Flippo Brunelleschi s Influence On Renaissance Architecture
Have you ever wondered who created those unique, detailed buildings long, long, ago? Renaissance
Architects were inspired by Ancient Rome and Greek architecture, to create beautiful buildings.
Filippo Brunelleschi was influenced and applied his idea s to building one of his most famous
creations. Leon Battista Alberti s sculptures and architecture are mainly due to his three influential
aspects on Renaissance art, and Roman architecture. Andrea Palladio was also influenced by the
Roman and Greek architecture, and with that created some unique buildings in the Renaissance. So
yes, as you can see the architectural aspects of the time of the Renaissance was very important since it

Alberti was not only an amazing architect, he was also very talented in creating Renaissance art
(specifically painting), poetry, and sculpturing, which was a very coincidental, and worked well
together all around. His life span was from February 14, 1404 April 25, 1472. As a designer and a
student of Vitruvius and of ancient Roman remains, he grasped the nature of column and lintel
architecture, from the visual rather than structural viewpoint. Some of his other major
accomplishments through his years was through the influence on ancient rome architecture, he
designed many buildings such as the The Tempio Malatestiano (aka, the Church of San Francesco).
Alberti also designed the New Facade of Santa Maria Novella, Florence in 1456. In his architecture,
he had the intention of using their symbolic content and associations to ennoble a modern building and
give it the sense of having a Renaissance culture feel to almost all of the buildings he would construct.
As one once said about Alberti s work, The result of the distinction is a new emphasis on building
mass totally unlike, even alien to Brunelleschi s architecture at San Lorenzo that so carefully
emphasized plane, space, and line. It is, however, related to the new interest in the quality and majesty
of mass and the sculptural treatment of space at Santo Spirito. So yes,

Horse Trailers
Before you haul a horse in your trailer for the first time, you need to make sure that everything is
hooked up correctly and that your trailers is set up correctly for your horse. Here is a quick checklist
for first time horse haulers to go over before getting on the road.
Start With The Towing Vehicle
Before you even hook up your horse trailer, you need to run a basic safety and maintenance check on
the vehicle that you intend to tow the trailer with. Towing a horse trailer can put a lot of strain on a
vehicle, which is why it is so important to make sure the vehicle you are towing with is in great shape.
Make sure you check all the fluid levels, include the oil, antifreeze and windshield wiper fluid. Check
each tire and make sure it is properly inflated to the manufacturers recommendation for your vehicle.
If your check engine light or any other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before you hook up your trailer, get inside of your trailer and make sure that it is clean. Bees love to
make nests inside of empty trailers and other insects and animals like to take advantage of the space as
well. These types of intruders will scare your horses and could potentially harm your trailer, so be sure
to clean it out before you move it.
After you clean the inside of your horse trailer, it is time to inspect the outside of it. Just like with the
towing vehicle, you ll want to check the tire pressure and make sure it is filled to the correct level
suggested by the manufacturer of your trailer.
After you check the tire pressure, you are going to want to get out a lug nut wrench and make sure that
all the lug nuts are tight on the wheels of your trailer. The lug nuts on a horse trailer can easily become
loose through typical wear and tear, so its a good idea to always check them before out take off and
throughout any long distance trip.

Dyes and Crimes Laboratory Experiment
Zainulabidin Adhami

Abstract:
In the Dyes and Crimes laboratory experiment, the phosphorescence, fluorescence, and
chemiluminescence properties i.e. traits of several chemicals were examined using (UV) Ultraviolet
lamp. Observations on color, intensity, duration of glow, etc. were analyzed to determine the traits of
the several chemicals. Correspondingly, the author of the unsigned note was determined through ink
extraction, (TLC) Thin Layer Chromatography, (UV Vis) Ultraviolet visible spectroscopy along with
the Rf values for of each individual sample of ink compared to the unknown: the ink of the author on
the unsigned note. Phosphorescence substances ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dyes in the laboratory experiment are made of numerous colors, mainly red and blue, the spectra
from each of the dyes corresponded to the wavelengths obtained from each of dye i.e. 620 nm for red
and 450 nm for blue.
Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) works in relation to the polarity of chemicals. A plate is first
covered with aluminum foil or silica etc. and has solutions of varying polarities placed upon the
aluminum foil or silica. When placed in a in a puddle of solvent that moves up the plate, the different
inks i.e. the solution will move up the place based on their Rf values. Adherence increases with
increasing polarity, so the less polar compounds will be carried farther by the solvent. Eventually the
dyes will separate into their compontnets, which can be visibly seen. This is then used to determine
who the ink of the unsigned note belonged to along with the pen that it belonged

Chemical And Biological Properties Of Soil Pollution
It is always difficult to remove contaminations from soils because it contains many toxic chemicals
such as (Pb, As, Cu, Cd, Cr, Ni, Hg and Zn). This chemicals mixed with the soil after burning of
industrial waste, electronics waste or uses of agricultural technology. Then rain water makes it seep
deep into the soil and cause soil pollution. This makes it so difficult and time consuming to remove,
particularly when the affected area is on a large scale. Soil is made of by two components which are
organic and inorganic solid constituent, water and mixture of different gasses present in various
proportions. The mineral component in the soil varies, according to the parent material which the soils
had been developed due to the issue of different type of climate conditions. Also, soil can also be
classified into three different properties, physical, chemical and biological properties. Physical
properties of soil are being controlled by soil water movement, such as texture and soil structures. The
soil moisture have high tendency in controlling solute movement, salt solubility, chemical reaction and
microbiological activities and most importantly the bioavailability of metal ions. In this situation, a
successful phytoremediation program must be considered as an alternative in the specific site. In the
past lots of researchers have tried different method in order to mitigate or reclaim the heavy metals
polluted soils, but so far phytoremediation is the best of all because it is

Analysis Of Sacrifice In Cyrano De Bergerac By Edmond Rostand
Sometimes in life, it takes a tragic scenario for us to learn a lesson. In the play Cyrano de Bergerac by
Edmond Rostand, the plot tells of a man named Cyrano who has a large nose and is unable to reveal
his love to a woman named Roxane, so he poses under the name of a handsome man named Christian
to win Roxane s love. The two use what they lack from each other to eventually win her love, but the
deaths of both Christian and Cyrano in the end reveal that if one loves and cares about someone, then
one should sacrifice one s own needs for them.
The first death we witness in the play is Christian s when he is in battle and readers can learn that one
must come to their own truths before one dies. There Roxanne risks her life to come see Christian on
the battlefield. Christian asks Roxanne, And now, Roxane, tell ... Show more content on

