Summary Of The First Ice Skates
In the article The First Ice Skates Helped People Travel in the Winter by Smithsonian.com, adapted by
Newsela staff, the main idea is the evolution of ice skates. For example, in the section New And
Improved Smithsonian.com states, Today s skates are four times faster than the original bone skates.
Still, bone skates served people well for thousands of years. By saying this, Smithsonian is explaining
how one way the skates have evolved, they are now faster. Another example of how ice skated
changed over the years, is in the introduction, The ice skate dates back at least 3,000 years, to the
Bronze Age. Back then, people in eastern Europe and Russia built skates out of animal bones. Their
skates let them glide in very different ways than

College Education Gap Analysis
Since the beginning of American history, there has always been a gap in achievement between the
Black and minority community versus their counterparts, the Whites. The difference between the two
groups was that of opportunities. Minorities in the United States were initially deprived of all chances
at prosperity, and Whites were born into a societal prosperity; an idea that Beverly Tatum calls White
Privilege. While it is important to acknowledge that the educational gap between African American
and White students has diminished in regards to college enrollment, it is important to evaluate the
differences between what affects certain races in attendance and completion of college. The factors
that will be considered are family dynamics, finances, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously, a low socioeconomic status is more closely tied to that of a minority. In Susan Dynarski s
experiment, the findings indicate that low socioeconomic African American students have less contact
with faculty, study less, are less involved with student organizations, work more, and have lower
grades than do their high SES peers or all African American students. Does a student s socioeconomic
status correlate with the relationships they share with their professors and peers with higher
socioeconomic statuses? Furthermore, 9 years after entering college, low SES students report lower
incomes, lower rates of degree attainment and lower aspirations than their high SES peers, and were
less likely to have attended graduate school. Logistic Regression results indicate that sex, college GPA

who had a low socioeconomic status expressed feelings of disconnect from the students in their
chosen institution, especially if it was a predominately white institution (PWI); they ve felt as though
they could not relate to the people around them. This factor could contribute to a feeling of not
belonging, which proves to be very strong in a student s decision to stay in

The student I observed is a fifth grade student in an ICT classroom. For the purposes of this report, we
will call this student Dave(a pseudonym). Dave is 10.5 years old. He is a student in the after school
program in which I am the director of. I have known him since the summer of 2015. We solved the
problem in my office during after school. When I asked Dave how he felt about math, he told me: I
feel like math is very fun, once you get used to it. When I asked him about specifically about problem
solving, he told me You have to think about problem solving like a game! Like in division, you have
to destroy creatures and figure out how to put the creatures in equal groups . I gave Dave the problem
of Legs and Heads . Dave specifically told me he wanted to learn algebra, so I figured he would
appreciate the challenge of this problem. Before we started solving the problem, I asked Dave a few
questions about the problem. I asked him what the problem was trying to figure out. Dave told me
This problem is trying to figure out how many cows and how many chickens Then I asked him what
knowledge did he have to know about cows and chickens to solve this problem. Dave answered That
cows have 4 legs and chickens have 2. They both have one head. In addition to what the problem is
asking, Dave also needed to have pre algebraic thinking, division skills, multiplication, the law of
conservation and basic addition and subtraction skills. Then we began to work on the problem.

Earth Over people
Santa cruz is a place where the earth has a very big part of its culture, that affects the people in a very
big way. The earth affects Santa Cruz with its very good waves, Santa Cruz has its very own redwood
forests that are very popular to adventure through, and Santa Cruz has an almost perfect climate. The
earth in Santa Cruz is what makes Santa Cruz its very own unique city.

The redwoods are a huge attraction On Monday, holiday hikers clambered over a slick log jam in
Aptos Creek to pay their respects to the 260 foot goliath, which lay broken into several monumental

This was my favorite tree. I used to come here all the time, said Eric (Masters) and another quote In
life, naturalist and California State Parks docent Scott Peden found peace and purpose amid the

redwoods in Santa Cruz are a big deal and the residents are affected and carer about these trees. Lastly,
the climate in Santa Cruz has affected the people very much. The Climate is usually very mild.
According to weather.com the coldest it has been this year for the high was 50, and the hottest high for
the year is 104. Another quote suggests from US Climate Data the average temperature in Santa Cruz

Irony In The Summoner s
Chaucer carefully shows us the Summoner, quaking with anger, after hearing the Friar s Tale, and
those pious readers who might have thought that the Friar s Tale veered close to the line of
blasphemous sin would likely have been straight out offended by the Summoner s. It is a bilious,
aggressive tale which does not even consider pulling its punches, and the Friar s contempt is roundly
quyt with a full on, unrelenting attack from the Summoner. Anality is a key ingredient in the tale,
potentially a reference to the possible interpretation of the General Prologue which argues that the
Summoner and Pardoner are engaged in a homosexual relationship. Regardless of whether this
reading is accepted, the prologue begins with a journey into the devil s arse, and the tale finds its
resolution with the division of a fart, first from Thomas arse, and then from the friar s. This journey
from arse to arse is only one of several ways in which the Summoner s Tale mechanically closes in on
itself, in precisely the way that the friar within it manages to bring about his own humiliation. There is
a neat irony in the way that the friar, after a lengthy lecture about anger management and doing away
with ire (anger) then becomes absolutely furious, looking as if he were a wilde boor . The structure of
the tale has a quitting like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the end of the tale, the division of the fart is a challenge, the lord remarks, in ars metrike in the art
of measurement, but, as Seth Lerer, points out, a challenge too in the metrics of the arse. Moreover,
Jankin s vision of the friars gathered at the spokes of a huge wheel is actually a parody of the
Pentecost: the day where the twelve apostles receive the Holy Spirit as Christ ascends to heaven. It is,
one might suggest, a reworking of religion entirely appropriate to the piety of the friar (and even the
Summoner!) in

