Structural Protein
Functions of Proteins in Living Organisms
Proteins are an essential part of a healthy diet in the human body which help to stimulate growth and
maintenance. They are made up of amino acids, which the body uses to make new protein for a huge
variety of functions. Proteins work as a power source which is said to be the bodies tissue building
blocks. Protein is needed to form blood cells. Protein assists in shaping the hair, nails and muscles
which are the structural features of the body.
Structural Protein
Structural proteins produce in the cells are use to shape component in the body, for example, collagen.
Collagen is a fibrous structural protein which is made up of three polypeptide chains surrounding each
other like a twisted rope. Collagen provides a mechanical durability in most regions of the cell. Blood

One of this filament is called myosin. Myosin exists as a filament inside of the eukaryotic cells which
are a motor molecule responsible for a number of interactions, such as contractions muscles and
movement. The head and the tail domain are mostly composed of myosin molecules and converts ATP
(adenosine triphosphate), a molecule that cells use in order to work and live, into mechanical energy
(energy of work). This will then create force and movement. The filamentous actin is bound by the
head domain and uses ATP hydrolysis to walk along the filament and to create force and towards the
end. The tail domain generally mediates interaction with other myosin subunits and/or cargo
molecules. This will result in an expansion and contraction movement. It works closely with a
globular protein called actin that polymerises to create actin

Enceladus Moon Essay
Enceladus Moon Of Saturn Contains Alien Life?
The Enceladus moon is an ice encrusted moon circling Saturn seems to have the conditions vital for
life. It was revealed by NASA, disclosing new discoveries made by its unmanned Cassini shuttle.
Cassini has recognized hydrogen particles in vapor crest exuding from splits in the surface of
Enceladus moon, a little sea moon covered in a thick layer of ice, the United States space organization
said.
Moreover,
The tufts have driven researchers to derive that aqueous synthetic responses between the moon s rough
center and its sea, situated under the ice outside, are likely happening on Enceladus moon.
On Earth, those substance responses permit microorganisms to thrive in hot breaks in the planet s sea

The hydrogen in the sub surface sea could join with carbon dioxide atoms in a procedure known as
methanogenesis, which makes a result of methane. In the occasion that there are to be sure organisms
living in the moon s sea, they could draw from that vitality source as sustenance. Researchers said the

Free Exercise Clause
The first amendment consists of two provisions: the establishment clause and the free exercise clause.
The establishment clause was set forth to prevent government from establishing a religion. For
example, if a government were to publically fund a church this would be considered an attempt of the
government to establish a religion. The free exercise clause was enacted to endow every individual the
right to practice their religion freely so long as it does not interfere with public morals . Thus, the
establishment clause is directed more towards the government s actions whereas the free exercise
clause is directed at citizens and limits the free aspect of an individual s right to practice their religion
if needed be. In 1962, Engel v. Vitale was an important Supreme Court Case in the United States that
required a firm wall of separation between church and state. A group of families in New Hyde park,
New York did not appreciate the implementation of a state prayer in their children s schools. They
families challenged the court about the constitutionality of this practice. The courts were in favor of

Story of a Holocaust Survivor
I pray you never stand at any crossroads in your own lives, but if you do, if the darkness seems so
total, if you think there is no way out, remember, never ever give up. The darker the night, the brighter
the dawn, and when it gets really, really dark, this is when one sees the true brilliance of the stars.
These words were spoken by Gerda Klein, a Holocaust survivor. Her story is filled with desperation
and an overwhelming sense of hope. Gerda Weissmann was born in Bielsko, Poland. Both of her
parents and her older brother died during the Holocaust. She was somehow able to survive the ghetto,
deportation, slave labor camps and a three month death march. She was rescued by an American
soldier named Kurt Klein. She ended up marrying him and moving to the United States. Her story is
an example of a person who struggled with adversity but searched for a reason to hope. She has used
her remarkable survival as an inspiration for those who have no reason to believe they can overcome
struggles. She has a foundation named Citizenship Counts which teaches students about their rights
and the importance of their citizenship. She has written many books about her experiences and her
belief that hope will help a person overcome darkness. She travels the world today telling people her
story to increase their knowledge of the Holocaust. Her story of survival serves of as an inspiration to
people who are suffering and are looking for a reason to have hope.¹ Mrs. Klein s