His response to Roxane shows he has realized that it is not him that Roxane loves, but Cyrano.
Unfortunately, before Christian was able to confess to Roxane, he is shot by the opposing enemy and
his life ended shortly afterwards. Christian was never able to come to his own truths before he dies,
and instead he asks Cyrano to confess to Roxanne of the truth. Cyrano had the perfect chance to
confess his love, but was placed in a position that would cause Roxanne more to grief. Cyrano decides
to sacrifice his chance of love with Roxanne for the better of both Roxanne and Christian. Cyrano
decides to lie to Christian as he had his last breath of life and told him that he confessed to Roxanne,
and she still loved Christian, but in reality he had said nothing to save Roxanne from another
heartbreak and so Christian died happy. This is a great example of sacrificing your own needs for the
benefit of

Peripheral Vascular Disease
Background
Peripheral vascular disease is a disease that affects the peripheral circulatory system. PVD is also
referred to as peripheral arterial disease. PVD includes both the veins and the arteries. In PVD there is
a problem with blood flow due to a narrowing of blood vessels which is occurring from a different
pathology. The most common cause of PVD is atherosclerosis. Patients with PVD can range from
asymptomatic to severe and require amputations (Giorgi 2015).
Etiology
Peripheral vascular disease is divided into subcategories of functional and organic. Functional PVD
does not involve physical problems in the blood vessels. It causes incidental or short term symptoms.
These are usually spasms that occur erratically. Organic PVD involves changes in blood vessel
structure. This type of PVD causes inflammation, tissue damage, and blockages (Giorgi 2015). The
number one leading cause of peripheral vascular disease is atherosclerosis. This is a gradual process in
which a fatty material builds up inside the arteries (emedicinehealth 2015). Other contributing factors
to PVD include smoking, inactivity, diabetes, obesity, high blood cholesterol, hypertension, emboli
from another location, inflammation of blood vessels, injury to blood vessels, and stress. (Giorgi
2015)

The final product is a plaque that then begins to narrow the path of blood flow in the arteries and can

The Beatles Were The Most Influential Events Of The Rock Era
Rock Era
The Beatles were the greatest and most influential act of the rock era. They introduced more
innovations into popular music than any other rock band in the twentieth century.
The Beatles was a distinguished group of young band artist. They were the Fab Four, or as the
reporters call them Mop Tops. They were very different then most rock bands because they had a
British accent. The band began in the late 1950 s. Every member of the band was young, they all
started their love of music as a teenager. John was the origin of the Quarrymen, later known as the
Beatles. John started out as a young artist in high school with his band from the inspiration from Elvis
Presley. Don t Let Me Down , a song written by John to express his love for Yoko Ono. The song was
found to be heartfelt and passionate for love. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Lennon was the leader of the band. John had his own band throughout high school which
eventually introduced the Beatles. Paul McCartney sauntered John in between concerts after hearing
him play. John and Paul had conversations which lead to John asking Paul if he would like to join the
band. Paul was puzzled at the beginning but in the end Paul said yes. John and Paul continued to play
at the concerts and at home. After some time Paul made a conjecture to make a conscription to the
band. It was then eight months after John and Paul played together when he made the conjecture but
John soon approved his conjecture. Soon they recruited a young artist (George Harrison) from high
school, who was at the age of fourteen at the time. At first they weren t for sure about recruiting the
guy but they did two weeks before his fifteenth

Blackrobe Movie Review Essay
‘Black Robe Movie Critique
‘Black Robe is the story of a young Jesuit Priest from France who embarks on a religious journey to
convert, to Christianity, the Aboriginal tribes of New France. Set primarily in Ontario during the mid
1630 s, Father Lafargue travels from Quebec via the Ottawa River to the home of the Huron people in
what is now referred to as the Simcoe Region of South Central Ontario. He is aided by a band of
Algonquin speaking people, numbering roughly 20 and a young Frenchman with aspirations of
Priesthood in the motherland. Blackrobe offers an intriguing insight into the relationships between the
French and the Aboriginals. That being said most of the background for the movie is taken from a
massive archive of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Jesuit Priests saw the Aboriginals as savage and uncultured. not unlike the English or Germans
before French influence. During a flashback sequence belonging to the main protagonist Father
Lafargue, one can see what the elite of France, to which he belongs, think about their new colony.
According to his mother it is a land of backwards people with dangers around every corner which was
certainly not the case.
A point of contention between critics is the depiction of the horrible torture scenes which illustrates,
one might conceive, the Aboriginals barbarism. In one of the opening scenes, a contingent of French
workers joke about the various ways the Aboriginals torture Jesuit Priests and Frenchmen alike, not to
mention other rival tribes. An example of this barbarism is illustrated when the survivors of the
Iroquois attack go through beating lines to inevitably be tortured by having their fingers removed
surgically with mussel shells. Although these actions are barbaric, they are no worse than the atrocities
that arguably every ‘civilized nation during the time period committed. This being said, the film
seems to make the Iroquois more barbaric than they actually were omitting the fact that they routinely
practiced cannibalism.
It is interesting to observe the camera work whereby in almost all the scenes the Jesuits occupy higher
position than anyone else. This refers to the Jesuits standing over the Aboriginals

And as I have learned from our Marketing class discussion, managing and establishing a good
branding of your products are of great importance when entering into the realm of business. But,
despite its known importance, many people may still have linked the meaning of brand to just the
name or label of a business. Here, we must know that it is definitely more than just that.
As defined by Kotler and Armstrong (2013), a brand is a name, term, sign, symbol, design, or a
combination of these that identifies the seller or the product or service from its competitors. With that
being said, it really does encompass a broader definition as to what the name only suggests. Thus,
anything associated with its composition name, term, sign, symbol or design can critically affect the
brand of a business and hence, could make or break your business per

Ender s Game Analysis
Ender plays multiple games. One of the game he plays with his brother and is called buggers and
astronauts. It is a game that prepared him for fighting people physically. The game is where one
person puts on a bugger mask and the human and the bugger actually fight. Ender almost dies because
of how aggressive his brother is. Because of this happening multiple time Ender kept getting stronger.
When he would play the game with his brother Ender would get more violent and soon he got into a
fight with his bully and beat him. Ender beat his bully so much that he would never want to mess with
ender ever again. Another game he plays is called Free Play which is a mind game. It is based on the

start the fight. Especially with Bonzo because he wanted Ender dead. Ender just wanted to end the
fight, so he ended that fight and all the ones after it by doing what he did. Ender was tricked into
killing off an entire species. When Ender realizes what just happened, that he killed not only the army
but the children of the biggers, he is horrified at what he has done. I didn t want to kill them all. I didn
t want to kill anybody! I m not a killer! You didn t want me, you bastards, you wanted Peter, but you
made me do it, you tricked me into it! (Ch.14, Pg.391)(Excuse the language it is a quote). So we can t
blame Ender he was tricked into it and felt terrible after it. A lot of people think Ender is a good child.
Graff is very enthusiastic about Ender and rarely ever has something bad to say about Ender. The only
person who seems to be the hardest on Ender is himself. He is so worried on becoming his brother,
Peter, that he is so hard on himself to make sure he does not turn into