Strategic Plan For EHR
When implementing a new EHR, departments need to have a plan in place when the system causes
change to the process and design within the organization. Often times, regulations and policies need to
be changed to coincide with a new system in place, such as a new EHR program (University of
Scranton, 2017). A way to mitigate this situation is to start at the federal level s regulations and work
down the scope from there. This will guarantee that mandatory rules are still being followed and there
is successful transition into future policies. Additionally, funding will be crucial to the organization s
ability to have a new EHR system. Each department needs to ensure they are properly tracking funds
and that they can afford to upgrade. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By using the procurement process, the administrator can ensure they are making the right decisions on
goods and services at the right price (Purchase Control, 2017). When an administrator is required to
follow specific policies and guidelines, the steps in the process need to entertain the best EHR system
vendor without causing any delays with implementation of the new program. There are 7 steps to the
procurement process, beginning with identifying the need to purchase the goods and services. During
step one, the administrator would supply potential vendors with a request for proposal (RFP). The RFP
is a bidding technique used by the identity requesting the procurement for the vendor s business. By
doing this, the administrator has made it known that they have finances available for the EHR system
they are looking into (Wikipedia, 2017). The second step in the process is exploring possible vendors.
During this step the administrator is using the request for information (RFI) to investigate the ability
of the vendor to follow through with the needs of the EHR system they are supplying. The RFI is used
to receive hard copy information about the vendors and their supplies. The format allows the
administrator to compare multiple suppliers (Wikipedia, 2017). At this point, the administrator would
supply possible vendors with a request for quotation (RFQ)

The Current State Of Art
Abstract
Over the last couple of years, the internet of things (IoT) has drawn a lot of attention from both
academia s and industries. The internet of things is often interchanged with the internet of everything.
Presently, several devices can be connected at the same time, it is hoped that in the nearest future,
billions of devices can be connected multifariously and will hopefully extend beyond the margins of
physical components. This research will present the current state of art in research on the internet of
things by reviewing related literature, ascertaining and describing current trends, current challenges,

Performance Appraisal In The Army
Performance appraisal is one of the most intricate and imperative issues that we do in the Army. So we
need current quarterly statement on each soldier. Then on enlisted personnel we need it to be done
more often and evaluate there performance by having face to face evaluations weather is good or bad.
Organizations in both the public and private sectors like the government we tend to be a bit relax and
get them done at the last minute due to all the demands that are place on us.
Trust is the willingness to be vulnerable to another party. In The Leadership

Monetary PA is wonderful but not all should be in this case for loyalty work.
Performance appraisal, when properly carried out, can help to fine tune and reward the performance of
present employees. We all know our strengths and weakness of any negotiated performance appraisal
are its ability to promote candid two way communication between the supervisor and the employee
person being appraised.
Why Performance Appraisal?
Strengths are then negotiated from employee and employer for the PA with the ability to promote a
two way communication among them and have the employee take more responsibility for improving
performance.

Summary Of The Love Of God And Affliction By Simone Weil
The political activist and mystic Simone Weil saw mysticism as deeply engaged in the real world and
not in the private domain. Despite having great insight into Christian mysticism Simone Weil was
never baptized. After her death, her various letters and essays were comprised and formed the book
which is entitled Waiting for God. In the essay The Love of God and Affliction, Weil believes people
can find God in the affliction which she defines as a physical suffering and an uprooting of life that
results in social degradation of the fear of it in some form or another . (67 68) Generally speaking,
affliction is a type of severe suffering that a person can experience that is so extreme that people tend

One may scoff at the idea, but in the end, the experiences of being in the real world will reveal God.
According to Weil, Affliction makes God appear to be absent for a time, more absent than a dead man,
more absent than light in the utter darkness of a cell. ... Then, one day, God will come to show himself
to the soul and to reveal the beauty of the world to it... (70) It is difficult for the person experiencing
affliction and the person submitting themselves to be around affliction to see God in their life.
Affliction is not just any kind of suffering; it is one of the greatest and most horrid sufferings that a
person could possibly experience. Thus, it is easy to lose sight of God being around affliction since
there seems to be no light in the world. However, with time, surrounding yourself with people going
through affliction, God will reveal yourself to you and you will understand and see the true beauty of
the world. This is an interesting notion since it saying through the most horrid suffering, you will
realize the true beauty of life. This is how Simone Weil found mystical experiences as being deeply
engaged in the world and how she truly connected with

Announcing Remedies
DEFINITION OF FINE
A fine or mulct is money that a court of law or other authority decides has to be paid as punishment
for a crime or other offence. The amount of a fine can be determined case by case, but it is often
announced in advance.( Bray, Samuel (2012). Announcing Remedies . Cornell Law Review. 97. SSRN
1967184)
Currently in English common law, relatively small fines are used either in place of or alongside
community service orders for low level criminal offences. Larger fines are also given independently or
alongside shorter prison sentences when the judge or magistrate considers a considerable amount of
retribution is necessary, but there is unlikely to be significant danger to the public.[ Alabama Criminal

Sigmund Freud And The Interpretation Of Dreams
Before the chaos of the first worldwide conflict, the Great War, psychologists were looking deeper
into the human mind trying to find the hidden meaning of dreams. Deeper meaning began to creep its
way into both literature and art with both types of creators trying to convey meaning that is more than
meets the eye in their works. Symbolism became a popular movement with the increased interest in
psychology by those such as the famous psychologist, Sigmund Freud. This interest continued to raise
through the years following the Great War especially in the country most blamed for the war,
Germany. This blame and instability of the country fueled the expressionist movement making the
work created during this time emotional and cynical towards their situation. Through these events and
advancements in psychology works such as The Apparition by Gustave Moreau and The Scream by
Edvard Munch were created.
Sigmund Freud is well known for his interest in the human mind. In Freud s novel The Interpretation
of Dreams, published in 1913, explores the deeper meaning behind everyday life. His book explores
various meanings of common types of dreams, theories on how dreams relate to everyday life, and
two types of dreams: wish fulfilment dreams and distortion dreams. These types of dreams are simply
put good dreams vs nightmares. Sigmund Freud believed dreams were caused by a person s
experiences in waking life, fears, wishes, their unconscious and consciousness. Sigmund Freud