Negligence And Its Impact On Society
Negligence is a tort that is a major focus point in how people and organizations interact with each
other. How the tort of negligence developed is critical for understanding who is held accountable
when a civil wrong has occurred. Negligence focuses on three basic elements: a duty of care, a breach
of said duty, and causation of damage. The goal of this assessment is to examine the development of
these three elements of negligence tort law in England, and hopefully explain its significance in how it
affects society. First, a duty of care must be established for a legitimate negligence claim. The concept
of a duty of care is that it demonstrates the defendant (the one wrongdoer) had some sort of
responsibility to take care of the claimant (the wronged party who is bringing forth the claim). In
English law, the landmark case that conceived the idea of establishing a duty of care was Donoghue v
Stevenson (1932 UKHL 100), a case involving a woman who drank a bottle of ginger beer and found
a dead snail in the bottle, thus bringing suit against the manufacturer. The House of Lords ruled in the
claimant s favor, stating the manufacturer does owe a duty of care to the consumer. Arguably the most
integral part of the ruling in Donoghue is where Lord Atkin states:
You must take reasonable care to avoid acts or omissions which you can reasonably foresee would be
likely to injure your neighbor. Who, then, in law is my neighbor? The answer seems to be persons who
are so closely and

Data Center Network Design Using Metrics And Their Results...
Abstract Data centers are physical or virtual repositories for storing, managing and accessing data.
Data center network (DCN) is the interconnection between the data centers. There are several existing
architectures for the interconnections between these data centers. Several aspects are taken into
consideration while designing data center network architecture. This paper shows analysis of several
data center network architectures using metrics and their results on different network topologies. For
security and routing data centers can use a hardware approach called Forwarding Unit or deploy
middleboxes in the networks.

Conventional systems were too complex to operate and maintain. Many cables were required to
connect all the components, and methods to accommodate and organize the data. A single mainframe
required a great deal of power, and had to be cooled to avoid overheating. Security became important
and computers were expensive. Data centers were then introduced where collectively data was stored
and maintained. Data collection increased rapidly over years, which led to an increase in data centers.
Communication between these servers became difficult and complex. For an efficient communication
between the servers many architectures were proposed. Data center architectures and requirements can
differ significantly.

Chomsky And The War On Terror
We live in a day and age of hypocrisy and it seems that a majority don t acknowledge that we are all
total hypocrites. Noam Chomsky, a well known American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist,
logician, political commentator, social justice activist, and anarcho syndicalist advocate does an
elaborate job in his speech given at Harvard University, to make us question if there really is a war on
terror. Chomsky calls everybody a hypocrite and uses the U.S. Army Manual definition of terrorism to
argue that there can t be a war on terrorism because the U.S. is also a terrorist group itself. We can t
fight something if we ourselves do that same thing. Chomsky backs up his claim with many pieces of
evidence and facts about the U.S. involvement with terrorist actions. His argument is well put because
it does a good job in making us understand what is really happening with the U.S. and the war on
terror.
People are probably thinking Chomsky must be crazy, to call America a terrorist group. Americans
view America as a nation that fights terror and fail to look at all the reports and articles about the U.S.
actually doing acts that are defined to be terrorist acts. If you love America, then you must know about
the great document called The Declaration of Independence. It was written by one of our founding
fathers, Thomas Jefferson. People back in the day looked at Jefferson as a crazy person as well when
he wrote the document. How could he address a new type of governing and

Virgin Birth Research Paper
A virgin birth is also known as parthenogenesis, and it was only documented among captive animals,
perhaps by the stress, or isolation. Scientifics discovered that the virgin birth occur in 70 different
species such as amphibians, reptiles, cartilaginous, bony fish and birds but the reasons aren t quite
understandable. Scientifics after finding out about the virgin birth they started thinking if the animals
have done this millions of year ago. A question that hasn t been answered is, Why among vertebrates,
can fish, reptiles and birds have virgin births, but mammals, including humans, seemingly cannot? The
first animal to have a virgin birth was the 6m long phyton call Thelma according to the scientists. She
had made eggs without the need of a male sperm or DNA. She used a method call polar body, this
object is the same as sperm. Each of her offspring have two copies of her chromosomes, they were
called half clones of Thelma at the first article. Even though Thelma and her offsprings are special
they are not far from being like any other animal. Another weird type of virgin birth was when a

Essay on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea Some time ago, I decided to read Twenty Thousand Leagues
under the Sea, by Jules Verne. I figured that because it was so well known it must be an extremely
interesting book. In addition, it was science fiction, the one area that I was always interested. My
assumption was only partially correct, for I only was to a degree interested in the piece of writing.
When Jules Verne was writing this book, he must have been reading some incredibly dull science
book the day before, for that was what the book was written as. The style of writing was utterly
against my tastes, and though the plot was moderately interesting, the style of writing really ruined it.