How To Solve The Objective Problem
Since there are only two variables , we can solve this problem using the Graphical Method by
graphing the set of points in the plane that satisfies the constraint set and then finding which point of
this set maximizes the value of the objective function . Each inequality constraint is satisfied by a half
plane of points, and the constraint set is the intersection of all the half planes. In the present example,
the constraint set is the five sided figure shaded in Figure 1.(2) We want to determine the point 〖(
x〗_(1 ),x_█(2@)) that maximizes the objective function . The function 〖 x〗_(1 )+ x_█(2 @)is
constant over any line with slope = 1 and as we move this line further up and to right from the origin
the value of the function ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The linear programming problem is feasible if the constraints set is not empty , otherwise it is
infeasible . The linear programming problem is said to be unbounded when the objective function is
infinite , so it has a solution that can be made infinitely large without violating any of its constraints .
All Linear Programming Problems Can be Converted to Standard Form All problems defined as
maximizing or minimizing a linear function subjected to a linear constraints can be converted into the
form of a standard maximum problem by the following techniques : (1) A minimum problem can be
converted to standard maximum by multiplying the objective function by 1 . Also , constraints of the
form ∑_(j=1)^(n )▒a_(ij ) x_j ≥ b_i can be changed to the form ∑_(j=1)^(n )▒〖 a〗_(ij ) x_j ≤ b_i .
(2) Some constraints may be equalities An equality constraint (n j=1 aijxj = bi may be removed, by

Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs Essay
Introduction Maslow s hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology proposed by Abraham Maslow in
his 1943 paper A Theory of Human Motivation in Psychological Review. People are motivated to
achieve certain needs. When one need is fulfilled a person seeks to fulfill the next one, and so on.
(Maslow,1943). Physiological needs The first stage of Maslow s hierarchy of needs is physiological
needs. As a person, physiological needs such as air, food, drink, shelter, sex and others are our
necessities in our daily life. Basically, this requirement must be fulfill in order to achieve the next
level or if not, it will eventually fail. Obviously, the most important stage is physiological need
because it is the most basic essential before moving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This fourth stages of Maslow s Hierarchy can be achieve when the needs of the bottom three levels
have been satisfied. As a human beings, we need to feel good about ourselves and we need to
appreciate people around us in order to feel that we are valued by others. According to Cherry (2011),
participation in professional activities, academic accomplishment, athletic or team participation can all
play an important roles to fulfilling this needs. Being able to satisfy this needs help people to gain
more confidence in life and can move to the highest stages of Maslow s Hierarchy needs which is self
actualization. However, failure to achieve this needs can lead to inferiority and lack of self esteem.
Self actualization The highest level of Maslow s Hierarchy needs is self actualization, this need can be
achieve after we have successfully satisfy the other stages of Maslow s Hierarchy needs. Self
actualization is the stage where we have achieve the target of our life. However, this stages is vary
from one person to another. It is because every person has their own goals in life and when the goals
have been achieve, there comes self actualization. As Maslow (1954) stated that what a man can be, he
must be. (p. 91). Thus, a person who has satisfy this needs can be consider as a successful person.

The Based Sharing Economy Is The Community Based Online...
Technology based sharing economy is the community based online services that sharing the access to
goods and services based on peer to peer mode (Hamari, Sjöklint Ukkonen, 2015).
The widespread of mobile tablets and advanced payment ways motivate the advent of the technology
based sharing economy like Airbnb and Uber. The sharing economy nowadays is just a reengineered
consumption model consists of old processes and digital technologies (Sundararajan, 2013). In other
words, digital technologies are the powerful enablers for the rising of sharing economy.
Sharing economy opens a new door for the whole world, however, there remains some obstinate
problems and one significant issue is the fuzzy regulations. One news reported that NSW ... Show

The fuzzy regulation s promoting the development of sharing economy not only brings impressive
benefits but also causes serious problems.
1.Impact on society
Merits
1)Create further sustainable society. The fuzzy regulations provide a suitable growing environment for
sharing economy performers such as Airbnb and Uber. The application of Uber takes full advantage of
cars not only relieve the congestion but also cuts emissions, which benefits the sustainability of
society.
2)Boost economy for some cities. One study found that 14% of Airbnb customer would not visit a city
without Airbnb (Heinrichs, 2013). As Airbnb rental is cheaper than hotel services, people tend to
travel with Airbnb, which also promote the tourism in these cities.
Demerits
1)Hidden danger caused by fuzzy rules. There remain no clear rules to regulate the peer to peer
business, which will cause great danger. If a car accident occurs to Uber driver, who should take the
responsibility, the driver, the passenger, or Uber whereas Uber may just claim that it just is a
communication platform for car pooling service. Therefore, clear and corresponding rules should be
applied to avoid such flaws.
2)Uncertain service quality. As the emerging of Airbnb and Uber, there are blurred boundaries
between personal and professional services (Malhotra Alstyne, 2014). To what extent, the service
quality is affected. For instance, a noisy

An Expert Who Fostered The Immature Criminal Investigation...
Have you ever remarked, appreciated, or even begrudged someone who seemed to be endowed with
the perfection in manipulating logic and the rare possession of eidetic memory? The probability of me
receiving a solid no would likely emerge. Admittedly, it is rather difficult to encounter gifted people
with astonishing talents, even in many renowned institutes and colleges. However, exceptions do exist
in literature, and amongst the noble characters stands the detective Sherlock Holmes, an expert who
fostered the immature criminal investigation system of the 1880s London. His outstanding skills in
deduction and observation, along with his famous, eidetic memory, have been the most popular topics
amongst readers since the publication of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle s first Sherlock Holmes story, A

entertainment industries and impressed people of all countries. One thing that distinguishes Sherlock
Holmes from mundane Scotland Yard officers is his insightful means to resolve cases deduction.
Deduction has been the efficacious shot of antibiotics straightly transported to the nub of complication

