Mujers Fibres Research Paper
The anarchist/women s rights organization Mujeres Libres was a pioneering force in the egalitarian
movement. The organization faced much backlash during its existence solely because it was an
organization of anarchist women during a time when patriarchy and nationalism were the dominating
norms. Therefore, the group had to overcome many obstacles put in place by Spanish society to prove
themselves as both a women s rights and an anarchist organization. Mujeres Libres used this unique
intersection between anarchism and women s rights to bring a distinctive and specialized approach to
equality that proved to be effective for giving a voice to silenced anarchist women.
Though political fluctuation was abundant in early 1900s Spain, one constant within the society was
its predominantly patriarchal nature. It was a society in which power was not associated with women,
because women were not viewed as equals to men. Consequently, women lived very restricted lives;
their place was limited to the household and their was worth determined by whether or not they were
married or by how submissive they acted towards men. Because of the society s expectations that
women should assume roles within the home, there was a vast discrepancy between the educational
levels of men and women. Higher education was exceedingly rare among Spanish women and female
illiteracy rates reached nearly 70%. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After its creation, Mujeres Libres encountered extensive backlash from other anarchist groups
involved in the Spanish Civil War. These other groups argued that because Mujeres Libres was only
open to women, it encouraged defined hierarchies and only furthered the separation between men and
women. Azucena Barba, a member of Mujeres Libres, addressed the absurdity of these

Cost Synergies: How Merger Models Incorporate Managerial Accounting Methodologies Introduction
According to the Merriam Webster online dictionary, a synergy is defined as a mutually advantageous
conjunction or compatibility of distinct business participants or elements (as resources or efforts) .
When applied exclusively in a business context, synergies are realized improvements in efficiency, as
well as reductions in cost, resulting from the cooperation of two or more entities. These improvements
are derived from the elimination, and consolidation, of redundant activities and tasks between the
operations of disparate business units. In the following paragraphs, I will describe how and when
synergies are used to initiate certain business ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Supply chain management, human capital management, and a myriad of other functional areas have
become focus areas for synergistic analysis. These types of synergies are commonly referred to as
operating synergies. Conversely, financial synergies, such as debt capacity and tax benefits serve to
increase cash flow or reduce the firms cost of capital. Favorable operating and financial synergies
provide the justification to enact the reorganization of the business through merger activity. Despite
the importance of operating synergies to the organization s overall synergy strategy, this paper will
focus almost exclusively on the financial outcomes of such analyses. How are synergies achieved? In
a nutshell, all synergies can be expressed using the following rudimentary equation: 1 + 1 = 3 The idea
that the sum of the parts is greater than that of the individual components is the driving assumption
behind the synergistic approach to business reorganization. In today s corporate climate, synergies are
at the forefront of acquisitive growth strategies which attempt to supplement internally generated
(organic) growth with targeted acquisitions of existing entities or through business combinations. The
goal of these transactions is to achieve a return on investment that exceeds the returns generated by
each party prior to the deal. These returns can be measured in terms of cost reductions, increased
revenues, and in some instances a

Pros And Cons Of A Nuclear Family
1).Write at least four pros and cons for each type of family discussed
Nuclear Family
Nuclear Family is a household consisting of father, mother and children. Four pros and cons of this
type of family are as follows:
PROS
Strength and Stability
Two parent families, whether married or common law relationship, tend to be more stable. Partners or
spouses are role model of a loving, caring and supportive relationship for their children. This will
transform into future accomplishment by teaching children how to seek out positive relationships and
interact well with others. These children will benefit from watching their parents work together to
solve problems, assign domestic responsibilities and support each other through positive and negative

Four pros and cons of this type of family are as follows:
PROS
Discipline
This should be easier with two adults but the truth is that it is often easier with only one particularly if
the other one fails to agree with the type of discipline involved.
Competition
Most times mother and father are in competition for a his or her child love but if the other partner is
not involved in the child s life or less interested in bringing up that child, the single parent can face no
significant competition for their child s love.
Individual Time
Each child needs his or her time alone with their parent because nothing says I love you like parents
spending time with their children. When a parent is by themselves, it is a challenge to find time alone
with each child sufficient to meet the needs, but it is worth it!
Peaceful Atmosphere
Most single parents are in that situation because they have left a family which has looked more like a
conflict zone. While any class of parenting may be stressful and may cause hostility within the family,
hostility between mother and father can often be the most destructive, so one advantage of parenting
alone is having a peaceful atmosphere in the

Anthracene Solubility
The experiment contains two procedures: the solubility tests, and macroscale recrystallization of
chosen solutes and solvent. The solubility tests were performed with all the solutes, which were
phthalic acid, naphthalene, anthracene, benzoic acid, and resorcinol. The three solvents were water,
methanol, and acetic acid. Solubility tests were carried out at both low and high temperature
conditions, depending on the substance. The most efficient pair was acetic acid and anthracene, which
was chosen for the second part of the experiment. In the macroscale procedure, 47.57% of anthracene
was recovered. The crystals had a powdery physical appearance. There were several errors in the

