Research
The strength of my research was that it helped me create my final product
and also didn’t take long, the things that helped me be quick but still create a
good piece of game was the fact that I had some ideas already wrote down,
such as the design of the character and the characters surroundings. The
research helped my product by giving the right ideas to make my job easier
and I therefore I had enough time to do it. In my opinion in this final product,
there wasn’t any weakness in my research. I think I could put a bit more detail
(clouds, sun, plants). This would improve my work by making it look more
interesting and probably a bit more professional.
Planning
The strength of my planning was that I knew how the final product was going
to work out. My planning helped my product by giving me the right ideas,
such as how the character was going to look like and also the track and the
environment. The weaknesses of my planning was the fact that I don’t think I
got many ideas even know I think I have done well finding a character. I think I
can improve on the amount of detail I’ve put into my product, I could do this
by creating many more objects, obstacles, and just things that would make
my game look better. The effects of having more details would make the
product look more eye catching and also making the audiences notice that
the creator knew what he was planning to do as well as it makes it look a bit
more professional.
Time Management
I did not manage my time well as I have only done this week, after the
handing in time. I didn’t finish on time and I also think I could’ve done a bit
more detail in my work. There isn’t anything that I’d be able to do if I got extra
time because I took my extra time to finish my work.
Technical Qualities
The similarities of the two products are
the goal of the game, as you need to
collect all the collectables then get to
the end of the level and also the way it
is set out and the characters. The
differences between these two
products are the amount of detail
there is in it, on the official Mario game
there is detail to nearly everything,
such as the ground, the clouds and the
also the plants. Whereas in my game
there isn’t much apart from the main
character, a few spikes and three
collectable stars and a simple blue
background.
Aesthetic Qualities
I would say my work looks good, but I could definitely improve on it by
creating loads of things such as a cloud, sun and maybe some plants, as this
would give my game more detail and would look more creative and also more
interested as well as more professional. I think my work was creative, even a
bit more then the others. The fact that makes me think that, is the colourful
background and colourful ground. Whereas in my previous projects all I did
was just a black & white game with no colours. The main aspect I like about
my product is the character as it turned out pretty well in my opinion as well
as it is in a good quality (resolution wise). The thing I would improve is
probably the amount of details there is in it. I would give a bit more detail, for
example a cloud, sun maybe some plants. The strengths of my work is the fact
that I didn’t rush the animation bit so the character moves at the right speed
at the right time. The weakness of my product is probably the amount of
details again. This could be improved by creating some objects.
Audience Appeal
I have appealed to my audiences as I said that the product will be for 10-12
year olds and I would say it is just suitable as well as enjoyable for that age
group, it isn’t hard but still fun and challenging. Then I have also said that it
will be mainly for young male audiences, I think it is mainly for male
audiences because the character is a male and the colours have a darker
shaded, such as blue, grey and green. I also appeals because it is a game
where you don’t really need to focus on multiple things just like you would
have to in a football game where you need to stay focused and think wisely to
read your opponent and also build up your own attack, if it was a racing game
you would have to focus on your own lap time and the other racers time to
get to the top or stay up, in my game you don’t need to do any of those things
so that makes it relaxing as well as a game that will keep you entertained.

Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I like this game as it’s a simple but productive
game.
– It enquires to have bright colours
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Make it more of a challenge.
– Make us work for the winning prize.
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– It is colourful
– Creative
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Could be a bit more detailed
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
– I definitely agree with the fact that I should have put a bit
more detail in to it, the fact I agree with that is because I
know myself that there is not enough detail, because I
even said that I could have put some objects to my game,
such as clouds and sun.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
– The bit where it says “make us work for the prize” I
disagree with that because I said that it will not be hard
because its made for younger audiences, so older people
might find it easy because they are more patient so its less
challenging for them.
Peer Feedback Summary
The changes I would definitely make is the amount
of detail there is in the game, I would put more
details in to it, such as put some clouds, sun and
maybe some plants to make it look more eye
catching and also more professional. I would also
make sure that I managed my time much better and
actually stayed on track rather then focused on
something else that wasn’t part of the topic I have
been asked to do.