Comparing Two Leaders By Charles Schneider
This paper explores two leaders, one with strong success, and the other with less success, and
evaluating the differences and similarities between the two leaders. Charles Schneider was the COO of
eCollege, which was purchased by Pearson, from 1999 2001. Schneider left eCollege on unfavorable
terms due to his competitive and confrontational leadership style, and he has chosen to not list
eCollege in his background on either his Builder Sourcing or Mygoflight biography pages (Denver

Roegies became a Vice President at TomTom when she was 35, and is now at Pearson (Linkedin,

her directive was to create a combined Program Management Organization that had been three

leader and follower relationships, each leaders use of referent power with their leaders, colleagues,
and subordinates, how each leader motivated and rewards employees, as well as their self destruct
tendencies. Both leaders rose to power early in their careers. Prior to becoming the President and COO

Drug Abuse Among Professional Athletes Essay
Drug abuse among professional basketball players is a problem as old as time. In some circumstances
it may not be the athletes fault. For example when they are treating a minor cough or a cold, the
medications used will sometimes contain small amounts of alcohol. On the other hand some athletes
purposely abuse drugs for a variety of reasons. Some attempt to cover up the presence of other drug
abuse but most abuse drugs because they will enhance their performance. The most common abused
drugs in professional basketball are: anabolic steroids, marijuana, and amphetamines. Each drug has
its own effect on performance, and disciplinary actions.

Apathy, impaired judgment, loss of ambition, and an inability to carry out long term plans characterize
the motivational syndrome. Just like steroid abuse has its consequences and disciplinary actions so
does marijuana abuse. Marijuana also has the same three testing methods as steroids have: reasonable
cause, first year, and veteran. For a first offense of marijuana possession or use, the player will be
required to enter the substance abuse program with no suspension or fine. On a second offense, the
player will be fined $15,000 and be required to re enter the program. A third offense will result in a
five game suspension and another entry into the program. Any further abuse of marijuana will not
result in any disqualification from the National Basketball Association but a further suspension will be
prearranged.
Amphetamines are used to delay the point of fatigue in athlete s workouts, to which they will be able
to withstand more exercise and competition. Amphetamines do not create extra physical and mental
energy. They are significant for distorting the player s perception of reality and impairing judgment,
which may cause an athlete to participate while injured, possibly leading to worse injuries and putting
others at risk. Various tests that have been conducted on professional basketball players suggest that
amphetamine use can enhance skills which play a key roll in athletic performance. The skills

Biography Of Giovanni Boccaccio s Magnum Opus The...
There made its appearance that deadly pestilence, which, whether disseminated by the influences of
the celestial bodies, or sent upon us mortals by God in His just wrath by way of retribution for our
iniquities, had its origin some years before in the East, whence, after destroying an innumerable
multitude of living beings, it had propagated itself without respite from place to place, and so,
calamitously, had spread abroad into the West .
These are the lines from Giovanni Boccaccio s magnum opus The Decameron , which consists of
various tales narrated by seven young women and three young men seeking refuge in a secluded villa
outside Florence to escape from one of the greatest catastrophies in human history. The Black Death .

Domestic Problems Of African Americans
Abstract Living in the Southern parts of the United States since the end of the Civil War was not easy
for people of color especially African Americans. Because of a great deal of economic uncertainty, it
was gravely difficult to attain financial security as well as be treated as an equal instead of a piece a
property which had been the case for over three hundred years. Nearly one fourth of all white
Southerners owned slaves, and upon the backs of these slaves, the economic basis of America and
much of the Atlantic world was constructed. In the several cotton states, one third of all white income
was derived from slavery. By the end of the Civil War and the abolishment of slavery, White
Americans began isolating the ex slaves. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

superiority. Most Southern whites who had aspirations of becoming a very prominent slave owner,
were terrified of a society with considerable numbers of African Americans who were not slaves.
Segregation moved by way of public accommodations, all the way through the South. DeFina Hannon
(2011) and others showed daily interactions of whites and blacks in the South, during reconstruction
of the south identified racial prejudices were increasing steadily, after the Civil War and especially
during the 1880 s. Town after town across the south flatly banned African Americans within their city
limits after dark. Legal, political, social and demographic changes in the south made lynching
dysfunctional as a source of control. Among other more delicate control mechanisms, modern housing
segregation helped serve as a replacement to brutal racial oppression or even death. Jim Crow Laws

Technology Dbq
Why do you think we are advanced in technology today? It all started years ago, when the first
humans Adam and Eve were on earth and were capable of communicating with one another. Than
flash forward to 8,000 years ago, the first evidence of an alphabet was found from the Phoenician
around 1500 BCE. People started to write on papyrus and then they started to write on scrolls. Monks
started to write on books in a room known as a scriptorium. The scriptorium was also known as a
copying room. In 600 CE the Chinese introduced the woodblock printing. This was difficult for the
Chinese because they had to carve 50,000 characters on wood and eventually the carve letters would
wear out. A man named Johannes Gutenberg saw his chance to make something ... Show more content

To recap, the printing press was a phenomenal and a unique apparatus. It was constructed by a
goldsmith named Johannes Gutenberg. The printing press made the lives of everyone simple, it was
used for printing things. It was a big advancement during this time period. It was auspicious and many
famous people used it such as Martin Luther. Martin Luther used it because he was disappointed with
his church because they were selling indulgences. The printing press made it possible for Luther to
copy 95 theses and nail them in the front door. The 95 these were known all through out, this would be
impossible without the printing press to make the 95 Theses known throughout Germany in two weeks
and throughout Europe in a month. . Although one of the consequences of the printing press was
exploration, reformation was the most important because the printing press made people more literate
and created new believes. They had a better understanding of the Bible and were able to tell if the
pope was lying to them or not. This is why the most important consequence of the printing press was

The Fall Of Dinosaurs By Dinosaurs

The fall of Dinosaurs
It is hard to imagine that millions of years ago, the Earth was not dominated by humans, but by
Dinosaurs. These great Beast s, who were as big or bigger than cars, roamed the land. Some were
giant killing machines, like the Tyrannosaurus Rex.Some are even alive today, while many people do
not even notice. There have been countless theories as to how the dinosaurs became extinct.
The dinosaurs ruled the land for millions of years, and it seems impossible that such magnificent
creatures could have been taken off the earth. Dinosaurs were very adaptable to their environment and
traversed the entire earth. They were even found on lands like Antarctica, and many different oceanic
islands like north Island, New Zealand, and a island called Spitsbergen.(Creation.com/Oard) There
have even been Dinosaur fossils found in northern Alaska next to the arctic Ocean.(Oard) These
questions have perplexed researchers, and it has made them wonder if dinosaurs were Endotherms,
Ectotherms, or some combination in between.(Oard) An example of this is a comment from researcher
Michael Benton, Should we now imagine Dinosaurs as thermally insulated Warm Blooded animals
that ploughed through the snowdrifts and scraped brush the ice off the ground to find food? .(Oard)
For the past several years, Different dinosaur tracks have been discovered at over 1,500 locations from
around the world.(Oard) The number of tracks are in the