It promptly fitted a frigate, the Abraham Lincoln, to destroy the beast, and invited Pierre to join them,
for his science capabilities. For many months they searched, but could not find this Narwhale
anywhere. When they found it, it attacked the ship, disabling it, and sending M. Aronnax, Ned Land (a
harpooner) and Conseil (servant of Pierre) overboard. Soon, the three were guests in the Narwhale,
now known to be a ship, the Nautilus, commanded by Captain Nemo. During the stay aboard the
Nautilus, Pierre Conseil and Ned encounter and discover many wonderful and interesting facts from
the sea. Often, they would accompany the captain in an under water expedition. Several of these
excursions were to hunt, and others were simply to explore a submarine region. One of the times when
the purpose was just to investigate an underwater region, Captain Nemo and M. Aronnax explored the
lost city of Atlantis. On a separate occasion, Pierre found that there was a supply of coal underwater
that the Nautilus used as a source of fuel. In addition to underwater excursions, the Nautilus itself was
on a round the world journey, which accounted for the most exiting time of the book. This was when
Captain Nemo was attempting to access the South Pole. That meant passing the Great Ice Barrier, and
surviving with very little air. During this rather long voyage, the submarine gets wedged between two

The Government Of The People
Democracy is, and will always be, as one of America s past presidents Abraham Lincoln stated in his
Gettysburg Address, government of the people, by the people, and for the people. The exact definition
for democracy is a system of government by the whole population of a state, typically through elected
members. The original idea of democracy that America s Founding Fathers promoted has shifted
throughout the years. America was founded on the principles of freedom and liberty and many of these
freedoms and liberties are being stripped away, or are at risk of being stripped away, by the American
government. America is no longer a democracy, but it is an oligarchy. America is considered an
oligarchy because of one reason, and that reason is that power lies in the hand of the elite wealthy. The
majority of the population in America belongs to the middle class. The preferences of most American
citizens have little impact on government. Instead, the responsiveness of government is strongly tilted
towards the most affluent citizens . Those who reap the benefits are the ones creating policies. As U.S.
supreme court justice, Louis Brandeis, stated, America can have democracy or it can have great wealth
concentrated in the hands of a few, but it cannot have both. Oligarchy and democracy cannot coexist.
It is true to say that since the founding of America, freedoms and rights of all who have inhabited this
land have greatly increased. However, in recent years, these rights have

to your computer. This has made our lives easier and more efficient. Though the internet has many
advantages, it has brought a lot of negative impact to our society.
Definition of the internet
The word Internet comes from the words Interconnection of Networks (Greenfield, 1999). According
to One book projects, the Internet is a worldwide interconnection of computer networks that transmit
information from one place to another using the standard Internet Protocol. It is also knwn as the Net.
In order to understand how the internet has an impact to our day to day lives, one needs to understand
its history.
History of the internet
According to Johnny Ryan (2010), the internet was first conceived in the early 1960 by the

It has been said that teens across the world have not been receiving enough sex education. This has led

who are becoming pregnant. Rates among teens had been declining for some time, but are starting to

pregnant at least once before the turn 20, and the federal government spends about $7 billion to help
families that originate with a teen mother (Gilbert, 2007). Studies have shown throughout these
countries that America still has the highest rate of teen pregnancy. In Canada, the teen birth rate
declined from 35.7 per 1000 in 1974 to 14.4 in 2003 (McKay, 2006). This statement was made
referring to the United States, Since the teen birthrate is on the rise for the first time in 15 years, it is
critically important to focus resources and attention on this problem (Docksai, 2010). The teen
birthrates maybe declining in other territories around the world, but the U.S. is starting to see an
increase.
Many people believe that anyone that becomes a teen parent is someone who is coming from a poor or

found that 41% of U.S. teen parents come from homes at or above 200% of the federal poverty line,
and 70% were raised in two parent homes (Docksai, 2010). This shows that there are teens that are
seen as normal to society becoming pregnant. The results of the numerous people who completed the

Compare and Contrast
2Pac Saint John the Baptist
Although they lived in very different times, Tupac Shakur and Saint John the Baptist had many
commonalities. Both became extremely famous for expressing what they believed. The media s
portrayal of Tupac Shakur as a tattooed thug has focused public attention on his accused crimes
instead of his music. This rapper, raised in Marin City, California, by a Black Panther mother, is more
complex than his enemies like to admit. Shakur (who performs as 2Pac) was a talented lyricist with a
gift for storytelling and getting his point across to our youth. He continued to grow as a writer on his
hard hitting album, All Eyez on Me which benefits from West Coast style production by such artists ...

