e.g. circulation, technical services, or outreach and
so on. They would be liaising with staff from the designated section, creating a list of projects and
tasks that could be fulfilled by the volunteer. Previous communication issues would more than
likely be solved between staff and volunteer coordinators.
The Volunteer Coordinators would then select which category of the library volunteers would
work, dividing them up evenly as possible. A trusting relationship will begin to form after the
volunteer works in their designated section. One disadvantage of this arrangement could be that

The First Lady. Obama
The First Lady When I first saw Michelle Obama it was in 2007 during the election trail. I did
not really know much about her then, because I was only in the 5th grade and I was more into
dolls and Disney channel than watching politics. I would hear my mother talk about her, but
that is the most that I would know about her for a while. I started to really notice her win I
started to see her on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel when she would do her guest appearance
on some shows. I than started to hear about some of her works on fitness in America and the
obesity rates. When Nickelodeon would have their Worldwide Day of play I would see some of the
interviews that she would do. I started to hear about her food regulations that she has put through
and heard some people and students complain about. Michelle Obamais a very smart woman and
she is trying to get people to see that having good health can help them succeed. In all actuality
she is there and doing somethings that other First Ladies have not done and is which in some
ways she is a great First Lady. She is a woman to look up to for a few reasons. Michelle Obama
has been working to help people and bring awareness to mental health issues. Some people may
ask why they should listen to her. According to Barbara O Dair, Michelle Obama Has taken the
lead on ending this stigma so sufferers, including, military personnel, veterans, and their families,
can get the help they need (O Dair 36) She has met soldiers dealing

Industry Profile Of Coca Cola Company
2.1 INDUSTRY PROFILE
Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), also known as Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) are
products that have a quick turnover and relatively low cost. Consumers generally put less thought
into the purchase of FMCG than they do for other products. The Indian FMCG industry witnessed
significant changes through the 1990s. Many players had been facing severe problems on account
of increased competition from small and regional players and from slow growth across its various
product categories. As a result, most of the companies were forced to revamp their product,
marketing, distribution and customer service strategies to strengthen their position in the market.

Senior Portfolios In High Schools
High Schools throughout the country have different graduation requirements for their seniors. At
Preston High School, a senior portfolio is a requirement to graduate. For the portfolio, students
must collect all of their accomplishments and report cards to place into a binder. The binder will
then be presented to employees of businesses. Another example of a graduation requirement would
be community service. For example, Maryland schools require 75 hours of studentservice. Based
upon research, some experts say that community service should be voluntary; however, it gets
students involved in the community, allows for better schooling, and gives students a better work
experience. First of all, senior portfolios only expand upon the students themselves. Community
service allows students to get involved with their community. Technically, the community helps pay
for schooling, so it would be nice for the students to reciprocate by contributing to their hometowns.
Students could get involved and contribute by picking up trash around the streets, or volunteering at
the local food drive. By doing so, the teenagers will get to know the people of their community.
They will also gain a knowledge of important town events such as the food drive or the community
festivals. In addition, the students will learn about the community... Show more content on

Scholarships are essential to students for college, and there are no scholarships offered to students
for their senior portfolios. However, hundreds of scholarships are offered for community service.
There are specific scholarships given out to students who complete a certain amount of community
service hours. Also, several scholarships look at the student s community involvement to help them
decide who the recipient is. Furthermore, colleges will also look at the student s community service
hours. The service hours will help students get accepted into their desired

Solzhenitsyn s One Day In The Life Of Ivan Denisovich
In Solzhenitsyn s One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, the character Ivan has been sentenced
to a lengthy stay at a Soviet labor camp. Ivan was captured during the war and the Soviets are
subjecting him to intensive labor that not only attempts to strip men of their physical dignity but
also to psychologically break them down. Prisoners of such camps must resort to their most basic
human instinct to survive the inhuman conditions, below freezing working temperatures, and
general lack of food. In other words, Ivan has been forced to act in every way humanly possible
to survive the terrors of such camp. The 104 is the labor camp team in which Ivan has been placed

The Use Of The Beck Hopelessness Scale ( Bhs )
A client admits to alcohol dependency on a consistant and regular basis because the loss of job.
The client exhibits hopelessness and depression. The client has explained they experiencing
insomnia, and decreased energy to do anything. This explains their poor personal hygiene. As the
clinician the safety of the client is of the utmost importance. The use of the Beck Hopelessness
Scale (BHS) is for the purpose of aiding the clinician in the determining if the client is suicidal. It is
important to gather as much information as possible to ensure the safety of the client and the
ethical obligation as the clinician. Kattimani, Sarkar, Rajkumar Menon (2015) clearly explained
that stressful situations are the leading causes of compulsive suicidal attempts. Analysis of
Theoretical Basis The theoretical basis for working with someone with dependency and depression
can be narrative therapy along with cognitive behavioral therapy. Narrative therapy is from the
theoretical approach that individuals have their own unique narratives (Phipps Vorster, 2015). The
intervention approached should be gentle with caution to translate what the client s story means to
them and guide them towards change in a meaningful and productive way (Phipps Vorster, 2015).
For example, the this particular client may explain their series of events as devastating and life
altering. Using a narrative theoretical approach externalizing the words the client uses. The client

Radiologic Encephalitis Research Paper
Diagnosis and management Clinical syndromes are never pathognomonic for a paraneoplastic
aetiology and a high index of clinical suspicion is important. Symptoms can be atypical,
psychiatric or even fluctuating and PNS should often be in the differential diagnosis of otherwise
unexplained severe neurological syndromes. Radiologic findings are especially important to rule
out other possible causes; in case of PNS they often render aspecific findings. As an exception,
CT and MRI reveal temporal lobe abnormalities in 65 80% of patients with limbic encephalitis
(LE)(Dalmau and Rosenfeld 2008) and often some degree of cerebellar atrophy is seen in the
chronic stage of predominantly cerebellar syndromes. In patients suffering from paraneoplastic

Because of overlapping syndromes in separate antibodies, paraneoplastic antibodies should be
searched for by screening rather than by focusing on a specific antibody. Unfortunately, not all
patients with paraneoplastic syndromes have identifiable antibodies in their serum. Once a
paraneoplastic etiology is strongly suspected, a careful search for the underlying neoplasm is
mandatory. If detailed history taking, thorough physical examination and high resolution computed
tomography (CT) of chest, abdomen and pelvis do not show a primary tumor, whole body
positron emission tomography (PET) or PET/CT may be the best screening method for locating
the occult cancer(Patel et al. 2008). Besides, the type of antibody and paraneoplastic syndrome
may suggest a specific underlying tumor and indicate more directed diagnostic tests, such as
mammography (or MRI) when breast cancer is suspected. With positive antibody screening and
strong suspicion of paraneoplastic disease, negative tumor search should be repeated at 3 6 months
intervals for 2 3