Essay on Love in the Epic of Gilgamesh and Genesis
At an early point in history, The Epic of Gilgamesh and the story of Genesis were two texts that set the
framework of the entire world. They were two epics that established the foundations of religion,
literature, and all other standards that were followed by every category of people. Both texts entice the
audience through antique language, and the stories of epic heroes and immortal gods. Sin Leqi
Unninni and the many writers of the Bible use love as their central theme, yet it unfolds as having
distinguishing effects on all characters throughout both texts. In The Epic of Gilgamesh, the author
conveys love as a motivational factor for helping Gilgamesh and other characters transition into better
individuals, whereas in the Old ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The joyful people will stoop with sorrow; and when you have gone to the earth I will let my hair grow
for your sake, I will wander through the wilderness in the skin of a lion (Unninni 95). He stays with
him until his body starts to diminish, and later finds himself searching for immortality. Gilgamesh
goes on a journey challenging the gods of the underworld searching for his immortality and a chance
to see Enkindu. At the start of the text Gilgamesh was empowered by the acts of raping the towns
women and belittling men, nevertheless, Enkindu is the figure that actually contests Gilgamesh for his
power. It is through Enkindu that he realizes how precious humanity can be. Whether it is a
homosexual or brotherly love, Gilgamesh falls in love with the man in Enkindu that helps him
transpire into a greater human being. This quote reveals the first time that Gilgamesh makes a sacrifice
in the name of love. In The Epic of Gilgamesh, Leqi Unninni conveys through his writing that the
account of Gilgamesh maturing is done through the act of love. In Genesis, Cain shows similar
qualities to Enkindu. Where Enkindu was searching for recognition of the Uruk people, Cain was
fighting for the recognition of God after his sacrifices were not sufficient enough to compete with
those of Abel. As a result, Cain kills his brother, showing the corrupt side of

Neil Postman Learning In The Age Of Television Summary
In 1985, author Neil Postman released an article titled Learning in the Age of Television . The focus of
the article is how technology, more specifically television, can influence and affect the education of
children. Postman elaborates on these topics by bringing in facts and examples, such as the
educational television show Sesame Street , to support his claims.
Postman begins his article discussing how parents have embraced the educational television show
Sesame Street . The program would prove to justify children s overexposure to television as well as
relieving parents of the responsibility of teaching their children how to read (1). Aside from just
appearing to be an imaginative aid in helping Americans to read, Sesame Street would ... Show more

Educational television shows such as Sesame Street can be effective in learning as long as viewership
of the program is not excessive. An educational show of the sorts can create a strong basis for a task
such as reading or learning the alphabet. The show would also help to better prepare a student on a
topic before they learn the topic at hand in school. A problem only arises if one watches an excessive
amount of educational television and just expects education in classrooms to be all entertainment as
well. Teaching and entertainment do not have to be independent of each other as one can highlight or
emphasis a point by using the other. As for electronic media in general, I do agree with Postman that it
can be debatable when it comes to education, however, I also believe that it can also be very beneficial
if done right. Whether it is a video or film an educator shows in class, the media can help to emphasize
or elaborate on a point trying to be made. The media can act as an aid to students to help them develop
a more well rounded understanding on a topic. I also disagree with one of Postman s three
commandments as the second one, regarding perplexity, cannot be applied to all television shows.
Postman states that a perplexed learner is a learner who will turn to another station.

Formal Analysis Paper
The purpose of this paper is the study of formality and informality in letters. Throughout this analysis
we get the idea of how language works in different contexts. In order to carry on this research I will
explain the main features that make a text formal or informal depending on certain aspects.
So as to complete this research I have required a collection of several letters, four exactly, in order to
see the different features that each text presents; Using less number of texts would have been
problematic because I would not have enough data to show clearly the differences. The letter of
apology is taken from the Archdiocese of Washington and is addressed to a parishioner; the letter of
complaint is taken from the co founder and executive director of Stop Animal Exploitation Company
which is addressed to Dr Gibbens the director of USDA/APHIS/AC (United State Department of
Agriculture; Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and Animal Care respectively) against the
University of Nevada, Reno facility. Finally The formal letters are taken from two people who posted
their private letters in a website. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the easiest way to point out a special occasion or to express something which is difficult to say
face to face, (BBC). For instance a letter expressing best wishes for the graduation of a friend, for a
job promotion or to communicate with a friend who lives in another country, etc. They use to be
private, friendly and spontaneous. In contrast when we want to make a complaint or an inquiry, to
send an apology, to apply for a job or to find out information we use formal letters. In fact the main
difference between formal and informal letter is that each one serve a different goal: a formal letter is
written for professional or academic purposes (official and business) whereas the informal letter is
applied to personal communication,

Friday Night Lights Book vs. Movie Essay
Friday Night lights
Is High School football a sport, or is it more than that to some people? I ve learned that the book is
more sociological, which means that it focused on our human society of racial issues and also
emphasizes the economy and the divide between the wealthy residents of one city versus the more
working class denizens of another are all subjects that are given an in depth examination. This is more
of the main or focal point of the whole book and in not so much in the movie. Although Bissinger s
story is a true life recounting of the 1988 football season of the Permian High School team, it reads
like fiction and even though I believe his book is superior, the theatrical adaptation still stands apart as

In Odessa, Texas high school football is a major contributor to the society of a small town in Texas
society. Every Friday night, 50,000 people fill the stadium to see high school students put their lives
on the line to win a football game. H. G. Bissinger writes a novel called Friday Night Lights, about a
year in 1988 where High School players prepare and play on the High School team, and what an
impact they have on a small city in Texas.
The novel begins with preseason football in the heat of a Texas summer. The players and coaches
practice over 4 hours a day in 100 degree weather. The media is affecting every player pushing for a
state championship and college scouts at every practice. The boys who gave completely of themselves
for their sport are unique personalities. From dedicated quarterback Mike Winchell to Harvard bound
Brian Chavez to the inscrutable Ivory Christian, the team was full of young men who were singular
human beings, each one bringing something special and indefinable to their group. And that s just
scratching the very surface. The book recounts the tragic story of Boobie Miles, team s star running
back who had been highly recruited by all of the major programs. He is expected to attend and earn a
scholarship to a large state college. The community