A solute and solvent were chosen from the list to start with. Around 10 mg of solid and 0.25 mL of
solvent were added to a clean reaction tube. A pipette was useful in transferring the solvent to the tube.
The mixture was stirred with a glass stirring rod. If the substance was completely dissolved at room
temperature, a few drops of water would then be added to see if the solid precipitated. If so, the
solution would be heated to boiling point in a sand bath. The hot saturated solution was left
undisturbed for a period of time, before the crystals formed. In case that the substance could not
dissolve at room temperature, it would have to be heated and further observed. If the solid dissolved
entirely, the substance was considered soluble in the hot solvent. On the other hand, if some but not all
dissolved, it was noted as moderately soluble. Continually, the solution was allow to cool down,
before it was reheated to dissolve the solid. The solution stood undisturbed until crystals were formed.
Solubility tests were performed on all possible solvent solute pairings. The most efficient pair was

Summary Of The Book A Clockwork Orange, Burgess By...
In the fiction world, writers have an idea of creating society with perfect human morals but
establishing those ideas to real life people can see that there is no such thing as perfect. Anthony
Burgess incorporates this idea into many of his works which accentuate many dark points in his life;
he lost both, his mother and sister at a young age, and his first sexual experience was when he was
seduced by an older woman (41 Facts on Anthony Burgess). The fact the Anthony had many
occupations such like a linguist, critic, poetic, etc. show the vast amount of knowledge and views he
has on the world. He also loved to mix in human nature with religion, trying to help express the nature
of both and the good and evil each represent. Anthony Burgess ... Show more content on

humble narrator. It is not naturally glorified that violence is a pleasant thing but the he audience laughs
at Alex s actions, which suggest that comedy reveals the basic contradictions of human nature and of
social relations (Bloom). In one of the his poems in Inside of Mr. Enderby, a young man becomes
irritated due to the fact that he is surrounded by joyful activities, Sick of the sycophantic singing, sick
of every afternoon s compulsory games, sick of the little cliques of county names, he let the inner time

audience that violence is essential for human nature. This poem helps highlight the fact that not
everyone feels the same about different things, because the boy is not content even though everyone
else is. The sonnet Eden shows a young boy trying to clean himself of blood in a lake in this case the
blood represent sin. The setting in this work is in the biblical reference to the Garden of Eve, the boy
knowing that having blood (sin) on his hand act on his own to cleanse himself. He, in a way shows
panic because he cannot clean it off and even so continues to do so. In each work Burgess implements

Research Paper On The Globe Theatre
The Globe Theatre was one of the most famous theaters of all time. It was famous for being the main
location of many Shakespearian plays, for having a unique architectural layout from other buildings,
and for being a main attraction for many people during the Elizabethan Era and the Modern Era.
The Globe theatre was built in 1599 and is very famous for having a unique architectural layout that
was different from other buildings during the time period. It was built from oak, deal, and stolen
playhouse frames. It is a large circular structure that is three stories tall and has a straw covered roof.
It looks similar to what a football stadium looks like today because the middle of the theatre is open.
The Globe theatre was built to hold about 3,000 people. Construction of the theatre was started by
Cuthbert Burbage because the lease on an older theatre had expired. The location of the Globe Theatre
was not actually in the central part of London but rather in an outlying district called Southwark on the
Thames River.
The Globe Theatre was the main spot where Shakespearian plays were performed during the
Elizabethan Era. The first play that is known to be shown in the Globe Theatre was Julius Caesar in
1599. Many other plays such as Hamlet, Macbeth, and Pericles, Prince of Tyre. The Globe Theatre

Effects Of Adhd On Children With Adhd
Andrew Youngers Ms. Aukes English II 17 September 2015 Overdiagnosis Of ADHD Medication
Four percent of all children in the United States Of America are diagnosed with ADHD ( When Will
America Just Say No ). From 2008 2012 the rate of children diagnosed with ADHD went up 30
percent ( While there are this many diagnoses not all of them are correctly given. Some people pretend
to have ADHD so that they can abuse the medicine with it. This is one of the reasons people are
divided at giving their child the medication and not. Although some people think their diagnoses is
correct, a lot of times it s not and it could be solved by making the test more complex because we don
t want children on medication they don t need, it can have harsh side effects, and pretty much anyone
who wants it can get it for their own reasons. The rate of children diagnosed with ADHD increases
every year. To be exact, on average it climbs 3 5% every year ( The Pill That Teachers Push ). It seems
like an epidemic, but this is not the case. Studies show that back when ADHD wasn t such wide spread
knowledge, there were a lot less people coming in believing their child has this disorder. Before
ADHD was an actual disorder that you could be diagnosed with, it was viewed as a moral problem
with the child. For a lot of the present day instances, it still is. It seems like more and more people are
trying to figure out why their child is not behaving and the parents seem to jump to the conclusion that

