4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
My target audience is both males and females aged between 16-21 interested in the rock/indie genre. My target audience is mainly working class as many working class youth are interested in the rock/indie genre but also some middle class people. They will not be particularly interested in any religion and if any it will be Christian due to Christian rockers interested in Christian rock bands such as ‘Skillet’. My magazines audience will be aspirers who wish to one day be a successful musician themselves and are most likely to be radical non conformists not wanting to conform to dominate ideology of today's society and wanting to stand out from the crowd with their own sense of style and also hedonists who simply want to enjoy life and live for the now making them irresponsible. He/she is most likely to be a student at either college or uni, they are likely to dress in skinny jeans and band t-shirts and wear converse, typical weekends will be hanging out with their mates, doing things such as playing on a games console, listening to typical rock/indie bands e.g ‘The Wombats’ or ‘A Day To Remember’, ordering food such as pizza and perhaps doing band practice as he/she is likely to be in a band themselves. Hobbies would be things such as, attending gigs to see bands such as ‘Paramore’, ‘Enter Shikari’ and ‘Let Live’. They will constantly be listening to their I-pod which will contain not only commercialised bands such as ‘You Me At Six’ but also newer less established bands. Free time will be spent on the internet on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, looking up gig information, checking out and downloading new music online and buying clothing online from websites such as loudclothing.com