Sarah Kane Crave Analyse
My over arching idea for my production of Crave is that I want to give the play some context while
also maintaining the theme that these characters could represent anyone. The reason I want to give the
play some background is because on my first read of the play, before I read the Saunders article in
which Sarah Kane talks about the relationships between C and A, and B and M, a lot of the themes of
the play were lost on me because I was so focused on trying to figure out what was going on. I know
Sarah Kane didn t want the characters to get stuck in specific categories, but by establishing
relationships between the characters I think the audience will be able to focus more on what the
characters are saying and less on trying to discern what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I don t want the rest of the stage to be dark though, as that would isolate the characters when I want
them to talk to each other, so the rest of the stage is slightly dimmer then the spots. The tone and color
of the fill lights changes slightly throughout the show, following the color changes of the cyclorama.
The cyc is my central design element for the show. When I read Crave, it seemed to me that the play
was divided into different emotional sections, and I want to use the cyc to reflect that. When the lights
come up after the characters enter, I want the cyc to be a medium dark purple, which I think helps give
the feeling that the play is taking place in the city, which is what I gathered from the dialogue. The
purple should be dark enough that it gives the audience a sense of unease, as each of the characters
relate depressing tales and talk heatedly with one another. When A begins his speech, I want the cyc to
fade into a bright amber that assaults the audience s eyes when it first appears. This symbolizes how
upon first glance, A s speech appears happy and innocent, which the color yellow is associated with,
but that yellow is tainted with something darker and sinister, making it amber. Then, when C mentions
being raped, I want the cyc to fade to a scarlet red, because this I think this marked the transition to the
most violent part of the play. Then when C says, No one can hate me more than myself , I want the
cyc to start transitioning to a medium blue. As the play continues, I want that blue to get continually
darker, symbolizing the characters sinking into despair. When B says Kill me , I want the cyc and all
of the lights to fade away, implying that the characters have passed away. Then for the last few lines of
the play, I want just the cyc to light up bright white, so you can only see the actors silhouettes. I want
the audience

Douglas Rushkoff Time Ain T Money Analysis
Throughout the manifesto, Time Ain t Money , by Douglas Rushkoff, deliberately creates a persona
that is straightforward to address the views of CEO s, and how they run their companies. Rushkoff
designed this essay with specific sections intentional written in a certain order to communicate his
message clearly. Throughout these ideas Rushkoff creates a key term to further express his idea. In the
essay, Rushkoff uses a word, presentism , which he made up to describe the process of how, society is
focused on the now over the past, and even the future (Rushkoff 114). In the essay, Time Ain t Money

Stocks and trades also come into play with the idea of presentism, in how the investors in society are
focused on the quick and fast trades versus investments and waiting for a profit. They whined when a
purchase of Facebook share in the first few minutes if the company s IPO didn t return a profit over
the next hour (Rushkoff 115). Rushkoff has noticed how our society has become increasingly
impatient which is a drastic change from 10 or 20 years ago. Customers want their packages as soon
as possible, it s no longer acceptable to wait it has to be done now. Again Rushkoff talks about time in
our culture, Rushkoff claims, Without time, without any history, how do you tell a story with a
beginning, a middle, and an end? (Rushkoff 115). Without time stories don t exist, there is no past or
future, just right now. In today s culture presentism dictates how we do anything, we can personalized

Negligence And Its Impact On Society
Negligence is a tort that is a major focus point in how people and organizations interact with each
other. How the tort of negligence developed is critical for understanding who is held accountable
when a civil wrong has occurred. Negligence focuses on three basic elements: a duty of care, a breach
of said duty, and causation of damage. The goal of this assessment is to examine the development of
these three elements of negligence tort law in England, and hopefully explain its significance in how it
affects society. First, a duty of care must be established for a legitimate negligence claim. The concept
of a duty of care is that it demonstrates the defendant (the one wrongdoer) had some sort of
responsibility to take care of the claimant (the wronged party who is bringing forth the claim). In
English law, the landmark case that conceived the idea of establishing a duty of care was Donoghue v
Stevenson (1932 UKHL 100), a case involving a woman who drank a bottle of ginger beer and found
a dead snail in the bottle, thus bringing suit against the manufacturer. The House of Lords ruled in the
claimant s favor, stating the manufacturer does owe a duty of care to the consumer. Arguably the most
integral part of the ruling in Donoghue is where Lord Atkin states:
You must take reasonable care to avoid acts or omissions which you can reasonably foresee would be
likely to injure your neighbor. Who, then, in law is my neighbor? The answer seems to be persons who

Strawberry Fields by Miriam Wells
There has been a long standing debate between the socio economic theories of capitalism and
socialism. The current socio economic system is capitalism but many feel it is not ideal due to the fact
that it is based on making a profit. On the other hand, socialism is based on equality of all, which is
enacted by paying all workers the same amount of money regardless of occupation. Miriam J. Wells is
against capitalism and holds a socialist view point. According to Wells, politics shape the advantages
and disadvantages that certain groups of people hold. The government plays an immense role on how
things are structured in the fields in order to make a profit based on capitalism. Wells argument of
capitalism being an unjust system due to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wells tries to prove here that not only does the government think about profits but they also think
about who has the power in the agri business. America is usually thought of as the land of equal
opportunity for all , but in fact the government does not provide equal economic opportunities.
Instead, the government helps big business owners exploit their immigrant employees.
Furthermore, Well s argument also shows how even in a capitalist society a system such as
sharecropping can exist and bring with it better class relations that benefit growers and workers. One
reason for the return of sharecropping was due to labor shortages caused by the termination of the
Bracero program. Growers decided to divide their farms into smaller groups which are headed by a
husband and wife; they supervised a couple of workers who were family members or friends. This
enhanced personal connections as personal relationships played a role in order to get a profit out of the
farm allocated. By working alongside family and friends, there was a motivation to perform. Due to
the personal work relations, there was no need of employers/employees. The sharecroppers did not
believe they were superior to their fellow laborers. This shows that even though there is a capitalist
society there was a sense of community. These people are not only thinking about individual profits
but also the profit for their family and friends. This also leads to there being no labor resistance.

