The Impact Of Tourism On Orlando, Florida
Introduction
Florida is tourism. Every modern image of the state evokes travel for pleasure. To most outsiders,
Florida is one big theme park, not a state but a magic kingdom of dreams and fantasies, where real
life, with its mundane cares, is effectively banished (Revels, 2011). Orlando, Florida can be
appreciated as a destination where this image was created, where exhilarating attractions, distinct
restaurants and hotels, and superior shopping have become a tourist s dream vacation. Orlando has
become the first destination in the United States to surpass over 62 million visitors in 2014, setting a
new record for tourism as the most visited destination in the nation (Visit Orlando, 2015). Being one

This is considered to be the most important component of tourism in a location. It provides the
destination with activities and interactive aspects that interest visitors worldwide. Attraction means
anything that creates a desire in any person to travel in a specific tourist destination or attraction
(Johnpaul, 2015). The attraction is consumed during the stay of the tourist, which impacts the majority
of their experience in the destination. In order to create opportunities for tourists to visit places these
attractions need to be innovative and simulating (Gisolf, 2012).
Attractions can be labeled into different categories based on certain characteristics they offer. These
types of attractions are categorized under historical landmarks, museums and galleries, nature,
shopping malls, and amusement and water parks (Heath, 2014). Each category has a set of features
that make each attraction diverse, such as historical landmarks that have historical significance and
nature attractions that incorporate the outdoors. These characteristics make up each type of

Apa Membership In Psychology
A psychologist could automatically become a member of the Southern Society for Philosophy and
Psychology (SSPP), by having the endorsements of two members, the payment of dues, and a
membership in the American Psychological Association (APA). Nonmembers, with endorsements and
payments of dues had to be voted in by the membership (Thomas, 2011); automatic membership for
APA members was eliminated in 1940. The first African American to earn a PhD in psychology was
Francis Cecil Sumner, he qualified for an SSPP membership in 1939, but his membership was delayed
and eliminated. Sumner was known for his racial bias and supporting educational justice. In his article

Maycomb In To Kill A Mockingbird
Maycomb is a small town in Alabama, whose outskirts are spread alongside the Alabama River. Since
it is a small town it has a very close knit community, in which everybody knows everybody. In the
novel To Kill A Mockingbird, both the physical and the behavioural sides of Maycomb and its
townspeople are clearly presented. In a physical sense, Maycomb is a very ordinary town. The houses
aren t big and the town square isn t spectacular but for a small town living during the depression they
get a long fairly well. Their houses are built of wood, with tin roofs and porches (some of which are
being supported by 2x4 boards). The town square is made up of many square faced stores all squished
together. Either than the Greek style pillars on the courthouse

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Online Dating
Online dating has become more famous and usable in America and other developed countries. Many
people have access to internet and Smart phones, so they can easily use the dating apps. Although
social media and online dating play vital role in connection of relationship and friendship; they have
negative impacts too. There are some advantages and disadvantages of online dating.
There are many shy people that cannot propose a marriage or friendship relationship, so online dating
and social media are good option for them. It is easy to discuss some issues related to romance and
dating rather than face to face meeting. However, some people like only talking and texting rather than
having sex or being together. On the other hand, some people are ugly, so it is tough for them to find
someone for dating in public; it is easier to find both ugly and beautiful features on online dating.
Another advantage of online dating is that some people are super busy, so they cannot find extra time
to go outside and find someone for dating. It easier to find someone for relationship through online
dating sites rather than to go outside. Fluency in language and good communication skills are very
important for dating, therefore some people do not have them, that is why they prefer online dating at
the beginning of relationship.
There are also some disadvantages of online dating, which are relatively worse than its advantages.

Sulphuric Acid Lab
From this lab experiment, I can conclude that the red cabbage solution is an effective indicator for the
acidic, basic and neutral chemical compounds. I learned that the universal indicator is also a good
solution for the three types of compounds. The colours are different depending on what substance you
are testing. The colours that we discovered in the pH scale are pink, red or orange. As for bases the
colour was either light or dark green sometimes yellow. The colours for neutral, were violet or
purple. In real life we are exposed to acids and bases everyday. For example, citric acid is in lots of
citrus foods such as lemons, oranges and grapefruits. It is also added to foods for flavouring, non
perishable, and cleaning supply. Citric acid creates a taste that is sweet and sour. ... Show more content

Sulphuric acid is extremely harmful if you are directly exposed to it. However it is very useful in real
life. For example, in car batteries, used in plant fertilizers. On the contrary, It is very dangerous to the
environment. There are many acids in the human body and many foods that we eat in our daily lives.
Bases on the other hand, are used also in our daily lives. For instance, baking soda is used in baking,

Quantitative And Qualitative Methodologies
Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted, said Albert
Einstein. His saying goes well with certain methodologies applied for analytical research.
Researchers broadly consider two methodologies for their research, Quantitative and Qualitative
methodologies. Quantitative research is based on the quantity of data, measurement of parameters,
comparative calculations based on the numbers, countable incidences, in short quantitative methods
collect data and analyse through quantified interpretations, where as in qualitative research preference
is given to the real and actualities.
Though both have its merits and demerits, most of the modern research scientists agree that both are
complimentary to each other rather than opposing to each other while the quantitative studies help to

While unlike in quantitative research, in qualitative research more stress is given to experience of
respondents through their words given compared to how many spoke the same answer to reach
statistical conclusions. Qualitative research is characterised by its aims, which relate to understanding
some aspect of social life, and its methods which (in general) generate words, rather than numbers, as
data for analysis (Michael Quinn Patton and Michael Cochran, 2002). Qualitative method helps to
understand the experiences and attitudes of the respondents towards the topic under discussion rather
than how many persons reply with same

Henry Ford1 Essay
Henry Ford1 Octavian Augustus (63 B.C.E 14 AD) is known as the first, and one of the greatest,
Roman Emperors ever. Octavian enabled the long, peaceful time of the Pax Romana by changing
Rome from a fragile, crumbling republican government to a mighty empire. OctavianÂčs government
was strong enough to withstand weak emperors who mismanaged the Empire. His changes proved to
be the cornerstone of the greatest empire the world has ever seen. During the Conflict of Orders, the
lower class Romans, or plebeians, forced the upper class Romans, known as patricians, to give them
more rights and liberties (Hadas 1969). The Republican government in Rome was established to
satisfy the plebeians, while still leaving a majority of the control ... Show more content on