Rene Descarte s Dualism In The Matrix
Foremost, apart from all the action, special effects and hidden messages, the movie The Matrix poses
the question, What is reality? as the main character Neo is revealed the answer and scape s the trap of

harness the biochemical electricity that the human bodies produces for fuel, the machines must

Essay on Vision of Heaven in the Poetry of Dickinson
Vision of Heaven in the Poetry of Dickinson
Emily Dickinson never became a member of the church although she lived in a typical New England
Puritan community all her life. The well known lines, Some keep the Sabbath going to church / I keep
it staying at Home (P 236 [B]; J 324),1 suggest her defiance against the existing church and
Christianity of her time in particular. And her manner of calling the Deity by such terms as Burglar,
Banker (P 39; J 49), and a jealous God (P 1752; J 1719) clearly discloses her antagonism against the
Christian God. In fact, she insistently rejected being baptized even when her family members and
intimate friends at Mount Holyoke Female Seminary had chosen to bow in ... Show more content on

And Dickinson herself knew the answer was to be found in the Bible, as she answered, For Prose Mr
Ruskin Sir Thomas Browne and the Revelations (L 261)2 when asked by Thomas W. Higginson what
her favorite books were. Of course, there were many other prose writings which she could have
mentioned, but she dared to select these three as the sources of her inspiration. Needless to say, the
three were exclusively special for her. Therefore, by referring to the picture of heaven in the Book of
Revelation, I will consider how Dickinson s poetry delineates one of the most important and
sometimes enigmatic Christian doctrines, the idea of heaven.
The following poem furnishes us with appropriate materials for discussion:
I went to Heaven
Twas a small Town
Lit with a Ruby
Lathed with Down
Stiller than the fields
At the full Dew
Beautiful as Pictures
No Man drew
People like the Moth
Of Mechlin frames
Duties of Gossamer
And Eider names
Almost contented
I could be
Mong such unique
Society (P 577 [B]; J 374)
Written in about 1862, one of the anni mirabiles (most productive years) of Dickinson s life, this poem
portrays a really mirabile visu spectacle of the heavenly kingdom in earthly images as John sees
heaven in terms of earthly

An Illegal Mexican Immigrant Immigrants
They slip into the San Diego rail yard furtively, preferably beneath the protective cover of darkness,
jumping fences, eluding guards and dodging two hundred ton locomotives in a perilous dash for the
most elusive of prizes, a free ride to the north. According to Jose Flores, an illegal Mexican immigrant
seeking work in the United States says, To be truthful, I have no idea of precisely where this train
goes, other than it takes us to el norte (Griffin 363+). The fact that each night literally hundreds of
men and women clamber over the barricade is testament to its ineffectiveness and to the irresistible
pull of United States jobs that on average pay eight times their equivalent in Mexico (Griffin 363+ ).
Javier Ortega, a 40 year old auto body repairman from Guadalajara, says, It doesn t matter how many
people, horses, bicycles, helicopters or planes they use.... People will go. It doesn t matter if the fence
is electric (Griffin 363+). These people carry dreams with them in hopes for a better life. These people
are willing to walk day and night through any desert and any river they come across to achieve the
American Dream. Illegal immigration between Mexico and the United States is a serious situation that
needs to be solved. To better understand this situation, one must analyze the causes and effects and
come up with a solution.
More and more people are coming from Mexico and entering the United States illegally. Every day
thousands of Mexicans and Central

How Is Hollywood Portrayed In Saving Private Ryan
Steven Spielberg creates a master piece that entails many triumphs and loses. The movie, Saving
Private Ryan is not your typical World War II movie. This movie was released July twenty fourth,
1998. It is about the triumph of the United States over Germany. An amazing aspect of this film is how
the plot does not make the viewer emotional; but the graphic scenes of interactions, war, and the
dialogue of the soldiers involved in the war. I love how it shows a variety of soldiers that act
differently and all have their very own attributes that both hither or benefit their squad. This movie
brings the viewer closer than ever to a firsthand portrayal of what happened to the people that were
involved in World War II. The film also shows people a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
War is a terrible thing that happens in people s lives but it is also necessary. If there was no war would
people be people anymore? It is in people s nature to disagree and want to be right and if they cannot
have what they want sometimes it leads to a fight. This movie shows the struggle just to even stay
alive in a firefight. Soldiers have to be tactically smarter than their enemies. The message can be seen
differently and comprehended differently to each viewer. This film is a must see for anyone remotely
interested in war or a good fight scene. I would compare this film to Thin Red Line which is another
fantastic film to watch. The movies may have completely different plots but the imagery is just the
same to climb into the psyche of a solider. The plot, actors, and imagery all play a massive part in the
role of this movie. The imagery is what ties it all together with the bloodied water in the intro of the
movie or the solider getting slowly killed with a knife placed in his