The Portrait Statue Augustus Of Prima Porta, Cleopatra
Portraiture is an old art form that dates back to ancient Egypt where it gained popularity five thousand
years before. A portrait is a sculpture, painting, drawing, or engraving of a person that usually only
depicts the head or head and shoulders. Before photography was invented a sculptured, painted, or
drawn portrait was the most common way to document someones appearance. Besides recording a

Athenos Hummus
Kraft Athenos Hummus:
Marketing through sports
Executive Summary
Hummus is already a popular choice among endurance athletes. Competition among brands within
this portion of the target market is important and therefore, should become a focus of the Athenos
brand. Athenos has not yet utilized sports marketing to promote the brand, but with a focus on the
hummus products, a sports overlay can be very effective to target key consumers. Athenos currently
falls behind Sabra as the market leader in hummus and because neither brand currently markets their
products through sports, this is a vital opportunity for Athenos to increase their market share and gain
popularity among consumers.
Target Market
Hummus is a healthy snack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Athenos is sold in the refrigeration section of most major local grocery stores placed alongside other
snack dips and spreads. Athenos should continue to distribute to major grocery store chains as
hummus is popular as a convenient healthy snack purchase. Athenos is marketed through individual
retail sales by way of wholesale to grocery chains rather than through large quantity sales to
restaurants where the need is not as high. Outside of major grocery store chains, Athenos should seek
to sell their hummus products at selected sports venues specific to endurance sports in order to gain
sales within the market.
Promotion
Promotion is perhaps the easiest variable to use in an effort to develop a sports overlay for the
implementation of a mainstream strategy. (Fullerton, 2010). Athenos has most recently used the Yia
Yia (greek for grandmother) campaign developed by Droga5. Yiayia represents old world Greece,
Greek values, and most importantly she represents preparing food the right way. (Droga5, 2011). Most
importantly her approval is a sign of quality and she approves of Athenos hummus. The campaign was
effective but Athenos still continues to struggle and remains behind the market leader, Sabra.
Eating clean is an especially important concept for endurance athletes, who also fall into the

Abstract Art, Character Design, And Pencil Tests
For my case study the three pieces of artwork that I ll be talking about revolve around animation, as
that is my field of study. The artwork I chose will range from concept art, character design, and pencil
tests. First let s take a look at Hayao Miyazaki s concept art for one of his movies known as Spirited
Away, which was released in the United States in 2002. The movie appears to be satire, but that isn t
my purpose. I have five young female friends who are about the same age as Hiiragi san*, and I spend
every summer with them at my mountain cabin. I wanted to make a movie they could enjoy. That is
why I started this film, and that is my true purpose (Shoten). Those were the words of Miyazaki,
translated by Ryoko Toyama, showing that this image and the movie s purpose in general was to
provide entertainment. The intended audience for all Studio Ghibli films is family, and especially
children. Miyazaki s goal from his art is to make movies that everyone can enjoy, as stated above.
Getting back to this specific image, it is most likely a mixed media of watercolor, acrylic paint, and
probably edited with a computer, as it is a final background that was used in the movie. Immediately
you can see balance within this piece. While both sides are not exactly symmetrical it gives off that
implication by having both sides very similar if you were to split the image down the middle,
especially the train that almost appears that way on it s own. It also has a nice sense of

U.s. Department Of Veterans
No military in the history of the world has been more widely deployed than the United States. The
United States currently has troops stationed in 150 countries, and each year thousands of American
citizens are sent abroad for active duty. However, the mental health of veterans are not taken into
consideration when they return home. Many have been exposed to prolonged periods of combat
related stress or traumatic events that can lead to severe disorders, such as post traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD), depression, and traumatic brain injury (TBI) which can plague veterans for the rest
of their lives. Groups such as the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America are advocating for change
due to the high suicide rates of veterans who are not receiving adequate help for their conditions. It is
estimated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that 22 veterans commit suicide every day
after a long struggle with the physical and mental tolls of war. However, the U.S. Department of
Veterans Affairs has been insufficiently handling with the current numbers of veterans with mental
health conditions which is a key element of this issue. To deal with this problem, President Obama
signed a bill this past March to allow greater access of mental health care for veterans. The bill is
aimed at suicide prevention by simplifying the health care process, as well as by collaborating with
nonprofit mental health organizations to effectively reach the public. Psychiatry students are also

Deal recommends that you should prep yourself and the kids for dating. The family should conquer
fears of what they have. Adult fears can consist of losing kid connection, causing kid pain, not
blending, choosing a mate poorly, ex spouse fear, fearing spiritual judgment. The person should rate
their fear between 1 10. Single parents should pray to God and ask him to help you overcome your
fears and help you have successful dating relationship. Parents should commit to each other fully to
love one another. Help children overcome their fears by telling them that you will always love them
no matter what. Children are very smart and they want to know what is going on. Have conversations

Relativity Of Truth In Life Of Pi
Life of Pi: The Relativity of Truth
The relativity of truth refers to truth relativism, which is the doctrine that there are no absolute truths.
The truth is always relative to some particular frame of reference. An example of truth relativism is
the The Dress trend which went viral because viewers disagreed over whether the colors of the dress
were black and blue or gold and white. Because of how a human perceives the color, it could be either
of these colors based on how a person sees it. The relativity of truth in the Life of Pi includes and
refers to the Blind Frenchman , the algae island, and which story Pi told the interviewers was true.
To begin, when Pi went blind in chapter 90 and practically gave up on surviving, he heard a voice. It s
astonishing what you hear when you re alone in the blackness of your dying mind. (Martel, Pg 242).
To people, this could refer to Pi hearing an actual person or it could just be a figment of his
imagination. Misery loves company, and madness calls it forth. (Martel, Pg 242). This adds to the
theory that the voice Pi heard was just a figment of his imagination. Further on in the novel, Pi meets
and speaks to the Blind Frenchman after figuring out that it wasn t Richard Parker he was talking to.
Later on, Richard Parker killed the Frenchman and Pi explored his boat, finding out that the
Frenchman had lied to him about having food. What doesn t add up is that Pi regained his eyesight
two days after the Frenchman s murder and when he went to check out the dead man s boat, he was
still blind. This could mean that Pi didn t actually go on the Frenchman s boat but was actually
exploring his boat and that the man was a figment of his imagination to suppress the loneliness Pi was
feeling.
Furthermore, in chapter 92, Pi discovers an algae island with food to eat and land to settle on. Pi stated
...that the island was not an island in the conventional sense of the term that is, a small landmass
rooted to the floor of the ocean but was rather a free floating organism... (Martel, Pg 271 272). One
could assume that this wasn t an actual island, but something that Pi made up to add depth to the story
he was telling or this was an island that has never been