He started to accept anyone into the army regardless of whether they owned any land. This created a
vast change in the makeup of the armies. Many poor people decided to join in hopes that they would
benefit financially from any victories. Soldiers became attached to Roman generals rather than the
state because of the possible economic gains (Hanes 1997). The governmentÂčs separation of the army
would prove to be a major problem. Laws could only be enforced if The Republic controlled the
armies. When the army followed a general rather than the government, the government lost all power.
In 90 B.C.E, Roman allies in Italy finally rebelled against the city. The allies were angry that they
were not considered citizens of Rome. They had benefited little from Roman expansion even though
their citizens had served in the military. After a very bloody campaign, the Social War, as it was called,
eventually ended when the allies were defeated. The Senate, however, decided to grant citizenship to
the allies (Hanes 1997). This move expanded the Roman State to all of Italy. As the number of citizens
grew, The Republic became harder and harder to manage. During the Social Wars, one general, Lucius
Cornelius Sulla proved to be very successful in battles. Based on this military success, Sulla was
elected consul in 88 BCE After completing his term, Marius tried to stop Sulla from taking any
military command. Sulla countered by marching his troops on Rome

How Humans Can Improve Our Resilience And Allow Us
When researching the history of human adaption it is worth noting that at least twice in the last 1.2
million years our species was almost wiped out. Genetic research shows that at that time the human
population on earth was around 18,500, perilously close to extinction (the reason for this is not
directly known by scientists). Then about 150,000 years ago, it plummeted again down to just 2,000.
This shows that in the past humans have not always been great at surviving which could have been
caused by a lack of knowledge on how to live through natural disasters (such as volcanic eruptions,
tsunamis, hurricanes, etc). However, humans did survive, with the biggest example being that there is
still a human race today. In this day and age ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, 12,000 years ago the area around the Great Lakes was very cold and covered with huge
sheets of ice a kilometre thick. Today, that same area has farms and large cities (i.e. Chicago, Detroit
and Toronto). The environment can also be changed by human interference, these usually occur in
relatively short periods of time. An example of this could be pieces of land changed into farms,
housing schemes or small villages. This type of example can be seen on a day to day basis. Every time
a physical environment is changed, all the plants and animals (including humans) in that environment
must adapt to the changes or face become extinct. Slow changes give living things time to adapt so
giving more chance of survival. Fast changes usually don t give living things time to adapt, so they
must either move elsewhere or become extinct.
Secondly, Paul I. Palmer, a professor at the University of Edinburgh and Matthew J. Smith, an
ecologist at Microsoft Research in Cambridge state that the planet has entered a new state: humans are
adapting to, as well as causing, environmental changes ... projections of the future climate based on
simple economic narratives from cuts in greenhouse gas emissions to unmitigated growth are
unrealistic. This means that there are already some negative opinions on future human adaption from
top researchers.

Proposal For Implementing A Formal Mentoring Program Essay
MEMORANDUM
TO: Donald Lower, Partner; Barry Anderson, Partner; John Huber, Partner; Todd Whitlow, Partner
FROM: Brooke Vondal, Administrative Officer
DATE:
September 18, 2016
SUBJECT: Proposal to Implement a Formal Mentoring Program
Attached is the proposal to implement a mentoring program at Anderson, Lower, Whitlow P.C. In
early summer, ALW hired fifteen recently graduated individuals and 12 have already taken positions at
other firms. There needs to be a system in place to develop and foster relationships for these
individuals within the firm. This firm has a high turnover rate of new hires; currently, the turnover rate
is 85%. Firms that are considered the Big Four are offering mentoring programs that make their
employees invested in the company s future. Unfortunately, if ALW does not start to compete with this
issue, more employees will be lost to the Big Four Firms.
Implementing a strong mentoring program that fosters individual and personal growth within the
company is vital for the future of this firm. This includes setting up and maintaining a mentoring
program. The mentoring program will be set up with individuals from all levels of achievement, that
are willing to devote a portion of their time to the firm s prosperity.
Investing in the future of this firm, through a formal mentoring program is a vital step. I look forward
to working with you throughout this process. I can be reached at bvondal@alwpc.com or 456 789

Analysis of Pauline Puyat’s TracksEssay
Analysis of Pauline Puyat s Tracks
One of the most striking characteristics of Pauline Puyat is her devout Catholicism and her desire to be
disconnected from the Ojibwa people. Throughout Tracks, she openly chooses Catholicism over her
native religion and abandons her native ways almost completely. When Pauline tries to help Fleur
prevent a miscarriage, she is literally held back by her conscious separation from the Ojibwa culture.
There are many things that Pauline fails to do to effectively prevent Fleur from miscarrying. The most
obvious is her failure to efficiently put together the herbal steep made of Alder: And I could not
remember the plant s configuration, even though its use was common enough for bleeding ... Show
more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pauline s personification of the plants only continues this idea of confusion and abandonment. Her
prayer to the Catholic God is almost ironic; Pauline is begging her God to help her remember the
practices that she thinks sacrilegious.
Pauline s Catholicism and her duties as an Angel of Death continue to control her for the rest of the
passage. Before giving Fleur the Alder (or whatever herb she actually grabbed) steep, Pauline is
captivated by her face: Fleur s eyes were closed. Her face was drained of color. I k new this look and I
was fascinated, rapt, as at other death and sickbeds (157). Here, Pauline forgets what she is doing for
Fleur and reverts to her duty as the Angel of Death, abandoning her Ojibwa ways for Catholicism.
This seems to create further confusion for Pauline, as Fleur must instruct her on what to do with the
alder plant. When Pauline puts herself to that task, she finds that she is unable to do anything because
the Lord overtook [her] limbs and made them clumsy...it must have been his terrible will (157).
Pauline feels that God does not want her to help Fleur, and is preventing her from doing so by
deadening her limbs. Although she is trying to help Fleur, she simply cannot. Pauline s claims that
clumsiness and forgetfulness of Ojibwa traditions is God s terrible will, are a claim of validity for both
her follies in this passage and her stubborn separations from the Ojibwa.