Cultural Methods And Forms Of The Bantu Migration In Africa
The Bantu migration is the dispersal of the Bantu people from the region of Cameroon and the
Congo area. The word Bantu does not refer to the people of the African expansion, but rather the
African languages belonging to the people in the Niger Congo. Cultural influences that occurred,
due to the migration of the Bantupeople, laid out the foundation for other Sub Saharan societies.
Historians have used the collective information found by archeologists and other historians in order
to draw conclusions about the Bantu Migration. Linguistics, agriculture, and different types of art
have been the evidence needed to identify the cultureand the specific patterns of movement, during
this period. Bantu speaking farmers are known to have spread through the Congo forests by the first
millennium. The rapid spread of the Bantu people became evident in the fifth century; the iron
working and crop cultivation of pumpkins, melons, and beans had become wide spread in central,
eastern, and southern Africa. Although crop cultivation is an efficient way to track movement
patterns, this paper will focus on the linguistics, genetics, and various art forms used to track the
dispersal. Oral communication used by the Bantu people was one of the only ways to relay
information. Verbal communication and the study of linguistics, in the instance of the Bantu
Migration can be obscured because over familial generations and time the language changes, forms
its own dialect, and develops for

And it s been well received, and praised, as serious alternative legislation; but elected
representatives don t propose things in a vacuum, elected representatives propose things that
their constituents ask to be proposed. The American people continue to be extremely upset
about Obamacare. There s an article today it may have been New York Times, may have been
Wall Street Journal or Washington Post, but you could easily Google and find it in which they
speak about how the penalties for not having policy are about to be instituted, and if a person
does not purchase a policy under the individual mandate, they re about to be fined $900 per year.
The article points out it s extremely unpopular. Now, the American people want that portion of
Obamacare repealed. The Cadillac Tax has been in the news; unions bargained in the past to have
more generous healthcare benefits, and in their bargaining they gave up income in exchange for
richer insurance policies. Obamacare taxes those middle class workers who give up income to
have more generous insurance benefits. Obamacare taxes them with the so called Cadillac Tax.
Now, those workers want that portion of Obamacare repealed. So when these bills come up, to do
this or that about Obamacare, it is a response to the American people s anger about how the law in
being implemented. Now, another part of your question, implicitly, was should Republicans have

Ethical Considerations Of Organ Transplants
A human life is precious. When a procedure takes place to extend a life, there s many regulations
doctors must abide by. An organ transplant is a laborious process due to the National Organ
Transplant Act (NOTA) of 1984. NOTA established the national Organ Procurement and Transplant
Network (OPTN) for matching donor organs to waiting recipients. The United Network for Organ
Sharing (UNOS) is the organization that manages the OPTN, pretty much responsible for making
and managing the connections between donors and recipients. The donor s blood type and body
size is provided to UNOS. The UNOS computer system then matches the donated organs to patients
who are potential recipients of the needed organs. The recipient is selected on different criteria;...

Medications used for the transplant process will be more reliable, the computer programs

Similarities and Differences Betweeen Evidence Based...
Within the field of education there is a range of methods and practices which have been
implemented by professionals, in order to improve the provision for learners. Some of the
methods adopted may be due to government legislation. An example of this is the National
Curriculum. It was introduced to establish a consistent approach to the teaching of all children, in
maintained schools. It gives guidance on what should be taught for particular age groups and a set
of level descriptors are also included to assess children by. Other practices are developed, within a
schoolcontext, to address particular areas in need of improvement. Evidence Based Practice (EBP)
and Reflective Practice are two methods, used by teachers, to enhance the teaching... Show more

Another familiar feature of both reflective and evidence based practice is that both practices
share a common aim. They both strive for change and improvement (Atkin 1993 cited in Leitch
Day 2000). Evidence is often gathered to support or justify particular practice. We look at trends
in results to identify a particular weakness or strength. The optional statutory assessment grids
are a great source of evidence for teachers, at the end of a year. They provide a breakdown of the
types of questions that the children answered and show the percentage they got correct. In my
school we analyse this data to show where there are gaps in the children s understanding. We then
use this evidence to inform our teaching practice the following year, by targeting these particular
areas in need of development. By looking at this example you can see how both evidence based and
reflective practice are used. As practitioners we need to reflect upon this evidence to help it inform
out teaching. Without doing this, these gaps may go unidentified and there would be no
improvement in that particular area of the child s understanding. This example shows the reflection
on action process.
Although it is possible to say that both practices share a common aim it could be argued that the
difference between the two is the way in which they are used (McMahon 1999). Often when
practitioners reflect on their practice, it is then that they recognise a problem or dilemma. They do

Apple has done well in focusing on the customer s needs and wants as it is related to the quality
of the product or service as well as price. Apple uses promotional and advertising tools to capture
the attention, interest, and desire of the consumer. Apple captures our attention and interest
through innovating and sleek imagery of their products on Apple s official website as well as
keynotes and other publication (Villefranche, 2011). For example Apple just released the I phone
5 which was highly anticipated and the publicity that Apple had prior to the release was
tremendous and also brought in many new customers. It has been said that the first weekend the I
phone 5 was available they sold 5 million phones. Apple made a plan and set up objectives and
goals that they desired. Through integrated marketing they have met those goals and it allows for
them to set higher goals and reach them as well. Apple also knows their competitors very well and
this allows them to be in this market and compete very well. Communication is an area that all
companies must value. If a customer has a need or want they must be able to communicate that to
the company. This will allow the company to achieve optimal satisfaction with their customers.
This will be beneficial to the company because with optimal customer satisfaction

and puts considerations on discontinuities and continuities between the modern and old practices.

In her analysis, she presents how history has influenced the modern self writing, and how the
transfer of the writing process has been intertwined with the modern technology systems. She
presents scenarios that make us believe that writing is not only an art of communication but a
system used to reveal oneself and understand self. The practice is as old as time and it is part of the
human nature. She has supported most of her arguments creatively, by using both the modern and
old sources to present a clear transition and connection that is encompassed in the art of writing for
self formation. For one to understand the present systems, it is important to dig deep into history
(Fischhoff, 2013). Sauter has creatively presented historical context of self writing in the past by
exploring the ancient Greek askesis. In her narration she has depended greatly on Foucault works to
present the philosophical aspect in the art of writing. Her chronological presentations provide a
vivid understanding on writing transition and its effect to the modern systems. She has also used
Christian confessional, romantic autobiography, liberation and transgression and Writing in
psychology to present a clear insight on writing and its effect on self formation (Sauter, 2014). Her
discussions and presentations are well structured to accommodate conflicting

The Birds The Birds, the movie was directed by Alfred Hitchcock and was based on the short

because different species of birds never work together. The story and the film both have the same

Drugs and the Music Industry
Alex Bass

English 11B, Period 3

Drugs and the Music Industry Throughout the years, drugs and music have been as synonymous as
America and baseball. Especially within the past 50 years, this nation has experienced the birth, and
death, of many genres of music due to rampant drug use. Sure, we all know that drugs are bad for
you and that if you abuse them, they will eventually lead to your death, but these substances have
created music that has inspired millions around the world, and who is to say that is a bad thing?
We have all benefited in one way or another from a musicians use of mind altering chemicals or in
some cases, plants, and this is an undeniable fact. Drugs have had an overall positive impact on the

