3. Research
• I personally think there are several strengths and weaknesses for my research document.
One strength is that I included a wide variation of different existing products, this helped me
to decide which type of photography I was going to use. Another strength I found is that
using the questionnaire it aloud me to gather other peoples opinions on photography and
what they would like to see in the photos. This also clearly shows me if I choose to make my
photography on wildlife, it will show me the exact percentage of people who will like to see
the sort of photography. The research which I did will help me to improve my final
photographs because I will have feedback from the target market and other people who are
not included in the target market. Doing this will allow me to great the best photograph to
the best standard which is suit to a wider range of people.
• I personally think there are several strengths and weaknesses for my research document.
One weakness for my research document is that I spent to much time creating and asking
people two different interviews. This took long because I had to spend time creating the two
completely different interviews. After creating them I then I choose two people to separately
answer the different interviews at two different times. To improve this I would have to focus
a lot harder than I already did and complete both the interviews in a shorter time. Doing this
would have aloud me to spend more time on my actual project, such as having more time to
take a better range of photos.
4. Planning
• There are many strengths and weakness's for my planning documents. One
strength is completing my experiments power point. This is a strength because it
allows me to get gather all the best ways to complete my work such as the
different types of stereographic images. If I didn't’t experiment before creating my
final five photos then I would have spent a lot more time than I did because I
would have been using all the effects for the first time and would not fully know
how to use them. This helped my photographs because I was able to use all the
skills I had learnt during the experiment an use them on my own project.
• One weakness's for my planning is that my schedule, this is because I wasted my
time creating the schedule. This was a waste of time because I did not look at my
schedule when I was completing the final elements of my work. So I could have
spent more time improving my final photos and editing them in Photoshop.
5. Time Management
• When doing my work, thought-out completing my work I managed to keep
up with all of my deadlines for parts of my work. For example when
completing the editing of all my photographs, I realised that I was n0t
going to reach the deadline so a couple of days after college I went home
and managed to edit 2 more stereographic images which aloud me to be
able to hand all five of my stereographic panoramic photos in on time. If I
had more additional time, I would go through power point 1-5 making
sure I had made no silly mistakes and that I had completed all the power
points up to a professional standard. I also would have go to more
interesting places when I was taking my panoramic photos such as I would
have paid £4 to go up the top of Clifford's tower and taken a full 360
degrees panoramic photo graph of York's skyline. This would have given
me a fantastic photograph to edit of York's skyline with the sun setting in
the background.
6. Technical Qualities
• One similarity between my stereographic panoramic image is that both my image and the
professional image both line up perfectly and you cannot tell where the image has been
joined, this is because I only took a 180 degrees panoramic image so I had toe blur and use
stamp tool to blend together the edge of each side of the image.
• One difference between my photograph and the professional photograph is that my photo
has been taken as the sun is setting at night compared to the photo of Rio de Janeiro which
has been taken at mid day with a lot of bright blue sky and has a vibrant glow from
One other similarity is that both of
the images has been edited using
distort and edited the polar
coordinates to make the image look
like u has been turned into a small
little planet. I personally makes a
normal regular looking panoramic
photographic look a lot more
interesting and exciting to look at
other than normal panoramas
7. Aesthetic Qualities
I personally do think that my work does look good, this is because of
the unique looking stereographic panoramic image which makes a
normal panoramic photo turn in to a small tiny planet showing
everything in the normal photo into a spherical layout
Yes I do think that my work is creative because it is a very complicated
process to make a normal panoramic image look like it does in all five of
my final photographs.
The aspects of the photograph which I like are the different types of sun
positions in the photos, such as in one of the images the sun is setting
over the north Yorkshire moors which creates a deep orange glow over
the fields.
If I was to improve my work anymore, I would have gone to a very high
spot in the middle of York when the sun is rising and taken a photo of
York's skyline with the York minster in the background with the glow of
the sun rise reflecting throughout the image.
8. Audience Appeal
I have appealed very well to my target audience, this is because all over my photos have
included parts of York's main attractions for tourists. I have done this by taking panoramic
photos of place such as the York minster, Clifford's tower, the York gallery, the millennium
bridge and the north Yorkshire moors. This will appeal to tourists because I have gathered a
collection of a few of York's best places and edited them in to a unique but interesting way
which will appeal to my target audience. Also because I have collected mages of York's key
attractions I could prosily use the photos in a tourist booklet which would be sold at
airports, train stations or on any type of public transport.
Also from v=over viewing the results of my questionnaire I was able to fin out that 75% of
the people who took part in my survey wanted to see the photographs of landscape. This is
why I chose to take photos of York’s key attractions and the wide open landscape around
each individual attraction. This will help my target audience identify a lot more easier where
each attraction is in York.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I think that the photos was really good and up to a very
high standard
– I like the effects which you used to create the
stereographic panoramic image.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I would not have improved anything if I was to complete
this project
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I think that you have include a lot of detail in to all of your PowerPoints
and all the information you have talked about them in each different
slide.
– I also think that the you have a lot of differences in each of your
stereographic images. This makes your photos not boring to look at
because there is a wide variation between all of your photos.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– To improve your work, you could have stuck to your schedule
more so you had all of your work under control and not having
to rush anything to be completed by the deadline.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I really like the overall texture of the planet as it
shows the dexterity and uniqueness
– I like that you have made the ground in to a
silhouette and made the sky brighter than it
usually would be.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– To blend in the background and merge together
the sky with the ground.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
– I agree that to improve my work I should have stuck to my
schedule a lot more, this would have aloud me to hand I my
work right on delaines and not get behind at any point during
the project.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
– I disagree that to improve my work I could have blend
together the images after I have edited the polar
coordinates, this is because when I edited the images I
blended the image to the highest possible standard I
could which I personally think could not have been
improved any more.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
If I was to change anything on my photographs based on the feedback I
gathered from fellow pupils. It would be to stick to my schedule a lot more. If I
managed to this then I would have kept up with deadlines a lot better and I
would not have fallen behind at any point when I was finishing my productions
powers points such as power point 1-5.
I also would have spent more time writing up the information I gathered from
the interviews and my questionnaire. This means I would have been able to
collect some easy marks at the beginning of my project.
I finally would have spent more time in my experiments, this means that when
I finally came to edit my photos I would have had a lot more experience polar
coordinating the images to make them look like small little planets.