Narrative Essay On A Carnival Dream
The memorable mornings of waking up on a rocking ship in the vast ocean cannot be properly
described without experiencing it first. When I look off the balcony of our ship and see rolling waves
of deep blue water, I imagine the strange and wonderful creatures of the ocean. The miles and miles
straight down into the abyss can only be imagined, yet can never be understood or fathomed by the
mind. While the ocean is incredible, so many other things are happening around you on the cruise
ship. My family has made so many unimaginable memories on our superb vacations. While the
thought of being in the middle of the ocean and going to foreign countries excited me, I was nervous
at the same time. The summer of 2015 changed my life. My family journeyed to New Orleans amid
the horribly humid summer heat. My parents, my brother, and I had never been on a cruise before, but
we had heard so many great things and were expecting just that. We arrived the night before the cruise
and had previously decided to spend the night in New Orleans. We did not want to risk being late and
missing our awaited trip. The next morning we drove the streets of New Orleans and discovered the
port where we would soon board the boat. We were finally ready to board the expansive Carnival
Dream! After working our way through lengthy health forms, metal detectors, and other forms of
security, we claimed our spot on the ship at the buffet. Before we knew it, we were tossing the ropes
from the port and heading

Climate Change Policy In Canada Essay
Climate policy in Canada is primarily implemented through information, persuasion and voluntary
action programs. Canadian policymakers have generally been reluctant to use instruments that put an
explicit price on emissions (i.e. tax). This type of attitude towards climate policy stems from the fear
of having a negative impact on their overall economic performance and competitiveness of the
Canadian industry (Bohringer and Rutherford, 2010). However simply using soft measures such as
voluntary programs does not prevent increases of GHG emissions. All in all, the Harper government
had been very clear that it had no intention of imposing the types of policies required by the Kyoto
Protocol, which officially lead to Canada withdrawing from the agreement.
Climate Change Policies under Harper Government This section will examine the Harper government
s approach to climate change, and later contrast it to the current Trudeau government s approach.
Despite the fact that the current Trudeau government has only been in power for a short amount of
time, we can still identify various differences in their approach to tackling the climate change issue.
This comparison will essentially demonstrate the fact that a political change in government can
sometimes result in a policy issue to be placed on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Rhetorical Analysis Of John F. Kennedy s Adgural Address
John F. Kennedy s inaugural address was a carefully composed speech, that conveyed the primary
goals of the incoming president in a convincing way. It is important for the president to have a strong
inaugural address, because it informs the people of one s intentions as president. In order for President
Kennedy s address to be effective, he uses rhetorical strategies. Through the use of rhetorical
strategies, President Kennedy supports his objectives with reason and logic to appeal to the people s
desire for security and structure. He also alludes to his good character to make the people feel safe and
trust him to guide them. In the address, President Kennedy uses emotion to make a connection with
the people, this makes him seem more relatable and connected to the people. These are strategies used
in an attempt to persuade the audience to trust President Kennedy. In President Kennedy s inaugural
address, he convincingly conveys his message to his audience, through the use of rhetorical devices.
The use of anaphoras allow President Kennedy to stress his message by repeating a word at the
beginning of successive clauses. This helps to emphasize his point to the audience. For example,
President Kennedy uses an anaphora to express the importance of bringing both sides together, and
having them work together for the benefit of the country and its citizens. Let both sides explore what
problems unite us instead of belaboring those problems which divide us. Let both sides, for the first
time, formulate serious and precise proposals for the inspection and control of arms and bring the
absolute power to destroy other nations under the absolute control of all nations. Let both sides seek to
invoke the wonders of science instead of its terrors (Address). Kennedy also starts a series of
paragraphs with To those. This allows Kennedy to personally address the people he will be working
with during his presidency, by making specific promises to them. It helps to create a personal bond
with citizens, and other countries. This is important because if people trust the President, the President
will be more likely to achieve his goals. As well as anaphoras, President Kennedy uses hyperphoria to
gain the trust

Chipotle Case Study Essay
Part 3
Chipotle s first store opened in 1993, and since then has grown to more than 900 stores in the United
States. However, Chipotle s experimentation in international markets has evolved slowly. In 2008,
Chipotle opened its first restaurant outside of the US, in Toronto, Canada. In 2010, a second restaurant
opened in Toronto and in 2012, a third in Vancouver. Chipotle has also expanded to Europe, with its
first European restaurant opening in 2010 in London of the United Kingdom. As of today, seven
restaurants have opened in the London area. Chipotle blames the slow growth in the United Kingdom
on British unfamiliarity with Mexican food. However, several locally owned burrito chains have

As recently as last year Chipotle was the victim of a pork shortage. In January of 2015, it cut ties with
a supplier that violated its standards, which ban the use of hormones or antibiotics that require pigs to
have access to the outdoors and to deeply bedded barns. After dropping the supplier, Chipotle had a
tough time finding a replacement. As a result, hundreds of restaurants were unable to sell carnitas, a
popular menu item. If Chipotle expands even more internationally, it could continue to run into this
problem, and it could expand to other ingredients. In order to meet the demand, Chipotle looks for
many of its ingredients outside of the United States. For example, in order to back their commitment
to source 100 percent grass fed cows, Chipotle has started to source beef from Australia. The
organization s reasoning behind this decision is that not enough farmers based in the US follow a truly
organic protocol. Too many farmers raising cattle in the US are using hormones and antibiotics. In
contrast, Australian raised cows spend their entire lives in pastures, eating grass or forages, such as

in Santa Cruz, California. Her mother is an elementary school teacher and her father is a project
manager for a large corporation overseas. On the surface she is like most young and modern women:
she takes school seriously, she has dreams and goals for the future that she is determined to make
happen, and she don t expect anyone to do the hard work for her. The following writing will describe
how Erin became the individual she is today. Key Moments There were four key moments that took
great influence on Erin s life. The first was her parent s divorce that occurred when she was practically

hundreds of Australian came to Papua New Guinea, the Promised Land, to search for gold. It was
similar to the Gold Rush in the United States. The absence of law led to the system of staking claims.
(Papua New Guinea Mine Watch, 2012) Australian miners claimed the ownership of gold and gained