The use of drugs in the music scene was at its most extreme during the Hardcore Punk movement of
the 1980 s. This scene was entirely different from any that was experienced before. Drug use also
held initial significance in the movement; the inherent connection between recreational drug use
and the production of rock music applied to the Hardcore movement just as it appeared in the
music of the 60 s. (Cashbaugh) The punks took any drug that was available to them that was
cheap and hit fast and hard. Inevitably, their drug of choice became speed because, It was cheap,
it was around, and you could play fast music on it. It also curtailed your appetite. In San
Francisco, the Negative Trend guys literally lived on potatoes. (Marzuk) This revolutionary drug
let musicians play for days upon end with no sleep and little need for basic necessities. It may
have taken a toll on their bodies, however the pure, raw energy it created was something never
seen before. Drug use, however, does not increase your creativity. There is no scientific evidence
that shows a direct correlation between drug and alcohol use and the creative parts of your brains.
To the contrary, studies have shown that I actually limits the amount your brain functions.
(summary, Cengage) However, the mainstream media portrays such a direct link between the two
that when people take drugs, they convince themselves that they have these effects. The drugs

The Internal Struggle In William Shakespeare s Hamlet
In society many people suffer from making decisions. They feel immobilized and are unable to act
upon opportunities. However, there are usually many factors that contribute to the inaction. In
William Shakespeare s Hamlet, the protagonist Hamlet is incapable of action. His internal struggle
is visible throughout the course of the play. Should I live or die? Should I take revenge for my
father s death or not? Hamlets inability to take action stems from his battles with depression, his
doubt and is also a result of his spitefulness.

Harm Principles
In order to begin discussing how lawmakers can legitimately draw a line between permitted and
criminal activity there are two principles which need to be defined and acknowledged, the harm
principle and the offense principle. The harm principle, initially created by John Stuart Mill in
his essay On Liberty , is heavily centred around the protection of society. According to Mill, the
only sufficient reason to criminalise certain behaviours and activities is if it causes harm to
members of the society or society as a whole, harm to oneself is not a strong reason to criminalise
behaviours as we have a right to individual autonomy. The modern harm principle used now is Joel
Feinberg s adaptation of Mill s ideas, he stated that the need to prevent... Show more content on

The fact that it is a psychological disorder that causes individuals to want to amputate their limbs
may be a sufficient reason to criminalise those who carry out the procedure of amputating a person
s healthy limbs as in essence they are not actually able to give an informed consent particularly if
one is following the guidelines laid out in the Mental Capacity Act 2005 meaning that it can be
concluded as the bodily harm of mentally ill patients. Muller raises a case against amputation based
on the principle of autonomy. On the one hand autonomy can be used to argue for the rights of
body modifications like for plastic surgery for aesthetic or sexual purposes but on the other hand the
autonomy of BIID patients is heavily doubted. Autonomy requires insight, free will and rationality,
those suffering from a neuropsychological condition cannot be classified as autonomous and thus
performing an amputation on them should be prohibited. This then turns the attention to those who
do not suffer from a medical

Character Analysis Of Bathsheba Everdene
The pieces of Bathsheba Everdene s character do not fit together nearly so seamlessly as
Elizabeth s do, because she is created by a male author. Hardy counteracts Bathsheba s
independence and fiery disposition by giving her submissive romantic preferences. Hardy s
attempt to create a strong female character by allowing Bathsheba to take charge of her fate
seems to be overpowered by his fantasies about women s sexualities. While Bathsheba is
dominant with her employees, she is timid and submissive with men she is attracted to. Not
only is she submissive, but Hardy creates her to want to be that way. He takes a societal
expectation and a personal fantasy and writes it into his supposedly revolutionary character s
mind. While people are complex beings, and a strong independent woman with submissive
romantic behavior is not out of the realm of possibility, it contradicts other statements Hardy
makes about her character. Hardy shows that From the very outset, Bathsheba reveals her
ambivalence about becoming, like most women, a visual and sexual possession; she wishes to
live by her own rules and to take charge of her life (Wittenberg 137). In the same scene in which
Bathsheba asserts her dislike of marriage due to her liking for independence, she tells Oak, her
first suitor, that she wants a man to tame her (Hardy 26). The most likely reason for Hardy s
inconsistencies in Bathsheba s characterization is simply that he was a man attempting to write a
female character in a

Why Is John Adams Important
John Adams is a very important man in history. He is most commonly known for his role as the
second president of the United States. However, there is more to Adams then his role a the second
president of the United States. On October 30, 1775, Adams was born into a farming family in
present day Quincy, Massachusetts. Like many young boys, John Adamsadmired the outdoors.
When he grew old enough Adams wanted to become a farmer. His father, John Adams Sr., knew
that he had more potential. Adams never had much of an interest in school work, nevertheless
his parents provided him with a good education. As a young boy Adams attended a public Latin
school in Quincy, Massachusetts. As well as providing Adams with a good education, his
parents also equipped him with two private tutors. In 1755, Adams decided to further his
education at Harvard. At nineteen years old Adams had decided to pursue a career as an
grammar teacher. It didn t take John Adams one to realize that being an grammar was not what

History Of The Council Of Nicea
The Council of Nicea was held during the winter of 324 325 (Bingham 46). The main concern of
this council was the relationship between God the Father and God the Son, as well as the essence
of the Son (Bingham 47). It aimed to create a counter argument against the Arians in an attempt to
end the relationship dispute, defend the trinity, and bring unity to the church. This council
condemned Arius and produced an anti Arian creed, the Creed of Nicea , but this council did not
end disputes (Lane 29). The creation of a creed, the Creed of Nicea, did have a significant impact,
however. A creed, meaning I believe in Latin, can be used in many ways including a public

In this creed, Jesus Christ the Son was affirmed to be both fully God and fully man (Lane 41) and
united equally with God. During 451, the Council of Chalcedon was held (Bingham 51). Here, the
church leaders
reaffirmed their acceptance of the Nicene Creed as it then existed and made analytical distinctions
regarding the nature of Jesus Christ concerning the human and divine (Kerr 75).
[The] Chalcedonian Creed emphasizes the oneness of Christ s person and the distinction of his full
two natures, divine and human, in unity with each other (Bingham 54).This they referred to as the
Symbol of Chalcedon, and while it did not become popular due to its complexity, it did help
describe limits made in the church. This Chalcedonian definition was brought on by
Arianism, Apollinarianism, Nestorianism, and Eutycheanism (Kerr 75). Combined, these councils
defended against the controversial teachings and beliefs of
Arianism, which denied the full deity of Christ; Apollinarianism, which denied the full humanity of
Christ; Nestorianism, which denied the union of the two natures;

Microsoft, Mysql And Sql Server
When you start thinking about getting a database program for your company there are many
popular software names that come to mind. The first that come to my mind are Oracle, MySQL
(structured query language) and SQL Server, but let s take it one step further you have to know
the pros and cons for each program. By educating yourself on the differences between the
programs you can know that you are getting exactly what you need from the software. Even
though they all do create databases, different companies have special needs and the program that
is chosen may not do what it is needed without research. Some users might say that the cost plays
a big part of the decision making process, but you do not always just want to know how much
they cost because you want to know how they differ from each other. There are quite a few out
there, let s start with the top three companies Oracle, MySQLand SQLServer.
First, let us take a look at Oracle. Oracle has been the leader of database programs for years; it was
released for commercial use in 1980s. Oracle s first release was called Oracle 2 and it only
supported the basis features of SQL. (Lee, 2013) It was also the first to develop commercial
layer SQL. Commercial layer program is usually windows base and it works with SQL Server.
Some of Oracle s many features include the interface that can either be SQL (structured query
language) or GUI (graphical user interface). The languages it supports are C, C#, C++, Java, Ruby,