The Frogs
Aristophanes The Frogs was first performed at the festival of Dionysus in 504BC, a year before the
end of the Peloponnesian war, and was so well received it not only won the competition for comedy,
but was also given an encore taking the form of a second performance in that same year. At the time of
the plays performance Athens was run by an assembly of its citizens, in some ways comparable to a
modern democracy, where any man who had completed two years of military service was able to vote.
Politics therefore was an important part of Athenian life, with many young men studying the art of
debating, something reflected in The Frogs by its many references and illusions to political figures. It
is hard to doubt that in his play Aristophanes intended to educate or inform his audience, especially
considering the plays many allusions to the advisory role of poets. The objective of this essay
therefore is not to answer the question does Aristophanes inform, educate and entertain his audience in
the frogs but to identify both where and how he does so, both linguistically and structurally. The
problem with this however is that any talk about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the parabasis the chorus leader exits the dance and, either partially or fully taking on the voice of
the poet, addresses the audience directly. It is hard to doubt that in his inclusion of a parabasis
Aristophanes intended to take on the advisory role of a poet. In his article A lesson From Frogs
Geoffrey Arnott argued that Aristophanes used the parabasis in Frogs to advocate for two different
policies: the pardoning of those exiled after the oligarchic revolution of 411 10, and the formation of a
government led by the noblest families in Attica . Whether you agree or disagree with Arnott s specific
claims, it is clear that in his parabasis Aristophanes seeks to educate and inform his audience into

Humans Impact On Climate Change
Humans Impact on Climate Change Most of the blame for climate change over the years especially
after the 1850 s has been placed on humans. As long as modern humans have roamed the earth, they
have been upsetting the natural balance of the earth. People have did this by clearing areas of land,
killing animals, polluting water, etc. Before the modern human , people like the Native Americans
cared for the earth. They respected the land and the people that cared for it. Unfortunately, people don
t care anymore. Until recently, people did not care for the earth. People did not realize the harm they
were causing it. Now we know how detrimental things are that we continue to do and used to do. We
are slowly destroying our climate and environment. The land and ocean surfaces have warmed
roughly 1.53 degrees Fahrenheit from 1880 2012 (How much has the global temperature risen since
1880? 1). Land warms faster than the oceans. In the northern hemisphere, 1983 to 2012 were the
warmest 30 year period in the last 1,300 years (How much has the global temperature risen since
1880? 1). This is a cause for concern among scientist. According to the IPCC, Latin America s
contribution of greenhouse gases globally is at a low of 4%. In this area, deforestation is quite
common and the release of carbon to the atmosphere from it has the potential to alter the global
carbon balance. Latin American forest represent 27% of the global forest coverage (The regional

Lacrosse vs. Soccer
Lacrosse vs. Soccer Everyone enjoys being healthy, and playing sports is one way to achieve being
healthy. Most people enjoy watching or playing sports. Parents usually enroll their children to play
sports at a young age. Lacrosse and soccer are two great sports to stay healthy, search for great
opportunity; however, both cost money to play competitively. Soccer is better in all three of these
regards. Soccer has more opportunity and is less expensive. Lacrosse and soccer players are equally
healthy, built differently in regard to the respective sport, but healthy nonetheless. Soccer players are
extremely complete athletes; they must be able to run for 6 miles without stopping, jogging and
sprinting. Soccer players must start training at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the highest level leagues are in Spain, England, and Italy. Although all those countries seem
far away it isn t as hard as it seems to make it to a team from one of those countries. The teams from
the major soccer leagues send scouts all over the world to give children an opportunity to play for
them, no matter where they play. If the scouts feel someone is good enough, they will call and put in a
good word for a player and more scouts will go watch until they decide whether or not to give the
player a chance. The fact that it doesn t matter if they re playing on the street or if they re playing
organized soccer makes the game more accessible.
By being so accessible to the people soccer becomes a cheap sport. Club teams, which give a good
opportunity to get scouted, don t cost too much money. Some of the best club teams will cost one
thousand dollars total, with trips to tournaments included. However, those clubs aren t the only ones a
player can choose. There are many leagues that will only cost someone seventy to eighty dollars to
play per season. Although what really makes soccer one of the cheapest sports is the lack of
equipment needed to play. All that is needed to play is a field, cleats, a jersey and shin guards. The
jersey and field is given to the player by the team, and the cleats and shin guards can be

Foxconn In China Case Study
China s success in consumer electronic manufacturing can be traced to the creation of special
economic zones in the early 1980s, intended to increase foreign capital and boost exports as the means
to integrate regional and global economies (Chan and Seldon 2013, 103). This capitalism was a sharp
departure from the previous Communist based economic policies that dominated the country for
decades (Ya and O Donnell 2017). The Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (one of four) was
established in May 1980 adjacent to the border with Hong Kong, which was experiencing its own
economic boom (Ngai and Chan 2012, Ya and O Donnell 2017). Manufacturing in the Shenzhen
Economic Zone grew exponentially after the Chinese government began offering ... Show more

Grain dependent Henan Providence, which has the largest population of any providence, is largely
excluded from the financial support provided to coastal areas of the country with large ports (French

economic prosperity in a region of China otherwise extremely poor (Barboza 2016). Zhengzhou is
inseparably linked with the Chinese government; the Foxconn factory there provides a case study of
exclusive economic incentives provided by the government to the company. Based on documents
obtained by the New York Times, these benefits are unlike anything else in the world. For instance, the
Zhengzhou government spent $1 billion dollars on housing for iPhone City s six million people, most
of them Foxconn workers. The $600 million factory itself was largely financed by the government,
and taxes were eliminated for Foxconn for five years. To facilitate rapid exportation of electronics,
customs is located directly outside the factory s perimeter. An airport is nearby, in which the
Zhengzhou government will be pumping $10 billion into. To staff this 2.2 mile factory site, the
government assists in recruiting workers and providing formal training. Ultimately, state recruited