Similarities And Differences Between The Cardiac And...
This table shows the similarities and differences between the cardiac and skeletal muscle. One of the
main similarities is the fact both muscles are categorized as striated muscles. Striations are the main
key to identifying the skeletal and cardiac muscle. The striated muscles are attached to the bone of the
cells in which they produce all the movement in the body. Another similarity is that they can be
electrically conducted because they both contain t tubules. The t tubules are the plasma membrane of
both muscles. They allow depolarization of the membranes which then penetrate into the cell.
They are both resistant to fatigue, especially the cardiac muscle due to the large amount of
mitochondria is contains. However the skeletal muscle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both of these muscles expand and contract as they have complex structures so it is essential how they
do this. The cardiac muscle needs the contractions to occur in order to pump blood out of the atria and
into the ventricles and round the circulatory system so the structure of this muscle shows the systole of
the heart. The contractions of the skeletal muscle also depend on its structure. The binding and
releasing of two strands of sarcomere is how the repeated pattern of contractions occurs. ATP is used
to prepare myosin for binding to allow the contractions to happen. The skeletal and cardiac muscle
also both has elasticity. The elasticity is used to restore the muscles back to their original lengths
which enable them to resume back to their original length once they have contracted and been
stretched.
As well as the skeletal and cardiac muscle having many similarities, they also have differences. The
main difference is the location of these two muscles. The cardiac muscle is found in the walls of the
heart however the skeletal muscle is attached to the bone by tendons. This is because they have
different functions. The skeletal muscle needs to be attached to the bones as its function is to produce
movement of the body and the cardiac muscle is to pump blood around the body.
Another difference is the fact they have different lengths, the skeletal muscle is much longer than the
cardiac muscle. This is because when cell

This was down to a number of key Fig. 5 figurehead architects and designers. This burst of prosperity
had surprisingly emerged from a devastating fire, later known as The Great Chicago Fire (depicted in
fig. 5, 6 top, left). The disaster was a conflagration, which burned from the 8 th th October, up until
early Tuesday morning of the 10 th October, 1871. The fire killed hundreds of people and destroyed
approximately 3.3 Fig. 6 square miles (9 km ) of Chicago. The fire was logged as one of the 2 largest
U.S. disasters of the 19th century, with the second star upon the Municipal flag of Chicago,
commemorating the tragedy. 7 Much like a sapling sprouting from the burned ashes of a forest fire,
the city of Chicago began to rebuild; creating a bigger and better city than before. A man called Joseph
Medill, truly captured the sense of the city in a Tribune editorial he wrote on the 11 October (fig. 7

years accumulations, the people of this once beautiful city have resolved that Chicago Shall Rise
Again . A message such as that is what the populace needed to boost their spirits; to drive them on to
build a Fig. 7 more prosperous future for Chicago. Alot of the city, including 8 th stockyards and

How Gram Staining Is Negative Or Positive, It s...
Purpose:
The purpose of this lab was to be able to gram stain given cultures and examine their reaction to
certain dyes and determine whether the culture is negative or positive, it s morphology, and
arrangement of the cells. By using the Gram staining method, microorganisms can be narrowed down
for the identification process as well as the leading to diagnosis
Procedure:
For this experiment, we were given three gram staining slides as well as a petri dish with five different
types of incubated microorganisms that were divided. The five different organisms on the petri dish
being observed were Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella
pneumonia, and yeast known as Candida albicans. On the surface of the ... Show more content on

On the third slide, the smear was not taken from the petri dish, however it was taken from a thorough
swab of the mouth and smeared within the given margins on the slide. The samples were then left to
air dry. Once the slides dried, they were passed through a flame 4 5 times to follow the aseptic
technique protocols.
Once this was done, our next step was to begin the Gram staining process. First, is the Primary stain,
using the crystal violet dye color. The slides were all laid out on top of a rack placed over the sink
station and were flooded with the violet dye color; the slides were left with the dye on them for 1 2
minutes to assure they were stained. The slides were then rinsed off thoroughly. Next, the slides were
stained with the Mordant (fixative) Iodine Gram stain which appears brown in color. The slides were
then flooded with the brown dye for 1 2 minutes and then rinsed off.
After all the slides were stained accordingly, they needed to be decolorized with 95% ethyl alcohol
which is clear in color, and will be the determining factor between whether the stains are negative or
positive. Just as we did with the crystal violet dye and the brown iodine dye, the slides were drowned
with the 95% ethyl alcohol. The difference here was how long to leave the alcohol on each depending
on how thick the samples were. The slides labeled mouth were removed within 20 seconds. The rest of
the samples were removed within the following 10 seconds.