The choice to study Livia Drusilla in depth was an easy decision. One of a few women to gain
any sort of power in ancient Rome let alone the status that Livia ended up having near the end of
her time. Livia herself is very controversial and is often depicted in one of two ways in most
available sources. The first is that she was a very manipulative woman, that her caring housewife
appearance and manner was all a façade and that she was responsible for the deaths surrounding
the heirs to the throne paving the way for her son Tiberius to become emperor. The second
depiction is that of a truly caring wife, of an individual that did her best to support her husband and

The Queensland Police Service ( Gre ) Incident Command...
The Queensland Police Service (QPS) Incident Command System (ICS) was raised as a project
in 2001 with the aim of establishing a Command system which could be used for any type of
incident or event. Extensive research was conducted into ICS models throughout Australia and
overseas. The QPS ICS was finally adapted from the North American ICS model which allows a
flexible approach to incident response with effectiveness and efficiency. The QPS ICS was then
adopted into Section 1.12 of the QPS Operational Procedures Manual (OPM 2014). The QPS ICS
takes a formal approach by gathering intelligence, planning a response and deploying the available
resources to achieve a specific result (QPS2013a).
The QPS ICS model is based on five interlocking functional roles. These roles are Command,
Operations, Planning, Intelligence and Administration and Logistics. Depending on the size and
nature of the incident the five roles can be carried out by a single officer or an incident management
team with a Police Forward Commander (PFC) who will have overall supervision. (QPS2013a).
The Command role will be undertaken by the first officer attending the incident who will assume
the role of Police Forward Commander (PFC) (OPM 1.12.3) who will remain in this role until the
incident is resolved or command responsibility is transferred, usually to a more senior officer
(QPS2013a). The PFC will obtain and maintain situational awareness, identify and take

9th Street Children Park Problem
Kids thrive off interaction with each other and playing . They need this interaction to grow socially,
physically, and mentally. When there playgrounds get torn down, mistreated, and rundown it
presents problems for these kids lives. The problem I am focusing on is the 9th Street Childrens
Park. The problem with it is that it s getting worn down and becoming a small hazard.
This problem has been becoming worse and worse over the past decade. Concerns have grown
with it as well. Parents are concerned about their children s safety, and I would have to both agree
and disagree. The main problem with the park is the main structure. The wood is untreated and the
bolts are well past starting to rust. Rust can turn metal sharp and increase the risk of injury and
could cause a serious emergency. The park is over 20 years old and in my lifetime I don t know of
any attempts to fix the problem until recently.
First and foremost the safety of our children must come first, and anything done must be done in
the best interest of them. But we should also be keeping a city treasure intact for them to enjoy
and for their kids to enjoy. My three part solution to the problem is to move ahead with temporary

problems than a playground. We as a community can do what we feel is right for our children. We

Analysis Of The Poem Songwriting For Under Achievers
Songwriting for Under Achievers I chose to research information on how to write music
because I have always wanted to write my own music. I chose this topic because I knew I would
learn a lot from it and that it would help me in my future. I wanted to learn how to write great
lyrics for my songs and make melodies so that I may perform them to an audience. I had to
research the different ways of writing lyrics, how to come up with a title for your song, how to make
a melody, and how to apply chords to that melody. I have learned an easy way to make songs of
your own so that they seem professional but anybody could do it. This is the basics of
Songcraft. In songcraft, the first thing that you must think of should be the lyrics to your song.
You may not have to use lyrics in your song which does not change anything but most modern
music these days have lyrics to express the mood of the song more. If you want lyrics in your
song or songs then the first step is to brainstorm. Choose a topic that you want your song to cover
and let your imagination run wild. Never hesitate in writing down the first words that come to
mind if you do then that is your first mistake. Lyrics aren t what somebody has just chosen from a
book or poem they are applied in the way that the artist imagines them not how she/he wants them
to sound. When I say this I do not mean that they never fix their lyrics but that they know there
meaning in the song from the lyrics even if the lyrics do not make sense

The paper will also aim at finding out the main implications witnessed as a result of the anxieties

on uncertainties about the future. In my research, I chose a wide range of authors and scholars
who have taken their time in this area of study. Through their effort, I have been able to bring out
what seems to be indeed the true picture of japan and the tangible issues affecting the people of
Japan. In my first look, I examined (Als Nelsen). The article provides coverage of how malicious
pharmaceutical companies in Japan are. They sponsor research institutes to improper and
unplanned drug trials. This gives an indication of how effective the pharmaceutical company and
this is always their primary objective. Research institutes, universities, and major hospitals are the
major beneficiaries of this sponsorship to provide biassed in their clinical tests and trials. The
outcome does justify their primary objective to the general public on its effectiveness. Furthermore,
the article explores deeply how these pharmaceutical companies abuse power by funding drug trials
and their influence to produce an outcome as per their requirements. The writers of this journal, to

Abstract:
In a global economy, mining the opinion relations between opinion targets and opinion words was
the key to collective extraction. To this end, the most adopted techniques have been nearest
neighbor rules and syntactic patterns. To improve the performance of these methods, we can
specially design exquisite, high precision patterns. However, with an increase in corpus size, this
strategy is likely to miss more items and has lower recall. In this paper proposes a novel approach
based on the partially supervised alignment model, which regards identifying opinion relations as an
alignment process. Compared to the traditional unsupervised alignment model, the proposed model
obtains better precision because of the usage of partial supervision. Compared to syntax based
methods, our word alignment model effectively alleviates the negative effects of parsing errors
when dealing with informal online texts. The objective is to propose a method based on a
monolingual Word alignment model (WAM). An opinion target can find its corresponding modifier
through word alignment. In addition, the WAM can integrate

The Best 10 Tips You Can Be Wrong Essay
This article lists the best 10 tips you will ever receive about how to fail in relationships. Paying
great attention to them is a sure way to understand how to keep sabotaging your relationships over
and over again. Read and internalize with the fullest attention.
1. Never take responsibility for your part in the failure of your relationships. Always blame your
partners.
Taking responsibility shows that you too might be wrong. This can take away some of the respect
and love your partner feels towards you. Being sure you are always right is the best way to prove
your integrity and show how strong you are!
2. Don t ever try to get in touch and understand the needs which might drive you to sabotage your
relationships.
Trying to understand what might drive you to sabotage your relationships means that you don t
know yourself 100%. It means you don t know who you truly are.
In today s world, where knowledge is power , not knowing who you are is a weakness. You can t
allow yourself to believe and assume you have personal needs you are not aware of which might
drive you to harm your relationships.
There is no reason for you to even consider the possibility that you have needs which cause you to
sabotage your relationships (such as: the need to always be in control which drives your partners
away from you; the need to always get attention and love which makes you too dependent on your
partners; the need to always be right which makes you an unpleasant and