The Importance Of Traveling
You worked really hard to get your miles and points in the bank. Don t let that potential vacation
currency go to waste. Here are some helpful tips to keep your miles from expiring.
Below the useful tips is a table with the major airline and hotel expiration deadlines.
Know The Expiration Dates
Each frequent flyer program has slightly different rules for when their miles expire. For some
international airlines, it can be up to 3 years. For most programs in the US, accounts expire after 18
months of inactivity.
This means that if you let your miles account sit for 18 months, and neither earn nor redeem a mile,
you will lose them all. And this seems to take people by surprise pretty frequently. Points Banking

But it makes sense to link your cards to a dining program, like Rewards Network. It s always a nice
surprise to get an email that you ve earned miles after eating at a random cafe in a town you ve never
been to before. This free option is worth signing up for.
Move points around
For the most part, you can t transfer points between airlines. You can also transfer points from Bank
Rewards credit cards to airlines.
If you have credit card points through American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate
Rewards, or Citi ThankYou cards, you can transfer those points to selected airline partners. Members
of the Starwood Preferred Guest program can transfer points to over a dozen different airlines. That s
the benefit of a flexible and transferable points programs.
In most cases you ll need to transfer a minimum of 1,000 points. Although Starwood Preferred Guests
Platinum members can transfer as little as one point to an airline program.
Some airlines also allow you to donate a handful of miles to charity, which can be a good option in a
pinch. You can also move miles between one person s account to another.
Keep in mind, some airlines charge a transfer fee this. Not the best option.
Buy Miles
When I was in a pinch a few years ago, I bought a 1,000 miles to keep the loyalty account active. This
was in my novice days when I was still learning. Although spending $15 to reset the clock seemed like
a good idea at the time, there are other

The Civil War was generally a duel to determine the survival of the United States of America as it
defeated the bid for independence by the breakaway Confederate States of America. The Civil War
started because of uncompromising differences between the free and slave states over the power of the
national government to prohibit slavery in the territories that had not yet become slave states. This
event is very crucial in regards to my research question because it is solely the biggest event that
incorporates the fundamentals of slavery and why it was so important to slave states and why they
wanted to expend slavery throughout the rest of America. It delivers the audience the knowledge on
how slaves were used as a force of labor and work transaction. Also it exemplifies that later on, the
Confederacy weakened giving northern states the victory and abolishing slavery. The conclusion that I

Asteroids in Our Solar System
Introduction:
When the first asteroids were discovered they were thought to be planets, just like every other star in
the sky. It is only with the advancement of astronomy that the differentiation could occur. Asteroids
are minor planets or sometimes referred to as planetoids or planetesimals. Those names are given to
anything in the solar system that does not seem to have the roundedness of a planetary body or the
typical characteristics of a comet. Asteroids can form in a number of ways; they can be pieces of a
larger extinct planet or a planet that was in the stages of forming when some event occurred to change
its path. A majority of the asteroids we know are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference between an asteroid and a comet is commonly misunderstood; anything smaller than
ten meters across is called a meteoroid, with the broader term minor planet is preferred by the
International Astronomical Union. Other languages prefer planetoid and this term is used in English
for differentiating between larger minor planets such as the dwarf planets. The word planetesimal has
a similar meaning, but refers to the small building blocks of the planets that existed when the Solar
System was forming. The three largest objects in the asteroid belt, Ceres, 2 Pallas, and 4 Vesta, grew
to the stage of protoplanets. Ceres is a dwarf planet, the only one in the inner Solar System. The main
difference between an asteroid and a comet is that a comet shows a coma due to sublimation of near
surface ices by solar radiation. A few objects have ended up being dual listed because they were first
classified as minor planets but later showed evidence of comet like activity. Conversely, some comets
are eventually depleted of their surface volatile ices and become asteroids. A further distinction is that
comets typically have more eccentric orbits than most asteroids; most asteroids with notably eccentric
orbits are probably dormant or extinct comets (Weissman et al, 2002).
Much interest in asteroids stems from the collisional potential of some of their orbits. These near Earth
asteroids or earth crosser are categorized into three types; Apollos,

The Lady Reward Summary
Afternoon is about the gentle days of old age, and the author tries to convey the message that we
should enjoy the young and developing times that we have before it s too late. The mood established
by the poem is long and slow, gentle and calm, with actions being described as comforted or Fragile ,
and relaxed concepts like peace. This goes on until the last 2 stanzas, where the author admits their
hopes for the days of old age to be further away to enjoy the younger times longer, hence the main
point of the passage.
The Lady s Reward is essentially a guide on how to allure men by faking yourself to be the perfect
woman. The main point Dorothy Parker is trying to make is that this kind of false love would never
make you truly happy. This is shown by the end of the passage, where the elegant tone of the text
shifts to a less formal and rhetorical demeanor, stating If that makes you happy, kid, you ll be the first
it ever did. The parts leading up to that have a regal or feminine tone, indicated by words such as
serene , delicate , gay , and the simile using cherry flowers.
The poem, Résumé , is about the inconveniences of suicide, and Dorothy Parker intends to tell that
living is bad, but not nearly as bad as all the ways you could commit suicide, indicated by the final
line of might as well live . The mood established in the poem is pessimistic, indicated by saying might
as well , which shows unwillingness but acceptance of life, a concept that most anyone

The Tragic Incident That Happened At Waco
The mass media is responsible for providing the general public with information regarding current
events and issues that are occurring in the world. In addition, journalists have the ability to influence
and impact individuals ideologies about certain topics by the way they present the information, either
in a positive or negative manner (Beckford 1994). On the other hand, scholarship strives to
methodologically and critically study and analyze a phenomenon in order to present factually correct
information. Furthermore, this paper will discuss the difference between journalism and scholarship,
and will use the tragic incident that occurred at Waco as an example to illustrate each fields
differences in discussing/reporting the events that unfolded. To begin with, the tragic incident that
occurred at Waco between the Branch Deviants and government officials were discussed differently
between scholars and journalists (mass media). It is evident that news media representations of the
Waco and new religious groups in general, are depicted as being problematic and deviant for society.
In addition, the aftermath of Waco resulted in stories being published to instill fear into the public
about new religious movements (Beckford 1994). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mount Carmel. While, journalists blame the Branch Deviants for starting the fire and state it was a