Foreclosure In The Orphanage
In the film, The Orphanage, directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, the character of Laura exemplifies
individuals in society that are exposed to hardship and traumatic events, thereby searching for a true
sense of closure in order to fully resolve the problem and eventually recover and move on from the
past. To start off, towards the beginning of the film, Laura demonstrates an example of an individual
that has faced a horrific event which was left unsaid or unfinished. The dreadful idea of losing an only
child is truly indescribable, however, this is the scenario that Laura must face and move on from.
Moreover, it seems as if Laura has had no chance to say goodbye, or has no idea where/what happened
to her son, thus triggering this unfound closure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Closure truly allows an individual to gain a complete and satisfactory resolution to his/her problems,
releasing agony and allowing satisfaction and comfort. Closure is not only a sign of endurance and
faith, but also a sign of ease and tranquility from a past trauma that haunts the living daylights out of
someone. It also allows individuals to successfully move on from the dreadful past into a hopeful
future. Moreover, closure is the magic that triggers healing, it cures the past scars and wound one
experiences in their life. In a like manner, Laura was an individual that faced many hardships and grief
because of this unfound closure towards her son, Simon. Indeed Laura never fully became satisfied
with her life and her situation until she fully gained closure and an answer to what really occurred,
thereby easing her pain and allowing her to restore her faith. Likewise, I myself have gone through a
period in my life where grief and sadness of the death of my grandparents overwhelmed my physical
and emotional self being, the guilt and sadness not allowing for a full recovery. However, when I truly
seeked out closure or an answer to how I could allow myself to accept reality and move on, then and
only then did the process of healing invade my heart. Truly, hardship can only be fought with closure,
as the one who bails to find the truth, losses the opportunity to recover fully, and lives the rest of his
life in regret and gloom. Always seek out closure as it opens your heart to acceptance and strengths is

Date of the experiment: 01/29/2016
Title: KINETICS OF ALCOHOL OXIDATION
Drexel University Winter 2016
Introduction:
This report concerns the experiment of determining the order of reaction and the kinetic rate constant
of alcohol oxidation. This experiment relates to the knowledge of chemical kinetics, the application of
Beer s Law, and other calculations.
Chemical kinetics involves the examination of reaction rates, which are the speeds of chemical
reactions. There are chemical reactions which proceed in long periods of time as well as chemical
reactions proceeding in short periods of time. Regarding reaction rates, the reaction order and kinetic
rate constant are considered.
Take a general reaction in solution for instance: aA+bB⇌Product(s) The reaction rate is calculated
using the following function: rate=k〖[A]〗^x 〖[B]〗^y
Where [A] and [B] are the concentrations of A and B in the solution, unit: mol/L or M; x and y is the
reaction order of A and B respectively; k is the kinetic rate constant, its unit depends on the order of
the reaction.
The values of x and y are the partial order corresponding to A and B. The sum of x and y is the overall
reaction order. The values of x and y can be either negative or positive. They can also be either integer
or fractional. The reaction rate can be understood as how fast the reactants are consumed or how fast

Evolving Federalism Essay
Evolving Federalism
Pre Class Assignment
Federalism by definition is the division of power between a central government and its participating
members. How that power is divided is the subjective aspect of federalism that was before the framers
of the United States. Through compromise and necessity the seeds for a strong central government
were planted alongside already strong state governments. Over time the seeds for strong central
government grew; wars, economic fluctuations and national growth established a strong central
government. As America s idea of federalism changed the central government grew more powerful,
the state s government gave more power away, and local governments were established. ... Show more

Schreiber s fifth and final stage is the post World War II era. Here, creative federalism is born.
Creative federalism points to a strong centralized government that initiates federal programs to fight
poverty, hunger, crime, and other social issues. This stage sees a noticeable increase of power given to
the national government by the Warren Court.
Schreiber concludes by describing a struggle between cooperative federalism and creative federalism.
He sees these two models of federalism in competition with one another on how power will be
distributed between the three levels of government. This is best described by Russell Hanson, in
Governing Partners, as competitive federalism , which is the idea that the three levels of government
must compete for power in a zero sum game.
It can be argued that we now are in a sixth stage that can be defined as competitive federalism. Recent
struggles involving gay marriage, education, tax reform, and anti terrorism funding prove that a
struggle for power between the three levels of government is ongoing.
The issue of education best exemplifies the changing nature of intergovernmental relations. State and

