Lily Page proposes an animation project called "Project: Healthy Mind" aimed at 18-24 year olds dealing with mental health issues. The animation will visualize someone's experience with a panic attack using colors and shapes to represent emotions. It will be based on an anonymous interview with stick figure representation. Research will include other mental health animations and games to avoid copying and understand different perspectives on visualizing mental health. The project will be evaluated by gathering feedback from classmates and friends via discussions and surveys. Weekly tasks include conducting the interview, animating based on the response, finishing the animation, and launching the completed project online.

Project proposal title and date:
The name of my project is Project: Healthy Mind and the date is 29/09/2021
Main area of activity
I will make an animation, I started with a game and then decided that I wouldn’t be able to
do that at my skill level so decided instead to create an animation out of the game concept.
I many also make posters but am undecided at the moment.
Target Audience
My target audience is 18–24-year-olds that suffer from mental health issues and either play
games or don’t.
Rationale:
Throughout the year so far there haven’t been any projects that directly impacted how I’m
going to do my project but last year for my FMP I did something similar, I made a game
trailer for a concept, I had to draw a lot and animated things for my experiments. I will use
the skills I gained in animating in this project to enhance the quality of my work. I also did
animation for my adventure project, this was pixel art, but I still got a lot of experience from
it as it was my first time animating, it gave a good insight into what it takes to animate and
just how difficult it is.
Project Concept
The concept for my project is that the animation is going to based around someone’s
experience of a panic attack. I’m going to visualise it by using colours and shapes to
represent the emotions and feelings of the person I’m interviewing. The person speaking
will be represented by a stick figure and will be kept anonymous by using a voice changer.
When they talk the stick figure will walk and as they start getting deeper and deeper into the
experience the colours will be more intense and the shapes will be overwhelming. The
research I need to conduct for this project is other animations and games/game concepts
that focus on mental health, I will do this by watching gameplay of the games, taking notes
and writing them up, I will also watch animations, take notes and write them up afterwards.
This research is important as I need to know what else is out there so I don’t copy them and
also, I want to see other peoples view on mental health and how they visualised it so I can
figure out the best way to implement it into my own project. I will also think about how their
experience affected them in my research and implement that into my own work by asking
about how their experience affected them and if it had any lasting effect on them. I will use
this to enhance the atmosphere of the animation.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed?
I will evaluate it by showing it to my classmates and friends, I will write down their responses or
ask them to do a survey to gather my evaluation information. I will also do daily reflections when
writing about my production reflections, I will then use what I wrote and apply it the next day. This
will help in the future as I will know how to do certain things without having to go back and rework
them, this will help not make as many mistakes which will help me get things done quicker.

Week Specific Tasks
1 Production ï‚· Start by interviewing the person and getting a
voice recording of it, then editing it so it can be
used the way I need it to be used. Work out the
colour palette for the visuals.
2 Production ï‚· Start animatingthe visual going off what the
interviewee said abouttheir experience. Look back at
lastweeks evaluation and make improvements
3 Production ï‚· Continue with animation and get over halfway,go
over lastweeks evaluation and adjustments.
4 Production ï‚· Finish animation then clean up any errors from
before, edit itto the interview, then put everything
on the website.
Be aware which of those weeks are in or out of college,as you may need to plan different tasks around other
work when workingremotely. Budget for approximately 30 hours for production – which is roughly two weeks
of your in collegetime.