  • 2. Flippo Brunelleschi s Influence On Renaissance Architecture Have you ever wondered who created those unique, detailed buildings long, long, ago? Renaissance Architects were inspired by Ancient Rome and Greek architecture, to create beautiful buildings. Filippo Brunelleschi was influenced and applied his idea s to building one of his most famous creations. Leon Battista Alberti s sculptures and architecture are mainly due to his three influential aspects on Renaissance art, and Roman architecture. Andrea Palladio was also influenced by the Roman and Greek architecture, and with that created some unique buildings in the Renaissance. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alberti was not only an amazing architect, he was also very talented in creating Renaissance art (specifically painting), poetry, and sculpturing, which was a very coincidental, and worked well together all around. His life span was from February 14, 1404 April 25, 1472. As a designer and a student of Vitruvius and of ancient Roman remains, he grasped the nature of column and lintel architecture, from the visual rather than structural viewpoint. Some of his other major accomplishments through his years was through the influence on ancient rome architecture, he designed many buildings such as the The Tempio Malatestiano (aka, the Church of San Francesco). Alberti also designed the New Facade of Santa Maria Novella, Florence in 1456. In his architecture, he had the intention of using their symbolic content and associations to ennoble a modern building and give it the sense of having a Renaissance culture feel to almost all of the buildings he would construct. As one once said about Alberti s work, The result of the distinction is a new emphasis on building mass totally unlike, even alien to Brunelleschi s architecture at San Lorenzo that so carefully emphasized plane, space, and line. It is, however, related to the new interest in the quality and majesty of mass and the sculptural treatment of space at Santo Spirito. So yes, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Horse Trailers Before you haul a horse in your trailer for the first time, you need to make sure that everything is hooked up correctly and that your trailers is set up correctly for your horse. Here is a quick checklist for first time horse haulers to go over before getting on the road. Start With The Towing Vehicle Before you even hook up your horse trailer, you need to run a basic safety and maintenance check on the vehicle that you intend to tow the trailer with. Towing a horse trailer can put a lot of strain on a vehicle, which is why it is so important to make sure the vehicle you are towing with is in great shape. Make sure you check all the fluid levels, include the oil, antifreeze and windshield wiper fluid. Check each tire and make sure it is properly inflated to the manufacturers recommendation for your vehicle. If your check engine light or any other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before you hook up your trailer, get inside of your trailer and make sure that it is clean. Bees love to make nests inside of empty trailers and other insects and animals like to take advantage of the space as well. These types of intruders will scare your horses and could potentially harm your trailer, so be sure to clean it out before you move it. After you clean the inside of your horse trailer, it is time to inspect the outside of it. Just like with the towing vehicle, you ll want to check the tire pressure and make sure it is filled to the correct level suggested by the manufacturer of your trailer. After you check the tire pressure, you are going to want to get out a lug nut wrench and make sure that all the lug nuts are tight on the wheels of your trailer. The lug nuts on a horse trailer can easily become loose through typical wear and tear, so its a good idea to always check them before out take off and throughout any long distance trip. A plate is first covered with aluminum foil or silica etc. and has solutions of varying polarities placed upon the aluminum foil or silica. When placed in a in a puddle of solvent that moves up the plate, the different inks i.e. the solution will move up the place based on their Rf values. • 5. Chemical And Biological Properties Of Soil Pollution It is always difficult to remove contaminations from soils because it contains many toxic chemicals such as (Pb, As, Cu, Cd, Cr, Ni, Hg and Zn). This chemicals mixed with the soil after burning of industrial waste, electronics waste or uses of agricultural technology. Then rain water makes it seep deep into the soil and cause soil pollution. This makes it so difficult and time consuming to remove, particularly when the affected area is on a large scale. Soil is made of by two components which are organic and inorganic solid constituent, water and mixture of different gasses present in various proportions. The mineral component in the soil varies, according to the parent material which the soils had been developed due to the issue of different type of climate conditions. Also, soil can also be classified into three different properties, physical, chemical and biological properties. Physical properties of soil are being controlled by soil water movement, such as texture and soil structures. The soil moisture have high tendency in controlling solute movement, salt solubility, chemical reaction and microbiological activities and most importantly the bioavailability of metal ions. In this situation, a successful phytoremediation program must be considered as an alternative in the specific site. In the past lots of researchers have tried different method in order to mitigate or reclaim the heavy metals polluted soils, but so far phytoremediation is the best of all because it is ... PVD includes both the veins and the arteries. In PVD there is a problem with blood flow due to a narrowing of blood vessels which is occurring from a different pathology. The most common cause of PVD is atherosclerosis. Patients with PVD can range from asymptomatic to severe and require amputations (Giorgi 2015). Etiology Peripheral vascular disease is divided into subcategories of functional and organic. Functional PVD does not involve physical problems in the blood vessels. It causes incidental or short term symptoms. These are usually spasms that occur erratically. Organic PVD involves changes in blood vessel structure. This type of PVD causes inflammation, tissue damage, and blockages (Giorgi 2015). The number one leading cause of peripheral vascular disease is atherosclerosis. This is a gradual process in which a fatty material builds up inside the arteries (emedicinehealth 2015). He is aided by a band of Algonquin speaking people, numbering roughly 20 and a young Frenchman with aspirations of Priesthood in the motherland. According to his mother it is a land of backwards people with dangers around every corner which was certainly not the case. A point of contention between critics is the depiction of the horrible torture scenes which illustrates, one might conceive, the Aboriginals barbarism. In one of the opening scenes, a contingent of French workers joke about the various ways the Aboriginals torture Jesuit Priests and Frenchmen alike, not to mention other rival tribes. An example of this barbarism is illustrated when the survivors of the Iroquois attack go through beating lines to inevitably be tortured by having their fingers removed surgically with mussel shells. Although these actions are barbaric, they are no worse than the atrocities that arguably every ‘civilized nation during the time period committed. This being said, the film seems to make the Iroquois more barbaric than they actually were omitting the fact that they routinely practiced cannibalism. It is interesting to observe the camera work whereby in almost all the scenes the Jesuits occupy higher position than anyone else. This refers to the Jesuits standing over the Aboriginals ... • 19. Biography Of Giovanni Boccaccio s Magnum Opus The... There made its appearance that deadly pestilence, which, whether disseminated by the influences of the celestial bodies, or sent upon us mortals by God in His just wrath by way of retribution for our iniquities, had its origin some years before in the East, whence, after destroying an innumerable multitude of living beings, it had propagated itself without respite from place to place, and so, calamitously, had spread abroad into the West . These are the lines from Giovanni Boccaccio s magnum opus The Decameron , which consists of various tales narrated by seven young women and three young men seeking refuge in a secluded villa outside Florence to escape from one of the greatest catastrophies in human history. The Black Death . Miniature of the Decameron by Taddeo Crivelli from Ferrara (1467) INTRODUCTION: The most memorable example of what has been advanced, is afforded by agreat peatilence of fourteenth century, which desolated Asia, Europe and Africa and of which the people yet preserve the remembrance in gloomy traditions. It was an oriental plague marked by inflamatory boils and tumors of glands such as break out in no other febrile disease. On account of these inflammatory boils and from black spots, indicator of a putrid decomposition, which appeared upon the skin, it was called in Germany and northern kingdoms of Europe, the Black Death and in Italy, la Mortelaga Grande , the Great Mortality. • 20. Domestic Problems Of African Americans Abstract Living in the Southern parts of the United States since the end of the Civil War was not easy for people of color especially African Americans. Because of a great deal of economic uncertainty, it was gravely difficult to attain financial security as well as be treated as an equal instead of a piece a property which had been the case for over three hundred years. Nearly one fourth of all white Southerners owned slaves, and upon the backs of these slaves, the economic basis of America and much of the Atlantic world was constructed. In the several cotton states, one third of all white income was derived from slavery. By the end of the Civil War and the abolishment of slavery, White Americans began isolating the ex slaves. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... New political, social, and economic systems emerged that transformed the South from a rural, slave based society, to an increasingly urban, industrialized, free labor society. The changes to the social, political, and economic landscape of the South prompted an unprecedented era of racial violence throughout the region (Jett, p.40). The Southern states deemed slavery was crucial to safeguard white superiority. Most Southern whites who had aspirations of becoming a very prominent slave owner, were terrified of a society with considerable numbers of African Americans who were not slaves. Segregation moved by way of public accommodations, all the way through the South. DeFina Hannon (2011) and others showed daily interactions of whites and blacks in the South, during reconstruction of the south identified racial prejudices were increasing steadily, after the Civil War and especially during the 1880 s. Town after town across the south flatly banned African Americans within their city limits after dark. Legal, political, social and demographic changes in the south made lynching dysfunctional as a source of control. Among other more delicate control mechanisms, modern housing segregation helped serve as a replacement to brutal racial oppression or even death. It all started years ago, when the first humans Adam and Eve were on earth and were capable of communicating with one another. The Fall Of Dinosaurs By Dinosaurs Austin Thomas 4/26/2016 English 12 Ms. Hous The fall of Dinosaurs It is hard to imagine that millions of years ago, the Earth was not dominated by humans, but by Dinosaurs. These great Beast s, who were as big or bigger than cars, roamed the land. Some were giant killing machines, like the Tyrannosaurus Rex.Some are even alive today, while many people do not even notice. There have been countless theories as to how the dinosaurs became extinct. The dinosaurs ruled the land for millions of years, and it seems impossible that such magnificent creatures could have been taken off the earth. Dinosaurs were very adaptable to their environment and traversed the entire earth. They were even found on lands like Antarctica, and many different oceanic islands like north Island, New Zealand, and a island called Spitsbergen.(Creation.com/Oard) There have even been Dinosaur fossils found in northern Alaska next to the arctic Ocean.(Oard) These questions have perplexed researchers, and it has made them wonder if dinosaurs were Endotherms, Ectotherms, or some combination in between.(Oard) An example of this is a comment from researcher Michael Benton, Should we now imagine Dinosaurs as thermally insulated Warm Blooded animals that ploughed through the snowdrifts and scraped brush the ice off the ground to find food? .(Oard) For the past several years, Different dinosaur tracks have been discovered at over 1,500 locations from around the world.(Oard) The number of tracks are in the ... They were two epics that established the foundations of religion, literature, and all other standards that were followed by every category of people. Both texts entice the audience through antique language, and the stories of epic heroes and immortal gods. Sin Leqi Unninni and the many writers of the Bible use love as their central theme, yet it unfolds as having distinguishing effects on all characters throughout both texts. Gilgamesh goes on a journey challenging the gods of the underworld searching for his immortality and a chance to see Enkindu. At the start of the text Gilgamesh was empowered by the acts of raping the towns women and belittling men, nevertheless, Enkindu is the figure that actually contests Gilgamesh for his power. It is through Enkindu that he realizes how precious humanity can be. Whether it is a homosexual or brotherly love, Gilgamesh falls in love with the man in Enkindu that helps him transpire into a greater human being. This quote reveals the first time that Gilgamesh makes a sacrifice in the name of love. In The Epic of Gilgamesh, Leqi Unninni conveys through his writing that the account of Gilgamesh maturing is done through the act of love. In Genesis, Cain shows similar qualities to Enkindu. The focus of the article is how technology, more specifically television, can influence and affect the education of children. Postman elaborates on these topics by bringing in facts and examples, such as the educational television show Sesame Street , to support his claims. Postman begins his article discussing how parents have embraced the educational television show Sesame Street . The program would prove to justify children s overexposure to television as well as relieving parents of the responsibility of teaching their children how to read (1). Educational television shows such as Sesame Street can be effective in learning as long as viewership of the program is not excessive. An educational show of the sorts can create a strong basis for a task such as reading or learning the alphabet. The show would also help to better prepare a student on a topic before they learn the topic at hand in school. A problem only arises if one watches an excessive amount of educational television and just expects education in classrooms to be all entertainment as well. Teaching and entertainment do not have to be independent of each other as one can highlight or emphasis a point by using the other. As for electronic media in general, I do agree with Postman that it can be debatable when it comes to education, however, I also believe that it can also be very beneficial if done right. Whether it is a video or film an educator shows in class, the media can help to emphasize or elaborate on a point trying to be made. The media can act as an aid to students to help them develop a more well rounded understanding on a topic. I also disagree with one of Postman s three commandments as the second one, regarding perplexity, cannot be applied to all television shows. Postman states that a perplexed learner is a learner who will turn to another station. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to carry on this research I will explain the main features that make a text formal or informal depending on certain aspects. So as to complete this research I have required a collection of several letters, four exactly, in order to see the different features that each text presents; Using less number of texts would have been problematic because I would not have enough data to show clearly the differences. The Frogs Aristophanes The Frogs was first performed at the festival of Dionysus in 504BC, a year before the end of the Peloponnesian war, and was so well received it not only won the competition for comedy, but was also given an encore taking the form of a second performance in that same year. At the time of the plays performance Athens was run by an assembly of its citizens, in some ways comparable to a modern democracy, where any man who had completed two years of military service was able to vote. Politics therefore was an important part of Athenian life, with many young men studying the art of debating, something reflected in The Frogs by its many references and illusions to political figures. It is hard to doubt that in his play Aristophanes intended to educate or inform his audience, especially considering the plays many allusions to the advisory role of poets. As long as modern humans have roamed the earth, they have been upsetting the natural balance of the earth. People have did this by clearing areas of land, killing animals, polluting water, etc. Before the modern human , people like the Native Americans cared for the earth. They respected the land and the people that cared for it. Unfortunately, people don t care anymore. Until recently, people did not care for the earth. People did not realize the harm they were causing it. Now we know how detrimental things are that we continue to do and used to do. We are slowly destroying our climate and environment.