The Role Of Cognitive Dissonance In Society
In such a vast world of creation choices and opposites the topic of cognitive dissonance is all but
inevitable. From its pure form and early research too its expanded and evolved form in present day it
has always been prevalent. In this paper i plan on evaluating this mindset and finding not only ways to
solve this problem but its importance in society since its discovery.
Cognitive dissonance is the concept of two opposed ideas that cause either a change in one s life
beliefs or morals. This refers to a situation involving conflicting attitudes, beliefs or behaviors. This
produces a feeling of discomfort leading to a change in one of the attitudes beliefs or actions to reduce
the discomfort and restore balance. For example, when people smoke (behavior) and they know that
smoking causes cancer (cognition), they are in a state of cognitive dissonance. This concept of
cognitive dissonance can expand to a much deeper sense. From people s everyday habits and changes

and the majority of the clothing worn in the movie. In addition to furthering the film s theme, colors
are further used to indicate the changes in time throughout the movie. For instance, in the opening
scene where Scottie s fellow police man falls to his death from the roof top after attempting to save
Scottie during a rooftop chase, darkness and the color blue dominates the screen to indicate that the
event took place during the night (Blakesley 118). The same color is used in night scenes throughout
the film to make it clear to the viewer the exact time of day that the events in the movie took

The Torus Shaped Vessel
2.3 Diverter Applications
The diverter is located at the bottom of the torus shaped vessel and is designed to extract heat from the
plasma as well as the exhaust fumes of the reaction occurring which are helium and any impurities
from the first wall of the reactor. The basic concept of a diverter used within a tokamak design can be
understood better by looking at figure x which is a diagram of JET after it had a divertor fitted. The
separatrix is the last field line which contains the plasma. The magnetic field transports the plasma to
the diverters at the bottom as shown where the heat energy strikes the diverter target plates and
conducted to pipes where it is then removed through either a water or helium cooling system and the
exhaust gases are extracted by a vacuum.
The diverter itself is made up of several components shown in figure x. The plasma facing
components are the two vertical targets and dome. A closer look at one of the vertical target in figure x
shows how the cooling system works with a pipe with cooling fluid flowing through it is fitted
through blocks of armour material which make up the targets.
Looking to the future as projects grow in size towards DEMO, which will be a functioning fusion
power plant, the demands on materials especially PFC s are going to increase. For ITER the plasma
facing components for the divertor are to be made of carbon fibre reinforced carbon composite s
(CFC) and some sections tungsten armour materials but for DEMO

Greek Influence On American Culture
When you say Greece, you think of breathtaking paradisiacal landscapes, a civilization and a
millennial culture that have set footprints on the whole world, wonderful legends with gods and
nymphs, warm and hospitable people who have a great respect for the past and who, above all, love
life. Greece has millions of inhabitants who know how to take advantage of what nature and history
have given them more, representing a model to be followed for many countries in the field of tourism
promotion. That s how anyone who gets to her lands has memorable experiences that she will surely
want to repeat. Considered by many as the cradle of Western civilization, Greece has a long and rich
history, during which has widespread influence on three continents. In the Encyclopedia Britannica,
we can read that Greece is a country located in the Southern Europe, southern Balkan Peninsula. It is
bordered by Albania, Macedonia, Turkey and Bulgaria and also ... Show more content on

Due to its geographical position, Greece has been occupied by many countries who wanted to subdue
it and exploit it. At the same time, these peoples had a special influence on the Greek culture and
society. As for the religion of this country, although the Ottoman Empire administered this territory for
a long time, most of the population belongs to the Orthodox religion, and a small percentage to the
Muslim religion. Also, a small number of people belong to Protestant and Jewish religions. One very
important thing to mention in relation to Greek society is that the Greek society is made up of united
families. The family in this society is very important. Women in Greek society are of particular
importance, having access to good education, unlike other societies where the woman is not respected
and has no right to education.. Tradition and religious practices represent a social lifestyle of the

Analysis Of The Article How A Cockpit Remembers Its Speed
One day after reading Hutchins How a Cockpit Remembers its Speed, I was on an airplane flying to
Montreal for the weekend. I took special care to look for the raising and lowering of the slats and flaps
that Hutchins described in his article I m happy to say I was able to give a rudimentary description to
my girlfriend as to what was going on as we took off and landed! Hutchins argued that there are many
representations that are inside the cockpit system, yet outside the heads of the pilots (pp 267). This
first point I agree with; however, he goes on in the discussion to conclude that the cockpit systems
remembers its speeds (pp 286). While Hutchins and I agree that the pilots are the focal point of the
cockpit, I wouldn t go as far as to say that cockpit remembers its speed. The cockpit is certainly a
complex system, with many elements combining to create the phenomenon of an aircraft that can
control its speed and maneuver the skies, but without the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In one of my others courses, Cognition and Learning, we learned that students learn best when they
are able to ascribe meaning to a memory. Rather than simply walking around a museum reading
scholarly writings on the wall next to exhibits, the interactive tracing sounds like an ideal alternative.
The authors also predicted possible deleterious effects of visitors who produced misconceptions, but
argued that experts would counteract this effect by responding correctly. I think that the amount of
these deleterious effects would depend on the type of museum. While traces may work great at a high
brow museum such as The Louvre, it may not work as well where misconceptions can run rampant,
such as at a science

Why Is Texas A Big State
Texas, also known as the Lone Star State, is a big state. It s not just big in size, but in population,

Friendship . Texas is such a large state that in the west it is very dry and in the east it is very humid.
People experience natural disasters like floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, and droughts too.