Serial Killers Of Jack The Ripper
Jack The Ripper was a serial killer in East End London, in the late 1888 s. No one knows who it is to
this day. There are several theories to who it could be, most are males but there is still a little doubt
that could have been a woman, maybe both? The only thing that is known for sure these women were
victims of him or her. Jack The Ripper was known for the way he murder, he left cuts on both sides of
the neck and made the knees or legs of the women up towards her chest or in the air; in some cases he
would destroy the body so bad that it was hard to identify who the victim was. One of the only reasons
police knew who the victims were in because Jack would write notes to the police office or the
newspaper company telling them who was killing next but not when. Jack The Ripper was a man of
pattern and rountie. His killings were all almost alike and his victims had profiles that matched each
other s.
Jack had five victims, who were all women; the women had a couple things in common, all but one of
the women were in their 40s, they were all drinkers, and most of the five women were known to be in
the business of prostitution. All five victims were found dead in poorly lit alley ways or stairways,
with their necks cut on either side and other lacerations throughout the body.
According to Josh Clark, this is what happened to the five victims of Jack The Ripper. Mary Nichols
was the first victim, found on August 31, 1888 at 3:45am. Mary was 44 years old who liked her
drinks. She was found in a narrow side street of Buck s Row in the Whitechapel; she had an eight inch
laceration to her throat that cut both of her major arteries and she had violent cuts on her abdomen.
Annie Chapman was the second victim, she was found on September 8, 1888 at 5:45am. Annie was a
47 year old widow who was a heavy drinker and survived through prostitution. Annie was found
outside an apartment at 29 Hanbury Street with a man of shabby genteel , a few minutes after her
being spotted with the man, a muffled scream of No! followed by a loud thump on the fence. Her body
was found in the backyard of the apartment, with her feet pushed up toward her body, knees in the air
and spread apart. Her throat was cut deeply from left to right,

David Essay
David, who was destined to be the second king of Israel, destroyed the Philistine giant Goliath with
stone and a sling. Donatello, Verrocchio, Michelangelo, and Bernini each designed a sculpture of
David. However, the sculptures are drastically different from one another. Each one is unique in its
own certain way.
Donatello, whose David was the first life size nude statue since Classical times, struck a balance
between Classicism and the realism by presenting a very real image of an Italian peasant boy in the
form of a Classical nude figure. Although Donatello was inspired by classical figures, he did not
choose a Greek youth in his prime as a model for his David. Instead, he chooses a barely developed
adolescent boy whose arms appeared ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Donatello balanced realistic elements with an idealized Classically inspired torso whereas Verrocchio
s goal was absolutely realism in minute details. The sculptures also differ in terms of technique.
Donatello s David is mainly a closed form sculpture. The objects and limbs are centered around an S
curve stance, which balanced his human form. Verrocchio s sculpture is more open. For example, the
bared sword and elbow are sticking out, away from the central core. quot;Donatello s graceful pose
had been replaced in the Verrocchio, by a jaunty contrapposto that enhances David s image of self
confidence quot; (Fichner Rathus 334).
Michelangelo was yet another artist who sculpted David. His reputation as a sculptor was established
when he carved his David at the edge of twenty seven from a single piece of relatively unworkable
marble. Unlike the David s of Donatello and Verrocchio, Michelangelo s David is not shown after
conquering his enemy. Instead, he is portrayed as a quot;most beautiful animal preparing to kill not by
savagery and brute force, but by intellect and skill quot; (Fichner Rathus 345). Cast over his shoulder
is David s sling, and the stone is clutched in his right hand, his veins in chief anticipation of the fight.
Michelangelo s David depicts the ideal youth who has just reached manhood and is capable of great
physical and intellectual feats, which is part of the

Code Of The Inner City Analysis
Life in the Inner City In the novel Code of the Street: Decency, Violence, and the Moral Life of the
Inner City written by Elijah Anderson, Elijah discusses how the environment and the economy affects
the choices that youths in the inner city make. Elijah argues that the inner city black America is
extremely violent, but he also asserts that there is this code individuals in these areas need to
understand in order not to be harmed. Elijah supports this code using interviews and personal stories
from individuals living in the inner cities. An important key point to remember from this novel is that
violence happens because of the socioeconomic issues that surround these cities. In order for Elijah to
explain what life in the inner city is like, he engaged in participant observation, direct observation, and
conducted interviews in the state of Philadelphia. He used these methods to support the ... Show more

The interviews that Elijah conducted helped understand that there are many challenges individuals
face in these communities. In addition, most of the key points Elijah explains in this novel can be
compared to the things that people go through when involved in gangs. In every urban neighborhood,
there are two different types of families, decent and street. Street oriented families consist of
individuals that lack education, are involved in violence, and underground activities. Street oriented
individuals are seen as bad people and low life individuals. On the other hand, decent families are
those who work hard for things and influence others to do good in life. Although decent families are
surrounded by illegal activities, they try to look away from it and take the right path towards success.

Zamperini Argumentative Essay
Louie Zamperini is an example to follow. Not because he was an athlete or a solder, because of his
actions and motivations The most important, from my point of view, is his family. He would ve done
everything for them. That s the most important reason why he decided to change and by the same way
change others. The best example for that is when he stared running, he was doing it for his mama, for
his dad and Pete and his sisters, and that before doing it for himself. An other example is when the
Japanese gave him the opportunity to speak on radio, the first thing that he did was speaking to his
family and how much he missed them. Another remarkable thing that Zamperini did was being the life
of the raft. He was the one who was giving hope to

Julie Taymor Influences
Julie Taymor was born on December 15, 1954 in Newton, Massachusetts to a doctor and a politician.
The youngest of three children, both more than six years older than her, she had a tremendous amount
of freedom (Molina). She lived through the turbulent 1960 s noticing how new circumstances caused
by the Vietnam war influenced the behavior of those around her and how these changes developed as
time passed. This close observation of what people went through and how it shaped them had a large
influence on what would become her creative basis not only for fabricating the costume design for
productions, but also for directing many theatrical, film, and opera works. After producing her first
theatrical work at age seven in her backyard, Taymor began to go to the Boston Children s Theatre
where she studied acting. At the age of ten, she was not only among the youngest there, she also did
not know many people as the company consisted of children from all over Boston. This began