The Importance Of Gentrification Of Indigenous People
The first time an indigenous event occurred can never be accurately described in text. There have been
many incidents where people have been driven out of their homes and out of their property just
because a more civilized group of people have moved in and decided to make it their own home, there
have even been cases of this turning into slavery. This is the exact definition of gentrification. Is
gentrification of indigenous people morally correct? Does it need to be looked at in order for society
to continue moving forward? For example, would society be a better place, if instead of fixing roads
first, we looked to make sure the people ALL felt as if they were being treated rightfully and fair and
equal? To be honest, people of indigenous backgrounds are angry. Although this can t be said for all of
them, there are a few people irritated at the fact that their ancestors were taken advantage of and that
now, in modern time, they are being ignored and set aside.
For many people of indigenous backgrounds, they have to grow up in a society where their history isn
t talked about and their backgrounds are irrelevant even though their ancestors had as much to do with
the creation of a country as much as the others do. Why is it that indigenous people never get the
credit? It could possibly be the fact that when they were first introduced to the people who had
founded the land, the indigenous people were not as advanced as them. Or it could also be the fact that

Who Won The Battle Of Hastings
Duke William of Normandy won the battle because he was well prepared, had enough to time to
organize, rest, had good weapons and had a well trained army including archers, infantry and Calvary.
In total, William had approximately 7500 men ready to battle whereas King Harold unfortunately had
only 4500 voluntary village people who volunteered to battle and only five hundred professionally
trained soldiers. They prepared carefully for the battle. The Normans had knights on horseback
(Calvary) who were skilful fighters. William also was skilful and ambitious, and he was determined to
be King of England. In the Bayeux Tapestry, it shows William s army preparing for battle, embarking
huge ships filled with wood and supplies such as wine, weapons, and horses. There are also pictures of
the knights in full battle armour riding out to war. William s men also had better armour and weapons,
for example: the cavalry were all equipped with mail hauberk, there is some evidence that archers
used crossbows in addition to bows and arrows, some battle maces were also used along with spears
and swords, round shields and kite shaped shields. This meant that the Normans were more protected

the Battle of Stamford Bridge therefore Harold has less soldiers. Also, once hearing the news that the
wind changed directions when they just won the Battle of Stamford Bridge, Harold s army (even
though they were badly injured) had to race back to the south coast of England marching 250 miles
just to battle William thus resulting in Harold s soldiers feeling exhausted, tired and