Moving Home Case Study
The moving process is stressful because the transition from the previous occupancy to the new one isn
t seamless. Gaps need filling, and a common gap to fill is living arrangements. In case you must move
out of the previous residence quickly and can t move to the new residence for a few weeks or months,
temporary housing exists to fill the in between time. It also works for mortgage/real estate delays,
moving company scheduling issues, and relocation hiccups. Temporary housing ranges from a room
offered by another occupant or a luxury apartment.
Friends and Family

Rental Housing
Six month gaps, one year gaps, 18 month, or two year gaps should consider rental housing as a

Essay On I Have The Right To Bear Arms
Within the past half century, gun control has become a heated debate topic between Americans.
The United States Federal government should not increase gun control regulations. The second
Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states, A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of
a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. By this, it is
understood that each citizen has the right to possess firearms and use them under the realms of a
cautious manner. This amendment was written under the intentions of protecting Americans from
dangers, both foreign and domestic. After experiencing the tyranny of Britain, Americans wanted to
ensure protection for both themselves and their loved ones from ... Show more content on

At certain points in history, gun sales to civilians have been prohibited by law. In 1976, Washington
D.C. implemented a gun ban that potentially worsened the city s homicide rate. According to the
Metropolitan Police Department, annual homicides rose from 188 in 1976 to 364 in 1988 and
continued increasing to 454 in 1993. The gun ban was struck down by the Supreme Court in District
of Columbia v. Heller and since, homicides have steadily declined to 88 annual murders in 2012. This
statistic shows that depriving the right to bear arms from law abiding citizens is ineffective in
decreasing the number of homicides as criminals will find a way to obtain a gun even with a gun ban
in place. The law abiding citizens will be left vulnerable as the criminals will have defenseless victims
to attack. The United States has attempted to put gun bans into place in the past. However, these
regulations have been repetitively ineffective. Because of the ineffectiveness of gun bans and the
overall counter result of an increase in homicides, it would be in best interest, for the safety of
Americans, to not implement an increase on Federal gun control

The Importance Of Setting In Blood Red Horse
The setting creates challenges and opportunities for characters. For example when Ellie was left
vulnerable and when the climber in the poem Ascent has finger pain. In all different genres, setting
affects the text whether it s physical challenges or emotional challenges.
In the novel Blood Red Horse, the author, K.M Grant, uses the setting to add conflict, challenges, and
opportunities to the story. In Blood Red Horse the setting, which is in the time of the crusades, affects
the character Ellie as it leaves her defenseless. In Blood Red Horse, the author writes, I do know you
can no longer marry Gavin De Granville. This means you will be fair game for knights on the prowl

Hitler And The Nazi Party
Nazism in America Probably one of the most infamous political groups in history were the Nazis, a
party created and lead by Hitler, an equally awful man. The Nazi party was based in Germany, and
many Germans had fallen prey to their deception through their immoral methods, but it was a true
surprise when Americans started to become ensnared by their deceit as well. After WWI, Germany
was in ruins; so many Germans immigrated to the US. Some of these immigrants fit in quite well into
American society and carried on to be loyal citizens. However some were very hostile to assimilate
into society, those who were humiliated and scared by Germany s economy and of the backlash of the
war, yet still stuck to their pride to an extreme. People like this created Nazi sympathizing parties in
the US, such as the American Bund. The American Bund, lead by Fritz Kuhn a chemical engineer
from Munich dubbed the American fuehrer by the press, originally called the Friends of New
Germany (reorganized in 1936 due to friction between Germany and the US), tried to cultivate Nazi
culture in America after Hitler came to power in Germany in January of 1933 due to their devotion to
him and his ideology. The Bund, headquartered in New York, would target German influenced
locations in America, such as Wisconsin which was populated by many German born and first
generation German American people, and they would try to awaken

Define business profiles, processes, and modeling..
A business profile is an overview that defines a company s overall functions, processes, organization,
products, services, customers, suppliers, competitors, constraints, and future direction. A business
process describes specific events, tasks, and desired results. To understand a company s operations,
systems analysts first develop a business profile and then create a series of business models. A
business model graphically represents business functions that consist of business processes such as
sales, accounting, and purchasing that perform specific tasks. (Pages 10 11)
3. Identify the main components of an information system, and describe the system s stakeholders.
An information system has five key components: hardware, software, data, processes, and people.
People who have an interest in an information system are called stakeholders. Stakeholder groups
include the management group responsible for the system; the users, sometimes called end users,
inside and outside the company who will interact with the system; and IT staff members, such as
systems analysts, programmers, and network administrators who develop and support the system

