This document provides an overview of eukaryotic cell structure and organelles. Eukaryotic cells contain a nucleus and membrane-bound organelles, unlike prokaryotic cells. The organelles each have specific functions like the cytoskeleton providing structure, mitochondria generating energy, and the Golgi complex packaging and transporting materials within the cell. Plant cells contain chloroplasts for photosynthesis and a cell wall and central vacuole in addition to these common eukaryotic organellar structures and functions.