Going first to Japan, Taymor studied traditional Japanese puppetry then went on to Sri Lanka, Paris,
and Indonesia. She chose to remain in Indonesia after her fellowship ended for four years in her early
twenties in a dirt floor compound with no running water, electricity, or telephone. When there, she
created Theater Loh, a troupe composed of actors, dancers, musicians and puppeteers from a multitude
of countries. With this company she created a trilogy called Way of Snow which served to explore
tensions between traditional Indonesian society and modern influences. Taymor carved all of the
puppets and masks used in this performance herself using wood from a tree outside her house
(Academy of Achievement). It was while she was in Indonesia that she had a life changing experience
that would change her perspective on theatre

Reflective Report On Negotiation
Negotiations: Reflection Report Negotiations are pivotal in everyday life; however, it is in politics and
business where negotiations have the capacity to shape the history and economic future of a society.
This reflective report is a citation of one of negotiation simulation I have been part of my organization
in recent month. This reflective report will first appraise current learning against personal experience
in a multi party business negotiation. Specifically, I compare and contrast the various emotions,
relationships and coalitions formed in day one and day two of the negotiation. The outcome will then
be measured for its value and success from my perspective as the spokesperson for the employee
representation group. To ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the nature of the negotiation, being a simulation, made it difficult to measure the veracity of
the anchoring effect since the payoffs (70%, 80%, 90% and 100%) were known fixed variables. The
general information provided explicitly stated the MGMT and CONTR conflicting stance on the
integrative issue, so neither parties gained valuable information from the first or counter offer.
Furthermore, following negotiations could not be made in increments less than 10% so my
conjectured capacity to frame and control the negotiation was greatly inhibited. Intra group conflicts
emerged in the last joint conference, consequently evoking apprehension and vulnerability. The
CONTR s outrageous proposal, to accept a supposed $7.00 share price at the expense of all other
parties, seemingly appealed to the MGMT. MGMT also hinted thoughts of compromising support for
USA based employment in exchange for a longer term management contract. Cohesion within the
coalition quickly deteriorated, and increasing pressure was put on my role to compromise with
CONTR for a better joint outcome. Simon s (1979) notion of satisficing for an acceptable but inferior
payoff, in the face of uncertainty, became apparent in my own negotiation attempts. I left Day One
verbally assenting to 80% USA employment, a markedly different result to my own target value. Day

The Story behind Diamonds
Diamonds are one of the most popular minerals in the world and yet people are not aware of the
circumstances it takes to acquire this such unique mineral. Many people would agree when I say that
this mineral is such a nice thing to look at, but few people actually know what it is made of and how it
was formed. These precious minerals are composed of Carbon. The process to making this immaculate
mineral is as following. First, you must bury Carbon dioxide deep into the earth; approximately, 100
miles deep. Second, you must heat the substance at a temperature of 2,200 degrees fahrenheit. Next,
squeeze or tightly compact the substance under pressure of 725,000 pounds per square inch. Finally, it
must quickly rush to the earths surface to cool off. All this must be done just to create diamond.
Luckily for some men, scientist have created an alternative of the mined diamonds, it is a synthetic
diamond composed of the same things and look almost identical. So if you re planning to pop the big
question soon you have options with that part of the proposal. When you think of the price of real
diamonds you might think that they are pretty expensive and what makes them so special. Along with
its looks, it is a rare mineral that still has a high demand. The places where you can find high
concentrations are usually far away. As a matter of fact, the location that has the largest concentration
of diamonds is in central and southern Africa. It is reported that they have 49% of

Why People Change Their Names In Into The Wild By Jon...
Why People Change their Names Most teens and young adults would recognize the names of these
famous artists; Rihanna, Beyonce, Eminem, and Katy Perry. However, they may be surprised to know
that none of these names are their birth given names. Whether people wish to maintain a professional
name, evade crime, or remain anonymous... changing their name will accomplish their needs. In
Krakauer s novel, Into the Wild, Chris McCandless changed his name to Alexander Supertramp in the
effort to remain anonymous. By changing his name, Chris was able to become an entire new person

Absolutism Dbq
After the Renaissance, there were many factors that gave way and led to chaos, and then the choice
between an absolutist government, or a constitutional one. These factors included the decline of the
previous social order of Feudalism, the Protestant Reformation, new logical and scientific ideas from
famed Renaissance thinkers, and riots/revolts from unhappy citizens of numerous classes. Some states
like France, Russia, and Prussia, resulted in all the power gathered under the monarch s personal
control, which happened due to comparable actions by the ruler. In the 1600s and 1700s, Absolute
monarchs like Louis XIV, Peter the Great, and the Soldier King of Prussia, had similar methods to

They all had similar tactics in taxation, but each had economic policies which resembled one another.
Colbert, Louis XIV s financial manager, promoted mercantilism, a policy of maintaining a favorable
balance of trade in order to accumulate wealth. These mercantilist policies massively boosted France s
economy. The French people were to produce everything they needed, exports were increased, and
immigration by talented peoples was encouraged. Positively, this approach allowed France to become
a competitor in trade. As a result, France surged in power and wealth, giving Louis XIV the ability and
money to reform other areas of the government. Likewise, Peter the Great was inspired by his travels
to use mercantilist ideas. More money meant more opportunity to better the country. Furthermore, he
boosted industry and production of raw materials. This whole economic sector was underneath the
monarchy s control, in order to promote the success Peter the Great saw necessary and fit.
Correspondingly, in Prussia, the next Hohenzollern was Frederick the Great, who applied enlightened
absolutist ideas to the economy. Frederick took a more humane approach to policy, which would
strengthen the state, and he also reconstructed agriculture and industry. Altogether, the monetary and
financial systems these enlightened rulers employed were to make more money. More financial
capabilities would result in a stronger state, due to the ability to accomplish more goals, and a better
life for the rulers