Franklin Roosevelt s Reform Plan
President Franklin Roosevelt s plan was to relieve, recover, and reform America. To do this, Roosevelt
selected well educated and respected individuals to be part of his reform team. This group was called
the Brains Trust, and consisted of economists, entrepreneurs, professors and others. Roosevelt s
administration didn t have a clear plan of action to help America. Nonetheless, within the first 100
days of his presidency the group created plans which embodied action, experiment and improvise
(Roark, et al. 722).
In Rural America, the reformers looked at electrical and agricultural issues. The New Deal helped

  • 2. Mujers Fibres Research Paper The anarchist/women s rights organization Mujeres Libres was a pioneering force in the egalitarian movement. The organization faced much backlash during its existence solely because it was an organization of anarchist women during a time when patriarchy and nationalism were the dominating norms. Therefore, the group had to overcome many obstacles put in place by Spanish society to prove themselves as both a women s rights and an anarchist organization. Mujeres Libres used this unique intersection between anarchism and women s rights to bring a distinctive and specialized approach to equality that proved to be effective for giving a voice to silenced anarchist women. Though political fluctuation was abundant in early 1900s Spain, one constant within the society was its predominantly patriarchal nature. It was a society in which power was not associated with women, because women were not viewed as equals to men. Consequently, women lived very restricted lives; their place was limited to the household and their was worth determined by whether or not they were married or by how submissive they acted towards men. Because of the society s expectations that women should assume roles within the home, there was a vast discrepancy between the educational levels of men and women. Higher education was exceedingly rare among Spanish women and female illiteracy rates reached nearly 70%. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After its creation, Mujeres Libres encountered extensive backlash from other anarchist groups involved in the Spanish Civil War. These other groups argued that because Mujeres Libres was only open to women, it encouraged defined hierarchies and only furthered the separation between men and women. Cost Synergies: How Merger Models Incorporate Managerial Accounting Methodologies Introduction According to the Merriam Webster online dictionary, a synergy is defined as a mutually advantageous conjunction or compatibility of distinct business participants or elements (as resources or efforts) . When applied exclusively in a business context, synergies are realized improvements in efficiency, as well as reductions in cost, resulting from the cooperation of two or more entities. These improvements are derived from the elimination, and consolidation, of redundant activities and tasks between the operations of disparate business units. In the following paragraphs, I will describe how and when synergies are used to initiate certain business ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Supply chain management, human capital management, and a myriad of other functional areas have become focus areas for synergistic analysis. These types of synergies are commonly referred to as operating synergies. Conversely, financial synergies, such as debt capacity and tax benefits serve to increase cash flow or reduce the firms cost of capital. Favorable operating and financial synergies provide the justification to enact the reorganization of the business through merger activity. Despite the importance of operating synergies to the organization s overall synergy strategy, this paper will focus almost exclusively on the financial outcomes of such analyses. How are synergies achieved? In a nutshell, all synergies can be expressed using the following rudimentary equation: 1 + 1 = 3 The idea that the sum of the parts is greater than that of the individual components is the driving assumption behind the synergistic approach to business reorganization. In today s corporate climate, synergies are at the forefront of acquisitive growth strategies which attempt to supplement internally generated (organic) growth with targeted acquisitions of existing entities or through business combinations. The goal of these transactions is to achieve a return on investment that exceeds the returns generated by each party prior to the deal. These returns can be measured in terms of cost reductions, increased revenues, and in some instances a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Partners or spouses are role model of a loving, caring and supportive relationship for their children. Four pros and cons of this type of family are as follows: PROS Discipline This should be easier with two adults but the truth is that it is often easier with only one particularly if the other one fails to agree with the type of discipline involved. Competition Most times mother and father are in competition for a his or her child love but if the other partner is not involved in the child s life or less interested in bringing up that child, the single parent can face no significant competition for their child s love. Individual Time Each child needs his or her time alone with their parent because nothing says I love you like parents spending time with their children. When a parent is by themselves, it is a challenge to find time alone with each child sufficient to meet the needs, but it is worth it! Peaceful Atmosphere Most single parents are in that situation because they have left a family which has looked more like a conflict zone. While any class of parenting may be stressful and may cause hostility within the family, hostility between mother and father can often be the most destructive, so one advantage of parenting alone is having a peaceful atmosphere in the ... The solubility tests were performed with all the solutes, which were phthalic acid, naphthalene, anthracene, benzoic acid, and resorcinol. The three solvents were water, methanol, and acetic acid. Solubility tests were carried out at both low and high temperature