Production Process Evaluation
Research
• For my research, I got this photograph off
the internet to experiment with all of the
different buttons on Photoshop.
• First I played with the Channel Mixer on
the picture to play around with the
colours given to me. I changed the sky to
a turquoise colour and made the trees
and part of the hill on the far right abit
more red to stand out.
• After all of that I changed the contrast of
the photo will using hue saturation to
make the hills look blood red and the sky
looking like a poisonous gas cloud.
• The research process was useful as it
helped me learn more of the useful tools
Photoshop has to offer. This meant that
when it came to doing my final product it
was fun and not as time consuming as I
had already got an idea of what I will use.
Planning
• The strengths of my planning was that as I went onto producing my final
product, what I wanted to do was already figured out so instead of playing
around with the tools given on Photoshop, I used the tools I needed to
produce my final product quicker and better than if I just used any tool that I
may not have wanted/liked.
• The whole process of planning aided my thoughts to produce the final
product. If I didn’t plan what I wanted to do, my final product would have
(most definitely) been different and I may not have liked the outcome so I
would have had to change it which would be time consuming. If I had wasted
time, I may not have finished on time which is also a good reason why the
stage of planning was useful.
• The only weakness of the planning stage was that I had so many tools that I
liked and such a short period of time to think about which ones to use. Also,
the tools that I liked were not similar at all and this meant that if I had picked a
different tool, my photograph would have been completely different.
Time Management
• I did complete my product on time. However, if I had longer my product
could have been improved as I could have used more tools and spent
more time refining the image itself.
• If I had more time to complete my product, I would have used my time
efficiently by using a few more tools to visually aid my photo. I could use
more tools, for example the Burn tool, which adds a nice darker effect
rather than changing the contrast which is good but doesn’t add a nice
effect.
• I tried to keep my time management by keeping up with deadlines as well
as constantly checking my work so everything
Technical Qualities
My landscape photo (top) is very similar to
the landscape photo (bottom) I found on the
internet in the sense that they were both
edited by using photoshop and the reason I
photoshoped my photo was to create a
beautiful atmosphere to an audience that
would look at the photo and think of
paradise.
Both images use the contrast tool from what
I can tell from my experience using
photoshop. The reason I used contrast was
to create a visual aspect of light and dark
without sectioning a part of my photo. This
makes the shadow natural to the photo.
Another similarity is that we use the same
colours. For example green for the grass but
also that kind of gritty brown/red colour for
the top of the hills. And the darkness as you
look further into the distance gives an edgy
effect.
Aesthetic Qualities
To me my work looks nice but I may
be slightly biased towards my own
work. I think the use of different
tools was creative and the way I
created the shadow and different
colour for the hills and sky was a
nice idea.
If I had more time I would play
around with more tools to see the
different effects I could add to my
photo to see if it would be more
appealing to my audience.
Audience Appeal
I think I have appealed to my target audience
as the work I have done was in response to the
answers I was given by the audience that took
my questionnaire. I think the contrast of light
and dark seen in all 3 photos is a really nice
aspect and would be appealing to the
audience. My product was meant to inspire
photographers aged 12 to 30 to go outdoors
and capture the beautiful scenery as it is and
create a spin on it by adding effects on the
computer to create a feeling of being in that
location in a different world or timeframe with
different conditions.
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the use of the colour mixer to change the colour of the whole
photo instead of just highlighting some areas which would have made
the photo look distorted.
– I like how you experimented with the same photo aswell as it shows
different effects you can use to create a sense of captivation.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Personally I think that If you had experimented with three different
pictures, it would look nicer than just 1.
– Also maybe using more than just the colour tools to add a different
effect.
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– Very beautiful scenery.
– I like how you’ve captured the sunset between the houses.
– Good positioning
– In focus.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
– Could have taken more than one image to have a variety
and get others to choose which one they like best.
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the landscape photo that has been taken and the colours added
to it.
– I also like how you have done three different final products using the
same image with different tools used on photoshop.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I think you could have experimented with the shape tool to create a
few more visual aspects and try get them to blend in with the photo.
– I also think the use of a bit more colour would really intrigue your
audience and draw in their intention
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree with the fact that the photo in general looked really nice with
the colours I had added to it using the various photoshop tools.
– I also agree that the photo taken is in focus and not blurry.
– Three different images instead of three identical would may have been
nicer aswell.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I Don’t disagree with any of the feedback I was given because it was
there opinion.
Peer Feedback Summary
If I had more time for my
photography project, I would
have gone out to get a lot
more pictures to edit on my
computer so that I had more
of a variety when it came to
the photos I could choose to
present.
I would have also
experimented with different
tools to see what effects I
could create for my final
product.
Most of the feedback I was
given told me that three
different photographs
would be nicer than just 1.
Was also told that maybe
if I added a bit more
colour.
This was good feedback as
it would make it easier to
please my audience and
give them what they want
to see.