Summary Of Once More To The Lake By E. B White
E.B White, author of Once More to the Lake explores the dynamic relationship between father and son
to convey the power of memory and the inevitable chill of mortality. The symbol of the dragonfly and
the lake creates a sense of duality while introducing subtle changes throughout the essay. The
dragonfly and the sense of duality serves White s purpose by using it to compare and contrast the
position of father and son. The duality of the dragonfly empitomizes the common theme of time being
an illusion by saying that, There had been no years between the ducking of this dragonfly and the
other one the one that was part of memory (433). The double voicing, questionable tone of the quote
illustrates the parental realization that everyone

The Great Outdoors Research Paper
The great outdoors is a story of a very memorable camping trip. This story takes place at Curt Gowdy
State Park in Cheyenne, Wyoming. My grandma and grandpa invited me (I am 7) and my sister
(Marissa who is 13 at the time) to go camping with them because they just got a fifth wheel. We got
packed up and started the drive down. Let s just say that my grandpa isn t exactly the best driver. It
involved almost running into the mailbox, driving too close to the oncoming lane, taking too wide of a
turn, and going too fast on the highway. After the eventful drive, we got unpacked and made it just in
time for lunch. She found a great spot right along the lake. It was right by the bathrooms and secluded
so we set up camp. While our grandparents were getting everything together, my sister and I went
exploring. The first place we checked out was the bathrooms. I went into the men s and she went into
the women s. After about ten seconds, I come out yelling and my sister comes crashing out of the
bathroom and asks what is wrong. I just found a dead squirrel! I yelled.
She asked where it was and I eagerly led her to the stall with the squirrel in the toilet. After that we

yelling my name but made no move to tell her where I was. While I was enjoying my book and my
grandma was out searching for me, Marissa caught a fish on my pole. Technically, I could call it my
fish but she wouldn t let it fly. After that, we put the fish in a cooler, hooked up, and drove