conditions, depending on the substance. The most efficient pair was acetic acid and anthracene, which was chosen for the second part of the experiment. In the macroscale procedure, 47.57% of anthracene was recovered. In the fiction world, writers have an idea of creating society with perfect human morals but establishing those ideas to real life people can see that there is no such thing as perfect. Anthony Burgess incorporates this idea into many of his works which accentuate many dark points in his life; he lost both, his mother and sister at a young age, and his first sexual experience was when he was seduced by an older woman (41 Facts on Anthony Burgess). The fact the Anthony had many occupations such like a linguist, critic, poetic, etc. show the vast amount of knowledge and views he has on the world. It was famous for being the main location of many Shakespearian plays, for having a unique architectural layout from other buildings, and for being a main attraction for many people during the Elizabethan Era and the Modern Era. The Globe theatre was built in 1599 and is very famous for having a unique architectural layout that was different from other buildings during the time period. It was built from oak, deal, and stolen playhouse frames. It is a large circular structure that is three stories tall and has a straw covered roof. It looks similar to what a football stadium looks like today because the middle of the theatre is open. The Globe theatre was built to hold about 3,000 people. Construction of the theatre was started by Cuthbert Burbage because the lease on an older theatre had expired. The location of the Globe Theatre was not actually in the central part of London but rather in an outlying district called Southwark on the Thames River. The Globe Theatre was the main spot where Shakespearian plays were performed during the Elizabethan Era. The first play that is known to be shown in the Globe Theatre was Julius Caesar in 1599. From 2008 2012 the rate of children diagnosed with ADHD went up 30 percent ( While there are this many diagnoses not all of them are correctly given. Some people pretend to have ADHD so that they can abuse the medicine with it. This is one of the reasons people are divided at giving their child the medication and not. Although some people think their diagnoses is correct, a lot of times it s not and it could be solved by making the test more complex because we don t want children on medication they don t need, it can have harsh side effects, and pretty much anyone who wants it can get it for their own reasons. The rate of children diagnosed with ADHD increases every year. To be exact, on average it climbs 3 5% every year ( The Pill That Teachers Push ). It seems like an epidemic, but this is not the case. Studies show that back when ADHD wasn t such wide spread knowledge, there were a lot less people coming in believing their child has this disorder. Before ADHD was an actual disorder that you could be diagnosed with, it was viewed as a moral problem with the child. For a lot of the present day instances, it still is. Foreclosure In The Orphanage In the film, The Orphanage, directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, the character of Laura exemplifies individuals in society that are exposed to hardship and traumatic events, thereby searching for a true sense of closure in order to fully resolve the problem and eventually recover and move on from the past. To start off, towards the beginning of the film, Laura demonstrates an example of an individual that has faced a horrific event which was left unsaid or unfinished. The dreadful idea of losing an only child is truly indescribable, however, this is the scenario that Laura must face and move on from. Closure truly allows an individual to gain a complete and satisfactory resolution to his/her problems, releasing agony and allowing satisfaction and comfort. Closure is not only a sign of endurance and faith, but also a sign of ease and tranquility from a past trauma that haunts the living daylights out of someone. It also allows individuals to successfully move on from the dreadful past into a hopeful future. Moreover, closure is the magic that triggers healing, it cures the past scars and wound one experiences in their life. In a like manner, Laura was an individual that faced many hardships and grief because of this unfound closure towards her son, Simon. Indeed Laura never fully became satisfied with her life and her situation until she fully gained closure and an answer to what really occurred, thereby easing her pain and allowing her to restore her faith. Likewise, I myself have gone through a period in my life where grief and sadness of the death of my grandparents overwhelmed my physical and emotional self being, the guilt and sadness not allowing for a full recovery. However, when I truly seeked out closure or an answer to how I could allow myself to accept reality and move on, then and only then did the process of healing invade my heart. Truly, hardship can only be fought with closure, as the one who bails to find the truth, losses the opportunity to recover fully, and lives the rest of his life in regret and gloom. Lab Report On Kinetics Of Alcohol Oxidation Lab Instructor s Name: Zhen Qiao Student s Name: Nhu Duong Section # CHEM 102 110 Experiment #6 Date of the experiment: 01/29/2016 Title: KINETICS OF ALCOHOL OXIDATION Drexel University Winter 2016 Introduction: This report concerns the experiment of determining the order of reaction and the kinetic rate constant of alcohol oxidation. This experiment relates to the knowledge of chemical kinetics, the application of Beer s Law, and other calculations. Chemical kinetics involves the examination of reaction rates, which are the speeds of chemical reactions. There are chemical reactions which proceed in long periods of time as well as chemical reactions proceeding in short periods of time. Regarding reaction rates, the reaction order and kinetic rate constant are considered. Take a general reaction in solution for instance: aA+bB⇌Product(s) The reaction rate is calculated using the following function: rate=k〖[A]〗^x 〖[B]〗^y Where [A] and [B] are the concentrations of A and B in the solution, unit: mol/L or