Myosin exists as a filament inside of the eukaryotic cells which are a motor molecule responsible for a number of interactions, such as contractions muscles and movement. The head and the tail domain are mostly composed of myosin molecules and converts ATP (adenosine triphosphate), a molecule that cells use in order to work and live, into mechanical energy (energy of work). This will then create force and movement. The filamentous actin is bound by the head domain and uses ATP hydrolysis to walk along the filament and to create force and towards the end. • 8. Free Exercise Clause The first amendment consists of two provisions: the establishment clause and the free exercise clause. The establishment clause was set forth to prevent government from establishing a religion. For example, if a government were to publically fund a church this would be considered an attempt of the government to establish a religion. The free exercise clause was enacted to endow every individual the right to practice their religion freely so long as it does not interfere with public morals . Thus, the establishment clause is directed more towards the government s actions whereas the free exercise clause is directed at citizens and limits the free aspect of an individual s right to practice their religion if needed be. • 9. Story of a Holocaust Survivor I pray you never stand at any crossroads in your own lives, but if you do, if the darkness seems so total, if you think there is no way out, remember, never ever give up. The darker the night, the brighter the dawn, and when it gets really, really dark, this is when one sees the true brilliance of the stars. These words were spoken by Gerda Klein, a Holocaust survivor. Her story is filled with desperation and an overwhelming sense of hope. Gerda Weissmann was born in Bielsko, Poland. Both of her parents and her older brother died during the Holocaust. She was somehow able to survive the ghetto, deportation, slave labor camps and a three month death march. She was rescued by an American soldier named Kurt Klein. She ended up marrying him and moving to the United States. Her story is an example of a person who struggled with adversity but searched for a reason to hope. She has used her remarkable survival as an inspiration for those who have no reason to believe they can overcome struggles. She has a foundation named Citizenship Counts which teaches students about their rights and the importance of their citizenship. She has written many books about her experiences and her belief that hope will help a person overcome darkness. She travels the world today telling people her story to increase their knowledge of the Holocaust. Her story of survival serves of as an inspiration to people who are suffering and are looking for a reason to have hope.¹ Mrs. Klein s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Negligence And Its Impact On Society Negligence is a tort that is a major focus point in how people and organizations interact with each other. How the tort of negligence developed is critical for understanding who is held accountable when a civil wrong has occurred. Negligence focuses on three basic elements: a duty of care, a breach of said duty, and causation of damage. The goal of this assessment is to examine the development of these three elements of negligence tort law in England, and hopefully explain its significance in how it affects society. First, a duty of care must be established for a legitimate negligence claim. The concept of a duty of care is that it demonstrates the defendant (the one wrongdoer) had some sort of responsibility to take care of the claimant (the wronged party who is bringing forth the claim). In English law, the landmark case that conceived the idea of establishing a duty of care was Donoghue v Stevenson (1932 UKHL 100), a case involving a woman who drank a bottle of ginger beer and found a dead snail in the bottle, thus bringing suit against the manufacturer. The House of Lords ruled in the claimant s favor, stating the manufacturer does owe a duty of care to the consumer. Arguably the most integral part of the ruling in Donoghue is where Lord Atkin states: You must take reasonable care to avoid acts or omissions which you can reasonably foresee would be likely to injure your neighbor. Who, then, in law is my neighbor? The answer seems to be persons who are so closely and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Data Center Network Design Using Metrics And Their Results... Abstract Data centers are physical or virtual repositories for storing, managing and accessing data. Data center network (DCN) is the interconnection between the data centers. There are several existing architectures for the interconnections between these data centers. Several aspects are taken into consideration while designing data center network architecture. This paper shows analysis of several data center network architectures using metrics and their results on different network topologies. For security and routing data centers can use a hardware approach called Forwarding Unit or deploy middleboxes in the networks. Keywords component; formatting; style; styling; insert (key words) I. INTRODUCTION Conventional systems were too complex to operate and maintain. Many cables were required to connect all the components, and methods to accommodate and organize the data. A single mainframe required a great deal of power, and had to be cooled to avoid overheating. Security became important and computers were expensive. Data centers were then introduced where collectively data was stored and maintained. Data collection increased rapidly over years, which led to an increase in data centers. Communication between these servers became difficult and complex. For an efficient communication between the servers many architectures were proposed. Data center architectures and requirements can differ significantly. With data availability and security at stake, managing and storing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Chomsky And The War On Terror We live in a day and age of hypocrisy and it seems that a majority don t acknowledge that we are all total hypocrites. Noam Chomsky, a well known American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, logician, political commentator, social justice activist, and anarcho syndicalist advocate does an elaborate job in his speech given at Harvard University, to make us question if there really is a war on terror. Chomsky calls everybody a hypocrite and uses the U.S. Army Manual definition of terrorism to argue that there can t be a war on terrorism because the U.S. is also a terrorist group itself. We can t fight something if we ourselves do that same thing. Chomsky backs up his claim with many pieces of evidence and facts about the U.S. involvement with terrorist actions. His argument is well put because it does a good job in making us understand what is really happening with the U.S. and the war on terror. People are probably thinking Chomsky must be crazy, to call America a terrorist group. Americans view America as a nation that fights terror and fail to look at all the reports and articles about the U.S. actually doing acts that are defined to be terrorist acts. If you love America, then you must know