  • 2. The Impact Of Tourism On Orlando, Florida Introduction Florida is tourism. Every modern image of the state evokes travel for pleasure. To most outsiders, Florida is one big theme park, not a state but a magic kingdom of dreams and fantasies, where real life, with its mundane cares, is effectively banished (Revels, 2011). Orlando, Florida can be appreciated as a destination where this image was created, where exhilarating attractions, distinct restaurants and hotels, and superior shopping have become a tourist s dream vacation. Orlando has become the first destination in the United States to surpass over 62 million visitors in 2014, setting a new record for tourism as the most visited destination in the nation (Visit Orlando, 2015). Being one of the top leaders in tourism within ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is considered to be the most important component of tourism in a location. It provides the destination with activities and interactive aspects that interest visitors worldwide. Attraction means anything that creates a desire in any person to travel in a specific tourist destination or attraction (Johnpaul, 2015). The attraction is consumed during the stay of the tourist, which impacts the majority of their experience in the destination. In order to create opportunities for tourists to visit places these attractions need to be innovative and simulating (Gisolf, 2012). Attractions can be labeled into different categories based on certain characteristics they offer. These types of attractions are categorized under historical landmarks, museums and galleries, nature, shopping malls, and amusement and water parks (Heath, 2014). Each category has a set of features that make each attraction diverse, such as historical landmarks that have historical significance and nature attractions that incorporate the outdoors. The first African American to earn a PhD in psychology was Francis Cecil Sumner, he qualified for an SSPP membership in 1939, but his membership was delayed and eliminated. Since it is a small town it has a very close knit community, in which everybody knows everybody. In the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, both the physical and the behavioural sides of Maycomb and its townspeople are clearly presented. In a physical sense, Maycomb is a very ordinary town. The houses aren t big and the town square isn t spectacular but for a small town living during the depression they get a long fairly well. Their houses are built of wood, with tin roofs and porches (some of which are being supported by 2x4 boards). The town square is made up of many square faced stores all squished together. Many people have access to internet and Smart phones, so they can easily use the dating apps. Although social media and online dating play vital role in connection of relationship and friendship; they have negative impacts too. There are some advantages and disadvantages of online dating. There are many shy people that cannot propose a marriage or friendship relationship, so online dating and social media are good option for them. It is easy to discuss some issues related to romance and dating rather than face to face meeting. However, some people like only talking and texting rather than having sex or being together. On the other hand, some people are ugly, so it is tough for them to find someone for dating in public; it is easier to find both ugly and beautiful features on online dating. Another advantage of online dating is that some people are super busy, so they cannot find extra time to go outside and find someone for dating. It easier to find someone for relationship through online dating sites rather than to go outside. Fluency in language and good communication skills are very important for dating, therefore some people do not have them, that is why they prefer online dating at the beginning of relationship. I learned that the universal indicator is also a good solution for the three types of compounds. The colours are different depending on what substance you are testing. The colours that we discovered in the pH scale are pink, red or orange. As for bases the colour was either light or dark green sometimes yellow. The colours for neutral, were violet or purple. In real life we are exposed to acids and bases everyday. For example, citric acid is in lots of citrus foods such as lemons, oranges and grapefruits. • 7. Quantitative And Qualitative Methodologies Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted, said Albert Einstein. His saying goes well with certain methodologies applied for analytical research. Researchers broadly consider two methodologies for their research, Quantitative and Qualitative methodologies. Quantitative research is based on the quantity of data, measurement of parameters, comparative calculations based on the numbers, countable incidences, in short quantitative methods collect data and analyse through quantified interpretations, where as in qualitative research preference is given to the real and actualities. Though both have its merits and demerits, most of the modern research scientists agree that both are complimentary to each other rather than opposing to each other while the quantitative studies help to find out the measureable aspects and qualitative study ... • 8. Henry Ford1 Essay Henry Ford1 Octavian Augustus (63 B.C.E 14 AD) is known as the first, and one of the greatest, Roman Emperors ever. Octavian enabled the long, peaceful time of the Pax Romana by changing Rome from a fragile, crumbling republican government to a mighty empire. OctavianÂčs government was strong enough to withstand weak emperors who mismanaged the Empire. His changes proved to be the cornerstone of the greatest empire the world has ever seen. During the Conflict of Orders, the lower class Romans, or plebeians, forced the upper class Romans, known as patricians, to give them more rights and liberties (Hadas 1969). The Republican government in Rome was established to satisfy the plebeians, while still leaving a majority of the control ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He started to accept anyone into the army regardless of whether they owned any land. This created a vast change in the makeup of the armies. Many poor people decided to join in hopes that they would benefit financially from any victories. Soldiers became attached to Roman generals rather than the state because of the possible economic gains (Hanes 1997). The governmentÂčs separation of the army would prove to be a major problem. Laws could only be enforced if The Republic controlled the armies. When the army followed a general rather than the government, the government lost all power. In 90 B.C.E, Roman allies in Italy finally rebelled against the city. The allies were angry that they were not considered citizens of Rome. They had benefited little from Roman expansion even though their citizens had served in the military. After a very bloody campaign, the Social War, as it was called, eventually ended when the allies were defeated. The Senate, however, decided to grant citizenship to the allies (Hanes 1997). This move expanded the Roman State to all of Italy. As the number of citizens grew, The Republic became harder and harder to manage. During the Social Wars, one general, Lucius Cornelius Sulla proved to be very successful in battles. Based on this military success, Sulla was elected consul in 88 BCE After completing his term, Marius tried to stop Sulla from taking any military command. • 10. How Humans Can Improve Our Resilience And Allow Us When researching the history of human adaption it is worth noting that at least twice in the last 1.2 million years our species was almost wiped out. Genetic research shows that at that time the human population on earth was around 18,500, perilously close to extinction (the reason for this is not directly known by scientists). Then about 150,000 years ago, it plummeted again down to just 2,000. This shows that in the past humans have not always been great at surviving which could have been caused by a lack of knowledge on how to live through natural disasters (such as volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, hurricanes, etc). However, humans did survive, with the biggest example being that there is still a human race today. In this day and age ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, 12,000 years ago the area around the Great Lakes was very cold and covered with huge sheets of ice a kilometre thick. Today, that same area has farms and large cities (i.e. Chicago, Detroit and Toronto). The environment can also be changed by human interference, these usually occur in relatively short periods of time. An example of this could be pieces of land changed into farms, housing schemes or small villages. This type of example can be seen on a day to day basis. Every time a physical environment is changed, all the plants and animals (including humans) in that environment must adapt to the changes or face become extinct. Slow changes give living things time to adapt so giving more chance of survival. Fast changes usually don t give living things time to adapt, so they must either move elsewhere or become extinct. Proposal For Implementing A Formal Mentoring Program Essay MEMORANDUM TO: Donald Lower, Partner; Barry Anderson, Partner; John Huber, Partner; Todd Whitlow, Partner FROM: Brooke Vondal, Administrative Officer DATE: September 18, 2016 SUBJECT: Proposal to Implement a Formal Mentoring Program Attached is the proposal to implement a mentoring program at Anderson, Lower, Whitlow P.C. In early summer, ALW hired fifteen recently graduated individuals and 12 have already taken positions at other firms. There needs to be a system in place to develop and foster relationships for these individuals within the firm. This firm has a high turnover rate of new hires; currently, the turnover rate is 85%. Firms that are considered the Big Four are offering mentoring programs that make their employees invested in the company s future. Unfortunately, if ALW does not start to compete with this issue, more employees will be lost to the Big Four Firms. Implementing a strong mentoring program that fosters individual and personal growth within the company is vital for the future of this firm. This includes setting up and maintaining a mentoring program. The mentoring program will be set up with individuals from all levels of achievement, that are willing to devote a portion of their time to the firm s prosperity. Investing in the future of this firm, through a formal mentoring program is a vital step. I look forward to working with you throughout this process. I can be reached at bvondal@alwpc.com or 456 789 0123 ext.123. Thank you for your time. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Analysis of Pauline Puyat’s TracksEssay Analysis of Pauline Puyat s Tracks One of the most striking characteristics of Pauline Puyat is her devout Catholicism and her desire to be disconnected from the Ojibwa people. Throughout Tracks, she openly chooses Catholicism over her native religion and abandons her native ways almost completely. When Pauline tries to help Fleur prevent a miscarriage, she is literally held back by her conscious separation from the Ojibwa culture. There are many things that Pauline fails to do to effectively prevent Fleur from miscarrying. The most obvious is her failure to efficiently put together the herbal steep made of Alder: And I could not remember the plant s configuration, even though its use was common enough for bleeding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pauline s personification of the plants only continues this idea of confusion and abandonment. Her prayer to the Catholic God is almost ironic; Pauline is begging her God to help her remember the practices that she thinks sacrilegious. Pauline s Catholicism and her duties as an Angel of Death continue to control her for the rest of the passage. Before giving Fleur the Alder (or whatever herb she actually grabbed) steep, Pauline is captivated by her face: Fleur s eyes were closed. Her face was drained of color. I k new this look and I was fascinated, rapt, as at other death and sickbeds (157). Here, Pauline forgets what she is doing for Fleur and reverts to her duty as the Angel of Death, abandoning her Ojibwa ways for Catholicism. This seems to create further confusion for Pauline, as Fleur must instruct her on what to do with the alder plant. When Pauline puts herself to that task, she finds that she is unable to do anything because the Lord overtook [her] limbs and made them clumsy...it must have been his terrible will (157). Pauline feels that God does not want her to help Fleur, and is preventing her from doing so by deadening her limbs. Although she is trying to help Fleur, she simply cannot. Pauline s claims that clumsiness and forgetfulness of Ojibwa traditions is God s terrible will, are a claim of validity for both her follies in this passage and her stubborn separations from the Ojibwa. Here are some helpful tips to keep your miles from expiring. Below the useful tips is a table with the major airline and hotel expiration deadlines. Know The Expiration Dates Each frequent flyer program has slightly different rules for when their miles expire. For some international airlines, it can be up to 3 years. For most programs in the US, accounts expire after 18 months of inactivity. This means that if you let your miles account sit for 18 months, and neither earn nor redeem a mile, you will lose them all. And this seems to take people by surprise pretty frequently. It s always a nice surprise to get an email that you ve earned miles after eating at a random cafe in a town you ve never been to before. This free option is worth signing up for. Move points around For the most part, you can t transfer points between airlines. You can also transfer points from Bank Rewards credit cards to airlines. If you have credit card points through American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, or Citi ThankYou cards, you can transfer those points to selected airline partners. Members of the Starwood Preferred Guest program can transfer points to over a dozen different airlines. That s the benefit of a flexible and transferable points programs. In most cases you ll need to transfer a minimum of 1,000 points. Although Starwood Preferred Guests Platinum members can transfer as little as one point to an airline program. Some airlines also allow you to donate a handful of miles to charity, which can be a good option in a pinch. You can also move miles between one person s account to another. Keep in mind, some airlines charge a transfer fee this. Not the best option. Buy Miles When I was in a pinch a few years ago, I bought a 1,000 miles to keep the loyalty account active. This