M; x and y is the reaction order of A and B respectively; k is the kinetic rate constant, its unit depends on the order of the reaction. The values of x and y are the partial order corresponding to A and B. The sum of x and y is the overall reaction order. The values of x and y can be either negative or positive. They can also be either integer or fractional. The reaction rate can be understood as how fast the reactants are consumed or how fast the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. Evolving Federalism Essay Evolving Federalism Pre Class Assignment Federalism by definition is the division of power between a central government and its participating members. How that power is divided is the subjective aspect of federalism that was before the framers of the United States. Through compromise and necessity the seeds for a strong central government were planted alongside already strong state governments. Over time the seeds for strong central government grew; wars, economic fluctuations and national growth established a strong central government. As America s idea of federalism changed the central government grew more powerful, the state s government gave more power away, and local governments were established. ... Creative federalism points to a strong centralized government that initiates federal programs to fight poverty, hunger, crime, and other social issues. This stage sees a noticeable increase of power given to the national government by the Warren Court. Schreiber concludes by describing a struggle between cooperative federalism and creative federalism. He sees these two models of federalism in competition with one another on how power will be distributed between the three levels of government. This is best described by Russell Hanson, in Governing Partners, as competitive federalism , which is the idea that the three levels of government must compete for power in a zero sum game. It can be argued that we now are in a sixth stage that can be defined as competitive federalism. Recent struggles involving gay marriage, education, tax reform, and anti terrorism funding prove that a struggle for power between the three levels of government is ongoing. • 18. The Role Of Cognitive Dissonance In Society In such a vast world of creation choices and opposites the topic of cognitive dissonance is all but inevitable. From its pure form and early research too its expanded and evolved form in present day it has always been prevalent. In this paper i plan on evaluating this mindset and finding not only ways to solve this problem but its importance in society since its discovery. Cognitive dissonance is the concept of two opposed ideas that cause either a change in one s life beliefs or morals. This refers to a situation involving conflicting attitudes, beliefs or behaviors. This produces a feeling of discomfort leading to a change in one of the attitudes beliefs or actions to reduce the discomfort and restore balance. For example, when people smoke (behavior) and they know that smoking causes cancer (cognition), they are in a state of cognitive dissonance. This concept of cognitive dissonance can expand to a much deeper sense. From people s everyday habits and changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This one quote, from my favorite movie (The Dark Knight), has changed my outlook on life and its shape as a whole. Normally, it wouldn t be the best idea to gain inspiration from perhaps the most notorious fictional villain in history, but this quote, in particular, has a much deeper meaning than shallow self validation. The Torus Shaped Vessel 2.3 Diverter Applications The diverter is located at the bottom of the torus shaped vessel and is designed to extract heat from the plasma as well as the exhaust fumes of the reaction occurring which are helium and any impurities from the first wall of the reactor. The basic concept of a diverter used within a tokamak design can be understood better by looking at figure x which is a diagram of JET after it had a divertor fitted. The separatrix is the last field line which contains the plasma. The magnetic field transports the plasma to the diverters at the bottom as shown where the heat energy strikes the diverter target plates and conducted to pipes where it is then removed through either a water or helium cooling system and the exhaust gases are extracted by a vacuum. The diverter itself is made up of several components shown in figure x. The plasma facing components are the two vertical targets and dome. A closer look at one of the vertical target in figure x shows how the cooling system works with a pipe with cooling fluid flowing through it is fitted through blocks of armour material which make up the targets. At certain points in history, gun sales to civilians have been prohibited by law. In 1976, Washington D.C. implemented a gun ban that potentially worsened the city s homicide rate. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, annual homicides rose from 188 in 1976 to 364 in 1988 and continued increasing to 454 in 1993. The gun ban was struck down by the Supreme Court in District of Columbia v. Heller and since, homicides have steadily declined to 88 annual murders in 2012. This statistic shows that depriving the right to bear arms from law abiding citizens is ineffective in decreasing the number of homicides as criminals will find a way to obtain a gun even with a gun ban in place. The law abiding citizens will be left vulnerable as the criminals will have defenseless victims to attack. The United States has attempted to put gun bans into place in the past. However, these regulations have been repetitively ineffective. The Nazi party was based in Germany, and many Germans had fallen prey to their deception through their immoral methods, but it was a true surprise when Americans started to become ensnared by their deceit as well. After WWI, Germany was in ruins; so many Germans immigrated to the US. Some of these immigrants fit in quite well into American society and carried on to be loyal citizens. However some were very hostile to assimilate into society, those who were humiliated and scared by Germany s economy and of the backlash of the war, yet still stuck to their pride to an extreme.
