This document summarizes two experiments conducted by the author. In the first experiment, the author recreated the effect of a kaleidoscope lens by stamping and duplicating an image of musicians to create reflections. Colors and layers were then adjusted to achieve a refracted look. In the second experiment, the author applied and adjusted motion blur to layers of an image to learn how to control blur effects for use in portraits. The author concluded they gained skills in Photoshop tools and color editing from the first experiment and learned how to apply and control motion blur for backgrounds from the second experiment.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
2. Experiment 1
Original
I chose to recreate a kaleidoscope lens and
they are a common feature that are used in
concert photography. Some artists that I
looked at uses different lenses to achieve
different effects however this one stuck out to
me. I have my own lens however I would like
to take the high quality photos and then in
post production manipulate the lens. When
researching I saw that it is was a long step
guide but had a good effect on the image.
Doing it this way require no budget spent and
works well of different types of images.
3. Process:
The original image I used from Pinterest and then uploaded it onto photoshop so I could edit.
I started by creating a copy of the layer so that if any mistakes were made then it could be easy redone. I
then used the stamp stool and put the focus point of the musicians nose. I then stamped the musicians face
to the side of the main image until it started the look like a reflection. Every time I place a new copy from the
stamp tool, I made sure to go back and make sure the focal point was on the musicians face. I repeated the
process until I was happy with the amount of projections they're were. I then changed the opacity of the
stamps as I felt like they were too strong and covering the original image too much. I also used the eraser
tool to remove some of the stamps covering the original face. I then went to the colour balance tool and
changed some of the colours so the image was more blue than green. I cropped the image. I then duplicated
the overlayer 3 time so that I could create an rgb split effect that there's a refraction that a kaleidoscope
would create. I then went to blending options and uncheck the green and blue. Then I went to the next layer
and uncheck the red and blue. Then a went onto another layer and unchecked red and green. And then I
used my arrow keys and moved each layer 4 pixels either left, right or up. I then merged all the layers
together.

5. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– I feel like this experiment has been very useful to
me in refreshing my knowledge of photoshop and
using different tools. I got to play with the colour
editing with is something I think I will use in my
final portfolio. I think my final outcome of the
experiment gives me an opportunity to change
the look of my portfolio and stand out from other
more simplified images.
6. Experiment
2
I wanted to experiment with some
visual effects that I could control. I
chose to work with motion blur so
that in my final project I have to
option to edit some backgrounds
that could appear blurry. This
gives me the option to do that
manually with my camera or work
with it in post production. I saw
that motion blur can be very
common in portrait photography
to create different meanings. I
learnt that it is a fairly simple
process and can be experimented
with
7. Process
First I selected the figure which was the main image of him
driving the car. Then I went to select and mask and made it as
clean as possible by adjusting the smooth and feathering of
the mask. Then I isolated my masked image and created my
own layer with it. I then copied the same layer and clicked the
eye tool to hide it to that I could use it for later. I then clicked
on the layer that is still visible and went to filter and clicked on
motion blur.
This is where is experimented with the angel and the distance
to see what I preferred. Then I created aa layer mask and
clicked the brush tool and made sure I was going to use the
soft round brush. I made sure my colour I was using was black
and on the masked layer. I then painted over where I didn’t
want the motion blur to appear. I then selected the smudge
tool to exaggerated any areas I wanted and had the strength
around 30% as I felt like any higher was too strong. Finally I
turned on copied layer I did earlier on in the process and
repeated the process however I changed the distance of the
blur and the angle. I finally used the level panel to adjust the
colours of my image.

8. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– I think gives me the option to either use
experiment with my aperture with my camera and
edit parts that worked well in the image and areas
that didn’t work well. I think that fact that I can
erase where the motion blur appears will help
with my project.