  • 3. Research • For my research, I got this photograph off the internet to experiment with all of the different buttons on Photoshop. • First I played with the Channel Mixer on the picture to play around with the colours given to me. I changed the sky to a turquoise colour and made the trees and part of the hill on the far right abit more red to stand out. • After all of that I changed the contrast of the photo will using hue saturation to make the hills look blood red and the sky looking like a poisonous gas cloud. • The research process was useful as it helped me learn more of the useful tools Photoshop has to offer. This meant that when it came to doing my final product it was fun and not as time consuming as I had already got an idea of what I will use.
  • 4. Planning • The strengths of my planning was that as I went onto producing my final product, what I wanted to do was already figured out so instead of playing around with the tools given on Photoshop, I used the tools I needed to produce my final product quicker and better than if I just used any tool that I may not have wanted/liked. • The whole process of planning aided my thoughts to produce the final product. If I didn’t plan what I wanted to do, my final product would have (most definitely) been different and I may not have liked the outcome so I would have had to change it which would be time consuming. If I had wasted time, I may not have finished on time which is also a good reason why the stage of planning was useful. • The only weakness of the planning stage was that I had so many tools that I liked and such a short period of time to think about which ones to use. Also, the tools that I liked were not similar at all and this meant that if I had picked a different tool, my photograph would have been completely different.
  • 5. Time Management • I did complete my product on time. However, if I had longer my product could have been improved as I could have used more tools and spent more time refining the image itself. • If I had more time to complete my product, I would have used my time efficiently by using a few more tools to visually aid my photo. I could use more tools, for example the Burn tool, which adds a nice darker effect rather than changing the contrast which is good but doesn’t add a nice effect. • I tried to keep my time management by keeping up with deadlines as well as constantly checking my work so everything
  • 6. Technical Qualities My landscape photo (top) is very similar to the landscape photo (bottom) I found on the internet in the sense that they were both edited by using photoshop and the reason I photoshoped my photo was to create a beautiful atmosphere to an audience that would look at the photo and think of paradise. Both images use the contrast tool from what I can tell from my experience using photoshop. The reason I used contrast was to create a visual aspect of light and dark without sectioning a part of my photo. This makes the shadow natural to the photo. Another similarity is that we use the same colours. For example green for the grass but also that kind of gritty brown/red colour for the top of the hills. And the darkness as you look further into the distance gives an edgy effect.
  • 7. Aesthetic Qualities To me my work looks nice but I may be slightly biased towards my own work. I think the use of different tools was creative and the way I created the shadow and different colour for the hills and sky was a nice idea. If I had more time I would play around with more tools to see the different effects I could add to my photo to see if it would be more appealing to my audience.
  • 8. Audience Appeal I think I have appealed to my target audience as the work I have done was in response to the answers I was given by the audience that took my questionnaire. I think the contrast of light and dark seen in all 3 photos is a really nice aspect and would be appealing to the audience. My product was meant to inspire photographers aged 12 to 30 to go outdoors and capture the beautiful scenery as it is and create a spin on it by adding effects on the computer to create a feeling of being in that location in a different world or timeframe with different conditions.
  • 10. Feedback 1 • What did you like about the product? – I liked the use of the colour mixer to change the colour of the whole photo instead of just highlighting some areas which would have made the photo look distorted. – I like how you experimented with the same photo aswell as it shows different effects you can use to create a sense of captivation. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – Personally I think that If you had experimented with three different pictures, it would look nicer than just 1. – Also maybe using more than just the colour tools to add a different effect.
  • 11. Feedback 2 • What did you like about the product? – Very beautiful scenery. – I like how you’ve captured the sunset between the houses. – Good positioning – In focus. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – Could have taken more than one image to have a variety and get others to choose which one they like best.
  • 12. Feedback 3 • What did you like about the product? – I liked the landscape photo that has been taken and the colours added to it. – I also like how you have done three different final products using the same image with different tools used on photoshop. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – I think you could have experimented with the shape tool to create a few more visual aspects and try get them to blend in with the photo. – I also think the use of a bit more colour would really intrigue your audience and draw in their intention
  • 13. Peer Feedback Summary • What do you agree with from your peer feedback? – I agree with the fact that the photo in general looked really nice with the colours I had added to it using the various photoshop tools. – I also agree that the photo taken is in focus and not blurry. – Three different images instead of three identical would may have been nicer aswell. • What do you disagree with from your peer feedback? – I Don’t disagree with any of the feedback I was given because it was there opinion.
  • 14. Peer Feedback Summary If I had more time for my photography project, I would have gone out to get a lot more pictures to edit on my computer so that I had more of a variety when it came to the photos I could choose to present. I would have also experimented with different tools to see what effects I could create for my final product. Most of the feedback I was given told me that three different photographs would be nicer than just 1. Was also told that maybe if I added a bit more colour. This was good feedback as it would make it easier to please my audience and give them what they want to see.