Introduction to Poetry Representation
Poetry is not just words formed into a line and a stanza; each poem is an opportunity to dance
with the poet to his or her significant song. Introduction to Poetry by Billy Collins is a reflection
on how readers should read poetry. This poem is about how readers should take the time to
understand and explore poetry. In addition, Billy Collins, also, states that readers should not torture
poems and ignore the significance each stanzarepresents, but dissect, enjoy, and appreciate the
journey they will take while reading poetry. Introduction to Poetry is a guide to readers in how to
take more time enjoying poetry and learning to understand the experiences poems portray. Billy
Collins makes an observation that readers should not just... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He tries to get the readers to portray that poetry can be thrilling and adventurous. For instance,
Collins wants his readers to waterski across the surface of a poem / waving at the author s name
on the shore (9 11), which means he wants the readers to feel enthusiastic and thrilled while
reading poetry. Waterskiing is a daring and riveting sport that moves a person very quickly
through the water. Therefore, Collins compares reading to waterskiing because he wants his
readers to read through a poem like as if it were waterskiing across the surface of the water. The
lake represents the poem in the stanza, and the reader is waterskiing across the poem because he
or she has a better understanding towards the meaning. Therefore, it is easier for him or her to
waterski across the poem (9 10). By the reader waving at the name of the author on the shore (11),
this line is another way of revealing recognition towards the author s work.
However, Collins transitions the mood from excitement to a harrowing imagery portraying what
readers do to poetry. In the fifth stanza, Collins creates suspense because he states that the poem
is being tied to a chair with rope and tortured for a confession by the readers (12 14). This vivid
and dismaying imagery represents the poem as a prisoner being held captive and the reader as the
torturer, who is trying to squeeze out an understanding. By the poem being restrained, this depicts
the poem s lack of movement.

God s Caring For Israelites Research Paper
God s miraculous care for Israel was astonishing when the Israelites were in the wilderness. He
used His incredible powers to make it possible for the Israelites to live and grow in His
faithfulness. He provided manna, water, clothes, and shoes, Nothing can compare to what he did
for them. The manna that God provide was on the ground in the desert. There on the ground was
bread. They each divided it among every person who needed it and it lasted for 40 some days. The
bread looked like coriander seed and tasted like wafers with honey. They ate it like cakes. God is so
miraculous, He made water come out of a rock. At Rephidim God used Moses to provide water out
of a rock. God told Moses to beat the rock until water scattered

The Drought Conditions Of The Great Plains Region
Jordan, Zachary
Variations in the Prediction of Semipermanent Drought Conditions in the Great Plains Region and
the Methods Used to Derive These Predictions
Introduction
During the 1930 s, a period of severe dust storms caused great damage to the ecology and
agriculture of the Great Plains region in the United States. This period, known as the Dust Bowl,
was caused by severe drought conditions and poor farming practices put into place without proper
understanding of Great Plains ecology. The erosion of topsoil during this time produced extreme
dust storms that could reduce visibility down to one metre and had some dust storms even reaching
the east coast.
Today, the threat of human induced global warming has caused some scientists to speculate that the
Great Plains region is set to experience semipermanent drought conditions similar to what was
experienced during the Dust Bowl. However, other scientists have claimed that conditions will be
much tamer by comparison.. This inconsistency of results is discussed by Hoerling et al in their
paper Is a Transition to Semipermanent Drought Conditions Imminent in the U.S. Great Plains? In
their paper, it is suggested that the variance in results is due to the fact that the primary studies that
have been conducted have used different methods and models to predict drought conditions and
temperature in the Great Plains area. The models and methods discussed include the Palmer
Drought Severity Index, the Coupled Model

Pat Tillman Character Traits
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. Bob Marley.
And there is one person who showed really how strong they really were and, that person was Pat
Tillman. Pat Tillman was a strong man along with a strong character. Tillman was born in
Fremont California on November 6, 1976 and died April 22, 2004 while serving his country.
Tillman was married for two years to a woman named Marie Tillman. Pat Tillmanwas modest,
determined, and a person with a great work ethic.
Pat Tillman was modest, the word modest means to not boast about accomplishments and Pat
Tillman always showed this trait. Tillman presented his modesty when interviewed after a high
school football game, he stated, I didn t play particularly well. The team played great. He never
wanted to talk about just him, he talked about his team. Another piece of evidence showing Tillman

Something else showing Tillman s strong work ethic is when he made a commitment he always
followed through. For example, when Tillman said he was going to run that marathon he made a
commitment and followed through with that commitment. One last piece of evidence, the word
passion always meant something to to Pat Tillman. He stated that he wanted to be remembered
by his passion. And his passion of playing football kept him playing and trying, another time is
when the passion to become a soldier came upon him. His passion to serve his country was a big

Oskar Schindler Comparison Essay
Comparing Oskar Schindler throughout Schindler s List Oskar Schindler was credited to saving
more than a thousand Jewish people s lives by having them work at his factory, but he didn t
always have the desire to save the Jews. Actually, throughout the whole movie he wore a Nazi pin
on his shirt. While the movie progresses Schindler goes from having the same viewpoint as the
Nazis to eventually siding with the Jews. Going through Schindler s miraculous change of heart is
very inspiring, and Schindler s List should be seen by all to understand such a terrible time in
our world s history. At the beginning of the movie, Schindler is seen getting ready to go to a
party with the SS officers and other people affiliated with the Nazis. He gets his money and all of
his other fancy things ready to go to the party, and lastly he fastens the Nazi pin on to his suit
jacket. At the time, he seemed to wear this pin proudly and supported the Nazi party. Another time

saw things were getting bad is when Stern forgot his work permit and almost got transported to
the camps. That is when Schindler started to make a change. First, he did it subtly by giving the
Jews water in the cattle cars and saying he was just washing them off or when he snuck chocolate
to Helen in the basement. After that, he started showing his support for the Jews even more like
when he kissed the Jewish girl on his birthday. Then, when he saw the crematorium he decided he
had enough and brought over a thousand Jews to work at his factory. He even started giving up
everything he had just to save the lives of the Jews that worked at his

Analysis Of Knights Chivalric Code In Monty Python
The medieval era was one full of strict codes and guidlines on how one should live and behave,
among these are the Bible, and most importantly knights chivalric code. It was this that a knight
valued above all other things, a knight was expected to rather die than be called a coward. This
code is heavily satirized in Monty Python. In the film many characteristics of a knight are
exaggerated and pointed fun at in various situations.
A knight above all things must be honorable and courteous. It is seen in Monty Python that
whatever possibly bizarre situation King Arthur gets himself in the very first reaction he has is to
be courteous and continuing politely with his question or point made where he eventually loses
and gives up on being courteous after being antaganized for why he bangs his coconuts together
or when requested to cut down a tree with a herring or why he is currently King of Britain. In the
first scene we see him very strangely act as though he is on a horse while he has his servant
carry all his belongings and bang coconuts together for the sound effect, it seems as though only
the knights of the round table do this because we see Roger the Shrubber ride on a carraige
drawn by horses so it is not unlike there is a scarcity of horses but rather the knights choose to do so!
A knight also is expected to be brave and heroic and outstanding, this is counteredby each knights
behaviors. First they choose to act as though they ride horses instead of buying them,

