The document presents a comparative study of Ordinary Moment Resisting Frame (OMRF) and Special Reinforced Concrete Moment Resisting Frame (SMRF) systems in tall buildings under seismic load in Visakhapatnam. Using STAAD.Pro software and relevant Indian codes, the analysis includes buildings of varying heights (5 to 20 stories) with and without shear walls, focusing on design aspects such as shear wall orientation and serviceability. The research aims to provide guidelines for structural engineers regarding the efficiency and economy of using shear walls in seismic-prone regions.
