This PowerPoint template provides guidance for planning a film production project. It includes sections for organizing the production team and cast, storyboarding and visual planning, location planning, risk assessments, scheduling, and sound planning. Students are instructed to customize the template for their own project by adding details to each section, such as contact information, location permissions, and asset lists. film with more detail
 Not all the aspects have to be followed verbatim, use the
resource the plan out character, motivation, stakes and the arc of
your film, this will help to ensure that it works structurally

6.  Breakdown your film into it’s basic sections [e.g. via scene
breakdown or similar] and apply broad visual ideas to each

9. Visual Planning

10.  This section is concerned with the visual planning of your film
 You should use this section to develop the sequencing or your
video, establish the visuals look and sequencing of your film and
create a structure for you to follow when filming
 It is important that you ‘pre-visualise’ the film before you make it; it
will make filming and production a more streamlined process
 The following tasks are part of your visual planning
 Pre-visualisation and concept boards
 Storyboarding
 Shot list

11.  Tool for exploring the direction and visuals
 Provides inspiration and information for the “look & feel”
 Presents key moments in your video
 A means to sketch/plan ideas
 Information on colour/lighting
 Defining the “mise-en-scene”
 Include as much here as you like, but keep it relevant to the
production, the following slides have been left blank for you to
approach in your own way, add more as you need to

12.  Lighting- dark lighting then bright lighting to contrast it
 Props- light bulbs, mains switches, locked door, make up
 Colours- darker in garage, lighter in rooms to show contrast.

14.  Your shot list should contain the sequential breakdown of what
you need to shoot for your film
 It should work in partnership with your storyboard
 It will be your working document when you film
 It should contain the shot number, scene number, shot
description, framing, cast/location info and action you will see
 It should also have information on performers in the scene and
other props, etc

19.  Who is going to be in your film, how and why have they been

20.  In my film I will be using my own house I therefore don’t need any
permission or clearance to use this location. Im using it because
everywhere is available there and there is no need for a back up
option. If for some reason a back up location is needed it will be
one of the friends houses. I will be using three rooms and a
garage in filming.

21.  Risk Assess each separate filming location using the provided
form in the pre-production folder on Blackboard and insert into
your powerpoint
 Completing a generic filming assessment would be a start, then
you can add specialist/site specific risks as you progress your
production
 Remember, a Risk Assessment is an ongoing document, you
should evaluate if anything changes in production and when you
put control measures in place

22.  I will be filming all in one day because of availability, I will start
with all the room shots, then the shots of the lights going off, then
the generator, then the jump scare and finally the shots of the
broken glass.

23.  Any place you film and anyone you use in the filming of your
video must have a completed form

24.  List, explain how you’ll acquire and provide an overview of
anything else you’ll need for your production – this is about
anything that isn’t cast, crew, technical equipment and
locations, but could be how those things will be moved to a
location, for example.
Costume - monster costume and make up
The costume make up or mask is used for the monster in the jump
scare at the final scene.
Props - light bulbs, switch, shattered bulbs, glass
I don’t need many props apart from these as there is little the
characters actually interact with.