Circumcision Is A Debating Procedure For Many Years
Circumcision has been a debating procedure for many years. It is a procedure that means cutting
off the foreskin, or ring of tissue that covers the head of the penis. Circumcision is said to have
started many years ago and is a big part is some religions. For example, according to the book of
Genesis in the Torah, god made a covenent with Abraham (a Jewish patriarch) in which Abraham
and his decendents would be given great land riches, and success. There was only one catch,
Abraham, his descendants, any slaves purchased or born in his house hold by the eighth day of life.
If any failed to do so then they would be separate from his people and live without the favor of god.
Untill this day Jewish people have lived by that and is a strong religious belief. This procedure on
the Jews was called a bris or brit milah.
Even though circumcision was practiced in different areas of the world, it was first documented in
art form by the Egyptians. They circumcised because they believed it was a method of purification.
It later started making its way to other cultures, but nobody really knows why the practice spread
nor why it even started.
Many other countries removed the foreskin because they believed it marked entrance into
adulthood, to humiliate enemies, to identify those with higher social status, to enhance or limit
sexual pleasure. Also having your penis circumcised helped make it easier to maintain clean.
Normally circumcision was done at the age where they thought was

Women s Suffrage Rhetorical Analysis
The first meeting to discuss women s rights took place in 1848 at the Seneca Falls Convention in
New York. It was there that Elizabeth Cady Stanton proposed equal suffrage for women. At that
meeting, they drafted the Declaration of Sentiments which illustrated the oppression American
women were facing. Although countless, courageous women would sustain this fight, it would be
1920, 72 years later, before Congress ratified the 19th amendment which gave women the right to
vote (Timeline of Women s Suffrage). The defining moment in this long battle occurred in 1917
when Carrie C. Catt gave her magnificent speech on women s suffrage to Congress. Catt s use
of ethos, pathos, and logos, helped persuade Congress to pass the 19th amendment. Carrie
Chapman Catt used ethos as a method to alter Congress s view of women s suffrage. Women s
suffrage was not a new issue when Catt addressed Congress on November 4, 1917. This fight had
continued for over 70 years, and the audience of male, politicians, had heard this before. By
speaking of democracyand the principals, the United States was founded by Carrie addressed their
sense of patriotism and their moral compass. American principals are used as examples for freedom
worldwide; she stated, although no others democratic countries unequivocally disallow women the
right to vote. It is a death grapple between the forces which deny and those which uphold the truths
of the Declaration of Independence she continued (Catt par. 7). This was

Interviewing a Business Owner

Writing Assignment # 1: Interview a Business Owner
Due: January 7, 2009
For my interview I decided to pick the owner of the company I work for. The owner s name is J.
Kent McNew and he is the owner of Eastern Petroleum Corporation. The company is a petroleum
distributor of gasoline primarily through gas station outlets. Eastern Petroleum Corporation is a
Maryland corporation and its corporate office is located in Annapolis, MD. Mr. McNew sells
products in MD, VA, DC, and some in DE. The scope of the business is done in the Mid Atlantic

It also let me learn different things about the man who I work for, like where he came up with
the name and color of the company. But as I compare this interview to some of the information I
ve read in my textbook there are more advantages and disadvantages to being a corporation
compared to other business structures. The first advantage is the ownership change, it s easy to
change owners of a corporation all it takes is selling the stock to someone else. The disadvantage
would be the extensive paper work you have to file in order to start the corporation. After
interviewing my business owner it made me think about if I were to go into business what
business structure would I want ,and what would I name my business ,and what trade would I
use. I decided on naming my company Whitsitt Associates, I would have a business structure of
sole proprietorship and I would have the trade of owning a financial company. In conclusion I
enjoyed this first project of interviewing the owner of my company. It gave me a better
understanding about what it takes to be a business owner; it let me get a small taste of what life is
like in business owners a shoe. It also taught me a lot of new and interesting things I didn t know

Analysis Of The Prologue Of The Book By John Hinckley Jr.
In the prologue of the book it starts with an image of Ronald Reagan on his deathbed pressed
close to his desperate wife. It s a good picture to see what leads Regan to end up being in that
position. In the first chapter the reader is introduced to John Hinckley Jr. He seems like a pretty
typical twenty five year old man who has a strange obsession with an actress (Dugard and O
Reilly 13). This is only the future, right now, Reagan is having the time of his life, and doesn t
even have a clue that he will go into politics. In 1937 Reagan signed his first contract and became
a Hollywood actor (Dugard and O Reilly 19). His acting career is a success because he is a
handsome young man and very talented. By the end of his career, he had acted in 53 films.
Through his acting career he meets Jane Wyman and marries her. The hardest part of their
relationship was when his wife gave birth to their child too early and the baby did not make it
(Dugard and O Reilly 27). They had two other children together but they sent them away to a
boarding school. This causes their relationship to be rocky and in May 1948 Jane divorces Reagan
(Dugard and O Reilly 29). Regan does not react well to this and as an outcome he enters a life of
sleeping around and spending all his money on expensive restaurants and bars (Dugard and O
Reilly 34). On February 21st Reagan married Nancy and with her he had two children as well
(Dugard and O Reilly 49). Like Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reaganhad a wife that was

Infanticide Evolved As A Mating Strategy Fore Males
The evolution of infanticide has been researched by many scientists. It has been found that
infanticide evolved as a mating strategy fore males. (Boyko Marshal, 2009). Boyko and
Marshall (2009), explain that males will use infanticide when taking over a new group or for
bonding with a new female. It is an adaptive strategy that males use to reduce the time they have
to wait fore females to be able to have his offspring (Boyko Marshall, 2009). Broom, Borris
Koenig (2004) explain a similar hypothesis in their research. They outline that infanticide has a
reproductive advantage for the males, and it will only occur when 1) the infant is not their own, 2)
the loss of an infant enables the femaleto conceive sooner and 3) the malehas a high chance of being
kept for breeding (Borris, et al.,2004)
Lukas Clutton Brock (2014) explain that the main evolutionary cause for monogamy, other than
infanticide, was due to males not being able to defend and area large enough for more than one
females. Their research explains that this behaviour is derived from an ancestral state in which
males and females were living in undefined groups. (Lukas Clutton Brock, 2014). van Schaik
Dunbar (1990) also agree with this theory along with possible hypotheses for the evolution of
monogamy. They also proposed that monogamy evolved because it was advantageous for females.
The males would be vigilant against predators, and this would allow for females to spend more
time caring for their