  • 4. Summary Of The First Ice Skates In the article The First Ice Skates Helped People Travel in the Winter by Smithsonian.com, adapted by Newsela staff, the main idea is the evolution of ice skates. For example, in the section New And Improved Smithsonian.com states, Today s skates are four times faster than the original bone skates. Still, bone skates served people well for thousands of years. By saying this, Smithsonian is explaining how one way the skates have evolved, they are now faster. Another example of how ice skated changed over the years, is in the introduction, The ice skate dates back at least 3,000 years, to the Bronze Age. • 5. College Education Gap Analysis Since the beginning of American history, there has always been a gap in achievement between the Black and minority community versus their counterparts, the Whites. The difference between the two groups was that of opportunities. Minorities in the United States were initially deprived of all chances at prosperity, and Whites were born into a societal prosperity; an idea that Beverly Tatum calls White Privilege. While it is important to acknowledge that the educational gap between African American and White students has diminished in regards to college enrollment, it is important to evaluate the differences between what affects certain races in attendance and completion of college. The factors that will be considered are family dynamics, finances, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Obviously, a low socioeconomic status is more closely tied to that of a minority. In Susan Dynarski s experiment, the findings indicate that low socioeconomic African American students have less contact with faculty, study less, are less involved with student organizations, work more, and have lower grades than do their high SES peers or all African American students. Does a student s socioeconomic status correlate with the relationships they share with their professors and peers with higher socioeconomic statuses? Furthermore, 9 years after entering college, low SES students report lower incomes, lower rates of degree attainment and lower aspirations than their high SES peers, and were less likely to have attended graduate school. Logistic Regression results indicate that sex, college GPA (Walpole 1). From my experience, students who ve graduated from my (majority black) high school who had a low socioeconomic status expressed feelings of disconnect from the students in their chosen institution, especially if it was a predominately white institution (PWI); they ve felt as though they could not relate to the people around them. This factor could contribute to a feeling of not belonging, which proves to be very strong in a student s decision to stay in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the purposes of this report, we will call this student Dave(a pseudonym). Dave is 10.5 years old. He is a student in the after school program in which I am the director of. I have known him since the summer of 2015. We solved the problem in my office during after school. When I asked Dave how he felt about math, he told me: I feel like math is very fun, once you get used to it. When I asked him about specifically about problem solving, he told me You have to think about problem solving like a game! Like in division, you have to destroy creatures and figure out how to put the creatures in equal groups . I gave Dave the problem of Legs and Heads . Dave specifically told me he wanted to learn algebra, so I figured he would appreciate the challenge of this problem. Before we started solving the problem, I asked Dave a few questions about the problem. I asked him what the problem was trying to figure out. Dave told me This problem is trying to figure out how many cows and how many chickens Then I asked him what knowledge did he have to know about cows and chickens to solve this problem. Dave answered That cows have 4 legs and chickens have 2. They both have one head. In addition to what the problem is asking, Dave also needed to have pre algebraic thinking, division skills, multiplication, the law of conservation and basic addition and subtraction skills. Then we began to work on the problem. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Irony In The Summoner s Chaucer carefully shows us the Summoner, quaking with anger, after hearing the Friar s Tale, and those pious readers who might have thought that the Friar s Tale veered close to the line of blasphemous sin would likely have been straight out offended by the Summoner s. It is a bilious, aggressive tale which does not even consider pulling its punches, and the Friar s contempt is roundly quyt with a full on, unrelenting attack from the Summoner. Anality is a key ingredient in the tale, potentially a reference to the possible interpretation of the General Prologue which argues that the Summoner and Pardoner are engaged in a homosexual relationship. Regardless of whether this reading is accepted, the prologue begins with a journey into the devil s arse, and the tale finds its resolution with the division of a fart, first from Thomas arse, and then from the friar s. This journey from arse to arse is only one of several ways in which the Summoner s Tale mechanically closes in on itself, in precisely the way that the friar within it manages to bring about his own humiliation. There is a neat irony in the way that the friar, after a lengthy lecture about anger management and doing away with ire (anger) then becomes absolutely furious, looking as if he were a wilde boor . The structure of the tale has a quitting like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the end of the tale, the division of the fart is a challenge, the lord remarks, in ars metrike in the art of measurement, but, as Seth Lerer, points out, a challenge too in the metrics of the arse. Moreover, Jankin s vision of the friars gathered at the spokes of a huge wheel is actually a parody of the Pentecost: the day where the twelve apostles receive the Holy Spirit as Christ ascends to heaven. It is, one might suggest, a reworking of religion entirely appropriate to the piety of the friar (and even the Summoner!) in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Strategic Plan For EHR When implementing a new EHR, departments need to have a plan in place when the system causes change to the process and design within the organization. Often times, regulations and policies need to be changed to coincide with a new system in place, such as a new EHR program (University of Scranton, 2017). A way to mitigate this situation is to start at the federal level s regulations and work down the scope from there. This will guarantee that mandatory rules are still being followed and there is successful transition into future policies. Additionally, funding will be crucial to the organization s ability to have a new EHR system. Each department