The Civil War was generally a duel to determine the survival of the United States of America as it defeated the bid for independence by the breakaway Confederate States of America. The Civil War started because of uncompromising differences between the free and slave states over the power of the national government to prohibit slavery in the territories that had not yet become slave states. This event is very crucial in regards to my research question because it is solely the biggest event that incorporates the fundamentals of slavery and why it was so important to slave states and why they wanted to expend slavery throughout the rest of America. It delivers the audience the knowledge on how slaves were used as a force of labor and work transaction. Also it exemplifies that later on, the Confederacy weakened giving northern states the victory and abolishing slavery. The conclusion that I have gained from this research is that slavery has once helped the Confederate states with manual labor, but soon after the civil war, they re defeat against the Northern states hindered their ability to be slave holders and their rights as slave holders were discarded and slavery was ... • 16. Asteroids On The Solar System Kyle Williams Planetary Geology 4/14/2015 Asteroids in Our Solar System Introduction: When the first asteroids were discovered they were thought to be planets, just like every other star in the sky. It is only with the advancement of astronomy that the differentiation could occur. Asteroids are minor planets or sometimes referred to as planetoids or planetesimals. Those names are given to anything in the solar system that does not seem to have the roundedness of a planetary body or the typical characteristics of a comet. Asteroids can form in a number of ways; they can be pieces of a larger extinct planet or a planet that was in the stages of forming when some event occurred to change its path. A majority of the asteroids we know are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The difference between an asteroid and a comet is commonly misunderstood; anything smaller than ten meters across is called a meteoroid, with the broader term minor planet is preferred by the International Astronomical Union. Other languages prefer planetoid and this term is used in English for differentiating between larger minor planets such as the dwarf planets. The word planetesimal has a similar meaning, but refers to the small building blocks of the planets that existed when the Solar System was forming. The three largest objects in the asteroid belt, Ceres, 2 Pallas, and 4 Vesta, grew to the stage of protoplanets. Ceres is a dwarf planet, the only one in the inner Solar System. The main difference between an asteroid and a comet is that a comet shows a coma due to sublimation of near surface ices by solar radiation. A few objects have ended up being dual listed because they were first classified as minor planets but later showed evidence of comet like activity. Conversely, some comets are eventually depleted of their surface volatile ices and become asteroids. A further distinction is that comets typically have more eccentric orbits than most asteroids; most asteroids with notably eccentric orbits are probably dormant or extinct comets (Weissman et al, 2002). Much interest in asteroids stems from the collisional potential of some of their orbits. These near Earth asteroids or earth crosser are categorized into three types; Apollos, ... This goes on until the last 2 stanzas, where the author admits their hopes for the days of old age to be further away to enjoy the younger times longer, hence the main point of the passage. The Lady s Reward is essentially a guide on how to allure men by faking yourself to be the perfect woman. The main point Dorothy Parker is trying to make is that this kind of false love would never make you truly happy. This is shown by the end of the passage, where the elegant tone of the text shifts to a less formal and rhetorical demeanor, stating If that makes you happy, kid, you ll be the first it ever did. The parts leading up to that have a regal or feminine tone, indicated by words such as serene , delicate , gay , and the simile using cherry flowers. The poem, RĂ©sumĂ© , is about the inconveniences of suicide, and Dorothy Parker intends to tell that living is bad, but not nearly as bad as all the ways you could commit suicide, indicated by the final line of might as well live . The mood established in the poem is pessimistic, indicated by saying might as well , which shows unwillingness but acceptance of life, a concept that most anyone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are several theories to who it could be, most are males but there is still a little doubt that could have been a woman, maybe both? The only thing that is known for sure these women were victims of him or her. Jack The Ripper was known for the way he murder, he left cuts on both sides of the neck and made the knees or legs of the women up towards her chest or in the air; in some cases he would destroy the body so bad that it was hard to identify who the victim was. One of the only reasons police knew who the victims were in because Jack would write notes to the police office or the newspaper company telling them who was killing next but not when. Jack The Ripper was a man of pattern and rountie. His killings were all almost alike and his victims had profiles that matched each other s. Jack had five victims, who were all women; the women had a couple things in common, all but one of the women were in their 40s, they were all drinkers, and most of the five women were known to be in the business of prostitution. All five victims were found dead in poorly lit alley ways or stairways, with their necks cut on either side and other lacerations throughout the body. According to Josh Clark, this is what happened to the five victims of Jack The Ripper. Mary Nichols was the first victim, found on August 31, 1888 at 3:45am. Mary was 44 years old who liked her drinks. She was found in a narrow side street of Buck s Row in the Whitechapel; she had an eight inch laceration to her throat that cut both of her major arteries and she had violent cuts on her abdomen. Annie Chapman was the second victim, she was found on September 8, 1888 at 5:45am. Annie was a 47 year old widow who was a heavy drinker and survived through prostitution. Annie was found outside an apartment at 29 Hanbury Street with a man of shabby genteel , a few minutes after her being spotted with the man, a muffled scream of No! followed by a loud thump on the fence. Donatello, Verrocchio, Michelangelo, and Bernini each designed a sculpture of David. However, the sculptures are drastically different from one another. Each one is unique in its own certain way. Donatello, whose David was the first life size nude statue since Classical times, struck a balance between Classicism and the realism by presenting a very real image of an Italian peasant boy in the form of a Classical nude figure. Verrocchio s sculpture is more open. Many people would agree when I say that this mineral is such a nice thing to look at, but few people actually know what it is made of and how it was formed. These precious minerals are composed of Carbon. The process to making this immaculate mineral is as following. First, you must bury Carbon dioxide deep into the earth; approximately, 100 miles deep. Second, you must heat the substance at a temperature of 2,200 degrees fahrenheit. Next, squeeze or tightly compact the substance under pressure of 725,000 pounds per square inch.