Economics Of Singapore Essay examples
Introduction The Republic of Singapore celebrated its 42 years of independence in year 2007.
Situated at the southern tip of Malaysia, Singapore currently holds a population of 4.68 million
as of June 2007. At 704.0km2, it is ranked 4th in the world for its population density. During the
past four decades, the economy as measured by real Gross Domestic Product (GDP), multiplied
by over 20 times (Ghesquiere, 2007, p.11). As a small and extremely open economy, Singapore
long term survival is very much dependent on the ability to maintain its viable position and remain
afloat in the sea of global competition (Mun Heng et al, 1998, p.14). The discussion of this article

proved its resilience during the worst post war recession and experience exceptionally high
economic growth during the 42 years since its independence. For the period 1966 1973, the
economy expanded consistently at a double digit growth rate in real terms (Kum Poh, 1982,
p.1). Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant prices continues to rise at an annual rate of 8
percent till 2005. With population growth at 2.1 percent, per capita GDP increased by 5.8 percent
on average each year (Gesquiere, 2007, p. 12). As mentioned by Neo Chian, the education sector
has excellent growth prospects and can become a key contributor to our economy. In order to be a
premier education hub in the region, the government has poured in millions of dollars to provide
quality education for the locals as well as attracting foreigners to be educated here. While the
development of Singapore into an education hub is seen as a major economic opportunity,
Singapore also targets to be a tourism hub by 2015. Other factors contributing to the success to the
economy growth includes the export oriented economic policy framework, combined with state