needs to ensure they are properly tracking funds and that they can afford to upgrade. ... By using the procurement process, the administrator can ensure they are making the right decisions on goods and services at the right price (Purchase Control, 2017). When an administrator is required to follow specific policies and guidelines, the steps in the process need to entertain the best EHR system vendor without causing any delays with implementation of the new program. There are 7 steps to the procurement process, beginning with identifying the need to purchase the goods and services. During step one, the administrator would supply potential vendors with a request for proposal (RFP). The RFP is a bidding technique used by the identity requesting the procurement for the vendor s business. By doing this, the administrator has made it known that they have finances available for the EHR system they are looking into (Wikipedia, 2017). The second step in the process is exploring possible vendors. During this step the administrator is using the request for information (RFI) to investigate the ability of the vendor to follow through with the needs of the EHR system they are supplying. The RFI is used to receive hard copy information about the vendors and their supplies. The format allows the administrator to compare multiple suppliers (Wikipedia, 2017). At this point, the administrator would supply possible vendors with a request for quotation (RFQ) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Despite having great insight into Christian mysticism Simone Weil was never baptized. Then, one day, God will come to show himself to the soul and to reveal the beauty of the world to it... However, with time, surrounding yourself with people going through affliction, God will reveal yourself to you and you will understand and see the true beauty of the world. • 15. Sigmund Freud And The Interpretation Of Dreams Before the chaos of the first worldwide conflict, the Great War, psychologists were looking deeper into the human mind trying to find the hidden meaning of dreams. Deeper meaning began to creep its way into both literature and art with both types of creators trying to convey meaning that is more than meets the eye in their works. Symbolism became a popular movement with the increased interest in psychology by those such as the famous psychologist, Sigmund Freud. This interest continued to raise through the years following the Great War especially in the country most blamed for the war, Germany. This blame and instability of the country fueled the expressionist movement making the work created during this time emotional and cynical towards their situation. Through these events and advancements in psychology works such as The Apparition by Gustave Moreau and The Scream by Edvard Munch were created. Sigmund Freud is well known for his interest in the human mind. In Freud s novel The Interpretation of Dreams, published in 1913, explores the deeper meaning behind everyday life. His book explores various meanings of common types of dreams, theories on how dreams relate to everyday life, and two types of dreams: wish fulfilment dreams and distortion dreams. Sarah Kane Crave Analyse My over arching idea for my production of Crave is that I want to give the play some context while also maintaining the theme that these characters could represent anyone. The reason I want to give the play some background is because on my first read of the play, before I read the Saunders article in which Sarah Kane talks about the relationships between C and A, and B and M, a lot of the themes of the play were lost on me because I was so focused on trying to figure out what was going on. I know Sarah Kane didn t want the characters to get stuck in specific categories, but by establishing relationships between the characters I think the audience will be able to focus more on what the characters are saying and less on trying to discern what ... When I read Crave, it seemed to me that the play was divided into different emotional sections, and I want to use the cyc to reflect that. When the lights come up after the characters enter, I want the cyc to be a medium dark purple, which I think helps give the feeling that the play is taking place in the city, which is what I gathered from the dialogue. The purple should be dark enough that it gives the audience a sense of unease, as each of the characters relate depressing tales and talk heatedly with one another. When A begins his speech, I want the cyc to fade into a bright amber that assaults the audience s eyes when it first appears. This symbolizes how upon first glance, A s speech appears happy and innocent, which the color yellow is associated with, but that yellow is tainted with something darker and sinister, making it amber. Then, when C mentions being raped, I want the cyc to fade to a scarlet red, because this I think this marked the transition to the most violent part of the play. Then when C says, No one can hate me more than myself , I want the cyc to start transitioning to a medium blue. As the play continues, I want that blue to get continually darker, symbolizing the characters sinking into despair. When B says Kill me , I want the cyc and all of the lights to fade away, implying that the characters have passed away. • 18. Negligence And Its Impact On Society Negligence is a tort that is a major focus point in how people and organizations interact with each other. How the tort of negligence developed is critical for understanding who is held accountable when a civil wrong has occurred. Negligence focuses on three basic elements: a duty of care, a breach of said duty, and causation of damage. The goal of this assessment is to examine the development of these three elements of negligence tort law in England, and hopefully explain its significance in how it affects society. First, a duty of care must be established for a legitimate negligence claim. The concept of a duty of care is that it demonstrates the defendant (the one wrongdoer) had some sort of responsibility to take care of the claimant (the wronged party who is bringing forth the claim). In English law, the landmark case that conceived the idea of establishing a duty of care was Donoghue v Stevenson (1932 UKHL 100), a case involving a woman who drank a bottle of ginger beer and found a dead snail in the bottle, thus bringing suit against the manufacturer. The House of Lords ruled in the claimant s favor, stating the manufacturer does owe a duty of care to the consumer. Arguably the most integral part of the ruling in Donoghue is where Lord Atkin states: You must take reasonable care to avoid acts or omissions which you can reasonably foresee would be likely to injure your neighbor. Who, then, in law is my neighbor? The answer seems to be persons who are so closely and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

