Richard Nixon was the 37th President of the United States whose presidency was tarnished. He served as President from 1969 to 1974. Nixon came from a struggling family in California and had strong family support, though he could be doubtful and indecisive as President. Nixon's presidency was ultimately cut short due to the Watergate scandal, in which several of Nixon's aides broke into the Democratic National Committee headquarters and Nixon subsequently tried to cover it up, leading to his resignation.