  • 2. Kirksville Library Volunteers Case Introduction to Organization and Environment In regards to the Kirksville Library Volunteers Case, this is a medium sized public library located in a large, southern city. Non profit. Funding. In order for the library to function beyond the limits of its normal paid staff, the library relies on a large volunteerreserve of 75 volunteers. This library functions like many other libraries in its input, throughput, and output. It is most likely a non profit organization that is funded by sources such as taxes, grants, and private benefactors. The library also likely runs on a quarterly budget if not a yearly budget and it does not often have to change how things are done. Because of this, the library by definition falls into a placid environment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Volunteers would be guaranteed projects and tasks to do during their shift. In this situation there would only be one employee managing the 75 volunteers, again this may be too much for one person. Managing a lot of individuals can cause frustration for the selected employee who is managing the volunteers, thus disturbing morale in the workplace. The most practical solution for this management case would be to choose three to four serious, eligible and qualified volunteers to become Volunteer Coordinators. Each Volunteer Coordinator would be assigned to one section of the library e.g. circulation, technical services, or outreach and so on. They would be liaising with staff from the designated section, creating a list of projects and tasks that could be fulfilled by the volunteer. Previous communication issues would more than likely be solved between staff and volunteer coordinators. The Volunteer Coordinators would then select which category of the library volunteers would work, dividing them up evenly as possible. A trusting relationship will begin to form after the volunteer works in their designated section. One disadvantage of this arrangement could be that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The First Lady. Obama The First Lady When I first saw Michelle Obama it was in 2007 during the election trail. I did not really know much about her then, because I was only in the 5th grade and I was more into dolls and Disney channel than watching politics. I would hear my mother talk about her, but that is the most that I would know about her for a while. I started to really notice her win I started to see her on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel when she would do her guest appearance on some shows. I than started to hear about some of her works on fitness in America and the obesity rates. When Nickelodeon would have their Worldwide Day of play I would see some of the interviews that she would do. I started to hear about her food regulations that she has put through and heard some people and students complain about. Michelle Obamais a very smart woman and she is trying to get people to see that having good health can help them succeed. In all actuality she is there and doing somethings that other First Ladies have not done and is which in some ways she is a great First Lady. She is a woman to look up to for a few reasons. Michelle Obama has been working to help people and bring awareness to mental health issues. Some people may ask why they should listen to her. According to Barbara O Dair, Michelle Obama Has taken the lead on ending this stigma so sufferers, including, military personnel, veterans, and their families, can get the help they need (O Dair 36) She has met soldiers dealing ... At Preston High School, a senior portfolio is a requirement to graduate. For the portfolio, students must collect all of their accomplishments and report cards to place into a binder. The binder will then be presented to employees of businesses. Another example of a graduation requirement would be community service. For example, Maryland schools require 75 hours of studentservice. Based upon research, some experts say that community service should be voluntary; however, it gets students involved in the community, allows for better schooling, and gives students a better work experience. First of all, senior portfolios only expand upon the students themselves. Community service allows students to get involved with their community. Technically, the community helps pay for schooling, so it would be nice for the students to reciprocate by contributing to their hometowns. Students could get involved and contribute by picking up trash around the streets, or volunteering at the local food drive. By doing so, the teenagers will get to know the people of their community. They will also gain a knowledge of important town events such as the food drive or the community festivals. In addition, the students will learn about the community... • 8. Radiologic Encephalitis Research Paper Diagnosis and management Clinical syndromes are never pathognomonic for a paraneoplastic aetiology and a high index of clinical suspicion is important. Symptoms can be atypical, psychiatric or even fluctuating and PNS should often be in the differential diagnosis of otherwise unexplained severe neurological syndromes. Radiologic findings are especially important to rule out other possible causes; in case of PNS they often render aspecific findings. As an exception, CT and MRI reveal temporal lobe abnormalities in 65 80% of patients with limbic encephalitis (LE)(Dalmau and Rosenfeld 2008) and often some degree of cerebellar atrophy is seen in the chronic stage of predominantly cerebellar syndromes. Because of overlapping syndromes in separate antibodies, paraneoplastic antibodies should be searched for by screening rather than by focusing on a specific antibody. Unfortunately, not all patients with paraneoplastic syndromes have identifiable antibodies in their serum. If detailed history taking, thorough physical examination and high resolution computed tomography (CT) of chest, abdomen and pelvis do not show a primary tumor, whole body positron emission tomography (PET) or PET/CT may be the best screening method for locating the occult cancer(Patel et al. 2008). Besides, the type of antibody and paraneoplastic syndrome may suggest a specific underlying tumor and indicate more directed diagnostic tests, such as mammography (or MRI) when breast cancer is suspected. • 9. Cultural Methods And Forms Of The Bantu Migration In Africa The Bantu migration is the dispersal of the Bantu people from the region of Cameroon and the Congo area. The word Bantu does not refer to the people of the African expansion, but rather the African languages belonging to the people in the Niger Congo. Cultural influences that occurred, due to the migration of the Bantupeople, laid out the foundation for other Sub Saharan societies. Historians have used the collective information found by archeologists and other historians in order to draw conclusions about the Bantu Migration. Linguistics, agriculture, and different types of art have been the evidence needed to identify the cultureand the specific patterns of movement, during this period. Bantu speaking farmers are known to have spread through the Congo forests by the first millennium. The rapid spread of the Bantu people became evident in the fifth century; the iron working and crop cultivation of pumpkins, melons, and beans had become wide spread in central, eastern, and southern Africa. Although crop cultivation is an efficient way to track movement patterns, this paper will focus on the linguistics, genetics, and various art forms used to track the dispersal. Oral communication used by the Bantu people was one of the only ways to relay information. Verbal communication and the study of linguistics, in the instance of the Bantu Migration can be obscured because over familial generations and time the language changes, forms its own dialect, and develops for ... The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) is the organization that manages the OPTN, pretty much responsible for making and managing the connections between donors and recipients. Within the field of education there is a range of methods and practices which have been implemented by professionals, in order to improve the provision for learners. Some of the methods adopted may be due to government legislation. An example of this is the National Curriculum. It was introduced to establish a consistent approach to the teaching of all children, in maintained schools. It gives guidance on what should be taught for particular age groups and a set of level descriptors are also included to assess children by. Other practices are developed, within a schoolcontext, to address particular areas in need of improvement. Another familiar feature of both reflective and evidence based practice is that both practices share a common aim. They both strive for change and improvement (Atkin 1993 cited in Leitch Day 2000). Evidence is often gathered to support or justify particular practice. We look at trends in results to identify a particular weakness or strength. The optional statutory assessment grids are a great source of evidence for teachers, at the end of a year. They provide a breakdown of the types of questions that the children answered and show the percentage they got correct. In my school we analyse this data to show where there are gaps in the children s understanding. We then use this evidence to inform our teaching practice the following year, by targeting these particular areas in need of development. By looking at this example you can see how both evidence based and reflective practice are used. As practitioners we need to reflect upon this evidence to help it inform out teaching. Without doing this, these gaps may go unidentified and there would be no improvement in that particular area of the child s understanding. This example shows the reflection on action process. Although it is possible to say that both practices share a common aim it could be argued that the difference between the two is the way in which they are used (McMahon 1999). Often when practitioners reflect on their practice, it is then that they recognise a problem or dilemma. They do this by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to Mill, the only sufficient reason to criminalise certain behaviours and activities is if it causes harm to members of the society or society as a whole, harm to oneself is not a strong reason to criminalise behaviours as we have a right to individual autonomy. On the one hand autonomy can be used to argue for the rights of body modifications like for plastic surgery for aesthetic or sexual purposes but on the other hand the autonomy of BIID patients is heavily doubted. • 27. Character Analysis Of Bathsheba Everdene The pieces of Bathsheba Everdene s character do not fit together nearly so seamlessly as Elizabeth s do, because she is created by a male author. Hardy counteracts Bathsheba s independence and fiery disposition by giving her submissive romantic preferences. Hardy s attempt to create a strong female character by allowing Bathsheba to take charge of her fate seems to be overpowered by his fantasies about women s sexualities. While Bathsheba is dominant with her employees, she is timid and submissive with men she is attracted to. Not only is she submissive, but Hardy creates her to want to be that way. He takes a societal expectation and a personal fantasy and writes it into his supposedly revolutionary character s mind. While people are complex beings, and a strong independent woman with submissive romantic behavior is not out of the realm of possibility, it contradicts other statements Hardy makes about her character. Hardy shows that From the very outset, Bathsheba reveals her ambivalence about becoming, like most women, a visual and sexual possession; she wishes to live by her own rules and to take charge of her life (Wittenberg 137). In the same scene in which Bathsheba asserts her dislike of marriage due to her liking for independence, she tells Oak, her first suitor, that she wants a man to tame her (Hardy 26). The most likely reason for Hardy s inconsistencies in Bathsheba s characterization is simply that he was a man attempting to write a female character in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I wanted to learn how to write great lyrics for my songs and make melodies so that I may perform them to an audience. Professor in CSE, GNITC, Hyderabad, A.P., India, manikvpatil@gmail.com Abstract: In a global economy, mining the opinion relations between opinion targets and opinion words was the key to collective extraction. To this end, the most adopted techniques have been nearest neighbor rules and syntactic patterns. To improve the performance of these methods, we can specially design exquisite, high precision patterns. However, with an increase in corpus size, this strategy is likely to miss more items and has lower recall. In this paper proposes a novel approach based on the partially supervised alignment model, which regards identifying opinion relations as an alignment process. Compared to the traditional unsupervised alignment model, the proposed model obtains better precision because of the usage of partial supervision. Compared to syntax based methods, our word alignment model effectively alleviates the negative effects of parsing errors when dealing with informal online texts. The objective is to propose a method based on a monolingual Word alignment model (WAM). An opinion target can find its corresponding modifier through word alignment. For instance, Collins wants his readers to waterski across the surface of a poem / waving at the author s name on the shore (9 11), which means he wants the readers to feel enthusiastic and thrilled while reading poetry. Waterskiing is a daring and riveting sport that moves a person very quickly through the water. Therefore, Collins compares reading to waterskiing because he wants his readers to read through a poem like as if it were waterskiing across the surface of the water. The lake represents the poem in the stanza, and the reader is waterskiing across the poem because he or she has a better understanding towards the meaning. Therefore, it is easier for him or her to waterski across the poem (9 10). By the reader waving at the name of the author on the shore (11), this line is another way of revealing recognition towards the author s work. However, Collins transitions the mood from excitement to a harrowing imagery portraying what readers do to poetry. In the fifth stanza, Collins creates suspense because he states that the poem is being tied to a chair with rope and tortured for a confession by the readers (12 14). This vivid and dismaying imagery represents the poem as a prisoner being held captive and the reader as the torturer, who is trying to squeeze out an understanding. This period, known as the Dust Bowl, was caused by severe drought conditions and poor farming practices put into place without proper understanding of Great Plains ecology. Today, the threat of human induced global warming has caused some scientists to speculate that the Great Plains region is set to experience semipermanent drought conditions similar to what was experienced during the Dust Bowl. However, other scientists have claimed that conditions will be much tamer by comparison.. This inconsistency of results is discussed by Hoerling et al in their paper Is a Transition to Semipermanent Drought Conditions Imminent in the U.S. Great Plains? It has been found that infanticide evolved as a mating strategy fore males. (Boyko Marshal, 2009). Boyko and Marshall (2009), explain that males will use infanticide when taking over a new group or for bonding with a new female. It is an adaptive strategy that males use to reduce the time they have to wait fore females to be able to have his offspring (Boyko Marshall, 2009). Broom, Borris Koenig (2004) explain a similar hypothesis in their research. They outline that infanticide has a reproductive advantage for the males, and it will only occur when 1) the infant is not their own, 2) the loss of an infant enables the femaleto conceive sooner and 3) the malehas a high chance of being kept for breeding (Borris, et al.,2004) Lukas Clutton Brock (2014) explain that the main evolutionary cause for monogamy, other than infanticide, was due to males not being able to defend and area large enough for more than one females. Their research explains that this behaviour is derived from an ancestral state in which males and females were living in undefined groups. (Lukas Clutton Brock, 2014). van Schaik Dunbar (1990) also agree with this theory along with possible hypotheses for the evolution of monogamy. The Cms Software ( Cmssw ) 3.1 CMS SOFTWARE (CMSSW) The overall collection of software, referred to as CMSSW, is built around a Framework, an Event Data Model (EDM), and Services needed by the simulation, calibration and alignment, and reconstruction modules that process event data so that physicists can perform analysis. The primary goal of the Framework and EDM is to facilitate the development and deployment of reconstruction and analysis software. The CMSSW event processing model consists of one executable, called cmsRun, is configured at run time by the user s job specific configuration file that tells cmsRun which data to use which modules to execute, which parameter settings to use for each module, what is the order or the executions of modules, called path, how the events are filtered within each path, and how the paths are connected to the output files. The goal of L1 HGCAL software is to simulate the L1 electronics and data processing of the HGCAL to carry out analysis of the different objects. 3.2 WORKING The main concept used in this software is that it does the task of simulation of electronics and processing of data with the aim to study different options all together. This software works by creating various objects using factory and storing them in a vector. The TreeManager manages all these objects for creating branches in a root tree and filling them with required functions. There is a Tree Manager plugin class which will initially create a root tree using TFileService ( ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