America is usually thought of as the land of equal opportunity for all , but in fact the government does not provide equal economic opportunities. Instead, the government helps big business owners exploit their immigrant employees. Furthermore, Well s argument also shows how even in a capitalist society a system such as sharecropping can exist and bring with it better class relations that benefit growers and workers. One reason for the return of sharecropping was due to labor shortages caused by the termination of the Bracero program. Growers decided to divide their farms into smaller groups which are headed by a husband and wife; they supervised a couple of workers who were family members or friends. This enhanced personal connections as personal relationships played a role in order to get a profit out of the farm allocated. By working alongside family and friends, there was a motivation to perform. Due to the personal work relations, there was no need of employers/employees. The sharecroppers did not believe they were superior to their fellow laborers. This shows that even though there is a capitalist society there was a sense of community. These people are not only thinking about individual profits but also the profit for their family and friends. This also leads to there being no labor resistance. Workers ... The movie appears to be satire, but that isn t my purpose. I have five young female friends who are about the same age as Hiiragi san*, and I spend every summer with them at my mountain cabin. Getting back to this specific image, it is most likely a mixed media of watercolor, acrylic paint, and probably edited with a computer, as it is a final background that was used in the movie. • 31. Relativity Of Truth In Life Of Pi Life of Pi: The Relativity of Truth The relativity of truth refers to truth relativism, which is the doctrine that there are no absolute truths. The truth is always relative to some particular frame of reference. An example of truth relativism is the The Dress trend which went viral because viewers disagreed over whether the colors of the dress were black and blue or gold and white. Because of how a human perceives the color, it could be either of these colors based on how a person sees it. The relativity of truth in the Life of Pi includes and refers to the Blind Frenchman , the algae island, and which story Pi told the interviewers was true. To begin, when Pi went blind in chapter 90 and practically gave up on surviving, he heard a voice. It s astonishing what you hear when you re alone in the blackness of your dying mind. (Martel, Pg 242). To people, this could refer to Pi hearing an actual person or it could just be a figment of his imagination. Misery loves company, and madness calls it forth. (Martel, Pg 242). This adds to the theory that the voice Pi heard was just a figment of his imagination. Further on in the novel, Pi meets and speaks to the Blind Frenchman after figuring out that it wasn t Richard Parker he was talking to. Later on, Richard Parker killed the Frenchman and Pi explored his boat, finding out that the Frenchman had lied to him about having food. What doesn t add up is that Pi regained his eyesight two days after the Frenchman s murder and when he went to check out the dead man s boat, he was still blind. This could mean that Pi didn t actually go on the Frenchman s boat but was actually exploring his boat and that the man was a figment of his imagination to suppress the loneliness Pi was feeling. Furthermore, in chapter 92, Pi discovers an algae island with food to eat and land to settle on. Pi stated ...that the island was not an island in the conventional sense of the term that is, a small landmass rooted to the floor of the ocean but was rather a free floating organism... • 32. Narrative Essay On A Carnival Dream The memorable mornings of waking up on a rocking ship in the vast ocean cannot be properly described without experiencing it first. When I look off the balcony of our ship and see rolling waves of deep blue water, I imagine the strange and wonderful creatures of the ocean. The miles and miles straight down into the abyss can only be imagined, yet can never be understood or fathomed by the mind. While the ocean is incredible, so many other things are happening around you on the cruise ship. My family has made so many unimaginable memories on our superb vacations. While the thought of being in the middle of the ocean and going to foreign countries excited me, I was nervous at the same time. The summer of 2015 changed my life. My family journeyed to New Orleans amid the horribly humid summer heat. My parents, my brother, and I had never been on a cruise before, but we had heard so many great things and were expecting just that. We arrived the night before the cruise and had previously decided to spend the night in New Orleans. We did not want to risk being late and missing our awaited trip. The next morning we drove the streets of New Orleans and discovered the port where we would soon board the boat. We were finally ready to board the expansive Carnival Dream! After working our way through lengthy health forms, metal detectors, and other forms of security, we claimed our spot on the ship at the buffet. Before we knew it, we were tossing the ropes from the port and heading ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Climate Change Policy In Canada Essay Climate policy in Canada is primarily implemented through information, persuasion and voluntary action programs. Canadian policymakers have generally been reluctant to use instruments that put an explicit price on emissions (i.e. tax). This type of attitude towards climate policy stems from the fear of having a negative impact on their overall economic performance and competitiveness of the Canadian industry (Bohringer and Rutherford, 2010). However simply using soft measures such as voluntary programs does not prevent increases of GHG emissions. All in all, the Harper government had been very clear that it had no intention of imposing the types of policies required by the Kyoto Protocol, which officially lead to Canada withdrawing from the agreement. Climate Change Policies under Harper Government This section will examine the Harper government s approach to climate change, and later contrast it to the current Trudeau government s approach. Despite the fact that the current Trudeau government has only been in power for a short amount of time, we can still identify various differences in their approach to tackling the climate change issue. This comparison will essentially demonstrate the fact that a political change in government can sometimes result in a policy issue to be placed on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It has been clear to many that Prime Minister Stephen Harper possessed a hostile perspective towards climate change issues, in contrast to previous Conservative Prime Ministers (i.e. Brian Mulroney). Mulroney made the environment a high priority within his cabinet and on the policy agenda (Healy, 2008). His government developed a first ever Green Plan, and Canada was the first industrialized country to ratify the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC), under which the Kyoto Protocol was developed (Healy, ... • 34. Rhetorical Analysis Of John F. Kennedy s Adgural Address John F. Kennedy s inaugural address was a carefully composed speech, that conveyed the primary goals of the incoming president in a convincing way. It is important for the president to have a strong inaugural address, because it informs the people of one s intentions as president. In order for President Kennedy s address to be effective, he uses rhetorical strategies. Through the use of rhetorical strategies, President Kennedy supports his objectives with reason and logic to appeal to the people s desire for security and structure. He also alludes to his good character to make the people feel safe and trust him to guide them. In the address, President Kennedy uses emotion to make a connection with the people, this makes him seem more relatable and connected to the people. These are strategies used in an attempt to persuade the audience to trust President Kennedy. In President Kennedy s inaugural address, he convincingly conveys his message to his audience, through the use of rhetorical devices. The use of anaphoras allow President Kennedy to stress his message by repeating a word at the beginning of successive clauses. This helps to emphasize his point to the audience. For example, President Kennedy uses an anaphora to express the importance of bringing both sides together, and having them work together for the benefit of the country and its citizens. Let both sides explore what problems unite us instead of belaboring those problems which divide us. Let both sides, for the first time, formulate serious and precise proposals for the inspection and control of arms and bring the absolute power to destroy other nations under the absolute control of all nations. Let both sides seek to invoke the wonders of science instead of its terrors (Address). Kennedy also starts a series of paragraphs with To those. This allows Kennedy to personally address the people he will be working with during his presidency, by making specific promises to them. It helps to create a personal bond with citizens, and other countries. This is important because if people trust the President, the President will be more likely to achieve his goals. As well as anaphoras, President Kennedy uses hyperphoria to gain the trust ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Chipotle Case Study Essay Part 3 Chipotle s first store opened in 1993, and since then has grown to more than 900 stores in the United States. However, Chipotle s experimentation in international markets has evolved slowly. In 2008, Chipotle opened its first restaurant outside of the US, in Toronto, Canada. In 2010, a second restaurant opened in Toronto and in 2012, a third in Vancouver. Chipotle has also expanded to Europe, with its first European restaurant opening in 2010 in London of the United Kingdom. As of today, seven restaurants have opened in the London area. Chipotle blames the slow growth in the United Kingdom on British unfamiliarity with Mexican food. However, several locally owned burrito chains have successfully opened locations throughout the United ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As recently as last year Chipotle was the victim of a pork shortage. In January of 2015, it cut ties with a supplier that violated its standards, which ban the use of hormones or antibiotics that require pigs to have access to the outdoors and to deeply bedded barns. After dropping the supplier, Chipotle had a tough time finding a replacement. As a result, hundreds of restaurants were unable to sell carnitas, a popular menu item. If Chipotle expands even more internationally, it could continue to run into this problem, and it could expand to other ingredients. In order to meet the demand, Chipotle looks for many of its ingredients outside of the United States. For example, in order to back their commitment to source 100 percent grass fed cows, Chipotle has started to source beef from Australia. The organization s reasoning behind this decision is that not enough farmers based in the US follow a truly organic protocol. Too many farmers raising cattle in the US are using hormones and antibiotics. In contrast, Australian raised cows spend their entire lives in pastures, eating grass or forages, such as ... Identically, one of the misconceptions is that they believed the white men were the returning spirits of their ancestors. While the white men washing the dishes by the lake, the natives admitted that those people were finding their bones. Because in the Native New Guinea Highlanders culture, they usually threw the died bones into the lake. This misconception indicated that the highlanders were ethnocentric. They prejudiced others based on their own culture. The consequences were that they could not fully understand other s culture and it blocked the road of civilization. For example, the New Guinea people were very anxious to get trade with Australian miners. They exchanged pigs for knives, axes, and shells. However, because of their ethnocentrism, they did not know what were the white men looking for, what is gold, and what is its value. It was particularly ironic that they even encouraged their wives to go to white men to gain good things, like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