about the great document called The Declaration of Independence. It was written by one of our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson. People back in the day looked at Jefferson as a crazy person as well when he wrote the document. How could he address a new type of governing and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Scientifics discovered that the virgin birth occur in 70 different species such as amphibians, reptiles, cartilaginous, bony fish and birds but the reasons aren t quite understandable. Scientifics after finding out about the virgin birth they started thinking if the animals have done this millions of year ago. A question that hasn t been answered is, Why among vertebrates, can fish, reptiles and birds have virgin births, but mammals, including humans, seemingly cannot? The first animal to have a virgin birth was the 6m long phyton call Thelma according to the scientists. She had made eggs without the need of a male sperm or DNA. She used a method call polar body, this object is the same as sperm. Each of her offspring have two copies of her chromosomes, they were called half clones of Thelma at the first article. Even though Thelma and her offsprings are special they are not far from being like any other animal. • 14. Essay on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea Some time ago, I decided to read Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea, by Jules Verne. I figured that because it was so well known it must be an extremely interesting book. In addition, it was science fiction, the one area that I was always interested. My assumption was only partially correct, for I only was to a degree interested in the piece of writing. When Jules Verne was writing this book, he must have been reading some incredibly dull science book the day before, for that was what the book was written as. The style of writing was utterly against my tastes, and though the plot was moderately interesting, the style of writing really ruined it. Often, the author will trail off describing some ... During the stay aboard the Nautilus, Pierre Conseil and Ned encounter and discover many wonderful and interesting facts from the sea. Often, they would accompany the captain in an under water expedition. Several of these excursions were to hunt, and others were simply to explore a submarine region. One of the times when the purpose was just to investigate an underwater region, Captain Nemo and M. Aronnax explored the lost city of Atlantis. On a separate occasion, Pierre found that there was a supply of coal underwater that the Nautilus used as a source of fuel. In addition to underwater excursions, the Nautilus itself was on a round the world journey, which accounted for the most exiting time of the book. This was when Captain Nemo was attempting to access the South Pole. That meant passing the Great Ice Barrier, and surviving with very little air. • 15. The Government Of The People Democracy is, and will always be, as one of America s past presidents Abraham Lincoln stated in his Gettysburg Address, government of the people, by the people, and for the people. The exact definition for democracy is a system of government by the whole population of a state, typically through elected members. The original idea of democracy that America s Founding Fathers promoted has shifted throughout the years. America was founded on the principles of freedom and liberty and many of these freedoms and liberties are being stripped away, or are at risk of being stripped away, by the American government. America is no longer a democracy, but it is an oligarchy. America is considered an oligarchy because of one reason, and that reason is that power lies in the hand of the elite wealthy. The majority of the population in America belongs to the middle class. The preferences of most American citizens have little impact on government. Instead, the responsiveness of government is strongly tilted towards the most affluent citizens . Those who reap the benefits are the ones creating policies. As U.S. supreme court justice, Louis Brandeis, stated, America can have democracy or it can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but it cannot have both. Oligarchy and democracy cannot coexist. It is true to say that since the founding of America, freedoms and rights of all who have inhabited this land have greatly increased. However, in recent years, these rights have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the main similarities is the fact both muscles are categorized as striated muscles. Striations are the main key to identifying the skeletal and cardiac muscle. Another similarity is that they can be electrically conducted because they both contain t tubules. The t tubules are the plasma membrane of both muscles. The contractions of the skeletal muscle also depend on its structure. The binding and releasing of two strands of sarcomere is how the repeated pattern of contractions occurs. The elasticity is used to restore the muscles back to their original lengths which enable them to resume back to their original length once they have contracted and been stretched. As well as the skeletal and cardiac muscle having many similarities, they also have differences. The main difference is the location of these two muscles. There have been many incidents where people have been driven out of their homes and out of their property just because a more civilized group of people have moved in and decided to make it their own home, there have even been cases of this turning into slavery. This is the exact definition of gentrification. Is gentrification of indigenous people morally correct? Does it need to be looked at in order for society to continue moving forward? They prepared carefully for the battle. The Normans had knights on horseback (Calvary) who were skilful fighters. William also was skilful and ambitious, and he was determined to be King of England. In the Bayeux Tapestry, it shows William s army preparing for battle, embarking huge ships filled with wood and supplies such as wine, weapons, and horses. There are also pictures of the knights in full battle armour riding out to war. William s men also had better armour and weapons, for example: the cavalry were all equipped with mail hauberk, there is some evidence that archers used crossbows in addition to bows and arrows, some battle maces were also used along with spears and swords, round shields and kite shaped shields. This meant that the Normans were more protected from the English, than the English were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Battle of Hastings was fought in the autumn time, and many of Harold s English army were made of farmers (the Fyrd) a number of them had to return home to harvest their crops, or else when the English came back, they would all be famished and on top of that, most of his best soldiers had died in the Battle of Stamford Bridge therefore Harold has less soldiers. Also, once hearing the news that the wind changed directions when they just won the Battle of Stamford Bridge, Harold s army (even though they were badly injured) had to race back to the south coast of England marching 250 miles just to battle William thus resulting in Harold s soldiers feeling exhausted, tired and ...
